That’s the problem with April 1st — it is unusually hard to tell what is true and what is nonsense. Then again, the day does serve as a reminder that there exist all sorts of fake news throughout the rest of the year. It is just that the fake news is rather more obviously fake today.

I was attempting to capture the zeitgeist from the scene where the British Army confronts Wallace and his clan, demanding that Wallace be turned over to them. In the scene, several of Wallace’s clansmen stand and declare “I am William Wallace” even though they are not in order to confuse the Brits. Alas, my attempt at humor was not a very good one. Perhaps I should stick to more substantive posts.
