Why the Border Wall Will Work

The Border Wall Proposal from Fisher Sand and Gravel deserves more attention. It’s brilliant because of the way Fisher is using “cast in place concrete forms” which can take a 17% rise in elevation and still smooth.
Think about concrete as cake batter. A cake pan is the same thing as a concrete “form”. With cake batter we can make a cake in the shape of Mickey Mouse, a Bundt cake, or we can make cupcakes. The GREAT thing about a cake pan, is that we can put it in the dishwasher, and make the SAME shaped cake tomorrow. We can also tint cake batter green for St Patrick’s Day, the same way we can tint concrete — which means no more painting, no more rusty old steel walls.
cake
We have companies who have forms/cake pans to make sections of pre-fab walls but the form is back at the factory, which means large sections have to be moved from the factory to the Border Wall installation. In effect, Fisher brought the cake pan to the Border Wall. The idea never existed before, — until Fisher created one.
Think about when you go to Lowe’s/Home Depot in the spring. You see concrete stepping stones for your garden, right? They usually come to the garden center shipped on a wooden pallet, and a few of those stones are already broken, right? Well, some concrete company made a concrete form, poured concrete into the form, let it cure overnight – the same way you let a cake cool before frosting it – and then the stepping stone is shipped to your local garden center, where YOU pick it up and move it into place in your garden.  It’s the SAME thing with large precast panels of concrete wall, which are made at one location and then shipped/transported to another location, and lifted into place. The TRANSPORTATION becomes more difficult the bigger the item is. Remember how heavy those concrete stones are? And remember how YOU sometimes chip and break them, moving them into place?
NOW – imagine you had forms, several cake pans, at your house, which could be used, over and over again, to make an unlimited amount of stepping stones. The concrete truck comes to you. No problem with transportation. No heavy lifting, no cranes (which would be almost impossible in a mountainous region) to put the Border Wall sections into place, and……… no cracked concrete. No waste. No broken stepping stones at the bottom of the wooden pallet – or in your car.
What Fisher Industries has done is miraculous. The made a cake pan… a concrete form, which can be reused, over and over again for our Border Wall. AND — if the government will give Fisher a larger contract, Fisher will make MORE cake pans, so we can go faster. In other words, you could make 20 stepping stones per day, instead of 10 stepping stones per day — or 2 miles of Border Wall a day, instead of 1 mile a day. Fisher’s solution represents an “out of the box” solution, which is so far out of the box, it makes people wonder — why didn’t I think of that. I love it!
Here is the actual presentation Fisher created for the President and his team. Watch!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=-Mb4JoUgg-E
My first husband actually certifies concrete testing per local architects for jumbo projects. The process of building the form, and making sure the concrete is level across the form, takes time. If you screw up the form, the concrete makes a permanent mess, won’t drain correctly, etc. Premade forms are a truly brilliant solution….. but it gets better.
Fisher industries added a benefit which is a deal closer…. fiber optic sensors, even radar,  with a ballard steel wall if the Border agents want to be able to see through the wall. Here is William LaJeunesse reporting on the Border Wall, ballard style, with the fiber optic capability:  LINK to Border Wall with Fiber Optics
Here is the regular link if needed: https://video.foxnews.com/v/6026779741001/#sp=show-clips
The fiber optics, encased in concrete are so good, they can detect pedestrian traffic approaching the Border Wall to give agents a “heads up” about possible intrusion. Most impressive. Back in 1984, I worked for ADT Security. We had ultrasonic vibration sensors we used to install, encased in concrete, which could detect an attempt on a bank vault. The install guys joked that we could hear an earthworm puking at 100′. When the subject of a Border Wall came up during the campaign, I thought, yeah……, I bet the sensors are a lot better now. And what do you know…. they’re a whole lot better.
The Dems and opponents of the wall gripe about “they’ll just dig under a border wall”. Breitbart (I think it was Brandon Darby who has done excellent work on this subject but am unable to locate the interview this morning) had a long interview with a guy, working in Mexico, spent a decade tracking cartels. Most interesting. I was surprised to learn only about 100 tunnels had been found in 20yrs. We’ve been led to believe tunnels are a huge problem when they are actually quite rare. Come to find out, the reason there were so few tunnels was based on simple reasons.
-Tunnels are expensive. They need infrastructure, lighting, and forced aeration, and take a long time to construct.
-Tunnels in open areas of the desert are easily detected by Border Patrol. Where we mostly find tunnels are in places where there was a city on both sides of border. Illegals cross over into a house or sheltered building, to avoid detection, ….. but the neighbors quickly reported the problem, because they didn’t want police hanging around their neighborhood.
Here is one more video worth sharing. Again, this is Fisher Industries using time lapse photography to show the install.

Overall, the ingenuity shown by American companies is inspiring to us all. Makes me think there is nothing Americans cannot do when we put our minds to it.
Well done.
Makes me proud to be an American!

Thanks for this information, daughn. Hope POTUS is seriously considering it. Build the Wall now – all of it. We the People are sick of the invasion with the resulting increase of crime, carnage, corruption, job losses, reduced wages, etc. Understand the legitimate desire of good people to live here who are willing to assimilate and be real Americans. Just do it the right way through the front door so we can make sure there are not nefarious reasons to want to be here.

gingersmom2009

Never mind nefarious reasons. How about they just want the freebies? End the benefits and birthright citizenship.

Great Piece—Hey I want the cake LOL

Fisher Industries is very impressive and very inventive company – and their interest in the Wall makes them seem like American patriots.
Fisher came up with several ways to build the wall and build it faster, cheaper and better.
When the Border Patrol decided against concrete, Fisher found a way to construct a mile a day of Steel Bollard Wall and had Caterpillar make a custom machine to do the job.
I hope they get some of the contracts and make their money back.
Really sounds like a company after VSG PDJT’s own heart!

For folks with older computers – here’s the YouTube video of the Fox News interview with Tommy Fisher, head of Fisher Industries:

GA/FL

You did an awesome job of putting all the Fisher material together. After watching that video, I will say that Tommy Fisher is a great American patriot.

GA/FL

Y’all probably got at least a hundred of ’em just in your surrounding Mississippi counties.

:8-) Can’t wait for another DW24/7 story!!!

Yes!!!

Daughn, I am so happy you did this little article for us. Technical wall building info is definitely outside my wheel house or frankly my set of interests.
HOWEVER. I want The Wall so much. And I have been following in a desultory fashion Fisher’s various proposals. I have been impressed by how nimble they appear to be in adapting to various requirements.
The company had a guy on Fox & Friends a month or two ago with this latest proposal because he had done his research and knew the President watches F&F and rightly supposed he’d get this in front of the President and get his attention. It was a short but interesting proposal. I thought at the time, “Holy cow! This sounds terrific!”
And then I saw the William LaJeunesse segment on FBN and to me he seemed visibly impressed by what he saw. I really sat up and paid attention because it was so interesting to me.
It seemed very innovative yet simple. I was frankly kind of awestruck in watching it. I felt hopeful that this could really move the project along and the very core thing for me was feeling such a surge of pride in America. Our people are fantastic and we can do anything!
And Daughn, you explained it so well. Bless you, dear.

Just as a note. In Sydney they are doing a bit roadworks construction. They did a? World first thingy where they set up on site at the motorway a manufacturing plant. Brought in the pre Cast reo steel and put them in moulds and had a line of concrete trucks day and night and made hundreds of prestressed girders(?) on site. Saved years. They didn’t have to transport the heavy things, closing roads etc. each one weighed about 200 tons. Made all the bridge stuff and stuff for the tunnels there too. It’s a good solution.

Here’s the Wm. LaJeunesse report: *

My old Mac OS doesn’t play Fox videos now. I’ve got a newer Macbook pro laptop, but haven’t got all my files on it yet….too busy to mess with all the data transfer.

Pat Frederick

thanks for all the info Daughn! there is nothing like American innovation! that’s why the Chinese want to steal our ideas–we’re THINKERS, CREATORS, PROBLEM SOLVERS!
btw…did you make that cake? it is totally AWESOME!!!

I’m very hungry and cannot get that sucker out of my mind!

Wolves DO NOT EAT CAKE wolfie, they eat MEAT….
At least that is what I tried to tell our Golden Retiever/Yellow Lab cross. He didn’t believe me and kept on eating the raspberries off the bushes and any cake he could get to. 🙄

pgroup

Silly girl. Goldies don’t even LOOK like wolves, let alone act like them.
🙂

Sylvia Avery

My sweet old Scottie used to love to eat the blueberries off the bushes. She was worse than the birds!

ozzytrumpster

I think there haven’t been many tunnels as it’s more economical to send mules. A little wastage but every business has losses
If GSDs can eat wooden table legs nothing is safe

trumpismine

My wife got that frozen ice cream treats for her Shih Tzu fur babies called frosty paws I think. They had to have brain freeze after devouring that stuff 😉

ozzytrumpster

You just saying that because not enough to share now we’re hitting 500

trumpismine

Can I lick the bowl please???

ozzytrumpster

Only if I get the beaters

Same here. I am so knocked out by their ingenuity in how to build the thing and how to get the idea in front of the President. Really smart guys. I admire what they are doing so much.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I took some editorial liberties and added a lede image, categories and search tags – all of which will increase views and search engine hits!
To access these things when you’re composing, click cursor focus into the TITLE, and these options will appear in the sidebar on the RIGHT.
I have found that the single best way to get our posts to appear in search results in Google, DDG, and even the site search widget is for all the key words to be included as either categories or tags using WordPress categories and tags. Works like a charm, because WP pushes those out to the search engines. Absent those things, it is VERY hard to make our stuff appear in the search engines. The header images just increase the number of views and clicks. Even just a screen grab from Facebook or Twitter like I did here will increase the numbers, and takes only a few seconds.
Don’t worry if you don’t want to do this grunge work – that’s what editors are for! 😉

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

PS – if you want the CAKE photo as the header image (easily replaced – look for the button), you have to use the header image function to reliably make it appear that way, and it will basically chop a strip out of the middle of the photo as a teaser. WordPress used to make the first image a kind of automatic header image, but they changed the model, and first images only become headers on SOME devices and platforms, as nearly as I can tell. It doesn’t work at ALL on mine.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I have used search engines to try to find posts here, based on un-tagged terms, and it is HARD. That’s how I figured this out.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

It is fun! And you can add categories and tags, too.

ozzytrumpster

Google translate not working with that

Fox videos! I can’t even watch these on Fox. Ridiculous!
I went off on them on Twitter (gently) and let them know that I am not alone in being unable to watch these things!!!

GA/FL

No one has posted this on YouTube yet – I’ve checked.

I cannot watch if on the iPad, but am able to do so on my PC. Weird.

Wolf my computer MacBook Pro is 11 years old and I have a problem with some videos. What I discovered when I click on it the page is black I then click again and then the video plays.
I discovered the same on my old iPad.
I hope my Mac holds until next month when I get a new one. At the Apple store they were surprised that my computer still works .

Sylvia Avery

Same here, except my pc is pretty new. But I click on the black video screen and wait and then it loads and plays.

Aside from Cavuto…. He had me until he admitted being a “Marco Rubio” anything.

Great article Daughn!
The cake pics are fantastic.
100% walls are the most effective solution for our immigration / invasion problem.
President Trump knows this.
Have to believe as additional funding comes available, Fisher will win some contracts.
An effective wall is fundamentally a MUST HAVE.
Quickly building the wall, IMHO is also a MUST HAVE.
Hoping for Fisher success. We need it.

Jan Phillips

Daughn, I already “liked” this article and the great comments even before reading because I know how great it will be!! I will be able to read a little later!

golsono

Not sure if this is apt, but how about ‘Kilroy was Here’ on a few segments of wall – seems to keep it entertaining for both sides (if my understanding of Kilroy is correct – mischeviously supporting the end objective)

ZooNTexas

Sure it a lot safer than tilt wall construction, look how many bodies are around these walls they are standing with the crane. Keep in mind these walls come in at over 40 tons and that’s for a small wall.

ZooNTexas

I spent years if my life doing this kind of work and it really is innovative. From a safety point of view not having to move a 50+ ton wall with a crane with a bunch of guys pushing the wall around makes sense. The speed and safety added by their way of doing this is remarkable, not to mention they are able to do it on slopes.

rayzorbak

Per the Fisher video……. their walls are designed to build up the ground on our side and put a road on top. Boarder patrol could see right over instead of through. Better (higher) vantage point as well.

rayzorbak

ANOTHER……. awesome report from our own Daughn 🙂
Not only Real “American” life stories, But highly technical too as this article is.
What a wealth of knowledge and Real life experience!
Thanks again Daughn……. WE Love you.

Daughn, I had no idea how amazing this post would really be!! Your analogy of the cake was so good.
I remember when Jesus Girl sent us a video of the concrete Fisher wall as it would operate when it was complete, with the road,

Jan Phillips

… sorry, posted too early by mistake. This post really added to the other by explaining the process. And you explained why it would be so much more economical than the normal process!
I’m sending this to everyone I know!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Jan Phillips

It made it so understandable for us bakers!! 👩‍🍳

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

This makes a great deal of sense (assuming, of course, that CBP wants a concrete wall–which they might, if it’s really the front face of an embankment–no issue of visibility).
I know when they build a concrete highway (a situation that takes a roughly comparable amount of concrete) they simply bring a concrete batch plant with them and make the concrete only a few miles (at most) from where it’s poured in place. The raw materials (and water!) have to be trucked in, but that’s easier than bringing big honking pieces of already cast concrete in.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

The advantage of the high road is that Border Patrol agents can simply look over the wall (four feet high or so from their side) for the visibility they want. That, I should think, would obviate bollards. Or am I missing something?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Excellent article Daughn,
time and effort much appreciated…
we need to set up a meeting with you and POTUS… move over Mick, Daughn’s got this CoS thingey…
you, Mick, can move on back to OMB and reorganize, shrink this gov’t……..

Gudthots

Watching the video, seems the steel bollard walls are put at border proper and the concrete wall with high visibility road at top is the second, set back wall. I really like the design.
Great article.
I’ve posted to one Gab group, will post to others over the day.
Time to do the chores now.
