This Night before Daughn Thursday 20190926 Open Thread is officially Open – VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA / KAG! / KMAG world (KMAG being a bit of both MAGA and KAG! You can say what you want, comment on what other people said, and so on.
Free Speech is practiced here. ENJOY IT. Use it or lose it. Keep it SOMEWHAT civil. They tried to FORCE fake Orwellian civility on us. In response, we CHOOSE true civility to defend our precious FREEDOM from THEM. Our rules began with the civility of the Old Treehouse, later to become the Wolverinian Empire, and one might say that we have RESTORED THE OLD REPUBLIC – the early high-interaction model of the Treehouse – except of course that Q discussion is not only allowed but encouraged, and speech is considerably freer in other ways. Please feel free to argue and disagree with the board owner, as nicely as possible.
Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here in the January 1st open thread. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven.
SPEAK THE FIVE WORDS BOLDLY TO OUR PRESIDENT! “I AM PRAYING FOR YOU!“

Since today is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday I can imagine that Oh No! Biden and the vile impeach! Democrats might be having one of these
Ha! Finally! I get to be first!!!! Mark it on my calendar!!!
Just watching Tucker’s show tonight (worked ’til 10). TUCKER IS TAKING ON SHEP!!! BIGLY!!!! Hot damn!!! Did not know DiGenova called Nap a “fool!” Oh, this is just too rich!!!
OK, back to Flep’s post and the rest of Tucker, Hannity (thru which I will primarily FF), and Laura.
I’ll be back! (in my best Arnold voice)
Good. I didn’t want to be first! I had nothing special to say anyway. But now I do.
Will say that the Ukraine stuff is really getting to be swampie —- Democrats are killing themselves.
OK – I won’t say it…….but you KNOW what I’m thinking!
LOL TIme to buy stock in Popcorn LOL
You know, I don’t often eat popcorn but I just happen to have some theater-style buttered mw popcorn. Gonna have to break it out soon, I hope!
Tucker and Joe were spot on today.
Taking on Shep is way over due. Shep really is CNN material afflicted with terminal TDS.
AND, Shep sucks. Oh. Wait. Did I say that:-)
Oh, yeah – he sucks in ALL ways! Have a good night!
Shep’s been a liar for years, but is really vile in his TDS – which means he hates US more than ever!
That was a great smackdown by Tucker and Joe!
Nebraska Nap is a fool.
He must have gone to brainwashing institute so he can become a fool .
Night n God bless you all.
Awesome job TrumpIsMine.
Mario has been hitting it out of the park lately. Here are two good reads
GROUND ZERO CHURCHES
We cannot fear what our culture looks like right now. The Holy Spirit already has a message and a plan that is uniquely designed for this present darkness. Seek the Lord and believe that He not only wants to, but that He will change your church into a Ground Zero Church, and save this lost nation of ours.
THE STUPIDEST IDEA
In the history of stupid decisions, this may be the all time stupidest decision yet. Moving to impeach Trump is so stupid that it has all the earmarks of an act of God. It feels like God has turned them over to a madness that has them careening toward self-destruction. It demonstrates both, that they are desperate to appear relevant, and that they realize they are losing. It has to be the hand of God if Democrats are all on board to do the last thing they should ever be trying to do.
I hope you haven’t put new scripts into the code ’cause my ‘puter keeps freezing on Q-tree.
There’s new crud in browsers. If you’re keeping your browser up to date, a bunch of stuff just got broke in Mozilla, Brave (four updates in a week?!?!?), and Chrome.
Nope, I’m smarter than that (or so I think). Using Firefox 43.0.1 on XP.
If you are, I sincerely hope that you’re running that on a virtual machine inside a really locked-down system. I’m running Firefox 69.0 with NoScript, AdBlock+, HTTPS everywhere, Privacy Badger, and Canvas Blocker on Linux, which is further firewalled…….and I use this computer to surf the internet and hang with y’all. Any banking is done on a separate disposable computer with a different browser.
As a further little bit of fun, your browser will allow an https connection as valid so long as it aligns with a certificate issued by a particular authority. Here’s the list of mozilla-approved authorities — https://ccadb-public.secure.force.com/mozilla/IncludedCACertificateReport .
I’m just going to pick on a couple: (1) E-Tugra — this is an organization based in Turkey. But, hey, if they say a website is ok it should be fine; (2) CFCA — yeah, China should be able to vouch for internet communications, right? (3) Kamu SM — yeah, this is linked to the government of Turkey.
OK, your browser might have some questionable levels of trust……at least it’s not your operating system, right?
Nope, your operating system has a completely different list of ca-certificates (certificate authority certificates). In Linux, it’s (partially) contained in /etc/ssl/certs. And E-Tugra appears again.
In other words, both your operating system and your browsers have lists of organizations to trust for the purpose of vouching for internet links. These are different lists. Under Linux, you can see (and modify) them. There are sketchy organizations in the default lists.
No wonder you get et a lot!!!
PGroup, Honey, Dear, you really need to UPGRADE!!! 🙃 💻 🙃💻🙃
WP! Wake up!
This site runs no special code or plugins, so that ALL BLAME falls on WordPress or hacks thereof.
However, social media sites are able to change THEIR plugins which run automatically, and change THEIR sites, so that gives THEM a path in to mess with your computer, and specifically your browser.
Do you trust Twitter?
Do you trust Amazon/CIA?
Do you trust NYT or WaPo?
‘Do you trust Facebook?
Do you trust Reddit (any more)?
Do you trust WordPress?
All of them have PLUGINS in WordPress that mess with THEIR site code and data.
ThanQ. Didn’t think it was you. I just get frustrated sometimes.
I always like to “view source” of web pages (OK, recovering dumpreader here, who likes to dig through code every now and then, for nostalgic reasons)(then again, a lot of this code is NOTHING to be nostalgic about)…
Seems that for most sites, the adware, localization, device detection and adaptation, and downright spyware constitutes that great majority (99%+) of the code. Years ago, Farcebørk made a change to their ubiquitous and infernal “Like” button which broke a lot of pages. I emailed them, complaining about it, asking for a fix, and suggesting what was wrong and what could be done to fix it. I got a reply basically saying “we don’t care, STFU, and just go away”… And that was when FB was just starting out… They are the Satanic tail wagging the (anti)social media dog…
And code generated on the fly – what could possibly go wrong… “W3C but not for me”… tee hee hee…..
It is my understanding that there are certain WP security plugins that every site should run.
In another universe, where certain bad things already happened, I’m running them. 😉
It is a fine balance to discuss security…..which things are useful for people to know to be safe; and which things are useful to know to attack you.
186,000 miles per second is the speed of light. As objects with mass approach this velocity, the inertial and space-time curving effects of their mass increase to the point where it becomes increasingly difficult to accelerate further.
We are seeing a Presidency like no other. Its effects and news-cycle curving effects are occurring at breakneck speed. We are approaching……the speed of Trump.
So….we matter…..unless we energy
I “c” what you did there 🙂
It has been a very uplifting day for me. Two pertinent thoughts come to mind . . . and they are good ones:
“I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, and will lay low the haughtiness of the tyrants.”
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
“For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
God’s in control. He’s got this. And the end to this story will be unimaginably magnificent.
Gotta have some intrigue~~
Wtf.? JFK jr wrote a suicide note?
I posted this image on yesterday’s thread in a discussion with T3, and I noticed something:
Look what happened to ALL the people on it. Consider THAT. Almost every one either taken out or “mind-fracked”, sometimes BOTH as a way to take them out. Even Hannity was strongly targeted for a while.
“There are no “coincidences “
BREAKING: Hunter Biden, who was being paid $83k per month to sit on the board of Ukrainian Energy Company Burisma while his dad was VP, doesn’t speak Ukrainian and never attended a board meeting in the five years he was on the Board of Directors.’
Just for the record, there are an awful lot of Ukrainians that don’t speak Ukrainian. They speak Russian.
Stalin moved a lot of Russians into Ukraine and killed a lot of Ukrainians, mostly by starving them. The Russians never left, and that is why there is fighting today – the Russian-speaking Ukrainians have more attachment to Russia and were good USSR proles. Their families miss the good old days when they were ruled by Moscow.
In my opinion, Crimea will never leave Russia and Ukraine will have to be partitioned or the fighting will never stop. It isn’t all Putin’s fault but he sure doesn’t mind.
Stalin got rid of the Ukrainians and replaced them with Russians because the Crimea is so very important strategical. He needed people loyal to Russia.
For decades, the Ukraine was the breadbasket of Russia. When Russia went communist on 11/07/17, the leadership set production targets to loot Ukraine of food, leading to the Holodomor of 1932-1933. The Kulaks, previously prosperous farmers, were particularly targeted. MORE PEOPLE DIED IN THE HOLODOMOR THAN THE HOLOCAUST. And many of the people who were killed in the holocaust were somewhat humanely gassed or shot, while most of those who died in the Holodomor starved. And they starved to the point where a family of five might gain an extra couple of weeks by eating one in a stew.
As a side note, I visited Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2008 and was quite taken with their portrayal of the Ukraine — the hotel where we stayed was over a restaurant that had Ukraine entertainment night. There were Ukrainian restaurants all over. But the portrayal was just like the US TV program “Hee-Haw”. Ukrainian women were attractive ditzy blondes with ribbons in their hair wearing traditional clothing or work clothes. Ukrainian men spoke slowly, wore work clothes, and drank. It was sort of amusing…..until you started wondering whether the architects of the rural purge [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rural_purge ] might want to engineer a Holodomor in Kansas.
I was aware of the holodomor and the horrors of it. What’s wierd was Stalin was Ukrainian. But perhaps he knew they were tough and independent minded and decided that he was better off without them
The Kulaks were considered capitalists, even though we would regard them as hard working farmers who were successful. Stalin “needed” to eliminate them as a class in order to achieve Utopia. Can’t have hardworking, skillful people exist who are not controlled by the government.
For the son of a Georgian shoe-maker, Stalin certainly showed how any enterprising young man can grow up and sadistically dictate the terrifying fate of millions.
I have wondered from time to time whether any present day communist has tried to show empirically how the elimination of the “wrong” people has advanced the cause of Utopia. There are tens of millions of Chinese, Cambodians, Ukrainians, etc etc whose deaths can be studied to learn the true meaning of progress.
They take out the brains, the courage, the hardworking and can do.
The ones left fall into 2 categories
Either too stupid, lazy, timid to be a threat
Or the really dangerous ones the regime needs to fear
In some ways that’s what happened to Britain. Two world wars took out their best and brightest, and then they were left with weak people, easily moved into a socialist state. Of course, the fact that their history was mostly a society based on class and serving, even when the serfs were freed, contributes to this mindset.
America was founded by people who were seeking Freedom. It’s genetic makeup has been reinforced by the succeeding generations who’ve come here. Independent, freedom seeking, enterprising, and with strong survival instincts.
It’s why the commie/fascists have had more difficult taking us out.
Stalin was Georgian. Khrushchev was Ukrainian. Khrushchev was also the one who made Crimea part of Ukraine back then, but it didn’t matter much at the time because they were all Soviets back then.
Ahh. Sorry. He wasn’t any nicer to Georgians either.
Ukrainians speak a dialect of Russian…………….
Crimean historically has been a part of Russia… Crimeans want to be a part of Russia.
Rogue C_A and the US State Dept under zero are responsible for the problems in The Ukraine.
Ms Neocon Nuland supervised the entire mess… following Cabal’s instructions.
Don’t mean to be so brief, but one could write a book about this situation. Zero, handled by ValJar, did a lot of damage to our Republic… we will be discovering more and more.
Ha! Do great minds think alike or what?? LOL
The country, Russia, is named after the Kievan Rus. Last time I checked, Kiev was in Ukraine. Their national identities are significantly entwined. If there is to be a permanent separation, it will be complicated.
IIRC, didn’t the majority in Crimea pass a referendum to return to Russian control? I also read at the time that the majority of the Ukrainian population also wanted to go with Russia until Victoria Nuland and the DOS got involved – CIA allegedly fomented the riots and the US installed their puppet instead. The previous President fled to Russia.
Russians counted the votes.
Stalin quote there
Nebraska, that’s the story as I remember it also.
oops, forgot to say it’s a THREAD
That is great. And we know Rudy has been on this for months, so no doubt a lot has already been uncovered.
I’m waiting for a statement from Hunter Biden. Something like, “Here is what qualifies me to receive that salary.” Or maybe, “I got the position on my own merits, not because of my dad.” Just something.
Also waiting with bated breath for Obama’s statement supporting Biden’s stellar character and honesty while he was VP and during all the time O has known him — as well as a statement defending the high ethical standards of the O administration and how something like this would/could never have happened under his watch. Waiting…
Hey they were scandal free. Didn’t you know that
hope you’re not holding your breath while you’re waiting…
I find it very strange that Obama hasn’t endorsed his VP of 8 years…
California. And no, this isn’t the Onion.
Tesla squad car is forced to give up a high speed chase because its electric battery ran out of POWER
Officer Jesse Hartman had to abandon a chase after his Telsa ran out of battery
He pursued a ‘felony vehicle’ wanted for a crime in Santa Clara on Friday
The officer had to find a charging spot during the chase that was up to 120mph
The vehicle was found abandoned after other cops and CHP halted the chase
Tesla cop car forced to abandon
hahahahah you can’t make this stuff up
You don’t have to make anything up – just check California. You’re sure to find something wacky.
You got that right. I lost a reply on this so I’ll try again with less C & P
California is going green..electric only..no more gas anything..where they’ll get all this electricity..who knows or maybe they’ll decide we don’t need to cook or be warm. Mandatory raw vegans ?
“Tesla squad car is forced to give up a high speed chase because its electric battery ran out of POWER”
Cops never ran out of gas in any high speed chase I was involved in — that I can tell you!
If I was going to get away, I had to WORK for it.
The cops weren’t pulling over to the side of the road and giving up the chase because their car ran out of juice…
Be like being chased by noddy in his car
I had to look that up, sounds like a great story for kids!
Politically incorrect. Noddys friend was big ears. You sound to have had a disreputable youth
“You sound to have had a disreputable youth”
Not at all. Well, no more than most of my friends, anyway.
We didn’t think of ourselves as disreputable, we were just having fun 😁
True. And now we are all growing old disgracefully
I mean, car chases and running from the police was a theme for a huge amount of TV shows and movies throughout my childhood. Sometimes it was the central premise!
Dukes of Hazard
Starsky and Hutch
Hill Street Blues
Smokey and the Bandit
To Live and Die in L.A.
The French Connection
Dirty Harry (all of them)
Gone in 60 Seconds (the original, 1974)
The Hidden (1987)
The Hitcher (original, with Rutger Hauer, 1986)
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974)
Used Cars (1980)
The Usual Suspects
Vanishing Point (1971)
I’m sure there are lots more 😁
Roy Schieder looked like he was crawling out of a real crash (Seven-Ups). And Vanishing Point didn’t want to destroy the Challenger so they destroyed a Camaro instead.
Yep. All normalising crime and police as the bad guys. Coincidence? I think not
“Yep. All normalising crime and police as the bad guys. Coincidence? I think not”
Well, I think it was different then. It was a different country then. It wasn’t a police and surveillance state like it is now.
In a lot of those car chase movies, the cop was the good guy (e.g., Dirty Harry, Starsky & Hutch, Rockford, The French Connection, Bullitt, etc.).
It was the golden era of sports and muscle cars (around 1963 to around 1971), and when you have cars like that, and you have a camera, you gotta film them doing something.
And what’s more exciting that a car chase?
My all time a favorite is the 1963-1967 Corvette. There’s just nothing else like it. The body style looked futuristic in 1963, and it still does today. They never made one that looked better (IMO), or gave you a better driving experience.
This one has been modified for racing:
This one is original, the color is Marlboro Maroon. I’m partial to Marina Blue (light blue) or Rally Red, myself. These cars were practically hand assembled by GM, and the amount of detail that can be learned about these cars is incredible. If you notice, the ‘Corvette script aluminum valve cover has a vertical crack through the ‘o’ in Corvette. The mold cracked late in the 1967 model production run, and they didn’t want to spend the money to create a new mold because the entire body style was changing for the 1968 model year, so rather than replace the mold, they just repaired it, which left a line showing through the ‘o’, and continued making the valve covers with that flaw. So if you see a 1966 Corvette (for example) with a vertical line through the ‘o’ in ‘Corvette‘ on the valve cover, you know that valve cover can’t be original to the car, it must have been replaced sometime in 1967 or later.
There are details like that which can be known all through the car, even down to the correct original manufacturer headmarks on bolts, date codes on LOTS of parts, it’s an amazingly detailed thing to try to restore something like this. The research is at least 10 times as much work as the actual disassembly, getting everything cleaned and fixed and restored or replaced if necessary, and then putting it all back together.
My Dad bought a used ’67 coupe (327ci / 350hp like the one above) when I was about 8 years old, and it has been in storage (garage) since I was about 18. I rode in it all the time when I was a kid, usually with my sister in the back (no seat belts… no seats!), but never had a chance to drive it. It has always been my favorite car, since the day my Dad pulled in the driveway with it the first time. I had books about them, and models of them, and it was always amazing to go outside and see a real one sitting in the driveway 🙂
After college I bought a 1969 Corvette (350ci / 350hp) that I drove for 11 years. The 1963-1967 models were more than I could afford in the 1990s, but that ’69 was the next best thing, and I miss it. It’s the only car I’ve ever owned that made me smile, every single time I turned the key in the ignition and it roared to life.
I’ve been working on restoring my Dad’s ’67 for the last 10 years or so. Hoping to finally get to drive it for the first time next summer or fall, but things always take longer than expected, so we’ll see. 👍
I’ve been working on restoring my Dad’s ’67 for the last 10 years or so. Hoping to finally get to drive it for the first time next summer or fall, but things always take longer than expected, so we’ll see.— Very cool Scott. Let us know if you do!!!!! 🙂
It has been a long and difficult process, expensive, and with a couple starts and stops along the way. In one important sense I am lucky, because the car is very original. Over the course of 50+ years a lot of things can happen to a car, various modifications or replacing parts with something that worked but wasn’t a correct part, etc.
There are a lot of people (and clubs) that have put a great deal of research into old Corvettes, so what is ‘right’ and what is ‘wrong’ is very well known on these cars, and it takes a lot of time and research to learn and understand what is ‘right’ and do it right, so you end up with something that is (hopefully) worth what you put into it.
It has been a great learning experience in that regard. I know and am familiar with every part, every nut, every bolt, every screw on that car, and you would be amazed how many unique and specific bolts, nuts, screws, etc. were used on these old cars.
Original assembly manual, GM Dealer parts books from the 1960s, restoration books, online forums, model year specific Judging Guides, it’s a lot more effort than I thought it would be when I started.
I knew it was going to be a lot of work, I had no idea just how much, lol!
I’m close to the home stretch now, so hopefully by next summer she’ll be on the road again, for the first time since I was a kid.
These great old cars are meant to be driven, and I hope to enjoy it for as long as I’m around, there’s no other car in the world I’d rather have and drive 😁 👍
These great old cars are meant to be driven, and I hope to enjoy it for as long as I’m around, there’s no other car in the world I’d rather have and drive —- You are a poet!!!! Enjoy it. And if you feel comfortable maybe post a photo when its up and running again!!!!
I’ll figure out a way to do it 😁👍
Now this is appropriate
The Milpitas (CA) City Council voted 3-2 to rename Dixon Landing Road to Barack Obama Boulevard.
The road leads to the Newby Island Landfill, a recycling and composting plant notorious for causing a “putrid stench” in the area.
For decades residents driving on that stretch of road have complained about the odors—similar to the way patriots complained about poor economic growth, endless scandals, deteriorating race relations, and disastrous foreign policy before Trump.
How did you find this local story from the other side of the world?
The thing about Dixon Landing Road is that there is a major intersection just south of it where state route 237 and interstate 880 meet, and this led to a major shopping center with a WalMart — McCarthy Ranch — tucked in the northwest corner of that intersection. It is super, super, super easy to get to from 880…..but requires a minimum of a 2-mile detour to get back on 880.
This may seem unlikely unless one has experienced it, but it has to do with the concept of a “basketweave interchange” where there are explicit express lanes. If you are leaving the shopping center, heading west on 237, you’re ok. If you try to head east, you join 237 after the lanes heading north or south on 880 have split, and get to make a U-turn on a congested side-street in Milpitas. Otherwise, you can head north to the Dixon Landing ramp; or south to the Tasman ramp.
So, yeah, Barack Obama Boulevard will be a road that leads to a smelly dump, where the majority of people driving on it will be irritated because it’s a long detour they don’t want, and it unnecessarily complicates their journey.

News Briefs – 09/25/2019
Posted on September 25, 2019 by Anonymous Conservative
A probably little-known fact (anymore, at least) is the Dixon Landing Road interchange was completely rebuilt some years ago, previously being more or less of a one-way crossover from 880 South to Milpitas and/or 880 North. The half-cloverleaf on the Eastern side encircled a Restaurant named “Calamity Jane’s”, oddly appropriate for the many, MANY going-away parties that were hosted there during some of the bust times of the silly-cone valley (and, yep, I was there for more than a few [but not for me]).
Living up (or down) to its name, the restaurant was inundated with flood waters when Milpitas faced one of its periodic torrential rainstorms, and was torn down to facilitate building the new interchange. Another piece of history in CA plowed over.
And now this Øbomination…
Thank GOD the family members I have/had there have moved away… First Fremont, then this. The DEMONcRATs are hitting to close to (my former) home…
And the article is wrong: the recycling center is not the source of the putrid fumes: that (dis)honor would go to the area surrounding Alviso, the Alviso slough and thereabouts. Back in the day where they actually grew things there, the farmers would let the vegetation rot during the rainy season, as there were often floods in the low-lying areas of the South Bay. Farther north, in Newark, the problem was Cauliflower. Then there were also chemical plants which spewed their noxious fumes into the South Bay air. The coming of silicon valley ended most of those problems, but brought a few more.
Many of those streets (and the McCarthy Ranch shopping center) weren’t there back in the day (when it WAS a real ranch). Also, the largest Asian shopping center in the western United States (no signs in English allowed) wasn’t there, either…
Funny, now they can call it B.O. Boulevard…. fitting…
I don’t think the town council are smart enough to get the irony of their renaming. 🙂
Unless there is a closet maga or two. Judas goats
They’re just barely smart enough to remember to breathe… they are (and almost always have been) a bunch of maroons…
They wonder why no one takes them seriously, then they pull a stunt like this……
Interesting and sad that parts of history are being erased by this. There were at least three “landings” in the south bay; Jarvis Landing (mentioned in “Two Years Before The Mast”), Mayhews Landing, and Dixon Landing, from the 19th Century. Since that predates 01.01.1970, it probably doesn’t exist in the Yuppieverse, yet those landings were very important for commerce and travel back in the day. As were the railroads, the city of Newark being important both for being modelled after its namesake in New Jersey (!) and for having the “Carter Car Company”, one of the earliest and most important railroad car manufacturers… Now most of that is no more than a dim memory, and paving that over with Øbozo’s name is a bit more than I can stomach… Hope that Øbutthead ends up in the trash heap of history just like that road…
No surprise here
Websites can load fonts that link devices to any particular identity; websites can include 1 pixel x 1 pixel embedded images that link browsers to any particular identity; cellphone companies routinely sell your GPS coordinates minute-by-minute; when I last checked, there were 14 toll bridges in the bay area, and 68,000 FasTrak sensors.
I used to love living in Silicon Valley when it made things. I hate living where the main business is a surveillance state.
Digital information companies are having one electronic device, like a smart TV, with speakers, broadcast an inaudible tone which other devices with microphones, like smartphones, tablets, or computers will detect, and then beam back to a central database that those devices are all connected.
Yep, those 1×1 beacons should be illegal. I think there are browser plug-ins that find and neutralize them, but I imagine code generated on the fly could get around that, and any large amount of post-processing by a browser would get people yapping about poor response time. Not to mention the fact that “post” implies it’s already too late in the process to do any good…
Somehow I think the “old, good/great” silicon valley died along with Bill and Dave (2001/1996, respectively). A lot of the old timers I know said it got much worse when the “East Coasters” came in to roost (e.g. John Young and his crowd at HP)…
Hmmm….anyone techie enough to tell me if this would apply to an old flip-phone?
It does, in part. Every phone (brick, flip, or smart) exchanges information with cell towers. Your cellphone provider sells this to data aggregators.
Yeah, I know – not to mention my presence on FB. Just wondering about the TV signal, tho.
I suspect that most flip-phones do not have this particular capability.
My 2002 Nokia doesn’t even have GPS.
TBH, I don’t even know if my old Casio has it or not – this is my 2nd dust/shock/water resistant Casio. Have never once accessed the internet with my phone and I don’t want to. Good grief, I am on-line enough as it is!
Not having GPS doesn’t mean they can’t track you, sad to say. The cell towers “know all, and see all”; and if that’s not bad enough, there are devices which can emulate a cell tower, and do “man-in-the-middle” manipulation of your (and others’) data streams (and voice calls over them).
And the phones from the early 2000s had rudimentary internet access (anyone remember W@P? ) which some folks forgot about turning off. At least phones from that era could be disconnected by taking out the battery, which in the day of i-Things cannot be done (easily). Anyone with a bit of patience, a lot of skill and manual dexterity, and not caring about warranty coverage, could put a switch between the built-in-battery and the phone circuitry, the only question being where to mount it on the cramped exterior of the phone…
And, sooner or later (BAH!!!), the older phones won’t work, due to the mad rush toward Nerdvana, aka 5G…..
NEW: U.S. Attorney John Durham is investigating Ukraine’s role in potential 2016 election interference, the DOJ confirms https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/sep/25/john-durham-probing-ukraine-as-part-of-trump-russi/ …
John Durham probing Ukraine as part of Trump-Russia investigation orig
U.S. Attorney John Durham is investigating Ukraine’s role in the 2016 FBI probe of President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia, the Department of Justice confirmed Wednesday.
The current Ukrainian president, Zelensky, has been in office since May of this year. The previous president, Poroshenko, had been in office since 2014, leading up to and through our 2016 election, until this year. Zelensky is the so-called comedian, and it looks as if he is fully cooperating with Pres. Trump. This is getting good.
Did you see the news conference? I’ll try and find it and post it
I haven’t watched it but read that Zelensky backed up what Pres. Trump said.
Yeah that’s true. I was looking for the one where they just had a screen and stuff, (very funny), came on the screen. Hilarious. Don’t remember where I saw it
Oh, I saw that. Hang on…..I think it’s on my FB page.
That’s it. Funny as . Worth every second
I am guessing this is what you were talking about? The beginning of a presentation by the President of Ukraine – funnier than all get out!
That is awesome! I think I like this guy a lot.
Well, he was a comedian! Trumpism is spreading around the world.
I have no idea if this is true but it’s funny even to troll the trolls with
Nice trolling, but no. An impeached president is barred from holding office.
ARTICLE I, SECTION 3, CLAUSE 7
“Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law”.
lol thanks Truths!
“Nice trolling, but no. An impeached president is barred from holding office.”
Further down in the link (I was reading this link a couple days ago from another thread, and remembered it), it appears to be a two step process, each step requiring a vote:
“Since ratification, four troublesome questions have arisen under this clause. The first was whether the Senate may impose the sanctions of removal and disqualification separately and, if so, how.
The Senate claims that it may impose these sanctions by separate votes: (1) removal, involving the ouster of an official from the office he occupies at the time of his impeachment trial, and (2) disqualification barring the person from ever serving again in the federal government. In 1862 and 1913, the Senate took separate votes to remove and disqualify judges West Humphreys and Robert Archbald, respectively. For each judge, a supermajority first voted to convict followed by a simple majority vote to disqualify. The Senate defended this practice on the ground that the clause mentioning disqualification does not specify the requisite vote for its imposition, although Article II, Section 4, mentions removal as following conviction. The Senate in 1862 and 1913 considered that the supermajority requirement was designed as a safeguard against removal that, once satisfied, did not extend to the separate imposition of disqualification.”
It’s not true. Well, most likely not true. The Senate has the choice, after conviction (68 votes), to toss the person out of office with either barred from all fed offices for life or not barred.
Alcee Hastings was removed as a federal judge but not barred. He promptly ran for Congress and won. I think he’s still there.
Also, if you are VP and become president during the second half of the term (because the prior president died, resigned or was impeached and removed), you can still run for two full terms of your own.
So if Klinton had been removed from office before 20 January 1999, Al Gore could have only run for one term of his own (2001-2005), otherwise, Al Gore could have run for two.
Nancy Pelosi announces Impeachment inquiry of President Trump.
The Week says it is among the most colossal blunders ever made in politics. Impeachment polls poorly among swing voters in states the Democrats will need to win, it will make Biden’s son’s activities center stage, it will galvanize even the most lukewarm supporters of President Trump, and now the Democrat’s most batshit crazy, unlikable, nutjob, ultra-leftists are about to take the microphone from the moderate Dems and dominate the airwaves 24/7 as every Democrat with even the smallest modicum of common sense runs for the shadows and hides. Trump must be rolling on the floor that he manipulated everyone into this.
Ocasio Cortez says Impeachment is an emergency and we need urgent action. Here they come. We’ll take back the House, we’ll enlarge our Senate Majority, and nobody will ever take this cuckoo leftist party seriously again.
Bill Kristol says Mitt Romney has helped reassure Pelosi there is Republican support for Impeachment. Trump gave Mitt the push by trolling him with that tweet yesterday, with the video of Mitt’s loss contrasted with Trump’s win. Mitt ran to Nancy and plotted, and played right into Trump’s hands.
Impeachment can only begin with VOTE ON ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT.
ANYTHING ELSE IS BLUSTER.
That’s all the desperate old hag has got
I have been trying to explain this to people ALL DAY.
Ignorance abounds, doesn’t it Aubergine
3 Navy sailors assigned to USS George H.W. Bush kill themselves in a week. Today, I don’t believe in coincidences. Suppose I am in the CIA’s MK Ultra division. We’ve developed a directed energy weapon which triggers subtle emotional discomfort, like Infrasound is documented to do, which over times produces extreme depression and ultimately suicide. I need to test it out. Where better than on military members, where we can observe them 24/7 and control their environment entirely. And with the security on an aircraft carrier, I don’t need to worry about some kid in the neighborhood breaking into my safe house and stealing a top secret piece of cutting-edge Cabal-tech I was using on the neighbors. There was actually some speculation the massive fire which destroyed so many servicemen’s records was part of the MK Ultra coverup because for a time, MK Ultra was done on servicemen who volunteered to serve their country and made the mistake of trusting in it. I have no idea if it is the case, but in these times, it would not surprise me if these suicides were no accident or coincidence.
Leftists are making big inroads in indoctrinating our kids. From the article : “Like growing numbers of public high school students across the country, many California kids are receiving classroom instruction in how race, class, gender, sexuality and citizenship status are tools of oppression, power and privilege. They’re taught about colonialism, state violence, racism, intergenerational trauma, heteropatriarchy and the common thread that links them: “whiteness.””

That’s wierd mine would have already been at 90
The FBI has reportedly executed a search warrant at the headquarters of the Washington, D.C., Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. Notice, a regulatory agency which can make or break winners and losers in various business sectors. I wonder how many entrepreneurs thought they had a killer business, and then in came the government, and before long they had lost out to some competitor, and all they ever thought was they must have had a run of back luck for the government to come in.
According to the Washington Post article the raid involves a single employee.
Houston Chronicle too. Can’t get skip by the join page on WP.
Of course…was saving this but it’ll be fine right now..in addition to plundering the pension funds how about this or possibly there’s lucrative contracts waiting for the Pelosi/Newsom mafia to implement ?
The California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) plans to make all homes and businesses use electricity only means electricity will need to take up the duties that natural gas has been performing, and provide continuously uninterruptable power as California is on a path toward 100% renewables and “zero-carbon” sources in electricity by 2045.
Last year alone. California imported up to 29 percent of its electricity because it could not generate enough in-state to meet its demands.
As you know, California is phasing out nuclear reactors that have been generating continuously uninterruptable carbon-free electricity.
It gets bleaker in the coming years, as Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti’s recently announced that Los Angeles will shut down three gas powered electricity generating power plants
He went on to say that “this is the beginning of the end of natural gas in Los Angeles.
With the shuttering of nuclear and natural gas power plants that have been generating continuously uninterruptable electricity, our elected officials seem to be oblivious to the fact that the State has no electricity generating capacity to replace what’s being shuttered. Further, that “green” electricity from wind and solar is only intermittent electricity as neither generates when the wind is not blowing, and the sun is not shinning.
Judicial Watch made public 90 pages of heavily redacted State Department documents. They showed Obama State Department officials disseminated classified information to multiple U.S. Senators just before President Trump’s inauguration, including raw intelligence designed to push the Russian collusion narrative.

Is superb and good to give to Fence Sitters to explain WHY we support President Trump.
Are Romney and his sons connected to all this? Bet they are.
You can bet Romney would vote for impeachment….. he’s got a lot of dirt to cover up.
“MAGA is not a spectator sport.
It’s a war against tyranny and oppression.
You are a soldier.
Get on the battlefield.”
This is some good stuff. I’m feeling really good about it. It’s very inspiring, in a vague, nondescript kind of way… but what does it mean?
You are a soldier:
Okay… wait… what?
Trained in what?
And for what?
And by whom?
With what, for what, and from whom?
Get on the battlefield:
Do you have any idea how often I get rebuked, chastised or reprimanded for characterizing the ongoing coup attempt as a ‘battlefield’ or even vaguely alluding to anything that might possibly be interpreted as ANY kind of ‘direct action’ that could potentially involve ‘soldier activity’, ‘training’ or ‘equipment’?!?
I think I’m getting mixed signals…

I think Praying Medic is trying not to get removed from twitter or other accounts and is staying purposefully vague.
Sorry, I do not see it as all that vague given it is voting season…
AND we are in this mess, with the Commies taking over by stealth thanks to voter apathy and ignorance.
It is up to each and everyone of use to try and educate the fence sitters as to WHY they MUST VOTE TRUMP!

Passage of the Trans-Pacific Partnership would literally end the USA.
UN Agenda 21 is the plan for our new totalitarian society. A cross between feudalism and a company town.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership would allow an international Tribunal to TRUMP THE US SUPREME COURT. The Trans-Pacific Partnership says ANY treaty signed by the USA is covered and gives enforcement to treaties that up until now had no teeth to force compliance. The Trans-Pacific Partnership would provide the teeth. Remember international law sees no difference between an executive agreement, a congressional agreement or an actual Constitutional treaty. This means all those treaties that Obummer had signed, like the UN small arms treaty, all of a sudden could be enforced by an international tribunal with no regard to the US Constitution, Supreme Court or international sovereignty.

This link below still works READ THIS CAREFULLY. It is a clone of the European Union that was ALSO presented to the people as a ‘Trade Agreement’ That ‘trade agreement ended up making their countries vassal states to an UNELECTED bureaucracy with a toothless parliment that is nothing but a rubberstamping window dressing to fool the people into thinking they have a say in their governance.

“It has been more than a year since it was revealed that federal agents secured warrants to surveil onetime Trump presidential campaign manager Carter Page both before and after the election. In all the arguments over whether those warrants were legitimately obtained, a related question has long been neglected : was Carter Page the only person in Trump’s orbit to be put under surveillance ? There is reason to think others were too.”

Are south west tracks normal? This is the second one I’ve seen and I’m not really watching.
so Minority Leader McCarthy pushed a resolution disagreeing with Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry–getting all the dems to vote to TABLE the resolution in order to get the Dem fence sitters to side with Pelosi. They haven’t votesd on Articles of Impeachment, but the Dems can no longer claim to be undecided about whether or not to impeach…they have shown their true colors…
Democrats fought back against McCarthy’s efforts, pushing what’s called a motion to table McCarthy’s privileged resolution. That is where the vote of record happened–a vote for the motion to table was a vote against the resolution, and vice versa. The motion to table succeeded along party lines, with 231 House Democrats voting for it and 193 House Republicans voting against it. Former Republican, now “Independent” Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, also voted with the Democrats. Five Republicans and three Democrats did not vote.
In other words, in plain English, the Democrats, by shooting down McCarthy’s resolution, have now formally all gone on the record in support of Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry–and the Republicans have now all gone on the record against it. Even more plainly, this was the vote that formally opened impeachment proceedings. They are all on the record now.
No Democrat in the House of Representatives now claim it is not their intention to attempt to remove the duly elected president of the United States from office by force rather than by an election. They also cannot be ambivalent about it anymore. There is no more splitting hairs, no more supporting an “investigation” without backing impeachment, no more saying they need more facts to figure out what’s next. All the cards are on the table: Every Democrat in the House supports removing Trump from office and not waiting until November 2020 to have an election.
What’s more, in perhaps good news for Trump, he lost zero Republicans. The GOP is unified behind its president. Impeachment being partisan is an optics win for Trump, as it feeds his narrative that the Democrats are power-hungry and cannot beat him at the ballot box, so they are using extraordinary measures to attempt to seize the office by force.
“The Democrats can’t hide anymore,” a second senior GOP aide told Breitbart News. “Every last one of them now has the blood of this failed coup all over their hands. And America can see it.”
They are being driven over a cliff. One of mans earliest and most effective hunting techniques
POTUS’ tweet (4:17 9/25) is interesting… Note that he refers to:
“Democrats who went to Ukraine and attempted to force the new President to do things that they wanted under the form of political threat.”
I would expect that Ukraine’s leaders also record and document all interactions with foreign entities – whomever, and whatever was discussed with the Democrats likely is on record. POTUS not only knows this, but with President Zelensky interested in fixing corruption in his country, as well as not wanting to be under the thumb of Democrat extortionists, POTUS probably has the content of every interaction.
IMO, POTUS is letting the Dems know he has what they tried to do to Ukraine’s new leader…
Why is CNN known as a news source?
The great thing about President Trump’s exposure of fake news is he now has millions of people keeping an eye out for vignettes and examples of its occurrences.
What CNN has done should be a prosecutable crime!!!

Imagine how this is going to smell?
PORTLAND, Ore. — The City of Portland banned urinals in the remodeled Portland Building.
Urinals, for those who have never been in a men’s bathroom, are porcelain receptors without seats or lids that allow men to quickly relieve themselves.
Any woman who has had to clean-up after a sloppy teen (or man) KNOWS the ENTIRE building is going to STINK if those men’s bathrooms are not cleaned frequently. AND who and heck wants the job of cleaning a stinky urine slattered room?
Why in Hades do they think urinals were invented??
The “no urinals” order is to make sure the women who think they are men (except that they ARE NOT men, and therefore don’t have the “equipment” to use a urinal) aren’t discriminated against when “they” use the bathroom.

There must be some sort of visceral human response to pig tails/braids. I mean, I get that from an animalistic standpoint, a thick head of healthy hair is an indicator of fertility, but little girls in braids seem to get the same sort of response that the mullet does.
