Those of us who believe that the Messiah died and rose again in order to pay the penance for our sins used to be called People of the Word or People of the Book. That is what I use to describe myself – I am a Person of the Book. Since there are too many different kinds of Christians, that designation/name cannot be from God who is not the father of confusion. That other guy is the father of confusion.
This is not a condemnation of Christianity or Christians. It is however a very specific description of MY faith. My faith is the contents of the Book and the lessons it has for us.

I watched a video of someone who rescued a Belgian Malinois, it was withdrawn, and too much trouble for the original owners. This guy started working the dog and it brings tears to my eyes now on how this dog blossomed into the magnificence this breed is … it was wonderful how that dog was rescued …
This breed is trained in our area…not necessarily for military but as personal guard dogs for the rich and famous, and children of same. As I’m told, they learn commands in four languages as well as hand signals. As such, they are incredibly expensive…again, I ‘m told around $30,000.
It’s pretty much of a well-kept secret and very little known about the business.

As it’s Halloween Week, I’ve been watching selected horror movies on DirecTV. At this moment I’m watching a very old movie released in 1971 called “The Brotherhood of Satan”. It stars Strother Martin, L.Q. Jones, Charles Bateman and several other great actors.
It is of course a very campy movie with a somewhat violent storyline, but still is worth watching IMO. It’s the first horror movie I’ve seen with Strother Martin as the #1 evil character. He played the part very well.

Yes, I wandered into the article headlined, “Postponed” but Sidney’s tweets indicate “Cancelled” – BIG difference. I’m not a lawyer, but have 3 siblings who are, so I think my mind works that way, and it makes sense that he didn’t need anymore Oral arguments on her plea to the Court. Notice that the government didn’t submit anything except to stand by what they’d already submitted regarding Brady material. That’s kind of a “Tough, too bad, we’re not giving you anything else.” Decent Judges like to see a little cooperation from both sides when there’s adversarial issues. Powell did all the Judge’s work for him. Laid it all out. Judge doesn’t have to do anything but cut and paste. LOL.

Your comment led me to ask myself a question that I find to be interesting. Why did the Communists primarily choose the Democrat Party to infiltrate? I imagine sometime in the 1940s and 1950s that the Communists began to formalize their strategic plan to infiltrate the American political system to gain influence and ideological allegiance. What observed characteristics made the Democrats the logical and pragmatic choice? The Communists must have concluded that Democrat politicians were more morally and ethically ‘pliable’. Of course, it is my personal belief that 90% of all American politicians of any stripe are more ‘pliable’ than the average American citizen. That opinion being assumed I find the devolution of the Democrat Party over the last 50 years to be stunning. I do not believe that it is possible to classify them as a traditional American political party any longer. They are, at the very least, clearly not aligned with the interests and concerns of the American citizen. I think the events of the past 4 years make it obvious they have attempted an overt overthrow of the Republic. At this point, it does not seem to be debatable. I could go on but I am sure others on this board have given it serious thought. Wolf sometimes you channel my inner detective.

Comminism quickly followed immidiately in the 20s. FDR in the 1939s etc. Socialism and Marxism began in 1800s. Many Quickly adopted communism. Others felt Communism was a preverssion but communists easily infilterat3d and then guided socialist groups including Dems.

I was not speaking of Communism as an ideology but as the expression of the policy of a Communist state. If I remember my history correctly that would be Russia in 1917. I understand that the ideology has roots in the 19th century with Marx and that individuals would be attracted as is always the case with new ideas. But to become an official strategy of a state’s foreign policy would have come much later than the late 1800s. That is why I placed it post WWII. By that time the Russian state was mature enough to enact a detailed long range policy objective with respect to Western democracies. China would have been still evolving as a Communist state and probably would have began its longterm strategy post-Nixon. As to the Socialist tendencies in American politics in the Roosevelt era I would consider them more internal efforts of Communist sympathizers and fellow travelers and primarily Soviet targeting of political parties

I stopped my significant others specialist psychiatrist anxiety disorder drug regime last month, because for the second time in four years was failing after increased doses. Spent much recent time on line researching, and found a small but valid Chinese clinical study showing a tumeric spice extract (curcuminoids) was as good as more potent versions of her prescribed SSRI equivalents. So switched. Is working.
She is enough better after one month (now getting up mornings for breakfast, able to take dog out by herself afternoons) that we will be going to my townhome in Chicagoland for the first time in two years for a few days to visit son and granddaughter in their new home, and to pick up some ski stuff, then on to Colorado for Thanksgiving with two grandsons and a day of early skiing with them (well, they will think that even tho they are still too young to be on the big slopes with me and my expert daughter and her wonderful husband).
