It’s a good idea. I would exercise a little caution, though. I’m not sure how people can know they had it in December and January. I had something in December but have no idea whether it was mild COVID-19 or something else. It seems that we need antibody tests before assuming people are immune. Also, do we know that one is immune from newer, mutated strains if they have had a different strain?
On the first part, I agree. It’s rough to know without antibody testing. Can’t really be certain, without lasting shortness of breath, which is a pretty dead give-away.
I’m pretty confident now that I had it, b/c of (1) the shortness of breath, (2) the Iranian connection, and (3) Sylvia’s case presented almost exactly like mine, every step of the way, and she tested positive, and used the same treatments I used (vitamin C being important).
I will bet you had it, but w/o shortness of breath, you need testing for sure.
NOW – the good news on mutation. It is now believed that the strains don’t mutate as much as flu. Thus, it is believed that vaccines will be more like measles or chickenpox – they won’t need updating. ONE VACCINE will protect against all varieties of this bug.

I’ve never had a flu shot. It doesn’t matter if you get the shot or not, you’re going to catch stuff if you’re not careful, and if the people around you are not careful.
I’ve come to the conclusion that my best defense is to spend enough time in the sun during the summer to build up vitamin D stores, and get plenty of sleep along with a pretty strict diet.
My strategy has been washing hands, watching what I touch, wiping everything down, etc.

My dad gets pneumonia shots, but then he had it a few years back. Something viral. Fortunately for my mom, it was parent-teacher conference day, so she really didn’t need to be at school, and left word she would be in touch with the parents she needed to see.
Same. Mom twice in the hospital with pneumonia and had long bouts with bronchitis. Always swore the vaccine was making things better. Had NEVER had bronchitis or pneumonia before.
Never had one either, have never had the flu. And I was a music teacher for 25 years. (mass quantities of kids 🙄)

When Gunner was in pre-school 4yrs, our average pharmacy bill was $1,000/month. He brought home EVERYTHING.
From Kindergarten on, …. I’m trying to remember the last time he was sick. Maybe a couple of times when kids come home from spring break.
I was sick this winter with a cold, but it’s been at least a decade. With all the people in and out of our home, one would think I would catch anything. AND we hug people, LOT.
I never got them (had the flu once before getting any flu shot) until they would push them like crazy on us at work so I was getting them regularly for a few years, then I found out (we) the company I worked for was making lots of $$$ off of it. Kind of opened my eyes to the money aspect of it. Plus all the crap that’s in them made me think twice about them. Have felt great ever since.

Abstract
PURPOSE:
Receiving influenza vaccination may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, a phenomenon known as virus interference. Test-negative study designs are often utilized to calculate influenza vaccine effectiveness. The virus interference phenomenon goes against the basic assumption of the test-negative vaccine effectiveness study that vaccination does not change the risk of infection with other respiratory illness, thus potentially biasing vaccine effectiveness results in the positive direction. This study aimed to investigate virus interference by comparing respiratory virus status among Department of Defense personnel based on their influenza vaccination status. Furthermore, individual respiratory viruses and their association with influenza vaccination were examined.
RESULTS:
We compared vaccination status of 2880 people with non-influenza respiratory viruses to 3240 people with pan-negative results. Comparing vaccinated to non-vaccinated patients, the adjusted odds ratio for non-flu viruses was 0.97 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.86, 1.09; p = 0.60). Additionally, the vaccination status of 3349 cases of influenza were compared to three different control groups: all controls (N = 6120), non-influenza positive controls (N = 2880), and pan-negative controls (N = 3240). The adjusted ORs for the comparisons among the three control groups did not vary much (range: 0.46-0.51).
CONCLUSIONS:
Influenza vaccination and respiratory virus interference among Department of Defense personnel during the 2017-2018 influenza season.
Receipt of influenza vaccination was not associated with virus interference among our population. Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus; however, significant protection with vaccination was associated not only with most influenza viruses, but also parainfluenza, RSV, and non-influenza virus coinfections.”

That has bothered me the moment the nurse told me “that the new flu was for 65 ad over and has a little extra protection in it.”
My instinct was alerted and I almost did not take the shot.
Something was not right with this new flu shot I can feel it . How does one explain instinctively knowing?

I do not take the flu shots and never have. I am around 20 to 100 or more DIFFERENT Children every weekend and many are illegals (I think) Despite this I generally do not get sick. BUT I have never smoked and am a fanatic about taking vitamins. I also get a lot of sunshine = vit D.
I have four or five of the CDC listed co-morbidites.

I do want to point out, since some people are starting to notice Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite of USACE. I can tell you from ground reports that even though USACE is an incredible engineering organization and getting it done, that the organization is thick and infested with one of the worst viruses on the planet: Deep State Resistors.
Fortunately most of the employees are engineers, including a large force of civilian white collar engineers. Where the worst corruption is the management parts of the organization and the subversive military components. They love to hold things up in bidding with process and red tape, like they’ve been doing with the wall, and like they did in Puerto Rico. In the end, it will mostly be private industry that executes on the contracts.
If they align efforts in a common fight great things can be done. But the resistance elements can stall projects back for months or even longer when they are politically motivated to do it.

I think part of it is shutting down the virus production. Not only does the drug combo SAVE the one person you give it to, but it shuts down their virus factory in 24-48 hours, with continuous decrease during that time. It means they become far less likely to infect anybody else.
We have really underestimated the value of therapeutics in the most communicable diseases, because we’ve never had any that shut down viral production so well. An now we know why zinc REALLY WORKS against colds.

Once someone is immune, you slow the spread. (This may already be happening because the infection started in December/January.)
I don’t know about the coronavirus surge, but I think hospitals are less busy because people are staying home and not taking the risks they would normally take. Maybe there are fewer auto accidents, knife fights, police shootouts, and the like. (Just a theory; I have not seen any stats.) And, as you point out, people are being more careful and are not getting illnesses like the flu.
This doesn’t affect patient numbers, but many hospitals are limiting visitors or disallowing them altogether. That cuts down on a lot of traffic and activity.
Yup. And I think this demonstrates the abuse of hospital emergency rooms, frankly. Throw out some “scare people away”, and only the REAL emergencies show up.
Definitely, Wolfman! As mentioned before, I had three visits to our local hospital since December to get steroid shots (only place I could get them….@$859 per visit!!) and it was quite an education to sit in the triage/waiting room. It really is almost social club for many…they bring their families, know everyone else waiting, and there’s very little, if any, angst as you might expect in an ER, etc. The “real” emergencies, via ambulance or doctor-ordered pre- admission are taken through another entrance so basically these are non-life threatening visits.
Abuse of the ER……most assuredly.
ERs are largely for people who don’t have a regular doctor, and thanks to the law that says you MUST be treated no matter what, many poorer people (not just illegals, but them too), show up when their kids come down with the sniffles.
Whatever happened to clinics?
My next door neighbor is an ER doc at our local hospital but also has 3 children under age 6. She requested minimal work days because of the possibility of infecting her children , but it really hasn’t been an issue because they haven’t gotten one Coronavirus patient yet.
My county is all clean no China virus. They say it is closer to Cleveland , Akron and Cincinnati.
Doctor center across the street from me is busy. Lows is open have not gone there because I hear people do not give 6 feet space.
Although March 29 had a low US fatality count, March 30 set a record of 573, and based on what I saw yesterday, that will be adjusted upwards. If it gets adjusted to 660 (quite possible, the numbers from the day before were increased by about a hundred) we’re back on the original projected path. Let’s hope not.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AS OF NOW:
The projections shown as of last night (the ones I originally posted) turned out to be pretty solid, with the actual numbers zig-zagging across the “most likely” line (which tells me they did a good job of prediction), EXCEPT for Sunday. However, I’ve seen the reported deaths for Sunday climb since last night; I think there is some lag in the reporting. It hasn’t changed in several hours (still 439, though worldmeters shows 363) so it’s probably good now.
We now have a number for the 30th which is inside (but on the lower half) of the projected range. Since the Sunday number got increased before noon yesterday, I expect the monday number to be increased as well.
rate of increase per day slowed. been fiddling with the numbers (yes, i think it is fun and interesting to number crunch) but can’t do tonight. went to 20% and then 17% and yestserday had to have been 15ish
mitigation is working and the percentage of increase is lowering significantly. good President Trump has taken strong measures re travel bans and shut down – working!

And the meds, the Trump Treatment … revolutionary on this issue.
Good News doesn’t mean there is no bad news. I guess I have accepted the reality of the situation and so improvements from there are all good news but don’t negate the existing reality, even if it is improved.
Been thinking/mulling that I post here more has a open source info share and brainstorming v. thinking in full picture or in terms of messaging. Never thought to post in terms of messaging or within the framework of an Overton Window.
Plan B for my life – public policy, specifically within the DOI. I thought Lasswell’s The Decision Process was a challenging & informative but fun read. Never thought to communicate or message here. And I never wanted to be in public communications or even elected politics. Never wanted to communicate directly with the public. Research, policy, etc., not communications or direct dealing with the public. Let me be the nerd researcher and someone else be the people person!
Been thinking about that as my posts were labeled “fear mongering” and “worst case” when they clearly weren’t.
They were realistic based on the conditions and just sharing why President Trump was doing what he was doing (as well as state/local govs and healthcare systems, etc.)
But my posts were the worst case being posted here and they were among the few focused on the projections as many others were discussing “today’s” numbers and how they didn’t match the actions being taken, etc.
(Plan A – housewife. So, when surrounded by laundry, dishes, another meal to cook, a child and husband forgetting to be appreciative at times…living my dream! 🙂 & grateful! …usually ha)

At some point, one has to realize that no facts will change a person’s opinion and I do not post to debate (doesn’t mean I won’t) but to share info and to synergize. I don’t have a dog in the fight…just after truth, facts, reality. Think of this blog as crowdsourcing info and going deeper, better informed, broader on the issues…that is why I post and why I read.
Been interesting to learn more about people – who they function and how they react, what they need and what they prefer as their worldview and to handle what life brings us. Left brained/right brained, ok with unknowns/need unifying theory of explanation, assimilating different facts at once…emotional reaction to facts, differences in dealing with the unknown.
Yes, we speak up, offer countering facts, reports, points of view, correct misinformation, try to explain..but at some let them alone to deal with it how they need to deal with it. I have no wish to fight. Do that enough with Dems on social media! 🙂
A large part of what he had to say this time wasn’t about the future course of this, but rather how it’s affecting his (and many others’) lives and whether this is even constitutional. He does have a point, there. I do think a lot of petty tyrants in governors’ offices are pushing. (Whether or not this is Part Of Trump’s Plan isn’t really relevant for the constitutional issues). And I suspect at this point we COULD re-open everything but the hot spots, while still urging people to do social distancing.

Fed v. State Gov….President Trump is working very hard to make sure that most of the “orders” are coming from state/county/city gov v. fed gov.
This is actually strengthening state/county/city gov v. strengthening fed gov which is what the Dems and any GOPe POTUS would be doing. I am actually delighted with how few “orders” have come from fed gov. Guidelines & recommendations, yes, and based on those most local gov’s, business and organizations are basing their decisions…but that is still not fed gov “orders”.
Constitutional issues re state/county/city gov are much different.
My opinion – but not interesting in getting into the weeds on this one. will let others work that out.

We are shutting down the ENTIRE country based on ORIGINAL projections from a guy that has ALREADT had to revise DOWN his doom by FIFTY TIMES. NY, is an OUTLIER.
While it is BAD there, and there should RIGHTLY be precautions, quarantines, etc. There simply is NO reason to believe the original projections on 99.99% of the rest of the country. Fauchi, is the one at FAULT in this, he and Birx have convinced Trump the original numbers are true, and are using (conveniently) the outlier to prove the point.
There is simply NO WAY that Italy, and china, who were “supposedly” 2 weeks, and a month ahead of us in the “curve” can be OVER their hum, but WE must wait an ADDIONAL 2 weeks, when WE outside NY, have NOT seen the numbers anywhere CLOSE to the “predicted”
Look, I understand CAUTION, I get it. But HERE is my problem.
MANY MORE people will have their lives DESTROYED by the total shutdown, than EVER will this virus. There was simply NO reason to do as we did. we went FULL tilt from the jump. We SHOULD have rightly quarantined the SICK and the ELDERLY, those MOST affected. and THEN adjusted UP as and IF necessary.
We did NOT, we gave POWER to little Napoleons, who are DAILY taking MORE freedoms. Mins just yesterday THREATENED JAIL TIME for ANYONE that traveled out of state, no matter WHERE, and THEN a MANDATORY quarantine upon RETURN, weather symptomatic or NOT.

It’s true the Founding Fathers didn’t put plague exceptions into the Bill of Rights.
I wasn’t there to talk to them about it but I suspect if I were to hop into a time machine, go back, and ask, they would say it was a state level issue. And back in the 1780s and 1790s very little of the Constitution constrained the states; some powers were taken from the states and assigned to the Federal government, but absolutely NOTHING else was forbidden to the states.
Some states continued to have established churches well into the 1800s in spite of the first amendment, because the Bill of Rights wasn’t considered as applying to the states at all. The fourteenth amendment and some supreme court rulings changed that; over time more and more of the BOR has been applied to the states.
The states were considered to have something called the “police power” to maintain order, mandate cleanliness, protect the public health, etc. so epidemic responses were up to them.
And still are.
So the founding fathers would look at what your tyrant, and my tyrant, are doing and said, “Not a federal issue.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t some sort of push for a constitutional amendment to deal with it, and I would be even less surprised if some of the proposed solutions don’t turn out to be horrors.
Any GOOD solution, however, would have to contemplate the possibility of a truly BAD disease like Ebola getting in and running rampant unless we do everything we have done today, and more.

I come from a background of government “weasel words” There is a HUGE distinction between “should” and MUST., between SHALL and COULD. Between CAN and CANNOT.

I think I finally HAVE the answer. ONE of two things WILL end this. ONE is easy, the other is HARD.
One, the numbers DRAMATICALLY improve, BEFORE even EASTER, and the MSM cannot keep up the farce. Trump reevaluates, he CAN do that based on FACTS ya know, and goes BACK to his original, and IMHO, CORRECT timeline, tells Fauchi ETAL to POUND SAND, and declares us OPEN with precautions for the sick and elderly ESPECIALLY. Rolling openings, WITH redeployments and assessments to “hot spots” as it SHOULD have been in the FIRST place.
This is the EASY and “amicable way, everyone is happy accept the Cabal and the MSM. Things get back to normal fairly quickly, and the stimulus bridges the gap and people and the economy RECOVER.
The 2nd way is MUCH harder. A big company, or a GROUP of companies get together and SUE and MAKE the Govs and Feds RELENT due to the unconstitutional ness of it all. Court cases, legal battles, and time. People are PISSED OFF, and the COURTS reign in the madness, NOT the preferred or MY preferred methods.
There IS one more option, and it is something I and others ARE considering.
a LARGE group of people and businesses, finally say F this, and reopen ANYWAY, but WITH precautions. MANY will, and once the flood gates open, there will be NO stopping it, IF the Feds, of local Govs etc TRY and stop it, they will be ENJOINED and bogged down for MONTHS in thousands of individual court battles, there would be NO one stop order, because EACH circumstance COULD and WOULD be different. The GOvt’s DO NOT have the time, people, or resources to fight this, and WOULD begrudgingly RELENT, they would HAVE to as in option one, the cases dropping which WILL happen would have started by the time the govt cases were heard, making the cases MOOT. As in Option 2, the COSTS to the govt from the THOUSANDS of lawsuits, BIG and SMALL will OVERWHELM the system. This is the LEAST preferred option. This is the one with the MOST animosity and PAIN.
I FEAR option three, as MANY feel like I do that the Govs will NOT give up their new found POWER easily or in a hurry. They will be FORCED to yield. Civil disobedience.
Remember there is NO law I have found where they can FORCE a healthy American, that is in otherwise legal compliance, to give up their FREEDOM. That is the stuff of the 4th and 5th and 6th Amendments. They WOULD lose, but it would involve PAIN, money, and ANIMOSITY. The Cabal would LOVE that.
The OTHER thing Rush mentioned, is WHAT does this bode for the FUTURE. Well it AIN’T good. Once they get a TASTE of power, they WANT more.

It is not an outlier – it is just an early performer.
NY #s will be larger than other locations merely by the fact that it is literally larger than other metro areas. But they also have more hospital beds, staff, etc., to handle this emergency.
They may have a larger % because of their Foolish actions. But they are not an “outlier” – they just got hit early.
Other areas will go through the same thing in time. Hopefully, less % if locals will cooperate and observe the recommendations.

Well, looking at the updated map you shared & the election 2016 maps I shared below there is a decent amount of overlap with Democratic voting counties &/or higher population density counties with the disease spread, but it’s not entirely consistent. Here’s my rough analysis of what I see…
Looking at CA for 2016 almost all the Pacific coastal counties were Dem but much less so for the disease spread. In fact the heaviest disease per capita in CA borders NV, is that near Lake Tahoe?
Looking at TX for 2016 there is strong Dem presence along the Mexico bordering counties but that’s not at all the case for the disease spread. This probably means that there is almost no CV coming into TX from Mexico I would guess.
Looking at DC for the election map there is a large Dem leaning population (which obviously goes without saying) but on the disease map there’s not even a blip of disease there which is pretty intriguing given all the international interactions that go on in that town. Could this be a bit of anecdotal evidence to support the theory that Dem power players (& their loyal staffs & bureaucrats) have all been on the prophylactic HCQ treatments, so they are all safe from the pandemic?
In CO the election map has a decent amount of overlap with the disease map in particular with the near perfect N to S counties mostly just one county from CO’s western border…hmm…
AK & HI have no correlation between the electoral map & the disease spread one…
WA electoral dem counties are almost always also disease counties, but there are more disease counties than those dem voting ones. I wonder where that practically ground zero nursing home was located & if the disease spread widely in the area before things got more “locked down”?
OR is mostly low level disease & the higher concentration counties are adjacent to the 2016 dem voting ones, perhaps there is only one county overlapping.
LA, MS, & AR all have major dem cluster counties all along the Mississippi River & similar disease spread areas that are more interior in LA & AR than the electoral results.
Following the Mississippi River north we find that the major Dem voting areas in WI, MN, & IA are much less disease impacted.
Chicago area, OH, & MI dem voting areas have a decent overlap with the disease intensity as does PA, though the disease spreads more widely in PA than just the dem voting areas.
The NYC, NJ, & CT area has a wider spread county wise than just the dem voting areas of 2016. Upstate NY & VT strong dem voting areas are hit or miss on the disease intensity.
FL, GA, & AL appear to have a somewhat loose correlation between dem voting counties & CV spread.
SC is somewhat similar between the 2016 map & the CV one but NC is much less so.
NM & AZ have much less disease spread overall but the more impacted counties, at leas in NM seem to be the dem leaning ones, while the ones in AZ are adjacent to the dem ones.
UT & WY have No dem voting 2016 counties so that perspective is invalid for analysis there. UT appears to have the disease more correlated with higher population counties, but it’s harder to discern for WY because the population density voting map doesn’t provide state borders & I’m not familiar enough with those western states to make an educated guess.
ID & MT have the disease density in seemingly dem leaning areas but some MT dem areas don’t show much disease spread.
ND & SD seem to have about the same percentage of counties that went dem in 2016 as disease laden ones now but the overlap is pretty hit & miss…
So without going over Every state showing disease &/or dem voting it appears that trying to draw a correlation between 2016 dem voting counties &/or denser population counties is only partially “predictive” of the disease spread. Common sense would likely suggest that larger population density would lead to greater disease spread & that many dem leaning cities also promote population density & mass transit (Agenda 21 goals) that would increase contagion but those factors Alone are insufficient to predict the location &/or magnitude of the disease spread.
Just giving it a visual overview, without crunching numbers I would speculate that dem political leanings &/or increased population density are both Loosely correlated with the disease intensity & spread, likely more than 50 percent. Some of the lesser populated counties may also be “seeded” with disease by those who travel there to escape their home turf so that might explain some of the outlier “hotspots”, like a county in MI’s northern lower peninsula or perhaps the border county of CA w/ NV.
Temperature factors &/or racial/ethnic factors may also come into play. In parts of the southwest in TX, AZ, & NM the heavily dem areas don’t seem to display significant disease progression & that is the case in CA too. However the disease presence along the southern Mississippi River & in FL would suggest that the temp factor might not be what is limiting the disease spread in those other locations necessarily.

Lifestyle and general health – along with drugs and smoking, advanced age and low immunity, having serious pre-existing conditions – all those seem like a better correlation and causation for developing serious complications than radio/microwaves.

However all those things you mentioned are more predictive on an individual basis as to how much the CV might impact someone if they are exposed. The map “exercise” was an attempt to get a broader overview to see if certain factors might be predictive, an educated guess based on only some of the factors that are coming into play. My son in law is a Johns Hopkins trained, JH faculty pulmonologist, now teaching at a med school in IL – he is treating these patients and had one FL woman die there due to smoking, COPD and COVID. I read the obituary in my local paper online tonight. Two women I know, have known for years, died of Covid-19. I consider myself very fortunate. I continue to improve. Annoyingly slow, but better than not.
My DSD sent me a picture of the store shelves in LV. Still no paper products, but more canned goods now. She and my cousin can’t grasp how I knew to prepare…….mind you, these are highly educated women. I told them it was simple. I read. When I saw there was a bad virus on the loose in China and that it was quite contagious, I knew it would spread world wide, so I kept an eye on the news about it and I went shopping.
I suppose I should have told them to prepare, but……..I didn’t think they’d believe me. (Liberals, you see).

The color is probably vitamin B — which helps with energy (which is good) but not immune response. If she’s taking large amounts of vitamin C (near saturation), she’d be passing anything her body can’t immediately use — which can lead to dehydration. Drink more water is a good recommendation.
In the category of TMI..that’s where I am…starting to cut back on the C, but it’s a good thing to know my body apparently doesn’t need it at the present time.

Updated: JBS Temporarily Reduces Production in Pennsylvania Packing Plant Due to COVID-19
One of the first packing plants in the US looks to temporarily reduce production for the safety of it’s employees due to COVID-19. An extension specialist with Cornell University has relayed that the JBS processing facility in Souderton, PA will reduce production at end of business today (March 30th), due to confirmation of 2 COVID-19 cases. According to the source the plant will reassess the situation in two weeks. It is not known where in the plant the employees worked.

Knows you guys know this stuff but can’t resist.
Masks protect three ways.
1 Prevents you from touching your face, thus giving you a grace period into which you may wash your hands after a surface contact.
2 Prevents virus from spreading from an asymptomatic carrier who does not know they have the virus and is spreading some level of contaminate every time they breathe. A simple face cover will block much of this. A mask need not be surgeon quality or better. Think of those people who did not cancel choir practice. Had they continued with choir practice but wore a simple bandanna they may of not contracted or may of gotten less sick.
3. Prevents a person from contracting the virus through aerial transmission. Obviously the better the mask the better this works however because it is a cumulative dosing that over comes the bodies natural defenses then even 50% protection afforded from a simple scarf can help in avoiding a dangerous dose.
Of the three above #1 & 2 are likely most important and 3 adds a level of protection. Yet everyone looks at 3 as being the most important and thus think if you don’t have a really good mask it wont help and since they need to go to the medical community first they shouldn’t bother.
WHO does not recommend the general public to wear a mask (it is in their COVID 19 pages advising what countries should and should not do) and CDC does not address or recommend it just like they don’t recommend methods of boosting the immune system. Both are contradicted when they say a sick person an a person treating a sick person should wear a mask. You also see the contradiction in all the health care community decrying lack of masks. WHO and CDC are evil. They know better. Just look at Dr Brix always wearing her antimicrobial scarfs and yes there are scarfs that are made of nano materials that are either
antibacterial or antimicrobial however most places you can get them on line have long since been sold out. Personally thinks Brix is worried about a vector being sent in to contaminate people in the administration and will likely cover up if anyone gets too close to her while working. Covering up is also a great nonverbal signal for someone not to avoid her space.
Asian developed countries did not heed that advice because it was already an accepted norm by up to 50% pre CV and it is common sense to wear a mask when packed together as they often are especially during flu season. Along comes CV and now 99% wear a mask.
For us it would make great sense if grocery and like stores made it mandatory to shop. Had we done this earlier we’d be relatively safe even with in a foot or two of each other and it would not have effected commerce and the economy the way we’ve let it.
We don’t have to make the country wear masks. We need the CDC to change their recommendation for areas that are hot so that a face cover is mandatory to conduct commerce.
Many stores now have plexiglass shields up to prevent spittle-fly at or from cashiers. The full 6 feet seems to work pretty well for that, but most folks don’t do it. 3-5 feet is common.
Just give a wide berth to people who want to sing in the store. 🙂

I can not pull it up fast, but the guy at ChiefIO esp Larry L. were discussing home made masks. The first layer will stop maybe 50% but the second layer will stop even more and the third layer gives you something in the range of the n-95 masks.
That means a simple cotton bandanna folded into a triangle and then the widest part folded down again to give you four layers, tied behind your head is certainly better than nothing and can be dropped into the wash to be sanitized for reuse.
You can add wire (coat hanger or copper wire) to allow form fitting over the nose.

I don’t like the color, other than that of course. They can flatten the curve in 10 days if this was mandatory to shop in. Also added value is you can whoop some jerk with out too much fear. Meanwhile the 50% is a good number, too many more layers and it gets hard to breathe but an air conditioned store will certainly help.
