A New Year’s Resolution . . . no
A New Year’s Revelation
Here I am, the New Year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months. All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination. All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires. All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have — these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, “Behold, I make all things new.”
We will soon celebrate the beginning of a new year, but more importantly, that God made with us a new covenant … a covenant that leads to permanent change. God has made this change possible for us, not by us making a New Year’s resolution but by the work of his Holy Spirit in our hearts.
Isaiah 43:18-19 – Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
God told Israel that He would do something new, that He would do even greater things with them, but in order for this to happen, they had to return back to Him. God speaks to us today using the same words, we have to turn back to God and leave far behind the sinful life; we have to turn to God and leave far behind the depression, rebellion, apathy and discouragement. God wants to do something new in our life, He wants to restore and use us. We are about to begin a new year, but we may also be ready to lay hold of a new life.
We should examine ourselves today, reflect and ask, “Am I a slave to the things of this world? Am I about to be led captive due to my rebellion, apathy or discouragement?” Listen well for God tells us today “See, I am doing a new thing!” God wants to do something new in our lives today. He can renew us, and He wants to bless us, but we must want Him to do so.
When we trust God, He remains faithful. He will guide us in the year ahead.

Many of us do look forward to the new year to make changes in our lives that may affect how we look, and what we think, say, or do. This time of year is also a good time to think about the changes God is offering us in our new life in Christ and whether or not we are really embracing those changes.
THE NEW LIFE
1 Pet 2:24 He took our sins on himself, giving his body to be nailed on the tree, so that we, being dead to sin, might have a new life in righteousness, and by his wounds we have been made well.

I NEVER make New Year’s resolutions. I spend the month of January reflecting on my life, and what I might need to change. Then, if I see a need, I make a change, and work hard at it. It works for me.
My family never got into that custom, and I guess that’s why I find it amusing to see people bemoaning breaking them.
As it happens I’ve taken up a couple of large-scale commitments that will dominate the New Year already; the course is set.

New Year’s Day is ultimately an arbitrary choice; it could have been any day in the Tropical year. (Even our season boundaries are slightly arbitrary, some countries use month boundaries rather than equinoxes and solstices; it really doesn’t matter so long as winter is the cold time of the year.)
The point being, why wait until New Year’s to make a change? And conversely, why try to force yourself to make a change just because it’s New Year’s?
People will change when they accept that they should. No sooner. My aunt was a chain smoker…until her father died of lung cancer. Then a couple of days later, she was about to light a cigarette, looked at it, and had a “WTF” moment and simply stopped. She had no desire to smoke the thing. Done.
New Year’s resolutions are a beautiful example of a herd behavior in humans.
Out of experience a new transformation happens in God’s time not a prescribed time by the calendar.
Having said that, it is nice to reflect and to be open at a universal time. Searching once soul can be done every evening I find that beneficial.
Very true. The first day of my year is really the day after the Winter Solstice. It just feels like a “fresh start” to me.

Where I grew up winter was stark and void of much sun all was gray and early dark. This never bothers me maybe because I accepted as was and is in winter.

I think growing up in the South and then moving to the dark wintery north is part of it for me. I am just sensitive to the light change.

It really is amazing how much brighter the sun is down here. I find I ALWAYS must wear a hat to shade my eyes. I never wore hats up north unless I was cold.

I suspect if media and political celebrities collapse in the middle of a on-air commentary or mid-speech it will be widely reported. Whether it will be honestly reported is an entirely different call. These people will not go quietly.
It is of interest to me that there has been no such public complications in college or pro football. I had been expecting something of that nature. I have not yet thought of a reasonable explanation for this other than the possibility of different vaccine formulations in different countries. That is a speculation based purely on statistical expectation not fact.
Perhaps it’s bursts of speed with intermittent rest compared to soccer being constant running.

My one granddaughter is on a swimming team. I am not sure if they got the shots. Indiana does not seem so strict concerning shots.

That occurred to me as an explanation but football players put tremendous strain on the heart during those 5 second bursts. It would accumulate over the course of a game, especially those big linemen who are carrying tremendous body weights. The oxygen debt would be great. However, it is a reasonable way of looking at the differences in the two sports.
It could easily be a media effect.
American sports media is INCREDIBLY “woke” right now. The “BLM” mind-frack is more obvious there, but it extends to everything else. There are PC bots throughout sports journalism who enforce mantras from PC central, and I’ll bet that one of them is “suppress reports which might create vaccine hesitancy”.
Indeed, the sports media is no different than the political media; they have an agenda that will hide truth as often as they expose it. Football is such a high profile sport in the US that hiding a serious vaccine complication is problematic. In my opinion, the media spotlight is too intense to effectively cover up problems especially if they become frequent.
It’s an interesting problem. My thinking is that football death “breakthrough” will happen in high school and minor college before it will happen in big college or pro sports.
Alternatively, football gives different symptoms and outcomes. Because it is more “non-sustained bursts”, we may need to look for players “taking themselves off the field” followed by retirement, rather than death.
I agree with that. There is a much larger pool from which vaccine injury may arise. Also I would expect high school incidents to lag because of the younger age range involved. Because the high school football season is over those injuries during competition will likely have to wait until the Fall of 2022 to manifest.
I think the billionaire owners of American sports teams are no dummies to the agenda and made sure the team doctors handed out saline shots. And if not the billionaire owners, then the insurance companies who don’t want to payout $10+ million each time a pro-athlete dies.

I was around soccer for over 30 years as a player, coach and referee. At the highest level I did NCAA division I as a referee and assistant and a few MLS friendlies so I got to see the top levels.
We used fitness trackers to measure our performance and I would do any where from 5 to 6.5 miles per game. That is a mix of walk, jog, run, and some sprint. The players would do a little bit more but I was pretty close.
Over all those years the only medical issue we ever received additional training on and protocols for was for concussions. Never anything regarding players collapsing on the field of play. New saw it happen before, including all the years of watching on TV.

At least one of those stories shows prosecution under way. While each separate one of those stories show potential for prosecution, unless an accident can be claimed. So yes, unfortunately Mr Global certainly has the upper hand here.
Then again there’s the matter of vaccines showing up with no inserts. While not a bullet proof defense, someone should have to explain that for each time it was an issue. Possible chance of mitigation and obfuscation there especially if said pharmacist had attempts to rectify that documented. “I’m sorry your honor but in my twenty or thirty years as a pharmacists never have the inserts been missing.” But the prosecution says back, “Your honor this is about administering saline in instead of the poison vax”.
I hope everyone had a joyous Christmas. Mine was peaceful and simple, and made beautiful by a white Christmas which doesn’t happen very often here.
Despite the fire-drill and chaotic nature of things, it was nice to spend Christmas and Christmas Eve among frens.

This indoctrination has been slow. About 10 years ago I attendet a seminar by a Presbyterian Pastor and scholar at Pittsburgh theological Seminary.
The topic was where to find common ground between Christianity and Muslims. I full well understood commonality one finds between mysticism and practices of different religion.
Yes there are some common practices of mystics that brings one into a closer relationship with God and Spiritual awakening. This said while one can learn from each other one can never loose site of the differences and not be lulled into complacency.
Sometimes westerners are taken in by some practices but they never have the same outcome because many religions are also society culturally rooted.
So for instants “a friend became a Buddhist, a Pastor explained and he contracted cancer. Nothing worked and in his desperation he threw himself to the floor and begged Christ for help”.
He could not escape his roots the root of Christ that still was present within him. He turnend back to Christ of his childhood and survived.
Going back to the Universal religion can only happen if our baptize seases and the churches collapse.
My father in law was Catholic and did not practice went with his wife to the Lutheran church.
When he was dying he created a rosary in his mind and prayed it. He even made the different stations in his mind.
The the Universal religion is not going to be as easy as the heathens think.
We as Christians need to fight that just as Satanist fight us.

Small example. In the early 80’s I got in hot water as a manager with a subsidiary of a large energy company most would know today. I had been appointed to their employee controlled (lol – that’s some real BS) PAC. Why? Because I and the President of the PAC rammed through approval of contributions to the GOP opponent of the #4 at the time HR rep. The Dem was slime and the lackey of Ted Kennedy, who I despised with red hot passion. The guy lost his seat because we were not the only ones on the attack. Jimmy Carter’s incompetency had done a number on a lot of down ballot offices. Through his lackey, I was called out by even the President of that subsidiary who later became CEO of the parent corporation, who legally had no right to challenge our actions since it was an employee controlled PAC. The President of the PAC was a year from retirement, so he did not care. But I learned where I ranked in the scope of things. Being young and brash I reminded the lackey of their inability to control contributions due to the law. My term ended on the PAC the next year and I was replaced. Imagine that.
It is a Rock-a-effer controlled, Cabal state.

How can something like a system of belief — ie. religion — be designed as if by committee, with parliament and agendas, as if it were some kind of political thing?

I shared that with Hubby. He loved it. He says the guy playing it actually built it. I thought it was Victorian.
Many years ago, I had the privilege of playing a restored antique glass harmonica. It was at a gathering at the house of the local college’s president. I think the glass harmonica was donated to the college. IIRC, the instrument had 3 octaves. It was also powered by a treadle, like an antique sewing machine. I played the Mozart piece but had to adapt it to suit the shorter range of notes on the instrument. I don’t know what happened to the instrument. I can say that the glass harmonica is incredibly sensitive to the touch — and the sound is 100x more ethereal in real-time playing than in hearing a recording or watching a video (although that gives a good idea).

My sister’s birthday is today .. I know the day after Christmas.
She moved to Montana to live with her daughter. Her husband passed away recently and was sick with dementia. He is a sheep in the Lord’s pasture so he went home.
My sister is the firstborn of seven curmudgeonly kids, as evidenced by the 8×10 “candid” photos our Dad took as practice for his side job as photographer. It’s a banquet of assorted moods/bumps&bruises/missing teeth .. a mix of the three stooges and the Marx brothers, who were continually modified by Mom to “stop hitting your brother/sister” and “I told you to stop that, do I have to go get my switch?!” ..
My sister was good to me and I miss her very much .. 🙂❤️

My oldest son was to come over Christmas Eve with his bride of one year for dinner but he called and said they might not make it as they agreed to watch the little girl of a friend when her Mother delivers her baby, that must have passed by ok but he called a second time with the news that he was exposed to the Chinese curse/flu/variant by a friend who was unaware he had it and my son has to quarantine for 7 days (called on day two a couple days ago) .. ☹️😔 .. he was very disappointed and frustrated/mad because he loves his family and Christmas is very joyful/happy. Both boys go Christmas shopping for Mom and Dad it’s something they really enjoy being able give back .. so he’s mad/sad. Just a note, he and bride are vaxxed/boosted .. and they don’t feel safe. It’s heartbreaking .. 🤨😔

Correction: There is another midcourse correction burn, MCC1b, coming up for “two days after launch”
As it happens, the Ariane deliberately didn’t give it quite enough push to get to L2. This was done so that all corrections would be to add velocity. Any attempt to reduce velocity would force the craft to point the optics and instruments towards the sun, which would fry the equipment fatally. Therefore by design it was under-boosted so every correction would be to add velocity.
The first MCC burn yesterday ran for 65 minutes.
Now moving away from earth at under a mile per second.

We have a number of “in-jokes” around Casa de Cthulhu and several involve rain.

He tried to claim that the reason no two ancient chronologies could agree within centuries of each other was the Julian/Gregorian difference…which is a slippage of 3/4 of a day per century. I told him that he was wrong because of this and he simply got his back up about my say-so and he wasn’t going to go off and research and prove me wrong and blah-blah-blah…
If he couldn’t understand and didn’t know THAT (which any historian ought to), I figured he was probably just a damn phony, and I told him so. I told him I no longer believed anything he had to say on the subject if he couldn’t get something this simple right.

At 3/4 of a day per century, it would take 73 million years for the discrepancy between the two calendars to account for a 1500 year discrepancy in the time lines.
He was trying to claim that they were the reason eastern orthodox claims a creation date of 5500 BC vs. Archbishop Ussher at 4004 BC. And neither would have done the calculation in Gregorian anyway.
And when I called him on it he *refused* to even go look to see if I might be right.
He was totally, completely ignorant about how big (or rather small) the difference between the two calendars. Again any historian would have a grasp of this fact.

Data and logic. When you don’t have adequate data, you take what you have and test using by adding other potentially viable inputs using knowledge and logic for your selections. Then as data you can trust is made available you remove related assumptive data that is incorrect, insert the proven, and keep going.

Same here. I told my wife and she agreed that if he got 25% done of what he said he would, it would be a successful presidency and I could put up with his NY potty mouth and bragging. He was much more polished and thoughtful when he was younger.
I don’t find his voice grate-y, but I was initially unimpressed because his rallies are a lot more casual than most candidate speechifying.
His speech to the RNC was the same way. I actually didn’t disagree much with Hitlary when she characterized it as 70-odd minutes..very odd minutes. (That’s exactly the sort of joke I’d make in her shoes. Which would stay on my feet.)
But I discovered he can deliver an excellent formal speech, when he wants to deliver a formal speech. E.g., Inauguration day. The not-quite-a-state-of-the-union speech shortly thereafter. The one in Poland. And many more.
Oh he can deliver a formal speech but his reading off a teleprompter sucks. He is much better when he does not use a teleprompter.
