I AM the Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11) is the fourth of seven “I am” declarations of Jesus recorded only in John’s Gospel. These “I am” proclamations point to His unique, divine identity and purpose. Immediately after declaring that He is “the door” in John 10:7, Jesus declares “I am the good shepherd.” He describes Himself as not only “the shepherd” but the “good shepherd.” What does this mean?

It should be understood that Jesus is “the” good shepherd, not simply “a” good shepherd, as others may be, but He is unique in character (Psalm 23; Zechariah 13:7; Hebrews 13:20; 1 Peter 2:25; 1 Peter 5:4). The Greek word kalos, translated “good,” describes that which is noble, wholesome, good, and beautiful, in contrast to that which is wicked, mean, foul, and unlovely. It signifies not only that which is good inwardly—character—but also that which is attractive outwardly. It is an innate goodness. Therefore, in using the phrase “the good shepherd,” Jesus is referencing His inherent goodness, His righteousness, and His beauty. As shepherd of the sheep, He is the one who protects, guides, and nurtures His flock.

As He did in declaring that He is “the door of the sheep” in John 10:7, Jesus is making a contrast between Himself and the religious leaders, the Pharisees (John 10:12–13). He compares them to a “hireling” or “hired hand” who doesn’t really care about the sheep. In John 10:9, Jesus speaks of thieves and robbers who sought to enter the sheepfold stealthily. In that passage the Jewish leaders (Pharisees) are contrasted with Christ, who is the Door. Here, in John 10:12, the hireling is contrasted with the true or faithful shepherd who willingly gives up his life for the sheep. He who is a “hireling” works for wages, which are his main consideration. His concern is not for the sheep but for himself. Interestingly enough, the shepherds of ancient times were not usually the owners of the flock. Nevertheless, they were expected to exercise the same care and concern the owners would. This was characteristic of a true shepherd. However, some of the hirelings thought only of themselves. As a result, when a wolf appeared—the most common threat to sheep in that day—the hireling abandoned the flock and fled, leaving the sheep to be scattered or killed (John 10:12–13).

First, to better understand the purpose of a shepherd during the times of Jesus, it is helpful to realize that sheep are utterly defenseless and totally dependent upon the shepherd. Sheep are always subject to danger and must always be under the watchful eye of the shepherd as they graze. Rushing walls of water down the valleys from sudden, heavy rainfalls may sweep them away, robbers may steal them, and wolves may attack the flock. David tells how he killed a lion and a bear while defending his father’s flock as a shepherd boy (1 Samuel 17:36). Driving snow in winter, blinding dust and burning sands in summer, long, lonely hours each day—all these the shepherd patiently endures for the welfare of the flock. In fact, shepherds were frequently subjected to grave danger, sometimes even giving their lives to protect their sheep.

Likewise, Jesus gave His life on the cross as “the Good Shepherd” for his own. He who would save others, though He had the power, did not choose to save Himself. “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28). Through His willing sacrifice, the Lord made salvation possible for all who come to Him in faith. In proclaiming that He is the Good Shepherd, Jesus speaks of “laying down” His life for His sheep (John 10:15, 17–18).

Jesus’ death was divinely appointed. It is only through Him that we receive salvation. “I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own” (John 10:14). Furthermore, Jesus makes it clear that it wasn’t just for the Jews that he laid down His life, but also for the “other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd” (John 10:16). The “other sheep” clearly refers to the Gentiles. As a result, Jesus is the Good Shepherd over all, both Jew and Gentile, who come to believe upon Him (John 3:16).

John 10:11-18  I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

John 10:2-5  But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.

John 10:26-29  But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Psalm 23:1-4 – The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul;  He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

The way I understand it, when you have a large flock of ewes (female sheep) and release rams (male sheep) into them, there is a sort of harness that holds a crayon whose color varies ram by ram. That way, you can tell which rams have mated with which ewes.

By the colors shown in the top picture, it would appear that the red ram is taking the next generation quite seriously, while the black ram is more lackadaisical.

GrammyInD

We never put more than one ram in with the ewes at a time. They would have been too interested in battling each other to do their job. Had 2 rams in adjacent pastures battle it out through the wire fence until one dropped dead. After that we always put a “buffer” group between pastures with rams in them.
The colors can also be used to mark dates so you know when the ewes were bred. A good explanation for other purposes of the marking harness can be found here:

Yes. Here’s that post:

Are you saying that you did not “approve” this Lenida person?

This may have something to do with the post going up in a few minutes.

That is very disturbing.

Ignore the “game of telephone” version I noted, and go with the version from GrammyInD, who seems to know what she’s talking about.

Wyoming Knucklehead

Once again I can not log in. What is it that I do wrong. The last time I stayed logged in all day but then when I logged out then it won’t let me log back in. Any way if you have a real large herd you don’t even use them as it doesn’t really matter what ram the lambs are out of.

We use them as Grammy says if you have registered sheep you have to know what ram there out of so you only put one buck out at a time. With the large herds you put a bunch out at a time and let them go after it, and yes they will sometimes kill each other. But most of the time they will get mostly along.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I’m not sure if bakocarl approved this comment out of moderation, but I didn’t have to approve it, for what it’s worth.

Wyoming Knucklehead

I thought it looked like it posted. I do not know what is wrong with my account. Guess I should have never logged out. But I am not sure what that would do to stay logged in all the time. I have even re posted my new pass word and it still tells me my pass word or name are not OK.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

My recommendation is don’t log out. Kill the browser or tabs, and it will keep you logged in.

Looks like you’re posting now!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Of course that only works if it doesn’t periodically kick you out anyway, which it does for me.

kalbokalbs

Couple times a week, I am booted.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It was intensely frustrating, because I had set a strong password. I’d have to go get my phone, unlock my phone, unlock keepass, type a sixteen character hash of gobbledygook into the screen (and likely get it wrong the first time), and then be rewarded by being sent to my useless effing “dashboard” instead of back to the page I was looking at. Back-arrowing to where I was at put me on a version of the page where I wasn’t logged in, so I’d have to reload (and lose any yellow highlights to tell me what I hadn’t read).

I therefore went to a weak password–it’s a phrase. If you make my life unnecessarily difficult for “security” I’m going to retaliate.

pgroup2

A weak password makes it hard for FIB to plant kiddie pron on your phone and ‘prove’ it was yours. After all, any 12 yo could have hacked your phone and put it in there since the password is not hard.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Hell they probably have a backdoor anyway..they don’t need your password.

kalbokalbs

Backdoor…?

Ya killing me today. 😂 😅 😂

But, I know what ya meant. Or was that one of them double ent…?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It doesn’t get rid of being sent to the dashboard, but at least I don’t have to go hunt for my phone and unlock it and then keepass.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Thanks! That means that wyoming is IN FOR SURE.

GrammyInD

Interesting. And we did raise registered purebreds.

Wyoming Knucklehead

What kind? WE had suffolk and Rambouillet . Started when we were fairly young. I could trim with the best of them. My mom and I showed well after we were all out of 4-H.

GrammyInD

I had Suffolk and my brother Hampshire. Also started as 4-H projects. My mom took over when I went to college and later moved overseas. She expanded the flock which she kept up for another 30 years.

We now just have range sheep. But the ewes are all mostly Rambouillet. But we use both type of bucks on them but only keep the white ewe lambs. Racists 😉

Burglary update — 1-800-PACKRAT has come through with an on-site latch repair, and now the door has TWO locks. Tomorrow, I start work on doing the inventory. Once I have a good handle on my losses, I’ll see about running it through my insurance. Right now, I’m at a $200 table saw, so “no”. I also need to repack and see what was broken.

TheseTruths

I’m sorry that happened to you!

cthulhu

There are a lot of worse things that could happen to me, some of which seem to be in progress. This is an annoyance and scrambling of my momentum.

pgroup2

Don’t forget that I offered you a brand new CPAP machine. You can pay me if you want but it’s yours when I get a mailing address.

Send me an email – pgroup at blarg dot net with cthulhu in the subject line.

cthulhu

I very much appreciate the offer, but that’s flak on an entirely different front and I have reasonable freedom of action there. Mind you, I was stymied on that side until mid-June for a seemingly unrelated reason……but it merely lacks my attention at the moment.

And, yes, my attention is slowly degrading as the lack of deep and REM sleep is making me crazier by the day. Mind you, having a spare CPAP with an expired prescription helped keep this from blowing-up on me already — you really should stash your spare CPAP for your own use (being that it’s programmed for you already) because along with cricketburgers, infant formula shortages, and lack of toilet paper, CPAP machines might just be the next shortage.

OTOH, I would very much like the answer to a question that you might help me with.

Were I to acquire a random BiPAP machine prescribed and dispensed to someone whose prescribed pressures were 16/18 mmHg, how would I get it reprogrammed to my own required pressures of 19/22 mmHg (assuming it were possible, as many machines can’t go above 20)?

I’m currently using my backup CPAP machine, which is close to that, because my previous CPAP was fine. It should be noted that modern CPAPs (I started 20 years ago with Model-T CPAP machines) are all self-adjusting and will get you to the right prescription if it’s allowed in the setup parameters (or the capabilities of the machine — see 20 mm limit above). It was Valerie’s link to a website where “we’ll sell you a CPAP and payoff the MD to say he’s examined you, when we all know the machine will examine you anyway” that has been so helpful.

pgroup2

Adjustments are in the manufacturer’s setup manual, which the user rarely sees. You need to make friends with a respiratory technician.

cthulhu

I’m beginning to suspect that the massive CPAP recall may have been another depop maneuver.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

OUCH!

Is the new lock more substantial than the old one? Or do they find that simply adding a second lock is enough to deter thieves?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

If the locks are strong, they simply kick in the door or smash a window.

cthulhu

This is, essentially, a shipping container — and one of the things I evaluated about using PACKRAT vs. U-haul or Pods is that their boxes were more solidly built.

As it is, my neighbor across the way noted their activity at 4:27 AM. He didn’t call it in because he thought they might be changing a tire or something…..right next to my storage unit….using flashlights.

It’s all about how much time it takes, how much noise it makes, and what their chance of getting caught is weighed against their anticipated haul. Being that these guys seem unimpressed by my collection of antique computers, books, and CD’s, they may be unlikely to return.

cthulhu

They didn’t break the lock on the fourth. They broke the latch that the lock was holding shut. Considering there are scorch marks from the torch they were using, the original lock continues to work well. I have now added a second lock of the same type to a hasp of the closing mechanism (which is what I was using until getting a new latch).

Real security can only be accomplished by removing my possessions from a state that considers thefts of less than $1000 less worrisome than a traffic ticket.

PACKRAT came through for me adequately and appropriately. In this, I am content and grateful. I didn’t know if it was going to require swapping units (which would have meant I would move 5,000 pounds of stuff between the two, as well as playing “musical units” between my driveway and the street [which requires a permit]).

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

OMG, if you could just ship that container to a new abode. Maybe this is your “convincer” for the fiance. Just ship that damn thing to NC and start looking for a new place NOW.

cthulhu

I’ve got one PACKRAT launched — that’s 10,000 pounds of stuff — the limit of a PACKRAT. My original plan was to launch 3 PACKRATS (that’s the capacity of their semis) then follow driving a U-Haul and towing my car… U-haul rentals are completely nuts now, so the current plan is to launch 5 PACKRATS and just drive my car. The PACKRAT on my driveway has about 5,000 pounds of stuff in it (minus whatever was stolen). As each PACKRAT is launched, I have less attachment to this place. Once I am completely launched, the Fiancee can either maintain this place 100% herself, or agree to sell.

I cannot look for a new place until this place is sold. And she has a family curse about real estate.

pgroup2

Maybe the second lock is made of C-4. 😎

cthulhu

I’d considered just casually plugging the metal skin of the unit into 110VAC….it’s unlikely to kill anyone but tends to tingle.

Dr. Malone: Paxlovid Escape Mutations?
https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/paxlovid-escape-mutations

Right now, patients consuming the Pfizer drug as a single agent therapeutic are increasing the risk of spawning resistant escape mutant variants. If you want a case example of how this works – just look to President Biden and his current treatment plan. That is, round three of the current treatment plan. That is two and a half weeks of having circulating virus in his body. That virus is busy evolving to escape the drug and/or his vaccine.

Now, what we learned also from HIV is that the virus mutates so rapidly, that it evolves so quickly, that it evolves right out from under vaccines – particularly in immunosuppressed patients, who do not rapidly clear the virus. Then vaccine escape mutants are generated with are resistant to the vaccine. So, the fact that Paxlovid is prolonging the virus in the body can only lead to more vaccine escape mutants.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Wow! It’s almost like somebody wants this to happen!

Let me put it this way. If SOME NATION figured out that Pfizer is the enemy of humanity, and chose to do something about it, I might actually cheer.

kalbokalbs

Unless I missed something, Pfizer IS an enemy within.

RDS

And the Psxlovid situation adds to the already-existing one of the person who got “vaccinated and boosted” in the first place — the “vaccines” have been altering that person’s DNA, have been forcing that person’s body to constantly make antibodies against the S1 spike protein in the “vaccines”, and have been damaging that person’s natural immune system.

mollypitcher5

Pfizer is the real enemy’s patsy. They’re holding the gun so to speak but at the orders of the globalists who are directing this murder

This is huge:

John 10:26-29 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

And I GIVE THEM eternal life.

I’m not exactly sure how that works, but he’s not saying “I’m handing this out for Pops” – he’s saying I GIVE THEM.

That’s BOLD STUFF, but it explains a lot.

BillBeakman

“…the one having seen Me has seen the Father. How is it you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? I am not speaking the words which I am saying to you[d] from Myself, but the Father abiding in Me is doing His works.”
John 14 9-10

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Wolf approves of this message – and the medium!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

The gun definitely enhances matters. They’re generally worth two Bo Derek points or 2/3rds the remaining distance to 10, whichever is less.

If you’re asking “what gun”? admittedly the effect can be subtle for women whose un-gun-adjusted Bo Derek pointage is already up there.

pgroup2

It ain’t genuine Bo Derek if it lacks white girl corn rows.

FTR, corn rows on white girls is the dumbest looking thing since Admiral Levine got a cabinet post.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah, it’s not Bo Derek, and honestly, I don’t think Bo Derek was a ten. In large part due to the corn rows–and she was too skinny. Maybe some gay fashionista thought that was a good look…but they are gay fashionistas and want women to look like boys.

But the scale was popularized next to her name so I use that name to remind people. In other words, I’m not comparing this fine young woman to Bo Derek, such would be insulting to her.

The movie came out about the same time one of the Voyager craft flew by Jupiter, and some cluelessfuck “science” “reporter” made references to Jupiter’s moon Ten…which of course is “Io” (EYE-oh) misread. (Some of the lesser-sized, later discovered moons of Jupiter still hadn’t been officially named, and were still known by their order of discovery, so there really was a moon ten, but it was denoted with a Roman numeral X.)

That there’s some serious trivia. 😉

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I actually remember it happening. I didn’t see the reporter do it, but I saw others’ comments about it.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Excellent. This sounds like Obama and Biden working a China corruption angle. Biden gets the direct profits. Obama’s people probably invest indirectly, so the money made by Obama can’t be traced.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

These people are totally selling us out.

Brave and Free

Totally agree, thing is that selling out began long before Zero and the basement idiot. They just accelerated it and have no concerns about being caught. Who’s going to do anything about it when Dodge and FIB are benefactor’s too.

TradeBait

^^^ This.

It has been going since at least 1913 and probably before. They would hide it. That stopped actually at least two decades ago. They bought off and converted enough of the people and agencies of government to execute the plan without much concern.

Tonawanda

IMO both Clintons were Maoists, and they started the sell-out/surrender.

marymorse

Related.

Before the transfer of vanadium battery technology, there was coal gasification deals involving Bidens’ partner Eric Sweringin and Seneca Global Advisors, (when Hunter was a lobbyist rather than a venture capitalist?):

Seneca Global Advising is reported as a paid lobbyist for GreatPoint Energy in 2008.

https://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/GreatPoint_Energy

GreatPoint is the client in an email found at SD’s linked Daily Mail report about Joe’s WH meeting with Wanxiang.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11084655/VP-Joe-Biden-met-two-Chinese-energy-execs-West-Wing.html

GreatPoint constructed a demonstration of the USDOE funded coal gasification technology on the site of Dominion Energy in Massachusetts in 2008, that was operational in 2009.

William Barr was elected to the board of Dominion Energy in Dec. 2009.

What does William Barr know about Seneca Global Advisors’ lobbying activity on behalf of GreatPoint while he sat on the board of Dominion Energy?

marymorse

Next question.

What does Barr know about the spying activities of Anthony Pellicano in ATT switchrooms when he was EVP and General Counsel for ATT?

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

This one is difficult because there are times when enemies have to be defeated, or even destroyed, for the safety, well-being, and survival of our families, our country, and humanity.

I reconcile it by thinking that if I have a dispute with a neighbor, I am to wish them well and pray for them, not be spiteful to them and escalate matters. But we are also to have boundaries, and those who cross them intentionally and with malice have to be dealt with appropriately. We can’t let a neighbor invade our home, and we can’t let a country overtake ours. We can still pray that they will turn around and do the right thing and that God will lead them in the direction in which they need to go.

barkerjim

You can pray for their soul, despite any actions you must take.

TheseTruths

Yes!

TradeBait2

Profound truth.

There is discipline associated with violations of all God’s laws. Jesus said He came to fulfill the Law and that of the prophets, not abolish them (paraphrased – Matt. 5:17-18).

Simply, act as Jesus did and you are not in violation. However, the laws are still the laws just as He said. If somebody violates God’s laws as in violence, falsehoods, etc. – you are to address it to restore adherence to God’s laws.

So yes, pray for their soul (and repentance), despite any actions you must take.

Tonawanda

Father forgive them.

pgroup2

It is virtually impossible if one has a holistic view of the situation. Only if the spiritual is separated from the physical can this be done. IMO.

cthulhu

Well, that’s sort of the idea, innit? Take steps to separate their life and soul from their bodies?

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.

AMEN.

Anyone got a photo of an airplane parts at the Pentagon?

I watched all the Alex Jones and other 911 videos – and never saw any plane parts, except at the Pennsylvania site. However, the dates of those photos was not documented.

In addition watched several videos of other large airliners exploding and crashing and they did not seem capable of bringing down whole massive city block sized skyscrapers like the two WTC towers, nor the adjacent bldg WTC7.

Also – the initial video of the Bin Laden raid didn’t match the later ones nor the diagrams of the site released by the media.

IMO – there are reasonable questions – fishy elements – re: both 9/11 and the Bin Laden raid. And plenty of suspicious political reasons for both.

Valerie Curren

I saw what were claimed to be plane parts, sometimes smoking on the street, w/ caution tape around them, on some of the 9-11 videos. Possibly the one by the French Brothers that started as a fire station documentation…Naudet bros? Or it might have been the one compiled from all sorts of eye witness footage, 102 Minutes that Changed America, I think.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

The Pentagram strike was baloney, and I knew it from the beginning. I just didn’t have the courage to admit it against the psychological pressure of the media and our CIA bitch at work.

The strike on the Pentagram was “better done” than the towers, but not by much.

pgroup2

Nice to know we severely differ on this. Doesn’t change a thing regarding my fondness for you or this place.

GA/FL

The initial video of the commandos going through the Bin Laden compound showed what looked like a haha bathroom where the slop jars were just thrown into the room – and feces, etc. were piled up against the back wall. There were also rumors of piles of child porn tapes under BL’s bed. Maybe that’s why SEAL team Six was betrayed and eliminated – as an offering to the MO in exchange for the raid.

GA/FL

All my files about 9/11 are on one of my older computers that I haven’t opened in years. It’s charged and I might look through sometime.

JW in Germany

I do remember photos of airline parts from the Pentagon…even with the American Airlines logo and engine parts.

It has been a few years since I have done any 911 research…but this is one subject where I have serious doubts of the inside job scenario. Every time I go back down this rabbit hole…people start getting pissed off because I am a hard nut to crack on what some call “evidence” of an inside job…to include the twin towers collapse.

Back then, Alex Jones was debunked many times about 911 sometimes even by liberals who hated Bush.

Some of my favorites were the pics of steel girders/beams claimed to have been cut by thermite. As a mechanic that has cut his share of steel, I knew what types of cuts were done to the steel…oxygen and acetylene…absolutely no doubt about it. Yet it was almost impossible to convince those that frequented the truther sites two decades ago.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Having got into tiffs here over some fallacious arguments (i.e., the [alleged?] facts presented were irrelevant to the issue) I feel your pain. (E.g., the ignition temperature of a flammable chemical doesn’t tell you how hot the fire will be, and the melting point of steel also isn’t germane as it goes soft far below that temperature–as I am sure you know.)

JW in Germany

Exactly. Get that steel red hot and bend it into a pretzel if you wish without melting it. I mean how do people think those girders/beams were formed in the first place?

Besides the jet fuel…how much combustible material was inside the towers? TONS OF IT!

But anyway…..

Last edited 1 year ago by JW in Germany

Very interesting JW. I recall seeing a site that claimed that there was significant thermite residue in the debris in NYC. I honestly don’t know. It seems like AND logic Might be in order. Planes were used AND there were explosives placed to ensure that (at least) the Towers came down.

I thought I’d seen Very slowed down video from the Pentagram that showed it was actually a plane that went in…& perhaps light poles or telephone poles that were sheered off in part of the very low plane approach to the Pentagram…

JW in Germany

The sites I saw claiming that thermite was used provided photographs as “proof”…they were 100% oxygen acetylene torch cuts…not thermite.

What gives it away is the pattern left in the cut by shaky moving arms and hands leaving a very jagged edge…this is unmistakable if you know what you are looking at. In this case, I knew what I was looking at.

This is an extreme example to show what I mean…this person has not been cutting very long and has a very shaky hand leaving an extremely jagged edge…but works well for demonstration purposes.

I didn’t see those discussions of the cuts to the beams previously. The site I saw was claiming to have done a decent amount of chemical analysis of the composition of the debris from NYC & that the thermite levels & other chemicals “proved” that explosives had been used. These substances were not (supposedly) from the planes & not expected from normal construction materials, iirc.

JW in Germany

But used where? Any pics of the debris where thermite was used? Also, thermite is normally not used to cut (although it can be for small areas)…instead to fuse metal together…like railroad tracks. Certainly would not leave a jagged edge.

I wouldn’t even begin to know where to find that stuff that I saw before. It was an old-school looking website w/ basic text & colored background. Something that was probably put together within 5 years of 9-11. I don’t recall pictures but they may have had some graphs w/ chemical analysis, iirc.

RF121

This metal will start to soften at 850 F which really does not take much heat. Your standard gas barbeque with the lid closed can get to 550 F.

Valerie Curren

!!!

cthulhu

A self-cleaning oven can get to something like 800 F. I was thinking of firing ceramics in the self-clean cycle and called to ask. The manufacturer was not happy.

Valerie Curren

Because they also sold kilns on the side? 😉

Valerie Curren

The jagged edge on that image looks to me like it might have been broken off by sheer force, as in it doesn’t look like melted steel like appears where the torch is cutting below in a nearly straight line.

JW in Germany

I have also compared demolition videos side by side with the towers collapsing…they do NOT look the same.

People always mention the windows blowing out as the tower collapses as “proof” of demolition explosives.

Absolutely the windows will blow out as the tower collapses even without explosives. All that air that just got displaced from the floor above pancaking down onto the next has to escape somewhere…and it will look like an explosion because of the extreme pressure created by the pancaking of one floor after another. Where else can that air escape except through the weakest barrier…WINDOWS?

As mechanics…we are sorts of scientists. 😎

Valerie Curren

Yes. That is a good point!

Does it feel like the calm before the storm to everybody else lately?

Trying to stay focused on everyday life, but can feel something in the wind.

Aubergine

TB, I agree, something is up.

The pot is simmering and about to boil over, I think.

If things are as weird everywhere else as they are here in my small town, I don’t know how much longer people can take it.

For example, we only have a few choices of fast food here. Like it or not, people want their junk food.

This week it has been extremely hot, way too hot to eat outside. But the local McDonald’s lobby has been closed during the lunch hour several days. The Dairy Queen just reduced its hours and closed its lobby indefinitely. This is high-summer tourist season, and they can’t keep their doors open? It’s bad.

Another problem is the cost of food. I grow many veggies, but not peas. I don’t have enough space, so I buy plain old frozen peas. They are not a pesticide risk, so I don’t even buy organic. The bag of peas I used to buy a couple of years ago for $1.59 was $4.99 yesterday, so I passed. People who don’t/can’t grow things have to be in real trouble.

The price of gas is down a little, but where the pumps were always busy even a month ago when the cost got really high really fast, now the pumps are not busy. People have figured out how not to travel and stopped buying gas, which is, of course, why the price dropped. It does that in a recession.

Meanwhile, housing is so scarce here that people live year-round in RVs and campers, sometimes parked on the street. But let me tell you, that is rough when it gets to 20 degrees below zero, or if it’s 100 degrees. Tempers are running short. People who grew up here can’t find places to live, no matter how much money they make.

A friend of mine, who is the most tolerant of anyone’s politics of anyone I know, and therefore is friends with basically everyone in the world, said to me the other day that liberal people are seeing Biden for what he is, and they hate him. She thinks the politics are swinging HARD back right. And she would know. Even the ones who won’t admit how screwed up it is are disillusioned and depressed. Which is good, in my opinion. They deserve it.

There was a “pro-choice” protest here in town while I was away on vacation. Apparently it was not well-received. There is a lot of tension in the air. People are fed up.

I don’t know what’s coming. But I know this upcoming election is going to be brutal. And if they have the temerity to cheat given current circumstances, I don’t think they will like the backlash that will result. People KNOW. Liberals are disgusted with what they wrought, and are not going to vote for what the Dems are selling. If you are liberal, and all your friends are liberals, and you know YOU didn’t vote for who they “claim” is the winner, what will you think happened?

We “conspiracy theorists” are either going to be vindicated, or they let the elections proceed fairly. They don’t have any other choice at this point. Demoncrats either lose gracefully, or reap the whirlwind. That’s the reality. They’ve created a no-win situation for themselves.

Agreed. If nothing else it allows me to catch my “favorite” mistake which is the vague referent on a pronoun.

Tonawanda

Every election people predict that the election will not be held. This is the first year I take that possibility seriously. A red wave election is just not something the Cabal can allow.

BTW, my wife who works in a grocery store reports the prices going up every day. For example, the store brand cereals (which were a good bargain) are now approaching the cost the name brands used to be, which was too expensive then.

She says they have been out of garbage bags for weeks now, completely, all sizes. We are grateful we started to create a supply of things like that.

Sales have stopped. For example, Progresso soups (which we like) would periodically go on sale for an excellent price per can. Now each can is way above the price we considered too expensive to pay back when the sales made their price affordable.

Deliveries in general continue to be off schedule and partial. They used to be punctual to the minute. Items are spread out on the shelves to make the store look full like normal.

Aubergine

They are doing all those things in the grocery stores here, too.

kalbokalbs

All good news by me. Folks need to get fed up, pissed off, STOP tolerating the ignorance thrust at us…

Aubergine

I agree.

gil00

My strawberries have been disappearing all summer. Fairly high raised bed so i thought if anything field rats. But weve caught most this summer and they have always left them alone. Not seeing slugs either. Too high for bunnies. Stems snipped evenly. Just went out to water and my tomatoes that were just about ripe are gone. Snipped, no little bits as if theyd been chewed.
Guessing i have a neighbor who has been coming in the morning to steal them. They have to walk up the driveway and onto my porch but you can see the tomato from the street.
Mr gil is probably going to buy a security camera when i give him the tomato update too.

Valerie Curren

That’s sad, but surely a sign of some degree of desperation 🙁

gil00

Well maybe, but we are in a middle class area and stealing like that is not worth it. Theyve stolen a good $50 fruit so far. If mr gil catches them, itll really not be worth it.

Valerie Curren

But in California the gov’t won’t pursue charges because it’s less than $1000, right. Hopefully you guys can have some home grown justice.

When we were new in our house our neighbor’s kid broke our basement window accidentally by kicking a ball. Instead of having him pay us the cost of the repair we had him do some yard work as a form of restitution. It worked pretty well, at least back then.

gil00

Yep thats right, $950. And even then its not likely to be prosecuted. Cops can arrest but dont bc they are in the “wont get prosecuted and its too much paperwork ” mindframe.

Valerie Curren

Basically the whole thing just promotes increasing lawlessness…by design apparently! 🙁

Cuppa Covfefe

How about a motion detector and a sprinkler? (with a control inside so you don’t get an extra wash when you go out to check on things)…

Theft might have that $1000.00 limit, but I believe tresspassing is still illegal in Kalifornistan (I hope). A “No Trespassing” sign might be required… (sad that it’s come to that)…

TheseTruths

I once saw a sign on a gate that said, “Smile, you’re on camera.”

pgroup2

I used to have a sign (actually, I had lots of signs) on my auto shop that read, ‘This property guarded by 12 gauge pump shotgun three days per week. You guess which three days’.

Last edited 1 year ago by pgroup2
kalbokalbs

Two of those signs in the yard. Couple ADT signs. Eight cameras around the exterior, recording 24/7.

Paranoid? Nah. A little overkill, perhaps. But, intent is to help any would be dirt bag move on to another target.

Have had a detective ask about my security system, if per chance it caught something at a neighbors place.

Wanted to look at what I had, on a certain date and time frame.

Told him, give me a date, time window, and I’ll look. If something is there, I’d copy it over to a thumb drive and hand it over. Found nothing and told him as much.

gil00

Yeah a non internet camera would be a good ideam

TheseTruths

I would be interested to know what you find out!

Aubergine

Oh, my. That is bad. If that starts to happen here there will be some real issues.

Here’s a little trick for your tomatoes that your neighbor may not know. Once a tomato has even a “hint” of color, the plant cuts off supplying it with anything and focuses its energy on the green ones. You can pick the blushed tomatoes, put them on your counter to ripen (NEVER refrigerate tomatoes, it converts their sugars), and they will be just as if you left them on the plant to fully ripen.

TradeBait2

Exactly what I have done for years successfully, Aubergine.

Aubergine

Works like a charm!

kalbokalbs

That nugget regarding tomatoes is a keeper.

Aubergine

Glad you like it. Hope it helps with the problem!

gil00

I did NOT know that. Is that for any size? My biggest atm are romas.

Aubergine

Any size, any tomato. And the never refrigerate them thing is mostly why grocery store tomatoes don’t have any taste. They just “have to” keep them cold, which ruins them.

singingsoul1

How irritating you loosing your strawberries and tomatoes.

My Raccoons are back eating grapes spitting out the pits and skin.
I am picking the rest maybe in a couple of days to make some jelly.

gil00

Good you have something left. My squash came up, bloomed 1 nonedible fruit, then died. Just pulled a tomato out thats died. At least my strawberries are sending out plenty of new feelers. My goal is to have them fill in my planter next to the front porch.

singingsoul1

Good for you 🙂

TradeBait2

Example – local leftist fakebook trashtalkers are gone – silent. Those that rubbed it in after the steal for months have disappeared.

Even here in east TN we are seeing similar things in the economy, Aubergine. Every business needs workers desperately, while shelves continue to be emptied – which is strange. Why hire if you have less to sell unless it is because of rapid staff turnover. The fuel prices are silly stupid and are beginning to take a toll on business and traffic. I have been detecting a frenzy to vacation and buy things before it all tanks.

Everybody should know by now that the CPI increase they announce monthly is a big fat lie.

Everybody should know by now that credit card balances are at their highest level since the 2008 when they contributed to the debt markets collapse.

Used cars are now beginning to bloat car dealers lots – at extraordinarily high prices driven up by a lack of supply to meet demand 1-2 years ago with the chip shortage in new cars. Receiving loads of inquires wanting us to buy at reduced prices from a few months ago. Demand is down, people are making do. As jobs are lost and rates get higher, the debt market collapse will hit auto financing programs and repos – which reduces sales of autos even more.

Everybody should know by now the residential real estate sales prices peaked at absurd levels – just like 2008. Which are headed back down again with the increase in interest rates. Once again, families dependent on two incomes to make higher payments for higher cost housing becomes another debt market collapse in the making. One loses their job, cannot make the high mortgage payment. Cannot afford the artificially higher rents either.

The Fed and politicians exploded the money supply to supposedly get out of the debt market collapse of 14 year ago. Inflation has gone wild. How do they get out of it this time with much higher trending interest rates with an already hugely over-bloated money supply?

IMO – they don’t. Depression coming if PDT does not go back in and he does not lead them to killing the Fed dead as a doornail.

Everybody should know by now that the labor participation rate is a better economic indicator than the employment rate. Which is also trending down sharply.

Church attendance is way up. More new faces in our congregation than we have seen in a long time. People are truly scared and you can tell by how they conduct themselves.

FWIW, GOP as well as conservative independents in the non-partisan races around here are running the tables with rare exceptions. The area has always been mostly red, but it has become a much deeper shade lately.

After the Roe v Wade SC decision there were a few “protests” in Knoxville with the lefties that had help from college kids and agitators for a few days. That’s over. The local media has even stopped beating the drum as they got no traction at all.

Aubergine

A lot of this is the same here.

You might laugh, but my saving grace in all of this is, since I left the relative wealth and prosperity of my parents home when I was 18, I’ve always been broke! Well, except for a brief interlude of a couple of years married into “extreme” wealth. Those people were the most miserable SOB’s I’ve ever known. Anyone who says you can buy happiness…

Anyway, being broke all the time means number one: I know how to be broke; and number two: it’s not as scary or painful for me.

Being broke means knowing a few things:

1) How to cook with less expensive meat. You can’t grill bottom round. That’s why chicken fried steak was invented!

2) How to shop for things at second-hand stores.

3) How to coax a 17-year-old car into lasting another few years.

4) How to entertain yourself on a shoestring budget.

The list goes on, but you get the point. People who are accustomed to filet mignon, shopping at Nordstrom, getting a new car every couple of years, and vacationing in the Bahamas are going to feel the shock far more than I.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I’ve never actually heard anyone claim money can buy happiness.

It can, however, take the edge off of miserable conditions, which does help. (Even if you’re fundamentally happy, tis better not to have a growling stomach all the time.)

Now there are certainly people with very expensive tastes who won’t be happy with less, and for them, I suppose, money staves off a certain form of unhappiness. And who hasn’t fantasized about a fancy car or a larger house with a yard and neighbors not three feet away, or something like that–the sorts of things which you can’t get without money.

Would such things make truly miserable, shrunken souls happy? No, but it might hide their own condition from themselves–for a while.

pgroup2

Very wise thoughts. ThanQ.

Aubergine

I must know a different sort of person. I know many people who think that money will make them happy, and are in constant pursuit of more of it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

They might not realize how they look to us.

Your story makes you – you. Loved reading it. 👍

Did not come from money at all. So I have done many survival type things.

When I stopped chasing money and started chasing what the Lord would have me do, the money later found me. But money was not the motivation at all.

Aubergine

Thank you, TB. I really enjoy your “story” as it unfolds, too.

I long ago decided that I was not meant to have money, and I am fine with that. I am very rich in family, friends, and talents. I am a truly blessed person, and I know it full well.

TradeBait2

Money is not a qualifier for happiness and blessing as you learned. I never made money mine, it just came when I used my gifts for God’s glory instead of my own. So it came from Him, not me. So I use it the way he leads me to today.

Money is a tool, not an end goal. For example, if a person has the Biblical gift of giving, money can be given with wisdom and discernment to help others in a way that brings glory to God.

You go with learning what your gifts and purpose are as revealed by Him and do what is right for you using the tools that fit. Sounds like that is exactly what you did. That makes you successful with what really matters.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I had an economics teacher once who would ask his class what money was.

There was always someone who would call out “the ultimate end” (either in earnest or as a joke). And he’d offer to lock them up in a bank vault with a huge pile of money and nothing else. They got the point pretty quickly.

By that logic, money isn’t the ultimate end, but it’s the ultimate means.

In fact, with sufficient money you can probably accomplish quite a different number of things. It won’t buy happiness–well, maybe if you can fund research for a cure for the fatal disease the love of your life has, it might do that…but that’s iffy (and so are other similar scenarios). But as pointed out, it won’t make a man with a sick soul happy.

Media companies hire based on looks; even a (hypothetical) good media company would have to do this–you’d better be a good journalist with looks.

Women with good looks are so used to getting better treatment than those who are ‘merely’ average, they don’t even realize in their guts that it’s special treatment.

Take it away from them. That’s their weakness, putting them in front of people for whom their looks cut no ice.

Or perhaps the blood antibodies “prove” the release of various biological agents regionally. It’s like the blood provides a road map to cabal crimes, imo.

If some of the labs were bombed or somehow damaged to allow virus to escape, I could imagine people in the immediate area could be infected…not much different than low explosive bomblets aka cluster munition used by military to disperse chemical and biological weapons.

If depopulation is the goal, there may be a very purposeful release of these agents among civilians knowing that many of them will escape war as refugees to other countries…spreading whatever they are carrying.

I do not put it past the global cabal to do something like this.

I believe that the whole thing has been part of the NWO long plan.
The cia and eu both trying to take over ukraine and succeeding with the color revolution. The eight years of attacks on the DPR and LPR trying Putins patience until they pushed him till he responded with force. The eu could easily and properly stayed nuetral and not thrown fuel onto the fire. They could have paid for gas in Rubles, it’s no big deal after all the seller makes the rules. During the lockdown some shops declined cash and would only accept card payment, similar thing. The western governments are deliberately causing shortages in goods and energy, bringing their countries into ruination as part of their NWO plan, and trying to blame it on the war in ukraine and Putin, well it won’t wash, not with me anyway.

http://www.theburningplatform.com/2022/08/07/mrna-platform-inventor-sifts-through-the-lies/

This is a Dr. Joseph Mercola article. The Burning Platform is the place to read the piece after today or tomorrow, since Dr. Mercola removes access to articles on his own site after 48 hours unless one is a subscriber.
It appears, “reading between the lines” of what Dr. Malone is saying about certain things, like his invention of the original mRNA technology platform and how it was later used by a couple of other scientists in ways without his permission to craft the current mRNA use in the COVID-19 “vaccines” — that there’s some sort of “character assassination” thing going on behind the scenes against Dr. Malone.
Dr. Malone makes it clear that the upcoming trivalent COVID-19 “vaccine”, approved by the FDA last month to roll out THIS FALL WITH NO PREVIOUS CLINICAL TRIALS, will be “more dangerous.” This “vaccine” will contain mRNA from the original Wuhan strain, plus the mRNA of Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5.
FTA, from Dr. Malone regarding the upcoming trivalent COVID-19 “vaccine” —
“Typically, when you do this [combine multiple strains of virus into one shot, as is done with the influenza vaccine], you maintain approximately the same dose of each antigen, so that would be, in the case of Pfizer, we’re going to go from 50 to 150 micrograms of RNA in a job. Let’s hope they don’t do that. But if they only double the dose, then we know that the adverse events are going to go up considerably.’ (bolding mine)

This increase of mRNA in the upcoming trivalent COVID-19 “vaccine” was discussed on the board here last month.
And this new “vaccine” will be used WITHOUT IT HAVING GONE THROUGH ANY CLINICAL TRIAL OF ANY KIND. The people getting this “vaccine’ WILL BE THE “CLINICAL TRIAL.”

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

This kind of behavior is explainable as a linear combination of two things:

  • depopulation shot by the deep planners, doubling down on the spike protein plan which is WORKING
  • inability of the “committed” under them to back out of the plan, having already “gone too far” to make the early shots happen

This is typical diabolical stuff. The “minions” are toast, so they stick with the fire.

Yes, the puppies are so used to having companions to play with. I guess Brownie, the first one, went alone. That family has a little boy and a cat that hates the puppy! Flight tracking exposure irks billionaires and baddies
https://techxplore.com/news/2022-08-flight-tracking-exposure-irks-billionaires.html

How to upset Russian freight companies, Elon Musk, Chinese authorities and Kylie Jenner in one go? Track their jets.

Flight following websites and Twitter accounts offer real-time views of air traffic—and sometimes major news like Nancy Pelosi’s Taiwan trip—but that exposure draws pushback ranging from complaints to gear seizures.

Whether Russian air freight firms, Saudi Arabian plane owners or others, Dan Streufert said his group gets dozens of “requests” each year to stop posting aircrafts’ whereabouts.

“We have not removed anything so far. This is all public information. And I don’t want to be the arbiter of who’s right and who’s wrong,” added Streufert, founder of the US-based flight tracking site ADS-B Exchange.

Limits do apply in some cases, but groups that piece together the flight paths note that the core information source is legally available and open to anyone with the right gear.

US rules require planes in designated areas be equipped with ADS-B technology that broadcasts aircraft positions using signals that relatively simple equipment can pick up…

Figuring out or confirming to whom a plane actually belongs can require some sleuthing, said jet tracker Jack Sweeney, who filed a public records request with the US government that yielded a form bearing the signature of a particular plane’s owner: Tesla boss Elon Musk.

Sweeney has gotten quite a bit of attention with his Twitter account that tracks the movements of the billionaire’s plane and even rejected Musk’s offer of $5,000 to shut down @ElonJet, which has over 480,000 followers…

Wow, this is rough. I both hope and don’t hope it’s real.

TheseTruths

If it’s real and all the pharmacist could say is, “You might not have let your son get the vaccine if we had told you the possible side-effects,” then there should be h3ll to pay all across the medical industry.

Aubergine

YES.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

On The Other Hand.

Imagine, for a moment, that the vax is actually legit. Legit vaxes all have small chances of nasty side effects. It’s up to you to decide whether that small risk is worth it to avoid whatever-it-is you’re being vaxed for.

If some doctor simply lists off all of the possible side effects of the vax, without reference to how unlikely they are, then it’s true–some people won’t get it if they should, and the only reason they didn’t was poor presentation.

So then, one might say, explain the chances. That will work for some people, but, frankly not all. They’ll simply hear “major issue” and say NO WAY even if it’s a billion to one chance against. A lot of people have no gut understranding of probability. They think they will win the Powerball if they just keep trying. (In principle that’s true, but it’s more likely to take a million years than twenty.)

Medical practitioners see people of every intelligence level, and the people who’d be scared off by a legit and realistic list of side effects for a legit vaccine probably outnumber those who can say, “OK, million to one against? I’ll take that risk versus a disease I’ll likely get and which will kill me 0.1% of the time.” It doesn’t help that our education system is absolute shit and doesn’t prepare people for this, but honestly, we here are vastly more intelligent than the typical patient. What seems like stuff “anyone should understand,” to us, isn’t. We cannot forget this.

Again, I’m talking about a legit vax against a legit disease. They’d not tell people, for these reasons.

Last edited 1 year ago by SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA
TheseTruths

I understand, but they are making a medical decision for the patient(‘s parents), to whom no information was given.

They’ll simply hear “major issue” and say NO WAY even if it’s a billion to one chance against.

That’s me, LOL. Is it worth taking that chance?

But the bigger issue, IMO, is that scientific facts are being covered up in general, not just at the point of vaccination. If there’s supposedly a one-in-a-billion chance of getting myocarditis, but I’ve seen reports of five boys getting that within the last two weeks, it’s going to make me pause.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yes. I plead guilty to focusing on just one bit of the scenario out of context.

I can readily imagine a legit pharmacist, with a legit vax against an actual deadly disease choosing to self-censor himself to get people to take the dang vax. I was simply focusing on that; the mere fact that he said what he said doesn’t convict him of knowingly pushing something bad.

Jabbing a kid without at least an attempt at informed parental consent is beyond the pale.

As for the billion to one chance…sure, you do NOT do that if you’re weighing it against no potential harm.

But if it’s a disease that will kill 1 out of 100 who get it (who are similar to you), and there’s probably no way you’ll avoid catching it at some point–the 1 in a billion hazard from taking the vaccine looks a lot better doesn’t it? You’re reducing your chances of dying to 1/10,000,000 what they were before.

(Mind you this WASN’T true of Covid, which had a highly variable death rate depending on a host of factors; most of us had no particular reason to worry about it, but it IS the way Covid was advertised, probably because they knew if they presented it that way, taking the shot would look rational.)

TheseTruths

The scenario of there being a vaxx that works against something deadly like Ebola has occurred to me. I’m hoping the need for that kind of decision doesn’t play out in real life.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Before the covidschina, I visited a third world country.

I happily submitted to SEVEN vaccinations. Then went and got the boosters a few months later. I need never worry about hepatitis A and B, for instance.

I wouldn’t, today…not without positive knowledge of what I was getting at the very least. (“Gee. doc, I didn’t know “dengue fever” was spelled C-O-V-I-D” I say looking at the label on the vial.)

Aubergine

True story.

Years ago, I had an appointment with a dermatologist just as a skin check. While I was there, I mentioned I had a bit of nail fungus on one toe. It bugged me, but it was not serious.

The doctor said, oh, we have a medicine for that! It was an oral anti-fungal. I of course said, what are the possible side effects?

She said, none, really. I said really? She said yes.

She prescribed. When I got home I looked up the medicine and holy shit. There was a one in 100,000 chance of losing one’s sense of taste, or smell, or both, and it was PERMANENT. For a FUCKING TOE.

I would have had the damned thing amputated rather than risk losing the taste of steak and red wine for the rest of my life! I put that medicine in the “unused meds” dump at the police department the same day.

Doctors need to explain the damned risks. Pharmacists have NO BUSINESS giving vaccines or any other shots. They are NOT QUALIFIED to do so. Period. The fact that they can is bullshit.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah, now there a case where the risks do NOT balance. 1/100,000 chance of permanent damage, against something that’s essentially cosmetic? I’d do what you did.

But the real point is that the doctor freaking lied.

Had an amusing thing happen today. I went to Trader Joe’s to restock a case of “everyday wine”. Mind you, I’ve done wine tastings, sommelier-led flights, and I have a library of good wine…..but I also keep a box of wine around that answers the question, “what wine goes with fast-food or microwaved frozen food?” It had gotten low, so I was buying another case.

When the Mediterranean was a Roman lake, the Romans developed and planted a series of easy-to-grow, prolific-bearing, tasty, fast, and foolproof wine grapes. In Spain, it was Tempranillo; in Italy, it was the Sangiovese; in what would later be Yugoslavia, it was what would later be called Zinfandel; in France, it would be Syrah, and so on. These were to be harvested as they came ripe, and made into wine. Far from vintage, these were the types of wine where it might be said, “that was a good week.”

This is NOT your Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Pinot Noir. They are meant to be drunk young and not cellared — and you can pick up a nice variety from TJ’s for about $4/bottle.

So I pick 12 and a box to put ’em in, go up to the cashier, and the assistant asks me if these are any good. I said, “they’re not bad, and answer the question of what wine goes with burgers” and turn to the cashier just as he says, “your total is $67 and *mumble, mumble* cents”.

When I’m distracted, I lose my manners, so I blurted out “no, it isn’t.”

Both looked somewhat shocked, so I explained, “it should be $52 or $53 or thereabouts.”

Now, for me, it was just obvious that $4/bottle x 12 in a box is $48, and Random Nuisance’s take would be about another $5, but they seemed shook. I said that I couldn’t help it, I was (despite appearances) a CPA. I pointed out that the box had been in a formal inventory because there was an inventory check with an audit bar across the check. They eventually figured out that they’d somehow rung up 15 bottles to fit in a 12-bottle box.

It’s nice to know my mental faculties haven’t been so degraded.

The story of stalking Zinfandel is fascinating. It popped up in California under that name, and such was the historical upheaval on the Balkan Eastern shore of the Adriatic, its original name had long-ago been lost.

Good for you 🙂

Another discussion I frequently have in TJ’s is about California wine and UC Davis.

Years before anyone had heard of Napa, Robert Mondavi and other winemakers poured big bucks into the UC Davis Enology Department [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UC_Davis_Department_of_Viticulture_and_Enology ]. The facility is world-class, and has instrumentation that goes far beyond what most nations can afford. They can gene-sequence the vines and yeasts and run gas chromatography 24/7.

Back in the 70’s, IIRC, Gallo got some UCD grad students to run batches of “wine” that actually contained no grapes, but were chemically altered to seem grape-like. Allegedly, some of these were sold in volume. It is a testament to the skill level at UCD that this was possible.

Apparently “Falernian” was the “good stuff” in Rome. At least, the good middle class stuff, who knows what the high end patrician families like the Julii drank. It would cost maybe five times what the local swill (suitable for adding to water to make the water safe to drink) did.

As I understand it wine was mostly used to sterilize drinking water, at least by the general population. However, it’s very hard to find historical sources among the general population (or any women of any class) as they were generally not literate and had no leisure to write in, in any case.
