I disagree with Schlichter that Vance needs to be “beaten up” in the primaries to “prove” him or to prepare him. Vance already knows how to handle all sorts of people. He wiped the floor with Commala in the last VP debate, We’ve had enough strife. I’d love to see us continue on the winning path and just get on with it.
I’m in-between. As Schlichter points out, “….it’s not just the candidate, but his organization. You can’t win without a functioning team, and teams take time to build. Some people aren’t going to be able to hack the jobs you give them, and you’re going to have to replace them. All of them have learning curves. Their curves need to be learned well before the home stretch.”
I think Vance is getting plenty of practice with the adversarial press and enemies foreign and domestic, although it wouldn’t hurt him to do a bit of sparring with Pence or Cruz. But it might do a great deal of good to shake down his surrogates, representatives, campaign staffers, and field personnel before the contest goes national.
I don’t think he needs to do any major tussling with Rubio or DeSantis. He’s going to need the former to run Venezuela, the National Archives, Cuba, and Persia, and he may need the latter to shape up Minnesota, Alberta, and Oregon.
I have no idea how it could/would work. I can’t imagine there being no primary challengers. But just say there won’t be any. I don’t see why Vance would not have the exact same amount of time to get a functioning team together as he would if he had challengers. The second that Vance files to run, he will be working with his team. IMO they will be able to get more done without the distractions of having to battle someone on their own side. And Vance will be able to see how they work in any case.

Basically. I’m at the tail end Finally 🙂 He battles all kinds of physical issues, including vertigo. I got a taste of that over a couple of days & I’m like how the Heck does he handle this too? It was crazy weird & even impacted my thinking. He has to be careful of what he eats, especially “late” at night. Lots of tweaks to his overgrown teenage existence. He’s just shy of being as complicated as Josiah! But I’m still up for the challenge! 😎

That was 25 years ago. I was told I would have to take Acid reducers and did a hard pass on that. Getting wheat out of my diet made the problem go away permanently.

Vertigo is no joke. Mine was cured by a physical therapist who specializes in it.
If you can find one for your husband, there is a chance it could be eliminated. The one I saw used a special headset on me so she could watch my eyes magnified on a screen to diagnose the cause of my vertigo. It was amazing.
Vertigo can have many causes, including brain tumors, which they can see watching the reactions of your eyes to movement of the body. One of the causes is a crystal loose in an ear canal.
There are six canals in the ears, three on each side. If they determine that is the cause, they can tell which canal it’s in, and they put your body through maneuvers to “move” the crystal, curing the vertigo. She fixed me in one day!

Bread baking to be healthy need to be a minimum needs to be two or three day process. The sourdough starter is a life organism needs time to process the sugar and starch. My relationship the way I look at grain the sourdough starter the flour has changed. I eat bread again no weight gain no stomach issues my husbands AC is stable no spikes.
I also is cook Amaranth and Buckwheat for breakfast and feel I am building mussels and am stronger. I bought Emmer in place of rice.
I have been into ancient grains for years and expanded to better understanding.

To start with, you are entirely correct that the system will not reach down to the elderly.
If you are interested in doing some good for your country and using skills they don’t teach any more in a place that was nearly abandoned, you’ll have to reach up. If you do, you may just find that new things are happening that can use old skills. It might be that getting an X from A to B while appearing to get a Y from C to D is particularly in demand these days…..and the old forgotten ports and shippers still have a heartbeat despite having dropped off the radar.
It may even be worth a buck or two.

I had a really good logistics person when I was working with custom semiconductors. She could get trade-show stuff onto the show floor before our people could get situated in the right city, despite taking “direct flights”. It involved a network of people, a lot of arcane knowledge, some “secret passageways”, and horsetrading. I’ve seen it do things I thought were impossible and I have every respect for its practitioners.
I should note that there are “big logistics”, like moving an AC group — this cannot be effectively hidden and involves big stuff.

Big or small, logistics is an overlooked skill. Either you have it or you don’t and I wonder if it can even be taught.

One of the very first things you learn if you take a concealed carry course is that your best defense is to be aware at all times and sniff out/avoid dangerous situations before they happen, and leave.
I find that veterans and ex-LE are particularly attuned to this. It’s why people like me, when being seated in a restaurant, always try to get the seat where your back is to the wall and you can see the entire dining room, including the entrance. I’ll also try to make sure I know where the back exit is.
Some may call that paranoid. I call it common sense, and on more than one occasion I have simply got up and left public spaces because I sense trouble brewing.
Better safe than sorry.
But this is not common sense to some people. Those people usually have lived oblivious lives where the height of actual danger they have ever faced is cutting their finger chopping onions.
These are the people Democrats recruit to their “protests” as useful idiots—protests where danger lurks around every corner.

Come to think of it I caught and moved 4 black snakes this last fall when we had so much rain. They ranged from 4 ft to well over 6 ft in length. They had decided our side porch and door frame was a good place to hang out. My guests were afraid of snakes so I had to move them.

a few years ago, my granddaughter ( she was probably 10 at the time) and I encountered the pesky garter snake living beneath this stone patio area we couldn’t enjoy because of said snake. (When excavating for the house foundation, the contractor pulled out several large flat rocks and put them aside for us to later make that patio area.)
She picked up a few pebbles and proceeded to hit the snake on the TOP of its head EVERY time. she then chased it, still throwing pebbles–still hitting it–till it disappeared into the tall grass way behind the house.
She then decided we needed to insert a rock too large for the snake to move into the hole it had.
We haven’t seen that snake since…LOLOL AND my granddaughter is on the track team–javelin, discus, and shot put are her events.
How cool that her school had Javelin!!! My daughter did discus & shot put but javelin wasn’t even an option 🙁 or ALL of my kids would have wanted to be in that event!!!

Garter snakes are interesting. Surprisingly, they are both super-mildly venomous (toward worms, slugs, frogs, etc., being swallowed – not in defensive bites) AND they absorb toxins from toads, salamanders, etc., making their livers toxic to predators.

i have a strict snake policy. we live on over a hundred acres of woods. If they give me the acre around the house snake free–they can do whatever they want on the other part.
As long as they are not poisonous I do not care.

I’ve just haven’t seen many snakes in the wild. I saw one that was about 3 feet long in Florida once, when we were staying at the Tahiti on the Ocean on Singer Island, near West Palm Beach.
It just slithered across the walkway, a few feet in front of me, and disappeared into the brush. It was all black if I remember correctly. No idea what it was.
But I didn’t go chasing it down to ask it, either 😁

Very likely a “common water snake” – which are everywhere. They bite like crazy, but their bites are like 100 pin-pricks, scratching the skin and drawing a few tiny droplets of blood. But they are well-adapted for grabbing slick and slimy prey and holding on. They love minnows and frogs. They are nervous and unfriendly, and make terrible pets!

The insufficiency of sacrifices for taking away sin, The necessity and power of the sacrifice of Christ for that purpose. (1-18) An argument for holy boldness in the believer’s access to God through Jesus Christ, And for steadfastness in faith, and mutual love and duty. (19-25) The danger of apostacy. 19-25 The apostle having closed the first part of the epistle, the doctrine is applied to practical purposes. As believers had an open way to the presence of God, it became them to use this privilege. The way and means by which Christians enjoy such privileges, is by the blood of Jesus, by the merit of that blood which he offered up as an atoning sacrifice. The agreement of infinite holiness with pardoning mercy, was not clearly understood till the human nature of Christ, the Son of God, was wounded and bruised for our sins. Never having attempted to take a suitcase fuil of cash through an airport, I don’t know how this works. I’m guessing it could easily go undetected unless every suitcase were x-rayed or something. The other discussion says, “so long as legislators are ‘acting in the sphere of legitimate legislative activity,’ they are “protected not only from the consequence of litigation’s results but also from the burden of defending themselves.”
That video had nothing to do with “the sphere of legislative activity.” Further, Kelly is not having litigation brought against him. Instead, he is being demoted. So while Kelly might want to bring litigation himself, his demotion is not prohibited by the speech and debate clause.

It only took about ten seconds of googling to locate Representative Anna Paulina Luna’s (R-Fl) criminal referral to the DOJ. She even posted a press release about it last July, and the title would have been extremely helpful to any reporter trying to find answers: “Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Refers Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for Criminal Investigation Over False Testimony.”
And there it was. Unlike the Times’ useless article, Luna’s July 2025 press
release explained: (1) when Powell lied to Congress; (2) exactly what he said that wasn’t true; (3) which documents proved the Fed Chair lied under oath; and (4) which specific laws he allegedly broke, right down to the statute number (to wit: perjury and making false statements to federal officials).
The dustup centers on the Federal Reserve’s hyper-luxury $2.5 billion renovation of its headquarters building. According to Rep. Luna, the project includes swanky features like a VIP dining room, private elevators, a yoga retreat, premium marble, Disneyesque water features, and a rooftop arboretum where stressed fed governors can blow off steam by hunting kidnapped taxpayers.
During his sworn Congressional testimony, Powell denied that any of those features were included in the “final plans.” But Ms. Luna found the final plans and, contrary to Powell’s claims, dang it, the sumptuous features were right there. Thus: five Pinocchios.
Powell’s video mentions none of that helpful background. He didn’t even bother denying he said it or trouble himself to claim that it was true when he did. The Times could have checked Ms. Luna’s claims and debunked them, or at least asked Powell to comment on them. But nope. According to the Times, it’s just a feud.
Powell’s sudden and unexpected investigation is just the latest example of ammunition the Trump Administration quietly held in reserve throughout the second half of 2025— and only fired now, in the first two weeks of 2026. They’re surging.
Powell’s tenure as Fed Chair expires in May, though he could still cling on until 2028 as one of the twelve Fed governors.
But if the DOJ develops evidence that Powell did lie, it would give Trump “cause” to legally fire him. Just saying.
