On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, we can find something here that will build us up a little . . . give us a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God;
do not mourn nor weep.” . . .
“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet,
and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared;
for this day is holy to our Lord.
Do not sorrow,
for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

One Nation Under God

The saying “one nation under God” is a part of the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States of America. An early version of the pledge was composed in 1885 by Captain George Thatcher Balch. Balch was an officer in the Union Army during the Civil War who wanted to find ways to teach patriotism to young children in the public schools. A few years later, in 1892, Francis Bellamy, a Baptist pastor from New York, significantly revised and expanded Balch’s original pledge in an effort to promote the 1893 World Fair. This version of the pledge went largely unaltered for decades when Congress officially adopted it in 1942 at the start of World War II.

However, the saying “one nation under God” was not a part of Bellamy’s pledge (the original draft simply stated, “One nation, indivisible”). In fact, Bellamy staunchly believed in the separation of Church and State and intentionally did not include any references to God in the pledge. It wasn’t until 1954 under the direction of President Eisenhower that the words “under God” were added to the pledge. This was mostly due to the growing fear of communism throughout the United States during the Cold War.

The inclusion of the phrase under God was meant to reaffirm America’s heritage as a predominately Judeo-Christian nation in the face of looming global threats (especially ones that were derived from atheistic, materialist worldviews such as communism). Having just come out of World War II, and with the Cold War in full swing, President Eisenhower sought to unify the nation and proclaim trust in God against destructive, godless forces.

In short, the saying “one nation under God” is simply the call of a citizenry to be a unified nation that trusts God to protect them from harmful and evil forces.

Is it wrong to pledge your allegiance to the country in which you are a citizen? No, the Bible does not forbid such an action. In fact, unity among the citizenry of a nation is a good and virtuous thing to pursue, so long as that nation is not directly contradicting the Word of God in its governance.

Ultimately, as Christians, our allegiance is to God alone. His Word is to be the ultimate authority in our lives (Joshua 1:8; 2 Timothy 3:16–17) as we seek to be good citizens of our nations (Matthew 22:21; Romans 13:1–3; Titus 3:1). In fact, the Bible puts a strong emphasis on being unified as God’s people as we live and interact with one another in our daily lives (John 17:11; Romans 15:5–6; Ephesians 4:3). So, in a nation like the United States where the majority of people identify as Christian, being “one nation under God” would be a natural outflow of living according to the biblical commands for unity.

In God We Trust

“Nothing can be more certain than that our country was founded in a spiritual atmosphere and with a firm trust in God” These words were pronounced by Florida Representative Charles Bennett in 1955 on the House Floor as he proposed a bill that would require the words In God We Trust to be inscribed on all U.S. currencies. The bill was eventually signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on July 11, 1955. While In God We Trust had previously appeared on coins since after the Civil War, Bennett’s legislation codified the inscription on U.S. currency and led to a later act of Congress making the phrase In God We Trust the national motto of the United States of America.

While the exact phrasing of In God We Trust does not appear in the Bible, there are many passages that exhort readers to trust in the Lord. Solomon instructs his readers to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Isaiah records a song that includes the encouragement to “trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord we have an everlasting Rock” (Isaiah 26:4, NASB). David adds that people should “offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the Lord” (Psalm 4:5, NASB). There are many similar instances in Scripture challenging people to trust in the Lord.

We also discover many instances in the Bible where people exemplified the saying In God We Trust. Jesus trusted His Father (Hebrews 2:13). Daniel trusted in God and was delivered from the lions’ den (Daniel 6:23). Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, also trusted in God, and He delivered them from the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:28). David wrote that God doesn’t forsake those who have trusted in Him (Psalm 9:10).

On the other hand, there are numerous biblical warnings against trusting in anyone but God. Job explained that trusting in wealth is an iniquity tantamount to denying God (Job 31:24–28). Solomon cautions that the one trusting his own heart is a fool (Proverbs 28:26). Jeremiah records God’s warning against trusting in humanity: the one who trusts in “flesh” is like a bush in the desert, while the one who trusts in the Lord will be like a tree planted by water (Jeremiah 17:5–8).

In saying that people should trust Him, God is not saying that people should not trust each other. In fact, the kind of love He expects us to show “believes all things” and “hopes all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7, ESV). The warning is about trusting in humanity rather than trusting in God. The problem is that the heart is deceitful and sick, and the only one who understands the depths of that depravity is God (Jeremiah 17:9). He is the only One who is worthy of our full trust. If we trust in God—like the people of old who could say, “In God we trust”—we will not be disappointed (Psalm 22:5).

I decided to watch fireworks on YouTube instead of walking outside. It has been a bit of a stressful day.

Wolf Moon

Good idea!

pgroup2

It’s finally dark enough for fireworks here in the Puget Sound.

In Anchorage the sun doesn’t set until 11:30 pm local time. So their fireworks can’t start until about 1:00 am.

Gail Combs

Here in NC sunset is 8:30 pm and it gets dark at 9:00 pm

Wolf Moon

An excellent lesson! Thank you, Carl!

I love to say “In God We Trust” – but there’s more to it than just those words, and this lesson helps explain the details!!!

Wolf Moon

We had a great Independence Day! Hope y’all did, too. 🇺🇸

TradeBait2

🇺🇸 Yes – great day!

Will go into it more Tuesday.

barkerjim

Thank you, Carl!!! AMEN!!! Trust in the Lord!!!

Makes me Grin. :wpds_cool:

And of course…

there must be a lot of dust in here cuz my eyes are watering.

THE JOY!!!

Gail Combs

 I just had to share.

What is funny is it is shorts from Crypto Rich site, a Muslim who does not willingly touch dogs.

When I had only had my rescue dog that I have now for about 3 months, I left home for a week for a pre-planned trip. She was with the DH, comfortable in her new home, and I was sure she would be fine. She had been abused by her former owners (man and wife both went to jail for aggravated animal cruelty), but even in the 3 months she had come a long way.

I have never had a dog react the way she did when I came home. It was pitiful. She was so overwhelmed she was almost unable to move properly, like some of the dogs in the video. She just skittered all over me, around and around. She even wet herself. I cried I felt so guilty.

I’ve never left her again. She is next to me in my RV as I type. She is my constant companion.

PAVACA1

Aubergine
Thank you for this.
My little guy is also a rescue dog. He’d been terribly neglected by his first family — I believe they thought he was a “four-legged play toy” since he came to them as a tiny puppy. But, when he started to grow up, they started to neglect him. He apparently ate from what he could find in the garbage can. He was found, shivering and very hungry, by the side of the road in rural Virginia, east of Richmond. Virginia Yorkie Rescue got him to a friend of mine who, at that time (January 2021) owned a special-needs dog kennel and rehab place. She had Solas for three months, got him well and whole, then brought him down to me in Durham.
My little guy never leaves my side. He watches me like a hawk. He’s anxious when I leave the house to do anything, even to take the trash to the curb. I can almost hear him sigh in relief when I’m back in the house.
If I ever take a road trip, Solas will go with me. Even if I need to rent a Class C RV to make the trip, so that there’s room for both of us.

Aubergine

Good for you! Rescues are the best. One of my exes used to say they understand they were saved, and they are grateful. That seems to be true.

patfrederick

as a general rule I do not like cats and would not have one in my home. I have made friends with my children’s cats, but as a rule I despise them.

pgroup2

The feeling is mutual.

patfrederick

are you saying cats intrinsically hate me?

pgroup2

Not necessarily but they do gossip. And you intrinsically hate them so why not mutual feelings. Cats are really cool IMO because you don’t have to walk them like you do with dogs. Just put ’em outside and they do latrine duty all by themselves.

patfrederick

my dislike comes honestly.
when i was 14 and babysitting (not for first time) for the neighbor, one evening her cat took an intense dislike to me for some unknown reason. The kids were in bed and i sat in a chair to do homework and the cat jumped up on the back of the sat and when i turned scratched my face-enough to draw blood.
the owner was shocked and apologized over and over but i never sat for them again.

pgroup2

Seriously, that cat had a demon [or several] and sensed your spirit as being one of good.

Since you were in its territory, it felt authorized to deal with you in that manner.

patfrederick

which would make sense if I hadn’t babysat for that family for over a year. I wasn’t new to the cat, the cat wasn’t new to me.
it was completely out of left field.

Tatonka Woman

Perhaps the demon was new to the cat…
and to that household.

patfrederick

may be…but once was enough for me.

pgroup2

Exactly.

Gail Combs

My cats are barn cats. I had ONE Blue point long hair Siamese [Balinese] who I taught to sit , beg and come here on command. I was stuck in base housing in Germany with no drivers lic. He would also allow me to give him a bath and went on camping/caving trips.

What can I say, I always had dogs and I was bored silly.

All of these “democratic socialists” are actually thieves.
Zohran Mandami and others of his stripe should be declared leaders of organized crime by President Trump and his Department of Justice. They should be arrested and prosecuted under RICO statutes for the attempted seizure of private property on a grand scale. They are unconstitutionally declaring the legitimacy of the seizing of American property by unlawful edict.
There is no American right to seize property through the election of thieves claiming a “right” to steal.
The U.S. Constitution does not permit anyone to take political office for the stated purpose of theft of money or the property of others.
These people are flat-out communists who do not believe in the American GUARANTEED fundamental right to own and control one’s own private property.
No bunch of riff-raff scoundrels may seize, by claimed illegitimate vote, the property or rights of others in the USA.
They should ALL be arrested and thrown in prison and their stated goals declared CRIMINAL. All so-called political “parties” espousing grand theft should be summarily outlawed.
There is no right to seize property through ANY election.

pgroup2

Fine by me. When do we start cuffing the bastards?

well, today us Sunday,..so maybe start tomorrow?

Okay but you bring the creme filled doughnuts.

A half dozen for me. 😮

but anything to rid ourselves of communists.

Chocolate covered cream filled is the best (not the pudding kind) 🙂

The area of NC where I am particularly looking to go is known for a couple of things — once the HQ of cigarette brands Winston, Salem, and Marlboro; and the HQ of Krispy Kreme.

It’s also the location of Wake Forest University, despite there being a city of Wake Forest several miles east (near Raleigh). That’s where the University was founded before Winston-Salem absconded with it. The address of the University, 1834 Wake Forest Road, is the year it was founded in Wake Forest — it moved to Winston-Salem in 1946.

Valerie Curren

Very interesting. Krispy Kreme around here Used To have the Hot Now sign lit up & you could walk in & get a free original donut. Since there was a shop about a half mile from our home we got Many free donuts over the years. It was fun to watch them making those original donuts while munching on a melt in your mouth warm fresh ones 🙂

patfrederick

too rich for me!
i liked the powdered cream filled…lol

Valerie Curren

Also good AND the the maple iced ones too!

I like it. Just like that bitch “Peekaboo” James who ran for office on “getting” Trump.

I can no longer watch twitter videos because i don’t have an account…but if the winner of this contest–Ben Franklin look alike–is the lady on the LEFT? WTH???

AFAIK that has nothing to do with add-ons. It’s just a different URL and it should work.

Ask google.com what’s going on. You’ll find out.

or i could ask the amish guy down the road a ways. he can make up a good answer just as well as google.

TBH, google search gives decent results.

I gave up using those workarounds and made a fake E-Mail account and registered a twitter account, which I will never use, with that email.

this shows a clear problem with our government. little peons who do not AGREE with the current administration sabotaging that administration and NOT getting fired. self important pissants slowing down and mucking up everything. representatives not functioning or incapacitated refusing to resign or leave office. the “it’s all about ME” mentality is disgusting.
FTA
Woodrow Wilson’s progressive movement firmly believed that if you put bureaucrats in charge, a nation would run like a well-oiled, utterly impartial machine. A revelation from Tulsi Gabbard about how our government operates, a couple of tweets from the UK, and a dive into Israel’s past all put the lie to this delusion.

Flopping Aces reprinted a speech that Tulsi Gabbard gave about the real deep state, which isn’t a cabal of high-level operatives but is, instead, a collection of bureaucrats protecting their fiefdoms without regard for our constitutional system. (And of course, it goes without saying—and it’s important to note that Gabbard doesn’t say it—that most of these bureaucrats are Democrats.)

According to Gabbard, an unseen threat in America is the managerial class:

These are the people who operate quietly below the surface. They are the career officials, the senior administrators, the unelected managers of national security or intelligence, who see elections and the American voters as a nuisance because they think that they’re more important than any election, than any president, and that they are more qualified to run our country than those who [sic] we elect to serve our country as leaders.

With that introduction, Gabbard tells of the employee (who should be named) who used a typical bureaucratic technique we’ve all seen: slow-walking whatever the bureaucrat doesn’t like. In this case, Gabbard needed a placemat—that is, a big piece of paper with information she needed to share with President Trump for a meeting that morning. One person in the agency she chaired, who’d come from another agency, was responsible for getting this placemat to her.

But the placemat never came. Why not?

[B]ecause this guy who was responsible for printing refused to print it because he disagreed with what was on the paper. And turns out he actually did print it, but then he locked it in his desk and refused to open his desk.

My chief of staff went down and said, the director needs to present this to the president. We need this. And he said, no, I refuse.

And so my chief brought down my head of a general counsel who said, the director needs this for the president. I refuse. And he would not do this until his boss back at his home agency said it was okay to do it.

That, says Gabbard, is just one example of how our government works or, more accurately, doesn’t work.

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2026/07/tulsi-gabbard-details-the-dangerous-power-d-c-bureaucrats-hold/

pgroup2

Should have given him/her some Ex-Lax brownies a half an hour before meeting time. Then when ex-lax calls, go in and break open the desk, retrieve the placemat, and go to see DJT. Simple, eh?

patfrederick

yeah, see i don’t get the mentality. Given Tulsi’s position in the government, i do not understand the frequent “asking” for something more than once.
to me that shows the arrogance of the unelected in gov’t. I would have detained the employee and broken the desk open in less than 15 minutes from the initial asking.
stonewalling is NOT an option.
who do these people think they are?

pgroup2

The employee wasn’t working for her – he/she/it was assigned to work in her office. So Tulsi technically wasn’t his/her/its superior and so couldn’t boss him/her/it around.

I would have told him/her/it to go back from where he/she/it came. Since the desk belongs to Tulsi’s department, break it open and take the item.

Wanna be bitchy about it? Make he/she/it watch. And toss any of his/her/its crap all over the place while laughing maniacally.

I assure you, the satisfaction will feel as good as sex does.

I don’t take shit like this well, either.

One time many years ago, I worked for a non-profit division of Goodwill. We did work-hardening therapy. My boss was was psychologist. I was a peon, lol.

The boss and the rest of the staff had to go to a conference, and I was working alone one day. There was a “rival” division in our building that really coveted our space.

The head of the division was this big muckety-muck who was actually the brother of the head of ALL the divisions of Goodwill for half the state we were in. Anyway, the muckety came in and told me he was “taking over” one of our offices because he needed storage. I told him NO he absolutely was NOT, that I was alone in the division which meant I was in charge, and he could take it up with my boss when he got back. I literally physically blocked the guy and locked the door of the office he was after.

Whoo-boy, he was pissed! When my boss got back, the muckety called him in. And then my boss called me in. I described what had happened. He told me the muckety said I needed some “humility.” I guffawed, and so did my boss. He knew me. Humility. Yeah, right.

The rival division never did get that office space.

Valerie Curren

Ka-BQQM!!!

Sounds like insubordination. Luckily the Supreme Court made it possible to fire such people without all the jumping thru hoops — I hope.

Yandex AI

Yes, a US government employee can be tried for insubordination. In federal employment law, insubordination has a strict legal meaning. It is not just “being difficult,” “having attitude,” “talking back,” or “not cooperating.” Legally, insubordination requires three elements:

This title SCREAMS DEEP STATE!
The Ultimate Guide to Insubordination for Federal Employees: Complete 2025 Survival Manual

Being accused of insubordination is one of the most dangerous allegations a federal employee can face. It is the gateway charge agencies use to justify discipline, suspensions, demotions, and removals. It is the charge supervisors use when frustrated with an employee, when trying to “prove” disrespect, when retaliating after protected activity, or when manufacturing a record.

It is also one of the most misunderstood and misapplied charges in federal employment law.

As a federal employment lawyer, here is the truth:

— Most insubordination charges cannot withstand legal scrutiny.

— Most agencies overstate what happened.

— Most employees have strong defenses.

And most MSPB judges look at these cases with a critical eye.

This guide is the definitive, exhaustive, game-changing resources for federal employees fighting insubordination allegations…

Google AI

MSPB judges, officially known as Administrative Judges (AJs), are attorneys employed by the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). They act as neutral arbiters to hear and issue initial decisions on appeals from federal employees challenging adverse employment actions, such as removals, suspensions, or demotions

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

Verse of the Day for Sunday, July 5, 2026

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

COMMENTARY FOR PROVERBS 22

1 We should be more careful to do that by which we may get and keep a good name, than to raise or add unto a great estate. #2|. Divine Providence has so ordered it, that some are rich, and others poor, but all are guilty before God; and at the throne of God’s grace the poor are as welcome as the rich. #3|. Faith foresees the evil coming upon sinners, and looks to Jesus Christ as the sure refuge from the storm. #4|. Where the fear of God is, there will be humility. And much is to be enjoyed by it; spiritual riches, and eternal life at last. #5|. The way of sin is vexatious and dangerous. But the way of duty is safe and easy. #6|. Train children, not in the way they would go, that of their corrupt hearts, but in the way they should go; in which, if you love them, you would have them go. As soon as possible every child should be led to the knowledge of the Saviour. #7|. This shows how important it is for every man to keep out of debt. As to the things of this life, there is a difference between the rich and the poor; but let the poor remember, it is the Lord that made the difference. #8|. The power which many abuse, will soon fail them. #9|. He that seeks to relieve the wants and miseries of others shall be blessed. #10|. Profane scoffers and revilers disturb the peace. #11|. God will be the Friend of a man in whose spirit there is no guile; this honour have all the saints. #12|. God turns the counsels and designs of treacherous men to their own confusion. #13|. The slothful man talks of a lion without, but considers not his real danger from the devil, that roaring lion within, and from his own slothfulness, which kills him. #14|. The vile sin of licentiousness commonly besots the mind beyond recovery. #15|. Sin is foolishness, it is in the heart, there is an inward inclination to sin: children bring it into the world with them; and it cleaves close to the soul. We all need to be corrected by our heavenly Father. #16|. We are but stewards, and must distribute what God intrusts to our care, according to his will. 17-21|. To these words, to this knowledge, the ear must be bowed down, and the heart applied by faith and love. To live a life of delight in God and dependence on him, is the foundation of all practical religion. The way to know the certainty of the word of truth, is to make conscience of our duty. #22,23|. He that robs and oppresses the poor, does so at his peril. And if men will not appear for them, God will. #24,25|. Our corrupt hearts have so much tinder in them, that it is dangerous to have to do with those that throw about the sparks of their passion. 26,27|. Every man ought to be just to himself, and his family; those are not so, who, by folly or other carelessness, waste what they have. #28|. We are taught not to trespass on another man’s right. And it is hard to find a truly industrious man. Such a man will rise. Seest thou a man diligent in the business of religion? He is likely to excel. Let us then be diligent in God’s work.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hmmm, seems those two acts came into existence during the time I was born. Splains a lot about what I believe.

We are one nation under God in whom we trust. Nothing should be allowed to turn us against that truth. We became the greatest nation on earth because of Him, not solely from our own efforts. If nothing else has been learned over the past several decades – THAT should be the takeaway – God’s providence as stated in the Declaration applies. As a result the only way to do things are His way, which is OUR AMERICAN way; not the ways of the rest of the world who choose to not live under God’s providence.

If you do not believe and cannot reconcile to these truths, you should find another place to live because your assimilation here is not possible. Leave and renounce your citizenship.

Thank you for this reminder, Carl.

The hospitals should be sued!

Wolf Moon

They probably will be – there is a lot of anger and citizen research in the comments!

patfrederick

that would be good news!

Wolf Moon

This is true but not true – a typical distortion by Right Angle News, which does this sort of thing on many posts.

Yes, this is “birth tourism” – absolutely. But it is CHARGING those costs to foreign customers, not offering them money from taxpayers.

patfrederick

I’d like to know how much a typical birth is paid for by insurance and how much hospitals charge for that birth.
I don’t know why but that seems really cheap for a hospital procedure. and if medicaid is involved in any way (under the table) that would be questionable as well.
seems wrong form the get go.

Wolf Moon

IMO those prices reveal the reality of medical costs. Incredibly, these hospitals and physicians can still make money at those rates from the patient. Howver, you are correct – those prices give no hint about what additional dollar amounts the medical fraudsters may be scamming the government (and us) for, because I would not doubt that Dems have created some sort of payment to foreigners who “need” to go to hospitals in America, and that foreigners in America have found it and are actively exploiting it.

It’s the same as looking at your medical insurance details in the resolved bills from providers. Those bills show how much “fluff” that (1) providers charge, then (2) insurance refuses to pay, and then (3) the provider then magically drops and makes disappear, so as to not charge you and “cause a scene”. They know that they can hit you for an additional 15, 25, or 35 dollars, but they don’t push it. Occasionally 50 if they think you won’t remember cited costs.

patfrederick

isn’t that what obamacare did? you cannot be refused at a hospital? all these illegals show up at hospitals and don’t have insurance and they can’t be turned away.

Wolf Moon

Obamacare was a huge contributor, if not the biggest, to making health insurance companies the place where costs magically appear and disappear!

Birthing wings, not hospital admission, is how most births are handled. It’s like a clinic but attached to the hospital in case of an emergency.

For comparison, my kid was born in Phoenix in the birthing wing at a total cost of $800 in 1988. In and out in less than 24 hours.

This is pretty brilliant.

There have been 4 major revolutions in the past 250 years: American, French, Russian, and Chinese. Only one led to individual rights and prosperity. The others led to mass death and tyranny. The US revolution was unique because it said two things: 1. Our rights come from God not from the govt. 2. Humans are power -hungry so we need to limit govt power. So the next time someone attacks the nation of one revolution that succeeded and recycles the the idea of those that miserably failed, you can ask them: are you ignorant, or malicious?

Yes – that is exactly why revolutions are desired by people who want MORE CENTRAL CONTROL – not less. They can make a quantum leap in control of the people. And the communists USE anarchists to help set up the revolutions, but then THEY desire to control the outcome toward their own power.

so they bribed and paid medicaid users to request their transportation services (when they did not use them) but they also made them request transportation to NYC–which increased the payments dramatically. ‘seize the investment properties, home and bank accounts. they owe us $35 MILLION!
FTA
“Medicaid’s transportation benefit exists so that vulnerable people can get the care they need. These defendants allegedly exploited that lifeline, paying kickbacks and billing for trips that never happened in order to enrich themselves at the expense of taxpayers,” stated Suffolk County District Attorney Tierney. “I thank the United States Attorney’s Office, HHS-OIG, IRS-CI, and the State Comptroller for their partnership in rooting out this alleged scheme.”
The defendants also systematically inflated their Medicaid reimbursements. Although numerous addiction treatment centers on Long Island were available to beneficiaries, the defendants directed beneficiaries to request transportation to addiction treatment centers in New York City and to provide false pickup or drop-off addresses so they could bill Medicaid for longer, more expensive trips. Through this scheme, the defendants submitted more than $18 million in claims for rides exceeding 75 miles and, overall, fraudulently billed Medicaid more than $35 million.
The defendants used the illicit proceeds of the scheme to, among other things, fund their lifestyles and purchase multiple investment properties and homes with a combined value of about $6 million.
If convicted of the charges, the defendants each face up to 20 years in prison, and restitution and forfeiture of at least $35 million, including several real properties and 15 bank accounts.

As Americans celebrated the nation’s 250th birthday, the United States shattered the previous Guinness World Record for the largest fireworks display ever recorded, capping off President Donald Trump’s ambitious America 250 celebration with a breathtaking patriotic spectacle over the National Mall.

The record-breaking show featured approximately 850,000 fireworks launched during a 40-minute display from multiple firing locations, including barges positioned along the Potomac River, surpassing the previous record of 810,904 fireworks set in the Philippines on New Year’s Day 2016. Organizers had spent months planning the unprecedented pyrotechnics display.

Excellent read. A bit longer than the typical post. 100% worth reading.

Though of less importance and NOT to take away from the article, Bars, BBQs, informal get togethers remain, pivotal. IMO.

Events this article recounts hugely significant in America surviving it’s fledgling establishment..

The American Revolution Was Fought And Won In Neighborhood Bars
American taverns became rooms where our founders could leave without making every disagreement permanent.

Colonel Benjamin Tallmadge noticed it from across the room. For eight years, he had watched Washington and learned to read the small signals: the set of the jaw, the economy of movement, the way the general’s silence could crowd out other men’s noise. He had never seen the hand shake — not at Long Island, where the army nearly dissolved into the East River; not at Valley Forge, where it nearly froze to death; not at Yorktown, where it won.

It was Dec. 4, 1783. The fighting had ended months earlier. Washington had asked his officers to meet him at Fraunces Tavern, on the corner of Pearl and Broad in lower Manhattan. They came up the stairs to the Long Room on the second floor. He raised a glass of Madeira, and when he opened his mouth to speak, what came out was one sentence: “With a heart full of love and gratitude, I now take leave of you.”

That was all he managed. He stood there, unable to continue while the officers who had followed him across eight years and a continent wept without embarrassment, without apology, without any of the management that men in uniform usually apply to grief in public. Then he walked to Henry Knox, put his arms around him, and said nothing. He moved to the next man, and the next, until he had embraced every officer in the room, and then he walked out.

He could have done this anywhere. He chose a tavern. That choice tells us something about the country those men had just made.

The men who made the American Revolution made it in rooms like this one. Start with a brick building on Union Street in Boston, the one with a copper dragon over the door.

The Green Dragon Tavern was owned by a Masonic lodge — a tavern on the ground floor, a lodge hall above — and Samuel Adams used it the way a general uses his headquarters. The Sons of Liberty met there. The North End Caucus met there. Paul Revere later recalled that through the winter of 1774 and into 1775, he belonged to a committee of about 30 men, “chiefly mechanics,” who gathered at the Green Dragon to watch British troop movements and report back, swearing themselves to secrecy over a Bible before every meeting.

Adams had learned the room’s machinery from his father, who had run the original Caucus Club out of a similar room a generation earlier. What he understood, and what his British counterparts perpetually underestimated, was that a tavern was not merely a place where men drank. It was where men without formal power could sit long enough to become dangerous together: arguing, drinking, counting votes, testing courage, and leaving with something to do before anyone official knew enough to stop them. The Green Dragon held carpenters and lawyers at the same tables, men who disagreed about religion, about commerce, about how far resistance ought to go… and it held them long enough for disagreement to become coordination.

In the fall of 1773, the British East India Company shipped half a million pounds of tea to the colonies, undercutting local merchants and forcing the colonists to pay a tax Parliament had imposed without their consent. The consignees — the merchants designated to receive and sell the tea — were a handful of well-connected men who had decided they could do business with the arrangement. The rest of Boston had decided otherwise.

A surviving lodge record from that winter notes drily that the “Consignees of Tea took up the Brethren’s time” at one meeting, and that the gathering broke up late. On the night of December 16, 1773, somewhere between 30 and 130 men (the historical record is deliberate in its vagueness) boarded three ships in Boston Harbor and dumped 342 chests of tea into the water. The men who planned it were the same men who poured drinks and paid their tabs at the Green Dragon. They did not leave a detailed written record of the planning. They knew better. They left a lodge note that said the consignees took up the time, and they let history figure out the rest.

That is the thing about the rooms that were doing the real work. Their power was that they left so little for the official record to seize. The Crown could read pamphlets. It could read newspapers. It could not read what happened at a table of men who had sworn an oath and knew how to keep it.

By April of 1775, the British had run out of patience. General Thomas Gage ordered his troops to march to Concord and seize the colonial military stores. On the night of April 18, Revere rode out from Boston. The man riding was the same man who had sat in the Green Dragon through those long winters of organizing, watching, and waiting.

The next morning, British regulars marched onto Lexington Green and found a line of about 77 colonial militiamen waiting for them. Parker’s men had spent the small hours before dawn gathered in Buckman Tavern, a few steps from the green, warming themselves by the hearth, muskets stacked against the wall. When the alarm finally came, they walked out the door and formed their line on the grass. A shot was fired — famously, no one has ever established with certainty who fired it. And when the smoke cleared, eight militiamen were dead. The war that had been organized in a bar began, in earnest, at the door of another one.

The war lasted eight years, and when it was finally, officially over, the men who had survived it had to figure out how to build what they had fought for. That turned out to be a different kind of problem.

In the summer of 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention gathered in Philadelphia with the explicit assignment of fixing the Articles of Confederation and the implicit understanding that the whole frame of government might need to come down and be rebuilt. They sealed the windows of the Pennsylvania State House against the July heat and the public ear, posted guards at the doors, and argued for four months in secret.
The arguing was real, and it was brutal. The small states and the large ones nearly broke the convention over how seats in Congress would be apportioned. The slaveholding states and the northern ones struck bargains that both sides knew were postponements rather than resolutions. Men who had fought a revolution together voted against each other week after week and walked out into the Philadelphia summer carrying grievances that had no outlet inside the sealed room.

The outlet was City Tavern, four blocks east on Second and Walnut, the most genteel public house in America. The delegates ate there most evenings, off the record, in the way that people who have been formally disagreeing all day sometimes need to be informally together at night. A bill from one September dinner survives. 55 gentlemen. 54 bottles of Madeira. 60 of claret. Seven large bowls of rum punch. And at the bottom, in the tavern keeper’s even hand, one final line: Breakage. The glasses had broken. So, nearly, had the convention.

Three days after that dinner, the Constitution was signed. Washington wrote in his diary that the members “adjourned to the City Tavern, dined together and took a cordial leave of each other.” Twelve words for the last night of the most consequential summer in American political history. The document was finished. The harder task was finding out whether the men who had fought over it could remain in one another’s company. That, too, had been worked out, over months of evenings, in a room four blocks from the official one.

Which brings us back to Fraunces Tavern, and the shaking hand.

Tallmadge recorded what happened. Washington filled his glass, said one sentence, and then stopped. He was, Tallmadge wrote, “suffused in tears and incapable of utterance.” He walked to Knox and held him in silence. Then every officer in the room came forward one by one, and Tallmadge wrote: “Such a scene of sorrow and weeping I had never before witnessed and fondly hope I may never be called to witness again.”

Consider what those men had been through to get to this room. Revere riding out in the dark from the Green Dragon, the whole conspiracy of a revolution carried in his head.

Parker’s men walking out of Buckman Tavern into the cold and the gunfire. Eight years of war. And then Philadelphia, the sealed windows and the brutal arguments and the broken glass at the bottom of the bill, and somehow, against the weight of every precedent in human history, a constitution. They had built something that had never existed: a republic of free men, equal before God and law, governed by their own consent, answerable to no crown. For all of recorded history, that had been an idea. These men, in these rooms, had made it a country.

They wept because they knew what it had cost. They wept because they knew what it was.

What Tallmadge was witnessing was not a ceremony. It was the thing a ceremony is supposed to honor but almost never actually depicts: the human cost of what got done, acknowledged among the people who paid it, in a room where that acknowledgment was allowed.

None of this diminishes the documents. The Declaration and the Constitution deserve their place under glass. The chambers matter. The signatures matter. Go see them. But do not mistake the official room for the whole republic.

The documents could not contain what the monuments cannot show. Paul Revere and 30 mechanics swearing oaths over a Bible in a lodge hall above a tavern bar. The Brethren’s time taken up by the consignees of tea, and the note in the ledger that names no names. Parker’s men at the hearth in Buckman Tavern in the hour before the war. The broken glass at City Tavern was tallied honestly at the bottom of the bill. Washington’s hand shaking over a glass of Madeira while 30 officers wept without shame in the room around him.

That is where the republic was practiced, not just proclaimed. The founders did not agree themselves into a country. They argued themselves into one, and then kept returning to rooms where they could leave without making every disagreement permanent.

Nineteen days later, Washington resigned his commission before Congress in Annapolis. But before he became the marble figure surrendering power, he stood in a tavern with a shaking hand and became, briefly and completely, a man among men.

This July, America turns 250. There will be fireworks and speeches and ceremonies, and all of that is right and good. But the founders would recognize the fireworks more readily than they would recognize us: a country that has largely stopped sitting in rooms with people it disagrees with, that has traded the tavern for the timeline and the cordial leave for the mute button.

Most of the rooms are gone now. The Green Dragon disappeared in 1854, and City Tavern followed it into dust the same year. Fraunces survives, restored and slightly domesticated, with a museum upstairs and decent food downstairs for tourists who may or may not know what happened above them.

But the specific building was never really the point. You need a table, a few people you don’t see entirely eye to eye with, and the willingness to order something and have it out — over a bowl of punch if you want to be historical about it, over a Zombie Dust if that’s what’s on tap. At the end of the night you settle the bill and take a cordial leave, the way they did, because the argument is not finished and you are going to need to come back.

Germany is losing manufactures jobs, the country is imploding. Egg price fixing has come to an end in America. Trump is opening land to drill, the oceans to fish, industry and energy is coming back to the US. The message is clear the US currency is changing and the revaluation of gold is going to happen because the economy is being restructured. Presidents before Trump has warned that [DS] was going to use communism to take over the country. Reagan told us when he was running. Now the infiltrators are moving forward with their plan. Trump created the counterinsurgency to take care of this insurgency and he is now forcing the [DS] players that were installed to tell the people of America their plan. Trump is using patriotism to counter this. Kash is rounding up the foot soldiers of the [DS]. At dawn we win.

Peace and Tranquility Prayers

Prayer for a Calm Heart

Lord of Peace, as evening falls, I seek the calmness only You can provide. Quell the storms of my mind and replace anxiety with Your peace. As the world quiets down, let my heart do the same. May Your presence envelop me so that I may know tranquility tonight and always. Amen.

Serenity at Day’s End

Heavenly Father, with the closing of this day, I ask for serenity. As the night sky displays its vast beauty, let my soul mirror its peacefulness. Help me to let go of the worries of the day and trust in Your loving care. May Your peace reign in my heart and home tonight. Amen.

Prayer for Restful Stillness

Creator of All, as I listen to the night’s gentle whisper, I ask for peace to settle over me. Let Your tranquility wash away the noise of the day. In this quiet hour, I lean on Your promise of peace, a heavenly balm to my weary soul. Keep me in perfect peace as I keep my mind stayed on You. Amen.

Prayer for Gentle Rest

Omnipotent and Gentle Lord, at the end of this day, I seek the gentle rest that You so lovingly provide. May my mind be at ease, my body relax, and my spirit find harmony. Help me to release every concern into Your capable hands and sleep in the assurance of Your protection and peace. Amen.

It is going to get interesting. Trump is in no mind to let anything slide. Thankfully.

Still thinking it’ll be after mid terms.

UPDATE: President Trump just posted Barack Hussein Obama as the president of ISLAMISM and BLM

He was a traitor, 47 is STILL fixing his mistakes!

JUST IN: House Republicans are CALLING OUT Leader John Thune and Senate Republicans for the SAVE America Act stalling

LISTEN TO TRUMP, nuke the filibuster and stop with the delays!

REP. JAMES COMER: “Leader Thune needs to tell us what they CAN pass in the Senate. I mean, surely we as Republicans can agree that you should have to show a valid ID to vote.”

“We’ve passed the SAVE America Act in the House, and it’s collecting DUST in the Senate. The clock is ticking. It needs to pass in the next few weeks in order for that to take effect for this election this November!”

Cheryl, this is just flat out nonsense 🤣

CHERYL: “IN THE MIDDLE EAST, THE FRAGILE CEASEFIRE DEAL BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND IRAN CONTINUES TO HOLD AS THE TWO SIDES ATTEMPT TO HAMMER OUT A PERMANENT AGREEMENT THAT WOULD SEE TEHRAN GIVE UP ITS NUCLEAR AMBITIONS IN EXCHANGE FOR LONG-TERM SANCTION RELIEF.

The islamo-fascists are not interested in any kind of agreement to give up their nuclear program — in fact, that’s the last thing in the world they want to do.

It’s not like both sides want Iran to give up their nuclear program, and it’s just too hard to figure out how to make it happen.

That’s what the whole conflict is over — we want them to give up their nuclear ‘ambitions’, and they don’t want to… 😂

Exactly!!!

The guy who presented this is a recent former orange county fairground chair, who owned a pot shop. His company has never built anything and he is scamming. Nevertheless this is a slimy proposoal to steal big pieces of land in every vounty. Btw, county fairground boards are appointed by …the GOVERNOR.

American historic fairgrounds mix utility with nostalgia but a statewide tech-hub may be a step too far.
