This is a good thread, and it highlights some of the things I’ve been saying since election night. Things like: There will be no resistance 2.0. The sane dems will come to support major parts of Trumpism. This period reminds me of the fall of the Berlin wall. The lying legacy media destroyed itself during the election. The lying legacy media continues to dig their hole deeper by how they are reacting to the loss and Trump’s nominees. The gop establishment are still a bit delusional and think they can stand in the breech. This isn’t 2016 And while the thread doesn’t draw any conclusions, it’s clear that most have no idea what’s about to hit them come Jan 20th. We will see a blitzkrieg like we have never seen before. Energy prices will crash. Regulations will be gutted, illegal immigration will come to a stop, deportations will be swift, and pink slips will be going out to 10,000s of gov workers. Wars will end, hostages will be released, tarrifs will be placed, and on and on. It’s going to be glorious, and the majority of the country will celebrate. While many on the left’s major players will try to hide or flee. The lying legacy media won’t have any idea on what to cover or even what narrative to push. And as each domino falls, it builds momentum for the next and the next and the next to fall. By July 4th, 2026, much of America will be in a totally different place and mindset.

NEWS: Tensions continue to rise over mass deportation responsibilities as we get closer to President Trump taking office. This time between the Sheriff and San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Sheriff Kelly Martinez officially announces she will not side with any “super sanctuary” policy in place in San Diego. She pointed out that she is an independently elected official, which she is, and the Board does not set policy for her office, which they don’t. Essentially, the Sheriff just called out the Democrats on the Board for virtue signaling, saying she had made her position clear and they knew she would not adhere to this policy before they voted 3-1 to approve it. Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Warm a mug or Irish coffee glass by filling it with hot water. Allow this to sit for a few minutes, then discard the water.
  3. Pour the Irish whiskey, Irish cream, and butterscotch schnapps into the warm mug.

Rosenstein got them ALL to trust him by giving Comey exactly what he was demanding after he was fired by Trump: a Special Counsel to investigate the ‘SpyGate claims’. From listening to reports around the internet, there seem to be about 12 senators in the DC republican party who think they can stop Trump or at least bloody his mandate. The strategy appears to be to have 2 or 3 hard nos on his nominees with a rotating fourth or fifth to take the slings and arrows on that particular nominee. Personally, I don’t think it will work, but it appears those in DC are centering on this strategy….good luck…notice Trump hasn’t entered into the conversation yet. I’m extremely thankful Biden and his handlers issued this pardon. All it’s done is bring more attention to all of their offshore criminality, and confirm that Joe and the Dems are trying to cover their tracks. It also discredited the Dems/MSM, and opened the door for Trump to pardon anyone he likes without backlash. It’s proven the Dems are corrupt and will lie and cheat whenever it suits them. And yet, again, I am resurrecting the old Thanksgiving thread as cooking takes center stage in the Depat household.

Being full of Chinese take-out and having started Thanksgiving cooking without the matriarch, I’m digging up an old opener. Since Twitter/X is being tempermental, not many current items.

Anti-Thanksgiving? UnAmerican at best, treason more likely.

So, what REALLY happened to bring about Thanksgiving here in the former colonies of England, France and Spain?????

The Great Thanksgiving Hoax

This official story is nothing like what really happened. It is a fairy tale, a whitewashed and sanitized collection of half-truths which divert attention away from Thanksgiving’s real meaning.

The official story has the Pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America, and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620–21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them.

The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or less happily ever after, each year repeating the first Thanksgiving. Other early colonies also have hard times at first, but they soon prosper and adopt the annual tradition of giving thanks for this prosperous new land called America.

The problem with this official story is that the harvest of 1621 was not bountiful, nor were the colonists hard-working or tenacious. 1621 was a famine year and many of the colonists were lazy thieves.

In his History of Plymouth Plantation, the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years because they refused to work in the field. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with “corruption,” and with “confusion and discontent.” The crops were small because “much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable.”

In the harvest feasts of 1621 and 1622, “all had their hungry bellies filled,” but only briefly. The prevailing condition during those years was not the abundance the official story claims, it was famine and death. The first “Thanksgiving” was not so much a celebration as it was the last meal of condemned men.

But in subsequent years something changes. The harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly, “instead of famine now God gave them plenty,” Bradford wrote, “and the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God.” Thereafter, he wrote, “any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day.” In fact, in 1624, so much food was produced that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn.

What happened? After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, “they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop.” They began to question their form of economic organization.

This had required that “all profits & benefits that are got by trade, traffic, trucking, working, fishing, or any other means” were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, “all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock.” A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take only what he needed.

This “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that “young men that were most able and fit for labor and service” complained about being forced to “spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children.” Also, “the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak.” So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of the famines.

Socialism only works in religious order settings, and then, it doesn’t really work there, either.

The Christian Ethics Behind the Pilgrims’ Rejection of Communism

One misconception that is still with us is that the Pilgrims adopted socialism out of religious conviction, as if Christian ethics requires a Platonic communist utopia. Galles notes that this is a misconception, but it is beyond the scope of his essay to provide the full historical back drop to that initial fateful economic design.

In fact, as Bradford makes clear, the Pilgrims did not desire to establish Christian communism. The Pilgrims’ original communal property arrangements were foisted upon them by their colonial sponsors. The sponsors did this after they learned that they would not be granted a monopoly of fishing rights in Cape Cod. The sponsors’ original agreement with the Pilgrims was such that the Pilgrims were to work for four days for the sponsoring company and then would have two days to work for themselves. The sponsors later changed their deal and told the Pilgrims that they would have to work all six days of the work week for the sponsors. At the end of seven years, the Pilgrims would be granted title to the property they worked. The Pilgrims were not happy with the change, several of them recognizing that the new arrangement would make them virtual slaves of the sponsors, but they went along with the deal because many had already made large investments toward the move and they were convinced that emigrating to the New World is what God wanted them to do.

I have stopped creating AI images. First of all, it isn’t art. Secondly, a few days ago I went to create an image of a girl by a waterfall and was terrified when a girl by a waterfall had a black cloaked demonic figure behind her as if it was going to choke her. I also note that most of the images created by others tend to be dark, bizarre, or sexualized. Not all, but the majority. Brandy Old Fashioned

Ingredients

  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 orange slices
  • 2 brandied or maraschino cherries
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2 ounces brandy
  • 7UP, Sprite or club soda, chilled, to top
  • Garnish: brandied or maraschino cherry
  • Garnish: orange slice

Steps

  1. Add the bitters, orange slices, cherries and sugar cube to an Old Fashioned glass and muddle to combine.
  2. Add ice to fill the glass, then add the brandy.
  3. Top with the 7UP, Sprite or club soda, and stir to chill.
  4. Garnish with a skewered cherry and an orange slice.
