20200322: COVID Testing. When Does It End?

Too early for jokes? Of course, we are sensitive to the current global pandemic, and pray for recovery of those who are stricken, as well as the healthcare professionals working on their behalf. We’re talking ’bout the hysteria, here.

Yet, let’s talk about the unreasonable demand for “testing” of the entire population, immediately, and the overwhelming strain such a demand placed on our system. What was mass testing supposed to accomplish? Did we really need it or was it an unrealistic demand artificially created by the media to instill panic, create a run on toilet paper and foodstuffs, and designed to move forward the political goalposts by implying: “No immediate tests for 350 million people = Orange Man Bad.

It’s been my issue with testing all along. If there are only a few cases in a region, testing would reveal chains of possible transmission and be beneficial…. like we did with Ebola. Yet, if thousands of cases exist within a region, no country has the bureaucracy to devote to tracking individual spider-webs of transmissions, and testing becomes a waste of resources. Can we imagine the government trying to test and trace H1N1 infections when 50-60% of our population exhibits antibodies a decade later?

And, as Alison points out, testing begets proximity to those who are potentially infected and wastes protective gear, which are already in short supply for our healthcare workers.

https://twitter.com/Alison4Trump/status/1241608641871929344

Yet, still…… the media is focused on the NUMBER of tests, if the Trump Admin has conducted more/less than other countries. “Is the Trump Admin delivering what was promised to the people” was a source of contention in the presser yesterday, because the Trump Admin promised 1.4 million ….. only to learn more than 10 million tests have been delivered. It’s a media narrative, which fits into a predetermined journalists’ “recipe du jour” for a political story about how the Trump Admin is “bad”. Yet a story about the creation of a new tests, more labs, shortening the testing time to 45 minutes, gets hardly any press at all.

The media slept through the story of Wuhan during December/January because they were fixated on impeachment. Yet, by late February, the media was fairly successful with the idea of mass population testing, creating concern in the urban centers of the northeast/west coast, who are less self-reliant, more demanding of government solutions to individual problems, and those who exhibit hyper-sensitivity….. to…… anything.

But it made no sense given current situation. Testing begets more testing and would never be finished in a pandemic. There would be an infinite number of tests. Follow the logic of a typical urban dweller Dem:

  • Tested negative Monday, but I want to be tested again tomorrow after going to the grocery store…. cuz….. so many people were there.
  • Tested negative on Tuesday, but I want to be tested again tomorrow….. cuz Andre the mailman got a little too close to me.
  • Test negative on Wednesday, but I want to be tested again tomorrow, cuz my throat “feels funny”…… and I know elective surgeries are being cancelled….. but I am selfish…… and what if there is something else wrong with my throat?
  • Tested negative on Thursday, I want to be tested again tomorrow, because I received a box from Amazon…… and CNN/FOX told me the virus lives on cardboard for 24hours…… and I saw a story on social media where an Amazon worker tested positive…….. so, I might die from the transmission.
  • Tested negative on Friday, but I want to be tested again cuz……… I have a dog…… and who knows where the dog has been……. and MSNBC told me the virus could be transferred in a dog’s fur.
  • Tested negative on Saturday, but I want to be tested again on Sunday, because I can’t go to my veterinarian to pick up the organic-gluten-free-hypo-allergenic dog food for my gender-neutral dog….. so, I had to order it from Amazon…… and now I have another dreaded cardboard box to deal with……. which might kill me.
  • Tested negative on Sunday, but I want to be tested again on Monday morning because I heard the government might shut down my state…… so, I have no way to escape my state….. so, I went to the gas station and filled up the tank……. and there were so many people there……. and their breath might contain the virus…… and I could die……..
  • On Monday, I got a phone call from an old college girlfriend I haven’t seen in years, who knows someone, who read on social media, that their mom’s friend, in another state, MIGHT have the virus and is being tested. Surely, on Monday I would need to be tested again……. cuz……… I know someone who might have transmitted the virus…… That’s pretty close to me, right?
  • Tested negative on Tuesday, but I want to be tested again, cuz my friends “who are experts” and the Washington Post tells me my President is lying, and I’m suspicious of all doctors, nurses, and local officials. I need to be reassured.
  • Tested negative on Wednesday but call my doctor anyway because I think I have kidney failure. I attempt to convince my doctor all my lower back pain could not possible be muscle strain from rearranging the pantry to accommodate all the toilet paper I purchased. Doc tests me for COVID anyway…….. cuz the Feds/US Taxpayers are paying for the tests, and there are 10 million of them available.
  • Tested negative on Thursday, but I want to be tested again, cuz I miss the folks at the testing station……. it’s my only social interaction…….. and it might be cool to post the selfies on social media…….. yeah, I’ll get a lot of likes for that one. BUT, there were so many people there…..
  • So, I need to be tested again.
  • And again.
  • And again.
  • Cuz, I am important and incapable of cooperation during a national emergency.

Can’t you see my problem? Feel sorry for me at the victim I have become…. Woe is me.

I can’t go to the gym, or work, or see my friends,………. so I’m bored, and depend on outside stimulation because I am unable to sit quietly and entertain myself………. and I have all this food which I hoarded…………. so, all I want to do is eat pie……. so, I’m going to get fat…… and I can’t afford a Pelaton……. cuz I no longer have a job.

Therefore, all my problems are Trump’s fault.

Whew, I feel better now. Yeah, like I’ve always said, all my problems come back to Trump. I don’t know anything about propaganda. CNN is the most trusted news source in the world.

Daughn, thanks for giving me my laugh for the day. “It’s all about me-me-me-me-me-me-me.” Right? Maybe a few people will grow up during this mess.

TradeBait

lol. The world according to me. Everything revolves around me and my needs. I have several family members who qualify for this one – sadly.

TradeBait

This one has me smiling ear to ear, daughn. Don’t know if that was the desired intent, but it happened anyway. Thanks!

But what about ME? 😉 MCM pursuing testing numbers is on par with racists China Virus is racist. MCM is to stooopid to formulate a good question regarding ChiCom-19. So, they revert to their play book. Gotcha questions.
Appreciated the answer yesterday when the USPHS guy told the presstitute it was the wrong question and hoped he would never ask it again. And then explained why the question was stooopid.
I get the test to determine if someone, with symptoms has ChiCom-19. Perhaps a plus is the high number, percentage that are negative. In NV, roughly 95% of tests are negative.
The whole “contact tracing” thing, even when we are talking tens of cases is IMO, waste of money…as in Mission Impossible. A handful of cases, not buying into that fallacy either. Too much incidental casual exposure as folks go about there lives. We are incredibly mobile throughout our days.
.
.
Looking forward to the presser today. And, hopefully some of the primary cast will get the day off, at least from the presser. Pressers are incredibly reassuring for Americans. Plus, it is nice to see President Trump slap the presstitutes around a bit.

Thats one of the best posts in re to this. I think people are excited with the hysteria. I stay far away from people dressed like the unabomber. Hoodie up, sunglasses, mask, gloves. Havent seen full PPE but people are really ignorant. And I bet they are reusing their masks and gloves!

pgroup

Heck, they re-use their brains which are as contaminated as can be. Talk about risky behavior.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

“Re-use” implies that they ever used them in the first place, doesn’t it?

“Remember the Trayvon Martin incident, when George Zimmerman, the neighborhood self-appointed patrol guy asked the young man in a hoodie to stop and identify himself?”
________________
I was just reading about this recently, and if I remember correctly, Trayvon was observed casing peoples’ homes, looking in their windows. That was the reason Mr. Zimmerman called the police from his car.
According to Mas Ayoob (veteran police officer, firearms instructor, deadly force expert, who was originally contacted to testify on behalf of Mr. Zimmerman), in his book ‘Deadly Force‘, in which he mentions the extensive coverage by Conservative Treehouse, Mr. Ayoob says that Zimmerman was elected captain of the neighborhood watch.
And unlike the photo of a smiling little kid presented by the media (and the corrupt prosecutors) to the public, a security camera shot taken just minutes before the confrontation shows ‘little’ Trayvon is a full grown man towering over the 5′-10″ tall clerk. Looks like the top of the clerk’s head comes about to the bottom of Trayvon’s nose, making Trayvon at least 6′-2″ tall. Or he was wearing stilettos high heels.
The 911 operator asked for a description, and when Zimmerman looked, he couldn’t see him anymore. He got out of his car and moved toward the last known location, when he was jumped and pummeled by the thug, Trayvon Martin.
I have the book, but it is also available online in PDF format, which makes it easy to quote. The chapter on the Trayvon shooting has lots of interesting information that was never mentioned by the fake news and/or excluded from the trial.
Here is the beginning:
…………………….
“On a dark, rainy, unseasonably cold February night in 2012 in Sanford, Florida, George Zimmerman was driving to the supermarket when he saw an unfamiliar figure skulking around people’s windows in a housing development not far from his own home. As elected captain of the neighborhood watch, Zimmerman called police dispatch to report it.
The dispatcher asked for the exact location, and Zimmerman obligingly got out of his car to look for a street sign. The man he’d seen, who by now had disappeared from his view, suddenly emerged from the darkness to confront him, and without warning delivered a powerful punch to his face.
Zimmerman staggered backward and fell, with the assailant on top of him, raining blows in a mixed martial arts “ground and pound” fashion. He grabbed Zimmerman’s head and banged it on the sidewalk – and then spotted the licensed, concealed 9mm pistol holstered inside Zimmerman’s
waistband and reached for it, saying, “You’re going to die tonight.”
Zimmerman stated that he was able to slap the other man’s hand away, draw, and fi re one shot himself.
The single Sellier & Bellot 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullet had found the heart of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, killing him. Seasoned police investigators, despite their initial professional skepticism, quickly determined that all the physical evidence exactly fit Zimmerman’s account of the incident. He was not arrested, and the prosecutorial authority, the State’s Attorney’s Offi ce, did not even see a need to bring this clear-cut self-defense shooting in front of a grand jury.
However, the understandably grieving parents of the slain teen hired a lawyer, who in turn reached out
to a public relations fi rm with powerful connections in the mass media. Soon, the “murder of little Trayvon” had become a national, even worldwide cause celebre, with such celebrities as CNN’s Nancy Grace leading the lynch mob that howled for the head of George Zimmerman.” (page 138, “Deadly Force”, Massad Ayoob)
……………………

scott467

edit / correction: I wrote the first part earlier, and when I came back to finish the post, I looked up the passage in the book.
Then I forgot to edit the first part!
Apparently Zimmerman called police dispatch, not 911.
Apparently the dispatch operator did not ask immediately for a description of the suspect, but for Zimmerman’s exact location, which is why Zimmerman got out of the car, to look for a street sign.

scott467

“My son was a teenager then. He said, “Mom, if it was 10:00pm, light rain, and I cut through Miss Diane’s yard, across the street as a short-cut to get home, someone might stop me. It’s the hoodie” ”
___________
My Grandma (and probably yours too) would have said “Why is a teenager out of the house at 10 o’clock at night?” 😁
A ‘hoodie’ has become sort of like a bank robber’s ski mask conveniently attached to the back of a sweatshirt. It takes about one second to pull it up over your head, and you’re able to commit a crime without anyone being able to identify your hair color or, for the most part, your face.
Criminals are very aware of this, so it has become part of the criminal’s ‘uniform’, his daily ‘work clothes’.
This naturally (and correctly) makes law abiding citizens suspicious of anyone wearing a hoodie.
Is that fair to regular law abiding Americans who just happen to love wearing hooded sweatshirts?
Nope, but that’s how it goes.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Here’s the kicker – the MEDIA was manipulated by CHYYYNNAA to push “over-testing” because CHYYYNNAA understood the psychology of mass testing better than the journalists – only SOME of which cynically understood that they were sowing the seeds of waste and confusion.
I believe that CHYYYNNAA wanted to be the one shipping us tests because they could then control perceptions. Now they are manipulating left-bots to push a point that “orange man bad” because we would not accept tests from outside the country.

Basically the NYC governor wins either way.
If it works, he’s a hero for ordering the treatment.
If it doesn’t work, he gets to blame Trump for saying it would.
So if Peter Alexander was genuinely concerned that it was a false hope, this would be no reason for him to change his mind.

Cuomo was publicly pushing for this…he has downside risk if it doesn’t work. However he has doctors in NYC hospitals already using it so I suspect he feels confident.

Most excellent, Daughn !!! For laughs and a dose of reality. If only one of us, the ordinary citizens, could read this at the daily presser.

foxglovemeadows

This is great, Daughn!! I am suddenly craving peach pie!!! Great point about media being so busy concentrating on “their” impeachment story, they missed, on purpose, the real news story.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Whatever approach to the virus that the FAKE NEWS is pushing is what CHYYYNNAA wants pushed. At a MINIMUM it will be “blamed” later by the hypocritical press. More likely, it will have some angle that helps China.
There is a strong meme among libtards to blame orange man bad on not accepting testing from other countries. I smell HUGE Chyyynnaa-push behind it.
This is where the “test everybody” meme comes from, IMO – to force us to use Chinese testing.
In WAR, being dependent on the enemy for your night vision is a BAD IDEA. The wicked ChiComs wanted us to have that dependency, for a complex mix of reasons, including economic, MILITARY, and information.
We MUST be able to detect Chinese Biowarfare in the future with NO dependence on CHYYYNNAA.
It’s THAT simple.

I don’t know who made that unreasonable demand, I’m just positive that whoever did it, he or she was in no position of Authority to make any such ‘demand’, and can therefore be ignored.
.
“What was mass testing supposed to accomplish?”
______________
Nothing, it’s just idiocy or subversion, like practically everything else the Left does.
When I was a kid, sometimes we used to do stuff, just to piss people off, because it was funny — either to stick around to see their reaction, or just to laugh about what their reaction would be when they discovered it later. And I’m pretty sure we weren’t the only kids who did stuff like that.
But as we get older, most people grow out of that, and then we (mostly, eventually) forget that we ever did it.
Leftists grow older too, they never ‘grow out of it’. They’re mentally arrested at the age of 12 to 14 years old (which is also why they’re so susceptible to group think and political-correctness), and they live to do things just to piss people off.
Mass testing wouldn’t do anything besides waste time, money and resources — all enemy subversive objectives.
A) it makes zero sense to test ‘everyone’ until or unless they show symptoms. The President should be routinely tested every day if there is a legitimate concern and this whole thing isn’t a giant misdirection ploy. But me? Not so much. The nation is not relying on me to manage the country tomorrow.
B) not only does it make zero sense to test ‘everyone’, but it wouldn’t even do any good. 99% of the population does NOT have China virus. But ANY of them could catch it the next day AFTER they were tested, and not know they have been exposed to and been infected by China virus for up to four days, when they should start showing symptoms.
The only way to account for THAT problem is to test everyone, EVERY DAY.
And that’s just as stupid as testing ‘everyone’ once — only more wasteful (and impossible).
Stupid ideas presented by enemy guerilla combatants don’t require calm and reasoned responses, that’s exactly what they (or the person who’s pranking you) want you to do. They want you to take their childish absurdity as if it was serious, when they know full well that it’s not. You taking it seriously is what makes it hilarious (from their perspective).
Stupid ideas from enemy combatants should be mocked and ridiculed — and if the person who proposed the stupid idea was part of Fake News or otherwise a known enemy combatant, they should get an extra dose of personal humiliation thrown in at no extra charge. 😁

The next year, deer or armadillos or coyotes ate them to the ground.
Now I have my green onions and chives in a big pot away from that area on a paved side of my garage. So far no insects, rodents or mammals are eating them!

If you’ve had them for years, they probably taste like straw. If you can find your local restaurant supply, you’ll find a jumbo pack of dried chives for probably about $5. Buy it, dump out the chives in your jar, refill the jar, then pass the rest of the restaurant container on to a friend, saying, “you can get the next one”.

“I think China is lying.”
_______________
If their lips are moving, they’re definitely lying.
That’s what the political-class of every country does today, almost to the exclusion of anything else. That’s what happens, when the corruption is endemic, systemic and total.
Openly totalitarian regimes just don’t have to hide it as well. But after a while, even the banana republics (like ours) stop worrying about hiding it. They just don’t care what the public knows anymore, because they’re insulated from it. They’re above the law, they’re not held accountable for anything, and when they do something outrageous enough to draw public attention, their propaganda arm (MSM) has ready-made rehabilitation narratives on demand.
They don’t need our money, that comes from the people who are buying them off. The moment they no longer needed our money, they no longer needed to be responsive in any way to our Rights (or wants). Instead, they are 100% responsive to the Rights and wants of their financial benefactors, which happen to be people moving in the same social, business and political circles of NY, CA and D.C. That is their world, not ours. And that is who they represent (not us).
We’re not even on their ‘radar’, their world consists almost entirely of their bubble of politics and celebrity (and money, and drugs, and power) revolving around (and between) NY, CA and D.C.
The rest of the country might as well be a different planet to them.

___________________
This is the inherent problem with doing ‘pressers’ with enemy combatants.
It has been the problem since day 1.
Fake News is the enemy of the People. DJT says it at every rally, and I think a lot of people think he’s joking or kidding, but he isn’t.
They are always going to do everything they can to minimize anything positive the administration does, and maximize any potential negative the administration does, and wrap ALL of it in a narrative constructed for them by whoever concocts the 4am talking points drop.
MSM is the enemy.
They’re doing what the enemy is supposed to do, i.e., subvert, undermine, mislead, sow confusion and doubt, you name it.
We’re way beyond questioning the integrity or even the reality of what MSM ‘reports’. They are the mouthpiece of the enemy, the weapon used by the enemy to control and manipulate US.
So whatever they say is a lie, or a misdirection, or subversion.
I ignore them almost completely, in fact I wouldn’t know about anything the MSM does if it wasn’t for reading about it here and elsewhere on the interwebs.
I have a family member who watches Fox News and claims to be able to filter out the lies from the truth, and takes pleasure in doing so. Even if they are catching 50% of the lies and misdirection, they are still being taken in by the totality of it, it is still shaping their overall perception.
Fox News is still the source of subject matter, thereby controlling WHAT this person thinks about… and maybe more importantly, what they DON’T think about.
So even if you catch ALL of the lies and half-truths and misdirection and outright propaganda narrative, so long as you are WATCHING, it is exerting influence on you.
It’s like exposing yourself to poison, in order to test your own homemade antidote.
Your antidote (ability to recognize the MSM lies and narrative) may be good, but you’re still intentionally exposing yourself to poison.
Why?
If you stop intentionally exposing yourself to the poison, you don’t NEED an antidote.

“The media slept through the story of Wuhan during December/January because they were fixated on impeachment. ”

Did they sleep through the Wuhan story?
Or did they know all about it, and purposely ignored it, until it exploded and began to spiral out of control, creating fertile ground to sow chaos and panic?
We know what these people are.
It is dangerous to attribute to stupidity that which could be the result of malice or guile.” – Aubergine’s Razor

“Yet, by late February, the media was fairly successful with the idea of mass population testing, creating concern in the urban centers of the northeast/west coast, who are less self-reliant, more demanding of government solutions to individual problems, and those who exhibit hyper-sensitivity….. to…… anything.”
________________
How would we ever know whether they were ‘successful’ at creating concern, or whether everything we’re shown is staged?
This is the problem when the ‘media’ is united and aligned ideologically and controlled financially (and by other means, lots of C_A agent moles in the MSM, for example).
This is why I was hoping Trump would include the MSM in his first round of arrests.
About three years ago.
They have been caught many times, doing things like framing a camera shot ‘just so’, in order to portray a group of 10 people as a ‘mob’.
The narrative engineers create a problem, to suit whatever their current objective might be.
Their employees (MSM) push the fear about whatever the manufactured ‘problem’ is.
The Democrat officials are in on it, and go along with it.
Republican officials are either in on it, or they’re afraid to go against the herd, or they have learned to CYA by not pissing into the wind, so they go along with it too.
The professional narrative engineers are good, they understand linguistics and psychology, and catch-words and phrases. They know what is effective, and they fill their narrative with these ‘hooks’ no different than professional ‘sales copy’ people do to hawk products.
We know this is coordinated because we’ve all seen the news-clip videos of ‘reporters’ (local and national) using the exact same WORDS and PHRASES over and over again.
This ‘sales copy’ is then ‘sold’ by every MSM outlet, 24/7/365. And it’s easy to do, because 90% of MSM is owned or controlled by six multinational companies, and they’re ALL run by globalists / multinationalists / Leftists.
So they control the narrative by controlling what is broadcast… and just as importantly, what is NOT broadcast.
They can create a ‘crisis’ at any time, about almost anything, because they control 90% of all media, which means they control the ‘conversation’, from your office ‘water cooler’ all the way to the Oval Office when the president has to respond to their subversion.
They can push any ‘crisis’ for as long as it suits their purposes. If the ‘crisis’ is working to their advantage, they pour gasoline on it.
If the objective is a particular ‘solution’ or outcome, then they propose and blanket the airwaves with the desired ‘solution’, creating the perception that not only is the ‘solution’ public consensus, but they give no airtime to any potential solution that is NOT their own creation. Or they employ the Hegelian Dialectic. Or they employ Alinsky tactics. There is no shortage of manipulation techniques, but they really only need a few core tactics that are proven and effective.
If the ‘crisis’ is being counteracted effectively, the ‘crisis’ vanishes overnight, and they move on to a new ‘crisis’, a new ‘trap, a new ‘test’ of the administration’s ability to react without misstepping.
It’s a 24/7 game of ‘gotcha’ toward their opposition (Trump / America), while continuously guiding and controlling the subject matter (narrative) and how it is ‘presented’ to the public on a daily basis.
And this game has nothing at all to do with ‘reporting’, or any actual ‘news’. They have to react to major events, but they are back to grinding out their control narrative as soon the ‘major event’ can be memory-holed.
For example, they can keep a false-flag mass-casualty event front and center of national news for weeks if it suits their objectives (e.g., perp was a white male who can be painted as right-wing). Or they can make it disappear overnight (e.g., perp turns out to be a devout muslim or a Leftist or some other protected-class), by collectively changing the subject to a new talking point.
There is no ‘blurring between the lines of journalism and psy-op’.
The MSM is 100% professional psy-op.
All the time.

I got so tired of typing about Coronavirus/COVID/SARS=CoV-2 and leftist stupidity that I decided to cook – having so much food in the house to try to stop it from spoiling.
I made large pan of penne pasta with marinara, spinach, broccoli, onions, peppers, and in one corner chicken filets parmesan, in another corner 8 Publix meatballs I had cooked and frozen for this purpose – and in the other corner is a small dish of Michaelangelos eggplant parmesan. It’s all topped with sauce, herbs, cheese, and in the oven – waiting for the WH Press briefing!
Which YIKES – is right now!

______________
It’s actually kinda fun to type out ‘China virus‘.
It’s hard not to smile, because I know it irks all the right (or Left, actually) people, violating their subversive PC sensibilities.
And DJT has made a very specific point of ‘branding’ the Chinese with this virus.
China.
Virus.
Virus from China.
China virus.
Although I noticed that DJT actually uses the term ‘Chinese virus’, which is interesting, and certainly by design.
It’s STILL not rayciss — China is a country and Chinese is a national identity, and neither one is a ‘race’.
But branding the national identity (Chinese) vs. branding the country (China) is a curious distinction. I would like to know why he chooses ‘Chinese virus’ over ‘China virus’.
It may be that he has conclusive evidence that the Chinese Communist Party released this bio-weapon intentionally, so he wants to identify the Chinese, but he is not (yet) ready to identify the CCP specifically.
If it was the CCP, when the time comes, it will be an easy transition from “Chinese virus” to “Chinese Communist virus”.

The guy talking right now on the press conference keeps using ‘Covid-19’, and he should stop.
First, it’s technical-speak, which is the LAST thing we need, it’s like the OPPOSITE of effective human communication. ‘Chinese virus’ is VERY effective communication. ‘Covid-19’ is Orwellian newspeak by comparison.
Covid-19 a term that is completely dissociated from what it describes or refers to. It’s a generic term which consciously avoids assigning responsibility.
By contrast, Chinese virus is 100% consistent with and descriptive of the threat and its source, and assigns full accountability to that source.
Second, for this guy to constantly call it ‘Covid-19’ after his President calls it ‘Chinese virus’, is off-message, disrespectful and borderline insubordinate.

scott467

Generic was probably the wrong word for ‘Covid-19’ it’s a technical or medical term, a hodgepodge contraction of ‘Coronavirus’ and ‘disease’ and ‘2019’.
This is tech-speak: “COVID-19 (previously known as 2019 Novel Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV)…”
It’s ‘industry jargon’, it’s ‘lingo’ for insiders, it’s NOT how you communicate with the PUBLIC.
Every bureaucrat who uses the term ‘Covid-19’ would get a giant, fat red ‘F’ in Communications Class.
Like astronomers referring to the star Sirius by its astronomical catalogue number (LTT 2638), instead of calling it in a way everybody else would recognize and understand, i.e., ‘Sirius’, or ‘Dog Star’ or even ‘brightest star in the night sky’.
Insider jargon creates distance, or division, distinguishing the ‘inside group’ (who use the jargon) from the ‘outside group’ (who does not know or use the jargon).
Distance is not conducive to communication.
If you care about recognition from your insider peers, use their jargon.
If you care about communicating to normal people, then use normal language.
It’s not rocket-science.
Just ask any rocket scientist 😁

Like the way Hussein insisted on referring to ISIS as I.S.I.L., when he knew that everyone else on the planet called them ISIS.
I’m sure all his academic muckety-muck friends thought it was brilliant, and the bonus was that it differentiated himself (and all the lackeys and apparatchiks who emulated, him and vice-versa) from sounding like regular, normal Americans.

8 more states just went on lockdown.

Apparently DJT means to create a whole new baby-boom generation by locking people in their homes until December, or until they reproduce, whichever comes first.
Let’s get to work, people.

The Quality Engineer wades in….
There are good reasons to use the test.
1. IF Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin ONLY works on the China Virus.
2. The test is more plentiful AND cheaper than Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin.
3. The doctor is concerned about the patient’s possible bad reactions to Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin.
4. To test elderly patients from old folks homes to determine if there is a problem brewing.
5. To test sick people from prison populations….
6. To test sick students & teachers once schools and universities are back up and running….
In LA and San FranFeces
To test a decent sample size of the homeless in different areas to determine if there is infection running through that segment of the population.

It nicely changes the paradigm, doesn’t it?

Thanks for the great big laugh!

Daughn, that is why it should be a doctor who orders the test, (Just like they do most other tests) and hopefully one with a backbone like your EX.
Oh, and I never would have even thought to call my parents about car trouble. Heck when I totaled my car doing 70 thanks to black ice, I didn’t even call them until the next day after the doctor had checked me out since I did not want them to worry. I was 20.

Gail, leaving this here for you to see.

Sobering…
“Such neuroanatomic interconnections indicate that the death of infected animals or patients may be due to the dysfunction of the cardiorespiratory center in the brainstem.”
