Proverbs 3:5 imparts wisdom to its readers: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” There is a big difference between trusting in the Lord and trusting other persons or things. Our trust is not in angels or people or rituals or methodologies but in the Lord alone. And, as the writer of the proverb points out, our trust is not in our own understanding.

To trust in the Lord with all our heart, we must wholly rely upon God’s promises, wisdom, power, and love to help us in every circumstance. Human understanding is subject to error. God, on the other hand, sees and understands all. He is the One we can lean on and trust. We should trust the Lord with all our heart because human understanding is tainted by sin, limited wisdom, impulsive assumptions, and faulty emotions. We are not always right. Proverbs 14:12 reminds us of this: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death”. Sin taints our understanding and leads us to destruction (Ephesians 4:17–18). “Our knowledge is partial and incomplete” (1 Corinthians 13:9). Should we base our understanding on what is partial, sinful, or destructive? Or should we trust in the God who is all-knowing, all-powerful, all-wise, loving, and has good plans to guide, satisfy, and establish us (see Isaiah 58:11)?

God does not change (Malachi 3:6), and His decisions are never capricious or evil. Psalm 92:15 tells us, “The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” God is not evil and will not lead us to destruction. Instead, He leads us into paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). He never lies (Numbers 23:19; Hebrews 6:18), and He is faithful to keep His promises (Psalm 89:34). God’s plans are perfect, holy, and righteous, and He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). God is worthy of our trust.

Trusting in the Lord begins by believing in Jesus for salvation. When we trust in Him, we acknowledge that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). We then get to know God more as we spend time in prayer and Bible study. The more we know God, the more we will love Him. The more we love Him, the more we will trust in Him alone—with all our hearts—for wisdom, for decisions, for everything.

Jeremiah 17:7–8 describes the benefits that come to the person who trusts the Lord with all his heart: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”

Those who trust in the Lord have hope and need not fear difficulty or calamity. They know who is in control of their lives and that He is fully good and true. Proverbs 3:5 is a wise instruction that ends in a promise: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” What a wonderful thing to trust in God with all your heart and to have Him direct your paths!

On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, we can find something here that will build us up a little . . . give us a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God;
do not mourn nor weep.” . . .
“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet,
and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared;
for this day is holy to our Lord.
Do not sorrow,
for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Very courageous.

Kudos to Rose.

If she hasn’t been black balled out of hollywierd work, she will be ostracized soon.

She already has. Main reason she moved to cancun. She can afford to live better.

Can’t say I’d recommend Cacun to any body.

The catch-22 of our time.

Grandmaintexas

Who to trust…

kalbokalbs

Hope Stew vets the folks coming forward.

scott467

That’s all well and good, but it is probably going to take people in very specific circumstances to come forward.

People who:

1) have had enough and were looking to leave medical care for another profession anyway

2) because once they are no longer anonymous, they will likely lose their job or license

3) don’t have enough time in to worry about losing whatever pension they have coming, because that may be taken away

4) being independently wealthy would certainly help

5) having multiple billionaires who are willing to help people who come forward would certainly help. The Left has lots of billionaires who fund all sorts of lies and violence. Why don’t we have any who help people who are willing to come forward and speak the truth?

Nobody likes to talk about it, but as far as I can tell, everything in this world is about money, because money is necessary to survive, and that is why the Nazis are threatening everyone’s means of income.

So until or unless the money problem is solved, I don’t anticipate many people coming forward, unless their circumstances are such that they can afford to lose their job in the medical profession.

With the number of people in the medical profession, there must be at least 1% who fit that category.

According to the Census, there are 22 million people in the U.S. healthcare industry.

Even if only 1/10th of 1% are in that category, that’s still thousands of people.

People are talking about creating parallel economies, so where are the people with the $$$ starting new medical schools based on real medicine instead of jumping through political hoops? Where are the people with the money building new hospitals who hire people who care about doing what is right more than what is politically correct? Where are the people with the money to create escape routes for whistle-blowers to come forward?

The Left has a never ending supply of cash to accomplish every conceivable evil deed.

We don’t have to match their cash, but we have to do better than nothing.

Quick ground report after I’ve recovered from almost two hours of adventures in STL driving.

I went to Mass at the Cathedral at noon. I like to do that on weekends off from the cantor gigs. There was a decent crowd. I’d say around 500-600 people or more in a Church that seats 1500. We always have a lot of tourists there, and a fair number of families. The Cathedral is in the Central West End about three long blocks and two short blocks from the McCloskey’s house. Anyway, in the city, people are supposed to be masked up in enclosed spaces. I would say about a third of the people there were not, and when no big deal was made about masking, more people took them off. There were a lot of babies there today, like last week. Unlike last week, they were not stereophonic. I mean once little kids discover the echo from the ten second delay (it’s been called the sound of Eternity), it’s all over. And, unlike Chicago, Monsignor B led the Prayer of St. Michael the Archangel following the dismissal.

Then I went straight to fetch my mom in EXTREME south county and somehow ended up in the next county south. Yeah, well, I found my way back, and we took the streets up to the Central Corridor, and found out that Telegraph turns into South Broadway at the City Limits. Fascinating. Yet another road that does this to add to the list. There’s so many.

Deplorable Patriot

Never get tired of this place. An old friend was the cantor today, too.

That is how I like a church space is important to me but not more than the message 🙂
Yes the church is beautiful.
We have a German Catholic church in town and a Irish Catholic church. I like the simplicity of the German church. The alter was hand carved in Germany and shipped to the US.
The Irish church is so overdone ornate I find it disturbing but those who worship there like it and that is most important.

Dr. Murthy knows what these “more vaccine measures” are, but gave no information about them on the various Sunday TV talk shows he was interviewed on.
The General Assembly meets on Tuesday, September 12.
This means that “President” Biden would have to announce these “more vaccine measures” either tomorrow, Monday, or early on Tuesday.

Thanks for posting Gingersmom…

It is an excellent redpill. If offered, unfortunately most won’t watch 1) they don’t “want” to watch a long video about anything (there’s a meme going around about that… “the look you get when someone wants you to explain in 15 seconds what makes you believe XYZ about a topic you’ve spent years studying”) and 2) they believe the “official narrative” and shall not be moved! (Why? Because change of any kind is unsettling, unknown. Better to go through the door one is familiar with, right? And, besides, our government would not do such a thing!)

singingsoul1

I watch the whole video when I go to bed and relax. Without interruptions I can watch videos.

kalbokalbs

Mine too. We need so many of those people, right now.

kalbokalbs

Ground report.

Yesterday, IIRC, Sadie reported significant booze shortages in a store she frequents. And, additional product shortages throughout the store. Likened it to just after Covid hit last year.

Smith’s (Kroger) near me. Product shortages across the store. Fruit, vegetables, meat, frozen, chilled, canned, boxed…

Products on shelves NOT faced / brought forward throughout the store.

Was totally surprised.

Perhaps this is a reaction to BiteMe’s edicts last week. Wuhan chatter vilifying unvaxxed as the problem.

Will be watching the store closely, daily this week. Daily cuz I hawk the mark downs which are usually out early and commonly significant.

Likely drift over to Wally World.

Saw a post BiteMe is going to announce some more hate America stuff over vaccinations.

STOCKING UP MAY BE REALLY SMART to do, if folks have not done so by now. If nothing else, top off.

Deplorable Patriot

yeah, no booze shortage here. Uncle Ben’s Long Grain and wild rice that isn’t in the microwave packaging, OTOH, I can only find at Target.

Our local chains source meat, anyway, locally, and some eggs locally. Veggies are another story, although we’re at the end of the growing season, so for the next two months they should be available.

Grandmaintexas

Again, a hundred bucks can help you survive for a couple months. 100 pounds of flour, a block of yeast, 25 pounds of dried beans, etc.

phoenixrising

Don’t forget rice… cheap and lasts forever.

singingsoul1

No yeast for me it is sourdough. My pet sits in the refrigerator until I need it.
Yes bean , rice, caned tomatoes, onions garlic and parmigiana cheese.
The other is great canned black beans or cook dry then cooked with onion and tomato.
Make flour 4-6 tortilla and layer black bean mix with peppery jack cheese on top. Alternate tortilla bean mixture jack cheese ending with black bean and jack cheese then bake in 375 oven until cheese melted and slightly brown. I like to put it in a casserole with an lit on. Two people can easy eat 3 times from it or 4 depending on person
Serve with shredded salad salsa and sour cream.

Sounds delish. The art of the well stocked pantry.

Yesterday, our friend dropped off potatoes. I brought out a garden pizza. He came back with butternut squash and some for our chickens.

I gave him celery starts in the spring. He’s given us onions and seed potatoes beyond what he could plant.

He’s a much better gardener, and I try to keep up, but he knew nothing about celery, go figure.

cthulhu

No one human can be an expert on all life. Only He knows all, and shall suffer not a sparrow to fall without His Notice.

singingsoul1

Bartering is great if one has to offer something. Wow 4 chicken and squash. I love all vegetables and try to grow as much as I can.
You blessed with a good friend 🙂

marymorse

Absolutely. It’s not even barter.

Sadie Slays

Yeah, I had gotten accustomed to the picked over center aisle shelves over the past few months, but it got even worse over here this past week. The most alarming part was that there was noticeably less produce at two different stores I visited. Produce has been one of the few well-stocked aisles during this crisis, so if even that is impacted…

Wolf Moon

Thanks! I was in a Kroger’s recently and they were completely reorganizing the place, in nonsense ways.

I got the distinct impression that it was to COVER UP SHORTAGES FOR THE LOCAL DEEP BLUE GOVERNMENT.

Wolf Moon

Can’t have those Democrat Biden voters seeing shortages.

Cuppa Covfefe

They’ve been doing that here, too.

Remodeling stores, ostensibly to make them brigher, more open, and “more accessible”, but, oddly enough, reducing the total shelf space by as much as 1/2, not only reducing variety, but quantity as well.

So, for the bi-weekly specials (usually Monday and Thursday), where they once lasted two or three days before selling out, they barely make it to noon of the same day…

Fruits, veggies, even meat, are picked through and sold out early. The new arrangement makes that less obvious, but the truth will out…

DEMONRATS the world over…

Wolf Moon

I was thinking that it’s all being diverted to CHINA.

singingsoul1

Kroger rearanges by us all the time. My theory is so one walks all the ilse and pick up more than one needs. This is frustrating.

kalbokalbs

Wally World does this every few years.

singingsoul1

I made sauerkraut today 🙂 Stocking up.
Make my way to the Amish soon to buy vegetables I can can. Make some soup I can can also. Look forward to it what fun 🙂

Aubergine

Homemade sauerkraut is the bomb! I make it, too. And fermented pickles. So healthy.

marymorse

Silver slicers fresh from the garden

https://hudsonvalleyseed.com/products/silver-slicer-cucumber-1

Kosher salt

About 1/3-1/2 c. white wine vinegar

Garden dill

Fresh garlic clove or 2

Red pepper flake, to taste

Clean and slice the cucumbers into spears. Layer into a sterile qt. mason jar. Salt liberally. Splash in some white wine vinegar, add dill seed, flower and leaf, smash garlic clove and add. Add red pepper to taste. Cover with lid, shake, and refrigerate. Let stand in refrig about 48 hrs. Shake daily. Cucumbers will juice out. Silver slicers stay very crisp.

singingsoul1

That sounds so good I have to make them.

marymorse

Very easy. And easy to make small, garden fresh batches. (Some times I only have a few cucumbers, and if I wait for more, they aren’t “24 hrs vine to brine” as they say.)

singingsoul1

Sounds great. 🙂
I would love if someone starts a blog on the
Q Tree forum about recipes we could share.
The topic seems comforting at this time with all the crap going on.

singingsoul1

I should have said a thread.

Aubergine

Yum!

singingsoul1

Have you tried mixing red cabbage with white to make sauerkraut? Fermenting is fun. I love playing in the kitchen . Life should be joy and created something new and do something old.

Aubergine

Yes! The red cabbage kraut is our favorite. So pretty. Fermented carrots with thyme and garlic is another favorite. You are right; life should be joy. And our experience of joy is our own decision every day.

Cuppa Covfefe

Sometimes literally 😀 (especially if you eat too much…)…

A few days back someone posted about fermented foods (kraut, pickles, etc.) being helpful against ChiVirii and a good source of vitamins, minterals, etc. I’m not sure who, or when (where, what, why and how are taking the day off 🙂 ), but it might have been Gail…

I know there’s a TON of vitamin C in kraut…

(And I REALLY miss Kosher Dills [can’t find them here] and my Louis Levinson Pickle Book)…

Than again, there’s Aunt Bee’s pickles (from the Andy Griffith show)…

Aubergine

I remember Aunt Bee’s pickles!

And yes, I remember something about the ferments being good for fighting the virus, too. It was as a source of quercetin, I think. This is a study about fermentation releasing quercetin in brassicas:

Were you wondering what the Ho’s model step daughter with her furry pits and chic ensembles was up to? Well wonder no more!!!! She’s steppin’ out with her, uh, boyfriend.

“Model Ella Emhoff was spotted walking hand-in-hand with GQ editor Sam Hine during New York Fashion Week, just weeks after she confirmed the romance in a magazine interview.

The pair were pictured outside of Thom Browne’s Spring 2022 show on Saturday wearing the menswear designer’s creations – evidenced by his signature ribbon detail.
Emhoff walked the runway for Proenza Schouler on Wednesday, but is apparently taking some time off to enjoy other shows.

The fashion darling, 22, confirmed her relationship with Hine in an August interview with Vanity Fair, where she describes her ‘perfect date as a stop at the market, buying the wackiest produce, and figuring out what to cook with it……..’

Article by Dr. Malone and Peter Navarro:

Sorry Facebook, forced universal vaccinations are not the answer

“On August 5, 2021, we warned against the Biden regime’s forced universal vaccination policy, and Facebook promptly censored us. Now, the World Health Organization Director is pleading that world governments abandon their infinite booster shot madness, warning – as we did – about the possibility of more “virulent” and “potent” mutations. We wonder if Facebook will censor him.

“If we are right – and we have science, facts, and evidence all on our side – there are more than First Amendment rights at stake. Millions of lives – perhaps even the human race itself – hang in the balance.”

Excellent. Timely.

Thank you.

Wolf Moon

This is very interesting. If Tedros and the UN want the world to abandon “boosterism”, it’s because CHINA wants the world to abandon it.

Why would CHINA want to abandon it?

cthulhu

Because they’re all for the long and successful rather than the too-quick failure?

para59r

I’d guess, in the big plan, China also has to give up over 9/10ths of their population. If word gets out their toast. The safer path is the old fashioned war of attrition and right now they might be thinking that is doable. Especially when the West is so bent on surrendering their populations. There’s no need for them to stay committed to this alliance when they don’t have to be.

Wolf Moon

Indeed, China may have been getting “betrayal vibes” from the Faucists and the WEFFEN SS. Better to bail early than to walk along any further with utterly untrustworthy coconspirators.
