And the very well informed will pick Abbott in a heartbeat over Beto.

I once worked with consultants who were forcing a new set of constraints onto a business, and we soon embraced Kuebler-Ross’ “stages of grief” — which, if you go back to the source, apply when people are thrown off-kilter and not just by calamity and death. We’d go to a meeting, and the effected person would go storming off, and we’d calmly look at each other and say “DANDA” — stood for Denial, Anger, Negotiation, Depression, and Acceptance.
It was hard to conceive that someone so vivacious, so full of chutzpah and life, could just disappear forever on some random day. It was like a punch in the gut — we were finally learning to give as well as we got from the Fake News and monoculture swamp, and our guru — our teacher — was taken from us. It seemed all too convenient for TPTB.
My personal experience had anger seething, then simmering, then a low boil. Our Lion had been wrongly taken from us, and deserved an honor guard into the afterlife….
And then, Bill Whittle put out a video that said Andrew’s close friends knew he had a bad ticker and had advised caution. You don’t talk about a friend’s health problems that you had discussed with him in confidence while he is still alive and can fix things….but Whittle felt that he had to say something because the Anger of Grief was consuming people.
Like every competent sinner, I tried to cling to my Wrath — what if Whittle was just trying to tamp people down by telling a tale? But I couldn’t keep it going. I tried a little Despair, just to keep twisting the knife, but the Blogosphere was already reconstituting. Like the mural at OT, the word was “BE BREITBART”. Don’t let this misfortune stuff you in a hole. Honor his memory by standing strong and advancing Truth.

Yes. It’s a client-side issue based on the server re-partitioning the pages and basically telling us to deal with the new partitioning by reloading the pages.

Found out the other day from my sister, who works in hospitals now, that a friend of the family has Covid and is on a ventilator.
She knows the masks are BS. I have certainly discussed the dangers of the vax with her plenty of times, but she got jabbed anyway, because she ‘had to’ (whatever that means) for her medical training.
So when I said the ventilators don’t address the low oxygen problem, and you better hope they’re not pumping him full of kidney destroyer (Remdesivir), and if they will give him Ivermectin he should be out of the hospital in less than a week, she looked at me and pleaded.
She pleaded that I not say anything to the family, that the last thing anyone whose family member is dying needs, is for someone to tell them that if they had done something different, they wouldn’t have died.
WTF does a person even SAY to that kind of response?
Which is worse, to risk some potential butt-hurt, or to SAVE his freakin’ LIFE?!?
Aren’t you missing the IMPORTANT and critical thing here?!?

My Mom was hospitalized for a week, about a month ago. This event required increased communication between my sisters and me.
I researched the various things that would be needed for rehab when she came home, with links and prices, reviews, etc.
A day or two later, we were all on a three-way call.
I referenced the information in the email I had sent to both of them. Neither one had any idea what I was talking about.
I asked if they had received the email I sent the day before. They both said ‘yes’.
I felt a Perry Mason moment coming on, so I cleverly inquired, “Well, did you happen to READ it?!?”

I said you can be sure it took me a helluva lot longer to write it than it would have taken you to read it.

In my defense I do read but avoid his descending rubbish.
No saying you write rubbish but there can be a dynamics between siblings that brings out the worse of personalities. My brother manages to do it so I do not read just skim to make sure no one died and I miss it. I do the same when he calls I put my brain on autopilot. This is all preservation to keep my sanity.

Yes, that is one possible explanation. A very charitable one, an enabling explanation, an explanation that lets them off the hook, removes personal responsibility, by blaming a ‘mass psychosis’ instead.

A big part of it is that on some level, like most people, she still trusts the medical establishment — certainly more than me, evidenced by her startling observation that I’m not a doctor 🙂

She understands on some level that TV / MSM is mostly lies, but like most people, she can’t (or won’t) grasp that there is any collective or guided effort to intentionally deceive on a grand scale, because that would be ‘conspiracy theory’.
So she can allow, for example, that Fauci may be making tons of $$$ through conflict of interest associations with pharmaceutical makers, but he’s still a doctor at the top of his profession for a reason, so he can’t be killing people on purpose or by gross negligence, it’s just unthinkable.
The CDC may be a typical bureaucracy with all the incompetence that entails, but it’s unfathomable that the CDC could be intentionally involved in some kind of massive enterprise fraud.
Many local doctors may be quacks, but they’re not cold, heartless monsters going along with a Covid fraud for profit or self preservation, etc.
So you see how people who want to remain blind can straddle the fence or ‘walk the line’. They can accept the reality of widespread corruption that everyone vaguely ‘knows’ and complains about, without ever getting specific and attaching individual responsibility.
Institutional corruption is (to them) believable.
That individual people, especially people in the public eye or people we encounter personally, could be monsters, is (to them) not believable.
It’s much easier to believe horrible things about nameless and faceless people, about institutions, than about people they know or recognize.

I agree with Steve Cortes. NO IMMIGRATION until we assimilate those already here. ENGLISH AS THE US LANGUAGE PERIOD. No teaching in non-English. My grand parents had to learn English and my father and his brothers and sisters LEARNED TO SPEAK ENGLISH IN SCHOOL. That was what kindergarten was originally for! (Grandma did not want them to learn English with an accent so German was spoken at home.)
My father in law spoke English my mother in law spoke mostly German read German papers listened to German radio.
In 1964 US started to accept Immigrants again. We had low numbers of immigration. I learned English watching BBC. My husband spoke German until he went to school and what ever he learned on English from his friends on the street who also were immigrant kids from all over the world. They all spoke with an accent 🙂

I was accused of knowing English before I came for some strange reason I understood everything after being here for 3 weeks. Gas is $4.65 here. Thats the cheaper gas. Big companies are over $5, and way near $6 in some places. CA swurches to spring fuel and the price always jumps just for that. CA is a commuter state. No other transportation is efficient, not even a bus. The pasta and ramen noodle sections are always empty as it is.
This will bankrupt people and companies.
