RINOs an Endangered Species?
If Only!
According to Wikipoo, et. al., the Northern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum cottoni) is a critically endangered species. Apparently two females live on a wildlife preserve in Sudan, and no males are known to be alive. So basically, this species is dead as soon as the females die of old age. Presently they are watched over by armed guards 24/7.
Biologists have been trying to cross them with the other subspecies, Southern White Rhinoceroses (Rhinoceri?) without success; and some genetic analyses suggest that perhaps they aren’t two subspecies at all, but two distinct species, which would make the whole project a lot more difficult.
I should hope if the American RINO (Parasitus rectum pseudoconservativum) is ever this endangered, there will be heroic efforts not to save the species, but rather to push the remainder off a cliff. Onto punji sticks. With feces smeared on them. Failing that a good bath in red fuming nitric acid will do.
But I’m not done ranting about RINOs.
The RINOs (if they are capable of any introspection whatsoever) probably wonder why they constantly have to deal with “populist” eruptions like the Trump-led MAGA movement. That would be because the so-called populists stand for absolutely nothing except for going along to get along. That allows the Left to drive the culture and politics.
Given the results of Tuesday’s elections, the Left will now push harder, and the RINOs will now turn even squishier than they were before.
I well remember 1989-1990 in my state when the RINO establishment started preaching the message that a conservative simply couldn’t win in Colorado. Never mind the fact that Reagan had won the state TWICE (in 1984 bringing in a veto-proof state house and senate with him) and GHWB had won after (falsely!) assuring everyone that a vote for him was a vote for Reagan’s third term.
This is how the RINOs function. They push, push, push the line that only a “moderate” can get elected. Stomp them when they pull that shit. Tell everyone in ear shot that that’s exactly what the Left wants you to think, and oh-by-the-way-Mister-RINO if you’re in this party selling the same message as the Left…well, whythefuckexactly are you in this party, you lying piece of rancid weasel shit?
Justice Must Be Done.
The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system. (This doesn’t necessarily include deposing Joe and Hoe and putting Trump where he belongs, but it would certainly be a lot easier to fix our broken electoral system with the right people in charge.)
Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is pointless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud in the system is not part of the plan, you have no plan.
This will necessarily be piecemeal, state by state, which is why I am encouraged by those states working to change their laws to alleviate the fraud both via computer and via bogus voters. If enough states do that we might end up with a working majority in Congress and that would be something Trump never really had.

I picked one at random off Youtube. I don’t even have real recordings of his piano concertos, so I don’t “know” them at all. (I grew up on the symphonies, and even though I can’t necessarily identify by number which symphony an excerpt is from I’ll be able to say, “that’s from a Mozart symphony.”) But this is Mozart, who only wrote bad music when he wanted to. I’m going to guess since this one showed up early in the search results, it’s a famous one. (I’m listening to it as I write.)
And yes, he did want to write bad music sometimes, as satire of bad contemporary music.
Why highlight Mozart? Because even Brandon hasn’t managed to find a way to fuck Mozart up. Though that’s probably because he hasn’t got around to it. I wait with dread for that to happen.

What happened to gold and silver?!? I do not watch this market every single day (it’s not worth it unless actively buying and selling short term), but HOLY SMOKES!!! What happened to gold and silver? Believe it or not they went up today to get to those low prices. Palladium went up $170 today, but it was already up over last week. Platinum no doubt had its downs and ups this last week, but it’s right where it started from (continuing to be on sale, relative to gold).
Qubes Update
I’m on it full time, and I even switched from the default xfce desktop (which is what I was using before so it fit like an old shoe), to KDE…which has a reputation for being bloated and slow. However, the last version of it was greatly improved, actually arguably faster than other desktops famous within the Linux world for being very fit and trim. And once you figure out the weird quirks of the setup interface, you can organize its menus however you like and make it fit Qubes perfectly.
It’s working out, folks!
James Webb Space Telescope Update
It’s probably no big secret that I copy the post from five weeks before as a starting point. (That brings the eagle picture along without my having to find it in the media library.) Five weeks ago I said: “ONE out of the 19 instrument modes is commissioned:” which was stupid, because there are 17, not 19 of them.
Now only one of them is NOT commissioned, and it’s Coronagraphy on the NIRCam. I believe that’s where we were last week.
As far as I know NASA is still planning to release real (and beautifully false-colored) pictures on July 12, 12:30 AM MDT
I posted in comments Thursday a “preview” picture that, without actually intending to, shows huge numbers of “background” deep-field galaxies. This thing is going to blow the Hubble Deep Field away when it gets going.

These look like a fairly diverse group of targets. Carina is, IIRC, quite an item of eye-candy.

Gold, silver, and other precious metals are going to be a great investment….until it really looks like they’ve latched onto Psyche and are about to dump a few hundred quintillion dollars (real 2000 dollars) of materials into the solar system economy.
It would likely be similar to what happened to Europe’s economy when the Spanish dumped ships of looted American gold and gems into it.
It would be far, far worse than that.
I suspect it would hurt the PGMs more than gold. There was little here on earth to keep PGMs out of the core, so they ALL sank. Gold at least would sometimes stick to quartz. So, compared to the core, the gold/pt ratio in the crust is, I think higher. Psyche is possibly part of something else’s core, so it will be comparatively PGM rich compared to gold.

Happened to be watching a Devolution Power hour , recorded ‘ last friday’ prior to the 3 day weekend when a guest speaker mentioned silver and gold , in his words *unexplainably dropped*(silver below $20 ) and it might be a good time to invest in some at that price.
As luck would have it, that info was several days old by the time I viewed it..so I quickly checked, and Yup! the price had already gone back up to normal averages.
From what a friend, who watches this closely recently mentioned to me, the well known larger volume sellers (Apmex Pinehurst etc) will no longer allow a buyer to lock in a daily price because it fluctuates so much and are now leaving themselves a 2-3 day window for the *final* price quote. ..more baked into the cake games.. 😉
So the price may change between placing the order and shipping day. Buyer beware.

Just as an example, with a quick glance at the Apmex site this morning , 1oz silver round is @$24.56 and the1 oz silver eagle @ $32.56.. which so happens to be exactly what the price was about 4 mos ago when we made a purchase. So it really hasn’t moved.. it’s fluctuated.
IMHO, everyone should have *some* gold/ silver in a stash under the mattress. buried in the yard for emergency horse-trading so to speak 😁 that amount is whatever you are comfortable with , and it should be somewhat diversified. Food/water/medical supplies/Ammo may become just as valuable WTSHF. Diversify.

Running it on my system spewed out voluminous diagnostics and a bunch of misconfiguration warnings of various colors. It delves into things like whether your BIOS settings are optimal, all the way to best practices in your application settings.
There was some deal where his keys expired when I was doing something else, and I haven’t fixed it yet…..but a fresh install should be straightforward.
I went back and got Lynis running again. He had rotated the key — which meant I had to manually kill the one in /etc/apt/trusted.gpg and install the new in the now empty space.
Further, he moved where apt should expect the repo to be located. This got me a bunch of “duplicate” error messages when I did a “sudo apt update”. Once I fixed that, it updated and upgraded and I’ve got the current version.
And it’s just as helpful as I remember…..
Translation — if there’s something helpful to a foe and not particular useful to a friend, it’s best not to broadcast it.

A wonderful Mozart choice! The second movement of that concerto has been called “Elvira Madigan” because it was used in a movie of that name. (I haven’t seen it and don’t want to associate this piece with it.) I have also enjoyed the pianist Pollini’s playing of Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 (the one with the Funeral March).
Mozart’s “bad” piece, “A Musical Joke,” is still interesting and fun. It has been used as the show theme for the BBC Horse of the Year Show. I can tell things are wrong with it but, lacking knowledge of composition, can’t say exactly what. But the last few notes of that piece are blatantly awful, as if he just gave up. 😂

That is irrelevant. Politicians conceding a race is all fluff. The winner is declared by the governing body of the election. In this case, the Electoral College.
Whether or not the decision of the Electoral College can be changed years later has probably never been determined. Not sure if that can of worms needs to be opened.
The root cause here is corrupt State election processes.
When I say “This has to be fixed” I don’t mean pulling Biden out and Trump in (not that I’d mind) but the *processes* (50+1 of them) need to be fixed. Or we’ll never be able to kick the weasel turds out in a peaceful way.

I kept noticing them this past week and was hoping someone was keeping a record. It’s terrible.
I was just going to ask if others have noticed more deaths of middle aged people in their areas. At least around me there’s been multiple people crashing cars into trees or traffic signs for no reason, except that they died behind the wheel. Have been a number of incidents where people have just slumped over the steering wheel at a light too. Very strange……. (sar)
Being older, we pay attention to the obituaries to make sure we are not in them. Yeah, I know, old joke.
Yes – we have been noticing the ages dropping as well as the volume increasing. As I have posted, we have a SIL in law enforcement. All of it is public info that gets released at some point after investigation. It’s real as are the increases in suicides.
Investigations ignore the elephant in the room.

We are approaching the point where people who have either been sick with COVID or jabbed, need to take preventative cardiovascular actions like blood thinners and endothelial stabilizers, IMO.
Well, I use a few herbs all the time that act as blood thinners. Oregon Grape Root and Hawthorn, primarily. But sometimes nettle and goldenrod, which do it, too. I alternate them to avoid getting too much.
Some of these appear to be happening because of reduction in oxygen.
I personally think that the young people who are dying in their sleep are the ones who would have been diagnosed with sleep apnea in their fifties. When you are young, your body is more able to compensate for things like that, but when you get older, it starts to be noticeable.
One guy on this list, a 32 year old very fit hiker, died in his sleeping bag at 12,000 feet (less oxygen).
Many died during exertion (less oxygen).
I think the damage to the lungs and cardiovascular system by the vax is causing people not to be able to utilize oxygen properly, and when they are exerted, or getting less oxygen for some other reason, their bodies just quit. It wouldn’t have happened pre-vax.
I think I am seeing fewer of these deaths in my area because we had lower vax compliance here.

IMO, the “COVID or jabbed” list needs to include people who got COVID and recovered from it between November, 2019, and December, 2020 (before the “vaccines” were given the first of the EUA’s in December, 2020), and who then refused to take any of the “vaccines”; plus those who refused to take the “vaccines” once they were in use; plus those who are otherwise UN-“vaccinated” and who got COVID and recovered.
So, this makes the pool of people who need to take preventative actions bigger.
The BIG difference is, that those who are UN-“vaccinated” and who got COVID and recovered, have a real chance to get any COVID virus damage to them at least under control, if not reduced or even eliminated.
Those who are “vaccinated”, whether or not they got COVID and recovered, are in a much more difficult situation. The embedded mRNA “instructions” in the enhanced spike protein in the “vaccines” will damage their bodies in so many areas. Nobody knows how long the “instructions” will be working in their bodies. IMO, this was all by design.
IMO, every person who got even one injection of any COVID-19 “vaccine” needs to have the D-dimer test to see if they have microscopic damage to the blood vessels in their lungs. They also need to have the CD4 test to see if there’s damage to their immune system.
FLCCC has protocols for people to follow to prevent and to treat COVID; also, a protocol for people who got “vaccinated.”

Why are the Webb telescope images colors false?
The farther you look in space, the more images are shifted to red. Eventually, you look far enough that everything is red and infrared, which people can barely see — and then even more so that the wavelengths are invisible to human eyes. Nonetheless, the telescope can capture images and patterns in those wavelengths — and, for convenience sake, will print out those pictures in colors we can see…..like the red to violet of a rainbow.
This is “false color” because “real color” would be invisible.

JWST can see in infrared, and seeing redshifted objects was one of many motivations for building it that way.
But the fact is we can do plenty of useful astronomy with it for closer objects too, which often radiate or reflect infrared light.
The false coloring in general is a technique to use visible (red-through violet) colors to render things we’d normally not be able to see (like different frequencies of infrared, or temperature) or sometimes to better highlight something we can see (like brightness). JWST’s picture that I posted on Wednesday was false-color to show changes in brighness (white was bright, red was dim, orange and yellow in between).
Another variant of such things is such applications as gasoline “heat maps” where the colors stand for different prices around the country, or even red-through-purple-through-blue to show how democrat/communist a county is.

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.
In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force. The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gangbanger, and a single gay guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.
There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations. These are the people who think that we’d be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only true if the mugger’s potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat – it has no validity when most of a mugger’s potential marks are armed. People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that’s the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.
Then there’s the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser. People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don’t constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level. The gun is the only weapon that’s as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weightlifter. It simply wouldn’t work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn’t both lethal and easily employable.
When I carry a gun, I don’t do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I’m looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don’t carry it because I’m afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn’t limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation … and that’s why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

I noticed similar today. Despite it being a nice summer weekend day, traffic was unusually light, the stores were empty, and the outdoor restaurant dining areas mostly empty. On the last few trips to the supermarket, there were noticeably less customers. Produce has gone downhill over the past few weeks. It used to be fresh, but now it’s old and sometimes spoiling. I guess it’s not selling fast enough due to less customers and the crap economy.

I’ve been seeing an increase in produce being pulled, along with bakery.
This past week, I saw the local food bank folks walking full shopping carts of produce and bakery stuff out the door. Two carts one time. Three the other.

What’s odd is the lack of media coverage about it. Of course there are other companies…but Vodafone is one of the largest. I have read that there are troubles in Amsterdam as well.

There are many, MANY large apartment blocks owned by large (often international) corporations. THEY are the ones cutting back, not the city.
Part of the latest round of “Energy laws” was a clause that put a major burden of the energy price increases on the landlords, and made it illegal to raise rents just to recover the increase in energy costs.
We rent out a small apartment, and we are not allowed to pass the entirety of the price increses on to our renter. With all of the other anti-property ownder, and, indeed, anti-business cr@p coming from the land of the Greens, it will probably mean we will no longer rent that out. Our son needs his own place anyway… cheaper to not rent it out than to pay all the extra fees, etc. And we’re about 600 miles south of Hamburg (at least it seems that way: the farther, the better 🙂 )….

As a result of its own actions, the former Ukraine will lose 20% of electricity and will not be able to export electricity to the European Union.
At the moment, the ZAES is still included in the Ukrainian energy network, but the criminal economic policy of Kyiv does not allow us to hope for the normalization of relations.
