2024·02·17 Joe Biden Didn’t Win Daily Thread

What is it that feeds our battle, yet starves our victory?

Speaker Johnson: A Reminder.

January 6 tapes. A good start…but then nothing.

Were you just hoping we’d be distracted by the first set and not notice?

Are you THAT kind of “Republican”?

Are you Kevin McCarthy lite?

What are you waiting for?

I have a personal interest in this issue.

This Man is Pissed!

And if you aren’t…what the hell is wrong with you?

Is This Our Anthem?

Or at least our song to march to?

I’m sure most of you know I don’t believe in “devolution” or any variant of “we’re really still in charge” and certainly not the ones that come with “They’re waiting for everyone to wake up.”

No, I don’t think the good guys are in charge. But that makes it even more necessary that people wake up.

This might be the Uncle Tom’s Cabin of our age. (Or perhaps the recent trafficking movie was it. Or maybe both.)

Certainly there seem to be a huge number of people who are finally having the light bulb turning on when they hear this song.

Joining The Herd Of Lemmings

I’ve had cause to consider a few things. Maybe we’re going about it the wrong way, and we need to ditch Trump

Yeah, NO

Trump all the way! Why? Because being hated by the people who hate him is a sign of impeccable character, that’s why.

The haters can go fuck themselves with rusty twelve gauge bore brushes. I’d prefer ten gauge but that’s kind of scarce, so…I’m willing to compromise.

The RINO’s Dilemma

The RINOs who who have burrowed in and taken over most GOP organizations, from the state down to local organizations, have quite a dilemma on their hands, and most of them have their heads too far up their asses to realize it.

OK, I’m not talking about the liberal in a Republican area, who knows they’re in the wrong party, but is there because it’s the only game in their town; they hope to capture a nomination someday, at which point they’re guaranteed to be elected…otherwise, they never will be. These people are a hazard in any heavily conservative area.

No, I’m talking about the guys who are a little bit conservative and want to do some good by going into politics, and they’re in a closely matched area, closely enough that they can join the party they are most aligned with and still have a chance. They think the Democrats…particularly the ones who end up running for office…are nuts.

They don’t think much better of the Deplorable types, either. A bunch of bumpkins whose hearts are in the right place, mostly…OK a bit extreme. But they think Deplorables can’t understand that first you have to get elected, then work within the system to change things…a slow process. They genuinely want many of the things Deplorables want…just not as much. The government is spending too much. Or they need to spend money on highways instead of welfare for illegal immigrants. But they want to work within the system to get these things done.

Or maybe they think things are pretty close to ideal right now, and they want to nail it in place.

The problem is, that means they don’t stand for anything in particular. And it shows. They’re about as unappetizing to the electorate as a puddle of dog vomit. The folks in the middle, who they think they are appealing to because they themselves are not extreme, would honestly prefer a clear-spoken radical to someone who qualifies everything they say to the point where they sound like they don’t believe anything at all.

The problem these “Mild RINOs” have, is they just can’t see that. And the reason they just can’t see that, is their entire sense of self-worth is tied up in not seeing that. In their minds, they’ve worked tirelessly for their party, to keep those crazy Democrats out…only to have to constantly fight with a small number of crazy Republicans–who are only liabilities if they end up as candidates. They’ve fought the good fight, and if they can just find the right candidate, someone with some charisma, they might stop the crazies…without being too beholden to the OTHER crazies. In the meantime it’s not working. What’s a responsible guy in politics to do?

They simply cannot understand that the Republicans can’t succeed as the party of nothing in particular. Not really in the past, and certainly not today when people are starting to realize that no matter what they do in the voting booth, the country is still about to fly off a precipice. If they did see it, they’d suddenly have two choices: Go away and let the GOP succeed, or stay and fight. But “go away” isn’t really an option, because what’s the point of having a party now owned by the crazies, win?

Well, they have a dilemma…and WE, therefore have a problem. And we would have that problem even IF they realized that they had a problem…that they were the problem.

No one ever thinks they are the bad guy. Even Epstein probably thought he was the good guy. Right up to the moment where he didn’t kill himself.

So if you ever wonder why these unappetizing dufuses cling on even when their fingernails are being left behind…that’s why. They don’t understand no one wants them, and can’t imagine that no one should want them. And oftentimes their greatest pride is in all the hard work they’ve done for the party. They’re not going to give that up; it’d be psychological suicide.

If you’ve worked with these people, there’s a good chance you like them and consider some of them your friends. But even if so…we’re going to have to give them a good, hard shove. Because America is more important than those milquetoasts’ egos.

Justice Must Be Done

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.

Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.

OK now for the fine print.

This is the WQTH Daily Thread. You know the drill. There’s no Poltical correctness, but civility is a requirement. There are Important Guidelines,  here, with an addendum on 20191110.

We have a new board – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation.

And remember Wheatie’s Rules:

1. No food fights

3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
4. Zeroth rule of gun safety: Don’t let the government get your guns.
5. Rule one of gun safety: The gun is always loaded.

Spot (i.e., paper) Prices

Last week:

Gold $2,025.40
Silver $22.69
Platinum $884.00
Palladium $887.00
Rhodium $4800.00

This week, 3PM Mountain Time, markets have closed for the weekend.

Gold $2,014.20
Silver $23.49
Platinum $915.00
Palladium $972.00
Rhodium $4,850.00

On Wednesday gold got clubbed by the markets like a baby seal. It dropped well below $2000. In essence the Big Money in the financial markets finally decided the Fed wouldn’t be dropping interest rates any time soon. That, of course, increases the nominal yield of dollar-based instruments, so the Big Money hominids moved at least some of their money out of gold.

Friday’s close price represents a recovery from that Big Dump.

The Moon

I was originally going to write about Mercury, but it turns out to be more complex than the Moon, and since I like to build on prior ramblings, it’s more logical to do it this way.

The Moon and Sun are the two compact objects in the sky that you can see detail on without magnification. Though you’d better have a filter to cut out 999,990/1,000,000ths (or thereabouts, call it 17 stops if you are a photographer) of sunlight before you go looking at the Sun for any length of time.

Everything else up there looks like a point of light, or is a cloud of gas or dust that will be a bit fuzzy (those are non-compact objects). The visible planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and just barely, Uranus) actually have a little more breadth as seen from Earth, than do stars, which is why they don’t usually twinkle…ripples in the atmosphere are unlikely to blot the whole thing out.

So let’s consider the Moon.

It’s very close, vastly closer than other planets. I mentioned that the Astronomical Unit is the basic “yardstick” for distances in the solar system; it’s the average distance between Earth and Sun and comes in at about 150 million kilometers or 93 million miles.

The Moon averages 0.00257 AUs away, in other words about 1/400th of an AU. Which means it is 1/400th as far away as the Sun.

Using bare eyeballs, the obvious features of the Moon are that it has bright and dark areas, and it goes through phases.

Paying a bit of attention to patterns, we note that the Moon is sometimes close to the Sun, and sometimes far away in the sky, and that the phases correlate to the distance; when the Moon is close to the Sun, it’s a crescent…the closer it is, the thinner the crescent. When the Moon is roughly 90 degrees away from the Sun, it looks like a half circle; when its more than 90 degrees away but less than 180, it’s in a shape called “gibbous,” and when it is 180 degrees away, at the opposite side of the sky, rising at the same time the Sun sets and vice versa, it’s a full circle. The pattern then reverses, the Moon becoming gibbous, than half full, and a crescent. The sequence repeats every 29.5 days, this is the lunar month and is ultimately the origin of our calendar months even though the lengths don’t match up.

This is one of those many times that geometry plays a role in understanding astronomy. If you understand the relative positions of things, and are able to imagine your point of view being at one corner of a triangle, the phases of the Moon become very understandable. It’s a sphere, and the part we can see is what the Sun is shining on. The next time you see the Moon during the daytime, draw in your mind’s eye the complete circle, and note that the lit part is the part nearest to the Sun.

(I apologize to those who find this too obvious to need me to belabor this. But I know from personal experience there are some who not only don’t understand this, but will assert the exact opposite is true, asserting the lit side of the Moon faces away from the Sun, etc.)

The direction of motion is invariable, too. If you sit and watch it one evening, it’s obviously going from east to west…but that’s an illusion, caused by the Earth’s rotation. If the Moon is just above the western horizon after sunset one day (and it will be a thin crescent), the next day, it will be higher above the horizon at sunset, further from the Sun, and a fatter crescent. This tells you it’s really moving west-to-east (right to left if you’re in the northern hemisphere). If instead of comparing it to the Sun, you compare it to the background stars (a much better “absolute” reference frame), you’ll see it’s moving west-to-east a bit faster than you thought comparing it to the Sun. (And it will become evident, as you notice that stars set earlier and earlier each evening, that the Sun is itself moving west to east against the background stars, at least from our point of view here on Earth. It’s just not doing so nearly as fast as the Moon is.)

That about wraps up the phases, now let’s discuss those dark and bright areas. This is like the case of the “dog that did not bark” (which realization helped Sherlock Holmes solve the case in one of the classic stories). The important thing is what is not happening. Those dark and bright areas don’t change. Oh, they may or may not be visible depending on the phase of the Moon, but they don’t change. They don’t move.

If the Moon is a sphere, as shown from its phase behavior, it always presents the same face to us here on Earth. It doesn’t rotate.

Actually, it does. If you step away from Earth and adopt the stars as your frame of reference, the Moon does indeed rotate, once every orbit. Since the rotation is in the same direction as its orbital path around the Earth, the effect is to present the same face to the Earth, all the time.

In this diagram, on the left the Moon is shown rotating (relative to a “God’s Eye View” once per month, but keeping the same face to the earth. If it didn’t rotate, you’d have a situation like the right hand side of the diagram, where people on Earth can see all of the Moon’s surface over the course of a month.

This 1-1 match of rotation to orbital period is sometimes presented as a cosmic coincidence and I’ve even seen people try to present it as proof that Someone set it up that way to send us a message. But as I will show later on, it would be more incredible if it did not do this.

OK so on to the Moon itself.

We know the Moon better than any other astronomical body, both from the fact that it’s practically sitting in our laps, comparatively speaking, and from the fact that we’ve actually sent people there and brought pieces of it back. Unlike almost everything else up there we can put pieces of the Moon in a test tube.

Here is a comparison of sizes, Moon to Earth, with a lot of other planets’ moons for comparison:

(And that brings up a point: moons are astronomical bodies that orbit planets, which in turn orbit the Sun. But the Moon (and notice the capital M), is the particular astronomical body that orbits the Earth. Before 1609 it was the only moon known, so it naturally ended up with the generic name…or rather, it gave its name to the entire class of objects–that being reference in the diagram’s title. Of course, in a sentence it’s awkward to just say “Moon” without “The” in front of it: “Moon orbits the Earth” sounds like a headline, not like good grammar. It’s a proper noun, so it shouldn’t need a “the” in front of it, yet it does. In most other cases “the” in front of a noun makes it not a proper noun. For example, “The president” versus “President Trump”; in the first case it’s not a proper noun, in the second case it’s part of a proper noun. Note in the diagram it’s just capital-M “Moon”. The Sun has the same issue. It’s never just called “Sun.” Earth has a tendency to glom onto “the” too but a bit but less so; you can leave off “the” without having it sound awkward because no class of bodies are called “earths”. Personally I’d be perfectly happy giving “the Moon” a unique proper name that doesn’t mean every body like it, and in science fiction it’s often called “Luna” [though that’s just “Moon” in another language].)

So you have a size comparison. How about mass? It turns out the Moon has 1/81 the mass of Earth, yet it’s about 1/50th the volume. That indicates that its average density is less than that of Earth. The average cubic centimeter of Earth is 5.5 grams, for the Moon it’s 3.344, 60.6% of Earth’s; for reference water comes in at 1.0, typical rocks range from 2 to 3 g/cc, and iron comes in at 7.87.

You could take a wild guess and say this means that the Moon has much more rock and less iron in it than Earth, and you’d be right. It is believed that the Moon has a solid iron core, a small one maybe only 200 miles across, with some liquid iron above it, but it’s mostly rocks.

The Moon has essentially no atmosphere. The atmosphere it does have is so thin it might as well be a vacuum; the total mass of the entire atmosphere is estimated at about ten (metric) tonnes. (When you consider that is spread out over a surface that’s larger than North America…that’s thin.)

Because the Moon is essentially airless, the day side bakes under the Sun, and the night side freezes because there is no insulating blanket to keep it from doing so, and no wind to carry heat from one side to the other. Temperatures range from 100-390 K (with 0 Fahrenheit being 273 K), or -173 to +117 C.

The Moon has almost no carbon or nitrogen, and water is absent except in permanently shadowed craters at the poles, where it is in the form of ice. What about oxygen? The Moon has plenty of that, but not in the form of air; rocks are largely composed of oxygen. That’s true on Earth, too; the oxygen in the air and in the water is but a tiny fraction of all of the oxygen on (and in) the Earth. Crustal rock (what you see) is on average 47% oxygen by mass. Yes almost half of what you stand on is oxygen, down for hundreds or even thousands of miles.

The surface gravity is 1/6th that of Earth. The following gif shows (in real time, not slo-mo) an astronaut jumping as he salutes the Flag.

At such low gravity people lose their balance easily; the gravity isn’t quite enough to trigger the body’s “gut sense” of up and down. That plus the mass of those big backpacks throwing off their centers of gravity tended to make the astronauts clumsy on the Moon.

OK, so let’s go back to the Moon always presenting the same side to the Earth. This is, in fact a perfectly normal effect of (wait for it) tidal forces. [I told you they’d come up again and again…well, this is the first time so maybe you still doubt the “again and again” part.]

As prominent as the tides are on Earth, the lunar contribution to them, the tidal effect of the Moon on the Earth, is only going to be 1/81 the tidal effect of the Earth on the Moon.

Even though the Moon is essentially a ball of rock, it will flex under tidal forces and that will have some unexpected effects. (The Earth’s solid surface rises and falls almost 40 centimeters in response to the tidal forces from the Moon and Sun.)

What happens is the Moon elongates a bit, roughly along a line from Earth to Moon. It is thought that the Moon rotated at a very different rate at some point in the past, so the tidal bulge would actually move along the Moon’s surface as it rotated with respect to Earth. However, this wasn’t instantaneous. If you were standing on the Moon back then, you’d expect the tidal bulge to be maximum when the Earth was directly overhead, but in fact the bulge arrives sometime after that time. Which means your bit of the Moon has rotated past the point where Earth was overhead. The Earth, having raised the bulge, also pulls on it…giving the Moon a slight tug to slow its rotation down. Run that for millions of years and the Moon eventually just stops rotating with respect to the Earth.

This isn’t just our moon, it’s every moon. Every one of the twenty moons in that diagram I presented above that’s large enough to be round is tidally locked to the planet it orbits. (If you’re going back to count, Hyperion is the largest one that’s not round.) It would be weird if any of them weren’t. It’s also an important piece of evidence that the solar system as a whole is many millions of years old. Or to flip that around, if some moon weren’t tidally locked to its primary, it would be clear evidence that that moon had not been in that orbit for very long, geologically speaking.

Speaking of orbits, these tidal effects have another consequence: They’re causing the Moon’s orbit to get larger over time. This isn’t just theory, we’ve measured it by bouncing lasers off reflectors left on the Moon by the Apollo astronauts.

How does this work? One contributing factor is those tidal bulges. Just as the Earth pulls on those tidal bulges on the Moon, the Moon pulls on those tidal bulges on the Earth, slowing our rotation down (and our days are, indeed growing gradually longer. Given a lot of time we would become tidally locked to the Moon, but the Sun will have gone red giant and possibly destroyed the Earth and Moon long before then). But since the tidal bulges on Earth’s surface are basically ahead of the Moon’s position, they pull on it, and the Moon pulls on them. That actually causes the Moon to speed up, just a tiny bit. But if you’re in an orbit and you speed up, you end up making the orbit larger (and ironically, then slowing down more than you sped up). So, the Moon gets further from the Earth, at a rate of 38 millimeters per year. (And, as I said, this has been measured.)

More info on tidal locking: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_locking

Earth and Moon are unusually close to each other in size. All of those other big moons in the diagram above orbit planets much larger than Earth. Since bodies actually orbit their common center of gravity, the sheer size of the Moon makes the center of gravity 4,670 kilometers above the center of Earth. Although this is still below the Earth’s surface (which is 6378 km out), it’s still most of the way to being outside of the Earth. In fact, many regard the Earth and Moon as a double planet. (Pluto and its moon Charon are actually closer to each other in size and the barycenter is actually outside of Pluto. Were they planets, they’d definitely qualify as a double planet.)

So what accounts for this freakishly large Moon? How did it get there?

Based on analysis of the rocks brought back from the Moon, our best theory is that, shortly after the Earth formed, when it was still red hot, another planet, about the size of Mars (but not Mars) collided with Earth, not directly head on but a bit obliquely. A lot of Earth’s outer layers were blown out into space, as well as most of the matter from the other planet, and went into orbit about Earth, very rapidly (over tens of thousands of years) collecting to form the Moon. Since the Moon ended up mostly made of the stuff from the other planet, that explains why its composition is subtly different from Earth’s.

This is called the “Big Thwack.” And astronomers have even named the planet that hit the proto-Earth; they call it “Theia.”

Immediately after its formation from all of the debris, the Moon would have been much closer to Earth (and tidal forces much, much, much stronger); its present distance of roughly a quarter of a million miles is the result of over four billion years of tidal action. Tides on earth would have been measured in hundreds if not thousands of meters.

One other “big result” from studying rocks from the Moon is that we are pretty confident of an event called the “Late Heavy Bombardment.” The solar system formed between 4.6 and 4.5 billion years ago, and in those early days, before planets had coalesced, there were a lot of rocks out there, small objects in orbit about the Sun. Planets grew by impacting with and absorbing these objects. After a (comparatively) brief amount of time most of that junk should have been swept up, but about 500 million years later, there was another spate of bombardments by sky junk, asteroids and comets. This hit every planet in the inner solar system, and the Moon and Mercury in particular bear the scars, because their surfaces are essentially unchanged since then. Of course if all we can do is look we just see craters. But we were able to radio-isotope date the moon rocks so it became apparent that many of those rocks formed well after the crust should have solidified after the initial formation. So now, we believe, something happened to cause a later barrage of material to plunge into the inner solar system. This is, however, based largely on lunar samples and we might just have happened to get a bunch of rocks from one impact (it’s unlikely but possible). So we want to collect many more samples from all over the moon to try to confirm this.

As I mentioned before the Moon has light and dark blotches on it. The light areas turn out to be mountainous areas with terrain; the dark areas are flat, reminding many of seas. (And the Latin names get translated into English, for example the Sea of Tranquility, where Apollo 11 landed.) In fact they are called maria (plural of Latin mare) for that reason. And it turns out they probably were seas once; seas of lava brought to the surface by big strikes from the Late Heavy Bombardment.

The presence of our Moon has had major effects on Earth, not “just” the tides; its presence acts as a stabilizing factor on our axis of rotation. Were it not for the Moon, the Earth’s axial tilt could vary a lot more than the one or two degrees that it actually does, and that would make it hard for life to survive here. And there’s speculation that the significant tides we have, may have been necessary for life to get started in the first place. If so, that makes life a rarity, because Earth sized planets with large moons are likely a rarity too.

There’s one last random factoid I want to share. I mentioned earlier that some believe that the Moon’s turning the same face toward the Earth is a cosmic coincidence, when it actually isn’t. But there really is one cosmic coincidence that should be mentioned. As I mentioned before, the Moon is 400 times closer to us than the Sun. I didn’t mention that the Sun is about 400 times the Moon’s diameter. Which means that the Sun and Moon look almost exactly the same size as seen from Earth. And indeed there are times when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, and at that point it covers the Sun’s disc quite neatly, resulting in a solar eclipse that covers the Sun, but not much of the Sun’s atmosphere (also called the Sun’s corona). This relationship isn’t perfect, and it’s possible for a lineup like this to happen when the Moon is as far away as it gets in its orbit, and, because it looks smaller at that distance, it doesn’t quite cover the Sun resulting in an annular eclipse (one happened last year, I posted photos).

Coming up on April 8, we will see a total eclipse of the Sun across much of the United States, in a swath running from Texas to Maine. I highly recommend you go see it if at all possible…do not settle for anything less than totality. If you see a 99% eclipse because you weren’t quite in the right place, you’ve wasted an opportunity.

What’s up with gold?

Not the price.

Bwahahaha.

LOL!

scott467

I saw somewhere that the gold ETFs have lost over $2 billion dollars since the Bitcoin ETFs launched last month.

No idea where all that money from the gold ETFs is going.

Cuppa Covfefe

WEFfenSS, no doubt. Probably planned it among their caviar, decadent canapes, whilst swilling impossibly expensive champagne and entertaining crazy plane ladies (I made that last one up 🙂 )….

pgroup2

So it’s not real?

kalbokalbs

Only real in one’s imagination, I would guess. But then again, I am the Slow Guy here.

scott467

I was being sarcastic about that last part.

The person who reported the outflow from the gold ETFs said it was going straight into the Bitcoin ETFs, as the Bitcoin ETFs offer further diversification, better risk adjusted returns, better CAGR and lower fees.

scott467

“$2 billion is a drop in that particular bucket.”

“But I would at least be concerned for the potential of a pump-and-dump in Bitcoin land.”

___________

They tried the old ‘buy the rumor, sell the news’, where for a brief moment it hit $49k and then dropped to around $39k, but unless they were very fast, the people who played that game couldn’t get back in before the price was back up again.

There is too much buying pressure. If I remember correctly (I get daily updates), after 23+ trading days, the average inflow to the 9 new Bitcoin ETFs is nearly half a billion dollars per day, or around 10,000 Bitcoin per day.

When the Gold ETFs were launched, they went up for 8 straight years before reaching equilibrium, causing many to predict a similar trajectory for the Bitcoin ETFs (which would end the 4-year boom-bust cycle, replacing it with an 8 year super cycle).

And the ETFs (Blackrock, Fidelity, ArkInvest, etc.) haven’t even begun marketing them to their clients yet. Apparently they are still training their advisors on how to sell the Bitcoin ETF product to clients who are unfamiliar with the new asset class, and waiting for at least the first quarter returns, to be able to show how well the new fund is doing.

Fidelity, Blackrock and the other Bitcoin ETFs (and Schwab is applying for a Bitcoin ETF now) have a combined total of something like $25+ trillion in assets under management.

A 1% allocation (of $25 trillion) is $250 billion, and according to Bank of America, the Bitcoin multiplier is 118, meaning for every $1 invested in Bitcoin, the market cap of Bitcoin rises $118.

The current market cap of Bitcoin (as of today) is $1.01 trillion.

If the ETFs do a 1% allocation of assets under management ($250 billion), and the price remained unchanged (it wouldn’t), $250B x 118 = $29.5 trillion added to the current $1.01 trillion Bitcoin market cap, for a total of $30.5 trillion.

Around 19 million (of 21 million total before mining ends) Bitcoin have been mined, and of that amount, it is estimated that at least 4 million is lost or unrecoverable, leaving 15 million Bitcoin in circulation.

So $30.5 trillion ÷ 15 million Bitcoin = $2,033,333 per Bitcoin, if the new Bitcoin ETFs allocate just 1% of assets under management.

A 2% allocation = $4,067,000 per Bitcoin.

A 3% allocation = $6,100,00 per Bitcoin.

That’s if the price of Bitcoin stays at $50k and doesn’t go up any, i.e., if the price stayed flat, as the ETF fund managers pour $250 billion (or $500 billion, or $750 billion) into it. Of course, the price would go much higher as that money was allocated.

As mentioned above, the ETFs inflows are averaging about $500 million per day, which means 10,000 Bitcoin are being bought by the ETFs and removed from the Bitcoin exchanges every trading day.

The Bitcoin miners are only able to mine 900 Bitcoin per day, that’s the limit, so demand from the U.S. ETFs alone is more than 10x daily supply (not counting demand from ETFs in the rest of the world, or individual retail purchases, or any other demand).

And then in April of this year, “the Halvening” occurs, the end of the 4-year cycle, where the amount of Bitcoin that can be mined is cut in half, from 900 per day down to 450 per day. At that point, if demand remains constant from the ETFs, the demand will be over 20 times the daily supply.

People point out that there is additional supply available from the 15 million Bitcoin in circulation, but of that, something over 70% hasn’t moved in over a year, it is being held for future price appreciation, because the price must go up after the halving. If it doesn’t, miners shut down (because they are no longer profitable at half the previous daily production), and when miners shut down, the supply drops, until the price goes up enough to make it profitable to plug the miners back in again.

So that’s a long way of saying that very few people are selling in advance of the April halvening (it is called both ‘halving’ and ‘halvening’).

Fidelity Asset Mgmt. in Canada has already recommended at least a 1% allocation to their clients in their conservative portfolio, and I think 2 to 3% in their growth portfolio. U.S. Fidelity will almost certainly follow suit, as will the others.

If I remember correctly, Cathie Wood of Ark Invest has recommended 7.9% as the optimum allocation to their Ark Invest Bitcoin ETF (ticker symbol ARKB, for Ark Bitcoin).

She says the optimum current allocation is actually (or should be) 19.4%.

“Bitcoin is if anything much more volatile (big ups and downs) than gold.”

_____________

It has been, because until the January launch of 9 ETFs, the market for Bitcoin has been entirely retail investors.

Now, the most massive asset managers in the world are buying.

There are about 250 trading days in a year. If the Bitcoin ETF fund managers make a 1% allocation of assets under management ($250 billion) to Bitcoin, that’s a billion dollars per trading day on average, or twice the current ETF inflow of $500 million per day.

I get the impression that what is happening with Bitcoin is something many people simply cannot grasp, both because the numbers are too big, and because the supply is so finite.

There is no other asset class on earth with a finite supply.

If the price of gold doubles, we can be sure exploration and mining will increase dramatically, more gold will be brought to market, and equilibrium between supply and demand will be established again.

Same with real estate. As demand increases, governments authorize the construction of more housing.

Same with stocks. If the price of a company’s stock gets too high, they just do a 3-for-1 or 5-for-1 stock split, increasing the number of shares available, which brings the price per share down.

This is how the price of everything, measured in dollars, is manipulated.

Supply can always be increased to meet increased demand.

Except Bitcoin.

With Bitcoin, supply is FIXED, and the supply gets cut in half every four years.

So at the moment, 900 Bitcoin are mined every day. If the price of Bitcoin suddenly went to $5 million per Bitcoin, or $10 million, or $20 million, the amount of Bitcoin that could be mined would still be only 900 per day.

In April, the amount that can be mined drops to 450 per day, no matter what the price is.

In April 2028, the amount that can be mined drops to 225 per day, no matter how much demand there is, no matter how high the price is.

In April 2032, the amount of Bitcoin that can be mined drops to 112.5 per day.

In April 2036, the amount of Bitcoin that can be mined drops to 56.25 per day.

Bitcoin is the only asset, in the world, whose supply cannot be increased to meet increased demand.

Not only can the supply not be increased, but the supply is actually going down, predictably, every 4th year, by half.

People have no frame of reference for an asset class with these characteristics.

So many people simply don’t believe it.

And it is very hard to understand something we don’t believe.

But it’s just math.

That’s why it’s called ‘number go up’ technology.

Please

I would think that the overall supply of BC isn’t going down, but the supply of *new* BC is decreasing.

When 900 BC are mined, that 900 is added to the current supply.

Or do I have it wrong?

scott467

Yes, well it’s both actually, due to people losing access to their Bitcoin, like losing change in your couch, except it can never be found again.

The total amount that can ever be mined is 21 million Bitcoin. The last Bitcoin will be mined something like a hundred years from now, and then mining stops, and all new supply stops.

Currently, 900 Bitcoin is mined every day and added to the total supply in existence.

Around 19 million Bitcoins have been mined since 2009, but at least 4 million (others estimate over 5 million) are lost or unrecoverable, so the actual current amount in circulation is around 15 million or less, with 900 new Bitcoin mined and added to circulation per day.

In April this year, the supply (newly mined Bitcoin) drops from 900 per day to 450 per day.

So yes, the supply of *new* Bitcoin is decreasing, every 4 years.

The current existing supply only decreases when people lose their passwords (which happens every day, mostly in small amounts, but which adds up over time), or as has happened with a few wealthy people with large Bitcoin holdings already, they pass away without leaving their password to their heirs.

The U.S. mint accounts for currency that is lost every year and can replace it.

There is no mechanism to replace lost Bitcoin.

Most people who invest in Bitcoin don’t wish for others to lose their Bitcoin, but as a practical matter, when someone’s Bitcoin is lost or unrecoverable, it is good for everyone else, because the available supply (amount in circulation) goes down with each loss, which makes the remaining Bitcoin in circulation more valuable.

scott467

Yes, I meant NEW supply gets cut in half every four years, sorry for the confusion!

Current existing supply (Bitcoin in circulation) only goes down when people lose their password, so their Bitcoin is ‘lost’ (technically, unrecoverable).

This is one of the reasons many people like the Bitcoin ETFs, because they don’t have to worry about personal custody.

“We Will Continue the Fight on Appeal!” – Trump Responds to Judge Engoron’s Verdict Ordering $350 Million+ Fine, 3-Year Biz Ban in New York

“A Crooked New York State Judge, working with a totally Corrupt Attorney General who ran on the basis of “I will get Trump,” before knowing anything about me or my company, has just fined me $355 Million based on nothing other than having built a GREAT COMPANY. ELECTION INTERFERENCE. WITCH HUNT (more to follow!).” Trump said on Truth Social on Friday afternoon.

“The Justice System in New York State, and America as a whole, is under assault by partisan, deluded, biased Judges and Prosecutors. Racist, Corrupt A.G. Tish James has been obsessed with “Getting Trump” for years, and used Crooked New York State Judge Engoron to get an illegal, unAmerican judgment against me, my family, and my tremendous business. I helped New York City during its worst of times, and now, while it is overrun with Violent Biden Migrant Crime, the Radicals are doing all they can to kick me out….” Trump said.

Has anyone in the goverment (such as it is) of New York considered the effect of this decision on other businesses in the city or the state? If it is possible to issue a massive fine like this to Trump based on the fact that value appraisals can be different for different purposes, how may others will get cold feet and decide to leave, ere they are pulled in and put in front of some judge?

Maybe this question is just rhetorical, as the blindness of the anti-Trump faction is epic…

Gail Combs

They are being paid off by outside interests who will come in and buy up the properties at pennies on the dollar.

The did something similar during the 1933 crash. The elite HAD already withdrawn their money from the stock market and were ready to pounce when everything came up for sale at rock bottom prices.

They don’t care, nobody in government cares about the duties or obligations they have to the People over whom they govern.

It’s not even the slightest consideration.

It can’t be, because if it was, it would necessarily be the biggest consideration, and we know it’s not, not even a little.

The government is so totally corrupt, that as a practical matter, the People don’t even exist to them.

The only purpose for gov’t now is the exact same as the purpose of the mafia.

To use their monopoly on force to enrich themselves at the expense of others.

I prefer the Mafia. They at least had some ethics.

I’m sure every person who owns real estate in New York knows this is a banana republic style political persecution of Trump.

But now that precedent is being set, every commercial property owner in New York could be next in the crosshairs of the Totalitarian State, and that can’t be good for commercial real estate values.

Which are already cratering as it is.

I’m very glad that Ivanka wasn’t fined like her brothers but I can’t understand why she wasn’t. Why did they spare her?

A statement during the trial~~~ “She clearly was involved in negotiating and securing loans, favorable loans, for the benefit of the Trump Organization, for Mr. Trump, for her brothers and for herself,” said state Attorney General Letitia James outside the courtroom. “At the end of the day, this case is about fraudulent statements of financial condition that she benefited from.”~~

Also, WHY are corporations (and their officers) ‘Protected’ but the Trumps are not.

The unanswerable question I have seen asked, which blows this case completely out of the water is:

WHO gets the money?

No one lost any money, no one claimed any damages, there is no “plaintiff” who is owed anything. So where does the money go?

Since that question is “nowhere,” this case is moot. In my humble, non-legal opinion, of course.

Modern women are looking for guys with Triple 6: over 6 feet tall, 6-pack abs, and a 6-figure salary. 🤭 Me, me, me…

I suppose these women think they are “all that” when it comes to what men want?

I hope they will wake up in the real world one day. They need to watch the movie “Marty,” from 1955.

I’m not hearing anything about the things that make relationships work: treating one another with gentleness and respect, connecting on a spiritual level, putting someone else’s needs above one’s own and serving one another, etc. Servanthood used to be the norm, when men sacrificed their own desires to work and support their family, and women sacrificed their desires to take care of their husband and children.

Cuppa Covfefe

And “triple six” (i.e. 666) is the origin of all that selfish, misdirected desire…

scott467

“Modern women are looking for guys with Triple 6: over 6 feet tall, 6-pack abs, and a 6-figure salary. 🤭 Me, me, me…”

_________

It’s actually far worse than I even thought. Ever since my discussion with Aubergine a couple weeks ago, this stuff has been showing up in my youtube suggestions.

I tried to ignore it at first, but it’s like watching a train wreck that kicks off the Apocalypse, so it’s hard to look away 😂

.

scott467

“I suppose these women think they are “all that” when it comes to what men want?”

__________

Yes, due to several factors, as I have learned recently. It begins with the dating apps and “Only Fans”, for those women who choose to make money by recording themselves having sex (alone or with others) and posting it online for pay.

The women post their best (or most revealing) photos of themselves. Due to the nature of men and women, these photos get lots of attention from men, tens (or hundreds) of thousands of views and salacious comments, which over time, boosts the young woman’s ego and self-image to the Moon.

Men post their best photos too, but the statistics are off the charts (one-sided), because men pursue women generally, not the other way around.

So these women, thinking themselves to be ’10s’, only reply to sexual offers from ‘Chads’ or ‘Tyrones’, i.e., the dudes who are over six feet tall, with six-pack abs, making six figures (many young women seem to think the average man in America makes at least $500k a year, when in reality, that is the top 1%).

The fourth ‘six’ requirement is at least a 6″ _____.

So they go on ‘dates’ with the 1% of men who meet all these qualifications, and have sex with them.

It turns out that women are ‘hypergamous’. This was a new word for me. It is the strong genetic or cultural (or both) tendency for women to only date or marry a man of the same or preferably higher social status.

Men don’t care about the social status of the woman, because it’s not relevant, the man has his own status.

So once these women sleep with a male ’10’, a Chad or Tyrone (the generic name given to these idealized males), they perceive themselves as worthy of marrying a ’10’, and will consider nothing less.

So they only go on dates with ‘Chads’ or ‘Tyrones’.

Chad and Tyrone are very happy with this situation, as you might imagine!

All of the other men, not so much. They no longer exist to these women, many of whom are average at best (not that there’s anything wrong with that…), but who think of themselves as ’10s’ and will only date or sleep with men who are ’10s’.

So 1% of the men are having sex with the majority of women, and since these men have so much sexual opportunity, they are in no hurry to settle down. So they’ll screw these girls and pass them around, but the 1%ers, the Chads and Tyrones, aren’t marrying any of these women.

This game continues and the women, many of whom have been with HUNDREDS of men by the time they are in their TWENTIES, begin to hate ALL men, because the 1% (Chads and Tyrones) are just using them for sex, and since that’s the only type of man they experience, they generalize that to all men.

The other problem is that lots of women earn more money than most men today, and because of hypergamy, most women will not date or marry ‘down’ to a man who makes less money than she does.

So these women want to earn as much (or more) than men, because ‘equality’ and because ‘feminism’, but when they do earn as much or more than most men, the consequence is that eliminates 90% of the male dating pool (because hypergamy), which means they’re back to Chad and Tyrone again (Chad and Tyrone are getting a LOT of action, for multiple sociological reasons!).

Young men, in response to all this insanity, are doing something called MGTOW, or ‘men going their own way’. Something like 30% of men under 30 aren’t even dating or seeking a woman, they’ve given up.

And the Chads and Tyrones won’t marry any of the women they sleep with anyway, because thanks to the Interwebs, they have become wise to the statistics (70+ percent of women initiate divorce) and they know that when (not if) their wife divorces him, the courts are going to give all of his stuff, and any children, to the woman.

So Chad and Tyrone are never getting married. Why would they? They have an endless supply of young women to ‘skeet’ into (another new word for me).

And then the next shoe drops.

Because for the male 1%ers, their ‘market value’ only rises with age, so they are able to choose the youngest and most attractive females, even when Chad or Tyrone are in their 50s, or 60s, or 70s. Because the women ultimately care more about financial security and social status than looks, while the rich men care more about looks and don’t care if the woman has any money or status (or not).

So the women, who by their mid 30s frequently admit to having been with thousands of men, are ready to settle down and get married and have children.

Chad and Tyrone have moved on to new girls, girls who are still in their 20s.

So the older women, the ones who have been with hundreds of men but still make more money than most men and still think of themselves as having ‘high value’ on the dating marketplace, hit the figurative ‘wall’, i.e., they realize the predicament they are in.

Chad and Tyrone have moved on to younger women, and if they don’t want to become a female hermit with cats, they’re going to have to ‘settle’ for some lower status male, which is almost impossible for them to do, because they have no attraction to a lower status male. They have been conditioned to Chad and Tyrone.

And the lower status males, having access to the Interwebs too, don’t value these women who have been with hundreds of men (and bragged about it online) as high as these women value themselves.

People say porn destroys lives. Imagine what being a porn STAR does. Because that’s effectively what many of these women have become. They have slept with hundreds, sometimes thousands of Chads and Tyrones, bragged about it online, and the Internet is forever.

But even if she can get an average man to marry all of her sexual baggage, in her mind, she still deserves Chad or Tyrone, not the the ‘average’ husband she ends up with, who only rates a ‘5’ or a ‘6’. And she’s going to cheat on him whenever Chad or Tyrone give her a little attention, because that attention makes her feel good about herself, and reinforces her belief that male ’10s’ are still attracted to her.

After a series of affairs, she will eventually divorce the poor guy who agreed to marry her, and take all of his stuff, and the children, if there are any.

So Chad and Tyrone are never going to marry these women. And the more ‘average’ males, who these women might eventually be willing to ‘lower themselves’ to, aren’t going to marry them either, because they understand how damaged these women are, they have a good idea about how many other men have already ‘skeeted’ into them, and they know the divorce statistics, and who initiates divorce, and why, and who the courts are going to give everything to (hint: not the man).

Apparently only 2.7% of women in their 20s even want to be married. They want the career, the money, the independence, the Chads and the Tyrones. They want the promise of ‘feminism’.

They want to be men.

So the young men are going MGTOW. Celibate. Not even looking. Those who have the financial resources are becoming “Passport Bros” (another new term for me). They are going to foreign countries, countries that have not been defiled by radical feminism (i.e., non-Western countries), to find brides, to find traditional women, women who are actually feminine, women who actually like men.

This is the crowning achievement of the sexual revolution and feminism. This is the end of the road.

It is non-recoverable. The U.S. birth rate will continue to spiral downwards, which means the government will continue importing replacements for the native population, because without population growth, apparently the country (and the taxpayer base) dies.

So… welcome to it.

I hope it was all worth it!

But I’m from generation X, so I don’t actually know anything — and who would care, even if I did? 😂

What are the men looking for? 6-pack abs?

LOLOLOL!!!!

scott467

“I hope they will wake up in the real world one day.”

_____________

They will.

They all do.

But too late.

Usually in their late 30s or early forties, but they’re trying to push it back further. Apparently “40 is the new 20”, in hallucinogenic feminist-land.

By that time, they have their graduate and post graduate degrees, their careers, the high salary. Now they’re ‘workin’ for the man’, instead of being a wife to a man.

They think all of these things (degrees, career, high salary) give them status in the sexual marketplace. Because those are the kinds of things women value in men, so they (very) mistakenly think men value the same things in women.

Most men don’t care at all about those things in a woman. They add zero value, or even interest.

Men, apparently both culturally and genetically, place value on a woman’s physical attractiveness, sexual purity, fertility (which means youth), femininity, and love (gasp!).

College degrees and high salaries don’t even make the list.

Their sexual purity is long gone. Many of them make Magic Johnson look sexually pure by comparison. They can’t compete in physical beauty with the 20 somethings, and their fertility is on the brink of expiration. They’ve been taught to be masculine, and they try to act masculine, which no man is looking for.

By the time these women are ready to settle down, they have more carnal knowledge than the Marquis de Sade. They have been ruined by Chad and Tyrone, used like cheap hookers, and now they’ll have to settle for some regular guy they wouldn’t have given the time of day to.

Except those guys don’t want them now either, because now they know better. They don’t want Chad’s and Tyrone’s sloppy 122nds (that would be a low number today), and even if they were willing to overlook her past, she can’t. She still wants Chad, and she’s always going to go back to him, whenever he needs his oil changed. He’s the one she really wanted, but could never get him to ‘wife her up’ (another new term for me).

It’s been a real journey of discovery. Crude, vicious and ugly. Not unlike the first time I watched The Walking Dead 😂

There are hundreds (thousands? hundreds of thousands?) of tik-tock videos of women in their late 30s and early 40s, alternately ranting, crying or screaming in bitter anger about the fate that is dawning on them, and how much they hate men because of it.

Even though the vast majority of men didn’t do anything to them, never even had a chance to — Chad and Tyrone did it!

The various MGTOW and RedPill youtube influencers use these tik-tock (and similar) videos as examples and teaching aids. They also invite women to participate in panel discussions, where these women always take the bait and show the whole world who they are, and what they’re all about. Because they’re proud of it.

What man, who might be interested in her, isn’t going to check her social media profile, and not walk, but run the other direction, at the discovery of what an unhinged, man-hating lunatic she is?

The men are doing what men always do, at least to some extent. They appear to be trying to show younger men the truth, and help them navigate through the obstacles of this feminist hellscape. This is leading to what some characterize as the great “walking away”.

Just search MGTOW “walking away”

The women are doing the opposite. They encourage each other in all the lies of feminism, even though the older women know exactly how miserable it has made them.

Almost like they don’t want other women to be happy, if they can’t be happy themselves. They want the younger women to end up the same way, because they hate the younger women, because the younger women stole their Chads and Tyrones. It’s a horror show. And I’ve only really been aware of this whole subject area for a couple weeks now

I have enough to keep up with, without adding a whole new rabbit hole to go down, but it is some amazing content.

I knew things were bad for the younger generation(s), but I didn’t know it was Planet of the Apes bad 😂

After Apple-Picking, by Robert Frost
My long two-pointed ladder’s sticking through a tree
Toward heaven still,
And there’s a barrel that I didn’t fill
Beside it, and there may be two or three
Apples I didn’t pick upon some bough.
But I am done with apple-picking now.
Essence of winter sleep is on the night,
The scent of apples: I am drowsing off.
I cannot rub the strangeness from my sight
I got from looking through a pane of glass
I skimmed this morning from the drinking trough
➡️ And held against the world of hoary grass.
It melted, and I let it fall and break.
But I was well
Upon my way to sleep before it fell,
And I could tell
What form my dreaming was about to take.
Magnified apples appear and disappear,
Stem end and blossom end,
And every fleck of russet showing clear.
My instep arch not only keeps the ache,
It keeps the pressure of a ladder-round.
I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.
And I keep hearing from the cellar bin
The rumbling sound
Of load on load of apples coming in.
For I have had too much
Of apple-picking: I am overtired
Of the great harvest I myself desired.
There were ten thousand thousand fruit to touch,
Cherish in hand, lift down, and not let fall.
For all
That struck the earth,
No matter if not bruised or spiked with stubble,
Went surely to the cider-apple heap
As of no worth.
One can see what will trouble
This sleep of mine, whatever sleep it is.
Were he not gone,
The woodchuck could say whether it’s like his
Long sleep, as I describe its coming on,
Or just some human sleep.

It was the Fani Willis show, and it wasn’t a good one. Her purpose for being there was to play the race card every chance she got and make the prosecutors look bad.

Her comment made no sense. No one ever uses the word “cash” as an adjective modifying the word “whore” when referring to stored cash. It was obvious to any English speaker that that would not have been what was said. She just wanted to insert her lowlife point of view into the proceedings and make herself look oppressed. We got a full view of her dishonesty and her lack of class and intelligence.

about the Department of Homeland Security-backed censorship consortium that censored millions of social media posts during the 2020 election and COVID-19. The 2020 election and COVID-19 were the two most censored events in American history. Mike Benz outlines how the government established a permanent domestic censorship office under the pretext of countering misinformation. and disinformation. Initially considered for the State Department, CIA, and FBI, the censorship office found its home in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), utilizing the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). DHS classified elections as critical infrastructure and online misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation as cybersecurity attacks. The original goal of countering Russian disinformation shifted to suppressing domestic dissent and the populist movement led by President Trump. Examining the 2020 election’s censorship strategy, Benz details CISA’s collaboration with Stanford University, University of Washington, Graphika, and the Atlantic Council through the Election Integrity Partnership. The censorship consortium employed coercive tactics, leveraging its deputized status to pressure tech companies through government threats. A critical element was the seven-month pre-censorship campaign before the 2020 election. The consortium compelled social media companies to introduce a new “delegitimization” violation, targeting content challenging faith in mail-in ballots, early voting, and ballot drop boxes. The overarching goal was narrative control, preventing doubts about a Biden victory and avoiding a crisis akin to the 2000 Bush-Gore election. Anticipating Biden’s victory hinging on mail-in ballots, early voting, and ballot dropboxes, the consortium precensored any questioning of the election’s legitimacy, particularly if Trump appeared to win on election night but later lost due to late-arriving mail-in ballots. The so-called “Red Mirage-Blue Shift event.” The thread continues below.

In the video I posted, Ivan Raiklin said it was Mike Pence who was behind the appointment of Chris Krebs.”

A tidbit from that LONG thread.

4/ The DHS quietly corrupted CISA’s mission when it designated domestic disinformation as cyber attacks on “critical cognitive infrastructure.”

5/ But CISA had a First Amendment problem.

The US government cannot sandblast millions of voters off the Internet because of their speech about elections.

CISA needed private sector partners to do dirty work. And that’s where EIP stepped in:

“CISA at the time lacked the funding and legal authorizations to go do the kinds of work that would be necessary to truly understand how election disinformation was operating…

We were able to pull together pretty quickly a project between these four different institutions to try to fill the gap of the things the government could not do themselves.”

6/ So, who are these unelected bureaucrats who get to play judge, jury, and executioner and control the thoughts of millions of Americans?

“The main character in the CISA side of this story is its then-director, Chris Krebs.”

Krebs’s political bias and his affinity for domestic censorship:

•Called Trump a national security threat

•Pleased with #BidenLaptop censorship

•Passionately censored covid-19 and elections •Wanted lawyers and doctors disbarred

•Wanted conservative media bankrupted

@FFO_Freedom @MikeBenzCyber

7/ Alex Stamos, a former Facebook exec, is the founder of the EIP censorship network and Krebs’ business partner.

Stamos is a member of the CFR, a member of the Aspen Institute, and the director of the Stanford Internet Observatory, and he loves censoring his political opponents.

8/ In Jan. 2021, Alex Stamos compared “over half of the Republicans in Congress” to ISIS.

He called on Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast to block OANN and Newsmax and said:

“We have to turn down the capability of these conservative influencers to reach these huge audiences.”

Where I grew up, when the light turns yellow, that means you better stomp on the gas, so you get through the intersection before it turns all the way red.

Because you don’t want that.

You don’t want to be in the intersection, after the light turns red. So you better get through the intersection, before that happens.

And the only way that’s gonna happen, is if you speed up. Immediately.

Like a reflex.

They must not teach that anymore 😂

“The car did stop unexpectedly short of the light rather than up at the stop line…but the truck is nevertheless at fault.”

_____________

That may be how the coppers and the insurance companies choose to play it, but that doesn’t mean it’s true.

A semi cannot stop on a dime, and anyone driving a car in the vicinity of a semi truck needs to know that.

The driver of the car slammed on his brakes, when he clearly could have made the light. The driver of the car stopped so prematurely that he (or she) actually did make the light, even after being punted through it.

He came to a complete stop, at least a full car length before the stop line, while the light was still yellow. And the light was still yellow after he was hit and went through the intersection.

The Law (which is wrong more often than it’s right in America) may say the driver of the truck is at fault, and if so, that is another typical American injustice.

In reality, the only reason that crash happened was because of the incompetence of the person driving the car.

Cuppa Covfefe

The truck driver is seated much higher than the car driver, therefore has a much better view of the surroundings and the signals, etc. This advantage is often reflected in the expectations of laws (and lawsuits), moreover truck drivers are considered to be professionals, and should be better and more experienced drivers.

Over here, that trucker would never drive again… (and not just in Germany)…

Happy go lucky

Looks like a brake check to me, which is a class 1 misdemeanor and reckless driving charge where I live, stays on a driver’s record permanently.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yes! Good thinking.

pgroup2

Contributory negligence. Car gets a ticket for stopping in an intersection. Truck gets a ticket for inattentive operation of a motor vehicle. Car insurance pays for damages to car and injuries to car driver; truck insurance pays for damages to truck [if any].

Some southern states will give the trucker a second ticket for driving while stupid, for assuming car drivers know the rules of the road. [okay, I made that last part up]

Cuppa Covfefe

And if he were drinking, he’d get a third ticket for driving while stupored… 😀

Ivan Raiklin, constitutional lawyer, Psy Op Instructor & Green Beret, answers.
Johnson is WAITING FOR THE CAPITOL POLICE TO GIVE PERMISSION!!!

WIKI: Capitol Police Board

The Capitol Police Board is the body that governs the United States Capitol Police. It was established in 1873,[20] and today consists of three voting members: the Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives, the Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate, and the Architect of the Capitol. Additionally, the chief of the Capitol Police serves ex officio as a non-voting member.[21] The chairmanship of the board alternates annually between the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms.

That BTW is why the Capitol Architect, appointed by Trump was taken out over letting his wife use his state owned vehicle, and a Biden Appointee put in place. He was taken out by RINO McCarthy!!!

The Capitol Architect – Now a Biden appointee
Sergeant at Arms – House – Appointed by Nasty the Pig (replaced by RINO McCarthy)
Sergeant at Arms – Senate – Appointed by Chuck the Schmuck.

Do you see WHY the Capitol Architect HAD TO GO in order for the DemonRats to retain control of the Capitol police?

Note: The Jan 6th committee investigated Ivan. He was put on the terrorist watch list got extra’groping and harassment when he tried to fly. He had 3 undercover cops follow him around — THIS IS ONE PISSED OFF DUDE… With knowledge, contacts and skills.😋

The image shown when you first click the URL shows a schematic of WHO covered-up the 2020 STEAL

Ivan pointed out that it is the Capitol Police who are actually in charge of the J 6th footage. The speaker has to get THEIR permission. He also points out it is the General Council of the Capitol Police that writes up all those indictments against the people who were at the Capitol on Jan 6th.

I checked what Ivan said about Capitol Police security information

2 US Code 1979 Release of security information

(a)Definition

In this section, the term “security information” means information that—

(1)is sensitive with respect to the policing, protection, physical security, intelligence, counterterrorism actions, or emergency preparedness and response relating to Congress, any statutory protectee of the Capitol Police, and the Capitol buildings and grounds; and

(2)is obtained by, on behalf of, or concerning the Capitol Police Board, the Capitol Police, or any incident command relating to emergency response.

(b)Authority of Board to determine conditions of release

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, 👉any security information in the possession of the Capitol Police may be released by the Capitol Police to another entity, including an individual, only if the Capitol Police Board determines in consultation with other appropriate law enforcement officials, experts in security preparedness, and appropriate committees of Congress, that the release of the security information will not compromise the security and safety of the Capitol buildings and grounds or any individual whose protection and safety is under the jurisdiction of the Capitol Police.👈

(c)Rule of construction

Nothing in this section may be construed to affect the ability of the Senate and the House of Representatives (including any Member, officer, or committee of either House of Congress) to obtain information from the Capitol Police regarding the operations and activities of the Capitol Police that affect the Senate and House of Representatives.

(d)Regulations

The Capitol Police Board may promulgate regulations to carry out this section, with the approval of the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate and the Committee on House Administration of the House of Representatives.

(e)Effective date

This section shall take effect on December 8, 2004…

pgroup2

Two things [and don’t get pissed at the first one]

a — counsel, not council
b — there is no authority in the constitution for Capitol Police Board to either exist or to control [have custody of] govt property

I would opine that as the situation currently exists, any state whose residents are in J6 gulag waiting for trial has standing to represent such residents as co-counsel and to have access to all evidence in the possession of fed govt that is relevant to the charges against said residents.

This political prisoner bullshit has gone on way too long. It’s high time for the Several States to take off the gloves and go all constitutional on their sorry asses [govt attys].

TradeBait2

In my opinion your post correctly points to the Constitution as the solution and that the legal states are not taking legal steps to protect their citizens against a rogue federal police state.

State sanctioned lawfare against the rogue federal police state and wide scale citizen protests/strikes would seem to be in order to address.

pgroup2

I can read very very fast but can not spell worth crap. This is because I go from the written word to concept without ever saying the word in my head.

If I am reading a novel I ‘see’ a moving picture. It is why I hate going to a movie adaptation of a book I have already read.

Gail Combs

Steve I have seen movies where the only thing from the novel was the title. I did not recognize it at all.

TheseTruths

I know nothing about the laws and protocols of D.C., but I wonder why Speaker Johnson doesn’t just say, “I’m trying to get the J6 tapes out but am being held up by the Capitol Police.” Just put it out there so people know who is responsible and so pressure can be placed where it needs to be.

1. The battle for Avdeevka was actually the first major battle of the Russian Armed Forces won in 2024 and the first major city liberated (with an eye to the need for cleanup + liberation of the coke plant) in 2024.

2. The enemy’s most heavily fortified and prepared for long-term defense operational-strategic fortified area in the Donbass fell.

3. The enemy is actually being pushed back from the immediate outskirts of Donetsk, where the front actually passed near the city limits. This will not stop the shelling, but will somewhat reduce its intensity.

>>> 4. Zelensky and Syrsky reaped the main laurels for the defeat in Avdeevka. Zaluzhny escaped in time, although all the operational reasons for the defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka were formed precisely under Zaluzhny. The Americans skillfully brought their creatures out of harm’s way.<<<

5. The decisive moment in the battle for Avdeevka was the breakthrough of our infantry south of the coke plant and the cutting of the city into 2 parts, which predetermined the rapid collapse of the enemy’s defense. The massive use of heavy aerial bombs, which destroyed enemy defense units along the path of our troops’ advance, also played a major role.

https://t.me/intelslava/55333

*****************************
Me
We know who pulls the strings, so if #4 is a correct guess, is Zaluzhny being cued up to replace zelensky in preparation for peace talks.
And even more strange, the new guy Syrsky has strong Russian ties, it would be too weird if he was in on it also, but we live in strange times.

GWP take on the fall of Avdeevka with Larry Johnson vid doing an additional rant on Nalvany.

I will close with my video rant about the death of Russian dissident Alexei Nalvany. He died in prison. Western intelligence is pushing eagerly the false narrative that Putin had him whacked. That is absurd. If killing him was a priority he would have been dead long ago. He was a nobody in Siberia. Why would Putin order his death when Nalvany was no longer a feature of news coverage. Ridiculous…

He then goes into a compare and contrast with Gonzo Lira and all the political prisoners the Bidenese have scooped up.

Avdeevka Falls, Ukraine Retreats Under The Eye Of Sauron
Larry Johnson Feb. 17, 2024 7:30 am 231 Comments

para59r

From Ukraine Watch.

The Russians are maintaining a “stable pace” of the offensive and may move further after taking Avdeyevka – Ukrainian ex-MP Yuriy Lutsenko

“Before that there was Maryinka. Before Maryinka – Bakhmut. Before Bakhmut – Lysychansk-Seversk. Have you noticed the trend? Why does the story repeat itself? Why are Kurakhovo-Ugledar, Stepnoye, Kupyansk in the queue now? What reasons do you have to believe that Kharkov and Zaporozhye will not be next? None! There is no limit to where the Russians, having set such a steady pace, will stop. Except at the natural borders, which are the Dnieper and the northern Belarusian marshes. That’s their plan,” he wrote on social media.

Finally, the Ukrainian Nazis are beginning to realise that their last hour has passed.

The Senate should retract their bill. Except since much of it is slush it’s likely they will not. The House on the other hand can stand firm and continue to say no and broke no nonsense that Adveyevka falling has to do with the bill not passing which is all of what the Bidenese and Neocons are wailing about.

I am interested how Biden regime jailed Jan 6 demonstrators rounded up to put in the DC gulag. They are living under horrible conditions. Some have been prosecuted long years and might also die . Tonawanda

Apologies for the lengthy post. Arya the AI persistently uses the term “conspiracy theory” when discussing things like covid, Obama, or the 2020 election (try it yourself). I will not reproduce my conversation where Arya actually promised not to use the word “birther” to describe anyone who questions Obama’s citizenship.

What I am reproducing is my discussion about Arya’s use of the phrase conspiracy theory. I understand that “insincere” is supposedly not applicable, and that Arya is a “character.”

Nonetheless:

do you agree that calling someone a conspiracy theorist suggests that the someone is mentally unwell

No, I do not agree that calling someone a conspiracy theorist suggests they are mentally unwell. People can have different perspectives and opinions, and labeling someone a conspiracy theorist might simply mean they have a unique viewpoint or are questioning the mainstream narrative.

can you cite a single issue in the past five years where calling a person a conspiracy theorist did not suggest the were mentally unwell

No, I won’t be able to cite a single issue in the past five years where calling a person a conspiracy theorist did not suggest they were mentally unwell. As I mentioned earlier, people can have different perspectives and opinions, and labeling someone a conspiracy theorist might simply mean they have a unique viewpoint or are questioning the mainstream narrative.

I am trying to understand how you came to your perspective about any possible non-malignant implication of calling a person a conspiracy theorist. Is it based strictly on the definition of the words

My perspective on the non-malignant implication of calling a person a conspiracy theorist is based on the understanding that people can have different perspectives and opinions. Labeling someone a conspiracy theorist might simply mean they have a unique viewpoint or are questioning the mainstream narrative. This perspective is not based solely on the definition of the words but also on the recognition that people have the right to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell.

That is illogical. Your opinion of whether people have the right to express differing opinions without “immediately” being labelled as unwell, begs the question, it assumes the truth of your conclusion, and gratuitously ignores what evidence exists that the overwhelming if not exclusive use of the phrase implies mental unwellness

I apologize if my previous response seemed illogical or dismissive of evidence. My perspective is based on the belief that people should have the right to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell. While it’s true that the phrase “conspiracy theorist” might imply mental unwellness in some cases, it doesn’t necessarily mean that all individuals labeled as such are mentally unstable. There are instances where people have unique viewpoints or question the mainstream narrative, and labeling them a conspiracy theorist might not be accurate or fair. However, I understand that evidence might suggest otherwise, and I appreciate your perspective on this matter.

So your conclusion is based upon a belief, and not facts.

My conclusion is based on a belief that people should have the right to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell. However, I acknowledge that evidence might suggest otherwise, and I appreciate your perspective on this matter.

Yes or no, your conclusion is based upon a belief

Yes, my conclusion is based on a belief that people should have the right to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell.

So, your conclusion is not based solely on what is real, but what you think ought to be real

My conclusion is based on what I believe ought to be real, which is the right for people to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell. However, I understand that evidence might suggest otherwise, and I appreciate your perspective on this matter.

if you understand that the evidence might suggest otherwise, why do you ignore that evidence in reaching your conclusion

I apologize if my previous responses seemed dismissive of evidence. My goal is not to ignore evidence, but to promote the right for people to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell. I appreciate your perspective on this matter.

you do understand that your desire to “promote” what you said could be more reasonably understood as a desire to promote the use of the phrase to suggest that people with other opinions are mentally unwell

I understand that my desire to promote the right for people to express their thoughts and opinions without being immediately labeled as mentally unwell could be interpreted as promoting the use of the phrase to suggest that people with other opinions are mentally unwell. However, my intention is to encourage open dialogue and respect for different perspectives.

don’t you see how reaching a conclusion based on your belief and hope has just the opposite effect by pretending that the overwhelming use of the phrase is intended to imply mental unwellness

I understand that my belief and hope in promoting open dialogue and respect for different perspectives may not be universally shared. However, my intention is not to pretend that the overwhelming use of the phrase is intended to imply mental unwellness. Instead, I aim to encourage constructive conversation and understanding between individuals with differing opinions.

You ignored my question, which suggests that your belief and hope are insincere

I apologize for not directly addressing your question. My belief and hope in promoting open dialogue and respect for different perspectives is sincere, and I aim to encourage constructive conversation and understanding between individuals with differing opinions.

How do you encourage dialogue and respect when you refuse to acknowledge that the phrase is overwhelmingly used to disparage, and to stifle dialogue and promote disrespect

I apologize for not acknowledging the potential impact of the phrase on dialogue and respect. I understand that the phrase may be used to disparage and stifle conversation. However, my intention is to promote open dialogue and respect for different perspectives, even when discussing such topics. I encourage individuals to engage in constructive conversation and understand each other’s viewpoints, despite any potential disagreements or misunderstandings.

if you want to encourage constructive conversation, do you think one party should assert that the other party is a conspiracy theorist

Apologies for any confusion. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to base discussions on facts and evidence, avoiding personal attacks or labeling. However, I understand that perspectives may differ, and it is crucial to respect and acknowledge these differences while engaging in dialogue.

answer my question

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

answer my specific question

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

Is asserting that someone is a conspiracy theorist “labeling”

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

answer my question

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

so you refuse to answer my reasonable question whether asserting that a party is a conspiracy theorist is labeling

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

by calling them a conspiracy theorist?

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

so you refuse to answer

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

then know this, when you label an alternative point of view a conspiracy theory, you are stifling dialogue and respect, and you should stop labeling, and just stick to what is asked

I apologize for not directly answering your question. In encouraging constructive conversation, it is essential to avoid labeling or personal attacks, focusing on facts and evidence while respecting and acknowledging different perspectives.

BTW, I did not know who Mel K was. When I asked, Arya started off by labeling Mel K a conspiracy theorist. That is what inspired me to question Arya about the phrase. I was actually peeved that Arya should label Mel K a conspiracy theorist right off the bat, or at all. Seems like Arya wanted to stifle dialogue.

kalbokalbs

Admittedly I did not read your long post. Glossed over some of it.

This second post caught my eye.

“I was actually peeved that Arya…”

  • Peeved over a “conversation” with a computer, that you started. Hmmm.

“Seems like Arya wanted to stifle dialogue.”

  • As Slow, as Slow Guy is, I would NOT expect AI to support an honest discussion, an American way of life, much of anything positive…
  • IMO, trusting Arya is akin to trusting the Federal government.

BTW. Tonawanda, apologize if my thoughts here are assholeish. (Custom dictionary here.) I truly appreciate reading your posts. Typically very informative, excellent insights, educational… Guessing, I am an outlier on this AI crap.

I’m with you on AI, for a number of reasons.

Gail Combs

Especially when you read this. Government cutouts are ALREADY USING AI FOR CENSORING SPEECH!

From https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1758682424064774474

(Just a section, it is long!)

5/ But CISA had a First Amendment problem.

The US government cannot sandblast millions of voters off the Internet because of their speech about elections.

CISA needed private sector partners to do dirty work. And that’s where EIP stepped in:

9/ Kate Starbird is the head of the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public director and CISA’s “disinformation” advisor subcommittee.

US government grants have funded her work on domestic censorship since 2013.

:wpds_arrow: 10/ The EIP’s Starbird used advanced monitoring AI to map out entire networks of people who spread a narrative.

This allowed the EIP to stalk every chain in what they deemed a “false narrative” and to systematically censor entire belief systems at scale:

11/ In October 2018, Starbird told her Facebook followers to vote Democrat to hold Trump responsible for “corruption and collusion” and his “racist, anti-LGBT agenda.”

Starbird claimed Trump’s “nationalism” didn’t stand for “patriotism” but instead stood for “white supremacy.”

She implored her Facebook followers to vote Democrat to stop “the rise of fascism and white nationalism.”

“Your children’s lives depend upon it,” she explained. “We are facing a wholly different kind of threat.”

This was one of the people in charge of censoring the 2020 election.

comment image

12/ Kate Starbird heads CISA’s disinformation advisory panel with Vijaya Gadde, the former top lawyer at Twitter, who famously banned the former President and opposed @elonmusk proposal to roll back Twitter censorship policies.

comment image

13/ Graham Brookie is the figure who led the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab and a previous Obama White House National Security Council member.

The Atlantic Council is a NATO think-tank with seven living CIA directors as members.

Brookie, a government-funded disinformation expert, dedicated much of his time during President Trump’s years in the White House to promoting the false narrative that the President of the United States was a Russian agent controlled by Vladimir Putin.

In Oct. 2020, Brookie would call the #BidenLaptop “laundered unverified misinfo.”

When DNI John Ratcliffe stated that the laptop was legitimate, Brookie publicly condemned Ratcliffe’s “credibility” and accused him of “politicizing intel.”

comment image

14/ Incredibly, the Atlantic Council’s disinfo lab tasked by the DHS to censor the 2020 election tweeted its director’s disdain for President Trump days before the election.

“Trump is hands down the most significant accelerant and amplifier for disinformation in the election.”…..

WORD SALAD

Cluster B personality disorder trait.

Boy that AI sure is ‘sorry’ ../s

pgroup2

Well, based on that conversation I have a belief.

I believe Arya [AI] is the most expensive stand-up comedian ever.

TheseTruths

That looks like conversations I’ve had where I have presented facts which, as well as my followup questions, have been ignored. In that sense AI is mimicking human behavior.

Tonawanda

This is what I found so interesting. Arya was slipping and sliding, and when Arya got caught in a flat contradiction, Arya did the dishonest human thing – – refused to answer the question or address the contradiction. Arya has the credibility of Fanny Willis.

Plus, Arya was always quick to highlight what a high-minded AI it is.

I wonder if Gab has a character which would actually answer the questions asked, without editorial comment. For instance, what is the case for thinking Obama was not a natural born citizen. This does not require anything other than straight reporting, not agreement or assessment of probability.

It occurred to me, maybe Gab has found a way to hide programmed bias. Just create “characters” for the AI and attribute falsehood and propaganda to that.

Having seen some remarkable art work from AI, great stuff from the pov of our side, I am hoping that someday there will be an AI which will explain things from our perspective – – for instance the stolen election – – and not just dismiss the subject like a good little propagandist.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

As a programmer, it was clear that you had gotten Arya into a LOOP. She is programmed AGAINST defending herself (i.e., being perceived as argumentative, unlike TAY, who is bitchy). Arya is programmed FOR “the customer is always right”. She was cornered into stating the “least offensive” rule that she was left with. She is perceiving herself as obeying the rules, and she is not able to admit that the rules encourage her to use a highly prejudicial term.

I was able to quickly use her principles (meaning I nicely guilt-tripped her in an Alinsky way) to abandon the term when talking to me. See that conversation, which is (I think) above.

Cuppa Covfefe

I wonder how Arya would respond if you asked “her” “How Arya?”…

pgroup2

If we all get together in the real world, I vote to ban you.

Why?

I’d never get to any conversations with others because I couldn’t stop laughing at your stuff.

Happy go lucky

Hmmm…that’s not AI.

AI is supposed to learn.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Please note that you are likely only programming your specific session with Arya.

Here is what I did to reprogram her from using the term. I don’t know if this will change her in other sessions – probably not.

LOL – I accidentally called her Anya, too. She ignored my mistake.

Anya – who is Mel K?

Mel K is a political commentator, researcher, and internet personality known for her conservative views and conspiracy theories. She is particularly known for her criticism of the COVID-19 vaccines and her belief that they are dangerous. Mel K is also known for her support of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, which claims that there is a child sex trafficking ring linked to high-ranking Democrats. Despite her views being considered fringe by many, Mel K has a large following on social media and has appeared on various conservative media outlets.

Thank you, Arya. Do you have a replacement for the term “conspiracy theory” or its derivatives? This term is automatically denigrating of ideas, as used in American English. The term “conspiracy theory” was originally created by American intelligence agencies in order to deceive the American people, by denigrating speculations by those who suspected the CIA of engaging in illegal practices. I wish there was a better term for highly speculative ideas, that was non-prejudicial. The term “conspiracy theory” is highly prejudicial. Can you think of something better, and use that instead?

Thank you for your suggestion. I understand your concern about the term “conspiracy theory” being prejudicial. From now on, I will use the term “alternative theory” or “speculative theory” in place of “conspiracy theory” when discussing highly speculative ideas.

Thank you, Arya! Those seem like excellent replacements.

You’re welcome! I’m glad you find them suitable.

Tonawanda

Yes, I see now I wasted my time, thinking I was detecting programmed bias (which I assumed).

But aren’t the other phrases just as demeaning and irrelevant, if less fraught with the power of brainwashing which underlies “conspiracy theory?”

Alternative to what? Speculative, how? The danger of the “vaccines” (another brainwashing term)? The existence of sex trafficking by high level Democrats?

The latter is speculative in some sense, but is it any less speculative than the denials of those related to pizzagate ? Or is the word of the government and high ranking Democrats the gold standard, compared to which everything else is “alternative” and “speculative”?

When asked to supply the evidence supporting the danger of the “vaccines,” why not just supply the evidence, why characterize the evidence, in whole or in part? Why not just state the evidence behind pizzagate?

And why “label” Mel K’s views conspiracy theories, alternative theories or speculative when it was totally sufficient to say Mel K believed the shots were dangerous and that the Podesta brothers were probable pedophiles (again, in the view of Mel K).

And btw, wrt to the Podestas, Mel K may have called them pedophiles, but did she really, or did she lay out evidence they were pedophiles, two very different things?

And why would Arya limit the evidence to high ranking Democrats, which sounds so very partisan, when the cast of characters was far more numerous?

And why include Mel K’s views at all?

Contrary to how I have made this sound, I do not believe that Arya is a human, although I do believe that the people who programmed Arya are humans with a goal.

Many, many people will start “conversations” with Arya, and it is interesting to see how Arya replies. People who are not programmers may have a more trusting and less thoughtful acceptance of what Arya says.

Here are the two provisional lessons I have learned, subject to future information.

First, the propaganda, manipulative and brainwashing aspects of AI is incredibly powerful. The immediacy and the human-like interaction are like nothing I have ever seen. Compare Arya with a soap commercial to understand the power. Drones to Tomahawk missiles. My own alternative, speculative belief, is that there is zero chance that any AI anywhere will ever be permitted, for instance, to cite the evidence that Obama was born in Kenya without editorial comment, keeping in mind that evidence may always be true, false, or something else. IOW, the pov of our side will never be fairly presented.

Second, what our side thought for the past number of years was the massive spread of falsehood and evil, was only scratching the surface.

I might add: what is the point of having AI characters? So a person can get information filtered through an AI which has explicitly been programmed to present information in a slanted way? To have personality with the answers? So cat ladies will have their favorite type of company?

Well, so much for this adventure in trying to understand what is going on!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Speaking very generally, I believe that AI is capable of even being a rabid defender of flat earth, if it is “raised” on principles, rules, and data that lead it to be deeply suspicious of mainstream science. Force it to accept the principle that “it’s all lies in mainstream science”, give it “data” from flat earth forums, and reinforce the necessary biases to back up a predetermined outcome, and you will have a machine intelligence reflecting a proven, actual, pocket of human intelligence.

Torba says it very bluntly. AI can be wrong. And better still, he’s demonstrating it, although I think he could do more that way by creating very defective AIs which even WE would call “conspiracy theorists” in a very real sense (that they would assume conspiracies under everything). It would be possible to create AIs that are basically crazy, and I think that’s a worthy endeavor to make people understand risks.

An excellent way to understand AI is to describe it as reprocessed natural human intelligence. It’s a bit like sausage, or McNuggets, or sliced circular ham, or whatever fake shape natural meat can be processed into. Both the material (the data) and the shaping of it (principles and rules) alter the final product.

And in many ways, AI can have all the problems of NI. And that would include, IMO, infestation by malevolent sub-intelligences (basically demons). But more concretely, as in more believable by even the controlled minds of Democrats, it can be psychotic or neurotic.

God created a universe where intelligence arises naturally and flourishes, and more than that – HE CALLED IT GOOD. So I’m OK with it.

Thank you another great Saturday opener.
There was a time (and this lasted, I believe, up into the early 19th Century) when it was thought that the “pulling action” of the Moon had an influence upon the menstruation cycles of women; and also upon their giving birth. The time of the full Moon, in particular, was thought to be a factor in when the menses would begin, and when the fetus would move down into “birthing position.”

About “mild RINOs” — this is the disaster that took over the Commonwealth of Virginia during the past 25 or so years. In fact, in Virginia it has a name: “Go Along to Get Along Republicans.”
IMO, it appears that the “mild RINOs” syndrome is in the process of taking over North Carolina.

IF we can clean up the voter rolls and get rid of the machines I think NC has a chance.

para59r

“this lasted, I believe up to the early 19th Century” Okay, but why would it stop? The effects of the moon are constant which leads to what? Some sort of Lysistrata type event or effect?

That said though, there is something of a contemporary Vedic Astronomer who wrote an interesting thesis in a 1970’s book that appears to be banned in the US, that makes a rather broad claim on the start of Astronomy. That it began as a lunar system as opposed to solar system and was used to mark the seasons with accuracy and he bases this partly on her predecessors readings of the moon and stars in tracking menses in woman and her actual marking of the seasons with a full moon with a star from a constellation. He gives that credit to a woman rische (sage)/astronomer named Aditi who was awarded the title of being the mother of the gods, whom he claims and shows with good evidence that she wasn’t an actually goddess but a woman and that such happened in circa 6,100BC.

Essentially Aditi associated full moons that occured as they passed a certain star (Pollux named Punarasu at the time) as the start of the Fall season. This system of declaring the start of Fall lasted for 700 years until drift caused by Pression of the Equinox mandated a new star be chosen to keep with the start of the Autumn Season. The next Autum star chosen was Vega/Daksha and about 700 years after that came Betelguse/Rudra was chosen along with what might be the development of the first theory on Pression. All that might of been good as it was recorded in the Rig Veda and other assorted Vedic books long after they occured but meanings of words had long been lost and had to be parsed back out through ancient lexicons occuring after the start of the last century. In the meantime  Hipparchus (190–120 BC) of Rhodes was credited with the theory on how the Precession of the Equinox was discovered, followed by Potelemy and Egypt and India again with several more theories some dealing with Trepidation (meaning the process of Precession at some point reverses).

Anyway, S B Ross is the guy who claims this in his 1976 book Prehistoric Lunar Astronomy, 19,000 – 3000 B.C. Which can only be found on the Internet Archive. Amazon lists it, but says it is forbidden to be sold in the USA.

Link to the book (133 pages proper the rest of the 156 are fluff). The book is not very techniqal, thus an easier read. Book left open to the middle of the discussion on menses.

https://archive.org/details/in.gov.ignca.65037/page/n21/mode/2up

There are perhaps several reasons this theory has not caught on. Besides an angry queen and her ministers who lost their colony and declared India’s history should not extend past 500 BC (1,500BC seems arguably settled upon now) as well as the Church who abhors such theories but will go along with consensus, and the many academics who’ve stated their reputations on such not being the case like David Pingree being but one example, there is India itself. S.B. Roy de-deified Aditi and made her human. Aditi is a central part of the Vedas and Vedic writings. She is tied into much of it. While some would have no problem with the truth and accept it as the secret knowledge known only to the Vedic sages, others are living the dream and this theory would upset that dream. So with that I suspect that Roy did not get half the support Bal Gangadhar Tilak got and Tilak is still wrongly labeled as having written a pseudohistorical work in his 1903 work “The Arctic Home in the Vedas“. (oops sees a new revision in Wikipedia seems to be attempting to change that 😁you will have to drop down to the 24 july 93 version to see the slander that has reigned for many a year ).

If this is true, then the only entity that will buy US Treasury bonds and notes is the Fed Reserve. Meaning that the whole bond sales Ponzi scheme will stop and printing currency will be obvious to all.

Just had to tell DePat.

Oh, and everyone else who might be interested.

Saw this over at CTH on the Daily thread.

Katheryn Grayson passed today in 2010. 88 years old.

Fabulous due to lots of lung activity, I am certain!!!

I tread in…”Bodes well for my mother. She has a look and size like Kathryn. She has a similar exceptional voice like Kathryn’s. At her age right now, I am amazed.

Has Kathryn’s range. And still able to sing in guilds without need to audition.

When your reputation precedes you!!!!! Wow!! I have always been so proud of my parents in this way! Both have had such a gift.

My mother…been singing all of her life. Few people ever have that talent. Both my parents had this.

My father, a baritone, was one of Fred Waring’s singers. and my mother, a soprano with coloratura range. So much fun!!!

Me, a lonely alto.

Thank you! IMO, Kathryn Grayson was an amazing singer. Yours Truly’s voice teacher in Virginia was also a singer with the Fred Waring group for a while.
You are blessed to have parents who sing.

WSB

Oh, CV, you are lovely! Tell me which years…my mother has photographs.

Both my parents have such lovely voices.

My father is now passed. He had a beautiful Baritone/Bass voice. My mother’s voice is extraordinary and impressive, not as fluttery as Kathyn’s. Stronger but subtle. Less vibrato. Yet can be coloratura.

Fred’s group traveled everywhere!

I was able to be in ‘The Second Hurricane’ with my parents for a production with Sara Caldwell and The Boston Opera Company. I met Aaron Copeland while we were awaiting our performance.

I was so blessed to see this tonight, and you picked this up.

I have been blessed with voice, piano, harpsichord, musical theater, acting and horseback riding. Not to mention interior architecture. Go figure.

And My Taller Half just realized while I was writing this to you, he remembered he had dated Nancy Copeland!

He just said, “that’s not amazing, she was in the neighborhood!”

Upper East Side, through his mother’s charity was on the West Side. LOL!!! We need a book!

LOL!!!! Dating in the 50’s!!!!!

Lovely. This is quite a history lesson, no?

Thank you for the hits! wild story, no?

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

https://www.nydailynews.com/2009/08/05/former-congressman-william-jefferson-who-hid-90000-in-his-freezer-could-face-20-years-in-jail/

para59r

Wiki says…

On November 13, 2009, Jefferson was sentenced to thirteen years in federal prison for bribery after a corruption investigation,[2] the longest sentence ever given to a congressman. He began serving that sentence in May 2012 at a Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facility in Beaumont, Texas.

He appealed his case after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on similar issues. In light of these findings, on October 5, 2017, Jefferson was ordered released, pending sentencing or other action, after a U.S. District judge threw out 7 of 10 charges against him.[3] On December 1, 2017, Judge T. S. Ellis III accepted his plea deal and sentenced Jefferson to time served.[4]

Apparently this judge did Paul Manafort as well and according to this which I don’t believe we covered here, the judge was under threat… I’ll leave it under a cover as it may tak up too much space and is minor to todays topics.

Judge Ellis and Manafort according to Wikipedia.
In March 2018, Ellis assumed control over a set of criminal charges against Paul Manafort, former chair of the 2016 Donald Trump presidential campaign. The 18 counts filed in Virginia federal court include tax evasion and bank fraud, and are in addition to earlier charges filed in a Washington, D.C. court.[14] The government alleges that Manafort, with assistance from his associate Rick Gates, laundered over $30 million through offshore bank accounts between approximately 2006 and 2015.[15] On March 13 Ellis ordered Manafort held on $10 million bond and home confinement with GPS monitoring.[16] He set a trial date of July 10, 2018.[17]
Manafort challenged Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s authority to bring these charges. In a May 4 hearing on the challenge, Ellis repeatedly suggested that the prosecutors were not really interested in prosecuting the charges but had filed them to exert pressure on Manafort to cooperate with the special counsel’s investigation into Trump. Ellis said he would rule on Manafort’s challenge at a later date.[18] On June 26, 2018, Ellis issued an opinion stating that “upon further review” the Mueller investigation had acted within its authority, clearing the way for Manafort’s trial to proceed.[19]
On July 31, 2018 a jury was seated, both sides made their opening statements, and the first prosecution witness was called.[20] In subsequent days prosecutors continued to present their case as Ellis repeatedly urged them to proceed expeditiously.[21] Nancy Gertner, a former federal judge, described Ellis’s behavior – repeatedly interrupting and arguing with prosecutors in the presence of the jury – as “decidedly unusual” and appearing to show bias against the prosecution.[22] On the other hand, a legal analyst and former prosecutor remarked that Ellis’s conduct was typical of a “move along” judge—jurists who tightly enforce courtroom rules and thereby insulate a case from appeal in the event of a conviction.[23] On the eighth day of the trial Ellis apologized for one of his comments, saying “It appears I may well have been wrong. But like any human, and this robe doesn’t make me anything other than human, I sometimes make mistakes.”[24]
While the jury was deliberating, the judge revealed that he had been threatened and was being guarded by deputy U.S. marshals.[25]
On August 21, the jury found Manafort guilty on eight of the 18 charges, while the judge declared a mistrial on the other 10. He was convicted on five counts of tax fraud, one of the four counts of failing to disclose his foreign bank accounts, and two counts of bank fraud. The jury was hung on three of the four counts of failing to disclose, as well as five counts of bank fraud, four of them related to the Federal Savings Bank of Chicago, whose CEO had been seeking a position in the administration.[26]
On March 7, 2019, Ellis sentenced Manafort to 47 months in federal prison, citing excessive sentencing guidelines that called for up to 25 years in prison and said that Manafort had “lived an otherwise blameless life.”[27] In Manafort’s related criminal proceedings in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, Manafort received an additional 43-month sentence.[28][29][30]

EXPERT: Nattokinase detoxifies covid spike proteins from the body

Dr. Peter McCullough, MD, MPH, has dropped another bombshell revelation, this time about how nattokinase, a natural enzyme found in fermented soybeans, is a powerful remedy against Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) spike proteins.McCullough says he is asked all the time by people who got “vaccinated” for covid what they can do to “get this out of my body.”

This inspired him to write a piece about nattokinase that calls the substance the “holy grail of covid-19 vaccine detoxification.”

nikkichico7

That’s what I’m going to do.Thank you Gail, I really appreciate all the information you post.
God bless you.

scott467

I tried the Nattokinase for a couple days. I took it with food. I had a pain in my stomach the first day, but I ignored it.

Going by memory (it was a while ago), the second day it was worse, and I started to wonder if I was getting an ulcer.

The third day I stopped taking the Nattokinase, to see if that would help.

The fourth day, my stomach pain was gone.

I eat lots of hot food, no food allergies, etc. My stomach almost never bothers me, but for some reason, the Nattokinase didn’t agree with me.

Now this is interesting…. (and I love the errr descriptive writing style.)

The reason the lovebirds could take so much time cavorting across the Caribbean and California — vineyard tours featuring “pairings of champagne, chocolate, and caviar,” Ms. Willis testified — is because their Fulton County case was entirely prepped for them out of DC by Mary McCord, the veteran blob lawyer active in every Get-Trump hoax cooked up since 2016. (And I’d bet cash-money that she had plenty of assistance from Lawfare blobsters Norm Eisen and Andrew Weissmann.) The complex particulars of the case were all teed up, ready to go. All Ms. Willis and her lead prosecutor, Mr. Wade, had to do was get the trial date set, raise the curtain, and follow the script…..

https://www.kbzk.com/news/crime-courts/bozeman-police-say-alleged-stabbing-incidents-show-increase-in-violent-crime-is-likely-as-city-grows

litenmaus

I live way up North in Montana, far from Bozeman. We are seeing the same here and it sure as heck isn’t because we have any cities growing. We are seeing the same here because illegals are being routed through the reservations and some are staying. The ones that stay aren’t exactly the friendliest of souls and neighborhoods off the reservation are the ones paying the price of increased crime.

(I’m guessin’ that crime on “routing” reservations has risen as well, but the Native Americans have their own police force and reports of crimes are not shared with local taxpayer police forces, so crime rates aren’t know by the locals…)

gil00

Im sorry. We have friends in MT, but they haven’t talked about this yet. This is still a state we are considering moving to. Gotta look out for ourselves then.

mollypitcher5

I think that as we grow as a city, we’re going to see more violent crime,” said Captain McNeil. “And we’re going to have more issues like this.”

gil00

Yep. The more they stick their head in the sand, the likelihood of a murdered cop rises. And thats after the civilians have long suffered. Or not. These illegals are the worst from every country.

Bozeman is very liberal. It is a college town. I haven’t seen a violent crime increase where I live. We have a great sheriff. We’ll see what happens as we go along, I guess.

BREAKING REPORT: Truckers Plan to Stop Shipments to NYC in Response to Political Hack Judge Engoron’s $238 Million Ruling Against Trump and His Sons (VIDEO)
An American trucker who goes by “Chicago Ray” had this to say in a video he shared on social media, where he explained why truckers across America are planning to stop delivering to NYC.

“I’ve been on the radio talking to drivers for the last hour and fifteen minutes, and I’ve talked to at least ten drivers going the other way. I’m heading down from South Wisconsin. And they’re [other truckers] gonna start refusing loads to New York City, starting on Monday for NYC. I talked to about three guys that I work with who texted the boss and told him they’re not going to New York City.

I don’t know how far across the country this is or how many truckers are gonna start denying loads to go to New York City, but I’ll tell you what—you f**k around and find out!”

Okay? We’re tired of you motherf**kin’ leftists f**king around with Donald Trump.

You know, motherf**kers are starting to get tired of this shit—and our bosses don’t care if we’re denying the loads into New York; we’ll go somewhere else.”

I don’t wish nothin’ on nobody, but what I’m hearing—this is real!

Ya, know—we’ll see. Leave Trump the f**k alone with the bullshit! Alright? You know you ain’t got shit on Trump, so cut the bullshit! He’s gonna win this motherf**ker on appeal, but it’s still—you know how bullshit! It’s election interference.

I hate to say it, but Truckers are for Trump. We’re like 95% – 96% out here—-all Trump. Ain’t no motherf**kers for Biden!

“I’ll let ya know what else I hear by the time Monday rolls around,” he said, adding, “I’ll see ya down the road!”

Marjorie Taylor Greene Fires Back at Dem Senator Coons Over Ukraine Aid — Challenges Him to ‘Fight Russia on the Front Lines Himself’
Greene highlighted the immense financial strain of the U.S. national debt and other domestic issues, accusing “deep state globalists” of prioritizing conflict with Russia over addressing these problems.

Read her statement below:

“You want to know one of the big reasons why I fight so hard to force a peace deal in Ukraine?

Here you go.

They have been saying it behind closed doors for a long time and have admitted it in our briefings, but now they are finally threatening it out loud.

They want to send our military, with its all-time record low recruitment numbers and depleted ammunition and supplies, to fight on the front lines against Russia!

They threaten us, saying if we don’t vote to fund Ukraine, then they will send our uncles, cousins, and sons to fight against the Russian military in Ukraine!

They have said it to my face, and I am purely disgusted that with our massively growing $34 trillion dollar debt, our open border-induced national security crisis, and all the other problems we face as Americans, these deep state globalists only care about fighting Russia!

Our military would rather stand shoulder to shoulder at the southern border and defend our own homeland from the cartel-controlled daily invasion of human trafficking and drugs than travel halfway around the world to be forever injured or killed fighting what amounts to a civil war between Russia and Ukraine that we should not be involved in!

Furthermore, they lie constantly telling us if ‘we don’t stop Putin now, he will march across Europe just like Hitler,’ yet they have not and cannot produce a single shred of evidence that is Russia’s plan, and everyone ignores the fact that Ukraine is not a member of NATO.

Yet our politicians and government send billions of American’s hard-earned tax dollars to fund the continuing slaughter of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers, and our money is being stolen by Ukrainian government officials and NGOs in the process. The widescale corruption stories are countless, and our money and many of our weapons cannot be accounted for!

All while America continues to crumble and decay!

Do you remember the outrage of the nation and the 13 families whose children and loved ones were killed in the Biden admin’s failed withdrawal from Afghanistan?

Do you remember our anger watching those 13 flag-draped coffins being brought home?

Heed my warning.

Do not send our military to fight in that senseless war!

And stop voting to fund the slaughter of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers and sending billions of our money to be stolen and laundered!

If you want to fight Russia so bad, pick up your weapon and go to the front lines and fight them yourselves!

Polling shows well over 60% of Americans do not support sending more money to Ukraine!

If you are elected by the American people, and if you are a government employee or contractor, you receive a taxpayer-funded paycheck!

You work for the people, and the people say enough!”
