It’s unusual to see big pelagics at Lover’s, because the water there is generally shallow. It is more common to see big stuff at Point Lobos and the adjacent Monastery Beach. At Monastery, you can throw a baseball out to a wash rock in the water, which is on the edge of a submarine canyon a couple of thousand feet deep.
I communicated with a guy who had been hit by a Great White at Point Lobos. He was swimming along and he saw the shadow of the shark pass by him on one side, and was thinking “oh, wow — how lucky I am to see this magnificent beast.” Then he saw it pass him the other way on the other side. Then the shark hit him from underneath.
Fortunately, he was testing his home-built rebreather setup and the shark’s teeth basically hit that backpack and the control panel on his chest, which is how he was around to relay his tale to me.
That’s just terrifying.

LAGOS, NIGERIA — In yet another case of fraud perpetrated by Somalis, a Nigerian prince fell prey to an online scam perpetrated by a Somali immigrant.
Prince Adetokunbo Ademola of Nigeria was the victim of an email scam where he was asked to provide his bank info in order to purportedly assist a wealthy Somali man in transferring his riches out of Somalia.
“The message just sounded so genuine,” sighed Prince Ademola. “It seemed like he was the rightful heir of this tremendous wealth, but he couldn’t get the money out of Somalia. All he needed was a friend with an outside bank account. Now, my royal bank account has been completely drained. I feel so stupid!”
Police were able to track down the perpetrators and located the $17 million that was stolen. “The Somali immigrant who wrote the email, he can’t even spell or use proper grammar. I can’t believe anyone falls for these,” said Officer Michael Stanton.
“Though, having read emails from Nigerian princes before, I guess maybe it makes sense why it worked on him.”
At publishing time, the Nigerian prince had sent several emails to people in America asking if anyone had a bank account that he could use to receive the stolen money, believing the security to be better in America. Sadly, no one replied to his emails.

The video about power laws is interesting. I doubt that I fully understand it, but it looks as if the wealthiest people are engaged in activities and professions that are characterized by the power law principle, whereas many businesses, like running a restaurant, would not be, and therefore would not have the potential for huge, out-of-the-norm income. It seems to explain both how things work and also how to evaluate whatever endeavors one wants to pursue.
Yes, it’s not simple, but it explains a lot. One way to look at it is the difference between things that are bounded by being “around” something (and thus having a norm) and things that scale up or down. The latter explains why millionaires, billionaires, and eventually trillionaires arise – because as there is more “stuff”, there will be people who own larger and larger chunks of it.

OK – as most know SBA was my jam and I still have a few contacts.
Time to open a can of worms for everybody to see. Below is just ONE example. Multiply this example by dozens who participate in just this one example of governent fraud and corruption.
What mega bank is located in Minneapolis? US Bank.
What bank made $871 million in SBA 7(a) loans in fiscal 2025 – 23% increase over 2024? US Bank
What bank has been top ten and usually top 5 in SBA 7(a) lending for decades – 4th in 2025? US Bank.
What major SBA lending bank focused on smaller business loans in that segment. For example 3453 loans divided into $871 M = $252 K per loan? US Bank
What size loans and from what type lenders have been least audited by SBA pre-Trump Admin? Smaller loans from “Preferred Lender Program” (PLP) large banks due to the large annual loan volumes that politicians can point toward as helping their state’s citizens and businesses? These PLP lenders (of which my former operation was a national PLP designated lender) have demonstrated necessary experience and track records to be trusted to make many loan and servicing decisions without concurrence from SBA itself. Such is the situation with US Bank SBA lending.
They can start auditing there. Maybe US Bank is clean as a whistle. Maybe not. Find out.
I already posted about how the Brandon admin had tried to increase the number of smaller loan size (micro) program lenders and non-bank lender licenses for micro loans that got stalled in Congress in January 2025 and shut down immediately after PDT took office.
What does any SBA lending operation open itself to via lax enforcement of policies and overzealous promotion of making loans to just anybody? I posted on here of a former co-worker subordinate who is running his own SBA lending operation for a bank who stated that the Brandon admin was telling lenders to lighten up on the vetting of any SBA loan under $1 million, which he refused to do. He was considering taking early retirement because he did not want to participate in the madness and be subject to a reckoning one day.
I guess folks will one day realize our federal government is a corrupted mafia style operation that has been infected in every area and department. A giant, worldwide money laundering operation that has used advanced military, policing powers and economic assets to enforce its will. Some people are OK with that. MAGA is not.
Which is why they hate us so much.
The national deficit and debt has all been created through fraud and forever wars. We the People need to know and take action where we are. The national debt should be wiped clean and all of the criminals arrested, convicted and dealt with in accordance with the law. How that gets done is left up to PDT in my world.

That is correct. Two big ones were that they were telling the underwriters to relax credit standards on DEI type applicants while basically green lighting non-citizens with temporary visas who had only applied for permanent resident status. They wanted loans made in high volumes. They did no IG legal follow-up on criminal referrals of fraudulent applicants as well.
You would not believe the number of people who prepared fake past tax federal returns to try to get loans. We always did verifications as required by policy and they would kick out. We would report them to the IG. With Brandon’s crew they would stall or ignore the referral. Some would prepare false returns and file them as amended returns. They were willing to pay some taxes and penalties to get a large loan done. Which should tell the lender they were scamming the system, unless the lender was in on it or did not care if it was an early default.
Should tell anybody who just read that some of the money would do a circle back Psaki into the politician pockets.

1-11 Concerning Christ’s temptation, observe, that directly after he was declared to be the Son of God, and the Saviour of the world, he was tempted; great privileges, and special tokens of Divine favour, will not secure any from being tempted. But if the Holy Spirit witness to our being adopted as children of God, that will answer all the suggestions of the evil spirit. Christ was directed to the combat. If we presume upon our own strength, and tempt the devil to tempt us, we provoke God to leave us to ourselves. Others are tempted, when drawn aside of their own lust, and enticed, #Jas 1:14|; but our Lord Jesus had no corrupt nature, therefore he was tempted only by the devil. I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I see differences in the two situations. The killer said Tim Walz wanted Amy Klobuchar’s senate seat and instructed him to kill with that end in mind. That seems completely unlikely to me for these, and other, reasons:
• Walz would know there was a strong likelihood that his plans/instructions would come to light when relying on such a mentally ill person. He would know that such a person would not be reliable.
• Why would Walz want a senate seat to the extent that he would have someone killed in the off chance that doing so would gain him the seat? Killing people, including Klobuchar if that was planned, would not guarantee Walz the seat. Even Walz is not so deranged that he would think this was a good plan.
With the Clintons, on the other hand, each killing they are suspected of had direct benefit to them by either shutting someone down who might have evidence or by paving the way for climbing the political ladder, and more. In that way, unfortunately, those killings would make more sense. Although I don’t know if they ordered killings, I think they are ruthless and I wouldn’t put anything past them.
Is Walz also ruthless enough to order killings? Maybe. I just don’t think the Illinois situation is likely an example of it.
The other reason the idea of killing Klobuchar would be insane is that the other do-nothing senator Tina Smith had already announced she’s not running again and her seat is up for grabs Nov 2026.

This is from a 2018 Minnesota criminal prosecution against Somali daycare fraudsters. In surveillance video, Somali parents would take their kids to the daycare, check them in, and then leave with them moments later. There really is a kind of MAGA women’s style – I’ve noticed it for years – particularly at rallies – as a kind of cultural thing, but I personally find criticism of the style more offensive than the medical downside of the style itself (as most here know, I’m not a fan of plastic surgery).
Sydney Sweeney is a perfect example. Longish, straightened hair, often dead straight (Ivanka is the quintessential example), close to the eyes (Noem), along with the plump lips and tent-raiser boobs, frequently paired with too-high heels and too-short skirts.
And yet, I don’t think it’s a bad look. Noem’s do-over has grown on me over time.
