As a partial explanation and rumination on the above, it has long occurred to me that true “genocide” would have something to do with genomes. Previous “genocides” have been associated with following particular leaders, religious practices, wearing of certain “badges” on clothing (like little alligators) and the like, but real genocides would have certain genetic (and immutable) factors as targets.

She was very active against the jabs, but promoted a lot of very borderline stuff. See my response to Gail. I would be hesitant to dismiss everything that Jane Ruby reports. She’s not the kind that one can be binary on, IMO. She deserves only suspicion, not being ignored.
Anybody here who suspects that GMO foods are not as healthy as non-GMO foods, and that replacement of real food with GMO food will decrease human health overall, can believe what she says – even the borderline statement about “This Will Accelerate Human Disease and Suffering”.
In other words, for a lot of people like Aubergine and Linda (who prefers natural thyroid medicine), IMO Jane Ruby passes truth tests on this one.
I eat both natural and GMO foods. I personally believe – for example – that “organic” strawberries are both better-tasting and (for me) healthier than GMO strawberries that are big and fibrous and less tasty. But I happily eat GMO strawberries, too. They’re cheap and plentiful, and I don’t think they’re dangerous. Just “lower quality”.
But I know many people on synthetic T4 or humulin (GMO insulin) therapy, and it seems to work extremely well. There is (IMO) definite increased standardization and dosing reliability of these synthetic drugs, even though in the case of thyroid, I also suspect that the natural drug is more complete as a larger therapy.
I’m almost glad that we’re nitpicking two sides of truth on this. The GMO question needs to be continually asked, IMO, for every replacement.

If I can make egg white liquid cheaper, faster, and just as healthy without chickens, it’s a great product. If I can make it taste better, that’s even better!
I want my real eggs, too, but I can see making foods that nature can’t, just like I can see making transportation, or furniture, that nature can’t.
The only problem, IMO, is quality. It needs to be good. No secrets. No lies. And if you can’t do it, you can’t do it. But if you CAN do it, then do it.
I don’t see why we can’t have GMO stuff that aspires to be as tasty and healthy as the real thing. That’s how to make MAHA bigger and better!
I say ZERO tolerance for DNA in mRNA products – including vaccines. And if it’s not safe, zero tolerance for that, too.
And test against placebo. DO IT. And if it fails, then go back to the drawing board and FIX IT.

The art of cooking is making things novel that were once usual. Smoked and seared meats contain substances once foreign to the underlying organism. Adding herbs, spices, non-native substances, and preparation methods are all parts of what makes dining delightful.
OTOH, too much abstraction away from natural forms thwarts the natural adaptations in our bodies to optimize such foods. Very frequently, “contaminants” in what we eat are essential to absorb and use the nutrients therein. If we look to consume only the basic nutrients, especially synthesized versions, we lose the benefits of a varied diet.
I agree. I think natural food must always be defended – to the DEATH if need be.
But I’d also love to see GMO stuff try to do some good works, not just profitable ones.

I’ll just start by admitting I’m not much of a Buffet fan. Or whoever his partner is. Money is fine, but I try to worry about it as little as possible.
As for food, I worry some, mostly for my own health.
The way I see it, we went through the first level of this stuff with cooked food vs. uncooked.
Then domesticated plants and animals vs. wild ones.
In both of those cases, we actually EVOLVED in parallel with those behavioral changes. In other words, the software and hardware changed together. Beautiful design – but I digress.
An enormous library of information is stored by evolution, in not only our DNA, but in the DNA of all the species we use or consume.
We discount that information at our peril. Translation – by default, natural is better, because it’s smarter, even though we are pretty bad about reading that smartness.
Our first vain attempts at moving beyond that are fragile and weak, like collecting wild seeds and planting them closer to where we live, knowing nothing about agriculture. But the more we learned, the more agriculture – real agriculture – became possible.
Similarly, artificial food, which can be positive or negative in comparison to what has gone before, becomes possible.

As a preface, my vision is something else. I can see the slightest measurement and name it. Like “that picture is off level by 1/16 of an inch.” It drives the DH nuts. One time we were having a porch rail installed. I walked out thirty feet to look at it, and it was too low on the right. I told the installer, and he told me hell no it wasn’t! I made him measure it, and it was less than 1/4 inch too low on the right end. The porch rail was twenty feet long. I just see stuff like that.
If you pause the above video at 12 seconds, the right Tower is already leaning the tiniest bit away from the left Tower, at least to my eye. Like the plane hit it hard enough to knock it just ever so slightly off-kilter.

On Sept. 11 2001, I was at a VA hospital awaiting my meeting with other Nam vet …one we held bi-weekly.
The TV was on in the break room as the horror of 9-11 unfolded.
my oldest son join the Army after this event and did 3 tours in combat in Iraq…..wounded twice….brain trauma hearing loss.
because of building 7 and many other things ,,,I still have many questions about the why of that sad day.

COMMENTARY FOR GALATIANS 5
An earnest exhortation to stand fast in the liberty of the gospel. (1-12) To take heed of indulging a sinful temper. (13-15) And to walk in the Spirit, and not to fulfil the lusts of the flesh: the works of both are described. (16-26)
1-6 Christ will not be the Saviour of any who will not own and rely upon him as their only Saviour. Let us take heed to the warnings and persuasions of the apostle to stedfastness in the doctrine and liberty of the gospel. All true Christians, being taught by the Holy Spirit, wait for eternal life, the reward of righteousness, and the object of their hope, as the gift of God by faith in Christ; and not for the sake of their own works. The Jewish convert might observe the ceremonies or assert his liberty, the Gentile might disregard them or might attend to them, provided he did not depend upon them. No outward privileges or profession will avail to acceptance with God, without sincere faith in our Lord Jesus. True faith is a working grace; it works by love to God, and to our brethren. May we be of the number of those who, through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. The danger of old was not in things of no consequence in themselves, as many forms and observances now are. But without faith working by love, all else is worthless, and compared with it other things are of small value.
7-12 The life of a Christian is a race, wherein he must run, and hold on, if he would obtain the prize. It is not enough that we profess Christianity, but we must run well, by living up to that profession. Many who set out fairly in religion, are hindered in their progress, or turn out of the way. It concerns those who begin to turn out of the way, or to tire in it, seriously to inquire what hinders them. The opinion or persuasion, ver. #8|, was, no doubt, that of mixing the works of the law with faith in Christ in justification. The apostle leaves them to judge whence it must arise, but sufficiently shows that it could be owing to none but Satan. It is dangerous for Christian churches to encourage those who follow, but especially who spread, destructive errors. And in reproving sin and error, we should always distinguish between the leaders and the led. The Jews were offended, because Christ was preached as the only salvation for sinners. 13-15 The gospel is a doctrine according to godliness, #1Ti 6:3|, and is so far from giving the least countenance to sin, that it lays us under the strongest obligation to avoid and subdue it. The apostle urges that all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. If Christians, who should help one another, and rejoice one another, quarrel, what can be expected but that the God of love should deny his grace, that the Spirit of love should depart, and the evil spirit, who seeks their destruction, should prevail? Happy would it be, if Christians, instead of biting and devouring one another on account of different opinions, would set themselves against sin in themselves, and in the places where they live.
16-26 If it be our care to act under the guidance and power of the blessed Spirit, though we may not be freed from the stirrings and oppositions of the corrupt nature which remains in us, it shall not have dominion over us. Believers are engaged in a conflict, in which they earnestly desire that grace may obtain full and speedy victory. And those who desire thus to give themselves up to be led by the Holy Spirit, are not under the law as a covenant of works, nor exposed to its awful curse. Their hatred of sin, and desires after holiness, show that they have a part in the salvation of the gospel. The works of the flesh are many and manifest. And these sins will shut men out of heaven. Yet what numbers, calling themselves Christians, live in these, and say they hope for heaven! The fruits of the Spirit, or of the renewed nature, which we are to do, are named. And as the apostle had chiefly named works of the flesh, not only hurtful to men themselves, but tending to make them so to one another, so here he chiefly notices the fruits of the Spirit, which tend to make Christians agreeable one to another, as well as to make them happy. The fruits of the Spirit plainly show, that such are led by the Spirit. I would really appreciate prayer, again, for the Estate/Trust situation. There is a low-ball offer on the table for Dad’s house, the only one that’s been made so far. There is also an Open House there this afternoon. Please pray for God’s will & timing & favor on the selling price & even who will live there. Ideally we’d like to see a bidding war drive the price up which would give me more inherited funds to help cover properties vs some type of financing. My non-trustee bro told me a lot about HELOCs, that he used to sell, as a possible way to make up fund shortages, so I need to dive deeper on this possibility.
I have a lot of number crunching to do to see about how “best” to “inherit” the Cottage property & the “Hilton” hunting “cabin”. My trustee brother has been mostly inflexible on details including comparable percentage reductions for pricing for me versus the public…sigh…
I really need God’s wisdom & guidance as this process continues to unfold.
I’ve been listening to A Lot of worship music of late to help me keep more focused on a Kingdom perspective so that the slings & arrows don’t theoretically wound as deeply.

IMO, a HELOC is like a “double-edged sword.” The person signing on to a HELOC is using their home as a kind of “credit card” for funds. These funds will have to be repaid to the lender. These repayments would then be in addition to any other payments that the person has to fulfill (credit cards, home mortgage, car payments, etc.)
About the lowball offer on the family home: Real estate prices are starting to trend lower. One rental property that Yours Truly owns has made a dive into lower market valuation since about 8 months ago. But this depends on the local market. Some areas are “holding their own” regarding pricing and valuations. Other areas are a mixture of “hold their own” and lowered.
I think around here Summer tends to be hotter real estate wise as people try to move before the school year begins.

I continue to read your reports with empathy & best wishes for acceptable outcomes.
I offer this – my experience – solely as that. Not advice, just perspective from a fellow traveler.
Death & estate processes are not unlike divorce experiences … huge grief, anger, loss at the same time financial conflict abounds. Decades ago, I was in the throes of that – sharing not just a home & family life with my ex, but we co-owned and operated a business together. Not quite the same as your long tradition with family homesteads, but a LOT of history of our lives together.
When the divorce procedure conflicts overwhelmed me; I realized that whatever I gained at the end of the battle was not only ruining my ability to heal & live in the present, the future ‘enjoyment’ of any financially-related tangibles would bear some taint of that really ugly time period & the struggle to keep them.
I told my attorney I was done. I walked away from the financial battles; did what I needed to do emotionally to reconcile my marital losses and moved on with my life.
To this day I have not once regretted my decision. When emotional ties – like your cabins or our co-owned business – become wrapped up in financial conflict, there is rarely a ‘clean’ future in the retained property. The conflict leaves scars and reminders
In a similar vein, much happened during the 2-year season of my parents’ deaths during COVID lockdowns (unvaxxed and totally unrelated to COVId). But because of the COVID BS, I was unable to fly home to be with either parent to say goodbye, nor participate in the physical division of who got what of their belongings. Although I had a terrific brother handling estate & divisions of items, there were still things I would have liked to see one last time, or claim for my own home because of tradition & memories. Instead those things went elsewhere without me ever seeing them again.
As in my divorce, for my own emotional health, I focused on healing my grief at losing my parents and not for losing things that represent memories. I will ALWAYS have the memories, even without the things.
I do not mean to compare myself & decisions to what you face. I FULLY realize you want those dwellings for future memory-making as much as for past generational reasons. It DOES make sense why you want them, and I wish you success.
What I can say is I went on to build new traditions, a new business, a wonderful new marriage, new generational legacies and still have not once regretted not using my present days’ emotional health to fight for a future tangible item.
Only you can look at your future and weigh the costs of what you are fighting for – both emotionally & financially. I pray that the future you are fighting for is worth the cost, because your daily struggle appears to be … intense.
Ending with one thought regarding your sucky brother trustee … he is getting lowball offers on your Dad’s house. It is likely he is also over-valuing what he thinks he’ll get from the properties you want. He should instead be grateful he has such an eager buyer!!

Yes there are 2 properties about an hour apart in Northern Michigan, The Cottage that’s been in the family nearly a century, where we’ve vacationed most of our marriage & where Hubby & I lived the first year & a half in MI, our oldest was born when we lived there. My grandparents used it as a Summer & Vacation property & winterized it in the ’60s when the “White Flight” race-based block busting had them sell off their Detroit home & move Up North when they’d always intended to live in Detroit for the rest of their lives. We were the last to live there year round ’93-’94 when we bought our first house in town.
The “Luzerne Hilton” is a one room hunting “cabin” on property next to The Shack hunting “cabin” that’s been in the family about a century. The Hilton (named by former owners) is a slightly more modern version of a hunting “cabin” though unlike the Shack it has no water, the Shack has a hand pump. Both buildings have outhouses behind.
The Hilton was acquired by my dad & his hunting buddy about a decade & a half ago when that neighboring hunting camp sold it to our “old timers”. Pretty much ever since my dad had been trying to buy his buddy out of his half ownership as the deed was set up as survivor gets it all & Dad’s family & friends were pretty much the only users & maintainers of the Hilton. Clyde consistently refused to budge then he died & Dad presented his death certificate & redeeded the Hilton just to himself for he thought he needed Clyde’s widow to sign off on dower’s rights. Apparently the dower’s rights law was changed like a decade ago but it wouldn’t have applied to the joint tenancy deed the two hunters had in place. I only found out about the widow’s/dower’s non-existent rights from my estate attorney about a month ago & raised related issues w/ little bro & his/the estate’s attorney but they won’t even discuss it whatsoever.
Anyway my dad was making numerous efforts over the years to deed it to my husband, my 3 non-disabled hunting children, & Hubby’s hunting buddy Pete. Dad spoke about his desires over at least the last five years, including right up before he died. All planned deed holders heard these things directly from my dad so there is no confusion about his wishes.
Little bro who is Trustee/Executor of the the Estate/Trust spelled out how he clearly understood Dad’s wishes & would carry them out as Dad had spoken of the situation so many times (even for hours w/ me when he was in the hospital about 2 months before he died). Anyway that was before little bro’s (or the Trust’s) attorney discovered that the deed had been added into the Trust & now we are being required to pay for it instead of as Dad intended (& how he deeded the Shack to multiple family members like 2 decades ago now) & clearly stated Many Times.
Anyway little bro wants $30,000 for the Hilton & now makes no provision for my father’s stated wishes that he clearly knows & articuated verbally in the business meeting immediately following Dad’s funeral luncheon & reiterated in an impassioned email the next day. Then he switched on a dime because of the deed/trust situation & he basically has the control to do (mostly) what he wants, w/in the terms of the Trust.
My whole family has been in an uproar about how the Hilton, in particular, is being handled for they all heard Grandpa spell out how he wanted things to go & it was Not this way. I’ll probably have to have my name on the deed as the inheriting party & that was never an option for I’m not a hunter & there is a century long tradition about how hunting property is handled w/in our family/friend hunting camp & you have to Earn the Right to be on the deed, which my 4 family members & Pete have done, for years now…it’s complicated business & painful & “unfair” & not at all how Dad wanted this property to pass into the “right” owners’ hands…sigh…
6 generations of my family died &/or are buried in Gaylord, 10 minutes from the Cottage, but only my oldest son was born Up North, so he has an old nickname “The Jackpine Savage” 🙂

As America marks another September 11, the man long identified as the principal architect of the attacks still has not been tried. Last week, a military judge at Guantanamo Bay set June 5, 2028, as the latest trial date for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and three alleged co-conspirators. If that date holds — and in this case, dates rarely hold — America will put the alleged 9/11 mastermind in the dock twenty-seven years after nearly 3,000 people were murdered on our soil.
That is not justice delayed. It is justice mocked.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, a Pakistani national, not an American citizen, stands accused of conceiving and directing the plot that turned civilian airliners into weapons against the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the passengers who fought back over Pennsylvania. In March 2007, before a Combatant Status Review Tribunal at Guantanamo, Mohammed confessed to being “responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z.” He has been in U.S. custody since 2003, at Guantanamo since 2006. Prosecutors charged him in 2008, arraigned him in 2012, and now, in the late summer of 2026, the fifth military judge overseeing this case has set a trial for June 5, 2028 — nearly twenty-seven years after the fact.
Making matters worse, that judge, U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Michael Schrama, has suppressed Mohammed’s 2007 statements to the FBI, jeopardizing a conviction, as if Mohammed were entitled to the full protections of the Fifth and Sixth Amendments.
Can we imagine the Nuremberg Tribunal suppressing Hermann Göring’s confession?
Certainly not.
As I said on national television last week: a quarter-century delay in a war-crimes prosecution is inexcusable.
Compare Guantanamo with the standard America once set for itself. After Nazi Germany surrendered in May 1945, President Truman appointed Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson as chief prosecutor of the major war criminals. The Nuremberg Military Tribunal opened on November 20, 1945 — less than seven months after V-E Day. Judgment came in October 1946, and the Tribunal sentenced twelve Nazis to be hanged by the neck. Unlike the Guantanamo fiasco, the Allies did not grant Nazi defendants two decades of pretrial motion practice in a civilian courthouse.
Jackson understood something our liberal legal culture has ignored. A military commission for enemy war criminals is not a federal criminal trial in New York City. It is an instrument of national self-defense and historical accountability. The Constitution does not confer domestic criminal-procedure rights on foreign enemies who slaughter civilians.
Herein lies the disgrace. A liberal legal mentality — embraced across administrations, courts, convening authorities, and a defense bar that treats delay as a strategy — has imported into a war-crimes case every feature of the modern American criminal process: endless discovery fights, classified-evidence wars, successive judges, interlocutory appeals, and the fiction that a non-citizen unlawful combatant is a defendant in a routine homicide in Brooklyn.
This is a liberal system that cannot prosecute the very case it was built to prosecute.
The 2024 plea-deal fiasco made the confusion worse. Pentagon prosecutors and the military commission convening authority reached agreements under which Mohammed and two co-defendants would plead guilty in exchange for taking the death penalty off the table. Then-Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin revoked those agreements within days, after Republican members of Congress and many 9/11 families objected. A military judge and a military appeals court initially treated the deals as locked in.
In July 2025, a divided D.C. Circuit held that Austin had authority to withdraw the deals, putting the death penalty back on the table. The accused then asked the Supreme Court to revive the life-sentence agreements. All this points to another year of appellate trench warfare — probably delaying the June 5, 2028, trial date, yet again.
This sordid spectacle dishonors those who died in those towers, in the Pentagon, and on that Pennsylvania field. Throughout the delay, families have buried parents, spouses, and children. First responders have buried colleagues and then buried one another as the aftereffects of 9/11 continued to kill.
They were promised a reckoning. Instead, they got a seminar.
Defenders of the delay blame the CIA’s interrogation program — waterboarding and other black-site methods used before Mohammed arrived at Guantanamo. Weak procedural rules written for the military commissions handed defense lawyers a generation of suppression motions. Lieutenant Colonel Schrama has excluded Mohammed’s 2007 FBI statements as “involuntary,” finding they were tainted by what came before.
As Schrama treats Mohammed as an American citizen, here is what the left never admits: War criminals are not ordinary criminal defendants. Unlawful enemy combatants — Islamic foreigners who target civilians for massacre — are not owed Miranda warnings, Speedy Trial Act clocks, or the full architecture of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments as if they had been arrested on a street corner in the United States. They are owed a lawful, public, prompt military judgment — and, if convicted of capital war crimes, the sentence the law allows.
We have done the opposite. We built a hybrid court, then allowed every actor in it to litigate the hybrid until the court itself became the story. The story is delay, delay, and more delay.
With the trial originally scheduled for 2021, the judge pushed it to June 2028 so Mohammed’s lawyers could file more pretrial motions. At this inexcusable pace, some of the widows and widowers who waited for a verdict will never live to hear one.
This is not toughness. It is decadence.
A serious country does not spend a generation arguing with itself about whether the man who proposed flying airliners into American buildings should be handled with the manners of a municipal arraignment. A serious country tries him, states the evidence in open court, and lets a panel of officers return a verdict the public can understand.
Nuremberg wasn’t perfect. But Jackson’s generation understood the difference between law and paralysis. They stayed the hand of raw vengeance and still finished the work. We have stayed the hand of judgment itself.
As another anniversary arrives, the United States owes the dead something more than another scheduling order. It owes them a trial. Not delayed until 2028 if we can help it, and under rules fit for a war crime, not for a faculty lounge. If America cannot prosecute the mastermind of the worst attack on the American homeland in modern history, then we should stop congratulating ourselves about the rule of law and admit what we have actually built: a process so favoring the enemy that it has become cruel to the victims.

His wife was likely a really serious loser – a hitter, a screamer, a thrower, and an abuser. Maybe even a CHILD abuser. Yes – that might come out. Possibly also a drug user. Enough to lose custody. Whatever the story, SHE was likely the one who was most risk under close examination.
Whatever her faults, HE was obviously putting up with them and not calling the cops.
The problem with an abusive wife or girlfriend is that men know they can defend themselves against any true danger, and they tend to tolerate a lot of abuse, rather than call the cops. Why not call the cops? The cops tend to just “arrest both sides” when they get an “abusive woman” call – especially if the woman is prepared to lie – which happens so often, it may even happen most of the time.
Plus, he may not have wanted custody. Child welfare workers tend to assume that MOST men don’t actually want major or full custody.
SO – as long as the wife doesn’t grab a gun or actually slash with a knife, men will put up with a lot of bullshit.
The thing is, judges and lawyers will sort out the truth, once something goes to trial. His ex KNEW that. She very likely dropped charges – she definitely refused to testify. It’s noteworthy to me that she didn’t say that she wouldn’t testify because she was afraid of him. I think it’s because she was more afraid of the child welfare bureaucracy. She wasn’t going to risk losing custody if all the truth came out.
The dumb young nephew didn’t know all that. Not part of the dysfunctional family dynamic. Holdout juror probably told him not to call the cops – but he did anyway, and now the holdout dude saw his cobbled-together, house of cards, life swept away.
I’m not siding with him completely. He should have gotten away from his bad ex more cleanly, and earlier.
But if my theory is correct, that was his secret sauce on the jury. He knows what a highly dysfunctional woman is like, and how they actually bear responsibility for the maelstrom of family trouble they cause.
IMO, one of the best reasons to have 12 jurors is that at least one person who knows what only 10% of people know, will be on that jury.

According to Rove, White House National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, had been blocking Tenet from meeting with President Bush. Director Tenet sent several requests using alternate channels to reach Bush. Eventually, in the late spring or early summer 2001, Tenet overcame the Rice block and was given time to brief President Bush.
CIA Director George Tenet then told President Bush the CIA had intercepted telephone “chatter” pointing to an al-Qaeda terrorist threat that somehow involved airlines. However, the details and the specifics of the threat were unknown. The only thing Tenet knew with certainty was that some type of plot was underway and airlines were involved.
George W Bush responded to Tenet by saying it appeared the CIA director was just trying to “cover his ass” in case something happened. Bush was angered at the vagueness of the warning and told Tenet to consider his ass covered, but essentially the information was useless without specifics.

Chinese National Working as CBP Supervisor at Maine-Canada Border Caught on Camera Swapping Hardware Inside Homeland Security Computers — Then Putting Them Back on the Government Network
Customs and Border Protection supervisor assigned to the Maine-Canada border has been arrested and charged after FBI agents say he was caught on hidden camera tearing apart government computers, ripping out processors and memory, stuffing in cheaper parts, and plugging the machines back into CBP’s network.
Terry “Jiajia” Liu, 39, of Calais, Maine, described himself as a native of Guangzhou, China. He worked as a CBP supervisor at the Calais Port of Entry, with duties stretching to the Ferry Point and Milltown crossings.
CBP officers are required to be U.S. citizens. According to The Maine Wire, Liu has posted images suggesting he voted in 2020. That does not answer the question every American should be asking: how did a man from Guangzhou end up with after-hours access to Homeland Security computers on the northern border?
According to an FBI affidavit obtained by Steve Robinson at The Maine Wire, CBP IT staff discovered in late 2025 that computers at three Maine border facilities had been modified without authorization. The count grew to 46 machines: 38 in Calais, six at Ferry Point, two at Milltown.
Thirty-nine had their CPUs swapped. Six had RAM changed. Eight had hard drives replaced.
The original hardware included 14th-generation Intel Core i7 processors. What went back in were older, weaker chips, including Pentium-class parts that did not meet CBP specs. Many of those computers were then reconnected to the agency network.
Port Director Theodore Cummings had already told Liu in writing in March 2025: “Please do not move any computers or computer parts.” Stay in your lane. File a ticket. Liu allegedly kept going.

The originals carried 14th-generation Intel Core i7 processors, including the i7-14700 parts that PCMag says Newegg’s trade-in program would buy for about $200 apiece. What went back in were older, weaker chips, including Pentium-class processors that did not meet CBP specs. Less memory. Less storage. Then the machines went back on the agency network.
Read that last sentence again. They did not leave the junk on a cart. They logged it into Homeland Security.
The government says it would cost more than $20,000 just to put the right parts back and more than $105,000 to replace the 46 computers before anyone even configures them for official use.
He Was Told to Stop. He Did Not Stop.
Liu’s job included limited IT duties. He was not authorized to tear the boxes apart. Port Director Theodore Cummings put it in writing on March 18, 2025, after speaking with him.
Please do not move any computers or computer parts.
Cummings added that contractor gear and CBP computers were not Liu’s playground. Stay in your lane. File a ticket.
I do appreciate the intent but we should stay in our lane and report deficiencies through the work ticket process.
Liu allegedly kept going. Investigators installed cameras. On a January overnight shift they recorded him carrying computers into a training room, popping the side panels, pulling processors, scraping thermal paste, seating replacements, and hooking the machines back to monitors, keyboards, and network cables. At one point he appeared to log in with his government ID. Another camera later caught him pulling a memory module and dropping it in his desk drawer.
Midnight coverage at Calais often left one supervisor on the passenger side while traffic ran through cargo. Plenty of quiet. Plenty of time.
