News, X’s you tube, or simply, different. In no particular order…

Ignoring shutdown crapola in this post.  Dumrats AND FUBAR courts continue doing everything they can to destroy the economy, sabotage Trump 2.0…  F’m, Each And Every One Of Them.

On to other stuff…

Once upon a time, I believed in sanctions.

At some point along the Ukraine Russia War crotch novel, “sanctions” became, IMO, commonly, short-sighted, ignorant, arrogant…counter-productive.

  • Maggot’s never seemed focused. Perhaps that was also common under Bushie’s, hussein…
  • Trump’s sanctions seem targeted, to get a specific reaction / action.

The sanctions wouldn’t bring any result. They wouldn’t change our course for defending our national interests.

– Sergey Lavrov

India Today Global, video further below, is insightful.

INSTC, Russia, Iran, India, Rail & Sanctions Bypass

Building Rail to Bypass Sanctions

The International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is happening now. Connecting Russia to Iran by railroad. Then via ships to India. Bypassing naval choke points and sanctions regimes.

Extensions (eventually, maybe) to China Belt & Road locations, and potentially through Afghanistan (and some of the other *stans) to China as well.

Cutting transit times by 40% and costs by 30%. And avoiding Western Influence & Sanctions & Money.

Forcing the East & Global South & Russia into a shunned status has not only created BRICS+ and the Multipolar world; but is also pushing the creation of “bypasses” to all financial and transport & trade systems of The West. Rejecting 1/2 of the world will not work well for The West (USA, EU, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada; honorary mention Japan).

As this BRICS+ Block integrates, it will become one of the most powerful and influential blocks in the global future. Europe is already in dramatic decline (with Germany almost in economic collapse; and Germany is the financial cash cow that had paid for the rest of the EU… ). Demographics is also working against The West with most of Europe and the USA very top heavy with Old Retired Folks ( I am one ) and light on new births of new productive workers to pay the retirement bills.

As this transport system rolls out, connecting the BRICS+ nations together will also attract their neighbors to join in too. Shifting Russia from their desire to integrate with Europe (Putin in about 1998-9 asked to join NATO…) and into an Asian focus was likely the worst possible thing to do for The West.

Imagine for a moment a world where post USSR, we had invited Russia into The West. There would be an economic union spanning from the Atlantic to the Pacific across Eurasia, and then across north America back to the UK again. That is what we have thrown away via Russia Paranoia and TLA (Three Letter Agency) activism.

Instead we have the USA squandering $Trillions over the years on military adventures, Europe economically on the ropes via shunning low cost and plentiful Russian oil, gas, grain, timber & minerals. With Russia, China and increasingly India; becoming an integrated economic Eurasian Powerhouse. Good luck with that…

It seems that when you bully and piss on folks long enough, they don’t want to do business with you anymore and find other folks to work with. Free markets are like that, and when someone tries to enforce Monopolistic Abusive Policy long enough, folks get motivated to build an alternative.

Here’s a very useful video from the perspective of India on all of this. A pretty good economic and political analysis that also includes a sense of the annoyance people (and countries via their leadership) can have when others attempt to manipulate and dominate them, along with some history. Something to keep in mind in the present mode of manipulation and domination via tariffs & sanctions…

Note that in addition to rail through Azerbaijan there’s a water link through the Caspian Sea. So even destabilizing Azerbaijan (as the TLAs will want to try) can not stop this system from working. Also note the statement that Moscow is paying for most of this – Russia has plenty of money in their economy. The “economic sanctions war” is a failed approach.

Maybe, just maybe: The West would make better progress by respecting other countries and being their friends and partners, instead of the current approach of “piss & vinegar” sanctions and berating. More honey and kind words, more respect for sovereign nations and less “regime change” to impose despised “leaders”…

But having burned all those bridges already, I suspect it is a bit late to start trying to rebuild them.

^^^  Emphasis mine.

AI being oversold?  I dunno.  Certainly has significant place in future growth, but…

Dowd.  Chinks in the AI hype.

Dr Yound.

MIT just exposed every top AI model and it’s not pretty.

They built a new test called WorldTest to see if AI actually understands the world… and the results are brutal.

It doesn’t just check how well a model predicts the next frame or maximizes reward it tests whether it can build an internal model of reality and use it to handle new situations.

They built AutumnBench 43 interactive worlds, 129 tasks where AIs must:

• Predict hidden parts of the world (masked-frame prediction)

• Plan sequences of actions to reach a goal

• Detect when the environment’s rules suddenly change

Then they tested 517 humans vs. Claude, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and o3.

Humans crushed every model. Even massive compute scaling barely helped.

The takeaway is wild.. today’s AIs don’t understand environments; they just pattern-match inside them.

They don’t explore strategically, revise beliefs, or run experiments like humans do.

WorldTest might be the first benchmark that actually measures understanding, not memorization.

The gap it reveals isn’t small it’s the next grand challenge in AI cognition.

What a disgusting comment, and it’s hardly been the only one along these lines.

First off, the question was from a person seemingly to my left, about my interfaith marriage. I’m a public figure, and people are curious, and I wasn’t going to avoid the question.

Second, my Christian faith tells me the Gospel is true and is good for human beings. My wife–as I said at the TPUSA–is the most amazing blessing I have in my life. She herself encouraged me to reengage with my faith many years ago. She is not a Christian and has no plans to convert, but like many people in an interfaith marriage–or any interfaith relationship–I hope she may one day see things as I do. Regardless, I’ll continue to love and support her and talk to her about faith and life and everything else, because she’s my wife.

Third, posts like this wreak of anti-Christian bigotry. Yes, Christians have beliefs. And yes, those beliefs have many consequences, one of which is that we want to share them with other people. That is a completely normal thing, and anyone who’s telling you otherwise has an agenda. https://x.com/ezralevant/sta/ezralevant/status/1984072547357618408

Adam Carolla breaks down the average weight of a person receiving SNAP Food Stamps in America

– Theaverage female who gets no free food from the government is 146 pounds

– The average SNAP recipient is 211 pounds

“We talk about going hungry, nobody could benefit from a nice fast more than the SNAP recipients”(because they’re fat)

End taxpayer funded free food

I’m not sure about ending all of it. I don’t begrudge food for the truly needy. It’s just so easy to cheat the system.

Wolf Moon

The system needs an overhaul, and this shutdown is bringing needed attention to it!

Thank you, Senator SCUMBAG!

Aubergine

The problem with the food stamp system is what can be purchased with food stamps. And that is the direct result of lobbying by junk food companies.

With WIC, it’s milk, peanut butter, eggs, veggies, fruit, cheese. No junk.

Which is what all food assistance should be.

patfrederick

you know I’m in favor of meat. If stores can prepackage a “bundle” of basic meat cuts –hamburger, chicken, pork chops, that type of thing and a ham at Easter, a turkey at Thanksgiving, that each ebt holder gets monthly, i wouldn’t have a problem with that.

Aubergine

Works for me. The local meat packer sells packages like that here. Contents vary as the price goes up.

Valerie Curren

I shop the manager’s mark down section for meat which makes the prices barely more tolerable 🙁

Aubergine

My Dad, even when we had plenty of money, routinely sought out and bought the steaks in the markdown bin. If he couldn’t, he left the “fresh” ones in the fridge for a week before he would cook it!

I still almost never buy “fresh” beef. “Old” is better.

Valerie Curren

Well seasoned…like many of us!

Valerie Curren

WIC used to buy my specialty formulas after Josiah’s first heart surgery (Portogen + Moducal + MCT oil, the formulas were $25/canister & $40/canister & the oil was $60/quart). Later they covered his Pediasure (prescribed by a doctor) which was $10/6-pack, we got 19 6-packs a month. This was the mid-late 90s iirc. My hubby was angry that I sought that help, which we qualified for financially, but it did help us barely make ends meet. I got the healthy food from WIC as a breast-feeding mom. I don’t so much remember the other food components for the kids though. We never did pursue Food Stamps, except for Josiah as a late teen or possibly young adult, which he qualified for as he was on SSI & got their full benefits until he started his PT work & later married, both of which reduced his SSI a bit. He probably still could get Food Stamps but that’s in his wife’s hands as she’s his Rep Payee now, not me…

Valerie Curren

The “Walmart diet” (what I call “cheaper” food some of us are forced to eat), is not exactly super healthy…sadly. Cooking at home helps to some extent though….

Aubergine

I get the “cheap food” thing, trust me. It’s why I grow almost all the veggies we eat, on a city lot.

But I still maintain that it can be just as cheap to eat real food, if people know/learn how to cook. A large part of our problem in America is so many people don’t know how anymore.

Give me a handful of ingredients, I’ll give you a recipe to cook it. That’s how I was taught and raised.

Valerie Curren

For some reason I thought you lived on acreage. If you do all those amazing things on a “city lot” you are even that much More Remarkable!

We have restrictions on lot usage in Metro Detroit, like we can’t have livestock, not even chickens. Dad was showing us his grandpa’s Detroit property back when we celebrated my parents’ 60th Anniversary. When his grandpa was there into the 50s he had chickens, a pig, & a horse & of course dog(s) all on a basic city lot. Talk about Way more freedom!

Aubergine

My lot is about 50 feet wide by 150 feet deep. On it are an 1100 square foot house, a 550 square foot cottage, and a 400 square foot building we jokingly call “the barn” that my son lives in. There’s a chicken run with a small coop. There’s a small patio with a fire pit. Pretty much ALL of the rest is garden of some kind. There is a patch of grass about 15 x 15 feet in the front yard, so my daughter’s dogs have somewhere to play and poop!

Yes, my garden/yard is very crowded! But it’s pretty. A newish neighbor down the street told me this year that my yard is one he watches to see what happens next.

Valerie Curren

That’s amazing! We literally have almost the exact same size lot, 40 X 150 here (it’s deeper than typical which can often be 120) but our house is just shy of 1500 square feet. We also have a 1 1/2 car garage with a mostly enclosed concrete pad on the side of it. Our driveway is stretching probably 90% of the length of the property (we probably have the part of the yard behind the garage as half of a reclaimed alley) & it terminates at the garage in the back of our yard.

We had a built-in natural gas grill, but it needs the gas line repaired so Hubby has the propane grill stationed in the same location. The bulk of our backyard is shaded by a maple we planted after moving in here in ’97. We have several homemade tables so we can accommodate a gang back there. Michael really did a lot to upgrade that back entertainment area to celebrate our middle son’s engagement last Summer. We have room to garden but not much ambition. My daughter gave us a couple tomato plants this year, only one survived, but produced tons of tiny cherry tomatoes. We have some black raspberry brambles that grow in the enclosure.

I’ve been meaning to look into some square foot gardening or some other very basic approaches, but I’m not super motivated yet…sadly. My daughter is much better in this domain & has found ways to harvest things she can find in the city & make something out of them. She made lilac, dandelion, & sweet violet jellies. She also sourced some local clay & is working on some primitive pottery. She caught a lot of the cool genes from both sides of her family that might have skipped a generation in my husband & myself 😉

Aubergine

Dandelions make good wine. Just sayin’ 😉

Valerie Curren

Something to keep in mind :wpds_twisted:

Gudthots

Between soil viruses and critters of all sizes typical gardening has not been too successful. Herbs do very well. A half rotted sweet potato has become an entire forest. And, I seem to be good at growing trees, some even with fruit!

Valerie Curren

Nice!

Aubergine

I love fruit trees. I have some apples, a plum, a sweet cherry, and a sour cherry. My theory is, if a tree will grow, why not have one you can eat, lol?

It’s reminiscent of the Argonath from Tolkien’s LotR, but the scale is far too small.

Aragorn (the future King of Gondor, steers the first of three boats down the rapids of the mighty Anduin, and as the river narrows, there are magnificent statues on either side.

Hundreds of feet tall, and hewn by craftsmen of old, these imposing sentinals mark the northern border of Gondor.

The scale of the art above seems more “hobbit-like” … but Pepe is welcome everywhere in memes.

H/t to the anons!

patfrederick

never read lord of the rings.

Cuppa Covfefe

It’s well worth the read (as is Tolkien’s friend C.S. Lewis’s Narnia series… they reference each other with names and themes, e.g. the talking trees in Narnia).

[Just beware of Tim Benzedrine and Hashberry… oops, that was “Bored Of The Rings” (from the Lampoon IIRC).]

LOTR is a great allegory (although Tolkien HATED that term), and when one looks at how Melkor (and his servant Sauron [Sauros?]) worked to destroy everything Eru [God, in the LOTR-universe] creates, it’s a very apt picture of what the Devil and the SatanoDEMONRATS do here on real Earth…..

I have a box set, hardcover, with great color illustrations, as my poor dilapidated paperbacks with the stupid flat glued binding didn’t hold up at all… of course now I have to read MUCH more carefully, and keep the covfefe the heck out of the way 😆

Gail Combs

I still have my originals from back when the books first came out. Hubby has a set too.

Aubergine

It is the best of the best in my mind.

Valerie Curren

We sure love Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie trilogy & usually watch the extended versions. They are extremely well done, though, like most movies, don’t contain all of the material in the books.

Cuppa Covfefe

He made a few changes that ruin it for me. Maybe they were to simplify things, but then he vastly enlarged the Hobbit, so brevity wasn’t the point…

Valerie Curren

The Hobbit movie trilogy was a frustrating endeavor, at least to me. It’s been so long since I read LotR that those changes didn’t bother me. I’m glad that much (all?) of the dialogue was JRR’s at least!

Back on the Windows PC. Plugged the modem Ethernet cable directly into the Windows PC, and tried to get online, but nothing.

Rebooted the PC, still nothing.

Reset / rebooted the modem, then tried to get online, and it worked fine.

So as everyone figured out, it looks like I can use either the PC or the Mac (once I reset/reboot the modem), but not both. Not until I get a router.

In the meantime, I want to try a new power brick for the PC, to see if that fixes the sudden reboot for no apparent reason problem.

The one that’s suspect, that came with the PC, says this on the bottom:

BX-12020000

Input: 100-240Vac

50/60HZ ~ 2.5A

Output: 12V — 20A [note: Grok said 20A was incorrect, it must be 2.0A]

Made in China

I found a spare power brick, it’s close, but not quite:

Delta Electronics, Inc.
Model: EADP-30BB A
Input: 100-240V ~ 1A 50/60Hz
Output: 12V — 2.5A
Efficiency Level: IV

UL Listed
ITE Power Supply

Guessing the 2.5A vs. 1A is a problem.

The power supply unit (PSU) inside the fanless PC is:

Power Supply: 160 W PicoPSU Kit

To get a replacement external power brick, I’m guessing it needs to match the bad one exactly, i.e.,

………………..
Input: 100-240Vac

50/60HZ ~ 2.5A

Output: 12V — 20A [note: Grok said 20A was incorrect, it must be 2.0A]
………………..

Watts is simply Volts times Amps, so 12V 2.5A is only 30 Watts. That sounds kind of low. Didn’t you say you had a 65W motherboard?

scott467

Yes, it’s an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, “65 watt TDP thermal power design”.

Whoops, that’s the CPU.

The motherboard is a  Gigabyte A520I AC

Come to think of it, if it’s 120V 2A, then turns it into 12V, then 20A sounds right. 120×2 = 12×20.

scott467

So it sounds like I need a power brick with the exact original power ratings,

Model BX-12020000

Input: 100-240Vac

50/60HZ ~ 2.5A

Output: 12V — 20A

Wolf Moon

IMO voltage is much more important. I’m pretty loose with current and power (amps and watts) on substituted power bricks. Same voltage and connector, and I’m good to go. Never had a problem, and often the “new” power brick works better than the old one.

I may be living dangerously, but just sayin’.

cthulhu

Theoretically, you could put in a much larger power brick with an inline fuse — for 12V20A, you could use a 12V200A with a 20A fuse. I’d be more apt to use a 12V25A power supply and leave the fuse off, however.

Wolf Moon

Sounds right by me!!!

jgreen42

For reference, 120v power common in US households operates at 60hz (cycles per second) and on average a person will get to 20 or 30 of those hz before letting go

cthulhu

Yup. Getting zapped with AC really Hertz.

Is that a PC or an arc welder… 🙂

scott467

Remembering the research I did on individual PC parts, when I built a PC from individual component parts about 12 years ago (it was all plug-n-play, but still way beyond my experience level… I never spread thermal paste on a CPU before, for example), the power supply unit (this one was internal, so the regular 3-prong power cord connected directly to the standard A/C outlet in the PC case) was very important for stability reasons.

I recall people on the PC forums suggesting to spend a little extra for a quality power supply, that it was better to have too much power than not enough.

I think… it was a long time ago!

barkerjim

Sounds correct. The voltage is important, the device (computer) only draws the current it needs, assuming nothing is trying to make smoke.

You comment that you like having at least one thing of yours between the ISP equipment and your home network. I heartily concur.

There may be a dozen routers between you and a site (like foxnews.com). In all this chain of routers, the weak points are at the ends. Middles of such chains fling data from point-to-point and don’t dedicate enough actual computation to provide a weakness. Further, you can generally rely on foxnews to look after their own cybersecurity at their end….which means the cyber weaknesses are coming from inside the house!

ISPs are normally rather lax about buttoning down the hatches on their routers — but if you put a router of your own between it and your network, then the ISP router just becomes one in the middle of the chain and you can stop worrying about it.

Gudthots

Yes.

  • Your internet service provider (ISP) is spying on every single thing you do online as much as they can and then are selling it to anyone that wants the information.
  • Your snoopy neighbor might be sharing the same ISP router upstream and maybe they are sniffing your traffic too.
  • If your modem/router is provided by your ISP, they have full access into it and can change it’s settings. Including, in one case I’ve seen, turning on a secondary Wi-Fi that broadcasts guest access to their network.

Plenty of good privacy and security reasons to be motivated to get your own router.

OK – first of all, this is a SALES PITCH.

IMO it is largely based on TRUTH, and several pieces of that truth are important.

In no particular order….

Today, that “something” could mean betting against inflated valuations, or simply building defensive positions while liquidity keeps markets afloat.

I would say BOTH. Be very careful right now. Neither overly optimistic nor pessimistic.

The big one….

Every bubble is a story people tell themselves to justify the price.

In 1929, it was the automobile, radios, and electric appliances.

In 2000, it was the internet.

In 2007, it was housing.

In 2025, it’s artificial intelligence.

NVIDIA’s valuation implies that AI will transform global GDP — and perhaps it will. But every transformational technology in history, from railroads to radio to dot-com, has endured a crash before its true adoption curve began.

When the story becomes faith, price becomes scripture — and that’s when markets become dangerous.

Amen. AI is not a bust – it will change things – it is changing things – but those who think it’s going away, or becoming a God, are BOTH WRONG.

AI is a talking encyclopedia. It will get better at that. But it will not be what the Gurus and Apostles of AI are selling.

The true transformation path is slower and longer. Don’t be a Panican, don’t be a True Believer in what is not actually GOD. Stay the course.

TRUST TRUMP.

If Trump has a good solution to Demons and Panicans that he’s being quiet on, then this may be an opportunity.

I’m not worried. I’m not docking the ship. But I’m not breaking out the water skis! 😂

Andrew Kolvet
@AndrewKolvet
Elon Musk just left Joe Rogan absolutely STUNNED after explaining the real reason Dems refuse to open the government:

MUSK: The reason you have this standoff is because if the $ hundreds of billions to create a financial incentive to have this giant magnet to attract illegals from every part of Earth to these states, if that is turned off the illegals will leave because they’re no longer being paid to come to the U.S. and stay here.

ROGAN:🤯

MUSK: Then the Democrat Party will lose a lot of voters.

Bingo, Elon.

The Democrat Party cares about unfettered immigration to America more than any other issue because they want to import voters and dilute America’s traditional capitalistic European heritage.

Aubergine

Well, duh.

Doncha just love that because somebody famous says the same thing we’ve been over here screaming from the cheap seats for years, all of a sudden it’s a thing?

I see your point. me? I’m just happy it’s finally getting exposure.

And that dilution of American Values started with Chappaquiddick Ted and LBJ (of the not-so-great society and the shrooobs, not to mention the Vietnam War that was fought endlessly to not lose) and the Hart-Celler Act which flipped the immigration quotas so that Europeans were STRONGLY disfavored and limited and those from (and with) non-western, non-Judeo-Christian valued were both encouraged and rewarded to emigrate to the USA…

All this CR@P did NOT start with the Klint00ns, Øbløwhøle, Bye. Done., or even “the man who knew too much” Carter [remember all the nucular scientist hype back then]. It started with Hart-Celler, and went down from there, as it were…..

From the AI discussion above:

“Humans crushed every model. Even massive compute scaling barely helped.

The takeaway is wild.. today’s AIs don’t understand environments; they just pattern-match inside them.

They don’t explore strategically, revise beliefs, or run experiments like humans do.”

Channeling my inner Hotep:

Like I done been sayin.’

Wolf Moon

“Yes, but…..”

As I love to say, in science, your best teacher is errors, missed predictions, and identified problems. The BIG BLOCK in science is stuff like Fauci – refusal to look at the problems – the pretense that all is well. That is what actually stops progress.

In AI, the pretense is the overvaluation that pours from Sam Altman’s mouth, as he tries to sell AI as being just short of some revolutionary state, to pull in the investors. He is trying to keep the money flowing it – trying to keep a permanent state of overvaluation. It’s a working strategy, but it needs to fade back gently to reality, not in a crash.

Note the last sentence of the posted quotes….

The gap it reveals isn’t small it’s the next grand challenge in AI cognition.

I agree. IMO, however, the problem is soluble. There are multiple paths to multiple solutions. They will all take time over months, years, and even decades. Some of the best solutions will take centuries. I’m OK with all of that.

IMO the erroneous positions are that AI will go away, and that AI will achieve supremacy soon. My call to the latter would be that if you want supremacy, go to church. GOD is what you are looking for. But AI will not go away, and building architectures that support it is a fundamentally correct and productive position for those who want to advance intelligence.

Aubergine

AI will go where God wills it. If it’s God’s plan for the whole internet to crash and burn, it will.

All I know for sure is, there’s a plan, and I don’t control it.

patfrederick

free speech?

FTA

“Mayor Mamdani, will you welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu to NYC … given the U.S. is not signatory to the IC? Would a Mayor Mamdani welcome Benjamin Netanyahu to the city?” “No, as Mayor, NYC would arrest Benjamin Netanyahu. This is a city whose values are inline with international law, it’s time our actions are also.” “Even though the U.S. is not a signatory to the ICC.” “No, it’s time that we actually step up and make clear what we are willing to do to showcase the leadership that is sorely missing in the federal administration.”

Free speech is not absolute: there are guardrails when speech threatens, intimidates, and harasses, especially when it’s obviously not hyperbolic rhetoric but rather a cold, calculated, consistent, credible, and unmistakable threat. After watching the video, could there be any doubt as to Mamdani’s intent?

SCOTUS has a high bar for criminalizing speech: it must be speech that not only incites violence but must also produce imminent lawless action. However, do not confuse the Brandenburg v. Ohio standard on ordinary speech with threats. Threats need not incite immediate violence. In Virginia v. Black—the cross burning case—the standard was that a threat need only be a true threat: a serious expression of an intent to commit an unlawful act of violence.

However, true threats are not limited to threatening violence. In Planned Parenthood v. American Coalition of Life Activists, “wanted-style” posters targeting abortion doctors were held to be a criminal threat—intimidation itself was enough.

When foreign officials are involved, the same principles apply under 18 U.S.C. §112. Thus, in U.S.A. v. Glenn Glan, which involved throwing containers with paint at ambassadors—to humiliate, not injure—the Second Circuit ruled threats against diplomats were such that, “neither the plain language of §112(a) nor judicial construction of similar assault statutes requires proof of injury or intent to injure.”

Under 18 U.S.C. §112, Mamdani’s hatred for Israel has crossed over from mere rhetoric into criminality. “Whoever willfully intimidates, coerces, threatens, or harasses a foreign official or an official guest or obstructs a foreign official in the performance of his duties…shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”

Let’s understand why this is so important. In the late 1960s and mid-1970s, terror against diplomats had become the instrument of choice to undermine foreign relations. The Soviet embassy in DC and the Soviet Mission in NY were both bombed. In a synchronized attack, the Yugoslavian embassy in DC, and its consulates in Chicago, NY, and San Francisco, as well as locations in Canada, were all bombed. The Cuban and the Portuguese embassies in DC were both bombed. The Chilean Ambassador was assassinated by a car bomb in DC. Around the world, there were over 50 bombings or attacks on diplomatic missions during this period.

The nations that fell victim to these attacks were livid, claiming the United States had violated Article 22 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which the Senate had ratified, making it de facto U.S. law.

Ambassadorial violence ran in the other direction, too. America’s standing in the world was plummeting, as violence abroad soared. U.S. Ambassadors were killed in Guatemala, Argentina, Sudan, Cyprus, and Lebanon.

The need to protect foreign officials was not merely an act of law enforcement; it was a vital geopolitical necessity in an increasingly dangerous world.

Later, Congress was so worried that §112 would not be enforced that it passed 18 U.S.C. §878, which governs “Threats and extortion against foreign officials.” The statute armed Diplomatic Security Service agents and empowered them to make arrests (the DSS language later migrated to 22 U.S.C. §4803).

Clearly, threatening “internationally protected persons” —i.e., Benjamin Netanyahu—is not just against U.S. and international law. It is also an assault on the State Department, destabilizes global international relations, and puts American lives at risk.

The DOJ can get creative here. Mamdani not only threatened Netanyahu but, additionally, to prove it was no slip of the tongue but rather deadly serious—and to ensure Netanyahu saw it—he doubled down and posted the interview to his X account. 18 U.S.C.§875 (Interstate Communication) makes it a crime to threaten to kidnap a person over the internet.

By using the internet to threaten to arrest a foreign head of state without any lawful authority, Mamdani was, in substance, threatening an unlawful seizure and detention. Under federal law, that is indistinguishable from a threat to kidnap. While courts have traditionally limited § 875(c) to threats of physical injury or abduction, the DOJ could reasonably argue that Mamdani’s statements fall within its scope, particularly when paired with §112. Coincidentally, §875(c) comes with a five-year prison term, while the mayorship is four years.

Threats against internationally protected persons are not political theater. They are federal crimes that jeopardize U.S. treaty obligations and global security and must be punished. And the higher the profile of the prosecution, the greater the deterrent effect.

Pam Bondi, call your office.

Mamdani – classic sanctions boy – should be baited with sanctions suggestions – to let his full antisemitic threat to Jews surface! Let’s suggest that he arrest anybody who has ever said one kind thing about Bibi! That should cover most American Jews. He’ll love that one – or at least not throw out the idea!

Rand Paul wants you to be 70 Years old before you can collect social security, OR, raise everyone’s social security tax to 25% to keep it at 67.
The life expectancy for an American today is 78.4 years. So he wants Americans to enjoy only 8 years of peace (if they’re lucky) before they die.
All the money we’ve been putting into that social security pot over the decades… where the heck is it?

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

Verse of the Day for Saturday, November 1, 2025

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)

COMMENTARY FOR 1 PETER 5

“Elders exhorted and encouraged. (1-4) Younger Christians are to submit to their elders, and to yield with humility and patience to God, and to be sober, watchful, and stedfast in faith. (5-9) Prayers for their growth and establishment.” (10-14)

(5-9) “Humility preserves peace and order in all Christian churches and societies; pride disturbs them. Where God gives grace to be humble, he will give wisdom, faith, and holiness. To be humble, and subject to our reconciled God, will bring greater comfort to the soul than the gratification of pride and ambition. But it is to be in due time; not in thy fancied time, but God’s own wisely appointed time. Does he wait, and wilt not thou? What difficulties will not the firm belief of his wisdom, power, and goodness get over! Then be humble under his hand. Cast “all you care;” personal cares, family cares, cares for the present, and cares for the future, for yourselves, for others, for the church, on God. These are burdensome, and often very sinful, when they arise from unbelief and distrust, when they torture and distract the mind, unfit us for duties, and hinder our delight in the service of God. The remedy is, to cast our care upon God, and leave every event to his wise and gracious disposal. Firm belief that the Divine will and counsels are right, calms the spirit of a man. Truly the godly too often forget this, and fret themselves to no purpose. Refer all to God’s disposal. The golden mines of all spiritual comfort and good are wholly his, and the Spirit itself. Then, will he not furnish what is fit for us, if we humbly attend on him, and lay the care of providing for us, upon his wisdom and love? The whole design of Satan is to devour and destroy souls. He always is contriving whom he may insnare to eternal ruin. Our duty plainly is, to be sober; to govern both the outward and the inward man by the rules of temperance. To be vigilant; suspicious of constant danger from this spiritual enemy, watchful and diligent to prevent his designs. Be stedfast, or solid, by faith. A man cannot fight upon a quagmire, there is no standing without firm ground to tread upon; this faith alone furnishes. It lifts the soul to the firm advanced ground of the promises, and fixes it there. The consideration of what others suffer, is proper to encourage us to bear our share in any affliction; and in whatever form Satan assaults us, or by whatever means, we may know that our brethren experience the same.”

Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

BUT GOD KNOWS

We do not know what tomorrow will bring
In reality we are not sure of anything
We close our eyes give way to sleep
There is no guarantee not even a peep

We say good-night to those we love
Entrust our rest to God above
Who knows the beginning from the end
Our entire life it is He who penned

Our days are full of challenges we know not
The what when why and how the outcome naught
As we awaken to a brand new day
It is God who is there to guide our way

It is He who brings light into our lives
It is we who strive and trustingly thrives
It is He who shows us the path the way
Who unconditionally loves us everyday

It is He who gave us our free will choice
It is He who gave us His grace to voice
Our decisions be they right or wrong
Will determine our stance weak or strong

Will we give in to temptation and quit
Will we be weak and meek not give a whit
Will we be strong and fight the good fight
Or will we be tempted to just take flight

We have no insight into what might come
We have no idea what direction from
If our lives are justified through others
If our needs are fulfilled by another’s

If we live each day in the last place
Will we ever be first in any case
Will we finally learn to love ourselves
Or leave our desires on the shelves

In every phase of life on earth
What we do will prove our worth
How we adjust to the highs and lows
Will determine which way our life goes

When stuck in a rut of sorrow and woe
We really have no direction to go
We haven’t asked God what He wants us to do
We are simply comfortable in feeling blue

We grieve our situation and that’s ok
He would not want it any other way
We seem to think we will figure it out
All on our own mind you we have no doubt

But God knows and He will wait for you
He’ll show you daily what He wants you to do
Signs and wonders before you displayed
All in the balance come forth to be weighed

Love one another is what you must do
Love one another as He has loved you
Listen to the clues He provides you each day
Being true to yourself is the only way

Now is the time to spread your wings
To set your sights on universal things
You might have no idea what that means
But God Knows what He put in your genes

HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY !!!  ❤️❤️❤️

bakocarl

To fill the buster . . .
Or not to fill the buster.
Some clarification (if needed).

Fillybuster or not?

BC: From what I read, a vote in the Senate to eliminate the filibuster will only take a majority vote to pass . . . not a super majority. But, I also read that the vote to retain or remove the filibuster can be filibustered itself and held hosted to a 60 vote requirement. Please clarify.

GROK: You’re correct on both points, but the key to understanding this lies in the distinction between two paths for eliminating (or reforming) the filibuster in the U.S. Senate: a direct rules change versus the “nuclear option.” I’ll break it down step by step for clarity.

1. The Filibuster Basics
•         The filibuster allows senators to delay or block legislation (or nominations) by extending debate indefinitely.
•         To end a filibuster and force a vote (via “cloture”), the Senate needs 60 votes (three-fifths of all senators).
•         This 60-vote threshold is set by Senate Rule XXII, which governs debate and cloture.

2. Eliminating the Filibuster: The Simple Majority Path (Nuclear Option)
•         Yes, the filibuster can be eliminated with just a simple majority vote (51 votes, or 50 plus the vice president’s tiebreaker).
•         This is done through the nuclear option, a procedural workaround established as Senate precedent in 2013 (for nominations) and expanded in 2017.
•         How it works: The majority leader raises a “point of order” during debate on a bill or nomination, arguing that cloture should only require a majority vote (not 60). The presiding officer (usually the vice president) rules against it. The majority then appeals the ruling, and a simple majority vote overrides it—effectively changing the rule’s interpretation without a full debate.
•         This motion is “nondebatable,” meaning it can’t be filibustered itself.
It’s a high-stakes move because it sets a new precedent, but it’s been used successfully multiple times.

3. The Catch: Direct Rules Changes Can Be Filibustered
•         If the Senate tries to eliminate the filibuster the “straightforward” way—by directly amending Rule XXII—the motion to do so can be filibustered.
•         In that case, ending the filibuster on the rules change itself would require a supermajority for cloture: traditionally two-thirds of senators present and voting (often around 67 votes if all 100 are present).

4. In Practice
•         The nuclear option is the realistic path for a determined majority—it’s how Democrats lowered the cloture threshold from two-thirds to 60 votes in 1975, and how both parties have chipped away at the filibuster for nominations.
•         Full elimination for all legislation remains politically risky (hence the “nuclear” label), but it’s been discussed recently amid government shutdown threats.

In short: A majority can kill the filibuster via the nuclear option without needing 60 votes, but a direct vote on the rules would face a filibuster (requiring a supermajority to overcome).

The Mystery of Transplanted Consciousness: When Organs Transfer More Than FunctionExploring the Profound Evidence That Memories, Personalities, and Skills Can Transfer from Donor to Recipient

Interesting…..

Could we suppose this might account for the mood swings of the ancient Deep Staters like Pelosi? She’s probably had a few illegal transplants to keep her in Congress all this time.

Gudthots

I’d go straight from alcohol influence to demonic influence, maybe with some transplant influence on the side.

I can see it if it is heart transplant because of the head heart connection. The heart the second brain 😉

I have long believed that human DNA is where our Creator hangs out. Makes sense that it stores lots of info in there as well.

Good morning, C&C, it’s Saturday! It’s also November, and you know what that means: Blink and it will be Christmas. Your Weekend Edition roundup (slightly truncated due to a late bedtime for the spooktacular holiday yesterday) includes: SNAP benefits snapped off this morning even though two federal judges ordered the money train to continue down the welfare tracks; surprising change in status of rap music in the Billboard Top 40; P. Diddy sentenced to prison and dot connections; and help for Nigeria’s persecuted Christians begins finally to assemble for duty.

Bix Weir – Epstein Connection To The Financial Institutions Much Bigger Than People Realize,Endgame
https://x22report.com/aiovg_videos/bix-weir-epstein-connection-to-the-financial-institutions-much-bigger-than-people-realizeendgame/

Today’s Guest: Bix Weir
Website: Road To Roota
http://roadtoroota.com

According to Bix Weir of Road to Roota, the United States has been on a covert path back to the constitutional gold and silver standard since the 1981 Gold Commission, a secret initiative under Ronald Reagan to dismantle the fiat money scam and restore sound money as mandated by the Constitution. Weir decodes the Federal Reserve’s cryptic 1981 comic “Wishes and Rainbows,” re-released in 2007, as a roadmap—”The Road to Roota”—outlining the transition from “Grey Flowers” (fiat currency) to “Colorland” (a redeemable gold-backed system), complete with hidden U.S. gold reserves in places like the Grand Canyon to fuel the reset. He argues this plan accelerates under figures like Donald Trump, who is leveraging massive undisclosed gold stashes to collapse the manipulated markets and implement a new gold/silver coin standard via the U.S. Mint, where silver could skyrocket to match gold at a 1:1 ratio, freeing Americans from endless inflation and debt slavery. Central to this liberation is abolishing the Federal Reserve, the “BIG player” Weir identifies as the root of global economic hatred toward the West, with its computer-driven manipulations since Alan Greenspan’s era propping up a dying fiat blip; Trump, per Weir, is crashing the [CB] system through engineered chaos, paving the way for constitutional money where every citizen can redeem notes for physical gold and silver, ending the Fed’s reign and restoring true freedom.

Weir’s scathing exposés paint JP Morgan Chase as the epicenter of silver market rigging, with CEO Jamie Dimon—derisively dubbed “Jamie Demon” for his demonic role in financial crimes—leading a cabal that has suppressed silver prices through massive COMEX shorts and derivative slams, all while cashing out ahead of the inevitable squeeze that could drain their “house silver” vaults dry. This manipulation ties directly to Epstein Island scandals, where Weir reveals JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank facilitated the financier’s criminal network, enabling cash flows for trafficking that intertwined elite bankers like Dimon with the island’s depravities; exposing Epstein’s client list, including Dimon’s inner circle, would unleash uncontrollable silver demand as the rigged system’s veils tear away, crushing the bullion banks and vindicating Weir’s long-warned “Silver Alert” for a monetary rebellion.

Judge Delivers Blow to Letitia James in Mortgage Fraud Case

A federal judge on Friday denied Letitia James’ request to force federal prosecutors to turn over all of their communications with the media after it was reported that Lindsey Halligan was exchanging text messages with a Lawfare reporter.

A couple of weeks ago, US Attorney Lindsey Halligan exchanged Signal messages with Lawfare reporter Anna Bower.

It is not unusual for a prosecutor to communicate with the press.

Lindsey Halligan pushed back on Anna Bower’s reporting in her exchange.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” the first message to Anna Bower read. “You are reporting things that are simply not true. Thought you should have a heads up.”

Click here to see the screenshots of Halligan’s Signal exchange with Anna Bower…

Letitia James asked Judge Walker to force the DOJ to keep a log of all communications with the press.

The judge delivered a blow to Letitia James.

Judge Jamar Walker, a Biden appointee, said Letitia James did not demonstrate that it is necessary for the court to force the DOJ to track communications with the media.

The New York Post reported:

The judge overseeing Letitia James’ mortgage fraud case on Friday denied a motion from the New York attorney general attempting to force federal prosecutors to keep a log of all their communications with the media.

Defense attorney Abbe Lowell filed the motion last week, when James was arraigned on bank fraud and false statements charges, in response to a report that US Attorney Lindsey Halligan sent a flurry of encrypted Signal messages about the case to a reporter.

“[T]he defendant does not demonstrate that it is necessary for the Court to order the government to track communications with the media in any particular form,” US District Judge Jamar Walker wrote in his six-page order.

“The defendant’s request that the government be required to keep a communication log is DENIED,” the Biden-appointed judge ruled.

Walker noted that Halligan’s Signal chat with Lawfare senior editor Anna Bower earlier this month was “unusual” but he declined to offer an opinion “on whether they were improper in any sense, either legal or ethical.”

EVENING PRAYERS

Healing Prayers

Prayer for Restorative Rest

Healing Hand, as I lay in my bed this evening, I pray for Your restorative power to touch my life. Mend what has been broken, soothe what has been hurt, and heal what has been wounded. May I find in sleep the healing that my body and spirit need and wake to a day of renewed health and vitality. Amen.

Evening Prayer for Wholeness

Gentle Healer, with the night’s calm, I seek Your healing for my body, mind, and soul. Where there is pain, bring relief; where there is fatigue, bring restoration; where there is distress, bring tranquility. Wrap me in Your peace as I trust in Your loving care to make me whole. Amen.

Prayer for Comfort in Illness

Lord of Comfort, as I face the trials of illness, I pray for Your healing touch. Ease my discomfort, calm my anxiety, and deliver me from my afflictions. In Your mercy, may I find the comfort that leads to a peaceful rest, knowing that You are with me, sustaining and healing me. Amen.

Nighttime Blessing for Healing

Divine Physician, under the canopy of the night sky, I pray for Your healing blessings. Let Your life-giving energy flow through every cell, every nerve, every aspect of my being. May my rest be deep, my healing complete, and my faith in Your power absolute. Bless me with the gift of health, and let my gratitude be a testament to Your mercy. Amen.

Serene Prayer for Recovery

Merciful Restorer, as I seek repose in the stillness of this night, I ask for Your healing hand upon my life. Guide the hands of those who care for me, provide wisdom for the paths of recovery, and grant patience for the journey. In this serene hour, let Your comfort envelop me, as I place my trust in Your plan for a full recovery. Amen.

Thinking the new Tesla is going to be pretty amazing.

Aubergine

But it’ll still be electric.

Wolf Moon

True! But if it performs as needed, it performs as needed.

If I’m right, it almost has to be electric.

Aubergine

Lol. I know.

I live in Montana. If they can make an electric vehicle that will travel across the state before needing a recharge, maybe I would think it was cool. But it’s a LONG way from Libby to Glasgow!

Aubergine

If they caught motherfuckers targeting kids, then they need to get the death penalty. No screwing around on this one.

Aubergine

Agreed. I’ve had about enough of the secrecy around these kinds of things. The public needs to know. The government should stop trying to protect certain groups of people.

We could end the filibuster, do what we had to do, and then put it back on.

In the process of putting it back on, we could add a two-thirds requirement to remove it in the future.

Just saying. 😉

As far as Japan is concerned, there is that memory of us kicking the shit out of them not too long ago. Just saying.

And just to be accurate, Israel doesn’t share everything with us. They have F-16s that they won’t let our guys near even though we made them.

IOW, they have upgrades they keep to themselves.

Except what kind of military assistance could Japan ever offer us, push come to shove?

Aubergine

Thanks. That’s more than I would have thought.

During the Iraq War, the last truck in a convoy had a warning sign on the back. IIRC, it warned that the penalty for following too closely was … death.

Recycle those signs for the White House.

President Trump is coming in HOT on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria!

He seems VERY serious about wanting it to stop:

“President Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday to tell the War Department to prepare for possible military action if the Nigerian government did not stop the slaughter of Christians.”

Trump Ended 100 Years of British Control, Will 2026 Undo It All?

In this episode, Susan Kokinda discusses Mark Carney’s admission that the globalist world order has ended, highlighting Donald Trump’s significant breakthroughs in Asia that sidestepped the British Imperial system.

Kokinda emphasizes that Trump’s greatest challenge lies not abroad but within the U.S., where many Republicans fail to grasp or oppose his economic nationalism. She details the key deals Trump made in Asia, his strategy against the global elite, and the necessity for a new Republican coalition that supports his vision.

Kokinda calls for support and education through Promethean Action to build this coalition and secure Trump’s accomplishments against domestic and international resistance.

Thank you so much!

The AMA has an entire SECTION of the organization devoted to AI and its uses in healthcare.

Oh, and by the way, the AMA has given Artificial Intelligence a new name — AUGMENTED INTELLIGENCE. That way, AI can be implemented into every nook and cranny of healthcare with the “veneer” that the HUMAN clinician is going to “oversee” what the AI programs come up with. Yeah. Really. Sort of like the FDA is going to approve future COVID-19 “vaccines” that are created in Petri-dishes using “templates” that are created by AI-driven algorithms. Yeah. Really.

Here’s the AMA’s statement on AI uses in healthcare:

And, here’s the PDF issued by the AMA to its members regarding using AI:
