My abuser was the Treasurer of the Church at the time. It also happens with equal regularity on both the north and south side of the tracks. The north side is just way better at hiding it.

Little secret about stem cell research: scientists have been at it trying to use embryonic stem cells to cure disease for over seventy years. On the news this morning was a college student whining about having to work 18 hours a week, while taking classes 5 days a week and he was still going to come of college with loads of debt. boohoo Then some numbnuts in PA government (maybe the governor who knows I was seeing red at that point) said everybody should go to college for free in PA. And they are going to tap the natural gas industry to pay for it. (You know how that will work out–they tax natural gas, the price raises for everyone else.) So in effect i will be paying for this kid to go to school for free. (Hubby and I already put our 2 children thru college.)
Here’s the thing: I won a merit scholarship in high school but turned it down because I really didn’t want to go to college at that point. But many years later, I did–so I put myself thru college. I was working 40 hours a week to support myself and my child, went to school 4 nights a week and oh yeah, did I mention I also had a child? These delicate kids these days expect everything to be easy–they want to work for nothing—gimme gimme gimme.
Seems we are raising kids these days with too much wishbone and not enough backbone.

Agreed. I walked away from high school with an incredible scholarship to Tulane, but it wasn’t quite enough and wicked stepmother thought I needed to go to typing school, instead. She made the decision 3 weeks before classes started. I wrote a hot check for a City College to enroll and waited another 2 weeks to get another check to buy books. I moved out at the end of the semester. Five cities, 5 colleges and 14 years later, I ended up with three undergrad degrees. Worked the whole way through.
In retrospect, it set a good example for my stepchildren.

I agree…I bought myself some textbooks to learn Spanish and I am trying to learn guitar–I love to learn just about anything. That being said, there are too many “professional students” these days who fear life so much they try to stay in school and rack up more debt.
Wolfie, I felt kind of reassured in a weird way by reading your opening post. Why? Because I had been thinking today that I’m feeling all Cloward-Pivened. That if you look close you might even see their boot prints on my forehead.
I thought I was all red-pilled when we elected PDJT. The last two years have taught me I only saw, ahem, the “tippy tops” of things. I honestly believed that by electing PDJT things would get better. Instead, they seem to be getting worse all the time. I think that is at least partially because so much has been revealed to us that we didn’t know before so it all looks a lot worse, and part of it may be the retrenching of a wounded and angry enemy. (Think the Battle of the Bulge.)
In some ways of course it is truly getting worse. This infanticide cause that the Commies have embraced suddenly is just unspeakable. The crap is raining down so hard and fast we need an umbrella to protect our heads. The rapidly intensifying attack on Christianity, the border crisis, South America, opioids, the ongoing coup, discovering the FBI is really the Gestapo, voter fraud, and on and on.
There is so much that it is overwhelming to everyone. Where do we even start to try to stop this insanity and begin to clean it up? They have truly overloaded every single system and now they are using that system overload to paralyze us, divide us, scare us, anger us. Everywhere we look there is Roger Stone getting hauled out of his home with probably a million dollars in tactical man power and equipment wasted, or the Governor of a State talking quite casually and even eagerly about killing babies, or learning Nellie Ohr had her bony fingers and long nose firmly in DJT Jr. and Ivanka’s travels, or the DNI is contradicting the President on foreign policy agenda issues, more non citizens registered to vote, let’s eliminate the electoral college, and on and on and on.
Okay. So. First step is to draw a deep breath and understand this is planned. Classic Cloward and Piven. But we choose how we react.
So far, for me, I’ve decided that I need to step up my prayer warrior game. My first act today was to pray for all of us in the Q Tree and elsewhere who are fighting for MAGA that we may be blessed with encouragement and comfort and the strength to keep on fighting and that the Holy Spirit guides our actions so we can be effective in whatever role we are playing in this war.

As I have said before, the overall general psyche of the American citizen simply cannot comprehend such evil. An excellent analogy. I don’t think any of us had any idea what we were facing. Some of us saw and understood bits and pieces of the mess, but when you stand back and see how vast and how deep The Swamp is, and on how many fronts this war is being fought it really is huge.
It is quite obvious to me that the only way we win this thing is if it is God’s will for that to happen. So I keep trying to remind myself to let it go, leave the planning to Him and to trust.
Out here in the trenches we all have our roles to play and all we can do is carry on and trust in God to handle it while we do what is before us to do.

It was quite a day, and it turned out to be the right day as the firestorm hit about what the rabid abortionists are all about. Pray that we not only reveal their agenda, but can stop it.
As the day wore on, I finally had a mini-Moonpie with a glass of milk. It was one of those moments of stress eating. 🙂
