I was driving my kiddo around looking for alpacas and oyher critters and we found a sheep ranch with 4 sheep dogs we could see. They immediately called out and let us know they wete in charge. In Ireland we saw lots of sheep dogs and boy if they didnt stay on task theyd get in trouble.

She chose a termination under General anaesthetic withe the baby killed by a digoxin injection prior to removal. She said she couldn’t bear to carry it to term, give birth and watch it die in front of her. She’s never stopped grieving but believes she made the right decision. She was 20 weeks. I think that counts as exceptional circumstances. The autopsy on the foetus confirmed that it would not have survived birth and no surgical or medical treatment would change that.
Your friend does fall into the category of the rare and exceptional circumstances, and 20 weeks is mid-way through the 2nd trimester, not the third. It’s obvious your friend wanted the baby, and grieved its loss.

I never was a Vegan but was a vegetarian for 15 years. Looking back it taught me how to cook better and more diverse. At the time I also bought organic food still do.
My kids still do not eat much meat but focus on vegetable fruits and grain.
When I grew up we did not eat much meat maybe on Sunday. Americans eat lots of meat maybe to much..?
I eat meat but in moderation eat fish and sardines and herring and no lunchmeat. My downfall is cheese good cheese…:).

Also you can raise food (animals) on land that is too steep, too rocky, or too poor to sustain veggie farming.
Taking a poor worn out field and turning it into pasture both raises food and rehibilitates the land.

She brought her daughter, who only ate certain things.
They were here for over a week.
By the end of their visit, she was eating normally, and HAPPY.

I have 6 children! I grew up with 5 siblings, I have been lectured for having so many children in the past and my reply has always been “I will never be lonely in my dotage” can you say the same? Even in the late 1950s/early 1960s, families were starting to see the problem of the mother leaving the home, in order to work, so that “all of the conveniences of modern life” could be bought; two cars, maybe a boat, swimming pool, and, of course, a raft of labor-saving appliances, because no one had the time anymore to do anything by hand. And, coupled with this, packaged foods (culminating in the “TV Dinner”), taking away the need for home preparation and the time required for shopping and cooking from scratch. I think that’s when the domestic “battle of the bulge” began, for a waist is a terrible thing to mind…
Vance Packard explored this, and other manipulations, in his books of the 1950s and 1960s, for instance “The Wastemakers”, “The Naked Society”, and “The Hidden Persuaders”… He was far ahead of his time in calling this out.

As prosperity hit Germany in the mid fifty – sixty many women went to work and people scaled back having children. Materialism took over and now everyone wanted a car, TV 6 week l vacation to some exotic place.
Germany is very hierarchical and states conscious. One might say they believe what they have is who they are. My conclusions materialism brought birthrate down. One needs to question what is a better life..?

In Germany we’ve become more of a Spaßgesellschaft (“live to party, party to live”) rather than the older, authoritarian society we once were. Equally bad, but of a different nature. “Kids take too much time and money”, so pets have become the new “children”. This is starting to change, though, as “Generation Z” is popping up over here, and seeing everything go down the drain, and what’s left getting hoovered up by the Moslems and their abundant (and abusive) progeny.

This is a long read but touches on a number of unsettling aspects of the tech industry pushing us in an authoritarian direction – who stands to benefit and why.
Good article, but it starts with the computer age of the Silicon Valley, beginning in the 1970s (one might use the default UniX date of 1.1.1970 as their base). The prior two generations of silicon valley icons, dating back to the 1930s (Bill, Dave, Gene, Russ, et. al.) were HARDWARE development engineers, and, in the case of Bill and Dave, at least, the transistor and ICs didn’t exist, so their creations were with tubes (valves) and discrete wiring as opposed to printed circuits. The realm of computing was basically not far removed from Herman Hollerith and his loom and census equipment, with only rudimentary computers (Eniac, Illiac, etc.) taking shape a decade or so after the valley started to take form (and leave the realm of orchards and farms).
The valley has migrated to firms with no tangible product (hence “information technology”), Perhaps this lack of substance also applies to the current “leaders” in the valley, with their empty souls and lack of moral compasses…

Too bad Bongino didn’t think a little more about the information he sat on regarding Ralph Northam. That was an easy “verify” – though he claimed he couldn’t.
I agree, but I also think it was the Virginia GOP organisation that should have used the information, assuming they also had it.
It was really their responsibility, not Bongino’s, to bring it to light.
That said, if I had been Bongino, I would have passed the info on to them, saying ‘I can’t verify this. It was sent to me, so I’m relaying it to you. It’s your campaign, and you’re closer to the situation.’
I have no problem about the VA GOP’s culpability in this, if they had the info. As dumb as it sounds, Gillespie’s campaign team might not have done their homework, and it’s also possible that IF they had the info, 1) kept it from Gillespie, or 2) he tends to be too much of that old-school Southern gentleman, and wouldn’t use it.
I know my thoughts about Bongino aren’t popular, but I can’t stress how serious this is for us here in Virginia. It absolutely would have made a difference in several Congressional seats in Nov. 2018. There is something that just leaves a bad taste in our mouths here who know what’s going on in VA politics. That’s the kind of news several factions were guilty in covering up – the conspiracy.
As I find out more, I’ll share it, but Bongino wasn’t on my highly regarded list before – they lose a lot when they hit the bigtime media circuit, and we see him as a culprit in what happened. 🙁
It would have been better if he said nothing about having known – and I think he did out himself because… someone knew he knew! And it would have come out.
Virginia needs a GOP activist who can dig dirt as well as Scott Presler can activate the base there, that’s for sure.
Incidentally, I checked his Twitter account to see if he tweeted about Bongino’s info, but he hadn’t.
If you know Scott (IIRC you’ve met?), I’d get in touch with him about this subject — and about reforming the GOP in your state.
I understand how critical this is, but, ultimately, if the state GOP organisation **wants** to win elections there, then they have to change their ways.
Right. There’s a function next week where I hope to see him – he’s hard to get hold of. His big focus is on registering voters, and that’s a bit of a different path. There is someone I plan to ask about our situation in general. But his group and goals don’t focus on this and that’s likely why he didn’t say anything. He is also doing a lot of out of state work.

If the picture was researched and came to light, Northam almost assuredly would have lost. Down ballot may have gone R.
Bongino had easy options for the win. Research himself or his close associates do so. Or share with trusted investigative “journalist” to validate it. Trusted or not, Loomer would have aggressively pursued the picture for the win.
But, Bongino wussed and effectively painted his ethics superficial. His show motto, “not immune to the facts”. barf

After they have heard 200 interviews and pored through 300,000 documents (according to Dilanian’s report), such a verdict would appear to be accurate.
The Republicans seemed to be sure, but the Democrats wanted their say. The Dems agree — on the whole — but say that there are some things of which they are not certain, such as other alleged channels Trump has with Russia.
That said, both parties broadly agree that there is unlikely to have been any collusion for the election result.

This is another attempt to harm the US economy, and it is simply a variation on the machinations that led to the 2008 crash.
Without going into too much detail, I saw the 2008 meltdown coming from a mile away. Under the altruistic banner of expanding home ownership, lenders were coerced into making loans that were unsound. In addition to political pressure ginned up by community organizers (guess who), the plan entailed pressure from Bubba’s administration using banking regulators to threaten lenders who practiced “redlining” (refusing to make loans on real estate in areas where risks from crime, low incomes and social breakdown drastically increased their default risk).
The problem with seeking to do this is that the financial statements of banks need to reflect the risks inherent in their loans (through loan loss reserves and whatnot). Accordingly, there is a limit to what political and social pressure can do to increase loans to people who cannot qualify on their own.
Guarantees from Fannie and Freddie fueled part of the pre-2008 bubble, but things really got supercharged when the use of exotic financial instruments allowed lenders to slice up mortgages and sell them off piecemeal resulting in income for originating the mortgage, but offloading the repayment risk. Regulators, debt rating agencies and outside auditors were all neutered in the quest to enable these instruments to undergird massive mortgage lending increases.
Our regulators, financial institutions and the feds gave us the impression that if the music stopped the investors who held the exotic instruments would incur the losses. We were misled into believing that this risk of loss would ensure that they would act prudently in deciding whether to invest.
What actually happened was that European Central Banks invested heavily in these instruments in the belief that the US would back them even though the purchase agreements for the instruments stated they would bear this risk. When the music stopped and Treasury said well let the holders of the mortgage backed securities take their lumps (i.e. when Lehman Brothers was allowed to fail), they called up Treasury and said something to the effect that “if you make us take our lumps, all of Europe will go bankrupt.” And so we bailed out the banks.
The moral of the story is that no matter how enticing is the objective of the lending, you don’t want to be the bearer of a risk that a lender who is in the business of making loans won’t undertake.
Somewhere I read that the bankers knew the day would come when the crash would happen, just not when. I wonder if that is really true, or if it was designed to happen the year it did and right before a presidential election, too.
What triggered it in 2008, DP, was the sudden spike in Oil Prices.

All of a sudden, gas prices went sky high.
Commuters with big mortgage pymts were faced with having to pour money into their tanks…just to get to work.
It busted a lot of people’s budgets.
They had to choose between getting to work…or paying their mortgage pymts.
The number of mortgage defaults drastically increased.

We’re seeing it over here. There’s a graphic that shows that as the percentage of Moslem population increases, the activity in government and demonstrations and insurrection and the like grows disproportionately larger. An enormous “tail wagging the dog” effect.
We’re seeing it in our city. A “house of prayer” opened up about five years ago, in an industrial area (so as to be inconspicuous, and, supposedly, innocuous). Little by little, noisy disturbances have been growing, Moslems have been canvassing the neighborhoods looking for properties to purchase/rent, etc., and gradually they are looking to build a circle of Moslem-owned properties and businesses around their “hub”.
Fortunately, the hometown Germans here are having none of it, and, being woke, are pushing back. My wife’s family have lived here (or nearby) for the last 1200 years, and aren’t about to jump up to some invasion. Indeed, they didn’t the last two times…
The time to stop these Sharia $#!theads is before they even get to five percent of the local population.
Less than two percent would be even better. For a wedge has a very thin, almost unnoticeable point, but once that point has breached, the remainder of the wedge is difficult to stop…

Here is the state of play on the border security package.
House Democrats will whip the vote tonight and get a sense of how many Democrats will support the package. Fox is told there is a “churn” among members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus who may oppose the package
Some CHC’er are up in the air about the border package. But I would note that Reps. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), Henry Cuellar (D-TX) and Pete Aguilar (D-CA) are all CHC members and are conferees.
Dems will whip the border security vote tonight. Democrats will then go to Republicans and indicate if Democrats can haul the freight on their own or if they need GOP support. House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) indicates Democrats will likely reach out tonight.
Here is the current breakdown in the House
House:
432 members
235 Democrats to 197 Republicans. That means Democrats can only lose 18 of their own without needing GOP help on border security pkg. Nineteen losses produces a tie, which by rule, fails in the House.
On border pkg, one senior Democratic source tells me “we’re not nervous” about the vote tomorrow night. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) tells Fox “I think we’re going to do well” when asked how many Democrats would support the plan.
Democrats may need Republicans to support the border security package to lug it across the finish line.
“The margin for error is more narrow than they think it is,” observed one knowledgeable Congressional source.
There is concern the Freedom Caucus could try to rev up Trump to discourage him signing the border pkg. That’s what happened in December..and nearly happened last March.
“We have have seen before makes us worry about that possibility,” said Hoyer.
There is also some question as to whether the House or Senate will vote first. We have been told for days the House would start. But we are hearing tonight the Senate could start. Hoyer says no decision has been made yet on that front.

Well here in SC at Vital Statistics Office in Columbia, you can obtain a photo copy of a death certificate (birth is a little trickier as you have to show you are related) at a nominal cost (it’s not the ‘official’ copy needed for insurance or banks). I did genealogy for decades and have obtained copies of many.

i sincerely am sorry for any offense taken – and for the lack of complete details in my post there. what happened was i saw the post – i saw the name of the center melania was going to visit – the name was close to the name of a non profit involved in something my daughter took part in last weekend which i looked at and they were involved with questionable ties and i mentioned it to my daughter.
so what happened here, i saw the post, i recognized the name format, i looked it up but posted here quickly with that thought because i am also working right now and i have been multi tasking and i was not fully able to look it up – i could have waited and got all the notes together – but i just wanted to throw it out and possibly others might want to have a look at it also out of curiosity.
i have since posted with more detail about what i was seeing.
i believe that one of the times i mentioned something like this i believe i also caused you to disagree with me, and that is fine. i had just simply done some digging around and saw some things that alarmed me.
i guess, for example, if you do not support planned parenthood, you do not give them donations and you do not support their activities. but at the same time if you support an institution that is partnered with planned parenthood whether that is acceptable or not would be a question every person must ask themselves.

“The Office of Special Counsel (OSC) made its determination that the defendant made false statements and thereby breached the plea agreement in good faith,” Jackson wrote. “Therefore, the Office of Special Counsel is no longer bound by its obligations under the plea agreement, including its promise to support a reduction of the offense level in the calculation of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines for acceptance of responsibility.”

California reminds me of my first husband’s family. They were always poor. But once I had an opportunity to see how they spent money, it quickly dawned on me they would always be poor. There wasn’t enough money in the world. They had no clue how to manage their resources wisely.

I was at the store today and saw new gardening decor which included a cute decorative shovel…just what every patio needs to ornament it properly! I giggled, but I restrained myself from purchasing it.
Here in ca, an6thing you carry as leo must be dept approved. Guns have to be within dept specification and you have to qualify at the range. Batons are dept specific, as are handcuffs, pepper spray, etc. Now you can carry a knife as leo that public cannot, same as larger magazine, but just some hammer you picked up? Not a chance.

According to FOX News Majority Leader Mitch McConnell accused Democrats of adding “poison pill” provisions into the deal. One of those provisions allows small town mayors to veto any part of a wall built in their specific jurisdictions.
President Trump has not seen the final package yet.

It’s looking as if the Dems really didn’t intend to give Pres. Trump any money for the wall. It’s all smoke and mirrors. They want a series of sanctuary cities along the border with no wall and no prosecution, which would negate the rest of the wall because people would just pour in at those points.
These are life-and-death issues, and the Dems are on the side of death, as usual.

The other point that needs mentioning is that they reduced ICE detention beds to 40,000. We’re at 47 or 49,000 now. So that’s an automatic release of thousands into the country. ICE had requested an increase to 52,000. Catch and release 2.0. Oh and btw, ICE detains the CRIMNALS!! Regular “immigrants” go to shelters.
