My counsel to everyone who reads this, listens to what I say, or gives a sh!t what I do, last nights victory was historic (YES!), but as in warfare, this was only the beginning of the long slog to achieving total victory. The best analogy is that we have seized the beachhead and have broken through the hedgerows into Normandy. I want everyone to understand, we have not achieved a “VE Day”, we are more like D-DAY+1. We have our beachhead, the troops are arriving in strength, with determined purpose, and a clear mandate. But now the real work of rooting out the evil infestation really begins. Removing the infiltrators, the bureaucratic systems and processes that infect decision making and do nothing to protect the safety and security of the American people along with many bureaucrats who wish nothing but ill will to our arriving troops. My friends, next up is election fraud exposure. That is what will be the “lead in” to the justice phase we have all longed for. I’m betting the Justice System takes the lead on this during Trump’s short time as president-elect. I think lawsuits are coming that will unravel the entire corrupt fraud. The enemy desperately wants to just move on. We are now able to compare data from three different elections and trust me, we aren’t moving on. That would never be allowed to happen. Knowingly conspiring to steal federal elections across the country, is treason. Treason opens the door to changing everything. That’s the whole point of all of this.

Teaching my 5th grade grandson about the Constitution with his homeschool curriculum. They did a good job of going into the representative republic explanation. Talk about opening doors into a child’s mind. Perfect timing with the election going on – almost as if God planned it. 😀 Seeds of liberty being planted in a young man’s mind.

So we jumped into the preamble. Right off the bad he spotted “We the People”… I explained that meant the people in government worked for us, that he was the boss. His eyes lit up and attention to the study accelerated.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

It was a representation of part of a larger written (email) discussion I had with our preacher.

I didn’t look up the original email to copy and paste it, I know the argument because it’s all based on fundamental principles, so all you need is Romans 13:1-7 and a brief section of the Declaration of Independence to present the argument:

I like to do it from scratch most of the time anyway, because sometimes I come up with a better way to express something, and because it’s fun to think the arguments through as you present them anyway.

Any Christian who is stuck in the Matrix is likely to lead with Romans 13:1-7 to argue that we should do whatever our ‘rulers’ say, unless we are instructed to do something specifically in violation of God’s Word.

If we lived in a monarchy, it would be more difficult — but certainly not impossible to argue otherwise, because even a monarch is without authority to violate our God-given rights. We can go to the Magna Carta if needed. I would just have to refresh my memory, since I haven’t had to do it in a while 😁

But we (Americans) don’t live in a monarchy, so the argument is much simpler.

So that’s where I always want to start, with their best and strongest argument (Romans 13:1-7), and then pull back, to show the bigger picture, to reveal a larger perspective and the necessary context that comes with it.

So I ask them if Romans 13:1-7 is still Authoritative to this day, which of course it is, and because I know they will say “yes”.

And if Romans 13:1-7 is operative and Authoritative, which I fully agree it is, then should must we not give America back to England?

If not, why not?

The answer to that question helps to understand Romans 13:1-7 as it applies to our Constitutional Republic, which to my knowledge, is unique in the world.

I am just about certain they (most preachers) have never thought about it that way before. I don’t know why not, because it was one of the first things that occurred to me, because contradictions are like shiny objects. They jump out.

In America we don’t have ‘rulers’ in the sense that most of the world (and most of world history) uses the term ‘rulers’.

In America, We the People are the highest Authority, and that makes We the People the ‘rulers‘.

Literally. That’s how our entire country was founded, and how our Founding Documents are explicitly written. Whether we are currently following them properly (or not) is a separate matter.

In 2 Kings, chapter 22, Hilkiah the High Priest found the (previously lost) Book of the Law in the House of the LORD, and gave it to Shaphan the scribe, who in turn took it to King Josiah and read it to him.

“And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.

[12] And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king’s, saying,

[13] Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.” (2 Kings 22:11-13, KJV)

So clearly the principle is established that just because men are not following the Law, does not mean they should continue in that error, once they become aware of it.

And this makes perfect sense. If we are not aware of something, how can we follow it? But if we become aware of something, and it has proper Authority, then we ought to make correction and follow it.

If we discover that the Constitution and other Founding Documents of our nation are not being followed properly, should we not likewise correct such error, with all haste?

If not, why not?

Are the Articles of Confederation, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution not our Founding Documents?

If we are found to be in violation of them, ought we not make correction?

One might say that is not our business as Christians — that is for those who are in charge, i.e., “the powers that be are ordained of God”, to decide what to do.

But in America, it is We the People who are in charge, and therefore it follows that We the People are “the powers that be” (see Romans 13:1) which ‘are ordained of God’. The responsibility is ours, in America it is ultimately We the People, for the simple reason that in America, there is no one who is higher in Authority than We the People.

It is true that We the People delegate our authority to elected officials — elected officials who we hire and pay to represent who?

They represent US.

So who is the ultimate and highest Authority?

Who serves whom, and at whose pleasure, and by whose consent?

Who are the true ‘powers that be’?

In America, it is well and truly We the People, which is clearly and undeniably established by any reading of the Founding Fathers.

We the People created this country, We the People created the Constitution, the Constitution authorizes the creation of the government and the government exists to serve and protect We the People, i.e., ‘us’, ourselves.

Because of course it does. Our Founding Fathers didn’t fight a revolution against one tyrannical power, just to turn around give someone else tyrannical power over us. That would be insane.

Our Founding Fathers created a government that is designed and intended to serve and protect We the People, and ALL of the checks and balances built into our government are there to PREVENT the government from ever usurping authority over We the People who created it.

We can argue over how well or poorly those checks and balances are working or being followed, but whether it is being followed properly or not, we can certainly read the relevant texts and see what they plainly say.

Just as we can read and understand God’s intent in Scripture based on what His Word plainly says, we can do the same with any other document, including the Constitution for the united States and our other Founding Documents.

And as we know, the created cannot be greater than the Creator. Any preacher will acknowledge that because God is our Creator and we can never be greater than (or equal to) God, and the same applies to our relationship with the government which We the People created.

We the People are the Creators of our government, and our government is the created.

Our Founding Fathers rebelled against the ‘higher powers’, i.e., king George, and according to the usual reading of Romans 13:1-7, king George was ‘the powers that be’, ordained of God.

Not only did our Founding Fathers rebel against that power, they actually fought a Revolution against the tyranny of king George, and won.

Did they win in spite of God’s will? Did they overcome God’s will? Did they defeat God’s will? If their efforts were against God’s will, is it possible they could they have won? Could they possibly have been successful without God’s will?

Clearly not.

As Gamaliel expressed it in the Book of Acts:

So our Founding Fathers rebelled against a tyrannical power, and God clearly blessed their efforts, or they could never have succeeded, and we would not be having this discussion today.

Either that, or they overcame God and His will, which, while it is impossible to overcome God’s will, somehow the Founding Fathers did it anyway; in which case we are obligated to correct that error and give America back to England, along with 248 years of back rent and a really, really big apology.

And boy are our faces gonna be red 😁

Because they can’t have Romans 13:1-7 both ways.

They can’t say we must obey tyrannical powers today, but it was okay to rebel against tyrannical powers in 1776.

Romans 13:1-7 was operative in 1776, just as it was in the 1st century, and today.

The question, it seems is twofold.

First, if ‘the powers that be’ (cf. Romans 13:1) become corrupt, abusive and tyrannical, even a monarch, does he retain God’s blessing and rightful authority indefinitely, regardless of abuse of power — or does he surrender it?

It would appear evident that king George surrendered any rightful Authority over the colonies by his tyranny and abuse, or again, we would not be having this discussion.

Second, as is so often the case, whether in Scripture or in other affairs of men, is the question of Authority.

Who has it?

In America, is it We the People, or is it the government which was created by We the People?

The answer to that question determines how we read Romans 13:1-7, because Romans references ‘the powers that be’, so it is necessary to understand who ‘the powers that be’ actually is.

Is it not true that we ought to follow the laws which We the People have created for ourselves? Of course it is.

Is it not likewise true that we ought to obey the proper authorities who We the People have set over ourselves to maintain public order, and to defend our Rights, and to protect our borders, so long as they remain faithful in their duties and within the boundaries and restrictions of the laws We the People created to govern ourselves?

Of course it is.

And these civil servants, whom We the People have set over us, to Represent us and safeguard our interests, who have a fiduciary obligation to serve us and our interests, very much and exactly like the trustees of a Trust — do they rule by any Authority other than by the Authority which We the People have entrusted to them — that is, by the consent of the governed?

Of course not:

Who has the highest Authority in America?

If the answer to that question is We the People, who Created the government, then do We the People not have the responsibility to hold our Representatives accountable?

Do We the People not only have a right but also a duty to throw off tyrannical government?

In light of Romans 13:1-7, as it pertains to America, who are ‘the powers that be’?

It is either We the People, or it is the representatives with whom We the People contract to represent and serve and protect us — which is the only reason for their existence.

In either case, who has the ultimate Authority, if the government created by We the People is in gross dereliction of its duties and obligations, even to the point of becoming an overtly criminal enterprise?

Who is the Creator, and what is the created?

Who is the Master, and who is the public servant?

Who has the ultimate Authority in America?

Who then are ‘the powers that be’, ordained of God in Romans 13:1?

Is it the Masters, i.e., We the People who created the government? Or is it the public servants who We the People hire to serve and protect and represent us?

Either way, no matter how one might answer, what must We the People do, if the public servants we hire and pay become tyrannical against us?

What did our Founding Fathers do?

Were they right in what they did, or were they wrong?

If they were wrong, then are we not obligated to give America back to England?

But if they were right, then are we not obligated to also do as our Founding Fathers did?

To overthrow not just a tyrannical power, but even more rightly and justifiably, a government which We the People ourselves created, servants who We the People hire and pay to serve us, and who have become tyrannical against We the People who created the government and hired them?

Who does this land called America belong to?

Who are the land owners?

Does it belong to the servants we hire and send to the district of Columbia, or does it belong to We the People who established this nation and maintain it to this day?

Whoever America belongs to, they are the highest Authority in the Land.

He said “A Republic , if you can keep it.”

So when the corrupt political-class starts talking about ‘our democracy‘, they know better. They’re doing it on purpose.
 
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep, voting on what’s for dinner.
 
Democracy is mob rule.
 
A true Democracy means NO RIGHTS at all, because the majority can simply vote to do whatever they want, and if that means stealing your property or killing you and your family, they only need a 51% majority vote to do it. 
 
In our Republic, the God-given rights of the individual are PARAMOUNT and guaranteed by the Bill of Rights in the Constitution.
 
In our Constitutional Republic, the government is obligated to uphold and defend our individual rights against the mob.
 
In our Republic, it doesn’t matter if 99.9% of the people — everyone but you — vote to take your property or your life. They can’t do it, not lawfully, because they have no right to violate YOUR God-given rights.

And it is important to understand why our Founding Fathers acknowledged that our Rights are given by God, and not by government. The Constitution doesn’t give us our Rights, the Constitution recognizes our preexisting and unalienable God-given Rights, and guarantees them.

Anything ‘given’ by government can also be taken away by government.

Our rights are given by God, and no government can lawfully take away what has been given to us by God.

We had a celebratory dinner tonight. Very upscale restaurant in the Hudson Valley.

Four of us. During our highly animated conversation, a table about ten feet away changed their table. We asked the bus boy if our discussion was the problem, if I can say that…he would not reveal the reason.

Colorado voting: Everyone gets a mail in ballot. There’s no ID requirement though they will supposedly check your signature on the return envelope against the signature you supplied when you registered to vote.

If you want to you can go vote in person instead. There, they WILL want to see some ID, but this is worthless as even a copy of Joe Blow’s utility bill is enough that they will consider you to be Joe Blow.

A pilot’s license is considered valid too, though as of 20 years ago, it has no photograph on it. (It also never expires.) I used it one time before we went to mail-in-by-default and they had to scramble a bit to realize it was “valid” ID. I was trying to illustrate the absurdity of it.

We need no more mail in, and photo ID required.

Then you aren’t considered current, and cannot be the pilot in command.

Whether or not you fly you have to get checked out by an instructor periodically. AND you have to have a doctor certify you’re medically able to fly. Checkups ever two or three years (depending on your age) if you are just a private pilot, every 6 months for an Air Transport Pilot (i.e., an airline pilot).

Again that assumes nothing has changed in 20 years.

I freeze drinks in plastic bottles instead of loose ice. You get a cold drink that way & the large chunks of ice they become take quite a while to thaw. No meltwater, but sometimes a bit of condensation drips.

My small cooler (designed for a six pack) has a sealed water container in it, but it generally completely melts in less than 12 hours. Even if I put the whole thing in the freezer and take it out right before leaving.

The bigger one has no such thing but I will put anything that can’t get wet into a tupperware-type container and set it on top of the ice and beverages and that works out.

Yes I was thinking of that but didn’t know how to articulate it so well. I think our cooler was a royal blue with white trim but the inner jug was a pale blue. I think we had it almost 30 years ago, iirc.

I certainly recognize that line. It’s often quoted at atheists in a rather threatening way though I know that’s not how you mean it here.

Your last sentence is lighthearted but may mean you are suffering from a misconception. It’s not like my parents taught me there is no god, they just didn’t teach me that there is one. And my father was actually a believer at the time and his side of the family certainly believed though he eventually decided there was nothing to it.

As such I was never taught things like “when a Christian makes this claim, this is why it’s false.” (You can find plenty of that sort of thing, but we never saw it.) My brother actually did convert at one point, but decades later he decided it was actually incorrect and he had it right the first time.

That’s pretty interesting on your family’s faith & lack thereof journey.

I was raised in a culturally Christian home but my parents were probably nominal Believers up until maybe their 30’s. My mom was raised Lutheran & my dad United Methodist. We went to Dad’s church up until I was in 5th grade.

My parents had been invited by friends from the Methodist church to attend a new church where they had started going. This church was quite different from traditional denominational churches, at least as I’ve understood them. That church was Independent, Spirit-Filled (some would call it Charismatic), & quite large (several thousand people versus the several hundred that was familiar). I attended there until going away to college.

Sometime after visiting that church my dad was woken up in the middle of the night by “the Lord” & was instructed to take his family to that new church. Basically my parents never looked back. I doubt they would ever leave that church unless there was some other “direct word” from the Lord to do so. My brothers attended that church’s school from portions of grade school to high school. I went to the local public school always.

I have a complicated relationship with “church” as an institution & am a pretty sporadic attender now for many years. I basically have no issues with “the Body of Christ” or the Church universal, as I best understand it from scripture. The institutions of men, which many churches seem to devolve into, are a bit of a different story.

Unlike how it often goes my husband has been a more faithful & committed church attender & active “servant” in the Body, having served in many capacities over the years (elder, deacon, worship, various outreach ministries, governing board) & I was involved in a handful. We raised our kids in the faith & they all have attendance patterns closer to my husband’s than to mine, which is a good thing. They’ll probably raise their kids up in the Faith too, for which I am quite thankful.

Had I not been raised in the faith I could imagine that I might have been drawn to atheism too. For me that might have meant being arrogant in my own intellectualism & ability to understand the world & its workings apart from God.

Well I hit the big 6-0 earlier this year & Hubby got his old band back together & they did a mini-concert at the B-Day Bash he threw in the basement of our old church. He’s still in his late 50s for a couple more years. I got me a young bronc LOL

Actually I still tease Hubby that he’s always the biggest kid in the room & he’ll perpetually be a teenager in one way or another. I love the fact that you can never completely snuff out the little boy inside the man!

When you get right down to it, the political-class are really just professional money-launderers.

That’s the whole business model.

That’s how they blow through money so fast. They pay someone an exorbitant amount for some sort of dubious ‘service’, the recipient takes their cut, and then kicks the rest back to the politician.

So they are incentivized to pay more and more people ever larger amounts, because it all comes back to themselves anyway.

The Brits are sort of halfway transitioning to our system.

They call them “long scale” and “short scale”

Long scale, take the prefix (e.g., tri-) turn it into a number (3) and multiply by 6. Done. A trillion, long scale, is 18 zeros.

Short scale: Take the prefix (e.g., tri-) turn it into a number (3), add one (4) and multiply by 3 (12). A trillion, short scale, is 12 zeros.

Both are the same with a million (which implicitly is as if it were a one prefix), six zeros.

The US uses the short scale.

The long scale will often use thousand million, thousand billion, thousand trillion, etc. or sometimes milliard, billiard (yes, not joking!) and trilliard for the odd groups of three (9, 15, 21… zeros).

Fortunately in the sciences the metric prefixes go by thousands, always, kilo=3 zeros, mega=6 zeros, giga=9, tera=12, peta=15, exa=18, etc. Past that I have to look them up: yotta=21, zetta=24, ronna=27, quetta=30. And yes we have uses for ronna and quetta, the Earth’s mass is 5.972 ronnagrams (Rg).

Even many people in the UK are starting to use Short Scale (ours) instead of Long Scale (theirs). He can remove all ambiguity by saying thousand million and million million, which is what G Gordon Liddy used to do on his talk show.
