What allowed the buyout of US corporations? Mutual Funds & Pension Funds held stock in them. The stock, purchased using YOUR MONEY or pensions and was held in YOUR NAME. But you didn’t vote it as a stockholder. Instead, the stock was VOTED by Fidelity, Vanguard, Blackrock, State Street and other financial institutions. They are the ones who voted to allow the leveraged buyouts.
Do not forget 401K plans. They are another control transfer mechanism.

Believe it or not, before some recent Supreme Court decisions the American political system was not always so skewed in favor of the wealthy and powerful. In fact, dating back to the Tillman Act of 1907 and the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947, Congress limited the ability of corporations and labor unions to make contributions or expenditures in connection with political campaigns.
The influx of money from corporations, unions, and ultra-wealthy individuals in recent decades is due largely to a few poorly reasoned Supreme Court decisions. The best way to understand how our campaign finance laws became so horribly dysfunctional is to understand those decisions, which are explained in detail below.

Also whenever a small company, such as the one I worked for or Spags, suddenly had problems from major changes in the way they did business and then went under, Hubby & I would say they had been HAVAAAAD business schooled. The method was to cut needed expenses such as ongoing maintenance so the bottom line looked really good for a couple years and then move on to the next victim.
The Spags case was special. The store was not open on Sunday because the Borgatti family was religious. The old man dealt in CASH ONLY, no checks or credit cards. Thus he could also get really good deals on merchandise by paying THAT DAY and NOT paying 3 months later as most stores do. Also since Massachusetts taxed inventory in warehouses but NOT goods in transit, he stored his merchandise in trailers in his lot. His retail store was a no-frills warehouse with the merchandise on warehouse racks in cut open boxes. (No additional stock boys.) When he died his kids hired a Harvard business grad. They started taking credit cards (5% paid to the card company by the vendor) fancied up the selling area ($$$$) got a warehouse ($$$$) and the business went under in a few years and was sold.
Today, those asset managers DO NOT LIKE TRUMP’S TARIFFS. Thus you are going to see price gouging such as bananas going from $0.39 to $0.59 in ONE WEEK. Allowing the Fake news arm of the globalists to jump in and BLAME TARIFFS.

And thus the Tea Party was formed and ATTACKED by both the Democrats (LINK 1 and LINK 2) followed by the Republicans — Chamber of Commerce to Spend $100 Million to Destroy Tea Party. I guess the big transnational corporations did not like the idea of the serfs organizing.

The author reviewed numerous first person reports of Tea Party rallies, conferences and meetings from every corner of the country, and read most of the movement’s own literature. The Tea Parties are described as a unique movement appearing at a specific historical moment. The movement encompasses constituent national networks, core members and more loosely aligned supporters. Its supporters are overwhelmingly white and middle class. Matters of race and national identity motivate many Tea Partiers as well as a sense of dispossession from their place of privilege in the racial order. This analysis takes at face value the movement’s dress, symbols and invocation of the constitution, as well as its claims to embody the aspirations of a narrow body of ‘real Americans’. By making an exclusionary claim on the nation’s founding moments, they actually set themselves apart from other Americans.…
Conclusion
Social movements do not last forever. More often than not, they have one or another or a combination of three fates. One, they are either victorious and decline after reaching their goal. Two, they are defeated outright. Three, they are co-opted by some larger institution.The militia movement that emerged in the 1990s, for example, was defeated following the
Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 by a concerted campaign of civic opposition and government repression. Militia groups have reappeared, but the movement itself is gone as of now. To go back further in history, the Ku Klux Klan and other white-minded thugs that emerged during the Reconstruction period after the Civil War were essentially victorious in re-establishing the system of white supremacy in the former Confederacy, and the Klan dissolved effortlessly into the Democratic Party before the end of the century. The Klan in the 1920s may have suffered from the scandals surrounding its leadership, but the movement did not die until after it won a change in the 1924 immigration law that protected Anglo-Saxon hegemony for another generation. After that it basically closed up shop, except in the Deep South. The Klan, the Citizens Councils, the Birchers
and the segregationists in the 1950s and 1960s were decisively defeated by the black freedom movement, and they were left standing with empty hands after Governor George Wallace’s independent presidential campaign in 1968. Only the Republican Party gained after it adopted its infamous ‘Southern Strategy’.The decisive moments that will decide the Tea Parties’ fate have not yet occurred. The movement’s sights are set squarely on November 2012. If they win back the presidency for the Republican Party, the movement might or might not dissolve into squabbling factions. If they perceive that they have lost that election, or the Republican primaries before it, an internal power struggle may or may not split it irrevocably apart. Win, lose or draw, however, the Tea Party movement has already left important markers on America’s political landscape: First, in the current debate over economic policy and the national debt, they have moved the discussion toward fiscal restraint and de-regulation. They stand in the way of environmental protection and other measures by which the federal government might promote the common good. Of more long-term consequence, however, will be its legacy in the arena of race. Please consider that the Tea Party movement may be a precursor of an even larger revolt by supposedly dispossessed white people as the expected population and demographic shifts occur in the decades to come.

Rounding out today’s accountability trifecta, on Sunday the Washington Post ran an intriguing story headlined, “Trump Justice Dept. considers removing key check on lawmaker prosecutions.” The “key check” is a Biden-era rule that forbids Attorneys General from investigating public officials for corruption without first getting permission from the DC field office. You can guess how often that happens.
According to leakers (“three people familiar with the proposal”), federal prosecutors across the country may soon be able to indict members of Congress without pre-approval from “lawyers in the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section,” or PIN, which is safely settled in Washington, DC where politicians can keep a wary eye on them.
Even better, under the new plan, FBI investigators and prosecutors would also be freed from having to ‘consult’ with the section’s attorneys “during key steps of probes into public officials.” In other words, even when the DC office did green-light an indictment, it still micromanaged the whole investigation.
Currently, the DOJ’s manual requires that PIN’s attorneys must approve —not just be consulted on— any charges against members of Congress. It doesn’t happen often, to say the least.
WaPo, probably intentionally, missed the painfully obvious point: a special oversight privilege for public officials provides them with a special tier of justice that other Americans do not enjoy. WaPo whined that the Public Integrity Section’s role was to “ensure that cases against public officials are legally sound and not politically motivated.”
But … what about us? Wouldn’t it be better and fairer to ensure that cases against all Americans are legally sound and not politically motivated, and not just public officials?
The ironically named Public Integrity office has already “dramatically shrunk” during the Trump administration, plunging from around 30 prosecutors by the end of the Biden administration to fewer than five today. One was fired, some rage-quit over the dismissal of the DOJ’s case against New York’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams, while others have been “detailed to different sections in the department,” such as the division of Indian Affairs. In Trump’s first week in office, he fired PIN Director Corey Amundson.
It sure makes you think. Say you were planning to initiate wide-scale investigations into members of Congress, maybe for NGO abuse, insider trading, or general self-enrichment. This kind of thing would probably be your first move. Just saying.

Whoopsies! Sorry, experts. This week, Politico ran a story headlined, “Tariffs have little impact on prices, defying forecasts.” Unexpectedly!
On Tuesday, the Labor Department reported that prices only rose at an annualized rate of 2.3 percent, the smallest increase since 2020— before the pandemic. And that was in spite of tariffs. It’s almost like Trump’s tariffs have had the opposite effect the experts sagely predicted.
An honest media would call the experts to account, and require them to explain why they were wrong. But Politico’s story lavishly applied the passive voice (“prices were expected to climb”), obscuring who was wrong, generously giving unreliable experts a pass. Oh well.

Illegal Aliens to Get Interest-Free Home Loans Under New Democrat-Backed California Bill
The DemonRats are trying to KEEP illegals in California and entice them to VOTE DEMONRAT.
I think they now know that if they lose the illegal vote they will lose the state to MAGA.
That discriminatory practice infuriates the people in Ca no matter their politics. It’s so hard and expensive for working citizens to buy a home.
That’s actually how I was able to buy the condo in San Diego. ACORN was behind some scheme for hispanics who had no history, no credit worthiness and no papers. I was so pissed off that I drove to the barrio and sat through the meetings, filled out paperwork for the loan. By the by naturally I didn’t rate the original loan offer but for whatever reason they allowed me a predatory type loan, basically paying interest only for years. I did that and eventually was able to refinance to a regular loan. Most people went under and lost their homes.
Was there anything in that loan paperwork forbidding you from paying some of the principal anyway with extra added to the monthly payment?
Some of the principal was in the payment. It was minimal though.
Most loans are like that with the interest a big chunk up front and very little principal paid.
Now add that to corporations keeping workers for just a few years… That means most people have become itinerant workers moving every 3 to 5 years from job to job and town to town,
Corporations do not have to pay pensions and mortgage companies get paid 90+% interest before the house is sold to another chump.
Additionally with the cheeseball loans they get sold frequently and the new one wants your financials again. Very irritating
I guess they write something into the loan saying the holder can demand your financials any time they want them.
Otherwise I’d tell them to pound sand; if they had any question as to your ability to pay they shouldn’t have bought the loan.
Any long term loan where you pay interest on the unpaid principal is going to be like that, with the interest “front loaded” because that is when you have the largest unpaid principal.
Rather than griping about how unfair that seems (as I thought when I was a kid; I heard my parents explain to me how it was almost all interest up front and I was imagining (I guess) a fixed total quantity of interest as well); I do something a bit different (if financially able): I fudge it so my payments are constant principal. I pay the principal down by the same amount every month, adding on the interest that has accrued since the last payment. (It’s easier to do this with a car loan than a house loan, obviously.)
It shortens the term of the loan dramtically, and as I get closer to the end, my payment decreases.

Unfortunately care of my 2 mares is taking about 4 to 5 hours a day. It is mainly grinding up VERY HARD pills — 28 a day — and my arm & neck are now screaming! Once ground to a fine powder, he darn stuff does NOT want to wet-out in molasses so that is another headache. 
Luckily my Shetland mare is no longer trying to take my head off with her front hooves and her wound is not as ‘gunky’. She has managed to rip all the skin off the abscess so she now has a wound about 6 inches long and 2 -3 inches wide on the side of her face. That means I can not bandage it however I can clean it throughly.

With a cream I can smear it on the healing wound once she sees the vet again in a week. Horses get ‘proud flesh’ an over growth that is really ugly. We used aloe on my gelding wire cut instead of the stuff the Vet gave us and it healed beautifully with no proud flesh and even the hair grew back.

He’s still quite pale, low energy, eating less than typical. Improving Slowly day by day.
Today starts our funeral activity gauntlet, visitation this afternoon into evening, tomorrow a family gathering at my brother’s house about an hour away, Friday morning into mid-late afternoon funeral an hour away in a different direction.
We’re all Whipped in my home, post hospitalization upheaval for J & I, & post whirlwind work trip Up North for Hubby (& Brandon & Clarissa, who don’t live here any more).

On top of these events Brandon spent some hours trying to get attention for our dog, Jules, who still has a couple of porcupine quills in her gums that have basically migrated. They were very small quills that were already soft when they “de-quilled” her Up North. We cannot afford the vet recommended course of action & the time frame overlaps our funeral-related gauntlet activities.
B found a reference to baking soda & vinegar paste to apply to the area. I found some old antibiotics for a previous dog (of a similar size) that still had 13 of 14 pills prescribed. B precut a hotdog into 13 pieces & gave the first daily pill yesterday.
We prayed over Jules and are just going to trust her into God’s care. When she got quilled a couple years back it’s possible that there were also a couple of very small quills in the mouth that didn’t get removed either & she pulled through that OK then as well.
Anyway I’d appreciate prayers for our extended family as we go through the overt grieving process in these planned activities. It may be quite emotional, especially for those who didn’t know my mom was in such a precipitous decline & will be quite shocked as well as saddened by her unexpected demise (& perhaps even her appearance).
Thanks so much for praying for my family numerous times these past few weeks, which has blessed me mightily when going though a pretty wild ride. God Bless YOU All!!!

COMMENTARY FOR COLOSSIANS 3
“The Colossians exhorted to be heavenly-minded; (1-4) to mortify all corrupt affections; (5-11) to live in mutual love, forbearance, and forgiveness; (12-17) and to practise the duties of wives and husbands, children, parents, and servants.” (18-25)
(18-25) “The epistles most taken up in displaying the glory of the Divine grace, and magnifying the Lord Jesus, are the most particular in pressing the duties of the Christian life. We must never separate the privileges and duties of the gospel. Submission is the duty of wives. But it is submission, not to a severe lord or stern tyrant, but to her own husband, who is engaged to affectionate duty. And husbands must love their wives with tender and faithful affection. Dutiful children are the most likely to prosper. And parents must be tender, as well as children obedient. Servants are to do their duty, and obey their masters’ commands, in all things consistent with duty to God their heavenly Master. They must be both just and diligent; without selfish designs, or hypocrisy and disguise. Those who fear God, will be just and faithful when from under their master’s eye, because they know they are under the eye of God.”

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Actually it was changing out of sopping wet clothes after caving and finding the temp had dropped 40F and it was snowing.

A woman complained to a flight attendant that she couldn’t sit next to a man wearing a pro-Trump MAGA cap. She made a scene and demanded to be moved to first class. The flight attendant later returned and invited the man to move to first class, which resolved the situation.

Do people really think that “this” Congress, was going to “codify” the Doge cuts?
Why would they think that?
Our election system is fraudulent.
Do you think Trump doesn’t know that the majority of Congress, couldn’t win a fair and honest election?
All Trump needs this Congress to do, is pass his “one big beautiful” bill.
Why?
It’s MASSIVE tax relief for the American people and takes the power away from the government.
The less money the government can take from the American people, the less power they have over them.
Trump is a “wartime president” and can declare national emergencies. That gives him the power to use this “funding” for whatever he needs, in order to save and protect the Republic.
He did this exact same thing in his first term.

Congress specifically said that no funding could be used to “build” the wall.
What did Trump do?
He took the massive “increase” in military spending and had the military build the wall.
Congress couldn’t do a thing about it.

Trump is slashing IRS jobs by the tens of thousands and looking to replace the IRS with the External Revenue Service.
Do you think this “one big beautiful” bill is going to be any different?
All the stories about “what’s in the bill” is all the same old panic pushing clickbait.
It’s politics used to keep everyone divided and fighting over meaningless stuff so that politicians can grandstand and win brownie points.
Just because something is in the bill, doesn’t mean Trump has to spend that money at all, or spend it on what Congress says that he must spend it on.
The constitution says this about the president.
“The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.”
Guess who gets to determine how the money gets spent in the “executive branch,” once Congress has cut the check?
We have literally been watching Trump using DOGE to dismantle the executive branch and get rid of all the fraud, waste and abuse.
And guess what?
All that fraud, waste and abuse, exists because of Congress and they aren’t preventing Trump from cutting it at all.
Trump is going to continue to win the court challenges against him cutting the executive branch and he knows it.
The Constitution gives him the power to do it.
What’s the other meaningless thing that’s being pushed to panic people?
Trump’s “one big beautiful” bill is massively increasing spending.
“It’s going to bankrupt America.”
We’re ALREADY bankrupt and the debt was NEVER going to be paid back.
NEVER!
And MAYBE, Trump’s plan has ALWAYS been to BANKRUPT this global debt slavery system controlled by the central bankers.
MAYBE Trump is BANKRUPTING the system “on purpose” so that he can replace it with a new system controlled by the people with honest money backed by gold.
And here’s where most people are really missing what Trump is doing.
Why might a massive increase in spending be really important right now?
How do you FUND Continuity of Government Operations as you fight a war against an insurgency embedded within the government?
Trump ALREADY knows what’s coming.

Then, there’s the “Medicare Clock.” IIRC, Nebraska Filly is on Medicare (and also getting health benefits from the VA, as she is a veteran.)
The “Medicare Clock” runs a 24-hour schedule from Noon to Noon. Usually, there’s a “72-hour rule” for patients on Medicare who are admitted to hospital. This means that the hospital has to show “good reason” for the patient to stay after the “72-hour rule.” If the hospital can’t show “good reason”, arrangements must be made for the patient to be discharged either to another facility, or to home (with home health care ordered by the doctor is needed.)

My late husband hated Harvard, even though he earned his PhD from that institution. I think this was because his PhD thesis (in Economics) didn’t “conform” to what the head of the Economics Department wanted to see.
What happened? “All of a sudden”, near the end of the thesis writing period and getting ready for the “viva voce” examination, my husband’s “thesis mentor” was removed from the process. My husband had to go and find another professor to take the place of the removed “thesis mentor.” He did find one, but the added pressure was enormous.
Yeah, “orthodoxy.”
Like the “orthodoxy” which is the lifeblood of the medical community.
Like the “orthodoxy” (bought and paid for) of groups like the FDA’s VRBPAC members, who vote lockstep following the “recommendations’ of the WHO and of Big Pharma.
Like the “orthodoxy” which is the foundation of the board-credentialing organizations for medical professionals.
I would have loved to have talked “shop” with your husband.

It’s clear that the department head didn’t mind that “thesis advisor” influencing a thesis, but how to prevent the SPREAD of ideas in that thesis, which he opposed? Thesis examinations are often associated with the spreading of ideas between academics. Can’t have that! So make sure the “proponent” isn’t there for the examination – only the candidate. Pass the candidate, to keep things quiet (a denial would be too noisy). Move the candidate (now a Ph.D.) on to somewhere they can’t cause trouble. “Order” is maintained.

He did finish his thesis, take the exams, and earn his PhD in Economics.
He also took his PhD thesis, turned it into a book, and found funding to get it published: Israel Thorndike, Federalist Financier.

They had “King Charles” & Camilla walking various places in Chinada (TM WM) then pontificating on some type of throne there in front of their Senate. Talking heads emphasizing how “free” and “independent” their great white northlandia was–spit! Plenty of disparaging of DJT was on display too
Before King Charles came over their was a head line I didn’t bother reading that said, President Trump likely would not want to hear what King Charles was going to say in Canada. I assume a preview of the speech of some sort. Hasn’t heard much else…

Good morning, C&C, it’s Wednesday! I didn’t see anywhere where Harvard is causing this.
(1) Good point – if they do have responsibility, it would have to be through people they are enabling and supporting.
(2) The point that these experiments can be run by NGOs and done in countries our legal system can’t control, combined with media silence, tells me that there is some possibility that there is “success” we are not being told about. I say that because there is other “success” in other things not in the public knowledge, so I believe this is possible, physics and chemistry willing.
These people tend to tell us things, when the telling means they get more money or power. When the telling would be detrimental to their interests, I expect not to be told anything.

After decades of mass illegal immigration into the United States, untold millions of illegal aliens have settled throughout the country, competing with Americans for government benefits, jobs, and now, for homes.
For most illegal aliens, obtaining a mortgage from a traditional bank — without a social security number or a credit score — is nearly impossible. But as millions of illegal aliens flooded the country, a new industry has cropped up to capitalize on the new customer base, selling financing catered to the illegal population.
One entity at the forefront of this industry, a Daily Wire investigation has revealed, is Prysma Lending, which has given out more than a billion dollars in loans in red and blue states alike as it blatantly targets illegal aliens.
Trump pledged to ban mortgages for illegal aliens on the campaign trail and his administration took action in March to prevent government-backed mortgages from going to illegal aliens. But Prysma is one of several companies — including Colony Ridge, the Texas development that The Daily Wire exposed as a magnet for illegal aliens — that uses a different financial tactic that isn’t impacted by the administration’s recent rule change, which specifically targeted loans backed by the Federal Housing Administration.
The company prides itself on “empowering the Latino community to achieve homeownership” in its Spanish-language Instagram bio. The company’s president, Monica Serva, says she started Prysma with the intent of “helping the Latino community” because she “realized how unfairly minorities were treated.”
But Prysma revealed that its business model relied on illegal aliens, in particular, when it hosted a webinar with an immigration lawyer to answer their customers’ questions about the risk of deportation in the days following President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The company is evidently concerned that its clientele could be deported, or at least that potential customers could be dissuaded from buying a home in a country that they fear they could be removed from.
They have reason to be worried. The Connecticut-based company’s website is checkered with explicit appeals to illegal aliens, allowing it to corner a market that doesn’t have access to the same financial tools as American citizens and legal residents.

“Prysma has helped non-US citizen families in: Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas,” the corporation’s site reads. “No Social Security or Green Card required.”
“You have a right to homeownership, regardless of legal status,” Prysma says. The company even published guides on “loans for undocumented immigrants” and boasts that it has “extensive experience with loans tailored to the unique needs of undocumented immigrants.”
“Securing personal loans can be a crucial step toward financial independence for undocumented immigrants, who often face challenges accessing traditional financial products,” Prysma writes.
Federation for American Immigration Reform Media Director Ira Mehlman told The Daily Wire that allowing illegal aliens to access mortgages could incentivize them to remain in the country, but that Congress could take action.
“Access to mortgages can serve as an incentive for illegal aliens to remain in the country, especially at a time when the goal of the government is convincing illegal aliens to leave,” Mehlman explained. Congress could take many actions – from disclosure to outright prohibition – and set a national standard for states to follow.”
A Prysma employee admitted in the post-election webinar that the company specializes in offering loans to illegal aliens.
“At Prysma, again we’re super honored that Latinos come to us … well, people from all different parts of the world, looking for loans that don’t require a legal status,” Senior Mortgage Loan Originator Stefany Pina said.
The corporation made a guide to go along with the talk, providing “actionable steps to safeguard the things that matter to you most should you or a family member be at risk of deportation.” The document tells customers how to trigger a “credible fear” interview to avoid deportation, adding that “the interview process can slow deportation proceedings, giving you time to build a legal defense.”
Prysma also instructs illegal aliens to avoid presenting “IDs that could flag you for deportation,” including foreign passports.
Prysma’s business model appears to rely on the individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN), a tax processing number from the IRS that can be obtained by anyone regardless of their immigration status. The National Immigration Law Center, a left-wing Soros-backed organization, calls ITINs “a powerful tool for immigrant taxpayers.” Illegal aliens can use ITINs to receive home and personal loans, often at rates significantly higher than those offered by traditional banks.
Obtaining an ITIN, Prysma is eager to point out, does not require a legal status. “Your ITIN allows you to take out a Tax ID loan … without showing legal residency in the U.S.” The company says, also adding “no social security card needed” and “no green card needed.”

NASA engineers have miraculously revived the Voyager 1 interstellar probe’s backup thrusters — components that hadn’t been used since 2004 and were long considered fully defunct. This remarkable feat became necessary because the spacecraft’s primary thrusters, which control its orientation, have been degrading due to residue buildup. If its thrusters fail completely, Voyager 1 could lose its ability to point its antenna toward Earth, therefore cutting off communication with Earth after nearly 50 years of operation.
To make matters more urgent, the team faced a strict deadline while trying to remedy the thruster situation. After May 4, the Earth-based antenna that sends commands to Voyager 1 — and its twin, Voyager 2 — was scheduled to go offline for months of upgrades. This would have made timely intervention impossible.
NASA’s twin Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977 with the primary mission of exploring the outer planets of our solar system — but upon accomplishing this original goal, the Voyagers then focused their attention on studying interstellar space. Voyager 1 exited the solar system in August of 2012, followed by Voyager 2 in November of 2018. Together, these spacecraft have traveled more than 29 billion miles (46.7 billion kilometers), making them the farthest human-made objects from Earth — and, along the way, they’ve provided unprecedented insights into our solar system.
While both Voyager spacecraft remain operational, however, their age and immense distance from Earth have brought about significant technical challenges. The radioisotope power generators that keep them running gradually weaken each year, forcing NASA to recently shut down instruments and heaters to conserve energy in order to push the spacecrafts’ systems beyond their limits. Voyager 1 also experienced a recent data glitch caused by a faulty chip; engineers resolved this with a clever software workaround.
Yet despite these hurdles, the Voyagers continue to function — a testament to both their robust design and the ingenuity of the teams managing them.
This recent development, in which NASA engineers revived Voyager 1’s long-dormant backup thrusters, marks yet another remarkable feat of engineering and offers another lifeline for the aging spacecraft.
The backup thrusters are essential for executing precise “roll maneuvers” that adjust Voyager 1’s orientation, ensuring its antenna stays pointed toward Earth for reliable communication. The spacecraft’s original roll thrusters failed back in 2004 after two small internal heaters, crucial for their operation, lost power and stopped functioning. After thorough assessment, engineers determined these heaters couldn’t be repaired remotely, prompting them to switch reliance fully to the backup thrusters to maintain alignment of the star tracker — a key instrument that helps Voyager 1 navigate and stabilize itself in space.
“I think at that time, the team was OK with accepting that the primary roll thrusters didn’t work, because they had a perfectly good backup,” Kareem Badaruddin, Voyager mission manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which manages the mission for the agency, said in a statement . “And, frankly, they probably didn’t think the Voyagers were going to keep going for another 20 years.”
To solve the problem, NASA’s team had to reactivate Voyager 1’s long-dormant backup roll thrusters and then attempt to restart the heaters that keep them operational. If the star tracker drifted too far from its guide star during this process, the roll thrusters would automatically fire as a safety measure — but if the heaters weren’t back online by then, firing the thrusters could cause a dangerous pressure spike. So, the team had to precisely realign the star tracker before the thrusters engaged.
Because Voyager is so incredibly distant, the team faced an agonizing 23-hour wait for the radio signal to travel all the way back to Earth. If the test had failed, Voyager might have already been in serious trouble. Then, on March 20, their patience was finally rewarded when Voyager responded perfectly to their commands. Within 20 minutes of receiving the signal, the team saw the thruster heaters’ temperature soar — a clear sign that the backup thrusters were firing as planned.
“It was such a glorious moment. Team morale was very high that day,” Todd Barber, the mission’s propulsion lead at JPL, said in the statement. “These thrusters were considered dead. And that was a legitimate conclusion. It’s just that one of our engineers had this insight that maybe there was this other possible cause, and it was fixable. It was yet another miracle save for Voyager.”
This achievement highlights the ingenuity and problem-solving skills of the engineers keeping Voyager operational after nearly five decades. Despite the technical hurdles and the spacecraft’s age, Voyager 1 and 2 continue to send valuable data from beyond our solar system. Their ongoing mission offers a unique opportunity to deepen our understanding of interstellar space — knowledge that no other spacecraft has been able to provide so far.

The settlement was announced on Wednesday by the legal team representing Tamara Lanier, who had waged a six-year legal battle over what she alleged was its wrongful claim of ownership over photos that were taken without her ancestors’ consent.
The photos will not go to Lanier as part of the settlement, but instead will be turned over along with pictures of five other enslaved people to the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina.
The lawsuit concerned images depicting Renty Taylor and his daughter Delia, slaves on a South Carolina plantation who were forced to disrobe for photos taken for a racist study by Harvard Professor Louis Agassiz.
A judge in Massachusetts initially dismissed the case. But the state’s highest court revived it in 2022, saying she had plausibly alleged Harvard was negligent and recklessly caused her to suffer emotional distress.
Justice Scott Kafker, writing for the court, said Harvard “cavalierly” dismissed Lanier’s claims of an ancestral link and disregarded her requests for information about how it was using the pictures, including when the school used Renty Taylor’s image on a book cover.
He called the pictures’ creation “horrific” and said Harvard had “responsibilities to the descendants of the individuals coerced into having their half-naked images captured in the daguerreotypes.”
I’m impressed. Great job by her lawyers prying that out of Harvard.

The court cases usually cited in support of that generally simply state that so-and-so’s parents were US citizens on US soil, therefore so-and-so is a US Citizen.

Not going to CTH. I saw part of an interview earlier where Kash talked about Comey influencing others to threaten violence but didn’t say anything about punishing Comey himself. Is that it?
There is a long interview with Bret Baier. Kash comes across as another ass-covering bureaucrat. It is very disappointing. Whatever has happened, he is just another swamp rat now, it seems.
Dear math and science geniuses I have a couple questions. Kiddo finished 6th grade a month ago, i have him on summer reading now. He is technically 2 years ahead in math.
He just completed Saxon 8/7 which he said was rather repetitive and easy. I struggle greatly w getting him to write the steps. He did nearly all of it, including the prealgebra in his head. Based on this im putting him in Algebra 1 for 7th grade. Saxon offers it but another site here:

Oh, an A in math and low A in science this year.
In these days especially with mechanical crutches, it’s important that he show his work so they know he didn’t cheat with AI, etc. (Maybe if you put it that way he’ll have incentive to do so.) He might still skip some steps, depending on the complexity of the problem.
The biology->chemistry->physics progression has been blamed for a lot of science illiteracy. Biology is probably done first because it’s more “relatable” (at least in some peoples’ opinion). But (according to the criticism) physics should be taught first because chemistry depends on it, and biology depends on chemistry. I’m not sure how you’d go about teaching physics to someone who is only now learning algebra, though!
I can’t really intelligently advise unfortunately, but I’d love to see someone give it a try.
Thx Steve. That dive site said roughly the same. Teach micro to macro. And i agree on the confusion about physics after only alg. 1. Yes ive had my college physics and microbiology but im not good at math. My dad was, mr gil is, so kiddo’s advantage isnt so surprising. I like your explanation about AI. All these things are in the forefront beyond him not being a dei student.
There is a reason that Mathematics is called “Queen of the Sciences”. In fact, I have long advocated that someone taking Calculus A-B-C and Physics A-B-C when starting college take the math early (so as to take Calc A; Calc B and Physics A; Calc C and Physics B; and Physics C). The reason for this is that the Physics courses spend half their time dancing around the math you’re not supposed to understand yet — and go from hard courses to easy ones if you have the math.
That said, math breaks into three main divisions right about where your son is — Analysis, Algebra, and Geometry (college faculty is normally split about 50/45/5). Logic is essential in each division. I would also advise exposure to probability & statistics (“PSTAT”).
My advice — which I personally guarantee will be worth every penny you pay for it — is to encourage him to run as fast as he can through mathematics while maintaining rigor. Make sure he doesn’t get too stuck in a particular division (e.g. have him doing differential equations without touching on matrix algebra). As far as geometry goes, I’ve heard it said that being able to visualize four spatial dimensions in one’s head (e.g. a tesseract) is quite rare, but almost never learned after someone is 20-years-old.
Aside from that, you can let him explore the sciences as his interests direct — because taking life sciences will be easier if he knows pstat; physics will be seriously aided by calculus; chemistry will be easier with pstat and matrix algebra…..
One more peculiar personal note — I absolutely hated biology class, despite having some interest in the subject, because the biology classroom constantly reeked of formaldehyde — to which I am abnormally sensitive. It is difficult to maintain interest in a subject when one is constantly miserable when it is taught.
Last bit first, i used to be a lab aise so on the old school formaldehyde note, i understand. I took a screen shot of your comment. I see courses on logic as well as statistics. I will see if he applies himself better if i dont make him do all the problem work each lesson if he understands the concept. I wont do him any good after algebra 1, personally.
I used to be Very good in math, one of 4 people in a HS of about 1200 that scored high enough on a particular math test to take some very advanced testing. That said, when I was much younger I did Almost All of the math in my head, where it just made sense to me. I had a Very Hard Time showing my work then (late elementary & early junior high). I knew how to do the math & could reason to the right answer most of the time, but did not know how to show my steps as to how I got there. I learned in Junior High & HS how to show my work…eventually. Then it helped me understand the complex processes better.
I explained it to him before we ended school and told him Steve’s pount about cheating and AI. So, hoping he will mature a bit over summer and understand theres always avreason to the process, at least in math.

I took Calc and physics senior year in high school. The math class was first and gave the calculus that was then used in the 2nd period physics class.
It was very obviously coordinated by the teachers/school and really made physics much easier to understand.
Thats what i need to hear since at some point he will need outside instruction w real people to do statistics and adv. Math. Theres only so much you can do on your own.
Interesting! I tend to think that you are getting good recommendations, given that he’s 2 years ahead in math. The “prechemistry” he would be getting in 8th grade sounds very good.
Reading further, the traditional track is too “old fashioned ” in its organization, not necessarily its content. Sooooo he isnt being dumbed down and its likely the path forward.
