Do you sometimes feel forgotten, that the world is cold and hostile? Are you lonely or ignored by loved ones or friends? Does it sometimes feel like God has totally forgotten or forsaken you, left you without experiencing His touch on your life?
Welcome to the story of Joseph. Yes, Joseph was a real person per religious as well as secular historical text. He was a Hebrew and his story is found in the Book of Genesis beginning in Chapter 39. From privilege and being the apple of his deeply respected father’s eye as a child in what is now called Israel; to being sold into slavery by his own jealous brothers; to a prison of Pharaoh in the foreign land of Egypt after being wrongly and evilly accused of attempted rape by the wife of the Captain of Pharaoh’s guard, Potiphar; to being forgotten until the royal Cupbearer told Pharaoh that Joseph could probably interpret his troubling dreams; to the highest position overseeing all of Egypt while reporting directly to Pharaoh due to the Godly wisdom he provided the nation while being held captive. He goes on to forgive his brothers who forsook him and sold him into slavery after making them sweat spear tips for a time. His wisdom and actions not only saved his family from starvation, his faith and actions save everybody in the nation of Egypt as well as all people who came there to trade or stay to avoid the great famines in that region of the world.
Many of you will already know that story. To others it is nothing but that, a story, and they could care less whether it was true or not. However, the reality is that it aligns with known living conditions of the period in Egypt from other archaeological and scientific evidence as well as texts and narratives in that nation’s history. The lesson taken from it is extremely valuable to our lives today no matter whether we believe in God or not.
OK, Trade, why are you bringing this up now? I am doing so because the story about Joseph is one that clearly illustrates what living under God’s Providence in America is also about as the Declaration of Independence states. It seems appropriate to apply its principles today just as it was during the times of its author, Thomas Jefferson. My hope is some will see the important benefits of living under God’s Providence that includes remaining faithful no matter what we face. Doing so should settle their MAGA spirits.
In my opinion we MAGA types need to slow our roll sometimes. Getting all out of sorts, huffy, fearful and impatient will not make justice happen faster. Being diligent and doing our parts as needed and without complaint will get it done in time. We need to remember who is calling the shots in this clean up and it is not us. Whether you personally believe in God or not, many of the people doing the major work successfully do. They have been placed in positions to do so by God and his assigned American redeemer, which is currently Donald J. Trump, along with the leaders of his cabinet, law enforcement and military forces. As long as they do things by the book (Constitution/laws) and THE Book (Holy Bible) it will all turn out as God wills it. Even unbelievers will benefit from the efforts of those who do believe and are faithful.
The Way It Works
Submit to God’s will as Joseph did. Despite being forgotten, lonely, falsely accused, abused, and in prison – he did good works for his captors and never failed to be in communion with God as well as to do His will first and foremost. In the end of the story he forgave his treacherous brothers and saved them from disaster and death. The family was restored and the people of Israel continued to develop.
That’s the secret sauce. It is not enough to acknowledge the God of Joseph exists or that He is powerful. You have to personally place Him first and ONLY in your submission. There can be no other “gods” before Him.
Your freedom comes from your submission to I AM.
You remain faithful and true. You say and do what is right the best ways you can daily no matter the circumstances. You seek God’s face, guidance, forgiveness… and… WAIT. Good things come to people who wait on the Lord to move mountains for them. When it happens, not if it happens, you realize you are never alone. You realize you matter and are loved by the Creator. From that understanding comes freedom and the formerly paralyzing fear dies.

Yes, wait for the Lord.
It feels good to be faithful to God because He is faithful to us without fail. Again, this world is not our home, we are just wayfaring strangers. No matter how far and long we have distanced ourselves from God and other people, there is time to turn it around as long as we are above ground and breathing. If we are honest with ourselves, we all have a prodigal son bone in our bodies that tempts us to stray from these universal truths that are built into our existence of which Jesus addressed in Luke 15. All we need to do is throw off our pride and humbly return to the Father just as Brandon sings below. This song has a personal connection for him per his past comments. It also represents my life all too well – a prodigal son saved from ruination and death by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
THIS is how it works in America under God’s Providence. Return to the Father, I AM, and be healed. Find peace as people and as a nation. Those that foment hateful rhetoric and violence are serving the wrong master. Pray for their change of heart and repentance. May God’s will be done.
Over the next couple of months I will begin tying the loose strings of this series together as we approach our nation’s founding. You will read the words Providential Restoration often.

Yes, I agree. The early King is very good. Later, no so much. Although I will say that 11/22/1963 is one of my favorite books, and it was published in 2011. It’s about a man trying to prevent the Kennedy assassination by going back in time. But the “portal” back only goes to the same time each time, a couple of years before the assassination, so he has to live in the 1950s for a while before he can try to save Kennedy.

It has been going on for a long time, but what really got my attention was the number of people celebrating Luige Mangione’s murder of the Insurance executive. Cold-blooded murder, and they think it was justified. It wasn’t Hitler, just a businessman, and they think someone has a right to end his life. There is no consideration for the impact of that on other people, either. And of course some have thought that about Trump for a long time, but it is totally out in the open now. Not just political disagreement, but hatred and self-justification.
Now that I think about it, it was present during COVID, too—don’t treat the unvaxxed, take away their rights, if they die they deserved it, etc. The godless, unreasoning, uncharitable mindset of people is…I want to say “frightening,” but I don’t mean that I’m afraid. In the bigger picture, watching this develop in real time, it’s akin to watching a movie where you can see what’s happening but can’t stop it.
What has happened is, leftist people have dehumanized anyone they view as an “enemy.” They aren’t “real people” to them, and thus can be hated and “deserve” death.

4. allow the tax board to subpoena your financial records from every one of your financial institutions for auditing.
This Everyone Tax runs 34 pages of shifty language describing how the government plans to take your assets. Read the fine print and decide for yourself. If this were truly a billionaire tax, it would be 3 pages. It’s 34 pages so that it can create the mechanisms to steal from all of you.
Undervalue your house, and you’ll get fined massively, oh and the state will determine what your home is worth.
If the government assesses your asset at more than it’s worth, then you should be able to force the government to purchase it at that value with no commissions, withholdings, or offsets.

We must have a new nature, new principles, new affections, new aims. By our first birth we were corrupt, shapen in sin; therefore we must be made new creatures. No stronger expression could have been chosen to signify a great and most remarkable change of state and character. We must be entirely different from what we were before, as that which begins to be at any time, is not, and cannot be the same with that which was before. This new birth is from heaven, ch. #1:13|, and its tendency is to heaven. It is a great change made in the heart of a sinner, by the power of the Holy Spirit. It means that something is done in us, and for us, which we cannot do for ourselves. Something is wrong, whereby such a life begins as shall last for ever. We cannot otherwise expect any benefit by Christ; it is necessary to our happiness here and hereafter. What Christ speak, Nicodemus misunderstood, as if there had been no other way of regenerating and new-moulding an immortal soul, than by new-framing the body. But he acknowledged his ignorance, which shows a desire to be better informed. It is then further explained by the Lord Jesus. He shows the Author of this blessed change. It is not wrought by any wisdom or power of our own, but by the power of the blessed Spirit. We are shapen in iniquity, which makes it necessary that our nature be changed. We are not to marvel at this; for, when we consider the holiness of God, the depravity of our nature, and the happiness set before us, we shall not think it strange that so much stress is laid upon this. The regenerating work of the Holy Spirit is compared to water. It is also probable that Christ had reference to the ordinance of baptism. Not that all those, and those only, that are baptized, are saved; but without that new birth which is wrought by the Spirit, and signified by baptism, none shall be subjects of the kingdom of heaven. The same word signifies both the wind and the Spirit. The wind bloweth where it listeth for us; God directs it. The Spirit sends his influences where, and when, on whom, and in what measure and degree, he pleases. Though the causes are hidden, the effects are plain, when the soul is brought to mourn for sin, and to breathe after Christ. Christ’s stating of the doctrine and the necessity of regeneration, it should seem, made it not clearer to Nicodemus. Thus the things of the Spirit of God are foolishness to the natural man. Many think that cannot be proved, which they cannot believe. Christ’s discourse of gospel truths, ver. #11-13|, shows the folly of those who make these things strange unto them; and it recommends us to search them out.
Jesus Christ is every way able to reveal the will of God to us; for he came down from heaven, and yet is in heaven. We have here a notice of Christ’s two distinct natures in one person, so that while he is the Son of man, yet he is in heaven. God is the “HE THAT IS,” and heaven is the dwelling-place of his holiness. The knowledge of this must be from above, and can be received by faith alone. Jesus Christ came to save us by healing us, as the children of Israel, stung with fiery serpents, were cured and lived by looking up to the brazen serpent, #Nu 21:6-9|. In this observe the deadly and destructive nature of sin. Ask awakened consciences, ask damned sinners, they will tell you, that how charming soever the allurements of sin may be, at the last it bites like a serpent. See the powerful remedy against this fatal malady. Christ is plainly set forth to us in the gospel. He whom we offended is our Peace, and the way of applying for a cure is by believing. If any so far slight either their disease by sin, or the method of cure by Christ, as not to receive Christ upon his own terms, their ruin is upon their own heads. He has said, Look and be saved, look and live; lift up the eyes of your faith to Christ crucified. And until we have grace to do this, we shall not be cured, but still are wounded with the stings of Satan, and in a dying state. Jesus Christ came to save us by pardoning us, that we might not die by the sentence of the law. Here is gospel, good news indeed. Here is God’s love in giving his Son for the world. God so loved the world; so really, so richly. Behold and wonder, that the great God should love such a worthless world! Here, also, is the great gospel duty, to believe in Jesus Christ. God having given him to be our Prophet, Priest, and King, we must give up ourselves to be ruled, and taught, and saved by him. And here is the great gospel benefit, that whoever believes in Christ, shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life.
God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, and so saving it. It could not be saved, but through him; there is no salvation in any other. From all this is shown the happiness of true believers; he that believeth in Christ is not condemned. Though he has been a great sinner, yet he is not dealt with according to what his sins deserve. How great is the sin of unbelievers! God sent One to save us, that was dearest to himself; and shall he not be dearest to us? How great is the misery of unbelievers! they are condemned already; which speaks a certain condemnation; a present condemnation. The wrath of God now fastens upon them; and their own hearts condemn them. There is also a condemnation grounded on their former guilt; they are open to the law for all their sins; because they are not by faith interested in the gospel pardon. Unbelief is a sin against the remedy. It springs from the enmity of the heart of man to God, from love of sin in some form. Read also the doom of those that would not know Christ. Sinful works are works of darkness. The wicked world keep as far from this light as they can, lest their deeds should be reproved. Christ is hated, because sin is loved. If they had not hated saving knowledge, they would not sit down contentedly in condemning ignorance. On the other hand, renewed hearts bid this light welcome. A good man acts truly and sincerely in all he does. He desires to know what the will of God is, and to do it, though against his own worldly interest. A change in his whole character and conduct has taken place.
The love of God is shed abroad in his heart by the Holy Ghost, and is become the commanding principle of his actions. So long as he continues under a load of unforgiven guilt, there can be little else than slavish fear of God; but when his doubts are done away, when he sees the righteous ground whereon this forgiveness is built, he rests on it as his own, and is united to God by unfeigned love. Our works are good when the will of God is the rule of them, and the glory of God the end of them; when they are done in his strength, and for his sake; to him, and not to men. Regeneration, or the new birth, is a subject to which the world is very averse; it is, however, the grand concern, in comparison with which every thing else is but trifling. What does it signify though we have food to eat in plenty, and variety of raiment to put on, if we are not born again? if after a few mornings and evenings spent in unthinking mirth, carnal pleasure, and riot, we die in our sins, and lie down in sorrow? What does it signify though we are well able to act our parts in life, in every other respect, if at last we hear from the Supreme Judge, “Depart from me, I know you not, ye workers of iniquity?”

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

I completely agree with this.
Wifey had a couple of root canal teeth. Fortunately one decayed sufficiently to be removed and an implant was performed a couple years ago. Her sinus in that region of the jaw improved as the root was extended into the sinus cavity per the x-ray.
As she aged arthritis became a bigger factor. Her mobility began improving over the next few months after the removal. We take a walk of one or two miles everyday the weather is fit now.
She has one more tooth with a root canal that needs removed. Going to show her this as encouragement.

So . . . the good news this morning is that the “gutted fish” is now home from the hospital. The recovery from being cut open from sternum past the navel is going to be vastly easier than the recovery from a split open sternum from the past open heart surgery.
With coming home from (only) 10 days in the hospital comes the very welcomed psychological relief at being surrounded by my own preferred surroundings. In this case, however, the largest positive impact was the physical aspects of being in my own bed and being able to sleep on my side again. I’ve slept on my side all my life and find that having to (try to) sleep on my back results in only 2 or 3 hours of sleep for the entire night, even when being on morphine injections every four hours as I was in the hospital.
Before these latest “niceties” occurred, I was rather pleased that I was maintaining my college grad / military entrance weight of 172 pounds. My current activities have driven me down to a current 147 bony pounds. There is now not a single hard spot to sit on that provides any comfort to my bony butt. However, so far, my digestion difficulties appear to be quite lessened if not removed. A bit of time will tell and undoubtedly rectify this situation.
Anyway . . . I’m rather pleased (understatement) to finally be home again!

The 172 pounds ==> 147 bony pounds is why I am inclined to leave an extra 20 pounds on my fat butt. I have seen way too many elderly people get sick and drop weight very fast. Obese is certainly bad for you but too thin is also.

I’ve advised older folk many times to have an extra 10-20 pounds to make sure that hospital visits require a buffer of weight.
Operations on the thin end up not so good: one *needs* some bodily heft to back-up to weather the stay.
(I always kept my indoor/outdoor cat to have a ‘buffer’ to survive for a few days at least. They have adventures!)

IMO he doesn’t look well. I don’t know if he’s had “work done” around his eyes, or if there’s something else going on.
His demeanor is not what I expected. He doesn’t “laugh off” the charges but is serious and accusing. He says, “But it’s really important that all of us remember this is not who we are as a country. This is not how the Department of Justice is supposed to be. And the good news is we get closer every day to restoring those values. Keep the faith.”
How, exactly, are we “getting closer every day to restoring those values”? Does he mean when PDJT is out of office? There is no guarantee that the next president will be any different. I am very suspicious of Comey and suspect that he means that PDJT could be removed from office any day. IMO he gives off sinister vibes.
I watched it again and noticed that he didn’t blink once in the entire 36-second clip. It’s eerie.

With the increase in assassination attempts, it seems clear that he’s calling for more of the same.

I ask because I’ve been going through my own technical issues and I’m trying to orient myself. While I might get worried if Gail fails to arrive soon, it is well known that WordPiss hates her.
