20200324: CoronaCRISIS/China Crisis Daily Thread + Dear Congress, Please Get Your Act Together

For the time being, given our national emergency, we are switching to DAILY COVID-19/China Virus threads instead of weekly threads. Your comments and updates are most welcome. PLEASE continue to post your valuable information, hard source links, and local observations within these Daily Threads. Additionally, we will try to include links to government and official pressers, so those who no longer have cable can remain informed.

We’ll get through this crisis, together. As a group, there is probably no one better prepared than we are.

For our newcomers: The Q Tree community has been diligent in covering the threat of Coronavirus, COVID19, Wuhan FLU. We started accumulating information about this virus in mid-late January, in what became almost weekly threads. We’ve been weeks, if not months, ahead of MSM outlets to vet rumors and other medical papers, etc.

Primary Update Links:

In our past weekly threads, we assembled information on the following:

  • Primary update links. The dashboard from Johns Hopkins which counts “official” cases all over the world, the CDC, and WHO, and includes the links for our past threads.
  • Hard Data Medical Information- Explanation about testing, reliance on China for drugs, analysis of NE Journal of Medicine results and other published papers.
  • Vaccine and theraputics (new/old drugs to alleviate symptoms) news and updates
  • Trump Administration response (the timeline and links to various agencies)
  • China Responses, timelines, research, attempt to cover actions, or secrecy in results discovered.
  • An aggregate of info/responses from other countries, listed by country.
  • Economic impact from around the world. A change in economic activity will indicate a “return to normal”.
  • Speculation/debunking on how the virus started
  • Media Bias, political response, and debunking section, like the article from AP News, overt bias from Politico, inflammatory headlines, etc.
  • Other medical info to boost immune system, herbal remedies, ways to keep your house clean and NOT spread the virus to others. Excellent information to incorporate into daily lifestyle.
  • Hard links for OTHER valuable sources/blogs and a brief sentence or two about what they provide
  • Other news items

Our weekly updates. timelines, collection of valuable information, can be found here:

Please try to keep your sense of humor during this National Emergency, and remember, patience is a virtue.

Love to all!

I introduce you to the Godzilla of Hydroxychloroquine!

The CDC / FDA / NIH model of drug approval and response was never designed for the realities of 4GW.
The need to rely on academic studies over the course of years is the unfortunate artifact of a system designed with peacetime assumptions in mind . . . a system that in itself, does not work well and has had to repeatedly amended and corrected.
The entire system is fundamentally broken and obsolete even in peacetime.
In the time of 4GW war, it becomes a massive liability that only ensures a rapid increase in unnecessary casualties.
People need innovative, rapid response where front line responders, doctors, and nurses are treated as combat medics in forward operating combat zones that need to be enabled with every capability and authority to engage in battlefield improvisation to combat the enemy.
Prior administrations chose over and over and over and over again to turn a blind eye and look the other way.
This time we will fix it. Our medical capabilities are a critical and strategic NATIONAL SECURITY advantage.
Health Care Security and Medical Agility is National Security.

FANTASTIC POINT – NSA TAKE NOTE

BlackKnightRides

POTUS “Supercomputing Partnership” could become a game-changer (longer term).
• The Self-Administered Swabs coming out this week make it simple and fast.
• EVERYONE will Self-Swab
… by personal preference and likely by SAFETY MANDATE
… ENFORCEABLE via ADMISSION CONTROL to access key events/facilities/services.
• Government gets Swabbed DNA on EVERY RESIDENT in the USA!
• Government gets Finger-Pricked BLOOD SAMPLE on EVERY RESIDENT in the USA!
… as Dr. Birx presaged at yesterday’s presser update.
• Including RESIDENT-LOCATION!
IMPLICATIONS, for starters:
• Massive Simulations to predict progression of Epidemics/Pandemics for rapid Containment & Mitigation & Treatment … and to manage/adapt Supply-Chain Response.
• Massive Simulations to shortcut time for Design and Trials covering Therapies & Vaccines
• Rapid Targeting-and-Tracing of those exposed and infected.
• Containment Policies tailored to Sanctuary Cities/States with high-risk Homeless, Illegals and Migrants.
• Deportation of Illegals and Migrants who pose Infection threats to Citizenry.
• Contributions to improve Election Integrity.

POTUS is setting up to generate a series of BIG SCIENCE SOLUTIONS.
Could create a giant sucking sound, pulling tech stars from Silicon Valley to solve the Challenges of the Century. There may never again be a tsunami of opportunities driven by a GENIUS LEADER like Trump!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Wait a moment.
Not three weeks ago, the idea of government getting a complete database of peoples’ DNA and blood samples would have horrified people here.

Thomas

I’m horrified.

TheseTruths

Still horrified. “Never let a crisis go to waste.” People get distracted and desperate and let their guards down.

BlackKnightRides

Funny how a plan comes together.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

YOu miss my point.
You appear to be CELEBRATING the creation of a genetic database everyone will be in.
Most conservatives, especially of the particular flavor that hangs out on sites like this, would be APPALLED at the prospect that this was about to happen.

BlackKnightRides

You miss my point.
No one will stop this.
If it occurs, POTUS will at least use it for good.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

You’re possibly (I say possibly because I can’t quite figure out what your attitude is here) making a very common mistake among Republicans…they’ll give their President some power, and forget that the President won’t always be one of “our guys” and that the power they gave him will eventually be abused.

Valerie Curren

Makes me think of the concern I felt for the Patriot Act once it was in the hands of someone who wasn’t on Our side…governmental overreach, access, & secrecy on Steroids–Massive Pass.
I’m sure London’s intrusive surveillance state keeps the Brits (& visitors) so safe…& free…/s

When I first saw this story, it said we didn’t know yet whether she had actually died of CCC (ChiComCrud).
Has this changed?

churchmouse

FTA (see second paragraph):
‘Her own clinic only had five test kits available, he said, adding she told him, “I declined to take one so someone else could.”
‘After her condition deteriorated, she finally got tested on March 16 — almost a week after first falling sick — but was told the results would take at least five days, with a further delay meaning they are still not ready, he said.
‘Anderson detailed Ott’s worsening mood and health, as well as her attempts to reassure him that she would be fine if she just drank whiskey.
‘He finally “found her dead in her kitchen” at 8 p.m. Friday while checking up because she had failed to respond to texts or calls.’

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

This is big and important. This is what the ChiComs and PelosiCrats planned for us.
Israeli doctor in Italy: We no longer help those over 60

Deplorable Patriot

That’s just immoral, IMO. We can send them plenty if they are willing to take them given the production capacity.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

If we have equipment to spare, it should go to Italy.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

We are not out of the woods yet (though if the anti-malarial works, then I think we’re getting close).
Even if the anti-malarial works, it takes time to work and I think over the next two weeks a lot more people are going to find themselves getting really, really sick. They’ll need ventilators while the drug goes to work.

Sylvia Avery

Yep.

Aubergine

I have been looking for a comment from you! How are you doing? Better?

Sylvia Avery

I really am. I still have some lingering issues, but I get better every day. I’m so thankful……so many have had it much worse. Thanks Aubergine…..I appreciate your looking out for me.

BlackKnightRides

Hydroxychloroquine success will MASSIVELY REDUCE the need and duration for hospitalization.
It will END the CAPACITY & RESOURCES CRISIS in our Health System.

BlackKnightRides

😂

kalbokalbs

NY results should parallel other hydrocychlorquine Zpackreports we’v read. Some or many receiving hydrocychlorquine Zpack WILL show improvement within 24 hours. We’ll start hearing of these results. Daily, the news will get better.
Late this weekend we’ll hear the existing Fed guidelines of 15 days being modified. Moar focus on states taking the lead in their briar patches. As it should be States Rights AND each area is unique.
We’ll still have travel bans and quarantine on International level.
IMO uneducated view, we should maximize use of hydrocychlorquine Zpack for every CCV positive person. Of course voluntary and tailored to the patients needs.
^^^ This SHOULD already be happening. “Right To Try” IS a huge leap forward.

BlackKnightRides

POTUS was the only leader on the planet who seized on the solution being THERAPIES and accelerated Hydroxychloroquine to the rescue. Literally drove the bureaucrats from their bunkers to git er done.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I expect numbers of cases requiring hospitalization to continue to climb, for at least another week, because even though we’re now taking precautions, this thing has a horrific lag time and people who caught it before we started taking precautions are STILL running around oblivious. Without this drug we’d be in deep, deep trouble soon, because every hospitalization case would run for weeks. (I understand tehat no one who has gone on a ventilator has come off it yet, except by dying.)
The drug takes a day or two to work. That’s a day or two on a ventilator instead of weeks. But with the rapid increase to come, we could STILL run out of ventilators, even if duration is one or two days.
That’s why I said we’re not out of the woods yet.
And of course all of this assumes this drug does actually work, and we’re not just chasing invisible unicorn farts. (Don’t get me wrong, I think it likely will…but that’s only an assumption on my part and I have to keep that in mind.)

BlackKnightRides

The Self-Swab with 45-minute turnaround time will identify cases before they become acute, and the Hydroxychloroquine will both eliminate the infection’s progression per person and halt the spreaders from multiplying infections.
“ONE WEEK to PEAK” will coincide with the end of the “15 Days to Halt the Spread” and begin the “15 Days to Restart the Economy”.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I expect the economy to restart a lot faster than that, whenever that is.
Provided the owner of a small business hasn’t completely shut down with no way to reopen, he’ll *instantly* rehire his old workers.

BlackKnightRides

March WIN.
April RESTART.
May LAUNCH to REINDUSTRIALIZE.
June EMPLOYMENT to NORMAL.
Q3 GDP at 3% and climbing.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It better not only be 3 percent, as it must recover from whatever depth it’s plunged to this quarter.
If GDP…not the GDP *growth rate* which everyone just sloppily calls “GDP”, but the GDP itself, was 100 units the prior quarter, it might end up being 80 this quarter, for a “GDP” or GDP Growth Rate of -20 per quarter or -80 per year (Horrific.) Whereas if the RATE had been 3 percent per year, it should have been 100.75. The quarter after that, it should have been at 101.75.
To get to 101.75 (where we should have been) from 80, would mean a GDP growth rate (or, sloppily) “GDP” of 101.75/80 – 1 = 27.2 percent PER QUARTER, or over 100 percent per year.
So we’d better see a hell of a lot more than 3 percent.

BlackKnightRides

I was referring to GDP Growth Rate.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I know you were.
3 percent next quarter WILL NOT make up for the huge negative number it will be this quarter.

BlackKnightRides

… Relative to Q1

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

OK, gotcha.

Sylvia Avery

On Lou Dobbs Tonight, David Asman interviewed a doctor from U of Minnesota. A young guy in their cardiology department has built a Rube Goldberg ventilator in the shop costing $150.00!!!! Of course, there are all kinds of tests and stuff to go through before it can be marketed…….but still.

Well, that was Oprah’s sick fantasy…she let the cat out of the bag. I wouldn’t put it past them to target patriotic seasoned citizens in this way…comment image

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

That can be read two ways…”we’ll have to kill them” or “we will have to wait on them to die of old age.”
Because she’s talking about people who cannot change their minds.
How often have we talked similarly about the radical, hard core left?

singingsoul1

Harry Lime it was the old white people who made Oprah and the is how she thanks them?
This tells more how prejudice and racist she is.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

This sounds like THEIR socialized medicine is taking its cues from our FDA and FAKE NEWS, and not TRUMP/CDC and American independent medicine.
This is exactly why socialism FAILS so routinely. Truth can be blockaded by POLITICS where needed.
When this is over, I predict socialist medicine will be DEAD in Italy. This will be their version of “thalidomide”.
There is no reason they shouldn’t have been massively trying HCQ/AZM immediately when it hit the news.

singingsoul1

That is sad !

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Very interesting – this stuff could affect NERVES – so it’s in some ways a VIRAL low grade NERVE GAS.

Yes, part of the potential lasting damage is damage to the central nervous system. This is some shit they brewed up for us.

coosmama

I know it is yahooooo lifestyle, but UK ENT published a paper by Claire Hopkins, PhD, King’s College, London, discussing loss of smell in CV patients. Article ends with “everybody stay home” but spidey senses are kicking in.
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/coronavirus-patients-doctors-seem-to-be-temporarily-losing-their-sense-of-taste-and-smell-heres-why-213029665.html

churchmouse

Today, I watched one of the morning shows, Good Morning Britain, and Piers Morgan (co-host) asked Dr Hilary Jones, the show’s doctor (he’s been on the show’s various incarnations since 1989), about that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilary_Jones_(doctor)
He said that not everyone gets those sensory losses with coronavirus. He added that one can also lose those senses through other illnesses. (True. It happened to my late mother many years ago when she caught a virus. Eventually, they came back, but it took a few years.)
Boris Johnson put us on a three-week lockdown last night (Monday): everyone MUST stay home unless they absolutely MUST go somewhere. Police to enforce.
The French have been on lockdown for two weeks or so now. If I understood correctly, it was extended yesterday.
They have to print a form every day that they can present to the police on request. The form states where they are going that day. They are allowed only one trip outdoors per day, including walking the dog! The police DO check.

churchmouse

Re France, I found an article on their lockdown.
They’ve only been on it for around a week. Seems longer, because coronavirus has been the main topic of conversation on the RMC (radio) talk show I listen to on weekdays.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has toughened certain elements of it. If one goes out for a run, it can be no longer than one hour in duration and/or a maximum of one kilometre from one’s house.
People are forbidden from going to open-air markets unless that is the only place they can buy fresh food (likely to be the case in villages). Mayors can impose local curfews, if they like.
Funeral attendance is limited to 20 people.

🦋🤸‍♀️🦋bflyjesusgrl🦋🤸‍♀️🦋

CM, Is it true that Boris still hasn’t stopped incoming flights nor closed borders??

churchmouse

That is true.
They’re flying in from everywhere, including Iran, Italy and China, as Nigel Farage says.

🦋🤸‍♀️🦋bflyjesusgrl🦋🤸‍♀️🦋

That’s INSANE!! Praying for your good health and safety friend, God Bless You.

churchmouse

It is mad, isn’t it?
Furthermore, there is no testing done at airports, not even a temperature scan. The government says that temperature scans are unreliable. I’m not so sure. Of course, we’ll never find out the truth about any infections these passengers might be bringing with them.
Thank you for your good wishes — greatly appreciated!
God bless you, too, bfly!

Aubergine

I hadn’t really thought about it, but when I had what I am fairly certain was CCP virus, I couldn’t smell or taste a thing.
That has happened to me before with upper-respiratory/sinus type illnesses, so I didn’t think much of it, and it all came back in about three weeks.

coosmama

Three thoughts here. The oral medicines are working, so new msm talking points about loss of taste and smell keep the panic level up. Saw another article yesterday from Daily mail about loss of taste. No previous mention of a neuro connection, now 3 or 4 articles on the same day? Same with medicines are deadly, don’t use them. Quackgrass! 4am’s?
Second thought, with any inflammatory process there can be neuronal damage from pinching off circulation and nerves (like when your foot goes to sleep). This usually resolves when inflammation goes down. Can be permanent depending on how long the blockage lasts and ehere it is located.
I cannot find any literature yet that supports loss of taste or smell with previous SARS. Not saying this isn’t real, just haven’t found studies yet. Just seems like msm to take a temporary situation as Aubergine describes, and suddenly gin it up to panic level.
Thirdly, for WOLFIE, at 3/23/20 presser, at approx 7:15-7:16 pm-ish, Dr. Brix talks about backtracking the seeding. She said (paraphrasing) that at hospitalization, the virus had already substantionally been circulating in that area 3-4 weeks prior. She then went on to say that 4-6 weeks ago, some of the “flu-like” illnesses could have been CV. If you back up incubation 2 weeks prior to that, CV HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIONALLY CIRCULATING IN SOME AREAS HERE since approx Jan 23rd, 2020, which they are willing to publicly admit.

Valerie Curren

“I hadn’t really thought about it, but when I had what I am fairly certain was CCP virus, I couldn’t smell or taste a thing.” I’m having slightly less but similar symptoms.
I’ve also had intermittent days of complete exhaustion like I’m still sick, then the next day it passes.
I had the strangest bout of a near non-stop dry cough the other day for like a half hour. Got a strange swelling on the side of my tongue (thought it was a “popcorn skin” or something) that went away after a day or two. I’m getting strange dry flaky skin on one palm–something I’ve never had in my life…hmm…

My husband spent time in Panama as a soldier.
They used to have BOWLS OF MALARIA PILLS SITTING ON EVERY TABLE IN THE MESS HALL.
Soldiers were given free access. Hubby didn’t know you were only supposed to take one a day. He took one at every meal until someone finally told him. 😂
No ill effects whatsoever.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Well, that shows someone in the Army was silly.
Put the bowls out only at one meal, if it’s a one-a-day thing. Otherwise someone WILL quite reasonably assume that it’s supposed to be taken every time it’s offered (don’t offer things that shouldn’t be accepted). Hubby wasn’t as ignorant as someone else was.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

You know what this tells me? Some people probably discussed things, and decided it was MORE DANGEROUS for some people to take NONE, than for some people to take TOO MANY. Which again, speaks to the idea that it’s pretty darn safe.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Interesting point.
Yet I can’t see how passing the bowl around at dinner (and only dinner) would lead to a likelihood of that.
It seems more likely to me that passing it around at every meal could lead to, “Oh, I had that at breakfast so I won’t do it now for lunch” when in fact the person had NOT had it at breakfast.

grandmaintexas

Excellent point.

NYGuy

I have read the same story from NBC, NPR and Axios. None of them ever mentioned it was fish tank cleaner they ingested. Nor did they mentioned the package is plainly marked “not for human consumption.”
This is realy nasty stuff the media is doing.

sic…really

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yes – the media are really showing a side which is intentionally misleading.
In fact, they’re almost WORSE THAN CHINA – if that’s possible!

Here’s a source for what I mentioned above about building a cheap simple ventilator for 150.00. What I saw was on Lou Dobbs Tonight and this is from MSN but it’s interesting info. FTA:
“Univeristy of Minnesota Anesthesiology fellow Dr. Steve Richardson started work on his ventilator last Sunday, sourcing equipment and resources from biomedical engineer friends and other private companies.
Within hours of starting, Richardson finished a simple, effective prototype that he is now perfecting.
He says if the FDA clears a path for production, he could scale it quickly, producing thousands within three weeks at a fraction of the cost of a traditional hospital ventilator.”

kea

Are you feeling any better?

Sylvia Avery

Thanks kea, yes I am. I still have a bit of a cough and I’m still very fatigued. I take two long naps during the day just to get through! But even that is improving slowly. I figure I’m one of the lucky ones.

kea

Glad to hear it!!! 🙂

Sylvia Avery

Just wanted to let you guys know I’m doing better. Improving daily. Slight residual cough, and still fatigued but both of those things continue to improve.
Was watching TV today and saw somewhere on FOX someone mentioning working with a drug called Losartan to treat WuFlu. Jaw drop. I take that for high blood pressure. Now I’m wondering if that’s why my bout of WuFlu has been so light? That and the Vitamin C…………

cthulhu

Whatever it takes, dear Sylvia, heal quickly……your shining shovel of vengeance is needed at the front.

Sylvia Avery

Thank you cthulhu!!! I look forward to joining the fight!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

That is one heck of a great observation, Sylvia! I’ll bet you’re right. You “flattened the curve” of your own infection with that drug, I’ll bet.

Sylvia Avery

Interesting, too, Wolfie because they initially said that those with high blood pressure were considered at higher risk. That concerned me, until I read one doctor who was being interviewed and the doctor was asked point blank about HBP and he said if the condition was well controlled he thought it would not be then be a risk factor. Of course, it’s all speculation because so much is unknown still.

Gudthots

Something to consider. I believe the last reported number of Americans with a chronic health condition was 60%. And of that 60%, probably over half have more than one chronic condition.
So the majority of our population is on one or more drugs for various conditions. How does the number of people using inhalers, ARBs and even ACE inhibitors change the American curve?
BTW: the CCP MCM chant of “we are going to be worse than Italy” has fallen apart as today someone posted that Italy did NOT even consider using CQ+Z for treatment.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Italy is in trouble.

I attended the RSA Conference 2018, just the expo ($150). Gave a fake address, and email (though real name) and called myself “Consultant” for organization “self”. I’m amused that more of the attendees did not do likewise.
About 30% of the booths were about “ensuring the identity of the person with which you’re engaging.” It has evidently caught their attention that I’m using emails linked to “Willy Pete”, “Cranston Snord”, “Paul Bunyan”, “Fred Flintstone”, and the like — and setting them up with 2nd factor phone numbers from random passers-by. How are they supposed to concoct data to frame you for crimes if you aren’t the person listed on the account and haven’t been near the cellphone linked to the account for months?

hey…hi everybody…usually around ths time of year, I start to post the upcoming Hurricane predictions for ppl who might be interested in that subject, so…

I think the storm is already upon us.
But some hurricane predictions might lighten the mood…

ok then…let’s start with the very bizarre namescomment image

Sadie Slays

I’ll make a bet right now that “Omar” shows up in October during Election season.

smiley2

ha ha….I noticed that OMAR name, too, with a wince.

kalbokalbs

Hopefully Omar flushed in November. Along with PLT (AOC)…

Valerie Curren

No Q, U, X, Y, & Z names?…pretty discriminatory. I hope they switch the male/female line up…but given Katrina vs Kyle that seems at least possible…
Quinton vs Quianna
Ulysses vs Ursula
Xavier vs Xena
Yusef vs Ynez
Zeppo vs Zerusha

smiley2

how about Quinoa …the one and only time I consumed some of that in a salad I made, my digestive tract went into a Cat 5 state of rebellion.

GA/FL

My daughter has the same response to Quinoa!
She’s also now a gluten intolerant…so there’s that.

smiley2

the thing ab quinoa is it must be rinsed well, before cooking it…it is not a grain…it’s a seed..and the quinoa seeds carry a substance on them that can be extremely toxic to most ppl if not thoroughly rinsed prior to cooking/eating…like severe food poisoning…. I did not know that til I got outrageoulsy sick one night…looked it up online, thinking I had SEVER food poisoning, and learned ab the rinsing… I forget the name of the bacterial toxin…but I know I will NEVER partake of quinoa again…even with rinsing…plently of good healthy American-grown grains to choose from without having to consume any TRENDY & risky left-wing bizarre exotics from hell hole 3rd world countries…jmo.

GA/FL

“plently of good healthy American-grown grains to choose from without having to consume any TRENDY & risky left-wing bizarre exotics from hell hole 3rd world countries…jmo.” Ain’t that the truth!
I feel the same way about sea weed, and a bunch of other exotic stuff.

Valerie Curren

Yikes!

GA/FL

Is it supposed to be a light or heavy Hurricane season?

kalbokalbs

Truly NOT the sharpest tool in the shed.
Honestly asking, who cares about hurricane predictions? To me, it is click bate. Hurricane season predictions are too commonly wildly out to lunch. Spins up MCM, click bait…
BUT, 100%, I believe in preparations for severe weather, disasters… Including when I lived in areas commonly effected by hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, flooding…
Probably in the minority.

GA/FL

President Trump retweeted:
“Our experience suggests that hydroxychloroquine should be a first-line treatment for Covid-19.
We can use it to save lives and prevent others from becoming infected,” write @DrJeffColyer and Daniel Hinthornz

Fuhgeddaboudit!
“Republicans had a deal until Nancy Pelosi rode into town from her extended vacation. The Democrats want the Virus to win? They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies. They want Open Borders & Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!”

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

YES! POTUS is absolutely 100% on the money here.
We have basically BAITED THE SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS INTO THE OPEN USING THEIR OWN SCHEME. This DEMOCRAT/CHINA VIRUS was all about INSTALLING SOCIALISM.
Well, TO HELL WITH THEIR PLOT.
We have two choices –
EMBRACE THE SUCK OF SOCIALISM and their horrible attempts to avoid the cures and stay FEARFUL….
…..or…..
GET CURED AND GET BACK TO WORK.
Time to FIX THIS SHIT. FIX the virus and then FIX the economy and then POINT TO ITALY AND THE MURDEROUS EFFECTS OF PC POLICIES in both IMMIGRATION and SOCIALIST MEDICINE.

GA/FL

According to the FL stats – the guidelines and travel shutdowns are working!
See 10 week trend on first page here – *https://floridadisaster.org/globalassets/covid-19-data—daily-report-2020-03-23-2220.pdf
Decline in new cases may show effectiveness of stopping foreign travel to hot spots, shutdown and social distancing guidelines….plus nursing home/hospital crack down on visitors.
There is no sign of virulent spread in our county – all cases related to travel.
The most virulent spread is still in Miami/Dade/Palm Beach and around cruise ports Tampa, Jacksonville.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME
Now that is a Governor that wants to protect his state!

Local news reports that the local supermarket chain just banned reusable bags. Environmentalists BTFO.

Sadie Slays

You know what’s even funnier? The same chain stopped carrying plastic bags a few months, started charging for paper bags, and was strongly pushing people to buy their branded reusable bags before the pandemic hit. Not feeling the least bit sorry that this backfired bigly. People forgot that a lot of things the environmental Nazis rail against were there for hygienic reasons. Nobody is going to want to use a reusable straw when this is over with. Reusable bags are probably on the way out, too.

Thomas

It just highlights the inability of progs/libs/dems to process “cause and effect” and to understand the “pebble in a pond” concept.
The facts that liberals/dems/progs deny: life is hard, not fair and if you are a dumbass you get whacked

“Starting to wonder why in the heck the medical community is so opposed to trying something new?”
1) Don’t want to anger the pharmaceutical companies giving them kickbacks.
2) Don’t like having “uppity” patients challenging their prescription.
I’ve dealt with #1 and #2 personally long before this virus. Not surprised in the least that doctors are reluctant to prescribe something that isn’t brand name and approved by their local pharmaceutical rep. It’s all about money and ego. I hope the chloroquine stuff red pills (lol) the rest of America on how truly corrupt the medical and pharmaceutical industries are.

Sadie Slays

And all these pharmaceutical companies donating chloroquine? They are not your friends. They:
– Fudge safety testing to put dangerous drugs on the market that are only recalled when X amount of people die
– Produce pesticides that harm us (Bayer/Monsanto)
– Stop making beneficial drugs if not profitable enough (e.g. Teva creating a shortage of childhood cancer drugs because it wasn’t profitable enough)
– Push puberty blockers for children (Teva, again)
– Withhold cures from us (according to Q)
Chloroquine that they produce for penny on the dollars isn’t a fraction of the reparations they should pay for the amount of human suffering and death they’ve caused. Remember that every time you read some feel good fluff piece about these companies.

Deplorable Patriot

Along those lines, I got to thinking about the phamas that are NOT offering to help out: Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZenica.

This is the mindset of people who are heavily, heavily regulated (used to being told “no”) AND have to worry about being sued.
Any doctor who does medicare has to do things the way medicare wants them done.
There’s an entire profession (called “coders”) whose job it is to make sure the right medicare treatment or disease number (I’m not sure which) is put on every form; if they screw that up the doctor doesn’t get paid; and medicare doesn’t pay enough to cover expenses (including the “coder”‘s salary.
Imagine doing your job if you had to stop and worry about filling out the paperwork correctly at every turn.

Teagan

Steve, called (at least when started)…DRG= Diagnose Related Disease.
Our hospital was among the first 20 in the country to try it in the trial stages…went to DC many times for meetings. Just assigning code numbers and a fair estimate of payment, what was included, setting up a computer system,…took an enormous effort with lots of trial and error.
Like many things (reusable grocery bags) the intent was probably a good thing. But, like many things a lot gets lost through the cracks.
Original purpose of DRG…leveling the playing field for hospital procedures for patients (self-pay), as well as competing hospitals. Example, let’s say there are 4 hospitals within a 10 mile radius and you need an appendix operation. The DRG says all those 4 hospitals will get paid the same amount by your insurance or self-pay, no matter what the hospital charges. Therefore it behooves the hospital to charge what they are going to reimbursed…otherwise they eat the extra cost.
Now, within that DRG, it was VERY specific (and limiting.) Going back to the appendix example…that appendix DRG #2567 included 2 blood tests, 2 days in the hospital, etc. if the patient stayed 3 days the hospital ate the cost.
Of course, over the years there’s a thousand clever ways to get around it as will happen with most things financial. But, it did help the finance department with budgets because it reduced the challenges to insurance companies for reimbursement…if you followed the rules.
And, this really helped hospitals in low-income areas…perhaps one of the primary reasons it originated. (This, BTW, was in the mid to late 80’s, if I recall correctly)
BUT, it was STRONGLY resisted by the medical staff because it took all control away from them, and they could no longer make judgments for each patient. Example, elderly Mr. Smith in the hospital with equally elderly Mrs Smith his only caregiver. Family doctor, knowing the situation, often kept Mr in the hospital for a week to give Mrs a rest. No longer allowed with DRG.
Not to belabor it, but it can be compared to public schools vs, private…or countries with socialized medicine having private hospitals with all the bells and whistles.
A somewhat simplistic elaboration of what Steve was referring to in his post above.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I just get mindblown when I visit a doctor and he has a small army of people whose job it is to file insurance paperwork…and no one seems to realize that’s a HUGE cost the insurance system adds to healthcare. Sure, they brag about their low overhead–because they’ve pushed it off onto the doctors!!!
A doctor who got rid of all that crap would no doubt be able to offer routine and even somewhat non-routine medical care for a reasonable price.

Teagan

Steve, I know many who have tried and it never seems to work out for them…unless it’s one of those old-fashion, not out to make a million before age 40 practices….usually family practices. Few and far between these days, like farmers.
My new doctor requires payment at time of visit (like in the old days)…still submits the paperwork to your insurance, but doesn’t have to wait months to get paid. I’d probably do the same.
One of my workout friend’s husband is an OB/GYN in a very active group…she says the group is barely making it financially. I say, it’s a poorly managed practice because that should be a lucrative field.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Then that new doctor still has to pay the expense of the paperwork.
You’ve touched on another irritation. I go to a doctor or dentist, get checked out or whatever, and they send me out the door without making me pay anything.
Two months later, I get a bill for some piddling amount because insurance didn’t QUITE cover it. It probably cost them three bucks just to generate and mail the bill, and it will cost me fifty cents or more to stick a stamp on my check–for a bill that’s less than fifteen bucks.
In the case of my old dentist, it was invariably a bill for $3.26. I would beg them to let me pay it while I was there and save us BOTH the hassle…no dice.

Gudthots

Some doctors do this by taking cash only at the time of service. Yes, they fill out a “super bill” form for you but it’s on you to file it.
Other practices offer what they call a “concierge” service. Essential it’s like a club membership where you pay a nominal amount each month and they commit to taking care of you when you need it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yes, I’ve heard of that and I wish there were more like them.
Perhaps whatever reform we push could incentivize this.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

This is how Obamacare forced my old doc out of business. Obama and Jarrett did an enormous amount of damage to insurance itself, between legislation and “off-the-books negotiations”, and those controls cascaded down to the doctor relationship with patients. Even though I was not ON an Obamacare policy, the Obammunists drove all the companies to become draconian and one-size-fits-all in their policies that doctors had to obey. My doc refused to practice under such control. The limitations on what he could do became intolerable to him.
“Communism hidden behind capitalism”.

Gudthots

Insurance companies are just another set of Mafia organizations.

This is the current day doctor’s greatest complaint – the HUGE MASS of paperwork!!!

And these meds are cheap, like dirt cheap. Cash pay for genrric z-pack around 35.00, a course of hydroxychloroquine about 15.00. A 50 buck answer doesn’t make anybody a profit.

coosmama

Just start treatment if you are symptomatic. These are outpatient meds, written every day of the year. If the test comes back negative, feel free to stop taking them, or finish them and maybe they help your resistance. If it is positive, you are already hours or even days ahead of the virus.

TheseTruths

“Starting to wonder why in the heck the medical community is so opposed to trying something new? Wondering if it could have something to do with malpractice insurance”
Yes, liability is a huge issue. Insurance rates are high and doctors are accountable to medical boards. Being sued for malpractice — even unjustly — is very stressful. Liability is one reason there is so much paperwork to fill out at doctor’s offices and hospitals.
My understanding is that a drug that has already been approved by the FDA can be used for off-label purposes. But some doctors might be remuctant to try it. It takes someone like Pres. Trump to cut through the red tape.

Thomas

“Unable to prescribe” is “doc speak” for: “This drug has not been formally approved by the FDA and, if I give it to you and it doesn’t work, you will sue me.” It’s why I quit being a lawyer.

Gudthots

The state medical boards work hand and glove with the medical guild (AMA) to protect their turf.
If you won’t play by the rules and follow their purposefully useless protocols, you go on a watch list. Then they try to trap you into something where they can justify pulling your license.
If you are playing by their rules, they overlook certain things.
If you put the patient first and stay curious about alternative ideas, it will be war and they will be happy to bankrupt you with lawsuits, fines, smear campaigns and worse.
EVERY DOCTOR knows about this and not all are willing to take risks.
Especially if they’ve seen a colleague be made an example.

Valerie Curren

Wow, this really reminds me of what we encountered in a major Special Education Legal Battle on behalf of our disabled son…
I used to train myself using WrightsLaw.com in the art of advocacy & bone up on special ed law. Pete Wright is a big proponent of using the existing law to leverage services for your child. In our prior legal battle w/ our school district the professor running the Disability Law Clinic at a nearby university, that was helping me periodically, told me that I “understood special ed law better than 98% of the parents” he’d worked with & he wanted me to consider going to law school later on so I could apply that knowledge on behalf of others…but that was not to be my density…I mean my destiny!
Anyway we requested a Due Process Hearing to attempt to get our son’s needs met, following the Pete Wright formula, at least as I understood it. In the research phase I ran across material that revealed that the state is presumed to have done it’s job properly so any issues in question, the burden of proof is on the families…well you can imagine how that goes statistically. About the same numbers as those who tangle with the FBI or Dept of (IN) Justice!
In our state, Michigan, once students reach the age of majority, if not under guardianship, they are presumed to act in the role of the parent & have decision-making authority in special ed matters. SpEd law makes provision (supposedly) for all needed services to be provided at no cost to the child or the family & that theoretically includes legal representation (assuming you can find any)…Also Michigan has strictly interpreted the issue of “frivolous” lawsuits so that if you lose your case you can be liable for the other side’s attorney’s costs…
Anyway we sought input from an attorney who had partially won a battle against our particular school district in areas included in our “case”, especially autism & transition. We had finally found an attorney who was willing to meet w/us for $500/hr, but the first “hour” wasn’t timed. He basically said he knew the other attorney we’d wanted to speak with & she’d recently experienced a $300,000 fine for a “frivolous” law suit on behalf of another special ed family. It was nearly impossible to find Any attorney to work w/ SpEd cases in MI, let alone to get “free” help.
Interestingly, we were considering going to the Hearing without counsel (free, since we couldn’t afford the lawyer, though we had a family member who was willing to help w/ a max of $20,000 for the process–the lawyer wanted 20G up front to even take the case, & he discouraged us from pursuing it further). If we went w/out an attorney our disabled son would be required to act as his own counsel & we would not even be allowed to speak up on his behalf. I was planning to write a “script” for him to assist with the process if he ultimately decided to proceed.
Anyway, our son decided “under pressure” to drop the suit. My husband was fearful that if we proceeded with the Hearing & lost that we could lose our home as the school district/state sought their costs from us. We later spoke to our son’s primary care doctor & she declared that pretty much all the high-functioning autism spectrum special ed kids were not having their needs appropriately (& lawfully) addressed but if they were “their own guardian” at age 18 were pretty much unable to put on a due process case to address the issues using the system processes…How could Any teenager grasp the magnitude & complexity of SpEd issues that may have been metastasizing for years & act as their own attorney?
I’ve written about this unjust process at my blog a few times including this initial post:
https://specialconnections.wordpress.com/2016/02/18/commenting-on-only-the-rich-will-have-rights-article/
Well that was a rabbit trail off the current beaten path, but it still really angers me when I think of how a system set up to purportedly care for & address the needs of some of the most vulnerable among us is instead the instrument of cruelty, indifference, & incompetence. I could go on but what’s the point…
I guess I was riffing on your “every doctor” comment but inserting “lawyer willing to help special needs families”…it’s definitely a proceed at your own extreme peril scenario of brutality–how incredibly sad…

France — coronavirus sufferer lives to tell the tale.
Today’s special guest on the RMC (radio) talk show I listen to is a television show producer:

She lives in one of the most exclusive parts of Paris and got tested straightaway. (Comments in the tweet above are, rightly, critical of that.)
This happened around March 7. She had a fever that night and a cough the next day. She went to Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital and got tested. On Sunday, she was told the results were positive. She then had to notify everyone she’d met with on that Thursday and Friday to tell them they would have to self-isolate. Two of the people then got it, one of whom she had a long taxi ride with on one of those days.
The hospital gave her masks and sent her home to recuperate. She used a separate bathroom in her home. Her children brought her meals every day and left them outside her bedroom door.
She said it was like a mild case of the flu, including general fatigue. Several days later, she felt much better. Then the next day, she had a bit of a relapse, this time with chills*. So, she stayed home for a few more days then returned to work.
It all sounded rather banal.
FIN (The End)
* Someone contacted Dr Hilary Jones on Good Morning Britain saying that she and her husband had a relapse. He told them to stay at home for another five or seven days (can’t remember which), but the point is to stay indoors in those circumstances.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Thank! This is very similar to my case, in that it was biphasic – getting better with what feels like a relapse.
I first felt shortness of breath a few days into the FIRST phase, but didn’t really notice it AS MUCH during the second phase. When I noticed it MORE was weeks later, during another period of what I believe is unrelated congestion.

churchmouse

Unrelated congestion now that seems worse possibly because of damage incurred from the first/relapse illness?
It will be interesting to read your updates as well as those in the months to come of others/those who have had coronavirus.
It was heartening to read all the suggestions you received to relieve the congestion. Looking forward to finding out which ones worked.
I just heard on RMC (France) that there are after-effects of coronavirus: **respiratory** and kidney difficulties. That confirms what you have been saying all along.
Hope you find a remedy in the not too distant future. We need you, Wolf! 🙂

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Thanks! I’m having a rough morning. Sleep without respiratory difficulty is a real gift. But then I wake up to the reality of shortness of breath.
I don’t fear death. When it finally comes, I will welcome it. But I would like as much time for MAGA as I can get.

Sincerest commiserations, Wolf. You are in my prayers.
Re MAGA, I know what you mean:

churchmouse

UK update.
Still no mention here of the drugs PDJT wants to use, outside of readers’ comments on a British political blog I read.
Boris put us on lockdown last night (Monday), effective immediately.
Too many people were out and about at the weekend and too close together when they should have been at home.
During that time, MPs were debating the Coronavirus Bill which they all approved — even with only around 30 (max) sitting in the chamber, all spaced evenly on the benches. This will be our version of the Patriot Act, with provisional reviews every six months. It’s only supposed to last for two years. I won’t hold my breath on that one.
This will be the most draconian bill that the Commons has ever passed. It’s now with the House of Lords, which can return amendments. I doubt they will object to any of it.
It was breathtakingly awful to see both sides of the Commons agree on everything in this bill, by and large. So sad. I wrote about it on mine today.
Now to summarise Boris’s lockdown orders. He made the televised announcement alone in Downing Street. It only took five minutes.
The lockdown is three weeks long, initially.
Re social distancing, we were having to space ourselves one metre apart. That distance is now two metres.
We also cannot meet with friends or any family members who do not live in our home.
A load of shops will have to close for the duration: barbers, hairdressers, beauty establishments, most retail stores, including department stores, clothing stores, boutiques, etc.
Restaurants, pubs and cafes remain closed from last Friday’s announcement.
Bike shops can stay open (exercise). Bicycles are one of Boris’s favourite ways to get around, along with buses.
Post offices and hardware stores can also stay open, as can food shops and pharmacies. And newsagents.
Petrol stations and garages will be open, too.
No house repairs or refurbishment can take place during this time. Building construction, it seems, is also forbidden.
We must stay at home all of the time except for brief sorties for groceries or things from the pharmacy or newsagents.
That’s about as specific as it gets, although when Michael Gove, a prominent Cabinet minister, appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain to talk to Piers Morgan, Gove got child custody arrangements muddled but gave the correct answer minutes later on BBC Breakfast. Gove also gave an answer about construction work that contradicted Sadiq Khan’s understanding of the situation.
Piers went ballistic, even though he was happy that Boris ‘finally’ confined us to our homes.
Strangely, most of the British public were thrilled that Big Daddy Boris put us on lockdown. WTH?!?
Anyway, below are the tweets of the day from Piers Morgan and Michael Gove. I rarely watch breakfast shows but I had to, because we have work in the house planned during this period. I wanted to know if we needed to cancel. Yes, we do.
I have to agree with Piers that Michael Gove lacked crucial specifics.

If motor vehicle inspections came up, I missed it:

https://twitter.com/LifeOfDede/status/1242418098503929856
Oh, I have our local hospital update, the last until the lockdown is over (I won’t be seeing my source until then). There is only one coronavirus patient now. The other one died. 124 beds are empty in ICU. As I said yesterday, that’s the lowest ICU bed occupancy in that hospital in 80 years.
That said, 19 people tested positive there for coronavirus. They were sent home. I don’t know the particulars.

Deplorable Patriot

Cross posting from the open thread. Just my own thoughts.
It occurs to me, listening to this particular swamp creature slam the podium as pissed off as he is, this exercise of Pelosi returning to the district and throwing half the tool box into the stimulus bill was/is another trap the Democrats fell into.
At every turn, the Republicans, the president, etc., are hammering the litany of the wish list giving it exposure. None of that was meant to see the light of day. Pelosi jumped at the bait. It’s probably her last shot at it.
Talk about sitting back and enjoying the show. Frustrating, and really sad that we have to go through the virus protocols while we watch and wait, but we are witnessing the exposure of the leftist agenda, and the stake through the heart that’s going to kill it as they try to take advantage of the situation.
And it was probably by Trump team design.

Maybe this is a stretch, but wasn’t Pelosi partying in Venice, Italy last summer?
I would love to trace all the movements of these damnable characters during the months before the CCPVirus hit.

a little Ground Report from Naples, Fl….
I joined the fray for the early morning stampede at one of the many local Publix Supermarkets designated as the 7-9 am Seniors Only shopping time before the stores open at their new, later hour of 9 am to the General (Younger) Public…Publix here in Naples has been doing an EXCELLENT job herding cats and restocking shelves as fast as they can…while also breaking up fights, answering constant complaints, directing The Lost & Greedy into the proper aisles, rationing paper products in a Pleasant Way…and sticking to their standard that The Customer Is Always Right…
I was astounded at the amount of Seniors who showed up starting at around 6:15 am until the doors swung…swang… open at 7….the line literally wrapped around the outside of the store and the parking lots were filled to the max…
as I was standing in line, maybe the 6th person in front, with my cart, my plastic gloves on and my cowboy kerchief dowsed in Clorox pressed to my mouth, I couldn’t help but hear behind me a loud mouth man venting about how “this President” wasn’t doing his job…
if this President was doing his job the way he’s supposed to, and listen to that doctor…what’s his name? ..that doc who REALLY knows what he’s talking about ? fergit his name…but Trump’s to blame fer this..
I turned around to get a good look at the Know Nothing, and we locked eyes…he nodded his head at me, thinking I agreed with him, and held up his one hand rubbing his 2 fingers together, saying he’s only in it fer the almighty doller
so I said: who ? Doctor Fauci ? that Doctor?
hale no ! Trump ! all he cares about is the money !
so I looked right at him and said to him : maybe you are IGNORANT of this but President Donald J. Trump donated $100,000 of his 4th quarter 2019 income to HHS specifically to help with this coronavirus…
…and, I said further: your hero Dr Fauci penned love letters to that crook Hillary Clinton…
so there.
but then, before I could say anything else, one of the 2 police who were standing guard at the entrance started to kinda mosey on up to my part of the line there, so I just smiled, nodded my head and left it at that..

Volgarian8301

Good for you!! I love Publix and glad we are finally getting some closer here.
Be careful soaking your kerchief in bleach…fumes can irritate those bronchial tubes. Try a piece of vacuum bag inside the layers…makes a good filter

smiley2

hey good idea, the vacuum bag…it wasn’t really soaked in Clorox…I just spritzed a tiny bit of Clorox all-purpose cleaner onto it, lightly, before heading out…it wasn’t fumey…not like heavy bleach…nowadays with this crud all over south Florida, I just spritz Clorox on instead of perfume, lol. (just kidding…kinda). 🙂

Some seamstresses are making masks and including a pocket for a piece of vacuum bag. If it’s safe enough for those of us “close up and personal” should be good for grocery shopping. I hear ya on the perfume. I smell like straight up alcohol from the hand sanitizer

209 hospitalized with confirmed coronavirus in FL.

That last is good news, and (I’ll be honest) a bit earlier than expected, given how long it takes this thing to present itself. If not, all we are seeing is they’re a few days ahead of other places.
Of course the “Democrat hell-hole” environment is generally a densely packed city where you have to watch out for your neighbor two doors over getting his elbow in your eye. That alone will increase the transmission rate–no way to keep people apart.

My suspicion is that there are more illegals in those counties, working on and servicing cruise ships – cruise ship cleaning, cooking, etc. My suspicion – cruise ships offered work for travel (aka smuggling illegals into USA).

FLORIDA COUNTY NUMBERS 11 am update.
13,100 tests performed
1,000 pending
1412 confirmed positive tests
209 hospitalized
18 deaths
2 more cases in Tallahassee/Leon County – 100% travel related.
Some counties still have 0 cases – all tests negative.
Most virulent spread in Democrat hell-holes of Broward/Dade, etc.
No sign of wide virulent spread of coronavirus – yet

MAGA Mom

Be careful down in FL – it is now spreading via community contact. You can click on the counties here and see how many are travel related and how many are not travel related:
https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429
Also, note that many that are “travel” related traveled within the US and many that are US traveled related had traveled to GA. They traveled to GA, caught it there and are now listed in FL as “travel related”! Be careful in both GA & FL!!

GA/FL

It’s only spreading in a few hot spots. No cases where my daughter lives, so far.
I’m convinced the President’s guidelines have made a great deal of difference.
However – because of daughter’s disability and my age – I’m not going out until the 15 days are up – and then, we’ll see.
It’s not as virulent here in US as in China. So far.

GA/FL

ALSO – This week – strangely, Georgia’s death rate per confirmed case surpassed Florida’s – despite the higher number of seniors in FL.

GA/FL

FL – 18 deaths – 1412 cases
GA – 32 deaths – 1026 cases

Figured I’ll post this here, since it would fall under observations regarding COVID-19:
Whether it’s online or real life, it seems like there is a huge split between those who want America reopened for business and those who believe that reopening too soon could prove disastrous, especially with the number of cases. With POTUS discussing reopening in a matter of weeks, I am concerned that it may perceived as calloused, especially since we’re not quite out of the woods. There are people who are genuinely scared and may not be privy to all that is going on behind the scenes. Who are not sold on Hydroxychloroquine & Azithromycin because it hasn’t been given the “seal of approval” by “experts”? How do you convince those people that the push to reopen America soon is not one done out of callousness?

MysticRose80

*by “experts”.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

This is a very important point.
I get the sense that Trump is (understandably) very anxious to get commerce going again, because its a modern society’s lifeblood. Is that possibly clouding his judgment?
This is NOT a stupid question. His judgment in the past has been solid–but this is a new kind of thing; it’s not dealing with thinking beings (though I do hate to say that about his opponents, it’s actually true) that he can use political tactics on; it’s a mindless virus that is a THING, and a very different thing than he’s dealt with in his past life. Trump has himself said this is an unprecedented situation. That’s almost true (he exaggerates); there’s very little history he can go back and learn the lessons of.
I suspect what we will see is a phased turn on; parts of the country where people are socially isolating and had little exposure beforehand will be turned back ON; hotbeds may have to wait to burn themselves out.

MysticRose80

Appreciate this perspective, Steve! I, too, understand the reasoning behind it; however, I do see how it may be perceived otherwise.
“ I suspect what we will see is a phased turn on; parts of the country where people are socially isolating and had little exposure beforehand will be turned back ON; hotbeds may have to wait to burn themselves out.”
Honestly, this would be the best strategy to employ (vs mass opening, which isn’t feasible because some areas are more affected than others.

phoenixrising37

In this instance, folks will have to deal with their own concerns and anxiety about the possibility of “opening too soon” (I believe they are few in number anyway)
Americans mostly live paycheck to paycheck… POTUS is attempting to help and GOP Senators are attempting to help… but no matter if the cash got to them today, it would not be soon enough for a LOT OF PEOPLE… those who own small business or even franchises, like Ed spoke of upthread, the 2 bros who operate the donut shop.. waitstaff, hairdressers, etc. They may have to shut down BEFORE Easter… what will they do then?
The usual suspects will wail and moan… they criticize EVERYTHING, EVErY MOVE President Trump makes anyway. Since when has POTUS cared what peeps think? Most have the attention span of gnat (sorry to sound uncaring, I am opposite, an empath… care TOO MUCH about what is happening to other people)… and then there’s the Market which is HIGHLY impacted… heck just his words this day drove the DOW up…
(end of rant)

MysticRose80

No, I understand where you’re coming from. That’s why I feel that this is a complicated situation. Our priority is to flatten the curve and ensure that we have the resources to treat those affected; however, I also understand the ramifications that the national standstill is having on people’s livelihoods. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the ability to work from home (for a host of reasons) or work for companies that have measures in place for their employees.

Looking forward to Easter as good news v. telling us the bad news on Monday that 15 days was not enough it as great way to shift the conversation and control the narrative to a positive.
Opening Up the Country….seems to mean that the national recommendations will change and be more flexible for various recommendations for various levels of infection case #s and various rates of growth. The Governors will then take the best course for their own state and their own state’s situation.
Opening up the country = removing country wide recommendations

I’m guessing things will lossen by next Monday. Regions and hot areas continue quasi quarantine. Ideally by Easter most every where will be open. NYC and a couple very hot spots really need to lock down. Flights out of NY need to STOP.

“What can we do?”
Well one can start by learning to do their gematria correctly. Never is the count of letters included in the result (and you don’t multiply it by a hundred, either).
Also, the way every ancient culture except the Romans did it, would look like this: A=1, B=2, C=3,…I=9, J=10, K=20 (not eleven), L=30….R=90, S=100, T=200, U=300…Z=800. (Except, of course, they’d use their own alphabet, Hebrew, Greek, Georgian, Russian, etc. The Russians used this system clear up until the early 1700s in fact.) The Romans, of course, only assigned numbers to some of their letters (I, V, X, L, C, D, M). Assigning Q=17 is not the way it was done.
This was used not just to calculate the number a word represented, but to actually represent numbers themselves; if we were using this system instead of “Arabic” numerals, we’d render 312 as UJB (300+10+2). Someone reading the text would see UJB come up out of nowhere, realize it was nonsense, and therefore had to be a number. The practice of taking a word that DOES make sense, like someone’s name, and adding it all up and seeing some sort of mystical consequence in the answer, is gematria.
Of course some followers of Q do this sort of bastardized gematria shown above with O=15 instead of 60, then do completely non-gematria things like counting the number of letters involved and treating it as a digit in the hundreds place. They do things like that just to make things come out to the answer they want.
The triple six in Revelation (or 616 in some manuscripts) is a reference to the letters of the Antichrist’s “real” name, turned into their numerical values and added up. (I am told that NERON CAESAR, rendered in Hebrew, adds up properly, and he was the emperor at the time St. John had his revelation.)

Valerie Curren

Well I’ve been meaning to share some more Michigan tidbits, but I’m always (at least) a day late & a dollar+ short!
3-16 we got a call from the dentist to confirm the keeping of a 3-17 appt, my son wanted to wait/reschedul but we were to keep the 3-30 appt & we’d schedule any more needed that day.
3-17 or 18 dentist called to reschedule 3-30 appt as they are now only seeing emergencies, now appt is 4-7
3-19 or 20 dentist called to reschedule the rescheduled 4-7 appt to 4-14 based on MI governor’s directives
3-19 or 20? MI governor announces they will allow houses of worship to gather in groups of 50+ at religious organization’s discretion w/no punitive gov’t interference
around those same dates, iirc, non-essential workers are to stay home & no gathering in groups of 10+, take out & delivery of food still OK, OK to exercise outside but only in 1s or 2s
Monday 3-23 MI Governor issues “Stay Home Stay Safe” (shelter in place) for all but essential personnel
In our family all employees but special needs son (who works at local community center which was closing) are in essential industries & so far can continue working their normal schedules. Our son who is a hydraulic technician was working 10 hour shifts plus Saturday last week so can no longer work overtime. Special son is to miss the next 2 Mondays & then get boosted to 2 days per week (as they’ve been considering for months) & the week back to get to work Tues & Fri that lifting the Governor’s order week, he’ll regularly work Mon & Fri, 3 hours each. Presumably his restart date is subject to change based on Gov’s orders. He cried about this a few times Mon. Oh his girlfriend & her mom made him a cloth mask which he took with him & wore at work on Mon (he’s immuno-compromised post liver transplant & on anti-rejection meds).
Tues 3-24 MI governor extends the school closing directive for another week, into mid April. There are discussions about whether or not to close schools for the rest of the school year. Daughter’s college classes, all moved to online, have resumed this week, though there are still some bugs to work out. Heard that Oakland University was requiring people on campus to vacate & they were opening up their dorms & other places on campus for overflow medical needs from a local college they’re partnered with.
Tues 3-24 5:30am husband’s co-worker pulled over by a cop while on his way to work. Cop tells him he’s Not going to work. Co-worker shows him the letter from the company indicating he’s in an essential industry & cop takes 15 minutes (consulting w/ higher ups in his cop car?) to decide to let him go. Had previously heard on the radio that Cops would NOT be stopping people & questioning their activities but would check on businesses that were open to confirm they were Allowed to be working…
Yesterday local radio host on WJR displays his pseudo Trump derangement syndrome & calls into question President’s plan to reassess things in a week & work on doing “2 things at once” by protecting medically vulnerable & simultaneously opening the economy up more & getting people back to work. Mon he gets a caller who complains about people in Home Depot & talk host (Guy Gordon) gets defensive because he went to home supply store to get items to repair & clean up some type of water leak. Tue. GG takes another virtue signalling Home Depot nazi who is complaining about all the people “buying paint to paint their spare room” (aka use their God given freedoms to get projects done at home when forced away from work sites) & GG appears to jump on the band wagon & they both lament about this causing the virus spread…Also GG reports that almost 90% of ChinaVirus cases are in Metro Detroit & outlying counties are getting nervous as SE Michiganders head Up North to vacation homes & possibly spread the virus. He entertains & gives too much time to excessively nervous callers who think Trump is unhinged, unstable, & irresponsible to even consider opening up the economy while the virus is crippling some communities. GG has bi-polar responses that snarkily question Trump & seem to put doctors Above the President in making these national calls & then expounds on the practicalities of opening up economic activities in counties with minimal if any CV issues…sigh…have to turn it off to keep BP stable…
On a pleasant personal note our daughter works at a local restaurant doing kitchen prep & gets 50% off while working & 20% off when off duty. Last night she was to attempt to purchase enough food for our in-house family of 5 at 50% off, if possible, & we’d reimburse the costs. She came home w/ 2 large bags of food last night & I’m like “Oh Great, your manager let you buy more than one meal at 50% off!!!” She’s like “It’s even better than that, the manager bought the food & gave it to us!” It turns out that our daughter rarely, if ever, gets food (or even takes breaks) while working, even when offered free food. I guess the manager was thanking her, & by extension our family, for all her great hard work. Daughter used her skills to re-heat & augment what she’d brought home so when the guys got home from work we had a hot feast of a meal! Thank you Lord & thank you “Bunny Boo”!!!

Valerie Curren

Calling Snake Pliskin to get the last “good” guy out!

Valerie Curren

On another Michigan note we decided to have House Church on Sunday & it was great…& perhaps somewhat New Testament.
There were 8 of us all together, 5 who live here, son & his wife, & a significant other. Daughter lead worship on guitar while husband played bass on 4 songs they’d worked on for a bit earlier.
Opening songs: All Who Are Worthy; I Can Sing of Your Love Forever; & Oh, Come to the Altar. Closing Song: Blessed Be Your Name.
All who wanted to shared Bible verses that had been speaking to them lately, 3/4 of us shared something. I shared Isaiah 41: 8-13, focusing on verse 10 & Psalm 27, focusing on verses 1-5, 11, 13-14. I didn’t have time to also share Isaiah 26: 1-13, focusing on verses 1-4, 7-9, & 12.
My husband shared a brief scripturally based message & we had a slight discussion. We opened & closed in prayer. In a smart move, since we were gathered in our living room & most present have/had some form of ADHD husband turned on TV w/ no volume & had soothing sea-scapes streaming video on. This allowed people to partially focus their attention on something during worship, reading, &/or sharing…
Honestly this gathering was really great! I enjoyed it more than I’ve enjoyed church in Many years. I pointed out to everyone that no matter how bad things become in the future we can always have that kind of church whether we have access to instruments or Bibles. We can gather, even by 2s or 3s, & in secret if need be, & share scripture & worship from our hearts & minds & pray for each other. Be assured, He was in the midst of us…& it was uplifting!!!
Tonight our middle son is participating in a Bible study via a video chat platform. He’s been attending this weekly guys Bible study for several months now. It’s a small group of 20 somethings so it’s great to see our young people following through on these initiatives on their own power!

GA/FL

Thanks so much for sharing, Valerie! May the sweetest blessings continue to pour down on all of you!

Valerie Curren

Thanks GA/FL God Bless You Too! & thanks for all you share at the Q-Tree…it is Much Appreciated!!!
