It has been mentioned in the comments from our own Gail that Nicholas II was the last of the crown heads of Europe to openly resist a central bank. In the United States, all presidents who opposed central banks and took action against them except Andrew Jackson were murdered. In France…when it came to the Guillotining of King Louis XVI, could this be the reason?

The Kingdom of France’s first experiment with a central bank was the Banque Générale (Banque Générale Privée or “General Private Bank”), set up by John Law at the behest of the Duke of Orléans after the death of Louis XIV. Law received the bank’s 20-year charter in May 1716 and its stock consisted of 1,200 shares valued at 5,000 livres apiece.[2] It was meant to stimulate France’s stagnant economy and pay down its staggering national debt acquired from Louis XIV’s wars, including the War of the Spanish Succession. The collapse of the Mississippi Company and the Banque Royale tarnished the word banque (“bank”) so much that France abandoned central banking for almost a century, possibly precipitating Louis XVI’s economic crisis and the French Revolution. Later successors like la Caisse d’escompte (from 1776 to 1793) and la Caisse d’escompte du commerce (from 1797 to 1803) used the word “caisse” instead, until Napoleon retook the term with la Banque de France (“Bank of France”) in 1800.
It’s a bit slanted, but the French finances here are blamed on France not having a central bank, something Louis XVI opposed, not the spendthrift habits of the House of Bourbon from which the central bankers had no way to profit in those years.
Could the same fate await President Trump and his family as did the crown heads of Europe and American presidents who opposed central banks?
It has been suggested here that that is the case.
Is President Trump opposed to a central bank? He has not said explicitly, but among any number of other issues that might be why the deep state puppets are eager to not just run him out of Washington, but wreck him in every other way.
President Trump spoke to the nation on Wednesday afternoon. Does this look and sound like a man who is worried?

Just recently a hit piece on Lt. Gen McInerny making claims that the General is a conspiracy theorist claiming he made statements that he provably did not make. The Military Times pretended to do ‘fact checks’ with high level ANONYMOUS sources etc….
The title of one article claims that the General falsely claims soldiers were killed in Frankfurt…when the General, after being asked about the incident, CLEARLY states that he cannot verify that soldiers died. In fact, in the article itself…MT admits that the General said he could not verify.
Many people do not read past the title and 1st paragraph…so the title becomes the news. In the same article, the author goes on to associate the General with other false claims and of course the Q movement is also thrown in for good measure.

You’re completely correct about that, though to be sure German and most especially English have borrowed a lot of French and Latin words.
German and English are, under all the borrowed words, part of what they call the “Germanic” Family of languages, while Latin and its descendant language (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian plus other more obscure ones) are in the Italic family.
Those two families in turn descend from something we now call Proto Indo European. It was never written down, so we will almost certainly never have any idea what the speakers called themselves or their language.

I’ve no doubt of it being the case any of a number of times and places over the centuries, I’m just wondering which particular time(s) and places(s) you had in mind.
TBH, I don’t remember the circumstances.
Guessing from the impression I had, it was MANY centuries ago, and it likely originated from Germany or England.
It seemed to me that it was a deliberate, and well-considered move, to avoid the yoke of language-dependence on Rome.
I wish I could remember better – it seems likely that it was from the linguistics course, but not necessarily.
It was a LONG-TERM decision, to gain advantage, in a long-term war.
As we’ve seen in the PC-culture that has taken hold (somewhat!), language itself is a potent weapon. Control that, and one controls an essential tool for dominance.
Movements to go back to the pure language (wherever people are, whatever that might be) are common; Turkish purged a bunch of loan words during the 20th century; France has an academy to keep its language pure, Russians bitch about all the loan words their language has (a LOT).
There’s a movement out there (very small) to kick all the French words out of English (and rename it Anglo Saxon, too, if I recall correctly), which would totally change the look of the language.

I had a realtor write a letter to a customer’s realtor, to explain why the house was good. But he’d say things like ‘installed a “new” roof’ and the like, with quotes for emphasis, and I was ready to strangle him, because when I read it I transleted them things like that to “so-called new roof”

The United States is on its third central bank.
The first, the Bank of the United States, was chartered in 1791 at the request of Alexander Hamilton (the reason he’s on a $10). It was very popular among the “right people” but wasn’t generally supported by, y’know, citizens. Its charter was not renewed in 1811. Among other things, 2/3 of its investors were from the UK, and there was this thing with the UK in 1812, including the sack of Washington.
The Second National Bank of the United States was chartered in 1816. Jackson ran for President, partially on the notion of booting it. Congress tried to re-up its charter for a number of extra years, but Jackson vetoed the bill (the reason he’s on a $20) with a beautiful and effective speech (excerpted below). In 1833, Jackson yanked all Federal funds out; in 1836, its Federal charter ran out — and it frantically rechartered in Pennsylvania, until it failed in 1841.
The third central bank of the United States had learned that the term “Bank of the United States” was electoral poison, so they came up with a completely new scheme to obscure the ownership, control, and finances of such a bank and called that monstrous horror the “Federal Reserve”. It was established in 1913 and is still ongoing. [Mind you, the United States has gotten along JUST FINE without a central bank from 1789-1791, 1811-1816, and 1837-1913.]

This is just my opinion, based on personal research experience, but if you ask the search engines complicated questions, it confuses them and you get more complete information.
Like, instead of “capitol hill riots,” ask “how many people participated in the capitol hill riots in the year 2020?”
The addition of all those words seems to have some effect. Not sure why. Granted, ALL of the search engines are skewed LEFT. You have to work hard to get around that. There is NOT ONE that isn’t.

Apropos (as usual) of nothing in particular….
I’m looking to change out both of our bathroom faucets. I did it before — over a decade ago — and a combination of a couple of things has made it desirable to do again.
The first is that our water here is essentially liquid concrete, and we get limescale like nobody’s business. This quickly formed a layer over the mesh in our aerators, which meant that the back-pressure from the faucets was extraordinary, which caused them to leak around gaskets. If you press on the mesh with your finger, it actually feels like stone backed by gravel.
The second is that we had a cleaning service that felt that they needed to get things clean in the time they were here…..regardless of what that did to the infrastructure. I suspect they were using toilet-bowl cleaner with bleach on the sinks and faucets. I figure that probably eroded the gaskets as well.
So, essentially, they’re leaky calcified messes. All on top of the sink deck, thankfully, but just ugly.
So I started in the Master Bath. Like I said, I’d done this before…..but I didn’t quite remember that a previous homeowner had installed an ugly vanity with a drawer that hit the cold water shutoff for the sink. So he sawed one corner off the drawer so it wouldn’t hit. When I went to shut off the undersink valves, I had to do a bit of contortionism to get to the cold valve, then I had to get creative so that I had enough room to apply oomph to get the valve to turn.
I got both valves to off today. Tomorrow it’s disconnect the supply lines from the faucet, take the mounting widgets off the faucet, pull it, clean the sink deck, install the new faucet (using silicon goo I didn’t previously have — there’s a story for this), reconnect the supply lines and check for leaks, then do my contortionist act to get out.

I should note that the @%^@ I build uses quarter-turn ball valves and is multiply redundant. Dealing with this half-assed BS irritates me.

But as soon as I crack it, the whole tube will go bad in a week (if not sooner). So for a little job, I need to get a little tube (that I don’t have “in stock”). Citric acid crystals dissolved in hot water work well for removing lime scale, make the solution as strong as you think it needs.
CLR works just fine — and, as one of those amusing things, you can add CLR to local tapwater in a clean glass vessel, and it’ll fizz on the water.

The condition of your water can be improved with multi stage filtration, and disinfection if necessary. I had the same problem, and before we renovated baths, kitchen and laundry, I decided to solve the water quality problems with a whole house system.
We have a 3 stage big blue rack system, followed by UV disinfection. First 2 stages filter, 3rd filter treats hardness with food grade polyphosphate.
The system footprint is very small. It fits in a bathroom closet. We change filters every 6 months. We did the installation ourselves for a total cost of apx. $1300. Filters and uv lamps run about 100-200 annually. The system will allow use of bulk filter materials, if you know what your doing.
Haven’t figured out how to respond back in a timely manner, if you’d like more info. I’d be happy to provide links to sites for sourcing the components of the system.

It was originally built in 1893. It is a four-square vernacular, with a kitchen and bedroom added later. The first owner, who built it, was a woman! She owned several houses in the neighborhood.
We are pretty sure it was originally a whore-house. We added a slightly bigger front door years ago. What we found when we cut into the wall was amazing.
The current interior walls are plaster and lathe. But behind them was the original interior wall. Nothing but 14-20 inch boards. No insulation, nothing. In Montana! On that wall were three layers of wallpaper. The layer that would have been put on first was green with red stripes and gold-foil fleur-de-lis. On nothing but boards! AND the house stands in what was the red-light district of a logging town.
So we are pretty convinced it was a bawdy house. It requires some new thing at least once or twice a year, but I love it.

My house is haunted, too. We have at least two. One we call the “door rattler” because he rattles the front door knob! My grandkids live in the main house now, and I live in a little cottage at the back of the yard. The grands are so funny about the haunts! The day the “door rattler” did his thing while I was sitting on the couch with my grandson was priceless! He got up and went to open the door, and of course no one was there. His eyes were the size of saucers!
We have Freddy who died in 1902 at the age of 15 after a long illness in an upstairs bedroom. The viewing and funeral was held in the living room.
I found this all out several years after moving in. The energy in his former bedroom is very heavy. I can’t stay in there for more than a couple minutes.
Those of us who are sensitive to these things are definitely challenged by it. I have experienced places like you describe. Most of my experiences with it have been less disturbing.
I am also sensitive to these things.

I did some research on the boy and he suffered greatly in his last year of life. No one will stay in the room. Not even the cat. The door always stays open though.
You could have the room exorcised if it bothers you. I would remind the spirit that Christ is the ultimate Healer so is death to live in eternity. Releasing the spirit give it permission to leave. Just my thought on it how I would handle it.

Hubby just finished a total redo on a rental ,he’s in charge of several and he did epoxy on all existing countertops.they look gorgeous cut the cost of replacing more than half .he chose to make the counters look like granite ,now I am waiting for our home to get done with epoxy. It’s a diy project that even a layman can easily do.
On my way today to pick up tile for total bathroom redo, wish me luck. Yeah it’ll be good times with siblings. There house not mine, I get to play contractor. It’ll be a good distraction 🤗

My mother has been suffering with shingles for about three weeks now. Yesterday was REALLY bad with the pain. This morning she begged my brother and I to take the shingles vaccine.

My elderly mother plans to get the covid vaccine because she reasons that if she has to go in the hospital or any facility, they will force her to take it anyway. She’s trying to protect herself from the medical system, more so than the virus. I didn’t try to change her mind, because in NY there’s a good chance she’s right.
My doctor has been trying to convince me to take the shingles vaccine. He told me the new one was better than the old and he and his wife took it.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,
I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, in order to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13959 of November 12, 2020 (Addressing the Threat from Securities Investments that Finance Communist Chinese Military Companies), to address the threat posed by the People’s Republic of China’s military-industrial complex, hereby order as follows:
Section 1. Section 1(b) and (c) of Executive Order 13959 are amended to read as follows:
“(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a)(i) of this section, any transaction entered into on or before 11:59 p.m. eastern standard time on November 11, 2021, solely to divest, in whole or in part, from securities that any United States person held as of 9:30 a.m. eastern standard time on January 11, 2021, in a Communist Chinese military company as defined in section 4(a)(i) of this order, is permitted. Effective at 11:59 p.m. eastern standard time on November 11, 2021, possession of any such securities by a United States person is prohibited.
(c) Notwithstanding subsection (a)(ii) of this section, for a person determined to be a Communist Chinese military company pursuant to section 4(a)(ii) or (iii) of this order, any transaction entered into on or before 365 days from the date of such determination, solely to divest, in whole or in part, from securities that any United States person held in such person, as of the date 60 days from the date of such determination, is permitted. Effective at 11:59 p.m. eastern standard time on the date 365 days after the date of such determination, possession of any such securities by a United States person is prohibited.”
Sec. 2. Subsections (a)(ii) and (iii) of section 4 of Executive Order 13959 are amended to read as follows:
“(ii) any person that the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, publicly lists as a Communist Chinese military company meeting the criteria in section 1237(b)(4)(B) of Public Law 105-261, as amended by section 1233 of Public Law 106-398 and section 1222 of Public Law 108‑375, and that operates directly or indirectly in the United States or any of its possessions, until such time as the Secretary of Defense removes such person from such list. This definition shall apply regardless of whether the Secretary of Defense must provide the report described in section 1237(b)(2) of Public Law 105-261, as amended by section 1233 of Public Law 106-398 and section 1222 of Public Law 108-375; or
(iii) any person that the Secretary of the Treasury publicly lists as meeting the criteria described in section (a)(ii) of this section, or publicly lists as a subsidiary of a person already determined to be a Communist Chinese military company, until the Secretary of the Treasury determines that such person no longer meets that criteria and removes such person from such list.”

For years I ask my husband to have a garden in front of the house since back is not to big. He does not want too because he is not used to that practice I am. In the middle in a circle is low bush blueberry on one side and bush cherry on the other. The raised beds for the veggies curve around these permanent plantings with stone dust pathways. Along the walk will go edible flowers/low herbs.

He then played this soundbite of Congresswoman Sherrill:
“Sherrill said that she has passed on her information to law enforcement,” he added. But he didn’t note that Sherrill wasn’t answering media questions about her claims.
As reporter Andrea Salcedo wrote for The Washington Post, “Sherrill did not specifically identify which lawmakers she saw leading groups through the Capitol. Her office did not immediately respond to a message from The Washington Post late Tuesday.” The Post report also tried to boost Sherrill’s claims.
“One day before a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, a Democratic lawmaker says, she saw colleagues leading groups on ‘reconnaissance’ tours of the building,” she told Post readers. “Rep. Some of America’s most prestigious universities have cashed lucrative checks from Chinese institutions that directly threatened national security. Duke University operates a joint-campus in China with Wuhan University, a public university that repeatedly carried out cyber attacks on behalf of the Chinese military. Northwestern University and the University of California Irvine have together received more than $4 million in research funding from an entity controlled by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, a Chinese defense contractor that used stolen designs of American F-35 fighters to build planes for the Chinese military.
Institutions controlled by the Chinese government—state-owned enterprises, state-controlled public universities, government-controlled nonprofits, and other sources—collectively donated at least $315 million to American colleges between 2014 and 2019. More than a quarter of the contributions—27 percent—came from either state-owned defense contractors or public universities that closely partner with the Chinese military to conduct defense research.
The expenditures indicate that the Chinese government is a much bigger player in U.S. academia than previously thought. State-backed entities often avoid scrutiny as their government ties are not immediately obvious. The $315 million sum, based on federal disclosures, is likely a conservative estimate of Chinese influence peddling on campus. A Department of Education audit found that U.S. universities failed to disclose more than $6.5 billion in foreign funding from China and other countries in recent years.

Getting anyone to adopt IPv6 is another matter altogether.
What would it take to get it adopted?
Basically there are a lot of enterprises for various reasons that are holding up widespread adoption. Some reasons are legit, but mostly it’s inertia and laziness.
IPv4 is working JUST FINE and most engineers are comfortable working with NAT and 10.0.0.0/8 address space for their enterprise needs. Why fix what isn’t broken?
IPv6 is already out there and working fine, and there are already plenty of systems using IPv6 space, but lots of inertia towards using IPv4 address space instead.

For a slightly dented brain like mine the old IPv4 is familiar and pretty easy to read if familiar. IPv6 on the other hand has unique names for it’s different connections and none of them are human readable. Can you point to a good tutorial for how to make it workable?

My late husband knew both Jack and Anastasia Manahan. She had a small collection of valuable jewels. I do not know how she acquired them. My husband heard from a mutual friend that she would give Jack one or two of them at a time to sell through a local jeweler when they needed money, as apparently Jack didn’t manage money well. She had some strange habits: one of them was to spend time living in Jack’s station wagon that was parked in front of the apartment building on University Circle; then she would go back to the apartment. She would also sit in the station wagon and scream for hours with the car windows down. Her screams could be heard a whole block away. The local PD finally gave up trying to stop these behaviors. I myself, while driving down the street that abuts University Circle, heard that screaming. It was blood-curdling.

Interesting. This is not the first account I’ve seen/read of one of the Romanovs being in the U.S.
One of the old guard in conspiracy reporting, the late Sherman Skolnik (yes, he was murdered), had an account on his site of having interviewed a man claiming to be Prince Alexei. What the real truth on that is, who knows. I’ve also heard accounts that when the shooting happened, the daughters had diamonds sewn into their undergarments and it took a while to kill them.
Again, who knows what the real truth is other than Nicholas II was finally laid to rest in the Kremlin Wall a few decades ago.
Nicholas did indeed abdicate, leaving the throne to his brother, who refused it. That’s part of “conventional” history.
As for all the people claiming to be part of his family, there was one Anastasia claimant who seemed to fit in many physical ways but the genetics didn’t match.
And I believe by now they’ve accounted for all of them digging up bodies from unmarked graves near Ekaterinburg/Sverdlovsk. (Yes, they renamed Ekaterinburg to “Sverdlovsk” after the guy who ordered the deed done; post Soviet Union it got named back. It’s named after Catherine I (wife of Peter the Great). You will sometimes see it rendered as “Yekaterinburg” because the Russain E at the begiinning of a word is pronounced “yeh”.)
That’s the story that they were dug up. There is no video of the actually digging to my knowledge.
What really happened, at this point, is probably known only to God.

USA Rice Meets with Katherine Tai, Biden Nominee for USTR

WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, USA Rice President & CEO Betsy Ward met virtually with Katherine Tai, President-elect Joe Biden’s designate to serve as U.S. Trade Representative. Tai briefed Ward and other members of the Ag CEO Council on the incoming administration’s trade agenda and showed deep understanding of the importance of trade for the agricultural sector.
Tai is currently chief trade counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee and served in USTR’s Office of the General Counsel, first as associate general counsel from 2007 to 2011 and then as chief counsel for China Trade Enforcement with responsibility for the development and litigation of U.S. disputes against China at the World Trade Organization (WTO). In that capacity she worked firsthand on U.S. WTO cases for rice and other agricultural commodities against China and has kept abreast of developments there in her current role in Congress.
“This meeting was a great opportunity to remind Ms. Tai of the challenges rice faces in global trade, including the need for sound, market-opening trade agreements and strong enforcement of WTO rules that limit domestic subsidies and prohibit other forms of trade manipulation that help keep us on a level playing field with production giants like China and India,” Ward said. “Tai’s knowledge of the rice sector and her work on the China cases at their inception should serve us well in the new administration.”
The Ag CEO Council, composed of leaders of some of the largest agricultural and farm organizations in the U.S., discussed many topics including re-engaging with the WTO, new free trade agreements with the UK and Kenya, and the importance of the Asia Pacific region as a customer for U.S. agricultural products.
Participants raised the importance of utilizing the USTR’s advisory system for regular engagement on trade policy issues with the private sector. For agriculture, these are the Agricultural Trade Advisory Committees (ATACs) and the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC). USA Rice has positions on both with Peter Bachmann, USA Rice vice president of international trade policy, serving on the ATAC, and Dow Brantley, past-chair of USA Rice, serving on the APAC. Tai agreed that these advisory committees need to be fully engaged in the dialogue about the Biden Administration’s trade agenda.
“We appreciate the Biden Transition Team giving us an opportunity to meet and visit with the nominees who will be taking the reins of agencies so important to rice, and we look forward to working with Ms. Tai as she takes on her new role at USTR,” said Ward.

Did CNN Accidentally Prove That Trump Did NOT Call for Violence at the Capitol?

The political left and their allies in the mainstream media have gloated over the second impeachment of Trump. In record time, articles of impeachment alleging President Trump incited an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol were filed and approved by the House of Representatives.
Here is the key claim of the article of impeachment against President Trump
But according to a new report from CNN, “Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that has led investigators to believe the attack on the US Capitol was not just a protest that spiraled out of control, a federal law enforcement official says.”
This completely undermines the entire case Democrats made for impeaching Trump.
CNN’s story also seems to support other reports that that the FBI had warned Capitol Police a day before the assault that there was evidence that an attack on the Capitol was expected and being planned on social media platforms, including Twitter.
Despite this stunning admission, CNN also claims that the FBI is examining evidence that there are “indications that some participants at the Trump rally at the Ellipse, outside the White House, left the event early, perhaps to retrieve items to be used in the assault on the Capitol.” But the only quote cited in the article of impeachment, “if you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a country anymore,” was made toward the end of his speech, not in the beginning. If that was his most incendiary rhetoric—and according to Democrats it must be if that’s what they chose to quote—then the argument that people heard that line and were suddenly motivated to go back home to retrieve items for an assault on the Capitol doesn’t hold up. Especially when Trump only said that after his speech they were going to “walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators, and congressmen and women.” That hardly sounds like inciting violence, does it?
The bottom line: CNN’s report contradicts everything the left has alleged about the violence at the Capitol and undermines the justification for impeaching Trump. The riot at the Capitol was either planned in advance, or inspired by President Trump’s speech. It simply cannot be both.
AND if inspired by POTUS speech, then his MAGA supporters can not only teleport, they can also time travel.
Dang! Who can teach me how to do either one of those?

There appear to be a few GOP lawmakers left in Washington, D.C. who are fighting back after their Democrat colleagues praised and defended rioters and looters during the summer of 2020 only to impeach President Trump for “incitement” of the Jan. 6 mob that descended on the Capitol building.
According to the articles of impeachment, Trump was accused of “incitement” of the mob that “unlawfully breached and vandalized the Capitol, injured and killed law enforcement personnel, menaced Members of Congress, the Vice President, and Congressional personnel, and engaged in other violent, deadly, destructive and seditious acts.”
That document was hurriedly drawn up, however, by Democratic lawmakers who failed to hold hearings on impeachment but were determined to hurt the departing president after they supported the anti-Trump “Resistance” movement that was praised for “organizing its outrage” and offering a “ray of hope” in dark political times after Trump was elected.
In 2018, with Brett Kavanugh set to become a U.S. Supreme Court justice just days later, hundreds of protesters took over the Senate Hart Building to protest.
“The hypocrisy is just downright disorienting,” Rep. Matt Gaetz said during a fiery floor speech Wednesday that concluded with Democrat lawmakers literally screaming at him.
That “disorienting” hypocrisy is like a bad case of whiplash, too, which Rep. Louis Gohmert pointed out (see video below) in his own Wednesday floor speech.
“I just don’t even know why there aren’t more uprisings all over the country,” the Texas lawmaker, known for his fiery speeches, said during his floor speech. “And maybe there will be.”
After witnessing Trump supporters descend on the very floor where Gohmert was speaking, Democrats who failed to listen closely reacted with anger and disbelief at Gohmert’s speech. It turns out, however, he was quoting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and said so, in an effort to point out her hypocrisy over the public angrily taking to the streets.
Dem-helping Politifact vs. Dem-warning CNN
In a timely Jan. 7 article, fact-checking website Politifact attempted to rescue Democrats from claims they have excused riots and violence after Pelosi’s “uprising” quote and three others were being spread on social media with unflattering images of politicians and burning buildings.
Politifact ruled the claims of defending riots and rioters “mostly false” despite, for example, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) calling for “unrest in the streets as long as there’s unrest in our lives” in an MSNBC interview.
There is “no indication Pressley meant anything other than peaceful protest,” Politifact helpfully explained, and the story notes that Pressley later claimed she was the victim of right-wing backlash that included death threats and violent phone calls.
Regarding the quote from Pelosi, Politifact points out it dates back to 2018 when the Democrat leader, speaking at her weekly press conference, condemned the Trump administration for separating migrant children from their parents after they illegally cross into the U.S. seeking asylum.
It is true that prominent Democrats including President-Elect Joe Biden have denounced violence during protests but “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld pointed out last summer that Democrats were changing their tune after poll numbers showed the public was no longer supporting street protests.
In a segment viewed two million views on You Tube, Gutfeld aired a July segment from CNN in which Trump haters Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo mocked right-wing claims that Democrat-led cities were being burned, and crime was on the rise at the same time the Left wanted to defund police.
“That did not age well,” Gutfeld pointed out. “Now that the violence is out of control and taking lives, the mockers changed their tune.”
“I think this is a blind spot for Democrats,” Lemon, citing poll numbers, was warning just weeks later. “I think Democrats are ignoring this problem, or hoping it’s going to go away, and it’s not going to go away.”
Gaetz draws boos from Dems
Back on the House floor, Rep. Gaetz told fellow lawmakers that Trump’s fiery speech last week also called for “peaceful” protest on the Capitol grounds but he has been labeled a “national security threat” by Democrats determined to impeach him.
The lawmaker then reminded Democrat lawmakers that Rep. Pressley and Rep. Maxine Waters have openly called for violence, and he pointed out that Speaker Pelosi ripped up President Trump’s state of the union speech that caused more anger and division in the country.
Regarding the Capitol Hill violence, the GOP lawmaker said Democrats were accusing President Trump of lighting a flame that caused violence in and around the Capitol building.
“Well,” he said of Democrat lawmakers, “they lit actual flames. Actual fires.”
The congressman’s fiery words were nearly drowned out by shouting Democrats and their hissing and booing.
Elsewhere during the GOP floor speeches, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) warned Democrats about their reaction to the Trump-supporting mob, such as demanding that Vice President Mike Pence forcibly remove President Trump.
“I’ve been here 14 years. I’ve never seen anything like this,” he warned. “And I do not know where this ends. I do not know where it ends. But it is dangerous where they’re taking us.”

There will be an annular eclipse in June (where the moon is too far away/looks to small to completely cover the sun, so the sun looks like a ring), and a total in December (neither of them visible from the US).
There are lunar eclipses in May and November.

There will be a number of eclipses in 2021 and only a few that we can observe from Arizona.
The total lunar eclipse on May 26 favors observers in the western U.S. and Hawaii.
A partial lunar eclipse on Nov. 18 comes on a micro moon and is best seen in North America and South America.
The annular/partial solar eclipse on June 10 will be best seen by observers in northern Ontario, Canada, at sunrise. Partial eclipse for large part of North America.

Some of this BS about using direct IPs doesn’t consider websites that are fronted by CDN’s. These are your Cloudflare’s of the browsing universe. Direct IPs are never used b/c they would bypass the CDN, and the whole point of the CDN is increasing resiliency for high-traffic websites.
Besides which, a Direct IP assumes that your IP address is host ONE and ONLY ONE website. This is rarely the case anymore, as IP addresses and hosting plans are too expensive to waste on such an absurd scheme.
Much smarter is to keep a list of Public DNS Servers:

CONFIRMED: THEY WILL DE-PLATFORM SITES BEYOND THEIR CONTROL VIA DNS.
What is DNS? When you type a site name, it is meaningless to a computer. Your computer sends the site’s name to a DNS server and the DNS server then tells your computer what IP address the site is at, and your computer then accesses that IP address. Having the IP address work correctly has to be set up on purpose. Normally you cannot just hit a site’s IP and have it load. This site is an exception. This site’s IP address is 82.221.129.208 and when you hit only that number, it still loads the most current page.
WARNING TO ALL ALT MEDIA: GET YOUR DIRECT IP ADDRESS WORKING TO LOAD YOUR SITE AND MAKE IT LOAD THE WAY MINE DOES, WHERE THE SWITCH OVER IS AUTOMATIC. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS AND YOU ARE LEGIT, YOU WILL SOON BE GONE. THIS ARRANGEMENT ALREADY SAVED THIS SITE TWICE. THEY TRIED TAKING ME OUT OF THE DNS SERVERS TWICE, ONLY TO HAVE IT NOT WORK WELL ENOUGH. PLEASE NOTE: SHARED IP’S CANNOT BE SET UP TO DO THIS. TO BE CLEAR: Migrate your server offshore. The best place to put your server is Iceland. The best web host in Iceland is Orangewebsite. With them, set up a dedicated IP, for now migrate your domain name and files, and then re-direct to the IP address via your .htaccess file. You’ll be COMMIE PROOF.
Keep in mind that once you do this, your site will be ranked ZERO, going to direct IP will do that. This site gets over a million visits a month and is not even rated. So what. I can’t get ads on it anyway and the readers keep it going (many thanks!)

That’s not a bad option.
Remember that there are two very different things going on here with very different responsibilities and risks. DNS is the worldwide Yellow Pages. Anyone, anywhere, can see http://www.theqtree.com resolving to 88.214.194.85. That’s annoying to lose, but the DarkWeb never uses it to begin with.
The next is that the router at 88.214.194.85 has to respond to your secret knock by connecting to a server with your stuff. I gather that you’ve hosted your data with Epik (and I see that other “knocks” at that server have relationships with Epik). It seems a reasonable choice.
The thing is, the two risks (finding the right IP, responding to the right secret knock) are both out there — but anything done to safeguard one will do nothing to safeguard the other. They run on different mechanisms.
It is likely to be expensive and fruitless to get an entire dedicated IP.
In the beginning, there were 256 x 256 x 256 x 256 distinct IP addresses, ranging from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255 — a total of 4,294,967,296. When things were set up, great swathes of these were allocated with gay abandon — anything starting with 127 is your own machine; anything starting with 10 is a local network; IPs starting with 255 are meant to be heard by anyone.
By the early 90s, it started to become obvious that they should have been more frugal. Work started on development of IP6, but also everything started getting routed with NAT (Network Address Translation). This meant that you could go to one of the 4.3B “real” IP addresses and give a secret knock, and the router would let you into a particular server.
To you, it would look like the “real” IP address was the address of the server — and to the server, it would look like you were being accessed on the real internet — but the router was continuously splicing these together. (The routing table that handles NAT is called the “mangle table”.)
Institutions with more money than sense started acquiring the “real” IP’s for vanity reasons — CloudFlare got 1.1.1.1, Google has 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, FourNines has 9.9.9.9. This pushed prices into the stratosphere. What you need is a trusted partner who controls the router — the “real” IP isn’t all that useful.

Oh, and a last comment — all the underlying tools for this stuff are on Unix and Linux. Most will run fine on a Raspberry Pi.

Twitter competitor Parler may be gone for good, after Amazon Web Services (AWS) suddenly dumped the social media platform from its cloud hosting service amid a pro-Trump ‘cancel crusade,’ following last week’s protest at the US Capitol turned deadly after a small group of activists ran amok inside the US Capitol building.
Parler CEO John Matze told Reuters on Wednesday that he does not know if or when the service will return for its 12 million users, adding that the best thing would be if they could return to Amazon.
“It could be never,” he said. “We don’t know yet.”
On Monday, Parler filed a lawsuit against Amazon, which the Seattle-based tech giant says has no merit. According to Matze, they are considering suing other vendors but did not elaborate. The company was also booted from online payment processor Stripe, along with American Express. They also had their Scylla Enterprise database access, along with their ability to send SMS messages to confirm users after Twilio banned them. Lastly, Slack cut ties with the company – preventing them from communicating with their “jury” of paid and volunteer users who make content moderation decisions.
According to ‘disinformation researchers’ cited by Reuters, Parler was used by far-right groups “maintained a vigorous online presence on alternative platforms including Parler where they spread violent rhetoric ahead of the unrest.”
Amazon claims they warned Parler to institute moderation tools against such rhetoric.
Scylla, the database company, said that it terminated its relationship with Parler because they “cannot and will not allow our technology to be used to incite violence.”
Meanwhile, Antifa has been using Facebook and other platforms to coordinate riots and domestic terrorism for the past four years, while Twitter is chock-full of violent threats, but who are we to tell ‘private platforms’ what they can do? If you don’t like it, just start your own… oh wait.

The move by large technology firms to de-platform “free speech” social media site Parler has a chilling effect, said White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Director Peter Navarro.
“What we have here is a classic collusive oligopoly, a kind of new wine in an old bottle,” Navarro told Fox Business. “What we saw with this attack on Parler was chilling to me. It’s one thing to de-platform everybody for free speech. But, this was a pincer move where Google and Apple, [the] first part of the pincer, was to not allow Parler apps to be down.”
Over the past week, Google and Apple removed Parler from their respective app-downloading programs, while on Monday morning, Amazon Web Services (AWS) suspended services for the website. Parler then filed a lawsuit against AWS, arguing the Seattle-based tech giant violated its contractual agreement, later adding that a representative sent text messages to Parler CEO John Matze that appeared to suggest AWS only cared about whether President Donald Trump would sign up—rather than violent content.
Parler also asserted that AWS violated the Sherman Antitrust Act in its court filing in Washington state.
Navarro added that Amazon initiated a “brutal kill by taking the cloud away as a small company” because it was no longer able to access its data. “Effectively, Amazon wiped out that company,” he said.
Navarro said that the former Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini is “allowed” to tweet and the “[Chinese] Communist Party official propaganda organs put things up [on Twitter] all the time,” but Trump had been removed from Twitter.
Twitter’s ban of Trump was addressed by CEO Jack Dorsey.
“Having to take these actions fragments the public conversation. They divide us. They limit the potential for clarification, redemption, and learning. And sets a precedent I feel is dangerous: the power an individual or corporation has over a part of the global public conversation,” Dorsey said.

Trump has multiple luxury properties in countries that do not have extradition treaties with the United States. Extradition is an action in which one jurisdiction delivers a person accused of a crime to the country where the crime was committed, according to the Council on Foreign Relations.
The president even floated the idea of leaving the country if he lost the 2020 presidential election during a campaign event in Georgia in October.

The incident is the latest in an ongoing battle between Google and the Australian government, which is currently considering a proposal that would force tech firms such as Google and Facebook to pay local news providers for their content.
Google added a notice to its site last year after the law was proposed, warning that “the way Aussies search every day on Google is at risk.” The Silicon Valley giant said on Wednesday that it had been “running a few experiments that will each reach about 1% of Google Search users in Australia.”

A company spokesperson commented: “Every year we conduct tens of thousands of experiments in Google Search. Apple says that it will invest $60 million to support minority entrepreneurs, a move that comes as part of a “racial equity and justice” project to challenge “systemic racism.”
“There’s a lack of diversity among venture capital and banking funders,” said Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, to Reuters. “We looked for where we thought there was opportunity for our resources to do good things.”
The report added that Apple will invest $10 million in a fund with Harlem Capital, a New York-based early-stage venture firm, and another $25 million in Siebert Williams Shank’s Clear Vision Impact Fund, which provides financing to businesses with an emphasis on minority-owned firms.
Apple is also investing another $25 million into the Propel Center, a facility in Atlanta where historically Black colleges and universities will collaborate on programs in entrepreneurship, and app development.
Apple’s new investments are a part of the company’s $100 million “Racial Equity Justice Initiative,” a project that was announced last June, after the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd.
The initiative seeks “to help dismantle systemic barriers to opportunity and combat injustices faced by communities of color,” according to Apple.
The company also plans to establish an app development academy in Detroit, Michigan, with Michigan State University. The academy will provide a free 10-to-12-month course and will seek to teach 1,000 students skills in coding, design, and marketing every year.
“We wanted to see more Black and brown developers,” said Jackson. “They tend to be focusing on the southeastern part of the United States. But Detroit has over 50,000 small businesses that are owned by Black and brown people.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook added that “we are all accountable to the urgent work of building a more just, more equitable world — and these new projects send a clear signal of Apple’s enduring commitment.”
Cook added that Apple is launching the Racial Equity Justice Initiative to “empower communities that have borne the brunt of racism and discrimination for far too long.”
“We are honored to help bring this vision to bear, and to match our words and actions to the values of equity and inclusion we have always prized at Apple,” said Cook.
While Apple works to prop up other businesses, the company has provided obstacles for others. Last week, Apple banned Parler, an alternative to Twitter, from its app store, effectively excluding the Parler app from all iPhones, after President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter.
Apple justifies its decision by claiming that words on the platform may “incite violence,” a narrative that big tech companies are now using to take action against the president, political dissenters, and their competition — while seemingly ignoring Twitter, where “Hang Mike Pence” was trending just last week.
