Just remember, he surrendered to end the Cold War, thus giving us all the shooting wars in the Middle East to keep the Military Industrial Complex in the money.

First up, President Trump’s Truth Social barrage and the lamestream media’s meltdown:

On Monday Kash Patel, the former chief of staff to the Acting United States Secretary of Defense under President Donald Trump, joined Tucker Carlson to discuss the recent raid on Mar-a-Lago and the release of the highly redacted affidavit to raid the former president’s home.

During the discussion Kash Patel told Tucker’s audience the real reason why the raid took place. It was to prevent the disclosure of unclassified Russiagate documents that implicated the FBI and DOJ in the garbage investigation of candidate and then President Trump.

Expect More Democrat Hail Marys

It’s pretty obvious to me that the Biden Student Loan Handout is a midterm Hail Mary. With a 40 percent approval rating, why wouldn’t the president throw some free stuff at the gender studies graduate vote? What has he got to lose?

Notice that I said: “what has he got to lose.” I didn’t say: what has the average American got to lose by adding $300 billion to $1 trillion to the national debt?

It helps me understand how the Peronistas wrecked Argentina, and the Chávezistas wrecked Venezuela. When your policies have wrecked the economy, why not double down, throw money at your supporters, and call your opponents names?

Let’s leave aside the economic debacle of the 1930s where FDR’s famous Brain Trust failed to recover the U.S. economy from the Great Depression with their New Deal and FDR blamed it all on “economic royalists.”

Let’s start with the Sixties, when Democrats passed the Civil Rights Acts (with Republican support) and then the big spending programs of the Great Society. If you were a Democrat in those years you knew that Democrats had cracked the code to justice and prosperity and would rule for a hundred years. But something went wrong.

Unelected Bureaucrats Unilaterally Impose the Green New Deal

The globalists’ secret, under-the-radar way to control everything in your life

I know this was posted yesterday, but it’s really worth a repeat as the mainstream media really did try to portray the country as racist when the vast majority of us just are not.

The Fake History of the 20th Century

For decades, ordinary people in Cincinnati were tarred as hateful racists in order to further a specific narrative about America. They weren’t the only victims of myths related to Robinson. Enos Slaughter of the St. Louis Cardinals has been villainized for decades for slashing Robinson with his spiked cleats during a play at first base. But Slaughter always insisted the injury was accidental, and sportswriters at the game from both St. Louis and New York City agreed, saying that nothing appeared deliberate about the incident. Similarly, in the 2013 film about Robinson, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Fritz Ostermueller is portrayed intentionally hitting Robinson in the head with a pitch before insulting him with a racist comment. In reality, the pitch hit Robinson on the wrist and there is no evidence of such an insult at all.

But all three myths will live on, because they are useful. They promote a certain story about America: That until very recently the country was overwhelmingly bigoted and hateful, and good for very little else. In fact, America’s entire 20th-century history, as it is taught in schools and portrayed on screen, is essentially “fake.” It is a sequence of myths atop myths, created to make Americans hate their ancestors and their history.

POSOBIEC: We Are in the Midst of a Preemptive Coup Because They Don’t Have Any Other Way to Stop Trump

A Case for Redoing the 2020 Election Now

We know that in the 2020 Election millions of ballots were inserted that we don’t know where they came from and millions more that we don’t know who signed them.  This is because the chain of custody documentation is missing and signatures were not checked on millions of ballots.  In addition, in Wisconsin the ballot drop boxes used in the election were illegal and tens of thousands of ballots were dropped in these devices.

We know that the results of the election had bizarre patterns that clearly were not random.  We saw huge blocks of ballot drops and then consistent patterns of Biden to Trump results after that point.

It’s in the air. Might not happen, but there are people out there saying it.

And now for the obligatory message from our sponsors:

Here at the Q tree we believe in the concept of CIVIL open free speech and the discussion that fleshes out ideas. When commenting and participating in the OPEN discussion on this thread all comments MUST NOT CONTAIN personal threats, baiting, name calling, or other anti-social words fomenting hate, violence or destruction. Our host Wolfm00n has strict rules about that.

Fellow tree dweller, the late Wheatie, gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone

Please, stock up on blanks for celebratory gunfire, be ready to swing from the chandeliers…and no messing with the nuclear weapons.

1 CORINTHIANS 3:1-9

1But I, brethren, could not address you as spiritual men, but as men of the flesh, as babes in Christ. 2I fed you with milk, not solid food; for you were not ready for it; and even yet you are not ready, 3for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving like ordinary men? 4For when one says, “I belong to Paul,” and another, “I belong to Apol’los,” are you not merely men? 5What then is Apol’los? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6I planted, Apol’los watered, but God gave the growth. 7So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8He who plants and he who waters are equal, and each shall receive his wages according to his labor. 9For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome.

Please include: President Donald Trump, the Q team, our soldiers in the field, special forces, tactical units, first responders and those working behind the scenes…and any and all people with family members in the hospital, COVID or not.

And…members of the QTree who no longer participate for one reason or another, as well as Gil, RDS, Bakocarl, Nora, Cthulhu (who is getting prayers whether it’s life threatening or not) and any others facing serious health issues right now..

It is quite clear, as per Wolf’s message from July, that we are under spiritual attack. Building up a robust arsenal of prayer and discipline is a must in fighting the enemy and his minions.

In that spirit, the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel from Tuesday’s threads, and the Breastplate of St. Patrick, not to mention the Litany of Humility are favorites recommended by exorcists in spiritual warfare.

Dear KAG: 20220830 Open Thread

Cover image: End of Summer by Sheryl Knight

Over the weekend, as was thoroughly hashed out in Monday’s daily thread here at the Q Tree, two big personalities in the MAGA movement got into it over one party’s reporting on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. In short, the researcher known as Sundance put out some raw numbers and facts, and the comic relief conservative personality known as Catturd decided that SD was doing so in an effort to put Democrat Charlie Crist into office.

First, here are the facts Sundance reported:

Unfortunately, the optics here on DeSantis are not good. The reporting is accurate, and it does look like Wall Street invested in someone they think will keep Trump out of the White House in the future.

LOOKS LIKE. Will it happen that DeSantis challenges Trump in the 2024 race? Only time will tell, but the reality is DeSantis in the White House too soon will make a mess that will endanger the republic moreso than it is in danger now.

WE CANNOT ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN. President Donald Trump was the one to get us to believe in Make America Great Again. He was the one to get us to believe in ourselves and our nation after decades of abusive decline. He’s the one who deserves our support.

Why would this blow up happen now? Who knows, but the questions about all of this are piling up.

Why was DeSantis ALLOWED as a uni-party pick, if he is one, to let Florida thrive during the pandemic? My state’s MAGA pick for governor was run out of office on a trumped up and false charge before the pandemic hit, and we have a uniparty hack who basically didn’t obstruct when local politicians got on power trips with the masks and mandates.

Why now, Sundance? Why bring this up now rather than after the midterms?

Why did this trigger Catturd, thus getting MAGA people to take sides and threatening to divide the movement even more than it had been?

Personally, I think those are the better questions to ask.

The bottom line, though, is that we cannot allow such squabbles to divide us as a movement. President Donald Trump is our leader. Abandoning him now would negate all the accomplishments he has made on our behalf.

In the meantime:

That spawned a whole lot of headlines like this:

Trump Demands Either New Election ‘Immediately’ or Make Him ‘Rightful’ President Now

So…what does President Trump know that we don’t?

Here’s Clandestine’s take:

Trump 2022?

We are barreling forward into uncharted waters, but Trump just gave us a massive hint with his truth today. Which begs the question, how hard would it be to slap Trump and Biden’s name on the 2022 midterm ballot? It’s already a highly anticipated federal election. It’s certainly feasible.

This would explain why Trump has been rallying like he’s on the campaign trail. It would explain why he’s still acting Presidential, and why he hasn’t declared he’s running in 2024. It certainly FEELS like Trump intends to be back sooner than 2024, and it looks like he just revealed his avenue(s) to make that happen.

I thought the most direct path would be to win the midterms with filibuster-proof supermajorities, rendering the Dems useless, appoint Trump as Speaker, impeach Biden and Harris, and Trump is President. Trump denied this as a possibility, and now, I see why. The normies have to be shown just how much the nation TRULY supports Donald Trump.

Why? Humans are extremely susceptible to group-think and mob-mentality. We have the innate drive to “belong” in the group out of the innate FEAR of being ostracized. Thus why the leftist sheep feel so justified in discriminating and hating Trump supporters. Because the media has conditioned them to believe “everyone is doing it”. The sheep don’t know what they are doing, they are just doing what they think they are supposed to be doing.

However, when the tide turns, and the public not only see that not only there really was fraud, but they see the amount of people who legitimately voted for Trump, the sheep will psychologically malfunction. They will have to accept that they are not the majority they believed themselves to be. And when confronted with the reality that “everyone is supporting Trump”, many will ditch their Ukraine and BLM flags, purely as a means to “belong” to the group.

After I first scheduled the post, these came up on Free Republic:

Q: IF (some will consider this a big if) the corruption in our government is ever to be truly exposed and purged… how do you imagine that would happen? How are organized crime networks ever taken down?

A: It always requires some people “on the inside” who take the risk and penetrate the crime network.

Q: IRL how would anybody penetrate the deep state network, and for long enough to be a threat to their power?

A: By appearing to be one of them…

Q: HOW would you or I really know the difference between somebody playing a bad guy role, and an actual bad guy?

A: IMO… we would not know, or the person would be so bad at their job they’d already be dead.

We aren’t going to know until it’s all over, and the last trap has sprung. You either have faith that some good people exist in the world, who’d be willing to risk it all to penetrate and expose the deep state… or you don’t.

Biden Calls on the Mob

They trotted Biden out to a friendly audience in a suburb of Washington, D.C., and he gave a real barn-burner of a speech. He was angrier than an old coot screaming at the neighborhood kids to get off of his yard. Apparently, the Democrats think that is a good look for them. I wonder if they’ve considered that this speech may come to define the Biden presidency?

The speech was about those that voted for Donald Trump, but it revealed a great deal more about our presidential sock-puppet himself. We learned that Joe has an advanced case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Overturn Plyler v. Doe

In 1982, the Court struck down a Texas statute that denied access to taxpayer-funded K-12 education to children brought into the country illegally. It also struck down the Tyler Independent School District’s policy of charging an annual $1,000 tuition fee for each student not “legally admitted” into the U.S. to compensate for lost state funding.

The Court argued that illegal aliens are people “in any ordinary sense of the term” and, as such, afforded Fourteenth Amendment protections. In the majority opinion, Justice William J. Brennan Jr. wrote that such policies would likely lead to “the creation and perpetuation of a subclass of illiterates within our boundaries, surely adding to the problems and costs of unemployment, welfare, and crime.”

The decision in Plyler effectively abstracted the Constitution so as to cover every sentient biped with a prefrontal cortex, exploding the preambular statement that restricted it “to ourselves and our posterity”—to America and Americans. It also meant similar laws anywhere in the U.S would be struck down.

Document reveals identity of donors who secretly funded Nikki Haley’s political nonprofit

Haley’s nonprofit policy advocacy group, Stand For America, Inc., has received major donations from people including New York hedge fund manager Paul Singer, investor Stanley Druckenmiller, and Miriam Adelson and her late husband, casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, the Internal Revenue Service filings reveal.

The roster of supporters who gave undisclosed donations in 2019 also includes Suzanne Youngkin, the wife of Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, himself a possible presidential contender; former Pennsylvania Senate candidate and hedge fund executive David McCormick; and Vivek and Lakshmi Garipalli, members of a New Jersey family that has donated large sums to Democrats — but which gave Haley’s organization $1 million.

The donor list also includes dozens of people who gave anonymously to Haley’s nonprofit but have not given disclosed contributions to her PAC, which was formed two years later and is required to regularly disclose the names of donors who give at least $200. Those contributors include the Garipallis and GOP megadonor Joe Ricketts.

It’s the same names over and over again.

America has an Oedipus complex

The ideology of the mega-rich will shape our society for the next generation, in large part through philanthropy. The non-profit sector, the primary vehicle for inherited wealth to be laundered into political influence, has been growing rapidly; in the US, non-profits’ assets have grown nine-fold since 1980. In 2020, non-profits brought in $2.62 trillion in revenues, constituting over 5.6% of the US economy. Increasingly, much this money came from the new tech elite: among the most prolific donors were Jeff Bezos and his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott; Bill Gates and his now-discarded wife, Melinda French Gates; Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan; and Laureen Powell Jobs, the Left-leaning publisher of the Atlantic and the widow of Apple’s founder.

This rise of non-profits is reminiscent of feudal times, when the rich and powerful donated to the Church to ensure that its message wouldn’t threaten their power. Indeed, our society is becoming more like the Middle Ages all the time, with entrepreneurial success becoming more difficult and property and wealth becoming ever more concentrated. “Inherited wealth”, notes Thomas Piketty, is making a “comeback”. In the US, according to the consulting firm Accenture, the Silent Generation and Baby Boomers will gift their heirs up to $30 trillion by 2030 and $75 trillion by 2060.

The other side is going to try to pin the blame for COVID and the shots on President Trump, but that is beginning to see pushback before it happens.

WAYNE ROOT: Here is Who is to Blame for the Covid Vaccine Disaster and Coverup. Hint: It’s Not President Donald J. Trump.

Now suddenly everyone is waking up from an almost two-year slumber. The lightbulbs are going off. Conservative talk star Dan Bongino just days ago called getting the vaccine “the biggest regret of my life.” He now realizes he has a ticking timebomb in his body that could cripple or kill him sometime soon. He regrets getting it. He regrets ever encouraging his fans and listeners to get it.

Tucker Carlson has gone from warning the Covid vaccine doesn’t work and it’s a huge failure, to reporting dramatically rising death rates in countries all over the world. He even reported data that shows you’re much more likely to die if you’re vaccinated versus unvaccinated.

Welcome to my world Tucker. I’ve been reporting this data every day on my national radio show for the past 18 months.

Capitalism killed the American West

This is the difficult and illuminating thing about reading DeVoto today, because in all of his writings he is resistant to the idea that settlers and small-time workers of the West were the engines of the genocide and despoliation that came to the region in their wake. In DeVoto’s telling, these people were complicated moral agents and often victims themselves, caught up in a churning machine of capital and government that, by the 20th century, had created a Western system defined by “laissez-faire capitalism with socialism, ownership rights without responsibility, investment but not regulation”. It was a picture of the corporatism that now colours every single part of American life, and DeVoto saw it as emerging in its first clear form in the government protection of powerful extractive industries in the Mountain West.

THE MKULTRA EVOLUTIONS

Get Rid of the ANTS

I like to use Dr. Amen’s acronym this way: Automatic Negative Thinking Syndrome, or ANTS. When you automatically think about the worst-case scenario right off the bat, you’re suffering from an infestation of ANTS. This syndrome fuels negativity and incites depression. Instead of thinking positive thoughts or hoping for the best, we instantly think that the worst is going to happen. If a potential job opportunity comes our way, we assume we’re not qualified.

Seven Steps to Unify the Church

I have a different seven steps, but it does need to happen and a place to start.

‘Department Of Homeland Censorship’: How DHS Seized Power Over Online Speech

Democrat Leaders Increasingly Demonize Republican Voters — Not Just Politicians

President Joe Biden plans to host a “Unity Summit” at the White House last month, after telling Democratic donors last week that Republicans who support Donald Trump were guilty of “semi-fascism.”

His comments came after New York Governor Kathy Hochul told Republicans who don’t like the job Democrats are doing in her state to “just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK?” (She later claimed she was just talking about Republican candidates, not ordinary voters.)

And if Democrats had their way, Republicans would not be welcome in Florida, either. Charlie Crist, the party’s nominee to challenge Governor Ron DeSantis, said last week: “Those who support the governor should stay with him and vote for him and I don’t want your vote. If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there. … Those who are haters: you’re gonna go off in your own world.” The unified message from Democrats is that Republicans — not just politicians — are not wanted in society.

Whatever we deplorables do, DO NOT give them an excuse to justify this rhetoric. Keep Calm and MAGA on.

1 CORINTHIANS 2:10-16

10God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11For what person knows a man’s thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. 13And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit. 14The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16“For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

WHEATIE – OUR WARRIOR ANGEL

by Duchess01

Please forgive us, Wheatie, we did not know
That you had left us with armor in tow
We had no idea with what you dealt
We did not know the pain you felt
And now we can only imagine
With you what really did happen
Cause rarely did you complain
And/or share your personal pain
Of one thing we are most certain
You are flying high behind the curtain
Watching over us above the crowds
Our Warrior Angel above the clouds
Thank You, Wheatie, for caring for us
While you were here among the fuss
We miss you dear you have no idea
Since time began in the pangaea
With you there was no time
In your wisdom you would chime
To clarify and magnify
The what where how and why
We did not question when you left
We were not slightly bereft
But over time we wondered why
You did not at least stop by
Now we know where you have gone
With the break of this new dawn
We could be angry but are not
Tho with an arrow we’ve been shot
Rest peacefully Warrior Angel dear
Send us a sign that you are near
A butterfly a flower a kiss of rain
From your love do not refrain
God sends Angels to watch over us
And now we have an Angel Plus
A Warrior Angel of Magnificence
From today and forward hence

The Rules

TL;DR –

Wheatie’s Rules:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Boilerplate, more or less, but worth reading again and again, if only for the minor changes, and to stay out of moderation.

The bottom line is Free Speech. Theories and ideas you don’t agree with must be WELCOME here, and you must be part of that welcoming. But you do NOT need to be part of any agreement.

Bottom line – respect other people’s FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

Our only additional requirement is that you do so NICELY. Or at least try to make some effort in that direction.

SO….. [ENGAGE BOILERPLATE…..]

We must endeavor to persevere to love our frenemies – even here.

Those who cannot deal with this easy requirement will be forced to jump the hoops of moderation, so that specific comments impugning other posters and violating the minimal rules can be sorted out and tossed in the trash.

In Wheatie’s words, “We’re on the same side here so let’s not engage in friendly fire.”

That includes the life skill of just ignoring certain other posters.

We do have a site – The U Tree – where civility is not a requirement. Interestingly, people don’t really go there much. Nevertheless, if you find yourself in an “argument” that can’t really stay civil, please feel free to “take it to the U Tree”. The U Tree is also a good place to report any technical difficulties, if you’re unable to report them here. Please post your comment there on one of Wolf’s posts, or in reply to one of Wolf’s comments, to make sure he sees it (though it may take a few hours).

We also have a backup site, called The Q Tree as well, which is really The Q Tree 579486807. You might call it “Second Tree”. The URL for that site is https://theqtree579486807.wordpress.com/. If this site (theqtree.com) ever goes down, please reassemble at the Second Tree.

If the Second Tree goes down, please go to The U Tree, or to our Gab Group, which is located at https://gab.com/groups/4178.

We also have some “old rules” and important guidelines, outlined here, in a very early post, on our first New Year’s Day, in 2019. The main point is not to make violent threats against people, which then have to be taken seriously by law enforcement, and which can be used as a PRETEXT by enemies of this site.

In the words of Wheatie, “Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven that Wolf has created for us.”

A Moment of Prayer

Our policy on extreme religious freedom on this site is discussed HERE. Please feel free to pray and praise God anytime and anywhere.

Thus, please pray for our real President, the one who actually won the election.

You may also pray for our nation, our world, and even our enemies.

Joe Biden didn’t win.

And we will keep saying Joe Biden didn’t win until we get His Fraudulency out of our White House.

Wolfie’s Wheatie’s Word of the Day Year Week:

parthenogenesis

noun

a natural form of asexual reproduction in which growth and development of embryos occur without fertilization by sperm. In animals, parthenogenesis means development of an embryo from an unfertilized egg cell. In plants parthenogenesis is a component process of apomixis.

Used in a sentence:

Parthenogenesis is defined as “obligate” when organisms exclusively reproduce through asexual means, while it is “facultative” when species that ordinarily rely on sexual reproduction can resort to facultative parthenogenesis under extenuating circumstances that isolate females from males.

Back In My Day: Coal Country Heros – The Blue Side of the Mountain

Time to get back to Coal Country before I lose momentum on the story. This is a longer slog because it pushes along the personal stage setting for future connections.

You can tell how difficult life was for Loretta as the coal miner’s daughter, which sounded somewhat like the life of Dolly and my wife in her BIMD story as well as my father’s family as described in the previous BIMD: Coal Country Heroes – Music Edition.

Even considering those hardships, life on my mother’s side of the family was more difficult. It went on to strongly affect her mental health all of her life as a manic depressive (bipolar) with episodes of schizophrenia. It worsened as she aged and was very noticeable to the public. In her presence it was abuse, a verbal onslaught that never seem to end. She could switch her moods on and off at will in a devious way. She actually believed she was smarter than everybody else around her and that they would never catch that she was insulting or manipulating them. She was physically abusive to my sister and I well beyond normal childhood discipline because our father stayed at work 60 hours per week, so his time at home would be minimal. I shut her abuse down when I became a teenager and had grown more into a man. I had enough of her insanity.

Mother refused to seek treatment and believed others were at the root of her problems. She was sure she even knew more than her doctors and refused treatment for lumps in her breasts. At least until she became so ill and in pain that a double mastectomy was needed. The same situation happened again later that led to a full hysterectomy. But it was everybody else’s fault and she let us all know. An intervention should have occurred by the adults and our father, but didn’t. Even her own mother and sisters could not stand to be around her or talk to her on the phone.

She believed in the occult, held seances with a crazy neice who led them, believed in astrology with her whole being and stereotyped everybody by their signs, delved deep into her Eastern Star background without actually participating with the other members in in the org – all while claiming to be a Christian.

Call it being demon possessed or just Looney Tunes.

She tried opening a beauty shop. Failed in two months. She tried being a real estate agent. Sold one house in about 20 years of doing it.

As a result of her mental illness, life as her husband and child was very difficult. However, when I looked at what she had to live through the first 20 years of her life, it would soften my reactions to her. She was damaged goods. Her neurotransmitters were obviously imbalanced and combined with high stress and environmental factors growing up in a nasty place it led to a lifelong tension and misery that only worsened as she aged until she passed. She was estranged from almost everybody up to the point of her passing away.

She grew up in Lee County, VA in the small coal mining camp town of St. Charles. The town peaked in population size in the 1930s and sits at about 150 people now. Poverty stricken is probably the best wording to describe it then and now, despite the presence of some segment of good, honest people.

Which leads to an anger I have in my heart. Knowing that so many other sad lives and living situations exist throughout our country, our politicians are still quite proud to send tens of billions of dollars to a nation controlled by nazis who money launder, provide sanctuary for criminals and commit bioweapon development and then release it upon humanity. They open the floodgates for illegal invaders to stroll in and around our neighborhoods without repercussions and syphon off resources. Instead they could use the funds to help fellow citizens, to provide hope for a better future.

But that would mean having to actually care about their fellow American citizens and not just talk about it at election time while personally getting rich. Which they don’t. Just lip service day in and day out while sheeple keep bleating their approval. Sickening.

So, maybe there’s another way to get it done anyway, short of revolution. Perhaps doing it through private enterprise while simultaneously cleaning up our political and governmental systems would work. They are not mutually exclusive concepts. However, they do require long term commitments with consistent application. We will discuss this with an example in the last section of this story.

Where The Sun Doesn’t Shine

My mother was the middle child of three daughters and her father was a coal miner and part time Church of Christ preacher. One cold winter night he got word that his father in east TN had a serious heart attack. He left Virginia alone and headed across the mountain in the old family car in a snow storm. He never made it. He died in a single car crash at 33 years of age in 1936. My mother was 6 years old. She had sisters who were 10 and 1 year old with a now widowed, 31 year old mother who had a small beauty shop and apartment rented over an old grocery and general store downtown by the train tracks that ran through the little town.

The town they lived in was where many miners came on weekends to let off steam and blow their paychecks. What happened there was frequently really bad and ugly. It definitely was not a place you would choose to raise three young girls as a widow in the mid-late 1930’s of the Great Depression era with the winds of war in the air.

I still remember the pock marks on the exterior downtown building walls made from bullets that remained that way for decades after the town’s most active days of the 1920s to the 1950s. Bars, cafes, a small hotel, gambling halls, the union hall, and whore houses in addition to the mining company facilities and housing dominated the town back then. There was a small segment of locals who tried to bring order out of chaos and the Christian message from the town’s two active churches. My mother’s father had been such a person, but now he was gone. So my mother grew up in all that nasty mess in fear without a father.

The building that housed my grandmother’s apartment and beauty shop was located about 100 feet at most from the railroad tracks. The smell of the coal from the train yard combined with moisture of the valley on the blue side of the mountain permeated the air. A natural haze from the mountains along with smoke from coal fired fireplaces and furnaces, smoke from train engines, and the burning of trash seem to always hang in the air. Their building would shake as the big trains rolled through. Many times the town’s water supply did not work, which was smelly and rusty even when it did. There were wells with hand pumps and outhouses located in a few areas for residents to fill containers and relieve themselves. Electricity was sporadic at best. The cockroaches were big and many in that old building, which looked like it would explode into flames with a single lit match. It actually did later in the 1980s. To all that add the oppressive smell of a beauty salon and its chemicals from back in those days.

In its heydays in the 1930s
Actual photo of the train yard, mine headquarters, church and company housing. The store and beauty shop were to the left of the train depot. The depot burned down in the 1970s.
The old store today. The beauty shop and apartments were on the second floor of the bigger building.
Part of downtown St. Charles today with the infamous water department in the original small white frame building on the right.

I tried not to hate anything even as a kid, but I literally hated being there despite loving my grandmother. My greatest thrill for the weekend would be to stand on the back exterior stairwell near the tracks and throw rocks at the train cars loaded with coal. It helped me develop a good arm for baseball. Then I would head down to the graveled parking area of the train depot and downtown residents by the train yard tracks and look at my grandmother’s 1957 rusting Plymouth Belvedere that she promised would be mine one day. It kept me occupied I guess. No, the car died long before I reached 16 years old.

Example – hers was darker blue and rusting out.

That place was the true “blue side of the mountain.” But it was home to the locals who enjoyed the rural life of hunting, fishing and a little farming when they were not down in the dark hole working or in some related supporting occupation.

My step grandfather married my grandmother after he returned from service in the Army in WW II. He was a divorced coal miner with a son who lived with his mother in another town and a rough reputation that was probably well earned. He had a terrible relationship with his new step daughters. My grandmother was no saint either. She did whatever she felt she had to do to feed her 3 daughters and get them through school. She also taught them the trade and each became state licensed cosmetologists before marriage.

My step grandfather figured a way out of the mines in the late 1940s. He quit and bought a car that was suited to be a taxi. Since many residents in the area did not have transportation of their own and the passenger railroad and Greyhound bus service no longer stopped there, having a local taxi came in handy. He saved up some of the money he made since my grandmother was able to help pay most of the bills with her beauty shop revenue.

It was during this period of the late 1940s that my father and his parents moved to the St. Charles area to work for Stonega Coal Company. Their former employer in Tennessee had sold. One of the former partners had used the proceeds of the sale to buy Stonega. Papaw worked as an inspector and Dad was a surveyor. One day Dad met a pretty young lady in town who was 8 years younger than him (19). A year later they were married in a church in nearby Pennington Gap.

After the three girls married and moved away, my step grandfather was able to buy over 60 acres on the side of a steep hill in an even more remote area about 15 miles out of town that had electricity on the rural gravel road in front of his property. When that happened he seemed to mellow as a person. It took him several years to build a farm house on the land with the occasional help of a friend. lt was the place where he and my grandmother could eventually retire.

When we visited them I spent as much time there as possible to avoid being in the town. Shot my first rifle and squirrel hunted there as a kid with him. It would be common to find skinned rabbits and squirrels in old shoe boxes in the refrigerator. He taught me how to cook squirrel in red eye gravy as a young boy. It was a cooking lesson I chose to quickly forget.

Unfortunately, it would also be the place where he later committed suicide when he was nearly fully blind at around 70 years of age. He knew he could no longer care for my grandmother at the farm once he could no longer see and his pride would not allow that to happen. He waited until she went into town with a friend one day. She later sold the farm and the beauty shop and moved to a nearby town to be near friends and extended family who would check on her well being daily as she lived out her remaining days.

From Here to There

While I was growing up and visiting that Lee County area as a youth, there was a young man about 10-11 years older than me that was graduating from a high school in the nearby Rose Hill community. Even though he was from Rose Hill from birth, the young man had grown up moving from one coal mining camp town to another his entire life. His father was a coal mine construction worker with the nickname of Spike. He was married to a mountain woman by the name of Maude. They would move with the rest of the crew from one job to another, but they kept their small farm in Rose Hill. By the time the young man graduated back in his native Rose Hill, he had attended 13 different schools during his life.

His father’s construction speciality was in building and rebuilding coal mine tipples. These were the facilities that handled the transfer of coal to the rail cars. Below are images of tipples from around the country.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Coal_mining_tipples_in_the_United_States

You may have already figured out where this is going. The young man’s father worked on tipples at mines where my grandfather was superintendent or inspector, and my father was a surveyor, throughout the region. This means they probably met or worked together as both my father and grandfather would have been involved in the rebuilds in their roles. The young man’s father would also have worked in the area of Loretta Lynn’s family. Which probably also meant Levon Helm visited a sampling of those mines with rebuilt tipples while preparing for his role in Coal Miner’s Daughter. Even the father’s first job building a tipple was in the town that was the subject of the Patty Loveless song from the last story – Harlan, KY.

The young man was very intelligent, athletic and had a charismatic personality. He was a natural leader. He left Rose Hill and went to college at nearby Lincoln Memorial University, the same school my father attended before the war. It was close and more affordable. He played basketball and baseball there while working toward a Biology degree to become a veterinarian. He passed the Board tests and was able to enroll at the University of Georgia vet school. A year and a half later he was married and broke. He changed course and became a pharmaceutical rep. His plan was to work for a time and then switch to humans instead of animals and go to a medical school.

At this point I want the following interview to take over the background of what happened in his life in his own words. The man’s name is Autry “Pete” DeBusk. The interviewer is the former Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice, Dolly Parton protector in high school, and classmate of my wife – Gary Wade. Who is also now a dean in LMU’s Duncan School of Law since retiring from the bench.

Short direct answers to direct questions.

Yep – it happened again didn’t it? You will read more about the highlights Pete wants to share of his life in that interview. Which is an important point. Pete always controls the narrative relating to himself, his family, his businesses, and now, the university he leads.

Pete’s primary company is DeRoyal Industries. The family holds a 100% ownership interest. It is one of the premiere medical supply companies in the world. His son, Brian, runs it as CEO today with Pete remaining on the Board as Chairman. He and/or the company hold over 100 patents. It employs over 2000 people, most of whom are in the manufacturing facilities in east TN. If you have ever had orthopedic surgery, most likely the surgical team used some DeRoyal products. They provide many other medically related product lines as well. The link to the company’s information is below.

https://www.deroyal.com

I have only met Pete briefly at the company’s main office on one occasion back in the mid 1980s. However, his CFO of over a dozen years is a friend and former golfing buddy who was a member of our same small rural church for 30 years. When he left DeRoyal to go into his private CPA practice, he retained Pete as a client along with several other wealthy local business owners. He confirmed that what you see of Pete is exactly who he is. Professional, hard working, focused and all business with no desire to release any personal details about his or his family’s lives. The code of silence extends to employees with the work product and operations. Only Pete and his son deal with company public relations of importance.

Pete and the company have charitable organizations they support. They just generally stay out of public view personally in their support. However, he is openly proud to promote he and his wife’s huge mansion in north Knoxville as well as his role as Chairman of Lincoln Memorial University. His home is in the link below. Befitting his background, he chose to buy the large residential tract of property in a middle class, developed area of north Knoxville, not far from company headquarters and manufacturing. It is also on the side of the city that provides the closest commute to LMU. Which illustrates perfectly in my opinion, that running with society and elites is not anything he is interested in doing. If that were the case, he would have built in the more affluent west Knoxville and Farragut areas to be more near that scene. But he does like nice things.

https://www.wbir.com/article/life/home-garden/the-debusk-mansion-biggest-house-in-knox-county-has-48-rooms-with-a-historic-harp-and-chess-set-of-gold-and-silver/51-d8099899-ce99-406d-989f-38397391ef80

The Lincoln Memorial University story has radically changed the face of higher education in our region. The stated goal of becoming a 6-7000 student enrollment private school with a Coal Country main campus location and a student base with Duke University level excellence is challenging. However, when Pete jumped in it was with the understanding that it had to be run his way as a business and for it to fit the needs of the people of the region at a cost they could afford. Pete and his circle of influence are putting great wealth and knowledge to work to endow LMU and expand into graduate programs one would expect only at bigger, state supported schools. They have added numerous doctorate programs in fields such as Osteopathic Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Therapy, Jurisprudence (Law), and soon, Dental. All of which have been desperately needed to serve the residents in Coal Country and beyond.

https://www.lmunet.edu

My father would not recognize the place now. Pete along with his talented Board, teaching professionals and administration are taking it to the people for the people. Many of the programs are located in Knoxville and other area communities.

A close friend’s son recently completed law school there and passed the Bar Exam in his first sitting. He could not afford to go to the University of Tennessee for his undergrad degree or law school. However, LMU was affordable while using student loans.

One more Goober Gump related observation I learned this week. My wife has a highly respected oral surgeon she adores. She hates dental work, but loves him. Wants me to be more like him. He pets her and is nicer. 😀 He learned from others that my wife grew up with Dolly. So when she sees him for an implant or follow-up, he sings her a Dolly song because he has always been a big fan. It’s almost embarrassing to watch and hear. Cringeworthy, but she loves it.

So, I saw my own dentist this week who is a close friend and referring associate of the oral surgeon. Guess who in this area of well over a million residents is going to be the senior teaching professional for the new LMU Dental School? Yep. The singing oral surgeon and he will be outstanding at it. Pete and his Board have hired a winner just like they did with former Chief Justice Gary Wade. It’s not surprising as Pete loves to win.

Conclusion

I have completely left politics and religion out of Pete’s story up to this point because I do not know with certainty. I suspect Pete is generally a GOP supporter who seeks balance. He has openly supported the current Knoxville based GOP HR elected official, Tim Burchett, throughout his political stops. He has been very close to the GOP Duncan family that held the region’s HR job previously for decades as demonstrated by naming LMU’s law school after John J. Duncan, Jr. He is obviously close to southern Democrat, Gary Wade, and comes from an area that tends to be strongly conservative GOP. His actions reflect his understanding and belief in the Golden Rule.

Some people talk a good game and never quite deliver when it comes to helping others. Still others soak up the accolades and always need a presser to pat themselves on the back. That would not be Pete. He’s more about actual achievement and teaching others to reach for the real American Dream through their actions. That’s the dream where you work hard and smart to build a future. Then in return you send the elevator down to lift up the folks who helped you or are in need of a hand. His competitive spirit will not allow him to fail and it is infectious.

That’s the other way to get it done as a nation in my opinion. Do not trust government and politics to make things happen. You make it happen and use them if they will help. If they refuse or work against you, make them irrelevant and work to bring in better elected officials who will do the right things. Nobody said it would be easy, it’s actually dirty, hard, and thankless like working in a coal mine.

In scripture it is clear God blesses those type efforts because of the honorable intentions of doing unto others what you would have them do unto you as stated in Matt. 7:12 and Luke 6:31. You can always tell when somebody is sincere in their charity efforts. The benefit to the benefactor will be in seeing others succeed, not the personal gain.

Pete did not want folks from his region to endure living like he, his family and the folks around him had to live when he was growing up. He wanted them to have opportunity through education and careers if they were willing to work. Along the way he undoubtedly became a billionaire and has that prideful air about him. But that was not what drove him. What moved him was to provide medical products and education that could help others. That he does it well is what created the wealth that he now uses to continue to help others.

At 79, most folks are out of ideas and energy. Not Pete, he still has plans.

I AM the Way and the Truth and the Life

“I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6) is one of the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus. On the last night before His betrayal and death, Jesus was preparing His disciples for the days ahead. For over three years, these men had been following Jesus and learning from His teaching and example. They had placed their hopes in Him as the Messiah, the promised deliverer, yet they still didn’t understand how He was going to accomplish that deliverance. After the Last Supper, Jesus began speaking about His departure, which led to questions from His disciples.

In John 13:33, Jesus said, “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.” This prompted Peter to ask where He was going (verse 36). Peter and the others did not understand that Jesus was speaking of His death and ascension to heaven. Jesus’ response was, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.” Peter was still misunderstanding and declared that he would follow Jesus anywhere and even lay down His life if necessary. As Jesus patiently continued to teach His disciples, He began speaking more plainly about heaven, describing the place He was going to prepare for them (John 14:2–3). Then Jesus said, “You know the way to the place where I am going” (verse 4). Speaking for the others, Thomas said they did not know where He was going, so how could they know how to follow Him there? It was in answer to this question that Jesus uttered one of the seven famous “I am” statements.

I am – In the Greek language, “I am” is a very intense way of referring to oneself. It would be comparable to saying, “I myself, and only I, am.” Several other times in the Gospels we find Jesus using these words. In Matthew 22:32 Jesus quotes Exodus 3:6, where God uses the same intensive form to say, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” In John 8:58, Jesus said, “Truly, truly I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am.” The Jews clearly understood Jesus to be calling Himself God because they took up stones to stone Him for committing blasphemy in equating Himself with God. In Matthew 28:20, as Jesus gave the Great Commission, He gave it emphasis by saying, “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” When the soldiers came seeking Jesus in the garden the night before His crucifixion, He told them, “I am he,” and His words were so powerful that the soldiers fell to the ground (John 18:4–6). These words reflect the very name of God in Hebrew, Yahweh, which means “to be” or “the self-existing one.” It is the name of power and authority, and Jesus claimed it as His own.

The way – Jesus used the definite article to distinguish Himself as “the only way.” A way is a path or route, and the disciples had expressed their confusion about where He was going and how they could follow. As He had told them from the beginning, Jesus was again telling them (and us) “follow me.” There is no other path to heaven, no other way to the Father. Peter reiterated this same truth years later to the rulers in Jerusalem, saying about Jesus, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). The exclusive nature of the only path to salvation is expressed in the words “I am the way.”

The truth – Again Jesus used the definite article to emphasize Himself as “the only truth.” Psalm 119:142 says, “Your law is the truth.” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reminded His listeners of several points of the Law, then said, “But I say unto you . . .” (Matthew 5:22, 28, 32, 34, 39, 44), thereby equating Himself with the Law of God as the authoritative standard of righteousness. In fact, Jesus said that He came to fulfill the Law and the prophets (Matthew 5:17). Jesus, as the incarnate Word of God (John 1:1) is the source of all truth.

The life – Jesus had just been telling His disciples about His impending death, and now He was claiming to be the source of all life. In John 10:17–18, Jesus declared that He was going to lay down His life for His sheep, and then take it back again. He spoke of His authority over life and death as being granted to Him by the Father. In John 14:19, He gave the promise that “because I live, you also will live.” The deliverance He was about to provide was not a political or social deliverance (which most of the Jews were seeking), but a true deliverance from a life of bondage to sin and death to a life of freedom in eternity.

In these words, Jesus was declaring Himself the great “I Am,” the only path to heaven, the only true measure of righteousness, and the source of both physical and spiritual life. He was staking His claim as the very God of Creation, the Lord who blessed Abraham, and the Holy One who inhabits eternity. He did this so the disciples would be able to face the dark days ahead and carry on the mission of declaring the gospel to the world. Of course, we know from Scripture that they still didn’t understand, and it took several visits from their risen Lord to shake them out of their disbelief. Once they understood the truth of His words, they became changed people, and the world has never been the same.

So how do we follow Him today? The same way the disciples did long ago. They heard the words of Jesus and believed them. They took His words and obeyed them. They confessed their sins to Jesus as their Lord and God. They believed that He died to take the punishment of their sins and rose from the dead to give them new life. They followed His example and command to tell others the truth about sin, righteousness, and judgment. When we follow Him in “the way,” we can be assured of following Him all the way to heaven.

2022·08·27 Joe Biden Didn’t Win Daily Thread

And Pat Benatar Thought I Had Forgotten…

Well, in truth, I’ve had a couple of major distractions. But fortunately I’m on a 5 week regurgitation cycle so it doesn’t last long.

Another performance of Hit Me With Your Best Shot, from the department of Keep Rubbing Silly Leftists’ Noses In How Silly They Are, c/o The Q Tree.

Justice Must Be Done

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.

Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.

Lawyer Appeasement Section

OK now for the fine print.

This is the WQTH Daily Thread. You know the drill. There’s no Poltical correctness, but civility is a requirement. There are Important Guidelines,  here, with an addendum on 20191110.

We have a new board – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation.

And remember Wheatie’s Rules:

1. No food fights
2. No running with scissors.
3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
4. Zeroth rule of gun safety: Don’t let the government get your guns.
5. Rule one of gun safety: The gun is always loaded.
5a. If you actually want the gun to be loaded, like because you’re checking out a bump in the night, then it’s empty.
6. Rule two of gun safety: Never point the gun at anything you’re not willing to destroy.
7. Rule three: Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
8. Rule the fourth: Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

(Hmm a few extras seem to have crept in.)

Spot (i.e., paper) Prices

Last week:

Gold $1,748.60
Silver $19.16
Platinum $906.00
Palladium $2,210.00
Rhodium $14,900.00

This week, 3PM Mountain Time, markets have closed for the weekend.

Gold $1,740.10
Silver $19.01
Platinum $871.00 [on sale]
Palladium $2,194.00
Rhodium $14,600.00

Things actually seem to be fairly stable, not much movement in a week. Platinum probably moved the most, percentage wise. And down, too.

On Recent Controversy

Claims that the Big Bang theory was in deep trouble erupted earlier this week, and people were wondering what I’d have to say about it.

Unfortunately, I can’t find anything out about this, beyond what was posted. So I have to answer “I don’t know.”

(Now before someone accuses me of copping out…the real cop out would be for me to make something up, like some charlatan would. The real character weakness is refusing to acknowledge you just don’t know, fearing that people will think less of you for not knowing the answer.)

One key claim was that there wasn’t enough helium in the universe, but I continue to find the numbers that fit the model.

I am not myself a cosmologist. That means I have to rely on actual cosmologists and physicists, and ones I know of that wouldn’t shy away from controversy are silent on the issue.

Which means either, that there’s nothing there, or they’re trying to figure something out. I can’t tell which.

But lets assume there’s Something There…and the Big Bang Model is actually in trouble. It will likely take years for this to play out. And if anyone reading this is rooting for it to be wrong, because you somehow imagine it will show that Genesis 1 was right all along, you’re probably in for a nasty surprise. The “opposition” model is that the universe had no beginning at all, which would be even more in contradiction to Genesis. (Of course there’s no guarantee that that model is the one that would prevail when the dust clears; it could be something no one has even thought of yet, as unexpected as…well, as unexpected as the Big Bang was, originally.)

Science is a body of knowledge…and it’s also a process. As I wrote those physics posts, all thirty of them, I tried to not just outline what is currently believed to be the case, but also why. I had to simplify it a lot, not just for your benefit but for my own. The bits I know best are all classical (pre 1894) physics, and my deepest delve was into “classical” electromagnetism…as you might have suspected given how deeply I tried to go into the math.

None of that would be affected by the current controversy.

It’s true that science is full of humans who have their own psychological failings, hanging onto a a pet theory long after it’s dead, for instance; and sometimes those people simply have to die and get out of the way before further progress is made.

But progress is made, and quite a lot of it.

I maintain that science is by far the most effective method for learning about the world around us. The process is such that the truth will eventually come out. And indeed since the scientific method was founded, largely by Galileo…well, look at all of the technology we have compared to 1600–where most people’s lives were essentially the same as they were under the Roman Empire. That technology depends on the body of knowledge science has assembled. And if that body of knowledge weren’t largely correct…the tech wouldn’t work.

I love getting online and reading a denunciation of quantum mechanics from someone who clearly doesn’t realize that the semiconductors in their computer could not function if quantum mechanics were as wrong as they claim.

Is there a lot we don’t understand yet? Certainly! Absolutely!!! But I can think of no other way to gain that understanding.

It’s basically in areas that haven’t found practical applications yet, where there is still some fuzziness to the picture, and I will include cosmology, including such things as dark matter and dark energy, and inflation. That stuff is bleeding edge science, which involves a lot of speculation which many YouTube channels and the like will report without bothering to explain how speculative it is. Inflation is generally treated as proven fact, when in reality it’s simply a speculation that matches what we see today better than anything else. I doubt any cosmologist would claim it’s proved, just that it’s very likely to be true because nothing else fits. I talked about it some for that reason…but left more speculative stuff out. (I didn’t cover string theory, I didn’t cover supersymmetry, I didn’t cover…)

I have to admit I often wondered if inflation were just a kludged-on “thing” to make the theory work when the theory was in trouble. They certainly have no idea what could have caused it, they just figure it “must have” happened. Likewise dark matter. I was reassured, though, when I realized there were two distinct trails of evidence that it must exist. On the other hand, we still haven’t detected it in the laboratory. Dark energy is even more enigmatic.

I am strongly reminded of the situation from 1894…where we thought we had the broad picture and there were just a few little loose ends to tie up. And then those loose ends ended up showing us a whole ‘nother layer to the puzzle–in fact two of them, quantum mechanics and relativity.

Are we about to go through something like those tumultuous years again?

That would be really cool, and I mean that.

Maybe someday I’ll tackle earth history. But there was a revolution in that field in the 1960s. Everything was upended. Now, nothing makes sense in geology and geophysics without plate tectonics…but in 1960 no one believed it. Alfred Wegener, who said it must have happened but couldn’t explain how, was considered, let’s just say, a minority viewpoint, if not a crank. I’ve seen talks by geologists who were in college at that time, and it was truly exciting. Their whole specialty was being remade before their eyes…and what came out at the end made sense. They talk about that whole process with joy. They’re glad they were alive to see it!

As a kid in the early 1970s, I had an out-of-date book originally published around 1960 that talked about how we don’t know why volcanoes appear where they do. Geology didn’t make sense; it was just a bunch of unconnected facts with some weird details that made no sense at all (e.g., fossils of some species appearing in South America and Africa, but nowhere else…how did it spread to just those two areas?) Now, of course, we know. Geology makes sense because of the revolution of the 1960s, because of plate tectonics. Just like biology only makes sense because of evolution, and chemistry only makes sense because of the periodic table, and electromagnetism only makes sense because of Maxwell’s equations.

Right now the Big Bang still makes sense…but there are nagging issues, apparently. I’ve found videos from over a year ago that allude to some (in other words, stuff that came up before JWST). I need to watch them still. Will the issues be resolved consistent with the Big Bang, will their resolution modify it in subtle ways, or will they kick it over like an applecart? And if the latter, what replaces it? Who knows?

[Just remember that the replacement theory must 1) explain everything the current theory explains, preferably better and more simply, plus 2) things we know about that it does not (in other words it must tie up what I’ve been calling loose ends), and 3) it must also be able to predict things the old theory couldn’t, and those predictions must come true. Remember General Relativity: It was basically 1) like Newtonian gravity most of the time (so it explained the things Newtonian gravity did), 2) it explained that extra precession of Mercury’s line of apsides, and 3) it predicted the bending of light as shown during the 1919 solar eclipse by Eddington. It’s not enough to just throw cherry-picked rocks at the current theory and say your new idea explains the stuff the rocks hit.]

The answer, one way or another, will be interesting. We’ll learn a lot!

The Second American Civil War, and Ways to Win It

America is in dire need of leaders and supporters who care much more about the preservation of the nation’s constitutional republic than about enriching themselves or doing only what their major donors desire.  America needs many more courageous, patriotic leaders like Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who, along with other bold actions, recently fired a George Soros–funded leftist Florida prosecutor.

America Has Become Less Liberal, but Not Necessarily More Conservative

The left is losing the battle for the minds of the American electorate, Morning Consult research shows, with voters decreasingly identifying as liberal in recent years. But that doesn’t mean the country is lurching to the right.

Instead, an increase in the share of Americans who identify as moderate, or who are uncertain about where exactly they stand on the ideological spectrum, reveals a growing and electorally decisive center that is discontented with either side’s extremes.

They’re still distracted.

The Economist chimes in:

What Would the Devil Have to Do Today to Destroy America?

In 1965, columnist and commentator Paul Harvey wrote an interesting piece titled, “If I were the Devil.”  This was basically a commentary on what Harvey would do if he were Satan and wanted to destroy America.

Nearly 60 years later, most of what Harvey predicted has come to pass.  While America has not been completely destroyed, our nation is clearly in decline.  In 2022, here’s what I would do if I wanted to finish the job.

The Vaccine Money Has Dried Up At Fox News!

In case you missed it, the pro-vaccine frauds at Fox News are trying to pivot away from pushing the experimental Big Pharma shots day and night for two years — it’s almost like the Pfizer and Moderna advertising dollars have suddenly dried up!

Something is going on at FOX on this, that’s for sure.

What’s Going On in America

What’s going on today does not make sense — especially for those Americans who want America to succeed and remain the number-one superpower on Earth.  When Mr. Biden allows for the FBI to raid his once and probably future political opponent’s personal home and threaten his political opponent with jail time in our democratic republic, we know that’s not fair, not just, and un-American.  When we see fences around the White House, fences around the FBI headquarters, and fences surrounding the Capitol dome, yet there are no fences on our southern border, we know it’s just not right.  When we are forced to take experimental vaccines (a clear violation of the Nuremberg Code) or not allowed to work or move about the country freely, we know that’s just not right.  When we see that $85 million of American military equipment left for terrorists and goat-herders in Afghanistan who hate us and want our destruction, we wonder who is fighting for us.

We have to fight for ourselves. No one else is going to do it.

A Reckoning Is Coming. Can They Escape It?

But, a reckoning is coming, and you can see the signs if you know where to look. The reckoning started before today when Anthony Fauci decided to “retire” after decades of service. It started before Walensky decided to “restructure” and “reform” the CDC. But these are two little signs that they know a dam is about to break, and they are doing their best to get in front of it before they are all flooded out. They are attempting these “changes” so that they can hide behind them and use them as cover for accountability. “See! We knew we did wrong; that is why we went ahead and fixed all of those pesky issues that caused us to harm millions of our citizens! We did wrong, we are sorry, and we restructured to make sure it never happens again.”

I wanted to make a list of their transgressions, but when I began to throw some of them out there, I realized how monotonous it would get. They started when the first case of COVID was formally declared here in the United States because their data showed the virus was circulating here far earlier. I proved it. Many of you also experienced it yourselves in the fall of 2019.

The U.S. Government, guided by the CDC, NIH, and other bureaucracies, literally DESTROYED the entire country. And it wasn’t just a United States thing; it was an entire world thing. It was tyrannical globalism. Not the kind that is ushered in by getting folks all amped up about global warming. This was much different. This was forced.

International Military Tribunals to be Held in Mariupol, Ukraine!

Comment by the Russian Embassy in the United States on the State Department’s statement on the upcoming Tribunal in Mariupol:

🔹We have taken note of another groundless accusations against our country related to the Tribunal over Ukrainian war criminals.

🔹The upcoming Trial is aimed at bringing justice to war criminals, among which there are Nazis from the Azov Regiment. Washington is clearly afraid of making public the evidence of the inhumane acts committed by the members of this terrorist organization.

Well, alrighty, then.

Is Something Else Going On In Wuhan?

The Galveston National Laboratory (GNL), part of the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), the Epoch Times reports, now concedes that officials signed “poorly drafted” agreements with three Chinese labs, including the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

The agreements gave China the power to destroy “secret files, materials, and equipment, without any backups.” The agreements applied to “all cooperation and exchange documents, data, details and materials,” were renewable every five years, and the confidentiality terms remain in force even after termination.

The UTMB claims that no documents or confidential information had been destroyed, and denies there was ever any request that documents be destroyed. That claim troubled biosafety activist Edward Hammond.

“Is it sloppiness, as UTMB suggests?” Hammond asked the Epoch Times, “or is something else going on?” The answer requires a review of matters neglected by Congress and establishment media alike.

RINO Republicans sit on the board of a nonprofit which bankrolls global leftwing censorship efforts

Founded in 2006, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue is a London-based nonprofit with a stated purpose of “safeguarding human rights and reversing the rising tide of polarisation [sic], extremism, and disinformation worldwide.” The group previously worked with the Obama administration, combating “violent extremism”, and their website lists critical topics most vulnerable to fake news and hate speech….

So which Republicans help fund this nightmarish leftist enterprise? If you guessed Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, or Mitt Romney, you’d be correct. However, a few more are flying under the radar, and they are Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst, Dan Sullivan, and Kay Granger.

Those seven members of Congress sit on the board of the International Republican Institute, which is listed as a donor to ISD. Additionally, ISD lists partnerships with the McCain Institute — John McCain was a former chairman for 25 years — as well as a tentacle of the United Nations. On top of receiving funding from the IRI and those seven prominent Republicans, other benefactors to the ISD include George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

1 CORINTHIANS 1:17-25

17For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will thwart.” 20Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Back In My Day: Local Big Box News and … Golf?!

Need to pass along some observations and a story or two in the current news. Just the usual Goober Gump deal for a story that means a lot to me. Will resume the Coal Country series in few days.

Building Materials

We have a couple of contractor friends who have handled a lot of work for us in the past at our and our daughter’s house. They have been doing a kitchenette for us on the bottom floor before college football seasons starts and to handle the grandsons’ ravenous appetites when they stay with us. Their backlog for work projects related to remodels and renovations is growing by leaps and bounds. They are scheduled well into January. New home starts have slowed down significantly. However, existing home sales are still happening with many people scaling back in size with plans to remodel to fit their individual desires.

For what it’s worth, a 2″x4″x8′ has gone from $9 a board to $5 a board in the past two weeks at the big box stores in our area. The interesting thing is that is for premium grade lumber, not stud or #2, which is the same price if you can find it. Similar type thing going on with decking boards. Which tells me the big boxes are having a hard time sourcing supply at the same time that the demand is decreasing for building products overall. The opposite is true for house wiring. It went from $50 per 100 foot roll to $120. Ridiculous. Hopefully, it and other home materials costs will continue to drift down to more affordable levels to support We the People.

PGA Tour Versus LIV Golf

Say what? What in the world is that doing here?

The current controversy in professional golf, has international implications. The Saudis have a Public Investment Fund they are using to sportswash their nasty image. Of course that is not what they are calling it, but it is the obvious purpose. An example of it is called LIV Golf. It stands for the Roman numerals representing 54, of which they have 54 professional golfers competing over 54 holes in a revised tournament format that does both team and individual competition. It is led by former international and PGA Tour golfer Greg Norman, who has been a thorn in the side of the PGA Tour since his playing days.

In contrast, the PGA Tour is recognized internationally as the elite golf tour in the world. Virtually every star from rival tours desires to join the PGA Tour and make it in America. The European Tour is the next most prominent and the two tours coordinate events well together. They both build their tours on giving back to the communities and related charities at each tournament location. The golfers routinely interact with the charities and public, playing in pro-ams before the tournament starts to promote the game, sportsmanship, gain donations for charities, while visiting with the charities themselves. Many of the golfers and their families are some of the finest human beings on the planet as evidenced by their paying it forward everywhere they go.

The PGA Tour is highly competitive and if you do not play well over the course of a season, you may have to drop back to a lesser tour to try to earn your way back. To make money and earn your way to keeping playing privileges you have to make the cuts of tournaments after 36 holes of 72 holes of play. To subsidize their expenses, most of the golfers have sponsors who help cover the costs. The players will advertise their sponsors on their clothing and hats as well as play in corporate events in the off weeks. The better you perform, the more money you receive from bigger name sponsors.

PGA Tour Tournaments are held around the country as well as in the UK, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Dominican Republic. The obvious primary goal is to win a tournament. If a golfer does, their job is assured for a couple of years at least and 5 years if it is one of the 5 major tournaments. If they don’t make cuts, they earn no points. It is all done on that point system based on performance in the tournaments. The higher they finish in the many weekly tournaments, the more money and points they earn. At the end of the season the top points earning golfers compete in what is called the FedEx Cup over the course of three tournaments. FedEx is a major sponsor of the tour overall as well as a tournament in Memphis that generates revenue for St, Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

By playing well, making cuts and advancing to the final tournament of Top Thirty golfers, the best playing privileges for the next season are awarded as well as huge amounts of money depending on the order of finish in that last tournament. In other words, making the Top 30 is a big deal and can make your career and family’s future. This year, the winner of The FedEx Cup takes home a cool $18 million. Yeah – that’s right.

The LIV does none of that except pay big money. They basically have bought the players. The tour is not built around charities. They went after all the famous guys they could get and paid them crazy amounts of money on multi-year contracts to just play the tour, which has a much more limited schedule. Then they pay them based on how they play in each tournament. There are no cuts – they make money no matter what. So a guy can play lousy and still make a fortune. Most of the golfers that left the PGA and European Tours to play LIV were on the backside of their careers or were wannabes. However, many of them want to also pick and choose playing on the PGA and European Tour events whenever they want despite no longer being eligible to do so per each tour’s regulations. So the attorneys and courts are now getting involved because the players are all independent contractors and not employees.

It is easy to understand their motivation. They were no longer as competitive on the PGA and European Tours, but have recognizable names to fans. They make more money to play less golf with less rounds per tournament. They have minimal PR or charity appearance obligations. They are independent contractors who can do what they want. So they whore themselves out to take the money. The problem is they also want to use the other tours to play in the big events without doing what is required of them as members, thereby circumventing the whole process. They are trying to get the world golf ranking organization to assign points for performance in the new LIV tour that is less competitive, fantasy land, Saudi money backed show pony stuff, so they will qualify for the major world events they are no longer qualified to play.

Kind of like Democrats do. Corrupt a successful system for personal gain.

I have been proud of the unified responses of the PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan, as well as Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and others who have stood up to them. To cut to the chase – nope. You left on your own, which is your right, but you are out. Which has been both PGA and European tours’ official responses. I consider what the quitters are trying to do as insulting. The players that left simply went for the money and reduced competition. It is easier, less taxing on the body, and they do not have to play often. By doing so they spat on the tours that helped make their names and careers, when they are already wealthy beyond what they ever imagined when they first started. Will see what happens, but the PGA Tour has responded by fighting and winning so far in court as well as in a huge way with great improvements for their member golfers. They have also retained all of their tournament sponsors who have increased their contributions significantly. There is no shortage of great young talent playing their tails off to make it to the PGA and European Tours who would never dream of biting the hand that fed them. Let’s encourage and reward them. Which is what the PGA Tour has done with this announcement today. Not only are the players big winners, so are the fans and sponsors.

Sorry, not sorry, House of Saud. Go pound sand.

I will refrain from commenting much on PDT sponsoring an LIV golf tournament at one of his clubs recently. Wish he had not, but that’s a business deal for him to decide. In general he has been a big promoter of the game.

Being a golfer and having followed professional golf all of my life, I’ve had my favorites. It all started for me with The Golden Bear – Jack Nicklaus – and continued on from there. However, I follow the big names as well as the lesser equally as I like to watch success, failure and human interest stories develop. It’s a reflection of life. Which leads to…

Scott Stallings

One of my contractor friends above is close friends with my favorite PGA Tour golfer, Scott Stallings, and his parents in particular for the past dozen years or so. As background, my friend accepted Christ as his Savior in his mid 30s and was mentored at his church by Scott’s father, Tim. The Stallings family are devout Christians and known regionally as class acts. They do a lot of Christian outreach and community work to help others as well as in the disaster relief mission field. Tim, who is retired, and his wife, Cheryl, with Scott and his sister moved to the area from Massachusetts for Tim’s work at DOD when Scott was six years old. I was a former member of the golf club that Tim and family joined when they moved here 30+ years ago. I played the same golf course on which Scott learned to play the game for several years before they arrived.

Scott and family.

Our daughter competed in high school golf at the same time as Scott in the district and regional tournaments. We met him and watched him play as a teenager during those days. Despite not receiving any major college offers, which was bizarre, he decided to go to Tennessee Tech U where he was the Ohio Valley Conference golfer of the year twice as well as an honors student all four years. He married his college sweetheart, Jenn, and they hit the road after graduation in their Honda. He played the lesser tours to gain experience and eventually worked his way onto the main PGA Tour 11 years ago. He found success winning three tournaments in his 20s. However, his health took a turn for the worse as he neared the age of 30. He had developed adrenal fatigue, allergy related sinus issues and had gained a lot of weight from life on the road while not doing conditioning work. He struggled for a few more years and could not seem to find the sources of his physical problems. Finally, a thorough physical and some straight talk from a medical specialist got through to him. He came home and apologized to his wife. He promised things would change.

Before – at the 2014 Masters tournament a couple of months after his last tournament win at Torrey Pines.

Boy, did they ever. Over the next several years he began to totally transform his body and mind. He is now chiseled. Totally reversed his health and conditioning to a well cut 30 year old equivalent body using Cross-Fit techniques and other golf specific fitness and nutrition methods. He became a pioneer of sorts for the methodology. It also attracted a sponsorship from NOBULL fitness, which is an elite speciality fitness shoe and apparel provider.

https://www.nobullproject.com

The process took 3-4 years. He dropped 48 pounds and 16% body fat while adding muscle in the right places that complemented his swing and style of play. He is known by all on tour now as a work-out fiend including having all meals prepared in advance per his nutritionalist’s directions. These physical changes meant he had to adapt his mind to his new body. It took about 4 years to get there, but he was able to remain a top 125 PGA Tour golfer and be an exempt qualifying player on the tour during the period, which in itself was a great accomplishment with all of the talent he competes against each week. However, he has not won a tournament since the health issues and fitness work began while nearing the normal twilight years of a professional golfer’s career.

After – last Sunday at the BMW tournament

Scott always had one goal each season that he had never achieved – to make the Tour Championship of the FedEx Cup for the Top 30 players on the world’s premiere tour. These golfers get to play in the season finale for a boatload of money, playing privileges and prestige. That goal was finally achieved on Sunday. He nearly won the BMW sponsored qualifying tournament, coming in second to the winner, Patrick Cantlay by one shot. Over the weekend he played with two future Hall of Famers – Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott. They clearly enjoyed playing with him and cheered him on as he played better than both.

As Scott said with a laugh after the tournament, “Better late than never.” It was a reference to his age and how long he had been on tour before achieving his goal. Or as I tell my family members, “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” He started the tournament outside of the Top 30 at #46. With his finish he moved up to #12 going into the finale this weekend.

This type performance makes a professional golfer’s career. Top 30 on the PGA Tour is the equivalent of Top 40-50 in the world. For next season he will have an invitation to all of the major golf tournaments in the world and be able to set his schedule for what works best for him and his family at a time when the tour has exploded with opportunity as shown in the above PGA info link. He has arrived. With his new body, healed spirit, a wonderful family, and expert team supporting him including his quality caddie, he still may have 5-10 years of great golf ahead. I suspect we will see him back in the winner’s circle before long. He has made nearly $17 million in his career with nearly $4 million coming this season as he has improved his overall play and ranking to its highest level since he began with 7 top 10 tournament finishes. That will only increase even more this week.

He’s just an average kid from east TN who worked his way to his dreams with a lot of family, friends, supporters and professionals to assist him along the way. Nothing was handed to him. He earned all of it. Yet, he never changed from being humble, honest, hard working, and kind to others. Just like his family, a chip off the old block. As an example, in recent years he started a foundation called “Kids Play Free” for junior golf in the state. He and his foundation’s staff arrange for kids to play free at numerous courses around the state with the foundation footing the costs, which comes primarily out of his pocket along with some corporate sponsorships. The golf course owners also reduce or even eliminate their fees to assist. He also continues to teach the game to wounded Army veterans. He is very involved in his church’s mission activities when he is town and in the off season. All on his own time and dime.

Another example of his good character was back when he was having health issues. He tried a supplement recommended by his physician. He did not realize the supplement had an ingredient that was on the tour’s banned list. Despite it not helping, when he found out he notified the tour. He did not try to hide it as many would do and have done since he was not being drug tested. He self imposed a three month ban from playing that the Tour agreed was sufficient. He put his career at risk, but to him setting a good example matters.

His career happened because he was able to go with his dad to see a PGA golf tournament at age 12. It was a tournament that had Tiger Woods. He was immediately hooked. He came home from that tournament and quit all other sports despite growing up a Boston Red Sox, NE Patriots and Boston Celtics fan. Golf was his game and later, his occupation and mission field.

In the off season and his weeks off you can sometimes find him at the local Donald Ross designed historic golf course at Holston Hills in Knoxville.

If you like golf, I hope you will join me in wishing the best for one of the good guys starting Thursday in the FedEx Cup finale as well as into the future.

Russian MIL Discuss US Crimes Against Humanity at SCO Summit

Russian Defense Minister, the highest ranking Russian military official only behind Putin, Sergei Shoigu, spoke at the meeting in great depth on the Special Military Operation in Ukraine, and goes absolutely scorched earth on the US and the activities of the Deep State. He goes over the reason for Russia’s invasion, the Deep State biological network, the Nazi war-crimes, Taiwan, EVERYTHING!

Note to Liz Cheney: You’re No Lincoln

Unlike Epstein, I have met Liz Cheney (and her parents) and have a actual basis on which to question her ethics and political motivations.

After I sat next to her at a luncheon about a year into Obama’s first term, she invited me to an intimate and private dinner with two of George W. Bush’s former national security advisers.  The four of us spent several hours discussing Iran, Iraq, al-Qaeda, and Israel, and it was clear that Cheney was preparing to launch her political career, for which she had high aspirations.  She asked me to write a white paper on why Israel is a strategic asset to the United States and offered to pay me $2,000 for my product.  I spent one month thoroughly researching the 6,000-word paper, which was edited by a highly respected former NSA official, foreign policy expert, journalist, and conservative thinker.

After receiving the final paper from both of us in separate emails, Cheney never responded.  She went completely MIA.  To this day, I have no idea if she ever used the paper in her campaign or work in Congress.  She never thanked me, never paid me, and never reached out to me again.  I would call that rude, unprofessional, and certainly unethical.  It showed a lack of character and morals, but it also showed hubris — the kind we often see from politicians like Obama and Hillary, who not only believe themselves above the law, but believe they are entitled to their power and the rest of us are here to serve them.

ENEMIES OF THE REGIME

In reality Dugin’s proximity to Putin and the scale of his influence over him remains persistently exaggerated for reasons more to do with Dugin’s influence in the West than in Moscow, and the Western elite’s increasingly narcissistic and totalitarian character. Dugin is both the best-known contemporary Russian philosopher and among the most influential philosophers associated with the global reactionary Right. In connecting his positions to Putin the suggestion is floated that this whole school of thought, and ultimately all political dissidence, is directed from Moscow as a subversion strategy, without any real substance, or legitimate grievance, and therefore may be suppressed, as opposed to acknowledged and reckoned with….

Ubiquitous accusations of fascism belong to the same register albeit in more metaphysical, if equally delusional terms. Russia at least is a concrete geopolitical actor. Fascism and its various cognates (the far-right, white supremacism, etc.) is a supernatural contagion, somehow perpetually “rising” inversely to progressive political victories. Dugin himself has already registered the main thrust of this logic:

“First of all, they view all their enemies as fascists. After that, they begin to kill them because they are fascists. Nobody investigates anything. That’s just Bolshevism, just like in the Bolshevik Revolution or in the French Revolution. Everybody who is declared an enemy of the revolution should be exterminated.”

Fascism in this sense represents little more than the term of choice to dehumanise enemies of a paranoid political regime in order to persecute them. Nothing about this is new. In sixteenth and seventeenth century Europe the terms gazari and vaudois, after the destroyed Cathar and Waldensian heresies, were used the same way to propagate the orgy of murder today known as the witch trials.

Stopping Biden After November

Given the past inclination of Republicans to fight amongst themselves on the sidelines, it is an inconvenient truth that a slim congressional majority would not be enough to save them from their own party intrigues and petty rivalries.  Former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan, who held himself up as the morally superior conscience of the Republican Party, saw Donald Trump as more an intruder than a president. He tolerated the White House agenda and held his nose as he gave them legislative victories — rewriting the tax code and rebuilding the military — before retiring with a smile and surrendering the gavel to Nancy Pelosi.

Watching the waking up is painful in its slowness.

Declining Empire At War

Every single American needs to read Christopher Caldwell’s powerful piece asking what on earth the US is doing in Ukraine. Excerpts:

Never has an official non-belligerent been more implicated in a war. Russia and its sympathizers assert that the U.S. attempt to turn Ukraine into an armed anti-Russian camp is what the war is about in the first place. Even those who dismiss this view will agree that the United States has made itself a central player in the conflict. It is pursuing a three-pronged strategy to defeat Russia through every means short of entering the war—which, of course, raises the risk that the United States will enter the war. One prong is the state-of-the-art weaponry it is supplying to Ukraine. Since June, thousands of computer-guided artillery rockets have been wreaking havoc behind Russian lines. A second prong is sanctions. With western European help, Washington has used its control of the choke points of the global marketplace to impoverish Russians, in hopes of punishing Russia. Finally, the U.S. seeks to rally the world’s peoples to a culture war against an enemy whose traditionalism, even if it does not constitute the whole of his evil, is at least a symbol of it.

The American Tower of Babel

Today, we call it atomization. We believe it is especially driven by technology. But it’s not simply the machines that are creating human automatons. We have allowed the machines to create and shape our metaphysics. Part of the problem is that we have lost the threads between different spheres of life. There is no longer a difference between the public and the private self. Such notions are absent from the intellectual discussion.

People do engage with one another, but just like the endless stream of tweets, the discourse is shallow, uninformed, and narcissistic. Do we really expect to create a culture that thrives on creativity in an environment that is this toxic? Are we really that blind to the reality of a constant feedback loop that is clearly shaping an insane society that cannot sustain itself any longer?

Politics is one of the essential spheres of life. Even if we don’t consider ourselves overly political, as citizens, we engage in politics in one form or another. What happens when this particular sphere is overtaken by irrationality and corruption? A citizen will either acquiesce or fight. But what kind of life is one of submission or perpetual reaction? Either way, creation loses, and destruction wins.

Cultural Marxism: a thread

The problem is, Marx didn’t live long enough to actually organize such a working class revolution. And when his successors tried, they discovered a small problem: the working class doesn’t want revolution, and in fact the working class is the most conservative class in society,

even more so than the capitalists (who led the revolution out of feudalism). Economic conflict couldn’t overcome forces like religion, patriotism and tradition even more so than the capitalists (who led the revolution out of feudalism)

Economic conflict couldn’t overcome forces like religion, patriotism and tradition

What to do? British Fabians, a group of Marxist intellectuals, realized there was one class that was open to the idea of revolution, namely the intellectuals like themselves. They looked down on

religion and tradition as superstition, and instead of loyalty to their nation they felt loyalty only to “The People”. (Only in the abstract, of course, they didn’t seem to want the company of actual dirty uneducated people.)

Based on what I’ve seen uncovered in the past week and a half since all The Pit researchers started digging into the Konnech info: When the FBI went digging into this they uncovered a massive scandal implicating the DOD and several intel/5 EYES intel agencies in either deliberately handing this open door into our elections to the CCP or they did it accidentally from incompetence. Either way, the FBI was looking at a massive scandal that would implicate top DOD officials and Intel agency officials. They were faced with two options: pull the lid off this Pandora’s Box and pursue it where ever it led OR make it go away by flipping it on the whistleblowers who brought the Konnech data to them, Gregg Phillips and Catherine Engelbrecht of True The Vote. You’ll NEVER guess which option the FBI brass decided on….

The Republic is Threatened, not Destroyed

While I rarely disagree with Victor Davis Hanson, I have to take exception to what he said on Mark Levin’s Fox show, August 14: “We’re no longer a republic anymore.  We’re in a transition to a radical democracy.”

No blinkers here.  Yes, the republic is imperiled, but is it finished?  Unintentional, no doubt, but saying that America is cooked is tantamount to waving a big, white flag.  Where’s the righteous indignation and warrior spirit so necessary to winning this fight?

Do we want to send messages of defeat to tens of millions of patriots?  Mission accomplished for Democrats and their allies?  Bye, bye, rule of law?  Good luck maneuvering through all the antiliberty landmines?

I disagree with VDH all the time. No big deal.

COVID Vaccine Propaganda Busted – High Deaths and Cancers

The main propaganda line is that vaccines and boosters are ‘safe and effective’ and prevent severe illness and death. These are lies, as shown by the data.

COVID propaganda lies set a record in the history of the human race.  It has killed millions of people.

The recent sharp increase in COVID deaths has caught my attention. I have been watching daily COVID statistics in The Washington Post. A few months ago, the 7-day average for deaths was about 300. In last Sunday’s paper, it was 500.

That is about a 70% increase!

And the purebloods are watching family and friends deteriorate with breaking hearts.

Leftists Crushed in School Boards Across Florida

While primary elections occurred in Florida, New York, and Oklahoma Tuesday, Florida has general elections for school boards, meaning the winners will be the official members of the boards.

Many of the winning candidates have been endorsed by the 1776 Project PAC, an organization that has been instrumental in flipping school boards from liberal to conservative across the country.

“We saw massive election victories all throughout the state of Florida tonight,” 1776 Project PAC founder Ryan Girdusky told Breitbart News Tuesday. “It shows the desire of parents and residents across the country for some normalcy in our education system, and that means pushing against transgender ideology, critical race theory, critical gender ideology, and equity which destroys merit in education.”

Precedent

“Precedent refers to a court decision that is considered as authority for deciding subsequent cases involving identical or similar facts, or similar legal issues. Precedent is incorporated into the doctrine of stare decisis and requires courts to apply the law in the same manner to cases with the same facts. Some judges have stated that precedent ensures that individuals in similar situations are treated alike instead of based on a particular judge’s personal views.

If the facts or issues of a case differ from those in a previous case, the previous case cannot be precedent. The Supreme Court in Cooper Industries, Inc. v. Aviall Services, Inc. reiterated that “[q]uestions which merely lurk on the record, neither brought to the attention of the court nor ruled upon, are not to be considered as . . . precedent.” Therefore, a prior decision serves as precedent only for issues, given the particular facts, that the court explicitly considered in reaching its decision.”

Investigation Into U.S. Election Software Company Uncovers Chinese Coders

Konnech Inc., a U.S. software company based out of East Lansing, Michigan, helps manage the poll workers, poll locations, campaigns, assets, mail-in ballots, and supplies necessary to run elections in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Although, the American technology company, which was founded in 2002, is used by the U.S. Department of Defense and ‘thousands of election offices across North America’, Konnech Inc., previously built a ‘communication platform’ called ChineseBrief.com for the Confucius Institute.

Furthermore, many of the company’s software engineers and employees graduated from Chinese universities such as Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Beijing Language and Culture University, China Agricultural University, and HuaZhong University of Science and Technology.

MATTHEW 24:42-51

42Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43But know this, that if the householder had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into. 44Therefore you also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect. 45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? 46Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing. 47Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 48But if that wicked servant says to himself, `My master is delayed,’ 49and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eats and drinks with the drunken, 50the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, 51and will punish him, and put him with the hypocrites; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.

Twitter Whistleblower Surfaces Presenting Challenge for U.S. Surveillance State, Enter CNN and The Washington Post

CNN is the national media firm protecting the interests of the U.S. State Dept.  The Washington Post is the national media firm protecting the interests of the U.S. intelligence apparatus.  The latest Twitter whistleblower information originates in,.. wait for it… “an explosive whistleblower disclosure obtained exclusively by CNN and The Washington Post.”

Elon Musk Subpoenas Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

The filing with Delaware’s Court of Chancery seeks documents, messages, emails, financial statements, online chat or instant messages, recordings, and other forms of communication from Dorsey, who stepped down as Twitter’s chief executive last year.

Dorsey is asked to produce documents and communications “reflecting, referring to, or relating to Twitter’s use of any other user metric other than mDAU (monetizable daily active users), including but not limited to, daily active users” and any other Twitter metric that monitors active users on the social media website, according to the court filing.

Dorsey has yet to issue a public comment on the subpoena.

More whistleblowers come forward against ‘out of control’ FBI

FBI field offices in Miami, Salt Lake City, Buffalo and Newark face accusations that their upper management coerced agents to sign false affidavits, inflated terrorism caseloads to improve their apparent performance, engaged in illicit sexual activities, or concealed those of others, according to the Washington Times.

“The FBI is completely out of control and its culture and structure needs to change. Not only is the political bias completely out of control and disgustingly obvious, the FBI knows they will not be held accountable for their illegal behavior and misconduct,” said one Whistleblower in a letter to Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Tx) of the House Judiciary Committee. This whistleblower alleged that FBI Director Christopher Wray ignored her allegations of sexual misconduct.

The same eight people have won the Maryland lottery 2,305 times (!!) in two years. Seriously.

Of course, we’re talking about the state-level games here, not national games like Powerball, but it’s definitely suspicious. Plus, there seems to be an art in Maryland of hiding one’s identity behind giant checks, probably to keep family and friends from finding out about the winners’ good fortune, but now it’s looking like it could be to keep lottery fanatics and the authorities from catching on to the repeat wins too.

Oh, hey, that’s fair. NOT!

George Soros, other billionaires flood Schumer’s PAC with millions to save Senate majority

Soros steered $2.5 million from his Democracy PAC to the Senate Majority PAC in July, while hedge fund billionaire James Simons added an identical amount, according to new Federal Election Commission filings. The duo was the largest donors to the committee last month, which is now entering the home stretch of the midterm elections with nearly $73 million cash on hand.

The new Soros cash also brings his total to the Senate Majority PAC to $10 million for the 2022 elections, making him one of its largest contributors behind a dark money nonprofit affiliated with the PAC.

Liz Cheney’s Agony

Liz Cheney, who sits on the Jan. 6th Committee, has made her political agenda clear from the beginning.  Although an “investigation” is supposed to be a search for the truth, Liz Cheney made agonizingly clear many times that she didn’t need to wait for the results of the investigation.  From the beginning her stated aim was “make sure that Trump never gets near the White House again.”  Permanent Washington also made their aim clear.  The Jan. 6th Committee “investigation” was for her, and many others, mere political theatre to achieve a predetermined political agenda.

Had Cheney been interested in the truth, she might have insisted that the committee seat the appropriate number and type of Republicans to cross-examine the prosecutorial witnesses.  She did not do so.  At every turn she interpreted any testimony in the worst way possible for Trump, e.g., she has recently stated that Trump, “commanded” a “heavily armed mob” to try to stop the counting of electoral votes.  She and her Jan. 6th Committee have, however, given no evidence whatsoever that Trump “commanded” an armed mob to use violence to stop the counting of electoral votes.  Her very strong statement requires that she prove both causality and intent.  However, the committee has only demonstrated a degree (even that not clear) of correlation between Trump’s remarks and the riot, namely, that Trump made some remarks and some people went to the Capitol and rioted.  The committee has not proved that Trump’s remarks caused the mob to riot at the Capitol or that Trump intended that his remarks cause the mob to riot at the Capitol.  Demonstrating causality or intent is never easy in social situations: “Since intent is a mental state. it is one of the most difficult things to prove.” It is certainly not easy given the very murky events surrounding Jan. 6th, events that the committee in their “Star Chamber” has conspired to keep murky.  For Liz Cheney, however, everything about Jan. 6th is as clear to her as her seething hatred of Donald Trump.

Never Forget that We are America

But Thomas Sowell, in The Vision of the Anointed, reckons that today’s society consists of the Anointed, the Benighted, and the Mascots. He’s right. Our liberal friends and their pals at the FBI are the Anointed. Trump voters are the Benighted, and all the scheduled classes of victims are the special Mascots of the ruling class, displayed in appropriate trophy cabinets in every Anointed home.

Authoritarian Democrats Heart the Deep State

Unlike Garland and Wray, Trump and his Republican allies were elected by the people. It is a peculiar democracy indeed in which agents of the state can break into the home of the opposition leader without controversy. But Democrats fancy themselves enlightened “antiracists,” which they imagine gives them exclusive rights of control over the state in Our Democracy™.

The righteousness of the Left is a thing to behold. Consider Michael Hayden, a former CIA director who endorsed executing Trump over innuendo about “nuclear weapons” and the Espionage Act. Hayden, as it happens, also believes that the Trump movement is a terrorist threat worse than al-Qaeda. Go figure.

Hayden is not alone. After January 6, 2021, former CIA head John Brennan, another career spy suffering from Trump-induced derangement, gave his own take on Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables”: the Trump movement is an “insurgency” and “unholy alliance” of “religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians,” he said.

What do you do with insurgencies? Why, you crush them, of course.

Weaponized Compassion & The Culture War

I subscribe to Fisted By Foucault, the Substack of the right-wing writer and controversialist Niccolo Soldo. Since the advent of monkeypox, Soldo has been revisiting, in a newsletter series, the advent of AIDS, and the culture of gay male promiscuity that produced it. Soldo liberally quotes from official public health sources and the memoirs of gay writers who were present in the 1970s when many gay men gave themselves over to extreme promiscuity and radical sexual practices. He focuses in part on people like gay physicians who were terrified by the fact that so many gay men’s bodies were becoming petri dishes, as well as on people like the gay activist Larry Kramer and the gay journalist Randy Shilts, who were early alarmists about the new “gay cancer,” and whose warnings were quite unpopular. In today’s issue, Soldo writes:

All animal species have a natural instinct for self-preservation thanks to evolution. Those that never developed this mechanism to a sufficient extinct died out a long, long time ago. It is a vital function that keeps us alive.

Despite humans creating civilizations that worked to diminish some of the rougher and more dangerous aspects of nature, this instinct remains strong in our constitutions for the simple fact that societies are fragile, and threats to our lives can appear immediately. How we choose to assess and then mitigate these threats depends not only on how our societies are organized and what resources we have access to, but also how we personally assess these threats. This will often come down to personality traits that are inherent or are developed over time due to environmental factors and/or personal experiences. Some types select social conformity, others will choose gun ownership, and so on. The examples are endless.

One type of personality known to us all is the ‘Alarmist’. This person will warn others in advance of a threat that they see coming, often exaggerating the actual threat for desired effect. We all know this type, as it has saturated our minds in the age of instantaneous communication and clickbait journalism. A problem with the Alarmist is that they can often be wrong, leading to a “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” reaction from the targeted audience. Excessive alarmism negatively impacts credibility. But for those of you who have been paying attention this past decade, these alarmists actually have a pretty good track record. This is why it pays to not completely discount the paranoid rantings of the ‘internet schizophrenic’.

Larry Kramer (whom we have met earlier in this series) was one of those alarmists. Something in his gut was telling him that the hyper-charged sexual activity of gay men in the 1970s posed an existential risk. He had no way of knowing that the HIV virus was already making its way through the gay community (and IV drug users as well), but he could sense the danger. His 1978 novel “Faggots” sounded the alarm, and Kramer became persona non grata on Fire Island because of it, as he was seen as spoiling the party.

Some people will react early, others will react too late. Some people will overreact, others will choose to put personal interests above those of the affected community as a whole. Others still will place politics as the primary lens through which to perceive the threat and react to it, pushing down actual public health concerns. Still others will deny that something is happening, with even more others seeing conspiracies unfolding before their eyes. All of the above took place with regards to those first years of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Anne Heche: Crazy? A Survivor Speaks Out

I understood the secrets and suffering that led her to create an alter ego. Only a survivor of childhood abuse can comprehend the need to find a way to survive the violent physical attack an innocent child suffers from familial abuse. Fantasy worlds and alter egos are common methods used by young victims to live through it. According to an interview in 2001 on ABC, “Heche stated that she created a fantasy world called the ‘Fourth Dimension’ to make herself feel safe and had an alter ego who was the daughter of God and half-sister of Jesus Christ named Celestia.” It was a form of self-protection to hide her shame and suffering.

Her battle was to survive and live beyond her childhood trauma and the haunting memories. Sadly, Heche could never escape them. Her tragedy was that she could not beat the devil. She could not obliterate the horror she suffered as a child. She could not overcome the mental scars of that brutality and did not achieve healing or freedom to live authentically as herself: Anne Heche.

Gentle reminder:

That one guy that wants to either join your group or start a group and then starts dropping all kinds very strong hints that it’s time to get the guns and start kidnapping/executing government officials?

That guy?

THAT GUY IS EITHER A FEDERAL INFORMANT OR AN UNDERCOVER FBI AGENT.

It would really be freaking nice if people would quit falling for this obvious shit.

Exclusive: Yelp to flag listings for crisis pregnancy centers

Yelp is adding a prominent consumer notice to crisis pregnancy center listings to more clearly distinguish them from clinics that provide abortion services, in a policy change shared first with Axios.

The big picture: Yelp’s move is the latest tech-company response to a post-Roe world in which abortion information has become a significant online battleground, with both sides of the debate applying intense pressure.

Driving the news: Starting today, Yelp will add a consumer notice to both faith-based and non-faith-based crisis pregnancy centers noting that they “provide limited medical services and may not have licensed medical professionals onsite.

It’s the latest in a series of moved Yelp has made since 2018, when CEO Jeremy Stoppelman directed the company to make sure crisis pregnancy centers were differentiated from abortion clinics in the company’s listings.

All because crisis pregnancy centers give women options and help to have and keep their children.

They attached themselves to the frame. The cherubim are perfectly safe.

Sure you can.

None of it was catalogued, either.

Spinach salad or bust, baby.

I didn’t think they had alligators in Pennsylvania.

Something is going on with this, that’s for sure.

Too bad, so sad.

Go get ’em, Mrs. Dorn.

Nine minutes? Not much at cruising altitude, that’s for sure.

22 more and he passes Babe Ruth for career home runs.

Have a good day y’all.

(I don’t remember who brought this to a daily in the comments, but thanks.)

And, of course, the obligatory George Carlin:

Per the Boss:

Just ’cause I’m in the mood.

Please remember to remain locked and loaded and ready for trouble should the insurrectionists try to invade your space.

Those who have things to say that do not fit the generally accepted limits of “civil” discussion, Wolf has provided a venue known as the UTree. You’re welcome to visit over there and say hi to anyone hanging out over there. The “Rescue Thread” is also over there. In the event a rendezvous of the tree is needed, please check it out, as well as the newest rescue venue.

Auntie DePat’s requests:

If you see something has not been posted, do us all a favor, and post it. Please, do not complain that it has not been done yet.

The scroll wheel on your mouse can be your friend. As mature adults, please use it here in the same manner you would in avoiding online porn.

Thank you so much for any and all attention to such details. It is GREATLY appreciated by more than one party here.

One other vital note:

Please, review these rules that our host Wolfm00n outlined toward the beginning of the growth of the tree itself. it won’t take long.

REVELATION 21:9-14

9Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues, and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10And in the Spirit he carried me away to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, 11having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed; 13on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. 14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
