On this day and every day –

God is in Control
. . . and His Grace is Sufficient, so . . .
Keep Looking Up

Hopefully, every Sunday, we can find something here that will build us up a little . . . give us a smile . . . and add some joy or peace, very much needed in all our lives.

“This day is holy to the Lord your God;
do not mourn nor weep.” . . .
“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet,
and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared;
for this day is holy to our Lord.
Do not sorrow,
for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

I Shall Not Want

In one of the most comforting Bible passages, King David declares, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). The word want in this case means “to have a need” or “to lack”; the psalmist’s confident assurance is that, with the Lord as his shepherd, he would never lack a thing. All his needs would be supplied.

David, who spent his boyhood tending his father’s flocks (1 Samuel 16:11, 19; 17:15), knew something about the heart of a shepherd. He compared his relationship with God to that of sheep and a shepherd. The tender imagery underlines God’s personal care, guidance, and protection. King David trusted wholly in the Lord, knowing he would not lack anything because God was with Him as his shepherd.

When sheep are left to fend for themselves, they are vulnerable and helpless animals, incapable of providing for their own needs. The shepherd leads the flock to fresh water and pasture for food. He cares for the sheep when they are injured or ill. Without a shepherd, the sheep scatter and become lost. Unless they stay near the shelter and protection of the shepherd, they have no hope of surviving attacks from wolves and other predators. But when sheep remain under the watchful eye of the shepherd, they can say, “I shall not want,” because he meets their every need.

As God’s sheep, we are precious to Him (Psalm 28:9; 77:20; 78:52; 79:13; 80:1; 95:7; 100:3). He takes full responsibility for our needs, safety, and protection, even risking His own life for us. Jesus, who is “the great Shepherd of the sheep” (Hebrews 13:20), assured His disciples repeatedly that He would care for them, leading, guiding, protecting, and laying down His life for them (John 10:1–16, 26–30). Through His redeeming death on the cross, Jesus Christ paid for our sins and purchased us as His sheep. Even if, in our suffering and pain, we wander away from the Lord, we have a Good Shepherd in Jesus who is “the Guardian of [our] souls” (1 Peter 2:25, NLT). When we understand this truth, we can put our whole trust in Him and say, “I shall not want” (Psalm 34:9–10). We discover that we now lack nothing necessary to experience abundant life in Him (2 Peter 1:3; Psalm 84:11).

Jesus told His followers, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:33, NLT). Our heaven-sent provision will flow from pursuing God’s kingdom first and staying in close fellowship with Him. Only then can we tap into His all-sufficient, unlimited supply of resources. We won’t have to worry about what to eat, drink, or wear because our loving Shepherd knows what we need (Matthew 6:31–32). He will never abandon us or leave us begging for bread (Psalm 37:25).

When we say, “I shall not want,” we also acknowledge our satisfaction with God and what He has given us (Hebrews 13:5; 2 Corinthians 9:8). It means we have learned the secret of contentment, like the apostle Paul, who said, “I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:11–13, NLT).

We may not always have everything we desire, but we can trust God to provide all we need. As He was with Israel in the wilderness, God will always be with us, blessing us in everything, watching our every step, and ensuring we lack nothing (Deuteronomy 2:7). With the Lord as our shepherd, we can confidently say, “I shall not want.”

I’m going to start investigating a different browser, LibreWolf. Open source; it’s basically a custom and independent Firefox. Quote: “…with the primary goals of privacy, security and user freedom. It aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and anti-freedom features of Firefox, while also including a few security improvements and privacy-conscious search providers.”

Apparently it exists for several flavors of Linux, Micro$haft Windoze, and Crapple.

NICE NAME!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

AMEN!!! 😉

pgroup2

We expect a full report since you are one of our Top Men. 😆

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

LOL!!!

Valerie Curren

That’s Exactly what came to my mind too!

Linda

I wonder how it does with resources. Firefox can be a real resource hog.

cthulhu

A lot of browsers are resource hogs.

Of course, it doesn’t help that I have over 800 open tabs in six windows…..

Cuppa Covfefe

And some of them are in a different room 😆

pgroup2

[loud snort]  😂

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

In his case some of the windows are under a couch cushion on that Raspberry Pi he lost two weeks ago.

Valerie Curren

 😂

cthulhu

Nah, you’re thinking of the one under the pizza box.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Oh. I stand corrected.

Though I have to ask for the record, is the pizza from the pizza box stuck to the ceiling?

cthulhu

What do you think we are, slobs?

Valerie Curren

Well I have Way more than 6 windows going 😉

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Sounds very interesting!

cthulhu

On the general subject of cybersecurity…..

We are constantly barraged by media reports of malware. A recent example is https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/03/never-before-seen-linux-malware-gets-installed-using-1-day-exploits/ .

Reading further into this article, we find, “Checkpoint discovered the Linux malware while researching recent attacks that exploit critical vulnerabilities in Ivanti Secure Connect, which have been under mass exploitation since early January. In the past, Magnet Goblin has installed the malware by exploiting one-day vulnerabilities in Magento, Qlink Sense, and possibly Apache ActiveMQ.” Since it is unlikely that any of us interact with Ivanti Secure Connect, Apache ActiveMQ, Magento, or Qlink Sense, this report may indicate a real problem, a serious problem, but not necessarily our problem.

When you turn things around and ask where problems might be that likely threaten us, you end up looking at programs that we use regularly, like web browsers and email. Indeed, the great majority of malware infections in the wild are served by browser exploits or phishing emails.

cthulhu

As a practical matter, then, web browsers and email clients are subject to continual assault — indeed, a sort of continual arms race in browser-land has been going on since proprietary solutions like CompuServe and AOL, as well as early general browsers like NetScape and Internet Explorer.

Websites are continually trying to winkle more and more information from your browser. I would recommend that everyone visit https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/ and see what sorts of information your browser is giving up just from visiting a random website.

When you visit two websites, and they both have a facebook button, facebook will not only know all of the information available from each website, but also anything connecting the two. If you visit “pickles” and “ice cream”, facebook will have noted it and placed a high probability on you being pregnant.

TheseTruths

Thank you for that info.

cthulhu

YVW.

cthulhu

The security issues that LibreWolf specifically mentions are listed here — https://librewolf.net/docs/features/ .

cthulhu

Because of the constant arms race in browser security, it is vital to keep your browser — of any flavor — up-to-date. Ubuntu has gone so far as to make Firefox a Flatpak…..a version containerized on your system that must be renewed about every two weeks.

If you’re running Ubuntu 22.04 or later, you won’t run Firefox as a regular application with access to your regular computer — you will run a special current version that is in a purposely stifled environment.

cthulhu

To summarize, then, you really have to analyze your security threats. There are those that arise from programs you don’t use. Then, there are those that arise from the natural operation of any browser. Further, there are those that arise from the operation of a particular browser in its processing of web pages. Finally, there are those that arise from a browser “phoning home” or otherwise monitoring your behavior.

Different threats call for different responses.

cthulhu

It should also be noted that many browsers share the same underpinnings. Substantially all are “pretty faces” on one of four engines: WebKit, Blink, Gecko, and Goanna — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_browser_engines

cthulhu

One of the more pernicious security threats in browsers involve the use of JavaScript. What this does is allow a website to propose that your browser (and thus, your computer) run a little program supplied by the website. This allows for more complex and media-intensive experiences.

It also allows random website developers to run programs on your computer. There’s even a thing called “cross-site scripting” where you view website A, and it requests that you run JavaScript provided by website B.

The entire concept raises the hairs on the back of my neck. I run a Firefox add-on called “NoScript” that quashes these — so a large number of websites I visit are partially or wholly broken…….but I am more relaxed about visiting them, so I take it as a good thing. When I want a certain feature, I can go into NoScript and allow it, one piece at a time.

On the other hand, there is precisely one browser that I believe understands how to run JavaScript competently. Its CEO is Brendan Eich, the guy who actually invented JavaScript [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Eich ]. He used to be the CTO of Mozilla, before they ejected him for being insufficiently woke about gay marriage, and actually was a move-and-shaker back in NetScape. That browser is Brave.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I can run NoScript but usually don’t bother.

I can close the browser and the virtual machine it’s running on is gone. Poof!!!

The one additional thing I do is to discipline myself to run different things on different VMs. I might let a link on a browser open on the same VM. And then again, I might not. (It’s less harmful to do the former if you haven’t provided any identity information. Then all the data parasites get is that some guy (who will never demonstrably be seen again) who visited site A was also interested in site B that was linked from site A.

cthulhu

….which is one reason I wondered why you’d be looking at new browsers….

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Presently I run a Firefox heavily customized according to Arkenfox. I keep reading that Librefox removes the necessity of continually updating the Arkenfox mods…but the sumbitch has up to now required you to do the wget-curl-cryptokey dance that some dipshit pushes, which even in Qubes requires you to expose your template to the internet.

So I head that LibreWolf is now part of the Debian 12 repositories and was all, “oh wow! Now I can try this without the rodeo!”

And so I posted here about it.

Today I decided to go off and actually try it, and guess what? It’s NOT in the debian-12 repositories. “sudo apt install librewolf’ simply leads to “unable to locate package librewolf”.

So, if that can’t be resolved, I’ll have to offer my apologies as I won’t be able to test LibreWolf out.

cthulhu

They run their own repos, which include .deb packages. You can do a ppa (which I’m not sure works in Qubes [nor maybe should]).

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

As far as I know, that method obliges you to do the wget/curl/crypto dance, which exposes the template directly to the internet.

I really get ticked off when I can’t just download the thing and install it.

cthulhu

Just to put this out there, “Currently, we estimate that your browser has a fingerprint that conveys 11.2 bits of identifying information.

Just sayin’.

Cuppa Covfefe

Have to wonder about that “.2″…..

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

It’s actually a base two logarithm, so it’s legit. Somewhere between 2048 and 4096 distinct values.

Cuppa Covfefe

Good enough for gubmint work 🙂 (or jazz)…

Valerie Curren

close only counts in horseshoes & hand grenades!

TheseTruths

Thank you so much for message of peace and hope, Carl.

TheseTruths

Actually, I’ve been seeing this for years.

“Why? America is headed for chaos.”

_______

If she really believes that’s true, then if she has enough money to ‘hold cash’ and ‘hold gold’, and do all that other stuff, she’d be a lot better off moving ’emergency plan’ to the top of the list.

And make the ’emergency plan’ to leave the country.

It’s a silly fantasy to think she (or anyone else) is going to fight off roving bands of marauders, or that her organic food suppliers or ‘small community of friends’ will be able to do so either.

People who have food or grow food will be targeted. If they’re lucky, only their food will be taken. If they’re not lucky, they’ll be killed and then their food will be taken. Either way, whatever crops and livestock and stored food they have will be taken.

Practically zero homes are fortified to withstand a mob assault. One Molotov cocktail and it’s game over. You either stay inside and burn alive, or go outside to be murdered (or worse).

People should stop playing games about this stuff. If she really believes America is headed for chaos, then the time to do something to stop that from happening is RIGHT NOW, or GTH outta Dodge.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

I don’t think the situation is that dire. We’re just headed (over the next few years, if Trump doesn’t get into the WH) toward Latin America levels of chaos and criminality. Obama and the Bidenoids want us to over-react. They need another J6 before or after the election. They need another stolen election – they need control of X again. Nope. Not gonna let ’em get any of these. Just sit tight and let the outrage build.

I think she has good advice, but she’s a bit too breathless about it.

Even in South Africa, most people are able to scare off and hold off the roving criminals most of the time. It’s a continuum – it’s not a binary.

Training with weapons is more important than adding guns, IMO.

TradeBait2

Local militias with law enforcement and patriot ex-military involvement. Patriotic, law supporting Sheriffs. Problems solved.

Aubergine

I am surrounded by all these things. Lucky me 🙂

singingsoul1

Aubergine

singingsoul1

We have good police force where I live. They even have police dogs.
I do not recommend roving groups of men here because most around here were in military and grew up in the hills and go hunting. I here there are also some training going on in the hills. People are very quiet when it comes to guns but I here the firing range very active from spring to late fall.

Aubergine

I agree with you, 100%.

What I do see happening is even more abandonment of American cities. People will flee to enclaves like Idaho, Tennessee, South Dakota, and Montana. Those are the “communities” where everybody knows everybody, strangers are noted, county sheriffs are the good guys, and people have guns.

If the shit starts up in places like that, there will be some chaos/death initially, but then the “marauders” will start to die.

Remember this?

“Men with semi-automatic weapons, handguns say they are here to protect city amid reports of militants heading this way

COEUR d’ALENE — Reports and rumors that groups bent on rioting and violence in Coeur d’Alene brought out men and women with guns on Monday determined to stop them if they arrive.

Dan Carson was patrolling Sherman Avenue with an AR-12 semi-automatic 12-gauge across his chest, an AR-15 strapped to his back, two 9mm handguns holstered and a .38 special, too.”

https://cdapress.com/news/2020/jun/02/armed-patriots-patrol-coeur-dalene-5/

TradeBait2

Yup.

BLM learned this lesson during the most recent summer of discontent, when a couple of busloads visited our area. They were met by local resident men and women with the full awareness of local law enforcement, who had sufficient notice the instigators of trouble were on the way. That they knew well in advance should tell people something important.

Upon arrival, said BLM participants were encircled at a safe distance, they observed themselves being observed, and they chose to reenter their buses rather quickly and head out to the next planned harassment site. Sadly (🤣), local news propagandists did not have sufficient time to set up their media shoots/fake events before they had already departed.

Just sayin’…

Theres is much more that is known and occurs, but that is enough to send this message to their handlers with FIB and the clowns.

Peter Navarro has appealed to SCOTUS

On Monday, we reported that ex-Trump advisor Peter Navarro had been ordered to report to federal prison March 19 for contempt of Congress and that U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta denied his request for a stay while the case was under appeal.

On Thursday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit also refused to step in, so on Friday, Navarro filed an emergency request with the United States Supreme Court asking them to keep him from being thrown behind bars.

The case is unprecedented, his lawyers argue:

“In an emergency request filed Friday, Navarro’s lawyers asked the court to keep him out of prison during the appeals process, arguing that he is not a flight risk or danger to public safety.

“’For the first time in our nation’s history, a senior presidential advisor has been convicted of contempt of congress after asserting executive privilege over a congressional subpoena,’ his lawyers said in the application. ‘Dr. Navarro has appealed and will raise a number of issues on appeal that he contends are likely to result in the reversal of his conviction, or a new trial.’”

Navarro was accused by the duplicitous January 6 Committee of plotting with another former Trump advisor, Steve Bannon, to block Congress from certifying the 2020 election results. He was subpoenaed by the committee but refused to appear and was convicted in 2023 of two counts of contempt of Congress — one for failing to produce documents and another for skipping his deposition.

The 74-year-old former trade advisor to Trump is due to report to a Bureau of Prisons facility in Miami by 2 p.m. on Tuesday. SCOTUS gave the Justice Department until Monday at 2 p.m. to respond to Navarro’s filing.

I hope and pray he will not have to go to prison.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

If SCOFFLAW SCOTUS doesn’t intervene, then they can’t be counted on EVER to stand up, IMO.

Happening in the city’s Richmond District, the safety measures come amid a recent jump in burglaries, robberies, and murders in the affluent neighborhood

• Headline-grabbing incidents have even longtime residents on edge – with some installing cameras and safety locks along with the farm equipment

• Several have attended meetings and made posts on social media about the rampant crime – poised to be a talking point in an upcoming supervisor race

I thought that leftists were the guardians of the environment and the lovers of Mother Earth. 🤔

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

LOL! And yet – AND YET – they warn about “carcinogens” for nearly every object sold in California. It’s literal insanity.

This goes back to the Soviet Union and Mao’s China. Both were horrifying environmental criminals, and yet they automatically excused themselves while denouncing the West. The very idea that the mass-polluting USSR imposed Earth Day on America on Lenin’s birthday – just a travesty.

Leftists believe that their “good intent” is automatically exonerating for any crime except “wrong think”. Such a rip-off of humanity.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

During my period of exile in CA, they passed that initiative that requires those “known to the state of California” labels on all sorts of things.

Hypocrisy – thy name is Corrupt Leftist liberal Communism.

Cuppa Covfefe

San Francisco has been dirty for a VERY long time… Tom Lehrer’s “Pollution” characterizes this:

(Introduction, spoken:)
Time was when an American about to go abroad would be warned
By his friends or the guidebooks not to drink the water.
But times have changed, and now a foreigner coming to
This country might be offered the following advice:

If you visit American city,
You will find it very pretty.
Just two things of which you must beware:
Don’t drink the water and don’t breathe the air!

Pollution, pollution!
They got smog and sewage and mud.
Turn on your tap
And get hot and cold running crud!

See the halibuts and the sturgeons
Being wiped out by detergeons.
Fish gotta swim and birds gotta fly,
But they don’t last long if they try.

Pollution, pollution!
You can use the latest toothpaste,
And then rinse your mouth
With industrial waste.

Just go out for a breath of air
And you’ll be ready for Medicare.
The city streets are really quite a thrill—
If the hoods don’t get you, the monoxide will.

Pollution, pollution!
Wear a gas mask and a veil.
Then you can breathe,
Long as you don’t inhale!

Lots of things there that you can drink,
But stay away from the kitchen sink!
The breakfast garbage that you throw into the Bay
They drink at lunch in San José.

So go to the city,
See the crazy people there.
Like lambs to the slaughter,
They’re drinking the water
And breathing (cough) the air!

He’s put his works into the public domain, so words and music (with a few exceptions) are available at https://tomlehrersongs.com

Here’s “Pollution”, modified for a non-SF audience (he usually localizes his songs, and SF is local to him, at least when he’s in Santa Cruz):

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

My parents would play his LPs (yeah, vinyl, remember that?) a lot when they hosted parties. So of course I know the vinyl version very well. He didn’t pronounce it “pol-yooshun” on vinyl and did have the San Jose wording.

Cuppa Covfefe

He did the music for the show “That Was The Week That Was” (TW³) back in the early 60s… that was a great show, but probably cut a little too close to home to go for much longer than it did…

I have “That Was The Year That Was” and “An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer”… Also have his CD/DVD “The Tom Lehrer Collection” which came about because of all of the YouTubes of Lehrer inspiring him to put together a collection himself…

I used to have a couple of Firesign Theatre Albums and a Bob Newhart one as well, but I’ve no clue where they’ve gone 🙁

Valerie Curren

I’ve been freezing veggie scraps for a while to cook up, often w/ saved pasta water, to make veggie broth, & then the scraps go in the backyard “compost” zone. One of my sons kept a bunch of rabbits back there about a decade ago & the ground is “fortified” 😇

NYC does it too. they also do it with garbage.

Does New York City still dump their garbage in the ocean?

December 14, 2021 by Bridget Gibson

It has been four years since Congress voted to ban the common practice of using the ocean as a municipal chamber pot, and with the Federal deadline set for tomorrow, New York is the only city that still does it.

Certainly not, but they live in denial of all sorts of reality, so why should this be any different?

If burglaries, robberies and murders are happening in wealthy Sodom by the Bay communities, the answer isn’t chicken wire.

People who can afford to live in rich parts of San Francisco can afford to live just about anywhere.

That’s the answer.

Move.

The idea that by living there automatically equates to being wealthy enough to move and live anywhere else is becoming a myth. If they own a home the fact that the area is becoming dangerous is going to deter buyers. There goes that fantasy. It’s not easy to quit a job if you can’t transfer or manage to find another job in a safer locality.
The window of opportunity is shutting.
The message is the same though..take the loss and get out..whatever that may look like.

Chicken wire??? GOOD GRIEF at least use Cattle Panels. You can not cut them with wire cutters or a Leatherman’s tool.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Most cattle panels I’ve seen are shorter than people, so easy to just climb over.

Gail Combs

Depends on the panel.

16′ Goat Panel 60″ :  4 Gauge Wire. 4″ x 4″ Openings.

If you do not have a center post they are so flexible they are very hard to climb over.

Then there is Non-Climb horse fence. This is square, mine is V shaped. but it is easier to cut that the cattle panel 4 gauge wire.

  • 2″x4″ mesh spacing prevents stepping through
  • Quality galvanized wire with durable zinc coating resists weathering as well as wear and tear
  • Easy to install on flat or hilly terrain
  • Strong mesh design minimizes potential for injury by flexing on impact
  • Height: 60″
  • Length: 100′
  • Filler Wire: 12 1/2 Gauge
  • Top/Bottom Wire: 10 Gauge

(Bonus…looks like two distinct attacks on New York. At least, I’m pretty sure the Empire State Building got blasted twice, just to be sure.)

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Exactly. Babylon and Sodom burning? OH, NOES!

Realistically, Russia (or China, or both, or whoever) just needs one bomb, to remove Washington. Then they go “That’s all, folks. Have a nice century! You can thank us later.”

The only reason they can’t do it, is they just can’t be sure there wouldn’t be a stupid response by Americans who didn’t suddenly realize they were better off.

The reality here is just psychological warfare. Russia and China are watching the neocons being rejected by the American right, but they know that the people of America are not in control of the monster. They have to agitate enough Americans into caring, that they hamstring the Blinkens and Nulands on the conventional warfare front. Overall, it seems to be working.

I really would hate to lose the Mall including the Smithsonian (the vast majority of the value of which is the collections the public does NOT see–only SOME of which are not in DC).

But as of right now, your renaming is sadly correct, and it’d be a net gain.

So hypothetically, assume that DC ends up under a mushroom cloud someday. What happens? Let’s assume we don’t retaliate and thereby lose everything else as well.

The rot has gotten into enough state governments, that when the FedGov is back in business, we’d still be dealing with the same shit.

pgroup2

So I take it you don’t believe in them being ‘scared straight’ like that old TV show used to do with wayward teens?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I’m not sure what you’re asking here. So I’ll guess, identify my guess and respond.

If you’re thinking I don’t believe corrupt state politicians can be scared straight, you’re right, I don’t think they can. It’s how they live. For many, feeding off graft is why they got into politics in the first place (have you ever heard the bit about how getting elected for one term as sheriff can set you up for life?). You can no more scare them straight than you can scare a parasitic wasp into not lying eggs in other insects’ bodies. Or scare a terminator straight.

Exactly what I meant – they’re too far gone.

Sadly, I agree.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

A lot of people like that literally don’t know any other way to live. They are parasites…and some of them may even be WASPs.

Gail Combs

Also they are often sociopaths or psychopaths.

A study conducted in the early 2000s found that 6.2% of the general population would meet the criteria for narcissistic personality disorder and 3.7% would meet the criteria for antisocial personality disorder. These conditions officially capture the maladaptive behavior we refer to as sociopathy.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/sociopathy

So you are talking ~10% of the population!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yeah. Perhaps a bit lower because I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of them have both. More than the 6.2% times 3.7% you’d expect from considering them independent probabilities.

It has been my observation that few people with a mental condition have just ONE disorder. Which makes me suspect that fundamental causes remain hidden, and these labels psychologists use are just for symptoms of something deeper that’s not yet understood.

Or to put it another way, I’d be greatly surprised if the number of people who have both is less than 1% of the general population. Which would at least reduce the total number of shitbags to 9 percent or less.

One of the clearest and most unmistakable signs from God that I’ve had in my life came to me on a Saturday morning, last January 13th.

We had had a major snowstorm the previous day and night that had been forecast to drop as much as 18″, with locally higher amounts possible. Most of it was a result of lake effect snow from gale force winds blowing from the east across Lake Huron. I live 18 miles from the shoreline.

When I looked out of my back door first thing in the morning, the storm was over. The wind had died out, but there was still a few snowflakes falling. Looking at the workbench nearby, I guessed that we had gotten 14 to 16 inches of accumulation. I saw that the old horse barn with the sagging roof at the back of my property was in need of the roof being cleared off before it started collapsing. It had about two feet piled on, including snow from a storm the previous week.

I had breakfast and went out about ten o’clock. To my surprise, the clouds had cleared out and the sky was a deep blue.

I got out the snow roof rake from the garage and started clearing the barn roof facing the house. Yup, the snow on it was about two feet deep. That took about ten minutes, then I moved around to the back side. I was facing north. The view from that side was stunning. Over the top of the roofline I could see the tall black walnut, which around 100 feet tall, and the clump of soft maples at the back of the garage was around 50 feet. Every branch on the trees were snow covered with 8-10 inches near the branches joined the trunks, and tapering off to about one inch out to the branch tips. “Delicate tracery”comes to mind. With all the wind we had, I was surprised to see any snow still sticking to them. The backdrop to the trees was the cloudless deep blue sky. Again, a stunning view.

I was about halfway through clearing the backside roof when off to my right I heard the whistling of wings, a soft ‘honk’ and saw movement coming from behind the tall spruce and pine trees around my house.

I had been looking up at the rooftop. I stopped raking the snow and lifted my head up higher. Three swans flying just above the tree tops, and in close formation, broke into view between the trees. They flew behind the walnut tree, but could still be clearly seen through the branches.

The thought came to me, “The Holy Trinity” (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), the swans being symbolic of them.

“Lift up your heads O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.” Psalm 24: 7

There was another soft ‘honk’ as the swans swept past and then broke into a blue sky opening to my left , and then disappeared from view as they flew behind snow-covered pines.

It all lasted about 5 to 8 seconds. May the memory of those brief seconds be with me always.

Everything worked to perfection. I was standing in the exact place I needed to be in. I was doing a task that had me looking up. Had the swans flown by 5-10 minutes earlier, I would have been on the other side of the barn and my back would have been towards them. Their flight at an angle from the northeast to the southwest, and across my line of sight, I could see no way to improve on. A heavy overcast returned about an hour later and stayed that way for the rest of the day.

I often picture the visual scene as I struggle with my troubles. The vision of the sign from God has become like an anchor for me. I wondered if that was appropriate,so I did a search in my bible concordance and found this:

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…” Hebrews 6: 19

This lyric line by Ray Boltz has taken on a new meaning for me: “The anchor holds in spite of the storm.”

I firmly believe that it was NOT “random chance” that I saw the son-in-law of my former next-door neighbor working in her yard yesterday afternoon and called to him that i needed to get to an ER. He came running over to my house, got me back inside and sitting on the sofa, called 911 right then and there, and then called his wife to get over here. Both stayed with me throughout the EMS arrival / exam, and then they took care of my dog until I got back home last night from the ER.
More proof of the existence and the mercy of the Almighty God.

The Bible tells us throughout that the Lord God speaks to us, teaches us, guides us through His Creation.

Romans 1 clearly outlines this precept.

pgroup2

And it seems vital that one know that particular voice. Christ said His sheep know His voice and will not follow another.

Well, the counter view is that that the Voice of Christ is drowned out by the background noise if one doesn’t already know it. After all, there are passages that instruct us to be still and know God.

Which to me means a quiet place is where the sound of His voice will be learned so that the noisy tumult of life does not overwhelm it.

Daily Mail March 17th

Billionaire Bill Ackman is a top donor rallying behind a 15-year-old Missouri girl who suffered severe brain damage when another teen smashed her head against the concrete during a high school fight.

The hedge fund investor, 57, contributed $10,000 towards a GoFundMe campaign in support of Kaylee Gain, DailyMail.com can reveal. His donation was confirmed by a partner at Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P.

The crowdfunding account, which is raising funds for medical bills and aims to support the teen’s family as Gain ‘fights hard to stay alive’, has received more than $213,000 in donations in just two days.

Organizers say her loved ones are extremely grateful for ‘overwhelming response’, which has ‘already brought the family to tears’.

Gain suffered a skull fracture and frontal lobe damage when her head was repeatedly smashed into the ground during a brawl last Friday. She was left alone on the ground to convulse before EMTs arrived.

She has ‘major brain bleeding and swelling’ and is in ‘critical condition’, her loved ones said. The family will not know the full extent of the damage until she wakes up.

Washington Post Columnist Calls on Kamala Harris to Step Aside ‘For the Country’s Sake’ Mike LaChance Mar. 16, 2024 10:45 pm 228 Comments

Vice President Harris should “step aside,” Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker wrote on Friday, as she called the vice president’s performance “disappointing,” and warned she’s become a “burden to the Democratic ticket.”

While she said she was pulling for Harris to succeed, Parker argued her performance “has been disappointing.”

“The Kamala conundrum comes down to this: She was picked because she was Black and female, a combo tantamount to job security. Now that she has become a burden to the Democratic ticket, Biden can’t fire her. He can’t risk alienating his base. Full stop. The seriousness of this situation can’t be overstated. Biden’s diminishing faculties, notwithstanding his relatively successful State of the Union address, and his increasing physical frailty are concerning,” Parker wrote.

“Whatever the reasons, it has seemed that Harris’s role was to be quiet, lest she embarrass her boss with her sometimes inane, rambling remarks and a laugh that erupts from nowhere about nothing obvious to others,” Parker wrote.

The left is not taking this well. (inside the story)

Apropos of nothing in particular…..I went to the machinists’ meeting today, and one of the guys mentioned that his CostCo air fryer got recalled. His instructions were to cut the cord and take a picture of the ID plate with the cut cord, and they’d send him a check for nearly what he paid for it.

One of the joys of interacting with this group is that they don’t see things the same way as the greater public — everything can serve as raw materials for building something else, even if it’s a hazard when used as an air fryer.

Improvise and repurpose. My dehumidifier weighs a ton and has a plastic carrying handle. Plastic ! Needless to say it broke right in the middle. I put a splint on it using a rolling pin and four zip ties, applied the first aid immediately but the break never healed up.

There is some plastic glue that contains powder that we used to mend a wheelchair shroud for our daughter. We used Q Bond available at Amazon (couldn’t load the link), but there are others.,

Gail Combs

We have about four from Harbor Freight. They are very useful!

cthulhu

One time, I was at Harbor Freight, and ran into a woman that totally schooled me about those dollies — she was buying, IIRC, six of the small ones.

I was thinking “what would she need six dollies for?” and made some comment…..whereupon she looked at me like I was stupid and said, “these wheel assemblies are good for a thousand pounds — if you look on the back wall, the wheels are $3.50 each, but I can get these dollies for $8 with the coupon.”

The Fiancee’s storage unit is full of five shelf Home Depot plastic racks mounted on custom four-wheel trucks made with Harbor Freight dolly wheels. She can roll everything out into the corridor, make her selection, then roll everything back in (she’s currently switching out polo shirts for sweaters).

Dengue Fever’s mentioned there…it is not contagious…I had it once in the Caribbean…awful…but you get it from a mosquito …you don’t “catch it” from someone else.

Gail Combs

The mosquito is a VECTOR. It bites another human, becomes infected and then bites YOU.

What is bad about it, is one person can infect LOTS of mosquitoes.

How Far Can Mosquitoes Travel?

Mosquitoes can travel up to several miles in a single night.

Depending on the species, they can fly between 1 and 10 miles per night, and can travel up to 25 miles in a single day.

Female mosquitoes are able to fly farther than males due to their larger size.

Mosquitoes can also be carried long distances by strong winds, allowing them to disperse over large areas.

Last edited 1 month ago by Gail Combs
smiley2

Dengue is carried by ONLY the Aedes species of mosquito.

that speciifc mosquito also carries other diseases.

it’s the areas where the Aedes mosquitoes live that put ppl at risk.

and, BTW, when a person has Dengue, he…she…isn’t going anywhere for at least a month.

you can’t move or even crawl…joint pain muscle pain debilitating fever, sweats, dehydration, delirium, extremely weak.

no way anyone with Dengue is trekking across any borders.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

What Gail said.

Though it is true that if you’re around someone who has it, you’re in no danger from them…as long as there are no mosquitos. But that’s a VERY important caveat.

smiley2

well…

I guarantee you…and Gail Combs…that when anyone has Dengue Fever, s/he isn’t going anywhere soon much less trekking across Darien Gaps, jungles and borders.

the fever will keep the person down for 2 weeks, can not move, can not even crawl, the muscle & joint pain is so severe, dehydration & weakness & delirium from the intense fever, cold sweats, totally debilitating, and then even after the fever breaks, the person is still very very weak.

took me almost a month to fully recover.

and…once you’re over it, it does not stay in yr system or recur later on.

if the mosquitoes carrying it are in the caravans, well, that’s a problem.

but it’s not like measles or syphilis or leprosy etc.

Dengue Fever is the least of what we have to worry about from these foreigners.

I don’t care what Gail Combs says.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

SHEPHERD OF MY HEART

The Shepherd keeps watch over His flock;
He daily checks hearts – then, He takes stock;
If one has been tempted and led astray;
He pursues and prods lest one slip away!

Carefully crafted by our God are we;
Inside our hearts – He can clearly see;
When we accept Jesus – as Lord of all;
We answer to Jesus – the Shepherd’s call!

Oh, Lord – let me never stray from the flock;
May you always find me when you take stock;
If some day – I should be tempted and stray;
Come after me, Lord – let me not slip away!

You know in my heart – Your Spirit resides;
Be sure in my heart – Your Spirit abides;
I lay at your feet – the trials of the day;
Shepherd of my Heart – be not far away!

Direct and perfect me in all I do;
Let my labor be blessed – pleasing to You;
Let all that I am and ever will be;
Give Honor and Glory only to Thee!

Whenever I’m stumbling along the way;
Reach out to me – set me upright – I pray;
Separated from You – I pray not to be;
Shepherd of My Heart – stay close to me!

Keeper of this heart of mine – be patient;
For I am but human – sometimes I’m salient;
Not paying attention – distracted am I;
With worldly concerns – in the blink of an eye!

Be the sunlight of my day – a ray of hope;
Help me, Oh Lord – to steadfastly cope;
Be the light of my night – a bright beacon;
The Shepherd of My Heart – my church deacon!

Wash and cleanse me – as I repent today;
Purify me – in Your Word and Your Way;
Let not my sin separate us for long;
Shepherd of my Heart – to You, I belong!

Strengthen me daily – that I may not stray;
Keep me securely in Your arms today;
I trust in You – above all – and I pray;
Shepherd of My Heart – guide my heart today!

Thank you for these. Prayers ongoing for you here and at Marica’s blog. Be well.

“Be Thou My Vision”, the famous Irish hymn, verse 1:
Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou, my best thought by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

A nice arrangement of the entire hymn by tenor Nathan Pacheco on You Tube:

(Bonus here for Yours Truly is that the pianist is playing a Chickering grand piano — my absolute favorite piano and the one favored by Johannes Brahms.)

You can pay them low wages under the table and they will not complain

kalbokalbs

Of course they have illegals working for him and everyone around him.

Do NOT Ask. Do NOT tell. Wink. Wink.

TheseTruths

The problem of illegals flooding the country manifests first as a burden on our border agents, then our resources, and then they spread across the country (thanks in part to Repuglican governors, to alleviate their own burdens and increase awareness). Then they start to use up resources allocated for citizens of each area. People begin to become aware of increased filth, disease, and crime, including murder. Then, I think, terrorist acts will be done. And leftists have not seemed able to predict any of this.

Carl Thank You for this encouraging word on the 23rd Psalm.

A couple weeks back my husband went on a solo car camping trip (as in he set up the campsite near where he parked) around the family hunting shacks in Michigan’s North Woods. He had a number of adventures over that extended weekend. A Big One was climbing a Huge Norway Pine (he needed a ladder to get into the “lower” branches & a saw to clear a pathway up) until he was about 60 feet above the forest floor. While he was up there he got a number of gorgeous sunset photos & a couple videos.

A very special video he took was taking a panoramic view of the surrounding woodlands silhouetted against a beautiful sunset sky while he recited the 23rd Psalm. That will probably be the favorite memory for him, & those of us he shared it with, from this special trip that he so needed while wrestling with the tail-end of the Winter doldrums. Psalm 23 is timeless perfection!

I just asked my son Josiah to see if he could send me one of Michael’s pictures to share here (hopefully it goes through). M is currently at a music practice for an upcoming prison ministry gig that’s in preparation (he’s never played at a prison yet). Please consider praying for him & this upcoming ministry for there seems to have been a significant uptick in attacks that he’s battling of late. Blessings!

Cancer Study Info description

The FLCCC Alliance—in partnership with renowned breast cancer physician and researcher Kathleen T. Ruddy, MD—has received IRB* (Institutional Review Board) approval.This means that now, enrollment can begin for our observational study — in collaboration with five U.S. clinics — to track patient responses to various adjunct cancer therapies using FDA-approved repurposed drugs and nutraceuticals.

Wow, that’s great! I hope they include Ivermectin and fenben and some of the other supplements we use. Do you have a link for that? I hadn’t heard of this study but would really like to read more. Thanks, Molly!

President Putin won the Presidency election. President Putin thanked the citizens who voted in the presidential elections and said that they are all on the same team. “The source of power in Russia is the people,” he said.

Putin also stated that attacks on the border areas of the Russian Federation are currently continuing, but the enemy’s losses are 100%

Putin scores 99.28% in Chechnya.
Putin takes 95+% of Donbass People’s Republic

<“It was clear. Dictator Putin wins fictitious elections in Russia”: The German Bild headline has passed its harsh verdict on the will of the Russians.

<Elena Panina, Director of the Institute for International Strategic Studies:
The West is preparing non-recognition of the results of the presidential elections in Russia by Western countries and its supranational structures. After that, the entire government in Russia will be declared “illegitimate” by them.

One of the consequences of this will be the curtailment of any negotiation platforms with the participation of Moscow: both in Ukraine and on global security issues.

  Another, also quite real consequence will be the appointment by the “legitimate Russian government” of a group of escaped national traitors: the “government of the Russian Federation in exile” created from them will have, in particular, to give the go-ahead for the looting of frozen Russian assets.

By not recognizing Putin’s victory and taking the final course for Russia’s surrender, the West will burn the last bridges with its own hands, leaving the only way for the conflict to develop — towards a big war.

For the West, this is already an all-in game — an exorbitant bet is about to be made by them.
For Russia, this means one thing — a war in full force until Russia’s complete Victory.

<The Transnistria Government Bureau reports that a military unit in Transnistria was attacked by a kamikaze drone. An explosion and a fire occured. No other information at this time.

And the poisonous BBC radio news opened with…
Putin has won the election, his opponents were either dead, in prison or banned from taking part.
I’m not sure who gets the most of the nasty snide treatment from them, Putin or PDJT.

“The National Council for the Defense of the Fatherland of Niger announced the denunciation of the military cooperation agreement with the United States .

The agreement, concluded in 2012, allowed the presence of American military and civilian personnel of the Ministry of Defense in the country. Niger is home to Air Base 201 Agadez, home to MQ-9 Reaper UAVs and C-17 military transport aircraft, and the base is the main intelligence and monitoring center for the United States in the Sahel. Also in the country in recent years, special forces units have been stationed on a permanent basis to conduct anti-terrorism operations and train the Nigerian military.

Colonel Abdurahman Amadou, who made the statement, claims that when making the decision, the government noted the illegal activities of American Air Force aircraft in the country’s airspace.
Last December, Niger denounced a similar agreement with the EU.”

From OT:

President Trump Warns of a Looming Bloodbath in the Auto Industry Related to Chinese EV Plants in Mexico – Media Go Bananas
March 17, 2024

SD: “Having previously written about the issue of three major Chinese EV makers putting massive investment into production facilities, the remarks by President Trump in Ohio warning of a “bloodbath” in the auto industry are exactly accurate.”

_______________

It’s unimaginable (to me) that any American would buy a chineeze car of any kind.

Imagine buying a car made by the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War. That’s what buying a chineeze car today would be like.

That this is not understood by everyone seems to be a total failure on the part of the education system, and a failure of American culture in general, to teach rejection of a foreign ‘other’, when the foreign ‘other’ in question is also a hostile adversary.

Even the mental illness of ‘DEI’ doesn’t include what they perceive to be hostile adversaries.

If it did, then the ‘inclusion’ part of DEI would include white men.

It doesn’t.

The whole reason for the existence of DEI is to exclude white men, specifically. DEI has no other reason to exist besides ostracizing, marginalizing and discriminating against white men.

So the same people who aggressively exclude white American men from participation in life, thinking it to be a noble virtue, would gladly buy an EV made by a hostile foreign adversary.

Nice country you have there.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yup. Progzis are damn near suicidal. Even the AWFULs, with all their money, are incredibly self-destructive.

The entire Chinazi takeover depends on these people expressing their self-worth by hating America.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

There’s a difference though between today’s attitude towards Chinese products, and yesterday’s attitude towards Soviet products.

Yesterday there were almost no Soviet products of any kind in the marketplace, and the stereotype of them is that they were extremely shoddy.

Today there are plenty of Chinese products in our marketplace, and although many are regarded as somewhat shoddy (but not as bad as the Soviet products’ stereotypes), a lot of electronics from China is present and it’s not considered bad. Yes, there’s cheap stuff like Harbor Freight’s stuff from China (some HF stuff is not Chinese), but people also expect less of it, and expect they’ll get what they pay for and are willing to do that in order to pay less.

So I can well imagine people buying Chinese cars in the expectation of getting extremely basic transportation, much like people expected very basic transportation from the Yugo. In the case of the Yugo it was entirely too basic, but it took a couple of years for people to figure that out. If the Chinese stuff is better than a Yugo, and I suspect it would be, we might be seeing a new generation of riceburners on the road, and not for just a couple of years.

Unless we refuse to import the things in the first place.

scott467

“Today there are plenty of Chinese products in our marketplace, and although many are regarded as somewhat shoddy (but not as bad as the Soviet products’ stereotypes), a lot of electronics from China is present and it’s not considered bad.”

_____________

Not because there is demand for chinee products, but because U.S. retailers have given chinee manufacturers an effective monopoly, i.e., in the majority (maybe large majority) of cases, it’s difficult to buy a product that is NOT made in chyna.

And even if you are trying to avoid chinee products, it’s usually difficult or impossible to find out where a product is made. I have spent lots of time searching through the comments sections for the search terms ‘China’ or ‘USA’ or ‘U.S.A.’ or ‘America’ on websites like Amazon, Home Depot, etc., because the sellers usually try to hide the origin.

And in Amazon’s case, American made products (when you can find any) are usually buried in the product search results anyway.

I’m not the only one searching for American made products either, there are lots of posts in the comments sections by people who are disgusted at how hard it is to buy American, and disgusted at how online retailers try to hide the country of origin whenever it’s chyna.

.

“Yes, there’s cheap stuff like Harbor Freight’s stuff from China (some HF stuff is not Chinese), but people also expect less of it, and expect they’ll get what they pay for and are willing to do that in order to pay less.”

______________

I have never understood that type of thinking. I would rather have half as much stuff that was of good quality, than have twice as much stuff that’s all junk.

.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

“I have never understood that type of thinking. I would rather have half as much stuff that was of good quality, than have twice as much stuff that’s all junk.”

Sometimes when it’s something I don’t expect to get much use out of, but I do need it once or twice, I’ll be happy with something that will do the job but breaks quickly; I’ve gotten full use out of it. On the other hand, even under those circumstances I’ll want to avoid something that will do the job poorly. So the question becomes, *in which of those two ways* is the product shoddy (and yes it can be both ways)?

As for the rest you do raise an interesting point I hadn’t considered: the Made In Red China Stealth Mode. How much would China sell here if people had not just a choice, but an informed choice? I’m sure no one would seek out Made In Red China deliberately, but how much would people tolerate it?

scott467

“So I can well imagine people buying Chinese cars in the expectation of getting extremely basic transportation, much like people expected very basic transportation from the Yugo. In the case of the Yugo it was entirely too basic, but it took a couple of years for people to figure that out.”

_____________

I just can’t imagine either one. No matter how cheap a chinee car is, it’s still going to be a ‘big ticket’ item, and the second largest purchase most people ever make, after a home.

To spend so much (even $10k, and it would be more than that) on a chinee piece of trash seems insane.

First, you have the stigma of driving a chinee communist piece of trash, and the additional humiliation for paying good fiat currency for it.

Second, there is a serious communication barrier between English and chinee. If anyone thinks American customer service is horrendous (and it is), just imagine how much fun it will be to play E.T., phoning home to chyna, to try to get warranty repair service… or parts… 🤣

Third, once you have realized what a big mistake it was to buy a piece of chinee EV trash, imagine what the resale value will be for a used piece of chinee EV trash.

.

“If the Chinese stuff is better than a Yugo, and I suspect it would be, we might be seeing a new generation of riceburners on the road, and not for just a couple of years.
Unless we refuse to import the things in the first place.”

______________

This again would be a failure of American culture to properly ridicule anyone who buys enemy product.

Like someone wearing Marxi’s brand chinee communist blue jeans. Can you even imagine the amount of hell and ass beatings we would have taken, wearing something like that in grade school or high school? 😂

I know I’m not the only person who knows how to use ridicule and peer pressure as a means of social control… because I grew up in America. You know, baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and peer pressure!

So I know what is possible, if we just set our minds to it.

I’m not the only American who grew up watching Dirty Harry movies, either.

MDHGA 😁

Social pressure can be applied, and if applied would be effective. We’re no worse at that than we were back then.

But in case you hadn’t noticed, the social pressure gets applied to different things now than it was back then.

scott467

“But in case you hadn’t noticed, the social pressure gets applied to different things now than it was back then.”

____________

I do notice. The fags and trannys and pedos are allowed to assume the dominant cultural position, and far too many regular Americans assume the fetal position.

I just don’t know why.

Except none of this &^%$ was happening before Helen Reddy roared.

More from SD’s ‘Bloodbath’ article:

SD: “According to media, last December the three Chinese auto manufacturers, MG, BYD, and Chery, announced they were going to spend billions building new EV manufacturing plants in Mexico.”

____________

This would explain why Elon is building the next Tesla factory in Mexico. He was aware that the chinee were planning to build factories in Mexico, so it makes sense for him to do the same.

He already competes with the chinee auto companies in chyna, so he can compete with them anywhere, so long as there is a level playing field, i.e., so long as he can manufacture in the same country or countries as the chinee do.

.

SD: “Each Chinese auto manufacturer was going to spend between $1.5 to $2.0 billion. The Chinese don’t make that much of an investment in something unless they are sure the U.S. government is going to force the EV market to exist.”

_____________

$2 billion is nothing to the second largest economy in the world.

They can’t be sure the U.S. gov’t is going to force the EV market to exist unless they control the U.S. gov’t.

They won’t control the U.S. gov’t when DJT is elected.

.

“These manufacturing plants would crush the U.S EV market.”

____________

Not so fast.

They might crush the legacy auto maker EV market, but the legacy auto makers have already given up on EVs anyway. They couldn’t do it, not at anywhere near making a profit.

The reason why all of Elon’s (legacy auto maker) competitors in the U.S. market were eager to accept Elon’s offer to let them make their EVs compatible with Tesla charging stations was because:

A) Tesla’s competitors can’t keep their own charging stations functioning properly (and don’t have nearly enough of them), while Tesla charging stations have something like 95% (or higher) up-time

B) building out a charging station infrastructure across a country as big as the United States is going to cost a LOT more than the $2 billion the chinee plan to spend on factories in Mexico. A LOT more. And probably take at least 5 years.

Elon has already perfected the technology, already has them strategically located throughout the U.S., and is adding more all the time

So all Elon has to do is refuse to let chinee competitors use Tesla charging stations.

“chinee car no good, if no have any charging stations” — ancient chinee proverb
