Biblically, sometimes people who were not Jewish were “adopted in” (see Ruth, Caleb, and the Gibeonites). They were then as Jewish as anyone else. You or I could convert today and make aliyah (it’s a process, but can be done).
So it matters not whether the Jews of Israel are the literal descendants of the tribe of Judah. They are Israel. The land they are on was given to them by God Himself. They have returned to it.

In my first year at college, there was a girl on an adjacent dorm hall who was amazingly zaftig. She had pleasant curves in all sorts of places, but there was no sparkle in her eyes. Stealing booze from the parents’ liquor cabinet, chasing girls, jumping streams on BMX bikes, smoking cigarettes (and clove cigarettes, I forgot about those), playing video games at actual video arcades, playing football, listening to 60s and 70s classic rock music because MTV turned new music gay, jumping over stuff on mopeds (cracked my gas tank!), riding skateboards, running track, getting sent to the office in school (again) for being a smartass in class (again), reading MAD Magazine (and Cracked), watching Saturday Night Live (and SCTV, and Friday’s), playing early home computer video games (Castle Wolfenstein) all night at friends’ houses.
All these things can happen at or around age 12.
But definitely not creating art out of plastic pony dolls, or writing remixes of songs about little pony dolls, or writing fan fiction dedicated to little pony dolls.

When I was 12, I was in 7th grade. I was reading copious amounts of S-F, and managed to meet Harlan Ellison at a book signing. I was all over Davis on my 10-speed Schwinn. I don’t know what the author of that piece was attracted to, but it was a social phenomenon that drew kids in. My understanding from the video is that it was not a feminized craze.
The things you mention are normal. The attraction to “little pony dolls” and the like had a cultural component for that time. Not good, not “normal” historically, but about much more than “little pony dolls.”

I’m so struck by the murder of Rob Reiner. I think I read he got his son into rehab 17 times. And I read that the son had been homeless multiple times, which, when you have a wealthy family, is pretty tough love. That sounds like dad was trying, at least.
Some children can not be salvaged. So sad.
I’ve come across not-a-few homeless who purposefully, and for cause, dispossessed their families, rather than the other way around.
The drug problem is usually a *symptom* of familial problems, and rehab doesn’t address the incredibly dysfunctional relationships that are the *cause* of the child’s mental malaise.
Parents have incredible power over their children, as I’m sure most everyone knows. 17 stints of rehab must have been tortuous to endure, and re-inforces that “the problem is YOU, kid – not ME!”
And try this one for size: “I (parent) can’t be the problem – I hardly talk to him/her (child)!”
Throwing money / doctors / edicts at the child doesn’t work, when the parent(s) are ignorant of themselves!
One must be very careful when pointing the finger …

I had one extremely difficult child, with some mental health and drug issues when she was young. I was actually afraid of her for a while. We all were.
I committed her to a mental health facility three separate times. That was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
When she got involved (again) with the legal system at 17, she was facing prison. I managed to convince the court (again) that she had mental health problems, and get her into another program.
When she was 19, she got pregnant. Against all the odds, that baby changed her substantially. Don’t get me wrong, 18 years later she still has struggles mentally, which she will not acknowledge, and all of us suffer from. But she’s stable enough that I’m not afraid she’ll kill me in my sleep, like I was when she was 16.
I will never judge a parent whose kid is so extreme, either mentally or from addiction, that they have to make those choices. Rob Reiner has two other children; they appear to be “normal.” So was it his parenting that made Nick a crazy addict, or something else?

I would say the opposite, that Nick either wouldn’t contact them, and/or wouldn’t want ANYTHING from them, money included.

In the Dilbert book “The Joy Of Work”, there is a chapter of hilarious office pranks, some of them uproariously so.
One of them described a Senior VP who would leave his laptop logged on all night, no lock screen, and no other protection, along with his office door being open(!).
The episode is titled “Add a Meg to your PC”…
The poor IT (BOFH? PFY?) guys that had to deal with this came up with a “cure” for this lax attitude toward security. Late one evening, when said VP had left, and the IT’lers were still working, one of them changed EVERY single Windows notification/sound/etc. to Meg’s, erm, outburst of joy from “When Harry Met Sally”, at full volume.
The next morning, the VP went to his laptop only to be confronted by an EXTREMELY excited Meg. So excited, that no matter what the hapless VP did or adjusted, another outburst of pleasure resulted.
Even with his office door closed and locked (which he did as soon as he “met” Meg), the sounds were audible far away 😆 Of course there was an audience to cheer her along, as the BOFH had discreetly notified folks that an interesting event was to take place.
The VP never let his lappie alone/logged on after that point (natch) and kept his office locked.
Lesson learned…
(It’s well worth reading the whole book; it’s hilarious, and much better conveyed than my humble recollection allows 🙂 )…..

An exhortation to praise God. (1-7) A warning not to tempt Him. (7-11)
1-7 Whenever we come into God’s presence, we must come with thanksgiving. The Lord is to be praised; we do not want matter, it were well if we did not want a heart. How great is that God, whose the whole earth is, and the fulness thereof; who directs and disposes of all!, The Lord Jesus, whom we are here taught to praise, is a great God; the mighty God is one of his titles, and God over all, blessed for evermore. To him all power is given, both in heaven and earth. He is our God, and we should praise him. He is our Saviour, and the Author of our blessedness. Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

Did anyone see this before? From 2023 when Mike Benz discovered Rob Reiner was a CIA asset, and Scott Adams talked about it on his show? Scott said the Reiner TDS now made sense, it was CIA speak. He was a tool.

Just having some fun today with contrails versus chemtrails and their disappearing acts as soon as the law passes. It is an amazing thing. The defenders say they are contrails – natural water vapor disbursement from the engine exhausts that are harmless and dissipate quickly. Chemtrails are for conspiracy theorists.
We live within 15 miles of a large, active airport that includes air national guard facilities. Been here 40 years. Know the fight paths, patterns, volume, timing, etc. Flew in and out of that same airport for 15 years in my job.
The day the law passed in TN for no more chemtrails and such – basically both of them went away. In nearly 1.5 years I have seen two real contrails that dissipated in about 15 minutes in the air at the same time one day along a normal flight path. There have been zero long lasting chem trails. That’s it in the entire time and I have been watching for them almost daily.
So I asked a few AI’s this question. If multiple contrails were what was in the skies for years every day, what changed about jet engines that they no longer produce them since the law that banned them was passed over a year ago?
The responses? Gibberish non answers that avoided the question. 😂
It is an amazing thing. Jet flies over one day and there is a trail that lasted for hours. Law passes. The next day the jet flies over and there is nothing. Same weather conditions and humidity.

James Woods: I’ve lived through some terribly turbulent times in our nation and in the world. Vietnam almost tore this country apart. Watergate was a severe wound. The Manson murders shredded the fabric of our culture. 9/11 was shocking. The COVID pandemic and ensuing political madness were bitter and disgraceful.
I now feel, however, that the disturbing malaise poisoning our current world is in many ways worse than all of these other events. It is literally as if the world has spun off its axis, never to find balance again. I’ve never been more concerned about the future of the human race. And the worst part of all of it, is that it’s predictable, and therefore preventable. Everything that’s wrong is staring us right in the face, and half this country simply will not join us in fighting and fixing it. It’s infuriating and depressing and maddening.

IMO we have the American Revolution, and the social forces and history of that conflict, to guide us. That is why TradeBait’s posts on the signers are so important. We need to understand those times, because I believe we will undergo a very similar ordeal.
