Revolution of ideas
Lawrence Reed’s new book, “Born of Ideas: How Principles, Faith, and Courage Forged America,” is out September 1, and every American thinker will appreciate it.

At a time when universities are shuttering their presses, Grove City College has launched Faith & Freedom Press through publisher Whitaker House. Their inaugural book, “Born of Ideas,” written by distinguished author, academic and historian Lawrence W. Reed, frames how our nation’s founding was “born of ideas” through the lens of faith, personal responsibility and divine purpose.
Rather than reiterating the more conventional Revolutionary yarns, Reed commences his dissertation not in 1776 but with the Mayflower Compact in 1620. Reed is a learned student of the genre and devotes nearly a quarter of his tome explaining why the Mayflower Compact is not merely a political agreement but was rooted in the Pilgrims’ religious conviction that they were acting under God’s providence.
Reed, the author of more than a dozen books that blend liberty, economic history and political philosophy, underscores how America emerged first not from battlefields or politics, but from covenantalism that shaped much of freedom’s prevailing rise.
Divine Providence is a partner to the covenant. It is with the whole of the people not just between leaders covering the whole of life and the consent of the governed mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Historically, it dates back to the book of Exodus that many scholars argue influenced the development of self-government and the later American doctrine of the consent of the governed.
Reed acknowledges America’s founding was first “a revolution of ideas” while still emphasizing the extraordinary nature of the American Revolution. As he writes in the Introduction, “Ours was first a revolution of ideas that produced a revolution in governance accomplished by heroes and ordinary Americans.”
The brevity of the 32 chapters does not diminish its clarity. Rather, it sharpens Reed’s argument and keeps the narrative moving into a fast read of 143 pages that can be accomplished in one sitting that delivers a fresh look at what makes the American experiment exceptional.
It is this mosaic approach that is the book’s defining strength. The chapters are historical vignettes that are crisp, thematic and tightly focused that absorb the founding era and its moral, philosophical and economic foundations. These engaging essays Reed says, “tells a particular story about a key figure or an aspect of the Revolution.”
Reed introduces readers to both the known and unsung heroes whose convictions shaped a nation. Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry and Thomas Paine appear, but Reed also devotes space to lesser-known contributors: Pelatiah Webster, “America’s First Economist”; Mercy Otis Warren, “The Conscience of a Great Cause” and Joseph Warren the fallen hero of Bunker Hill that made the American experience unique and yet remain essential today.
Whether discussing paper money, Native American alliances, Lafayette’s contributions, or the Roman influence on American republicanism, Reed returns repeatedly to the same core ideas: liberty, moral courage, personal responsibility and the belief that ideas, not accidents, forged the nation.

One of the Trump administration’s unheralded recent accomplishments is the speed, efficiency, and volume of its current deportation efforts.

One of Trump’s biggest campaign promises was that he would close our borders to illegal immigration and remove those illegal aliens already here. He has indeed almost completely closed America’s southern border, but the Democrats then managed to turn deportation into a cause célèbre that seemed to derail that effort. It didn’t occur to them that Trump would find another way to accomplish the goal, or that Democrat politicians in blue states would help him.
Early this year, the headwinds seemed to be blowing in the Democrats’ direction. When Rebecca Good was killed while aiming a car at an ICE agent and a (legally) armed Alex Pretti was killed while violently resisting ICE agents, they seemed like the perfect poster children for the Democrats’ anti-ICE and anti-deportation push. Democrats thought it helped that there were other incidents in which illegal aliens confronting ICE also managed to get killed.
But somehow, despite the Democrat base’s hysteria, the American public didn’t rally to the cause. Those illegal immigrants who were killed turned out to have been engaged in violent actions against ICE agents or had heinous personal records. There were no George Floyd-style marches and riots. Without COVID lockdowns to make people desperate for any reason to get out of the house, and with most Americans happy to see the last of violent illegal aliens in their communities, this was not going to be a winning cause.
Trump then wisely removed the grandstanding Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security, replacing her with the ostensibly low-key but incredibly effective Tom Homan. With that, the air really went out of the Democrat anti-ICE balloon.
Sure, the Democrats are still agitating over ICE. It’s their cause, and the Democratic Socialists’ cause. Indeed, the DNC, reflecting the DSA’s power within the party, just approved competing resolutions about ICE. One demands that ICE reform, while the other wants to abolish it entirely.
However, while Democrats at the national level are fighting over the finer details of leaving tens of millions of illegal aliens in America, Benny Johnson reports that ICE is going about its work with Homan-esque low-key efficiency:

And here’s where it gets insane…
DHS tells me blue states are quietly and very secretly working with the Trump administration to assist in the mass deportation of criminals. The criminal alien issue has become so “politically toxic” and “costly” that Democrat Governors have given the green light to Sheriffs and Police Chiefs in major blue cities to drop their illegals off with undercover ICE for removal.
It’s happening. You just don’t see it.
We can track if these numbers hold, but as for now this is a historic white pill and exactly what MAGA voted for.
This is great news. We are a country of people whose forebears immigrated here legally and promised when they arrived never to become a charge on the American people (a promise my hard-working parents kept).
It is absolutely unsustainable for a nation to be flooded with people whose first act is to violate the law, who immediately suck on the government teat (whether federal, state, or local), who are often criminally inclined, and who do not share our values and cannot or will not assimilate. If you want to see how that story ends, just look at Europe and the UK, which may be majority Muslim in the next 10 or 15 years.
There’s one more thing I like about the tweet, and that’s the bit about the blue state politicians assisting ICE. They’re cowards for refusing to do this openly, and they’re hypocrites for aiding deportations but not speaking out against their party’s stance on illegal aliens in America. And of course, we know that, once the illegal aliens are gone, leading to an inevitable decrease in crime rates and a drop in housing costs, they’ll claim that it was their leftist policies that made the difference.
For that reason, I sincerely hope that, once ICE drains a blue city or state of its illegal aliens, Tom Homan turns around and thanks those Democrat politicians for all their help with getting the job done.

Trump quietly reopens Hormuz

As I wrote at the time, Pres. Trump made a good deal in June, got the oil flowing, and left the Iranians with no leverage and few benefits. So the IRGC reneged on it in a few weeks and started shooting.
Now we learn the U.S. Navy has set up a stealth convoy system for Hormuz that is taking 9-15 million barrels a day out of the Gulf, according to Energy Sec. Chris Wright. When you combine that with the 7-8 million barrels from the Hormuz bypass pipes, we are getting back to the pre-war normal of 20 million barrels from the Gulf.
Wright was bitterly mocked by the MSM when he announced this last week, but further mainstream reporting is now conceding this is basically true. While all the national and international media obsessed about the hopeless position the United States had reached, the stalemate was carefully being reversed.
It seems our military specifically targeted Iran’s anti-ship capacity, including coastal radars and look-out boats, over the last two months. It is very much harder to hit fast-moving tankers with a missile than a fixed land target. Especially if it is being protected by Navy jammers and interceptors.
The ball is in the Iranian court. We can now move a lot of oil without them being able to do much about it. Complicating things further, while the IRGC is firmly in control of the country, apparently each commander has near autonomy for his own forces. That leaves decision-making slow, and the guys in charge of the dwindling missile forces may not be in agreement with Tehran on what to do next.
While they figure it out, we might see a big drop in oil prices. This may lead to a situation like 1988, when the Iranians threw in the towel after President Reagan destroyed their navy and ended Iran’s first attempt to block the Gulf.
On the other hand, if the IRGC wants to keep playing a losing hand, they can strike the oil fields and desalination plants of their neighbors and try to take everyone down with them.
So far, they talk like that, but I wonder if that is more for show. All-out war would, in the end, leave Pres.. Trump and the Arab states no choice but some kind of Allied ground invasion to end the regime; much like Pres. Trump did in 2017 with ISIS in Iraq and Syria. I suspect the Iranian regime knows whose side most ordinary Iranians will be on if it comes to that.

New tire regulations will add hundreds of dollars to tire costs and drive 70 percent of tire manufacturers out of the market.
So what happens under solid blue rule when the budget gets blown out, the taxes hit the limit, the billionaires flee, and the government appetite for spending just gets bigger?
In California, they start to eye the things that make California California: Cars, freedom, houses, prosperity. It’s not just necessity, of course. They also long to make it Not California.
We’re seeing these kinds of new developments, and none of them are good.
According to the Santa Monica Observer:
Sacramento just dropped another regulatory bomb on everyday Californians.
The California Energy Commission unanimously approved the nation’s first replacement tire efficiency standards on Monday, setting strict limits on rolling resistance for tires sold in the state. Phase 1 kicks in for tires manufactured starting in 2029. The tougher Phase 2 hits in 2033.
Tire industry representatives say the 2033 standards would eliminate roughly 70% of the replacement tires currently on the market from being sold in California. Goodyear and America’s Tire have warned that applying the Phase 2 limits to today’s inventory would knock out the majority of available options.
The rules require lower rolling resistance (less energy lost as heat when the tire rolls) and a minimum wet-grip standard so replacement tires match the efficiency of the ones that come on new cars. Specialty tires – deep-tread off-road, certain winter/all-weather, competition, and some others – get carve-outs.
The Energy Commission insists the changes will save drivers nearly $1 billion a year in fuel and electricity costs statewide and cut 2 million metric tons of CO2 annually. It pegs the extra cost to consumers at just $1.50 per tire in Phase 1 and $6.50 in Phase 2, with fuel savings quickly offsetting that.
State officials claim it will add just $6.50 to the cost of a tire, a veritable nothingburger, not explaining why they needed to use an obscure 2003 law to justify it, or why they need to do it in phases. After all, why not do it all at once and reap the tax benefits if it’s just the little piddly thing they claim it is? We all know this story.
Here’s the lie sheet from the California Energy Commission, no guaranteed refunds offered when the opposite of what they promise actually happens, and it will. Many have noted that tire manufacturers are not at all onboard with this bad idea, and the supposed support from the big ones is the equivalent of CostCo getting its shops open during the lockdowns while everyone else had theirs closed, they stand to benefit from all the small fry shutting down. Part of the problem is, there is a very vocal minority that has made dissent in the Demoncrat party a death sentence, using social media pressure. They will ruin your life if you cross them. So “sane” Demoncrats (they really do exist; we just don’t agree with them) can’t openly be sane.

No, that must have been some other Scott. I’ve never had the paste. I bought the liquid in the very early going, I think it’s an 8oz bottle, from some online animal supply store IIRC, in case it was all being removed from the shelves. It was getting hard to find, already gone from Amazon at that point.
So that must have been before we figured out how to get the tablets, and after that, I bought tablets.
I still have the liquid form, never broke the seal on the bottle.
So the only form I’ve actually taken is the tablets.

The person I’m thinking of had the paste syringe on a plate, then had technical difficulties and started scooping it up with a spoon off the plate….
Seems like I remember something like that, now that you mention it — but if so, I didn’t save that one.
I remember one of the guys squirting too much onto the spoon and eating it anyway.
I’ve never taken too big a dose at once. But I have heard that it’s difficult to overdose even on a whole tube of the horse paste. There were reports that hospitals were seeing people sick from doing it, but hospitals and doctors are liars, and the FDA, which of course knew better, scolded people and told them “you’re not a horse, stop it.” It’s the same medicine, and the dosage is the same by weight, horse or human.
As I mentioned recently, I have a large Word document that I use as a scratch pad for taking notes, saving a few posts from here most days, etc.
So I searched my Word doc for ‘paste’ and found 59 results. Most were ‘copy and paste’ or ‘toothpaste’ (fluoride discussion) or similar, but there were a few about IVM.

I’m in the habit of copying the link to the specific post now, the link that shows up if you hover your cursor in the upper RH corner of a post, but back when I saved these, I wasn’t. Or maybe it wasn’t even available then, I’m not sure.

With the paste, I take as much as the horse would take, if the horse weighed the same as me.
From the above, if I am reading this correctly, one tablet of 12 mg (which is what they come in at I.com) is for a person 132 pounds. And two tablets is for someone 264 pounds?
What if you need less than one tablet?

Scott…doesn’t seem to matter ab ‘overdosing’…in Africa, where IVM is routine, and incidentally mostly immune to covid, haha, I do not imagine doses are carefully titrated in every case…and records of usage display no side effects wrt dosage strength. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have many times used (in paste form) ab the equivalent of 2mg which knocks out a cold almost immediately. I weigh ab 115 #. I am rather hording my tablets, as I fully expect such easy routes of acquisition to be not so reliable come the coming darkness and difficulty. Others may benefit greatly from my stores,
I bought a bunch of paste before the $$$ increased due to demand. This is what I use, as many are not as indifferent as I wrt the paste.
Methinks any IVM we can acquire will be gold by the time the Winter of ’23 arrives.

I just broke out my dispensing syringes, ivermectin, shotglass, and 151 rum. Assembled syringe, poured a shot of rum, swished needle in rum, sucked a couple of cc’s into syringe, pushed out. Discarded rum.
Opened metal top to ivermectin, showing rubber cap. Punctured through cap with syringe and pulled desired amount of ivermectin in, pushed ivermectin out of syringe into shotglass.
Topped off with mineral water. Looked awful. Swigged that down and repeated.
Fiancee had scratchy throat, I had scratchy throat while Fiancee seemingly recovered, it came back for Fiancee worse and I was fine, then all day today I had it worse — glorking up annoying amounts of fluid. I had been lulled into not taking the ivermectin when the Fiancee got better, but I decided that it would be worth doing. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

I have a business plan and I would like investors.
Six locations. Every one sits four hundred yards past the California state line on Interstate 15, Interstate 40, Interstate 10, Interstate 8 and Interstate 80. Arizona and Nevada. You will see the sign before you see the border.
And a seventh, which is the flagship.
Stateline, Nevada. Right at the edge of Lake Tahoe, close enough that the second floor deck looks straight out over the water. You drive out of California, cross an invisible line, and there it is. Alpine lake, pine trees, a hundred and twelve gas pumps and a full service tire shop.
That one has slots.
Because it is Nevada and there is no reason not to. You can use a clean bathroom, play a hand of blackjack, eat at an all you can eat buffet featuring nine things Sacramento has outlawed, get four new tires fitted, and walk out having won a gas generator.
Nowhere else on the continent can you do all five of those in ninety minutes. That is not a truck stop. That is a civilisation.
No refinery at Tahoe though. Even I have limits.
Here is what we sell.
Gasoline at the actual price. Not the California price. The six interstate locations get their own small refinery, because two of theirs are closing and somebody has to do it.
Generators. An entire wing of them. California has banned the sale of new gas generators in a state that turns the power off on purpose, and I intend to be four hundred yards away when people work that out.
Leaf blowers. Chainsaws. Pressure washers. Lawn mowers. Everything with a small gas engine, which is now everything California will not sell you.
Those little green propane cylinders for camping. Banned there this year. We have a pallet.
Fireworks. The real ones. Not Safe and Sane. The other kind.
A plastic straw. In your hand. Immediately. No conversation about it.
Incandescent bulbs. A whole wall of them, warm and humming and gloriously inefficient.
Gas stoves, gas water heaters, gas anything. The gas department is enormous and the salespeople are unbearably smug.
Dishwashers that finish in under an hour and showerheads with an opinion.
Foie gras. Illegal there since 2012. I am not certain how many people want it, but that is rather the point.
The candy aisle carries every dye and additive Sacramento has taken a run at, plus a dedicated cooler for whatever they added to the list since I wrote this.
And a full sushi counter with actual sushi chefs, because Californians know sushi and it is the one thing on this list they will genuinely miss.
Two hundred and forty gas pumps. Eighty-three bathroom stalls, cleaned hourly, and the bathrooms are the entire point, because anybody who has driven that stretch knows exactly what the alternative is.
Brisket. Obviously brisket. And no, we are not carrying tri-tip. Tri-tip is a very good steak and it is not barbecue, and I will not be taking questions.
Nothing in the building carries a Prop 65 warning, because we are not in California and nobody has to tell you the parking lot causes cancer.
Now the part where I get sued.
Yes. Buc-ee’s will sue us. Their legal department has flattened bigger and better funded people than me over a beaver, a font, and a general vibe of Texas.
I welcome it. I would like to be sued by Buc-ee’s the way some people would like to meet Springsteen.
But I would rather partner.
Here is the pitch, gentlemen. You have forty odd locations and not one is within a thousand miles of the largest captive market in North America. Forty million people, an hour from a border, who cannot legally buy half of what you sell.
We are not competing with you. We are the customs checkpoint.
And the Tahoe location has slots and a view of the lake.
Call me. I will bring the numbers and I will wear the good shoes.

This video is by one of the yootoobers who regularly covers Elon Musk news, meaning Tesla and now SpaceX.
The first 15+ minutes (maybe longer, I’m at the 16 minute mark now) is mostly about using Ai to cure cancer, and then later involves mRNA, so it seems like something we should be aware of.
The early part is about something I’ve heard of before, an ultrasound pool that people go into, to get a full body scan in just a few minutes. Supposed to be more detailed than an MRI, and so cheap that people could get one every month if they want (or have reason to).
The company is planning to build 50,000 small clinics to do this, and each scan requires two petaflops of compute power (I don’t know how much that is, but apparently it’s a lot).
So this video also addresses the seemingly infinite need for compute power and data centers.
After the ultrasound segment, they start talking about the mRNA ‘cures’ for all types of cancer and other diseases. They note the issues and negativity associated with the Covid mRNA shots (and reference a new ‘operation warp speed’ for cancer cures, see timestamps below), but they seem to think this is somehow different or won’t involve the same problems as the Covid mRNA.
I’m skeptical, but others here know far more about mRNA related stuff than I do.
Apparently Moderna’s stock (stock ticker is actually MRNA…) tripled in value this past week, on news that they have developed an mRNA treatment for cancer. This is also discussed in the first 15-16 minutes of the video.

You guys, I’ve had a week. I would like your input on something I am thinking.
I got baptized in the river last Sunday. I got sick that afternoon, with a terrible headache, body aches, fatigue, you name it. It went on and on until midweek. I still have residual stuff, but it’s finally fading.
I’ve been beset by self-doubt and feelings of being unwanted, which is, unfortunately, my weak spot. Childhood trauma is a terrible thing.
I’ve discovered unwanted facts about someone close to me, that I wish I didn’t know. I was looking for information about one thing, and found something altogether different. Not good.
A couple of days ago, someone suggested that I was under a spiritual warfare attack because I took the big step of baptism. She said it means that Satan is big mad, and trying to turn me around.
I have been and continue to pray and talk to God about things, pretty much all day. And things seems to be lightening up. But I wanted to ask all of you if you’ve ever experienced anything like this. Because man, this has been intense.
It won’t work, I belong to Jesus. But it has been scary, all the same.
Just hang in there and continue to pray.

I have felt something deeply spiritual. My parents were Catholic, but not practicing after my brother was born. At 16, I decided I wanted to know more about our faith and then decided to make my first Holy Communion. the classes were interesting, but the thought of confession was overwhelming. I pulled on my big girl pants and made it anyway–confessing all my sins. It was terrifying. The Priest gave me my penance and out I went into the church to pray. I forget the number of Our Fathers and Hail Marys he told to pray, but being so new to this, I merely asked God to forgive me again and repeated only those words a number of times.
Then I left the church–hoping I did it right. It was an overcast morning, but when I stepped out of the church, a beam of sunlight hit me and honestly seemed to fill me up. I was wrapped in its warmth and comforted. (I have tears typing this because I can fully recall that intense feeling–the most joyous loved feeling.)
Looking back on that experience, I realize the folly of my penance…I never recited the full prayers, (which I have corrected) but my point is God loves us and wants us with Him. If you feel you’re being targeted by evil…ask for strength and help. He’ll respond.

Yes. This can happen.
The physical reactions you name can be a combination of several things:
One: The subconscious mind releasing long-stored physical effects of earlier trauma.
Two: The body and the mind are releasing grief related to the earlier trauma (example: a child being sad or angry about not feeling loved.)
Three: The subconscious mind attempting to “pull the person back” into the earlier traumatic experience(s). This is because the subconscious mind is programmed to remember and relive mostly negative life experiences.
Yours Truly has experienced the above more than a few times; the latest round being when my brother passed away in October 2024. None of the times I’ve been through the types of reactions above have been easy or gentle. Some have been brutal.
The “things seem to be lightening up” feeling, IMO, represents the body — mind — spirit of the person “letting go” of what happened in the past. A combination of cleansing and being ready to move on.
Psalm 107:23-31 is the description of the sailors caught in a storm. They cry to the Lord for help. He “delivers them of their distresses.” He calms the storm and the winds. Then, the Lord guides the sailors “to their desired haven.”
I think these verses are a great description.
I think your Baptism may be an example of the Almighty God “calming the storm” and “guiding to the desired haven” for you.

Learning something you did not wish to know is challenging; you cannot unknow it. What you choose to do with the knowledge is fully in your control, including to continue as if you never learned it. You have full control over how you handle ‘the knowing’.

COMMENTARY FOR JOB 22
Eliphaz shows that a man’s goodness profits not God. (1-4) Job accused of oppression. (5-14) The world before the flood. (15-20) Eliphaz exhorts Job to repentance. (21-30)
1-4 Eliphaz considers that, because Job complained so much of his afflictions, he thought God was unjust in afflicting him; but Job was far from thinking so. What Eliphaz says, is unjustly applied to Job, but it is very true, that when God does us good it is not because he is indebted to us. Man’s piety is no profit to God, no gain. The gains of religion to men are infinitely greater than the losses of it. God is a Sovereign, who gives no account of his conduct; but he is perfectly wise, just, faithful, good, and merciful. He approves the likeness of his own holiness, and delights in the fruits of his Spirit; he accepts the thankful services of the humble believer, while he rejects the proud claim of the self-confident.
5-14 Eliphaz brought heavy charges against Job, without reason for his accusations, except that Job was visited as he supposed God always visited every wicked man. He charges him with oppression, and that he did harm with his wealth and power in the time of his prosperity.
15-20 Eliphaz would have Job mark the old way that wicked men have trodden, and see what the end of their way was. It is good for us to mark it, that we may not walk therein. But if others are consumed, and we are not, instead of blaming them, and lifting up ourselves, as Eliphaz does here, we ought to be thankful to God, and take it for a warning.
21-30 The answer of Eliphaz wrongly implied that Job had hitherto not known God, and that prosperity in this life would follow his sincere conversion. The counsel Eliphaz here gives is good, though, as to Job, it was built upon a false supposition that he was a stranger and enemy to God. Let us beware of slandering our brethren; and if it be our lot to suffer in this manner, let us remember how Job was treated; yea, how Jesus was reviled, that we may be patient. Let us examine whether there may not be some colour for the slander, and walk watchfully, so as to be clear of all appearances of evil.

First, read the statement from Prime Minister Mark Carney, with the understanding that Carney is making the first statement because the news is exceptionally bad for Canada. Worse than bad.

When the 3-day tariff pause was announced, CTH said to be cautious. When USTR Jamieson Greer and Canadian negotiator Dominic LeBlanc said the terms were “basically agreed”, again CTH said be careful.
The reason for our notes of extreme caution is because the divide between the two economies and trade policy is just too big. There was no way for both sides to close the gap without major structural economic changes within Canada. The issues are not points of friction, they are just too big and embedded within the laws of Canada that would have to change.
Banking regulations would have to change. Intellectual property and media rules, regulations and laws would have to change. Industrial policy would have to change. The Canadian energy policy would have to change. The carbon trading scheme would have to change or be removed. All of this would fall upon Canada to carry out in order to position their economy in alignment with the USA. There’s literally no way for their government to accomplish this against the backdrop of their political ideology.
That was the structural argument and point made by former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. This is also why the USMCA as a trilateral trade agreement is impossible to maintain. The only trade agreement construct possible is two clearly separate bilateral free trade agreements, one with Mexico and one with Canada.
The 50% tariffs begin tonight.
A trade war is underway.

Despite the U.S. offer to Canada to receive the best treatment of any major exporter to our market, new demands and walk backs of other commitments by Canada have upended the careful balance reached in the past days. In addition, Canada is continuing to maintain its prolonged retaliation against the United States, including, among other things, flat-out prohibitions on certain American goods and services.
For decades, Canada has enjoyed the most favorable access to the U.S. market of any country. And from the beginning of President Trump’s trade program, Canada has continued to enjoy the best treatment in the world, even after – like China – retaliating against the United States. This week, the United States agreed to provide even better treatment to Canada, offering significant tariff reductions on steel, aluminum, autos, and lumber.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is now involved. According to the hospital, the four patients were supposed to receive mepivacaine, a local anesthetic commonly used during surgical procedures. Instead, the hospital’s pharmacy supplied potassium phosphate.
In excessive amounts or when administered too rapidly, potassium can cause potentially fatal changes in heart rhythm and cardiac arrest.

Yes. Something ain’t right
Yes, there are definitely MANY foreign doctors in the system now, and I am not convinced that all of them are qualified. I personally ran into one case where a foreign doctor essentially gave up on figuring out a problem, including the possibility of referral to a specialist, and punted to something that – while it was beneficial by virtue of “always being good for the patient” – basically evaded further diagnosis to close the case and save money. I went along with it, because this way I can pick my own specialist, on my own schedule.

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, retired Judge Michael Chitty denied a motion for a new trial for Karmelo Anthony, the 19-year-old convicted of murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf.
Anthony was previously sentenced to 35 years in prison following a June 2026 conviction for the fatal stabbing at a Frisco high school track meet.
Judge Chitty’s order stated that after reviewing the motion, record, evidence, arguments, briefs, and relevant case law, the court determined the motion should be denied. This decision concludes this phase of post-conviction proceedings in Collin County.
IMO the only reason to give him a new trial is to make sure he gets LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE or the DEATH PENALTY next time.

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Heavenly Father, as I lie down to sleep tonight, I pray that You would guard my sleeping and protect my mind from wandering thoughts and unnecessary planning. Teach me to wait for Your perfect timing and not to try to plan my future in my own strength.
Lord, I know that You have scheduled every day of my life. Help me to trust You in all things and rely on You to lead me along the straight path and guide me in the direction that You would have me to go.
Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing, and may I not trust in my own abilities and scheming, but rather rest in Your love and trust my future into Your hands.
