Grand Slam

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Flor de Caña 7-year-old grand reserve rum
  • 1 ounce Gosling’s Black Seal rum
  • 1/2 ounce Pierre Ferrand dry curaçao ancienne methode
  • 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed  
  • 1/4 ounce grenadine
  • Garnish: orange twist

Steps

  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over crushed ice.
  3. Garnish with an orange twist.

My conclusion is that we bend over backwards, turn the other cheek and give the benefit of the doubt to those who’ve declared themselves our political enemies because we feel we must remain on the moral high ground and be true to our beliefs.

One of those beliefs is that all people have the right to speak their minds however objectionable or wrong-headed/wrong-hearted their comments and core beliefs may be. We conservatives defend the right of every person to be wrong, and because we’ve been brought up to believe that there are just some things that civilized people don’t do to each other, we leave our flank exposed to attack from those on the Left.

We let our ideals get the better of us.

If certain stories in the conspiracy community are true, Waco was NOT the reason Vince Foster was murdered. I have no doubt he was murdered in a cover up, just not about that incident, but one that is not all that well known.

There’s a war against happiness.  Climate alarmists bury good news and exaggerate bad news.  They have made up their minds to be miserable, and they’re determined to take the rest of us down with them.

For example, have you heard that over the past 30 years, there has been a 14-percent increase in the Earth’s green vegetation?  Deserts are getting smaller, and forests are getting lusher.  That gain even has a name: “Earth Greening.”  Not surprisingly, 70 percent of it stems from the increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere!  Zaichun Zhu, one of the scientists who measured the greening, says it’s equivalent to adding a new continent of green vegetation twice the size of the mainland United States.

The benefits of the increased vegetation are widespread: “It means more food for insects and deer, for elephants and mice, for fish and whales.  It means higher yields for farmers; the effect has probably added about $3 trillion to farm incomes over the past 30 years, so less land is needed to feed the human population and more can be spared for wildlife instead.”  We’ve given a raise to all commercial farmers around the world.  Increased supply eventually results in reduced prices.

For Alvin Bragg and his supporters/cheerleaders in media/politics, “there’s fire on both sides of the door.”

No indictment, he has failed, media/pols got tricked into joining his wagon as it launched off a cliff.

If he DOES pen an indictment, it will be easily dismissed, Trump will have more street cred and support than ever before, and Bragg+media+pols will have Hell to face.

Either way, on the other side of The Matador Trump’s cape is a fucking brick wall and [they] are headed full speed right into it.

There’s also a possibility that a spicier dish may be served up: one that results in the indictment of someone OTHER than Trump and flips this entire fake news saga on it’s head and twist it into a pretzel.

As Silicon Valley Bank’s customers panicked about their money stuck at the lender last week, some deep-pocketed nonprofits, including major foundations, privately floated an unorthodox idea: Giving cash infusions to startups in exchange for their agreement to certain diversity and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles, people familiar with the matter said.

The government’s move on Sunday to protect all uninsured deposits made those funds unnecessary. But the proposal reflects the growing, opportunistic demands of venture capital investors, like university endowments and nonprofits, which have been sending questionnaires to VCs they back about diversity numbers, greenhouse gas emissions, and other governance issues.

Both pieces revolve around the efforts to rid the nation of central banks and bankers. Andrew Jackson succeeded and that lasted about eighty years. President Kennedy gave it a shot and was publicly executed for his efforts. President Donald Trump also would like to see the end of the central bank known as the Federal Reserve. For some reason, the author of the second Substack piece seems to believe that Trump would be pushing us toward Bitcoin – famous for the Pepe frog – rather than a currency backed in a commodity. Some of us think President Trump is smarter than that, but that’s the supposition of the author.

Along the way, it is noticed that BOTH pieces were published on March 15, the Ides of March, and the deadline for tax payment in the Roman Empire. Yes, Julius Caesar was stabbed on the date, but there is more significance than just his death.

March 15 also happens to be Andrew Jackson’s birthday.

Put all that together along with a lot of tweeting that happened on March 15 over the years, and the author of the second piece makes some really rather out there arguments for the importance of the numbers 3,1, and 5 in the coded communications being passed around by Trump and others for which we in the cheap seats do not have a decoder ring. Along the way, said author takes us down numerical gematria lane. For many years, I discounted much of the idea of gematria, until I heard the famous, and AMAZINGLY knowledgeable Jimmy Akin explain that the number of the Beast in the Apocalypse (Book of Revelation) is/was gematria in multiple languages for Nero. Listen to his explanation here if the reader likes. I should have it cued up to 44:47 where the question regarding the Beast is asked. (And, yes, Fr. G.R., my sophomore religion teacher, did tell us that the Beast was Nero and Nero’s Rome.)
