The analysis just rings of proper physics, and is entirely analogous to the same phenomenon for SEVERAL other vehicles in different situations. Basically, initiation of a turn too early in a case of deceleration or inadequate acceleration.
Note that this crash occurred BEFORE our first communist administration, which (IMO) compromised accident investigation severely and in a very calculated way.

The number just seemed WAY too low – so I ran more searches on the page, which is how I found that.
4 digit numbers – roughly 5
3 digit numbers – roughly 50
2 digit numbers – roughly 500
1 digit numbers – roughly 5100
Counting characters, columns and rows, gave me about 51,700 characters.
Basically, the page is only about 1/20 of the actual first 1 million digits of pi.
But now it makes sense. If the distribution of digits is random, a 1-digit number should appear about every 10 digits, or about 5100 times in 51,000, or 100,000 in 1,000,000 digits.
A 2-digit number would appear roughly 1 out of every 100, a 3-digit number 1 out of every 1000, and a 4 digit number one out of every 10,000, meaning in 1 million digits, about 100 times.

Talk about hard core cat lady, I was at the local university monitoring a class in abnormal psych. After class a few of us were talking and laughing it up. I mentioned that I was going home to play a few games of cat bowling on the computer.
It was near Halloween, and someone emailed me the cartoon game. Everyone laughed except one.
This woman went scary ballistic on me Screaming and deriding me because she loved cats. “ How could I be so cruel!”
In her defense, she had been emotionally abused as a child, post-abortive, married an emotional abuser, was a democrat and was almost finished with her degree as a social worker. Had a politically connected job lined up with the courts system for when she licensed. Wow!

Academia cheats — and yet they kick students out of school for it.
Hollywood cheats — and yet they preach to the rest of us about ‘ethics’ and ‘morals’.
Political class cheats — and yet they make the laws that the rest of us are governed by.
Exposing them sets the stage for what is to come.
Acedemia needs to learn that there are consequences. They’ve been living in dreamland for far too long.
Academia has also been wallowing in Our Money!
These ‘student loan programs’ have made them rich.
And Academia gets to rake in loads of cash…with No Accountability for creating degree programs for which there is no practical application in the real world!
It is ridiculous how much the colleges have raised their tuition prices since the student loan programs were created.
I think that all colleges should have to Co-Sign on the student loans.
If the student defaults, then the college pays!
But even doing that doesn’t address the problem of their idiotic degrees in ‘gender studies’ and ‘underwater trans basket-weaving’.

Michael…”living in a dreamland”, yes! and my first thought when I heard the news was that finally the people in charge of these institutions would be forced out of the shadows and held accountable to provide records to the public of income/expenses so that institutional financial responsibility could factor into parent/student college choices.
Thinking further that perhaps this would change the dynamics of their world where they easily raise tuition and student debt then rises to pay tuition and Congressional decisions to implement direct lending cutting out private banks who have an incentive to run the program so they make a profit while the government has no such incentive because losses are borne by the taxpayer…then the institution would be forced to justify the next expansion of their dreamland…and come face to face with the idea…expansions cost money that may no longer be so easily accessed by raising tuition which would be public information and finally understanding there is a reason to consider expenses in planning….

Nah…just seeing a ray of hope after years of watching how the “educatonal $” really flow and when they don’t we taxpayers are taxed to open back up the flow and most taxpayers don’t even know it’s happening….
When I was in college back in the dark ages, students did not take out loans. They either applied for scholarships, did Cooperative Education (worked part time or alternating on semester with a job and one semester in class) or their parents paid as they went or the student dropped out and worked a while. They all graduated debt free with great resumés.
Most students either lived at home and commuted, and drove jalopies, not BMWs or lived in dorms and there were NO co-ed dorms, no opposite sex on the halls – PERIOD. Heck, girls could not wear shorts on the front campus. Guys checked dates out like library books at the dorm reception desk and there were strict CURFEWS.
There were TWO kinds of scholarships – need-based and merit-based scholarships.
And there were likely no yachts owned by any member of the Board of Trustees?

A BIG point about the whole college/university thing is getting missed. Where one goes to school is a brand, of sorts. It’s a pretty line to put on a resume and a bragging point. Thirty years ago, we knew people on the water polo teams at places like Brown, and they said to one sibling who went to a less prestigious school, you’re the only one getting an education.

Same for me, I graduated in 2015 (at age 35!) as a wife and mother (of three great kids!). I was told that I wouldn’t get anywhere without a degree. I attended a little four year college in the middle of nowhere. I have my degree, no student debt (I did, but have since paid it off!) and am thankful, but man it was hard work. Got a nice job right after college, but am looking to go into another profession eventually.

I had a few fails years ago with a less detailed recipe but kept trying. Whipped cream frosting uses much less sugar than buttercream frosting so I prefer to go with even if I don’t eat the finished product. I like to lick the bowl. It, cheating Keto, but not horribly. 🙂
Another way to stabilize cream is with cream cheese. I use that form when making cherry delight for special family gatherings.
Herry Delight is a layered desert with crushed graham cracker bottom, then sweetened cream cheese, then topped with fluffy stuff that I sub with fluffy cream cheese stabilized whipped cream, topped with cherry pie filling or cooked, sweetened and thickened sour cherries.

It is a long standing tradition of the American Government to pick winners and losers, crush competition, and force industrial consolidation.
Why did we have four major airlines in the U.S. and a huge barrier of entry for new carriers? Because the U.S. Postal Service forced all the small carries and airlines to merge and re-merge if they were going to be allowed to get the USPS mail transport contracts.
AT&T played the government to control the switching network. As long as they didn’t run afoul of the gov’t and played along as if they were a fourth branch of the gov’t, they were allowed a protected monopoly status. This lasted up until the great AT&T breakup.
FDR loved public utilities, so we got heavy regulation of private utilities. It became unfeasible for a private citizen entrepreneur to start an electric or water treatment utility. Afterward, the great debate became whether these entities were “public” or “private” not about whether there were open market opportunities. In much of the country the garbage collection is either performed by the city itself, or the city bids out garbage collection in annual contracts. Why? Someone decided it should be a municipal service. A few localities allow citizens to choose their collection services, but this isn’t the norm.
Obamacare is just the same thinking applied to the medical insurance industry, to pick winners and losers, reward cronies, and shake them down for political donations. For all the articles about how Obamacare is a failure – those only look at what was promised versus what was delivered. In terms of achieving the desired result – creating a monolithic oligopoly of untouchable insurers – it was in fact nothing less than an astounding success.
And why not? The same model worked so well in 2008 for consolidating the banking sector.
Do you want to buy a car from a small, local hometown manufacturer? Oh no, you have to buy from one of the BIG THREE automakers. Don’t cry in your beer too much over that, they’ll let you and your buddy can spend your evenings arguing Ford or Chevy until the end of time.
How many aircraft manufacturers do we have in the U.S.? So few – Why?
Why do we have Windows versus Mac? In the early 80s there were more computer companies than you could count. Ironically today people choose Microsoft – because they don’t want vender lock-in with Apple! This is the insane reality we live with today.

It was the only way to get Americans to accept a statist economic restructuring. The Germans did statism by directly taking control of the industries while maintaining a sense of “ownership”. In America they couldn’t be so blatant about it, even with a wholly manufactured economic crisis of historical proportions in the 1930s. The comments about Columbine and VA Tech are prompting me to mention a long conversation I had today about how the AR-15 shows up in every questionable mass shooting now to the point where it’s almost a “calling card.” Here’s a controversial theory I have about that.
For those those who don’t know much about guns, the AR-15 uses tiny ammunition (5.56 mm). In fact, it’s illegal in some states to use that ammo for deer hunting because it’s not lethal enough. The 5.56 design was based off ammunition that was considered “varmint ammo.” After JFK was assassinated, the US military was pressured into adopting this ammo because it’s less lethal than the caliber we used to use (all part of the greater plan to neuter the US military). I also strongly suspect part of the push to make the AR-15 popular and affordable was to encourage American gun owners to rely on less lethal (i.e. less dangerous to the cabal) firearms.

Not true.
5.56 (.223) was adopted MAINLY because it was lighter to carry in bulk and, BY GIVEN WEIGHT (say, 10 lbs), a single soldier could fire more bullets within a standard issued weight than heavier rounds. Additionally, the rifles which fire(d5.56 are lighter in weight than heavier caliber rifles, with smaller chambers, thinner barrels, lighter frames, etc.
Moreover….
While it is true that early 5.56 technology wasn’t optimal when first adopted, it has subsequently been refined into an extremely lethal caliber. But this is still a relative statement vs. .30 cal. rounds.
That all said, the optimal battlefield round is long proven to be one of the .30 cal variants…. .308 .300 .30-06 or .338 …. with the .308 being the most common (AR-10, M-14, etc) following WWII (in which the .30-06 was the round chosen for the M-1 Garand).
Btw, I forgot to mention….cost was the other factor in the decision.
5.56 (.223) is MUCH less expensive (both per round and per gun) than 7.62 (.30).

All of the above is to say, let’s not re-write history to suit an anti-deep state narrative. Plenty of actual, real evidence regarding the deep state and its plans for America without making up BS.
I was trained in the South African military using the R4 AR (copied from Israeli Galil) using 5.56mm ammo. We were taught that, though smaller in calibre than 7.62, it was highly lethal due to the tumble of the bullet.
I was initially sceptical of this claim, but was convinced after one visit to the rifle range. The targets showed all manner of projectile profiles, definitive evidence of “tumble”.
Yeah, the rifles are lighter is because they use aluminum parts now rather than steel, which I also find rather suspicious.
I don’t doubt that cost and weight were compelling selling points to the bean counters making the decisions, but I cant help but see the overall push through the globalist lens of “let’s get Americans to ditch their quality steel rifles to shoot rounds that aren’t considered lethal enough to kill a deer.”
Lethality of the 5.56 is a function of “Gun CONTROL”.

Summerville is a lovely town with good schools and shopping. Volvo is building a plant near there which is why you are seeing new development and older people moving further away from the city. The Flowertown Festival is the first week of April if you want to come see the locals. A very family friendly festival. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Further away from Charleston. Traffic can be bad here as well. I-26 during rush hour can be bad, but it’s usually only during rush hour coming and going from Charleston. Summerville is a beautiful area and you are still close enough to drive into Charleston in about 45 minutes. If I remember correctly from OT you like to play tennis and the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel’s Island would be about the same drive time. My husband’s family has a lot of tennis players and they enjoy the facilities. We are not as crowded as Myrtle Beach yet. Lol

Daughn…Posobiec created a hoax with a notorious internet hoaxer, in order to try to ‘prove’ that “Q is a fake”.
The Anons debunked Posobiec’s hoax within about 12 hours, even showing how Posobiec had faked the chat logs that he was holding up as ‘proof’.
Then, when Sd had his meltdown about Q…he attempted to dox Q by posting the pics of a couple of guys that were appearing on Bill Mitchell’s program, whom Sd had gotten into a twitter-spat with.

I caught SD’s article last night. He’s being careful about Jeff, but the real issue for him is what transcripts does Jeff has access to, and others don’t. I think the war between SD and Cates is ongoing no matter what, but Jeff can’t be attacked in the same way – being that he’s a highly respected reporter/researcher.
Jeff uncovered that Nellie Ohr was/is likely CIA which would lead the Russia Dossier – PLOT to take out POTUS – all the way back to the CIA. It’s already been disclosed Bruce Ohr’s released transcripts that he and his wife shared an email address, so messages coming in for her, including who they were from, Bruce was privy to. Pretty damning business.
It’s also should be reinforced, that the machinations of the people behind the dossier, CIA, DOJ, FBI, Clintons, Democrat Party… would have done the same against any GOP candidate, not just DJT. The reason why they didn’t succeed is simply because the Communists/Fascists had never come up against a genuine, middleweight fighter like POTUS.

Actually in FB’s case it’s bigger than that. They own their own DCs, built them ground up from scratch. They have complete control over their supply chains and equipment, custom built servers they designed in house – not bought from the likes of Dell or HP. FB was one of the top purchasers of intel CPUs – and that was several years ago – FB, AWS, Google, MS/Linkedin/Azure totally eclipsed IBM/HP/Dell orders. Unbelievably high-density server racks – no extra PS’s or USBs or other “peripherals” – boards totally optimized for One thing and One thing only packed as dense as power and heat can allow. Mirrors and RAID are nothing compared to WALLS of SSD storage and copies of copies of copies data cross sync’d in every direction. Network backplanes which uplink directly into high end routers. Custom designed power distribution equipment to continue delivering power in the event of failures – traditional systems “shut off” to protect industrial generators down the line – they get more power uptime by removing those assumptions. All designs considered confidential and FB proprietary, if not patented – or designs blatantly ripped off from AWS/Google/Cisco/others… anyone caught leaking details of course subject to termination. Still it’s just a secret hiding in plain sight.

This is a great video – but it left me with a few burning questions.
Are all heavenly bodies (planets, moons, stars) perfect spheres?
If so, WHY?
Can this be proved?
If so, is the proof a formula using π?
Not perfect spheres, but they tend to be spherical. If they were made out of fluid and didn’t rotate, they’d become perfect spheres. Large bodies made out of solid material will tend to form perfect spheres too, because that’s the lowest gravitational potential the object can have. A huge (say, 1000 mile) lump on the earth would get crushed under its own weight and flatten out. The asteroid Ceres is about 600 miles across and spherical (but you can see some lumpiness to it). As objects get smaller than that there’s less gravitational force and it doesn’t overcome the tendency of solids to retain their own shape–which is to say, they don’t get crushed under their own weight.
If you want a mathematically rigorous proof that spheres have the lowest gravitational potential, I’ll have to dig, a LOT–I haven’t worked with that kind of stuff in about 30 years. And it will involve a lot of calculus.
A rotating planet will tend to get wider at the equator (“oblate”) because of centripetal (what most people call “centrifugal”) forces. Jupiter is noticeably oblate to the human eye because it rotates VERY quickly, in less than ten hours, and is large–about 11 times as wide as Earth.
Earth is 6873.1 kilometers in radius measuring at the equator, and 6356.9 km in radius through the poles, so it is slightly flattened too. Of course, our puny selves see mountains and ocean basins and so forth but they’re all so minor that if the earth was the size of a bowling ball, we wouldn’t be able to feel them.
There are things like nebulae that aren’t spherical–but either they have been blown into space by exploding stars (so they’re not gravitationally bound, things in them are at escape velocity), like the Crab Nebula or Ring Nebula, or they are in the process of collapsing into spheres, oftentimes many of them (like the “pillars of creation” in the Eagle Nebula, or also the Orion Nebula) and will eventually become stars. Galaxies aren’t spherical either, but they aren’t single objects; they contain hundreds of billions of individual stars. Even so they often exhibit an elliptical shape and won’t develop spiral arms until an encounter with another galaxy.
But in the main, a gravitationally bound single body will become a spheroid–probably an oblate one, and not a perfectly smooth one–if it’s large enough.

The universe is very, very big. The space between stars is enormous (think trillions of miles); the space between galaxies can be a million times as great as that; the space between galaxy *clusters* is…hundreds of times that. And it’s largely empty.
The universe has, on average one atom of hydrogen in every four cubic meters.
If you consider how many atoms there are in the Earth, and the Sun, and the other planets, that’s a LOT of empty space to make the average come out right.
(My mentioning the sun reminds me of another factoid–if you were to look at the solar system from a “God’s eye view” it would consist of the Sun, maybe Jupiter, and the rest is minor debris that put together doesn’t even add up to another Jupiter.)

You’re getting closer to stuff I really don’t understand that well, but that seems to be where physics is going. Pretty much any subatomic particle, whether it has mass (“matter”) or not, is some sort of quantum packet of energy–though a real physicist might cringe at the way I just said that. Even the so-called massless particles like photons (light) apparently do affect the universe gravitationally, if I understand correctly. They count as “stuff” when they’re trying to figure out how much is in the universe, although the contribution of photons is extremely, extremely small compared to matter (both visible and dark) and dark energy.

This has been bugging me for quite a while.
It has to do with the “Heliocentric” model of the galaxy.
Givens:
Sun in the middle.
Earth (and planets) rotate around the sun.
The Earth rotates +/- 360 degrees per day.
Ok, let’s look at this in a 2D projection like a clock face.
Sun in the middle
Earth is at 12 o’clock on December 1 at noon
(December being the 12th month on clock face)
You are standing on the face of the earth at this time
since it is noon, you are looking south into the sun.
(remember, the earth rotates +/- 360 degrees per day)
As time (months) go by….
we get to June 1 at noon
(6 o’clock on the clock face)
you would still be looking south because of the 24 hr days.
Are you still looking INTO the sun?
This is a good question, and it’s a bit of a TRICK (not intentional) that happens because of the way that we build mental models in a kind of oriented Cartesian space/time that we carry around with us. That model resembles walking around with a map and a clock, and the ideas of up, down, left, right, forward and backward. It is NOT the actual models we are thinking about.
Thus, what you are doing here is IMPOSING human earth-surface up-down-left-right-forward-back (Cartesian space) on a RADIAL problem without realizing it.
Here is the fast way out (the thinking process spelled out)….
(1) loosen your idea of space (What is “North or South? Maybe it’s NOT what you’re thinking.)
(2) loosen your idea of time (What is 24 hours? What does it LOOK LIKE? Stay flexible.)
(3) we know the Earth is moving “around” the sun while it turns.
(4) let the Earth turn RELATIVE to the SUN.
(5) what is NOON? It’s the sun “straight up” if you’re in the right place on Earth.
(6) when is the NEXT NOON? Same thing. Sun directly “above” you.
(7) what does this MEAN? It means that the TIME of one day AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDES the Earth moving (revolving) in your described perspective.
Thus, NOON is NOON, and you know that when the Earth is “opposite” relative to the Sun, noon is pointed THE OTHER WAY relative to THE SUN, viewed from some perspective that is roughly what you were thinking. (we can’t use the sun itself – IT is rotating, too, relative to the stars, etc.!)
However, none of this accounts for even more complications of the solar system moving, the galaxy moving, etc. And all of that depends on what things are moving RELATIVE TO.
Nevertheless, be glad that you now see that NOON is NOON relative to the SUN, and that we have to remember the PHYSICAL BASIS for our ideas about measurement in physics.

No trickery intended. I realize the spatial aspect, but I tried to pose the problem in way most could comprehend. (Left, Right, North, South, etc.) The Clock face was to represent the Orbital Plane of the earth around the sun. Mathematically, it is impossible for a specific point on the earth to be facing the sun at noon every day if the earth did indeed rotate +/- 360 degrees every day, and the orbit around the sun took +/- 365 days per year (12 months). If Noon is Noon, 24 hours apart, Every day, And always faces the sun, then something else has to be off. I don’t know the answer, but “They” lie about everything else…..

Good question, but one nit:
The sun is not at the center of the galaxy, rather it’s at the center of the solar system–and the solar system is about 2/3rds of the way out from the center of the galaxy.
OK, that out of the way–I was actually thinking of writing a post about related matters–in “honor” of switching to Daylight Saving Time.
The Earth in fact rotates in 23 hours, 56 minutes, 4 and a fraction seconds as seen from the point of view you’re describing. That’s called a “sidereal day” and it’s one revolution of the earth as seen from a fixed viewpoint (often described as “with respect to the fixed stars”). Astronomers can measure this readily by watching stars; how long does it take for a star to return to the same position the next night? In fact observatories usually have a “sideral clock” that measures time in those shorter days–you can literally look at the clock and instantly know which constellations are up at the moment (once you learn the constellations). In fact, they even plot “longitude” coordinates in the sky with “right ascension” in hours, minutes and seconds–sidereal hours, minutes and seconds–with the position of the sun at the beginning of spring being 00h, 00m, 00s, and declination (“latitude”) 0 degrees.
As seen from way out there, with the north pole of the sun (and earth) facing us, the earth rotates COUNTERclockwise and goes around the sun COUNTERclockwise (if you think about it, to get the sun to move clockwise as seen from the northern hemisphere, the earth must be rotating counterclockwise). In a day, it moves (approximately) one degree along in its orbit–a bit less on average. So in order to get the sun to be overhead again, it has to rotate almost 361 degrees, not 360. It takes about 4 minutes to rotate one degree, so add almost that much to the 23 hours and 56 minutes and 4 seconds…and voila! You have 24 hours. So the 24 hours is time from facing the sun to time facing the sun, NOT an actual rotation.
Of course it’s not quite that simple; that’s an average time. Because Earth’s orbit is slightly elliptical AND it moves faster when it’s closer to the sun, AND because the earth has an axial tilt, sometimes it’s a bit more, and sometimes it’s a bit less. But you can average it out and come up with a notional “mean sun” and consider noon to be when that mean sun crosses the midpoint in the sky (the meridian). It can be as much as 20 minutes off from the real sun. (Check out Wikipedia “Equation of Time” if you are so inclined.) And of course with time zones, your watch will give you the mean solar time for the center longitude of your time zone, not your city. (+1 hour when on DST).

Of late they’ve all been HQed in the Beltway although the current president of my employer used to live in Colorado…but no dice, his beancounters won’t let him do it.
Neither do small ones. The care worker who came in last night didn’t get paid by the small nursing home in Randolph where she works – she tried to get there but the State had closed the road by pulling a snow plow across the hi-way. I don’t know of any employer that will pay for snow days, TBH.
What’s worse is, when you are on “salary” you aren’t really; you’re expected to fill in a time card with 40 hours…which means I have to call yesterday and probably today “paid time off”
What can I say? As corrupt as our leadership is (and it is), I am a union man….we have labor contracts with our employers. But don’t blame me, you can’t do what I do without joining the union. Well, you can, turn the union will still take it’s dues from you AND not protect you if you don’t.

I am reading/skimming through the Strzok testimony. I say skimming in part because I can’t bear to read much of the Demoncrat questioning.
I will say this, however. I would HATE to be on the receiving end of a questioning by Trey Gowdy. He is sharp as a straight razor, that guy, and could cut your throat in a millisecond with the acuity of his mind.

So they blackmailed the President.
They created sealed indictments against Jared, Ivanka, Eric and Don Jr. in the time between Sessions left and Whitaker became acting AG. Which means they misled and abused the Grand Jury system too.
Blackmail against the president is another crime to be added to their charges, as well as abuse of prosecutorial power and violation of rights (charging crimes against people who have committed no crime).
But the second part bothers me more.
A father’s love BETTER know some bounds, like the rule of Law, for starters. Especially when that father is the leader of a nation.
I have never understood how it seems ‘normal’ (or at least MSM portrays it as ‘normal’) that so many parents seem willing to make excuses for and/or cover up their children’s crimes (for an example — I’m not suggesting DJT’s children did anything wrong).
That’s probably because my Mom made it clear (often!) that if she caught any of her children committing any ‘crime’, she would be the first one to turn us in. And she wasn’t kidding. 😁
That kind of anticipatory ‘betrayal’ probably comes with its own whole set of psychological issues, but growing up in that kind of environment makes it very difficult to ‘relate’ to the radical opposite, i.e., ‘protect at any and all cost’.

I was big on X Files back in the day, but I didn’t watch Numb3rs or Fringe. At this point, I avoid a lot of very enjoyable television (“Fake Entertainment”) so that I can’t be influenced by “fictionalization” of hide-worthy realities. I’ve allowed myself to watch the new FBI with some regret, but part of that is measurement of certain MK aspects, and deduction of new techniques.
I believe that I need more and periodic separation from the MK of fake entertainment in order to observe it cleanly and with minimal damage.
The intelligence of the MK of fake entertainment worries me, however. It’s “too smart”.
Fringe I think was better than Xfiles, I started rewatching it last week….its kinda freaky to watch now being woke. Unfortunately Im watching it on Bezosprime 🙁

AND major changes are planned during off hours for minimal impact in case something does go wrong. Production rollouts are staged. Reposting my earlier comment:

Monster server and disk farms that allow for creation of new servers and remapping of disk farms on the fly. Critical data is either mirrored or raided for quick rebuild access. Spare critical parts are on hand. Most DC’s have backup “on demand hot sites” usually contracted with big vendors (IBM, Microsoft) in case of disasters. These hot sites have similar equipment so companies can “swing over” comms and restore data for mission critical apps to bring Production online ASAP. Disaster recovery drills should be performed on an annual or quarterly basis. All procedures should be thoroughly tested before going into Production. If there was a disaster, swinging over to the hot site could result in slower performance overall and/or limited application access BUT there is NO excuse for an 8hr outage. A company as big as FB should have these procedures nailed down. This was either intentional or a MAJOR MAJOR F’up in their processes!!

The way I see it, he left himself open to the vilifying attacks the left perpetrated upon him by coming across too angry and vehement. McCarthy really understood the DEPTH of infiltration, and the EXTENT of it, but I think he was a bit too binary about “who is a communist”, and it allowed them to entrap him (as you say, flanking maneuver).
I love the description of what they did as a flanking maneuver – YES. But I also think that he would have had lateral cover if he would have had today’s understanding of communism. “Future proves past.” Sadly, he did not have that then.

Pilots reportedly made “at least five complaints” about Boeing 737 Max 8 planes to the FAA before the fatal Ethiopian Airlines Crash, Sunday.
According to Business Insider, “One captain complained about the plane’s autopilot system, calling the flight manual ‘inadequate and almost criminally insufficient,’” while another pilot declared, “The fact that this airplane requires such jury rigging to fly is a red flag.”
One pilot even claimed it was “unconscionable” to allow pilots without special training to fly the planes.

It’s a matter of which is better?
Time in a simulator…vs…Time in an actual cockpit, flying a real plane.
Sim training is good; it’s a good start.
But there really is no substitute for actual time in a cockpit, flying a real plane.
The problem is, it is expensive to use real planes for training flights.
The cost of jet fuel + The cost of engine & airframe hours = Costly.
The airlines used to use every 3rd leg of a flight for a training flight.
They would let one of the copilots take the left seat for that flight leg.
Not sure if they still do this, or not.
Most passengers would find it disturbing to know that they were paying for a ‘training flight’.
Remember, though that most of these guys are former military. Their previous flight hours may well have been a lot.
Yes, absolutely…former mil pilots are great.
But there is the issue of ‘time in type’.
There is a big difference in the systems and handling of a ‘heavy’ versus a fighter plane.
I think that’s why Potus made that remark about “too complicated”.
He has been talking to his own pilots for decades.
My dad was a pilot…and he frequently lamented about how cockpits were becoming too computerized, just for the sake of selling something ‘new’.
Aerospace is in the blood. As children we could tell the fighters apart by sound. Well, F-4s anyway. One sibling is a pilot. Marine. The training was on multiple types. What I find interesting is that they turn off all the fancy new equipment and do it themselves.

The problem these days, are the young guys who just go to Flight School, get some sim time…and then are plunked down in a cockpit with passengers in the back.
There is really no substitute for actual flight time.
Trouble is…the airlines don’t want to have to pay for training flights, flights without passengers in the back.
The manufacturers *prefer* actual flight time, over just sim training.
But the airlines are their customers.
So they have to try to keep their customers happy.
Same training guy, former USMC pilot back on Fox w/ Harris today. Since these new planes have bigger engines, procedures during an emergency have changed. Plane software takes over and Without being in simulator, pilots aren’t exposed to how to respond to new process. If they use old process, it’s catastrophic. He’s again pointing out lack of expensive training by the smaller foreign airlines. US airlines have invested in training and flown over 40,000 flights in new models, with no issues.
Yeah, like I said, sim-training is good.
It’s a good start.
Simulators are programed to simulate a lot of the problems that a pilot might encounter.
But…are they programed for every ‘conceivable’ problem that might happen?
What about a problem that hasn’t been conceived yet?
There is really no substitute for actual flight time…in addition to sim training.
A couple of those complaints were allegedly “anonymous” which coupled with timing are suspect. Pilots have legitimate mechanisms to comment/complain without fear of reprisals. If something’s wrong they report to maintenance. Everyone works together to resolve problem.

Democratic Tennessee Rep. John DeBerry Jr. said he voted for a bill that will ban abortions in the presence of a fetal heartbeat to enhance the pride and self-esteem of women.
DeBerry voted in favor of the bill so that women “don’t feel that their bodies are just a vessel for somebody to play with,” he said, according to The Tennessean. “I think that’s what’s being lost. Personal responsibility, pride, self-esteem, it makes a person walk away from those situations that get them in this position,” DeBerry also said.
DeBerry’s remarks come after the Tennessee House of Representatives passed a bill March 7 that seeks to ban abortions after an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detected. Exceptions are permitted only “in a medical emergency that necessitates an immediate abortion of a woman’s pregnancy to avert her death or for which a delay will create serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of major bodily function,” according to the legislation.
A heartbeat typically becomes detectable between six and nine weeks of gestation. Many women do not know they are pregnant at six weeks.
“This was the first chance in 25 years that I had to go on record and say I disagree with abortion,” DeBerry also said, according to the Tennessean.
Two other Tennessee Democrats, Rep. John Mark Windle and Rep. Joe Towns also voted in favor of the bill, the Tennessean reported.
No Democrats have attacked DeBerry for his vote supporting the bill, according to the Democratic representative.

The parents of 11-year-old Desmond Napoles, a so-called “drag kid” known as “Desmond is Amazing,” have been investigated by authorities for alleged child abuse, confirmed mother Wendy Napoles via Instagram on Saturday.
As reported by The Daily Wire in December, Desmond, dressed in full drag, danced in a sexually suggestive manner on stage at a New York City-based gay bar called 3 Dollar Bill. As Desmond took off his jacket, howling men in the audience handed him dollar bills, as one might see at a strip club. The Daily Wire confirmed the existence of the disturbing “performance” but has chosen not to link to the exploitative footage.
Since the incident, authorities have been asked by concerned citizens to investigate the family for abuse. According to Life Site News, “Child Protective Services (CPS) investigated Desmond’s family, as did the New York City Administration for Child Services (ACS), the New York Police Department (NYPD), the Child Advocacy Center, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Department of Labor, and the District Attorney’s Office.”
The boy’s mother said in a post that authorities have claimed the abuse allegations are “unfounded.” Wendy evidenced this with screenshots of such determinations via social media.
“We have been accused of child abuse, exploitation & maltreatment to the point that we have been backed into a corner trying to defend ourselves,” she said, fashioning herself the victim. “We have been under a microscope since early December.
