I would like to start off by thanking our awesome DAUGHN for all of the coverage of the impeachment saga this week, and many other amazing posts. She is plum tuckered out, I have no doubt, so I’m doing this one for her!
This is our BEST WEEK EVER, despite all the hubbub and despite significant posting moving over to the U Tree. I credit DAUGHN and DEP PAT with drawing in the crowd, not to mention of course FLEP’S ROUNDUPS, which bring in huge numbers of newsreaders (I could call them lurkers, but that’s not giving credit where credit is due. FLEP IS THE NEWS NOW.
Bravo also to bakocarl taking over the Sunday slot and doing an amazing job on that first post! And I have to say somewhat selfishly that I am enjoying chatting with T3 on the boards now, so it’s a win-win IMO. We are gonna do some amazing things out in the trenches.
Thanks also to Wheatie for those “Wheatie Trees” that I quite frankly need to get by. After a rough week, there is nothing better.

Today is also a special day. Exactly 56 years ago today, a great President – JFK – was taken from us in a cowardly crime.
The victim was then lauded by his own killers, while the fake news media likewise pretended to honor him. The fake news media obfuscated the crime, by pooh-poohing all fruitful theories of the assassination, hiding responsibility and aiding the culprits. Any mention of the Soviets or communists was met with scare tactics, which easily played into previous “duck and cover” nuclear war exercises and prior media fear-mongering on behalf of the Soviets and the American communist infiltration. Any mention of the CIA or domestic government operations was met with derision and disbelief. The fake news media made SURE that the crime was never solved.
It’s rather amazing what 56 years will do.

My earliest memory of politics was in 1964. My father despised LBJ and so put up giant 4 ft high letters on our roof…GOLDWATER. Spray painted them gold, and put spotlights on them for night time.
One of my last moments with him was helping him fill out his ballot to vote for Trump. He passed away a few weeks after the election, and if I had $1 for every time I’ve said “Man, I wish Dad was alive to see/hear President Trump!” I’d have my mortgage paid off by now.
I could share so many tidbits of wisdom my father instilled in me about our government and politics, he KNEW. He’d have LOVED Q, so I will carry on his legacy and never give up.
Katie – a bittersweet tale for sure 💖💖 Dad is tight-lipped about his votes, but I suspect he pulled the lever for Trump, not Hell-ery. I hope he lives long enough (94) to do so again.

I understand your thinking on this Steve and I applaud your conclusion.
Me, too – Steve….
Since I know that you are a committed Christian, I think you must have misunderstood me, or you’d not be applauding my conclusion (or third possibility, that you and I don’t understand Christianity the same way).
I’m stating, flat out, that having someone go to heaven rather than hell, simply because they reached a state of grace at the moment of death, and without regard for the huge amounts of evil and suffering they may have caused, is UNJUST AS CAN BE. Yet so far as I can figure out, that is exactly what (most if not all) Christians believe can, and SHOULD, happen under those circumstances.
This is a very interesting conundrum, and IMO leads to interesting implications about HOW God could possibly resolve such things, what the nature of “heaven” actually is, etc. There are some hints in Christ’s statements about heaven and who gets in, and he uses very interesting metaphors in this regard.
IMO, the “faith” that people then implement in this respect is a sliding scale between simply accepting, and coming up with some kind of personal gnostic interpretation of scripture that leaves one momentarily satisfied. I’m more in the latter camp.
To state my thinking as a discrete example based on a loose metaphor, the hardy sinner who repents at the last second in the portions of the multiverse WE experience has a long journey ahead in the portions THEY experience. Another way of saying that I trust Christ’s “rich man paradox” is, in fact, resolvable, but not necessarily in ways that WE might see it unfold.
Is that a cop-out? Maybe. But I believe that peace and justice are attainable, and increasingly so in the universe that I am experiencing and have experienced. Indeed, the rather strange way that this universe gives me – OVER AND OVER – the opportunity to more easily confess my sins and resolve them, seems a bit like a gentle hint at what is both possible and – in my experience – REAL.
I choose to follow Christ without condition on who or what he is, no matter what others may choose, or require for Christianity as they define it. I have found it to be an extremely fruitful approach to satisfaction with what little I know about the otherwise unknown. He is my pointer to the Word of God.

I applaud your view because it shows that you have a stronger grasp of the outrageous nature of the doctrine of grace than 99.99% of those adhering to the tenants of Christianity.
For myself, it would seem that one must accept the complete depravity of all humans (the heart being desperately wicked, as written in Jeremiah), and in the complete goodness of God (willing that no man should perish), before you could even start to accept such a doctrine.
The Catholic teaching on purgatory to some degree may be more comforting to those that viscerally reject the idea of a “free pass’ given for a death bed confession.

From what I’ve seen, atheists in predominantly-Christian areas fall into two camps:
The ones who want it to be true: In many cases these are former Christians who lost their faith, and lost any ability to believe in the existence of a god. They found Christianity greatly comforting, but simply cannot believe it is true any more. They wish they could, but they can’t.
Most atheists who were never Christians look at issues such as I raised, and say, “Because of things like this, I don’t even want it to be true.”
Years ago I knew a man that thought it would be great sport to use reason to talk me out of being a Christian. He had the highest IQ of anyone I’ve ever met.
And he spent his childhood desperately praying to God to invade the disfunction that was his family life. Which means he had a personal experience of disappointment coloring his perspective.
He would pose hard questions. I would offer the best answers I could come up with. But one day I said something that changed his mind. I don’t remember the exact words. In the moment, my words carried a genuineness that would not translate well online but it opened him up to the idea that there could be some “there” there, after all.
He was bragging that he’d got away with it . The arrogance! He deserved to fry

2. President Trump made Rudy his CYBER CZAR before he took office.

4. Derek Harvey, the top Middle East advisor on the NSC, went from under General Flynn ==> fired under McMasters ==> staff of Devin Nunes.

It was so he could eavesdrop on his enemies without them knowing. That room is an honest to God true echo chamber, and you stand in that spot, and you can hear conversations from all over the room. It’s true. I’ve done it. Trump is doing exactly the same thing with electronic communications, and the deep staters do not want to believe that the data collection could happen to them.
We are NOT losing. Not at all. VSG is rooting out the rot away from the spotlight. Put a spotlight on it and the cockroaches will scatter. Same with rats. They are nocturnal. This is why the court motions are still sealed until the judiciary is stacked. If what’s been going on behind the scenes is exposed or broadcast (as we are accustomed to happening with previous administrations) the stupid are going to get smart.

And let us also consider judge Rudy Contreras, friend of Peter Strozk, who immediately after accepting Mike Flynn’s guilty plea recused himself from Flynn’s case for undisclosed reasons. Contreras was also a FISA judge, and when judge Sullivan grants Flynn’s motion for Brady material indicating the scope of the government’s efforts against Flynn, we are going to learn that Flynn was targeted before PDJT announced his intention to run for President. Indeed, we are likely to learn that there was a FISA on Mike Flynn long before PDJT announced, and oh, by the way, I believe Contreras approved the FISA on Mike Flynn in addition to accepting Flynn’s guilty plea.
That “primrose path” of a well-crafted lie seems to be scaring the HELL out of Preening Preet, now Blinking Preet. I’m wondering how far up the chain these people KNEW, HEARD, or SUSPECTED that this was a PLOT.

Well, specifically as to the 702 searches, the existing legislation provides procedures designed to protect the 4th Amendment rights of US citizens. Once Adm Rogers got a whiff of what was happening, he shut down contractor searches, initiated an audit, and when the preliminary results arrived he shut down all 702 searches. While all this was happening the guy who certified the compliance report resigned the day after he signed it so he could get out before the audit results were finalized. Months later Collyier’s opinion comes along allowing certain new safeguards and detailing the fact that a whole lot of people violated the existing procedures, resulting in violations of the 4th Amendment rights of a whole lot of citizens.
Roberts is supposed to oversee this FISA crap. What exactly is someone assigned to oversee supposed to do when reports surface of a whole bunch of illegal activities?
And if the miscreants didn’t follow the previous rules, what good would it do to get our Congressmen to write new ones?
Imagine you are a CFO and your internal auditors tell you they have uncovered a bunch of fraud in one of your operating subsidiaries. You don’t just change the procedures going forward and hope the thieves in the operating subsidiary will adhere to the new process.

Roberts oversight of FISA is meaningless…IF Robert’s won’t take ACTION to enforce laws…at a minimum send information to FIB / DOJ to pursue.

The FISC system is opaque. ROBERTS may have already RENDERED DECISIONS that we KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. This is a bit different from what Ed Timperlake is saying. What Timperlake is saying is – I AGREE – not enough.
Timperlake makes his argument relying on a kind of “hand-wave” about Roberts being solely responsible, yada yada yada. If that is just the case, then it would appear that Big T is absolutely correct – just because he has administrative responsibility doesn’t mean he would have to recuse – far from it!
The question is – DOES HE HAVE MATERIAL CONNECTION TO ANY DECISION ABOUT FISA ABUSE?
It seems very likely that SOME secret proceedings of FISC have already dealt with FISA abuse, with Roberts having either made or taken part in the final decision. Not all impeachment proceedings have to be public – as IDIOT SCHIFF just demonstrated. CLASSIFIED HEARINGS could take place regarding the earlier SHAM impeachment, as part of Trump’s defense – and in particular the FISA ABUSE.
If the Senate Republicans insist on calling Chief Justice Roberts AS A MATERIAL WITNESS in closed sessions about FISC, then the issue is forced.

If the fraud is as widespread and systemic as Episode #70 suggests, there isn’t going to be a technical fix in time for the 2020 elections.
There may in fact be only one solution: An American grassroots effort on a scale never before seen to demand that the 2020 election be by paper ballot, counted manually, in all 50 states.
Well, there’s the problem of the local county Elections Commissioner, or whatever title these folks go by… and there are more than 50, there are thousands.
A retiring congress critter told me the machines can ‘flip’ about 5% of the votes… which may be why we hear so much from the slime media about a ‘close’ race ALL the time, whether it’s for dog catcher or president. Where so much fraud comes in is States that allow voter registration by internet. Can you imagine the fraud there? Then of course, there’s the votes by dead people, and the votes by same person in different states (states don’t cross-reference voters, in facts DMV didn’t do so with drivers until a couple of years ago…………. and peeps think we are so up-to-date, barely out of the caves actually). Then there’s the matter of non-citizens being able to vote, duplicate places.
Only thing that can BEAT DIMs fraud is HUGE turnout… which we did not get in 2018, of course. Scott Presler has written the book on that, and I haven’t a clue why others aren’t following his method.
May be simplistic, but one possible way to solve the “more votes than registered voters” is to do what we do in our large POA association for elections…paper ballots is the way to go…. something like this…
Each voting precinct is given the number of ballots equal to the number of registered voters…no more.
Each ballot is numbered.
Each voter is assigned a ballot number.
After voting, the ballot number is compared to the voter number and, if correct, is crossed off and counted. Once a name is crossed off they cannot get another ballot.
There could be ballot control/verification panels, both parties, immediately verifying the vote, so it does not have to take days to determine. People from both parties have to sign off on the authentication.
Obviously this a very simplistic way…lots of safeguards needed, but you get the general idea,. Control the number of paper ballots and you control a lot of the fraud.
IMO, there are too many ballots issued that mysteriously disappear or show up when needed and that has to be the first control. Multiple registrations has to be solved (personally I like the old fashion method of a finger dipped in red ink after voting!)
Hopefully, there are serious efforts to put into place a much better system and make our votes truly mean something again.

Yes. I let it stay up a bit longer as a strategic move, to get validation (thank you for giving it to me). There are some differences, but probably not enough to justify keeping it up.
I’m not certain whether this is a “true paywall” or a “you have X per month, free to the public” paywall. That makes some difference. The WSJ article was an exclusive for their paying customers, and they were featuring it. It was a bigger deal.
So NOW I ask that question. Is this an exclusive, or is this a kind of trivial paywall? Doesn’t really matter – I’ll take it down anyway – but good to know.
Next, there are LEGAL ANGLES with the WSJ publication which were more severe than the NYT. There were also TIMING ANGLES with the WSJ publication which were more severe than the NYT. All of that stuff is in the realm of the CA3 scandal which very few people know the full dimensions of. There is no need to know that stuff – just accept that I was far more alarmed by THAT CASE than by this case, for reasons that you may never know about. I suspect that CA3 will never become public.
Some of that was impacted by ARTICLE versus COMMENT. You can see that, right? Big difference.
Now – why did I delay until YOU provided validation?
One of the RISKS of this whole thing is my credibility. There are people who are DESPERATE to ruin the credibility of my testimony. Making me seem “paranoid schiziphrenic” is one of the best paths to invalidating my testimony. So if I act too hastily on actions like that, it seems a bit paranoid. YES, I exercise a lot of “paranoia / situational awareness” anyway, without fear. BUT it’s nice to rein that in sometimes and let others take the lead. So I waited to see if any other authors would catch the dilemma.

My read of this is that is was written to protect Joe Biden.
If Trump is impeached for “withholding” aid from Ukraine to get something, then they have nailed Joe Biden for doing the exact same thing in 2016.
The difference is, the Senate won’t convict Trump, his voters won’t desert him over it, because we know it’s all bullshit. But what Biden did is provably criminal, and he goes to prison.

There’s a lot of reasons why, one of which is declining sales, which would rise if they had a more tasteful product, but there it is.
At least one model balked at being on a catwalk with a trans person. They also don’t want plus sized models around, and, sad to say, a good percentage of the market for their wares are not sized 0-4 sticks. I mean, their foundation garments aren’t made big enough for some of us who are not in plus sizes, but would never be accused of being anorexics. They could at least try to reflect reality, but no. Just add to the insecurity we American girls have about our bodies because they aren’t what is seen in magazines.
Really, their bra fitters are the best trained out there, but it’s a brand whose time is past.

it’s always amazing to me when i find a sweater or blouse I like, they rarely have it in my size but there’s always 3 or 4 of the extra small and at least 2 extra large left—the middle sizes–sold out…ya think someone would recognize what ends up on the clearance racks are the sizes NO ONE wears…
And their stuff runs small, too. Even when I was wearing 10-12 in my 20s, I had to order a size up. And their clothes were better looking then. Still couldn’t wear their foundations, though. VS does not think of well endowed girls as their target market.

And the shapes…it just is not healthy. There’s a reason that the garment industry and the breast cancer people all advocate for correct sizing in foundations. The lymphatic system is less likely to get clogged. If they ever told the whole truth about foundations and disease, they’d sued into oblivion. But telling the world to wear the chest corsets for less than 12 hours a day would cost the cancer industry a lot of money.
Not to mention the OTC pain killers for headaches and backaches.
Amazing how ditching the bra after I retired, cured my headaches and neck pain. I only wear one when in public now and the neck/back pain promptly returns the next day if I am out for an extended period of time.
Yeah, I had an advantage being a swimmer and lifeguard in my teen years. The muscles and ligaments actually developed. Once I was out of an office setting, and could limit my bra wearing, it did not take much to tone those muscles back up.
And the back and shoulder pain, that’s from something else entirely.
Never liked their clothing – thought it was cheaply made.
But oh yes, loved pretty underwear and loungewear.
Years, and years, of hot pink boxes under the Christmas tree.
When I started dating Big T, he has 4 daughters — I was in hog heaven.

Ladies, I am not a “big girl” at all, and they could NEVER properly fit me. Simple 34C is what I wear, and not one of their bras ever fit, even in that size. They were always trying to get me into a 30DD or some dumbass thing, that didn’t fit AT ALL.

I think the Veteran Suicide Rate is not included in this study – they keep their own records – at least that has been my experience, Mom – last horrific stat was 22 suicides per day among Veterans – not sure what year that was recorded – PT mentioned (in one of his speeches) he was going to look into Veteran Suicides.
As far as Veterans are concerned – they are unique – many factors go into that decision – it used to be lack of jobs – difficulty in adjusting to civilian life – flashbacks and dreams – medications – frustration from not getting better – there are lots of studies – and groups who allegedly assist them – PTSD is a real problem, too – you do not have to be a veteran to suffer from PTSD.

Using something very, very hard as aggregate in the concrete (instead of ordinary sand or gravel) would work wonders. Corundum dust, maybe?

Note that ordinary sand is largely quartz, which comes in at 7 (out of 10) on the Mohs scale. There’s little trouble cutting through that (provided power is available) so we would need something even harder.
Granite Dust also comes in at a 7 on Mohs but I swear Quartz eats my sawblades faster.
Quartz is a major constituent of granite (it also contains feldspar [and there are multiple varieties of feldspar], plus possibly other goodies), so I imagine that they quoted the hardest stuff in the granite dust. Meanwhile your saw blade is actually encountering less quartz than it would be if it were cutting pure quartz.
That’s my semi-educated guess, at any rate, as to why you see a difference.

I have a Lahka Red Granite, from north of India, known as the hardest granite in the world, for a desk. Almost same thing as quartz. incredibly difficult to cut with our diamond blades and wet saws.

A thin wire, coiled or spring-shaped, would separate inside the concrete, become loose and catch in the sawblade teeth, and cause the saw to jerk and jitter back and forth and make cutting slower. As soon as the sawblade gets free from one batch of springwire, it cuts into another. The springy limpness of the wire makes it difficult to saw.
Does this type of material exist and is it inexpensive? I don’t know. Fisher Sand and Gravel could discover if it’s possible before the Army Corps of Engineers could tie its shoes.
What about the wonder-material carbon nanotubes? Or perhaps a liquid, say, tree-sap that would foul the blades to the point they were useless, whether sharp or not?

You know – one thing I wonder about would be a kind of concrete made out of GRANITE GRAVEL and STEEL. I’ll bet that stuff would be very hard to cut through. Or, to go cheaper, granite gravel concrete inside the steel posts. If the granite gravel were tougher than rebar, it might be cheaper.

The Fifth Amendment privilege prohibits the government from coercing a confession or forcing a suspect to lead police to incriminating evidence. Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained 35 pages of communications between former FBI counterintelligence chief Peter Strzok and his paramour FBI lawyer Lisa Page that shows the lawyer representing Hillary Clinton’s aides met with senior FBI officials and was given special treatment.
The FBI, under Christopher Wray’s directorship, is currently slow-rolling the release of FOIA documents to Judicial Watch and will continue producing requested records through 2021.
Hillary Clinton’s lawyer Beth Wilkinson was given carte blanche by FBI officials who were investigating Hillary Clinton’s private server and they even discussed holding “discreet” meetings with her so the press wouldn’t be tipped off — the FBI even gave Wilkinson a “heads up” on pending press articles.
“We also discussed making sure that this is done [meeting] in a secure location in a discreet way; she will work with [redacted] and the FBI team on that as well but I said that we will make sure that it happens in a high quality way.” James Baker said in a March 2016 email regarding a meeting with Beth Wilkinson.

Two March 2016 emails show then-FBI General Counsel James Baker and then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe had discussed meeting with attorney Beth Wilkinson, who was representing Clinton aides Cheryl Mills, Heather Samuelson, Jake Sullivan and Philippe Reines. The FBI officials discussed holding “discreet” meetings with Wilkinson in secure locations that were set up to avoid any “stakeouts” by the press. (In a separate Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said that he was “dumbfounded” that Cheryl Mills had been given immunity and was allowed to accompany former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to her FBI interview.
In an email exchange with Deputy Assistant Director in the Counterintelligence Division Jonathan Moffa, Strzok discusses Clinton aides’ laptops, and that Wilkinson said that the laptops in the FBI’s possession did not contain Clinton’s 60,000 emails. On March 1, 2016 an unidentified official from the FBI Office of General Counsel asks Baker if he’d had a chance to speak with Wilkinson, noting “CES [Counterespionage Section] wants to reach out to discuss scheduling additional interviews but wanted some feedback from you first.” Baker replies, “Just did… She appreciated the heads up about the pending press articles. She wants to meet with the DD [Deputy Director] but can only meet on the weekends right now. I will check his availability tomorrow.”
In a follow-up email sent only to Strzok, Baker writes, “She understands that it needs to be in a SCIF [Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility]. She seems more comfortable with NYFO [New York Field Office], but I think would be open to WFO [Washington Field Office] if she can get in and out in a discreet manner (i.e., no chance of a press stakeout or too many people in the office seeing them and having awareness of what is going on). Is there an offsite somewhere in the DC area that might be better? If so, don’t tell me where it is.”
FBI officials also didn’t care that Hillary Clinton’s 60,000 emails were on the personal laptops of Cheryl Mills (Hillary’s aide-turned-lawyer who received immunity) and Heather Samuelson.
So Hillary Clinton’s aides and lawyers were given special treatment by the same FBI that was conducting pre-dawn door-busting raids on President Trump’s associates and lawyers.
