When I was very young, about 7-8, my friend who lived next door had a brother who was a real jerk. One day, while she and I played, he came over, whipped it out, and peed on our game. I ran home crying.
My Dad told me to go back, pick up whatever I could find, and hit him with it. I went, found a rock, and did it. Right in the head.
When his mom called, my Dad told her what had happened and essentially to get bent.
The next time he was mean and I ran home crying, Dad patiently told me again, go back, pick something up, and hit him. This time, it was a barbecue fork to the head. And my Dad defended my actions to his mother, again.

I have often wondered if she sat in that same seat every night, and he had seen her there several times.
It always appeared to me that he was sitting there in the seat behind as though he was waiting for her and planning that stabbing attack. Watching the video, when she sat down, he kind of shifted around in his seat a bit – like he was getting ready to do what he had been planning to do. He then pulled out his knife, stood up, and did it. This was all very quickly after she sat down.
Even afterwards, as he walked on through the car, he was saying that he killed that white girl…like he had been planning it for some time.
If that is the case, it obviously shows intention and pre-planning to a level that totally rules out “incompetence.”
Had I been on this case I would have examined videos from days prior to see if he was on that train the same time she was, and what his actions were.

COMMENTARY FOR ROMANS 5:17
The happy effects of justification through faith in the righteousness of Christ. (1-5) That we are reconciled by his blood. (6-11) The fall of Adam brought all mankind into sin and death. (12-14) The grace of God, through the righteousness of Christ, has more power to bring salvation, than Adam’s sin had to bring misery, (15-19) as grace did superabound. (20,21)
15-19 Through one man’s offence, all mankind are exposed to eternal condemnation. But the grace and mercy of God, and the free gift of righteousness and salvation, are through Jesus Christ, as man: yet the Lord from heaven has brought the multitude of believers into a more safe and exalted state than that from which they fell in Adam. This free gift did not place them anew in a state of trial, but fixed them in a state of justification, as Adam would have been placed, had he stood. Notwithstanding the differences, there is a striking similarity. As by the offence of one, sin and death prevailed to the condemnation of all men, so by the righteousness of one, grace prevailed to the justification of all related to Christ by faith. Through the grace of God, the gift by grace has abounded to many through Christ; yet multitudes choose to remain under the dominion of sin and death, rather than to apply for the blessings of the reign of grace. But Christ will in nowise cast out any who are willing to come to him.
20,21 By Christ and his righteousness, we have more and greater privileges than we lost by the offence of Adam. The moral law showed that many thoughts, tempers, words, and actions, were sinful, thus transgressions were multiplied. Not making sin to abound the more, but discovering the sinfulness of it, even as the letting in a clearer light into a room, discovers the dust and filth which were there before, but were not seen. The sin of Adam, and the effect of corruption in us, are the abounding of that offence which appeared on the entrance of the law. And the terrors of the law make gospel comforts the more sweet. Thus God the Holy Spirit has, by the blessed apostle, delivered to us a most important truth, full of consolation, suited to our need as sinners. Whatever one may have above another, every man is a sinner against God, stands condemned by the law, and needs pardon. A righteousness that is to justify cannot be made up of a mixture of sin and holiness. There can be no title to an eternal reward without a pure and spotless righteousness: let us look for it, even to the righteousness of Christ.

If the media would stop egging them on it would help, but the media is corrupt.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is reviving an idea to end the current Senate parliamentarian’s blockade on the Save America Act election integrity law: enact a term limit for the position.
Blackburn told Just the News on Tuesday her legislation from a year ago to set term limits for the parliamentarian was gaining renewed steam as the GOP voter base stews over the chamber’s inability to pass President Donald Trump’s signature election law, imposing voter ID in citizenship checks.
“Now, when it comes to the parliamentarian, last year you had Senators Tuberville, Marshall, and I who filed a bill that called for term limits on the parliamentarian. And this is a discussion that has popped back up because of some of the decisions of the parliamentarian,” Blackburn told the Just the News, No Noise television show.
“I think it’s appropriate to term limit the parliamentarian,” she added. “You know, you have different positions, different assigned, and different offices that are term limited, whether it’s serving as on the Fed, or whether it’s serving on certain commissions, or in certain appointments, and we think it’s appropriate that the parliamentarian be someone that is term limited also.”
As Trump has pressed Senate Majority Leader John Thune to fire Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough, Blackburn said more senators have rallied around the idea of her legislation.
“I can assure you in the last few days this is something that we have heard a lot about,” she said. “People are beginning to say, you know, that idea that you had about term limiting the parliamentarian, that is a pretty good idea. So, we’ll see what happens.”

Solas is back from the vet clinic. Another bolus of fluids. Another injection of the medicine to stop vomiting. A dose of a medicine to calm him down. Physical exam. Blood work.
The results of the physical exam and the bloodwork:
Solas is in good shape physically. Not losing weight. Bright and interactive with staff. Pancreas area is not inflamed; he does not flinch when the area is externally palpated. These are good signs.
Bloodwork: Usual panels are all normal (blood cells; liver enzymes, etc.)
Pancreas panel; The numbers have come down since the very high level of last Thursday. This is a very good sign.
Solas does not have to go to the emergency vet hospital today. Thank God.
The vet thinks that what happened this morning with the little guy is the pancreatitis trying to “make a comeback.” This can happen. So Solas isn’t out of the woods completely yet. But the pancreas numbers coming down is encouraging. I’m still to watch him closely. Fingers are still crossed.

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Hi guys,
My sister-in-law Sarah called a while back to let us know that my dad, Bill Stoddard, had passed away. Sarah, her daughter Cassie, the youngest grandchild, & Sarah’s mother Cynthia were in the room when he passed, 3 generations (mirroring the 3 generations that were with my mom when she passed).
Perhaps fittingly my daughter, Clarissa, & her daughter Lillian were with me in the room when I took the call. The three of us were gathered in the hospital conference room just last year when my mom passed too.
We are all trying to adjust as best as possible. Please think of my family & pray for us as the Lord leads as we tackle the various challenges of the coming days.
Sarah said that there was a sleepover in my dad’s room last night. Earlier today Sarah had sent out a picture of her daughter Cassie at Dad’s bedside with her guitar “Sing him straight to Heaven, Cassie” & when I saw how small my dad was I just burst into tears. His physical decline was rapid & shocking over the last few weeks, but it is still not easy to have him go. Thankfully we know he is with the Lord & in that we can rejoice… 💔

William Ellsworth Stoddard, Bill, age 87, went home to be with the Lord June 10, 2026. He was a longtime resident of Dearborn, Michigan but spent the last few months of his life being lovingly cared for in the Brighton, Michigan lakeside home of his son Mike and daughter-in-law Sarah where he died.
Bill was the only son of Elzine Munger Stoddard and Vivian Beatrice (nee Thompson) Stoddard. He was the widower of his beloved wife Elaine Elizabeth (nee Koski but born Baby Girl Bluemly prior to her adoption) Stoddard, who preceded him into glory May 16, 2025. Bill and Elaine shared a remarkable seven-decade love story and celebrated 63 years of marriage April 21, 2025. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their three children: Valerie Lynn (Michael) Curren, Curtis Andrew (Dawn) Stoddard, and Michael Jon (Sarah) Stoddard. Bill was a strong and loving grandfather of 14: Nathaniel Ellsworth (Tara nee Jones) Curren, Brandon Emmanuel Curren, Josiah Stoddard (Rose nee Ligenza) Curren, Clarissa Chantelle nee Curren (Marshall) Riddell, Ashley Noelle nee Stoddard (Travis) Farasyn, Zachary Andrew (Sarah nee White) Stoddard, Madison nee Marshall (Daniel) Tsubota, Brooke Marshall, Caleb (Hannah nee Sink) Marshall, Veronica Adalia nee Stoddard (Joel) Smith, Vanessa Haley Elizabeth nee Stoddard (Bryson) MARRIED NAME, Isaiah William Stoddard, Lydia Eileen Stoddard, and Cassandra Spring Stoddard; and great-grandfather of 14: Lilah Evelyn Curren, Finley Anne Curren, Lillian Ellsworth Riddell, Easton Andrew Farasyn, Lacee Jenkins, David Jenkins, Elise Jenkins, Paisley Jenkins, Adler Tsubota, Isla Tsubota, Shay Tsubota, Gianna Marshall, Charlotte Adayla Smith, and Juliette Rose Smith. There are also 3 more great-grand children due to be born in the Fall months of 2026. Several great-grandchildren have also gone to the Lord before drawing breath in this world and are surely joyfully await meeting Bill in Heaven. Bill is survived by his sister Patricia Kay nee Stoddard Armstrong, though preceded in death by his brother-in-law Charles Willis Armstrong. Bill is also survived by his nieces Jacqueline Joy nee Armstrong (Barry) Klein and Rebecca Rae nee Armstrong (Doug) Monroe and their children and grandchildren.
In childhood and into his teen years Bill was very active in his local Detroit Boy Scout Troop, even attaining the laudable rank of Eagle Scout. On the occasion of Bill’s 50th birthday his old scout master, John Dutton, gifted him with the record of his troop’s activities in an historic wooden bound scrapbook, a treasured memento. Some of his other those Scouts became lifelong friends including members of the beloved New Years Eve Gang, a group of near lifelong friends that shared trips to a friend’s farm, tours, and celebratory gatherings over many decades.
Bill grew up in the city of Detroit, Michigan and strongly identified with his High School, the now shuttered Cooley High School, where he and Elaine met and fell in love. The high school mascot of a Cardinal would be an emblem they both cherished and even was a surname in Bill’s lineage being his paternal grandmother’s maiden name. Bill was involved in leadership at Cooley including being elected his class president. Sports figured largely in Bill’s personal and family life. He played in church leagues as well as in school and was a vocal and avid fan in many arenas. He also played football for the Cooley Cardinals and was able to continue his football career into his Albion College years, where he was also elected president of his Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity. Bill obtained a liberal arts degree at Albion, an engineering degree at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and an MBA in the inaugural graduating class of the University of Michigan Dearborn as a young husband. He was a lifelong Michigan fan and was blessed to witness U of M’s Men’s Basketball National Championship while getting medical attention on campus at the U of M hospital earlier this year.
Bill and his sister Pat were blessed to spend Summers at their family Cottage in Arbutus Beach near Otsego Lake in Gaylord, Michigan. They were surrounded by relatives on both sides of their family during those idyllic childhood and teen years. Later in his grand-parenting and even great-grand-parenting seasons Bill presided as the patriarch of the extended family clan and he created many memorable events with all of his descendants including river rafting, trips to the hunting camp, walks in the woods, berry picking, spiritual enrichment & so much more.
Bill was blessed to have access to a one room tar paper hunting shack with a hand pump and outhouse that is lovingly called The Shack in the Stoddard clan. This makeshift hunting camp was created by Bill’s father, certain friends, and some older relatives and his been in the family for nearly a century now. Bill grew up with hunting in his blood with rifle deer season being the culmination of hopes and dreams. With the addition of his son-in-law Michael Curren bow hunting was brought into Bill’s domain and hunting season expanded from two weeks to three months. This love for hunting was passed down through the family and hunting camp now includes an additional nearby building called by prior owners The Luzerne Hilton. Bill was overjoyed to have his sons, grandsons, and even some granddaughters become hunters and lovers of Michigan’s North Woods. There are so many stories that could be told about antics Up North and Bill was one of the best story tellers out there.
Bill’s Christian walk became central to his existence as a young married man. He had grown up in a traditional denomination at Calvary United Methodist Church that was across the street from Cooley High School. Bill and Elaine got involved in a number of prayer groups and new ministries like Faith At Work beginning in their Calvary years. A dear church friend invited Bill and Elaine to visit a different church, Bethesda Missionary Temple, for an event and shortly thereafter the Holy Spirit woke Bill in the middle of the night and told him to go to Bethesda with his family and that is exactly what he did. Bill and Elaine became very involved at Bethesda, with their sons attending Bethesda School, and in various roles as Deacons, Elders, and on Church Council. In later years they had a Nursing Home Ministry and also worked in Ex-Con ministry with Gateway to Glory where Bill was a mentor to a number of men over quite a few years. And Bill had worked in prison ministry at Jackson Prison as well as in outreach to the homeless at the Detroit Rescue Mission. When Bill was enabled to take early retirement at age 55 from his 30 year career at Ford Motor Company, where he had been a Senior Purchasing Agent in the Engine division, he still had both stamina and the means to throw himself into ministry endeavors. He became an avid student of the Bible and developed a literature ministry where he passed out Christian works to many. As life began winding down, even as he cared for Elaine, Bill was faithful in his “Sidewalk Angels” chalked Bible verses on his property to bless passers by with God’s Word. He met a number of people and even had sweet fellowship in his neighborhood due to his scriptural offerings. God’s Word will not return void.
Elaine was very active in Bethesda’s choir and Bill was miraculously enabled to pass muster as a choir member in time for Bethesda’s Bicentennial trip to England in the mid 1970s. Perhaps it is fitting that Bill’s passing has come as our nation is celebrating its 250th year. Bill’s life is a strong reflection of the complex past that has woven our country together. His direct ancestor, John Stoddard of Wethersfield, Connecticut came to these shores in the mid 1600s during the Colonial era. He and his descendants founded both Wethersfield and Litchfield, Connecticut. Another direct ancestor, Orringh/Orange Stoddard was present at the founding of this country, being part of the Lexington Alarm that along with Paul Revere warned the colonists that the British were coming. Orringh served multiple times during the Revolutionary War and even has a battle report letter he wrote in George Washington’s archived papers. This family line moved from Massachusetts to New York and later to Michigan. Bill’s paternal grandmother was descended from both French Canadians and rumored Native Americans. Both of Bill’s mother’s parents were the first generation born in America from immigrants from the British Isles, England and Ireland. Bill is also a direct descendant from multiple Mayflower passengers. Much of America’s variegated background is literally written in Bill’s blood. In fact his grandfather, with whom he shared his name, was likely named for the first martyr of the Union at the outset of the Civil War.
Bill’s mortal remains will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord, Michigan alongside Elaine and near to many family members, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bill’s spirit will be forever free and rejoicing in the Presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Then, when that person, the original opponent to the violence is met with brutal isolation and retaliation, a first follower surfaces.
The first follower is the individual who stands up in anger against the retaliation they have witnessed against the singular voice.
This is the key moment when you can guarantee something is about to change.The crowd watches the first follower, only at this very consequential inflection point -having watched the previous retaliation- the crowd are now invested emotionally in the outcome of what happens to the ‘first follower.’
The crowd will not accept the same outcome for the first follower. They are in a different mindset, a different frame of mind. Perspectives are completely different in this phase.
Events in Europe are at the extreme side of the first follower phase. However, events in the United States are not far behind. In fact, the reason we are watching events in Europe with such deliberate attention is entirely because our proximity to the violence at hand is not determined by miles; rather, it is determined by mindset.

I don’t know, and clearly he didn’t say. I think it may have been meant as a morale booster, a rallying cry or encouragement of sorts.
At Tiananmen Square, you could say the (tragically) unknown man who stood in front of the column of tanks was the first person. Unfortunately, the first follower is likewise unknown, probably because there wasn’t one.
Regarding the current insanity taking place in England and the UK and by extension europe generally, I’d choose Tommy Robinson as the first person standing up in opposition to the violence.

The “first person” phenomenon is about the actions of individuals whose courageous stands inspire others to also take a stand before the rest of the people do—first one individual, then the one who follows that person. It’s not about groups of people who start to take action.
People are fed up with illegal aliens and are acting in retaliation for the violence perpetrated by them and the failures of their government. But there was no clear-cut initial person, as in your Tiananmen Square example, nor has there been a person standing up for that person, who served as a catalyst for the crowd to act.

Seems like the protesting for Karmelo Anthony only occurred yesterday. (knock on wood) There were not many present in the parking lot. Lots of the pics are taken close up…..to make it look worse. Hopefully, this was such a blatant crime, they couldn’t make it into a race crime. They tried hard. I think the media did not show up in force which kept the situation from escalating. I think if he’d rec’d a longer jail time punishment, like 99 yrs, the protesters would have had something to protest. One day there was a religious group out there under a tent offering refreshments and prayers. I was impressed. All of my comments come only from watching coverage.

I took Solas to the emergency vet hospital a little while ago. He was throwing up again. Not supposed to happen after an injection of Cerenia. His regular vet clinic said to take the little guy to the vet ER.
I did get the Health Friday post scheduled for this week before Solas started having symptoms again.
Poor little guy.
Solas was admitted to the emergency vet hospital. 24-48 hour stay. Fingers crossed.

A fisherman reeled in a great white shark on Nantucket’s south shore on Sunday, as dozens of people gathered on the beach to watch and record the spectacle.
Elliot Sudal has been fishing for sandbar sharks and other species during the summers for more than a decade. On Sunday, he was out fishing on the south shore with his apprentice, Stone Fornes, and fellow angler Nathan Skerritt, when they realized they had a big one on the line. The Current caught up with Sudal on Monday to ask about the catch that has since made headlines in Boston and beyond.
Q: What were you fishing for?
A: We were just out testing the waters, conditions looked great, just wanted to see if anything was around. Everything has been showing up earlier the last few years, sandbar sharks, duskys, sand tigers, roughtail rays. The water’s still in the 50s, but they’re here.
Q: What are the rules for this type of fishing?
A: That was the first white I’ve hooked in 13 years on Nantucket. Caught 1000-plus sandbars and hundreds of duskys off the beach, tagged most of them along the way. By no means was targeting that white, you can’t control what picks up your bait. I posted that video because I feel like I did everything right in that situation. Shark was in the surf, removed the hook and sent her back to sea in about 15 seconds. If you are into shark fishing here, use appropriate heavy tackle, barbless circle hooks, and release immediately. Take the online course, get involved with a tagging program. Understand people are watching you, respect the animal and be safe.
Q: What did you do when you realized it was a white?
A: Saw the spotted pectoral fin flash in a wave and just focused. Understood the gravity of the situation and had to get her released safely and quickly. Amazing creature, humbled to be blessed with the opportunity to interact with one. Had a great crew helping with everything, she swam off strong, not something we will ever forget.

OK, so when Yours Truly rolled into the driveway after leaving the emergency vet hospital this evening, the ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD was without power. Power company can’t guarantee a restoration time.
Found out what happened—a big fire just up the road from here. Downed trees over power lines. WRAL, Raleigh has the story. Cole Mill Road fire. There’s a lot of smoke smell everywhere.
Thank God that I got Solas over to the emergency vet hospital before the fire started.
