I am about to rebuild a laundry room that was added to my 130 year old house in the 1940’s or so, with the help of my son and his best friend. It has leaked on and off for years. We have patched it up, but it always fails again. It was just built wrong.
We tore off the shingles down to the original roof a couple of weeks ago, and whoo-boy. There are holes in the boards the size of my fist from rot. What a mess!
Owning a house, especially an old house, can be a real pain. But it is literally the only thing I have for retirement.
I hope you are doing ok with your projects, and the weather holds for us both.
The weather just got a bit hotter than I was hoping, but I’m also doing better with the heat than in previous years, so it is going to allow me to get more done by working longer into the summer.

It shows the page in sequential order instead of laying sheets on top of each other [ cascading style sheets is what I think they call basic ]
The visual effect might be jarring but the text is on there somewhere and it’s readable.

Later I’ll share a poem my hubby wrote inspired by Dad’s character shortly before his passing. God has blessed Michael with a tender heart & creative expressions that often capture the essence of someone who has gone through the fire.

By the way my little brother & sister-in-law are major go-getters so the funeral home visitation will be Monday in Brighton & the church visitation, funeral, & luncheon will be in Sterling Heights on Tuesday. We are working with my parents’ god-daughter Debbie again to manage all of the arrangements. She did an excellent job with Mom & I expect no less with Dad. Her dad, who died Fall 2024, was my dad’s longtime hunting buddy.
At Clyde’s funeral Debbie recounted some of the intertwined histories of our families. Apparently Debbie was conceived out of wedlock & her parents then married under extra family pressure. When she was a baby her parents’ marriage fractured & her dad moved out for a season. My parents were instrumental in helping her dad get on track with the Lord & also in restoring her parents’ marriage.
Years later her parents are the ones who invited my parents to the church Bethesda in the 1970s & that one incident significantly changed the trajectory of my family’s lives in myriad ways. Debbie’s college choice led to my parents pressuring me to go to the same Tulsa school, which I did rather reluctantly (kicking & screaming I used to say), but being out in Tulsa is how I met my husband & the rest, as they say, is history. Debbie even sang at our wedding & her then husband was our videographer…
My parents were big contributors at the outset of Debbie’s dad’s spiritual life (& our fathers had a complex iron sharpens iron friendship) & now Debbie is a significant contributor to how both of my parents natural lives are honored at the end. God is so good to have laid out this road for our families which has blessed many over the years!

Was advised against it by an attorney friend back in the early 90’s. He drafted living wills, medical powers of attorney and other documents reflecting our desires before that was a thing. Back then there were some cases where the organ transfer created a financial claim on the estate of the donator. That was absurd and a non-starter for us.
I am in the middle of doing state applicable new wills, living wills, powers of attorney, HIPPA, etc. from Quicken WillMaker since the laws have become more settled in recent years. Time to update.

I knew a man who stood tall and wise
He served the Lord wearing no disguise
He did not break, he did not fall
He was the family’s, man on the wall
He knew our needs and knew our cares
He showered us with many prayers

God’s sword in his hand, he fought for the win.

He loved to watch all his kids play
Soccer and track, and even acting on stage!
He especially loved birthdays.. and anniversaries too.
And he had a hard time turning down, some really good food.
He loved to laugh, and tell a fun tale
And even when his legs got frail,

He is the family’s …vigilant, man on the wall
I saw him recently sitting quietly in his chair
Looking like a marine, with a thousand yard stare
Seemed as if he was looking past me
Thinking about what his next prayers might be
I didn’t see an old man in his very last days
Counting the minutes, to go into God’s haze
It wasn’t a man sitting quietly at all
He was a soldier on duty on his God given wall.

I’m sure God will give your Dad a wall to guard in Heaven.
Part of my Dad’s email was CooleyGuard, as in he played Guard in football for his high school. So much of how he looked at life was through the lens of sports, especially football. He was a fairly little guy, scrawny as a player (he filled out later in life), but he was a fighter. He said coach would tell him to protect his territory & not let the opponent in & by golly that’s just what he would do. He was like that in The Kingdom too, not giving an inch to the Enemy (most of the time). During part of his football life, not sure if HS or college, he played Every Single Play of the game, offence, defense, & special teams. I think that football role conditioned him to be on guard in most arenas of his life, especially protecting the family.

Doctors report things are looking GOOD and that ‘Stephen is a fighter’
They tried to bring him out of the coma but he wasn’t doing well so they induced him again
They will try to gradually take him out again soon
His throat has had to be stapled from one side to the other
His left eye and socket have been completely lost He’s had two surgeries to rebuild his nose
Doctors say they are focusing on treating the swelling to his face

My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us!
I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis (Florida) trying to think of scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of presidential candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around.
I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it.
Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose.These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought.
We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty One Times!!!
Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful. ??
Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”
Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in.
When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided.
My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.
Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country.
People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, we elect some politicians who are dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism.
Why? The answer is this,?? my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or we didn’t see the rise and fall of socialism and communism.
We don’t know what it’s like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.”

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 19:14
The glory of God’s works. (1-6) His holiness and grace as shown in his word. (7-10) Prayer for the benefit of them. (11-14)
1-6 The heavens so declare the glory of God, and proclaim his wisdom, power, and goodness, that all ungodly men are left without excuse. They speak themselves to be works of God’s hands; for they must have a Creator who is eternal, infinitely wise, powerful, and good.
7-10 The Holy Scripture is of much greater benefit to us than day or night, than the air we breathe, or the light of the sun. To recover man out of his fallen state, there is need of the word of God. The word translated “law,” may be rendered doctrine, and be understood as meaning all that teaches us true religion. The whole is perfect; its tendency is to convert or turn the soul from sin and the world, to God and holiness.
11-14 God’s word warns the wicked not to go on in his wicked way, and warns the righteous not to turn from his good way. There is a reward, not only after keeping, but in keeping God’s commandments. Religion makes our comforts sweet, and our crosses easy, life truly valuable, and death itself truly desirable. David not only desired to be pardoned and cleansed from the sins he had discovered and confessed, but from those he had forgotten or overlooked. All discoveries of sin made to us by the law, should drive us to the throne of grace, there to pray. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

The probe centers on whether these banks systematically shut down accounts based on customers’ political views or religious beliefs — a practice that is illegal under federal law.
Fox News legal analyst Greg Jarrett laid out the stakes: banking discrimination on political or religious grounds violates roughly half a dozen federal statutes, constitutional free-speech protections, and state consumer law. Grand jury subpoenas are not fishing expeditions. They are issued when investigators have targets.
Trump signed an executive order in August 2025 titled “Guaranteeing Fair Banking for All Americans” directing banking regulators to probe politicized debanking and refer violations to DOJ. Some subpoenas date back to 2025. The investigation is already underway. If you had a bank account closed or a business cut off because of your politics or your faith in the past several years, that pattern is now the subject of a federal criminal investigation.
