Part of today’s excitement was that The Fiancee hired a company to come trim a bush in front of our garage conversion’s chimney. It had reached all the way to the top (about 16 feet) and should be about 12.
The owner of the company sent out a couple of his nephews. They arrived with one eight-foot ladder and a couple of loppers, one of which was dull. Even though we had documented the job with emailed photos, the kids seemed shocked to see the task at hand.
To their credit, they set on with a will, and I went out there to slowly “clean up” around them. The Fiancee had previously dropped a power line and electric hedge trimmer on them, but they didn’t immediately get to the point of actually using it. She had also brought around our six-foot ladder.
They found a 2″ branch they wanted to cut (clearly beyond a lopper) and — after talking among themselves — asked if I had a hand saw. I opted to lend them a bow saw, like htt ps://www.am azon.com/Stansport-Sportsmans-Blades-Gray-18-Inch/dp/B0067MKS8Y. These typically have highly aggressive blades suitable for short strokes on green wood in brushy environments and won’t knock the operator off a ladder (like a Sawzall might). The only bad thing about them is that they resemble amputation saws from the Civil War and you really, really, really want to keep your other hand away from the business part. Oh, and watch where you set them down because tripping into one is not good. I only had to yell “get your hand outta there” a couple of times before they got aware.
We had previously given them the “no se mate” speech. First The Fiancee, then myself.
They started getting higher on the shrub, and we offered our 16′ three-hinge folding ladder. It’s old, so we had to demonstrate how to inspect and fix the position locks with a screwdriver.
There were two little vertical branches that still stuck out the top, so I went and pulled our pole pruner.
With the bow saw, the powered hedge trimmer, the two extra ladders, the pole pruner, and the loppers they brought, they eventually got done with the project, with a major feeling of accomplishment over adversity. The Fiancee felt bad that they were so ill-equipped for the job, but we fortunately had everything needed. They were good kids, and learned a lot about setting to a job and using different tools along the way. Took about four hours. Roberto could have done it in half-an-hour, and not only knew what tools we had but where they were stashed.
“No se mate” is pronounced “Noh, say, mah-tay” and means (in Spanish), “Don’t yourself kill (command form).” The full speech emphasizes safety and caution in a somewhat humorous way.
Back when I was in Spanish class in High School, my friends and I would create fake reflexive verbs, like “boogiarse” — to move oneself from place to place in a rhythmic, musical manner. To express the previous construction with the current (fake) verb, one might say “No se boogie. [Noh Say Boo-Gee-Yay]”

Suspect this type of thing goes on far more often than thought…
Woman arrested after using her access to the sensitive court database to warn members of a drug trafficking operation who had arrest warrants.
Crystal Lawson, 32, was hired in 2022 as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice before being terminated from that role for a battery charge later that year.
Although Lawson was fired, her access to the court database was not cut off.
Between January and May 2026, Lawson used the database 106 times to search for active criminals being investigated for drug trafficking.
Lawson unlawfully found multiple active, unserved arrest warrants and leaked that information to the criminals.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated on Instagram, “These leaks resulted in lost evidence, unrecovered assets, and at least one flight to avoid arrest.”
Lawson was charged with 113 felony counts of unauthorized access, each punishable by up to 5 years in prison

Texas had a data breach…3 million driver license ids stolen

Texas spent the past two years building the legal machinery to make you prove who you are before you go online. This week it showed how well it guards the identity documents it already holds.
Hackers pulled the driver’s license and passport numbers of more than 3 million people out of a state government system, in one of the largest breaches Texas has reported this year.
The stolen records came from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the agency that sells hunting and fishing licenses. A breach notice posted on the department’s website says the state’s cybersecurity unit detected a security incident that gave attackers access to the outside vendor running its license system.
The department did not say what the incident was or when it happened and it has not named the company that handles its license data.
Driver’s license details and passport numbers were not the only things taken. The department says the haul also included email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses of affected license holders.
People who buy a Texas fishing license hand their identity documents to the state and the state hands those documents to a contractor it won’t identify.
The agency also declined to say whether the hackers have contacted it, which usually means a ransom demand or a public dump is somewhere on the table.
Three million people now have to wonder whether their government ID is sitting in a criminal marketplace and they can’t even find out which company lost it. The incident sits on the Attorney General Ken Paxton’s public breach reporting page alongside the rest of the year’s losses.
This is the same Texas that has positioned itself as the national leader in forcing people to show identification online. State law now requires age verification to reach adult websites, a mandate the Supreme Court upheld last year, and a separate law pushes app stores to confirm how old their users are before letting them download anything.
A government that cannot keep 3 million existing records out of hackers’ hands is now insisting that more companies gather the same kind of data from everyone else.
Every age check that demands a scanned license or a face scan creates another database, another vendor, another copy of your identity waiting to leak. The Parks and Wildlife breach is what that policy produces, except here the data was sitting in state hands the whole time and still got out.
The same pattern showed up in October, when Discord disclosed that attackers had reached a third-party vendor and exposed roughly 70,000 users’ government ID photos, images the company had collected to verify ages.
Discord blamed the contractor and said its own systems stayed intact, which is cold comfort to anyone whose passport photo is now loose on the internet.
The lesson repeats with each of these incidents, which is that the weak point is rarely the company you handed your ID to but the chain of vendors behind it that you never agreed to trust and that nobody audits until after the breach.
Driver’s license and passport numbers don’t expire and you can’t reset them like a password. The 3 million Texans in this breach face a real risk of identity theft for years and they face it not because they did anything online but because they went fishing.
That is the cost the verification-first approach keeps pushing onto the people it claims to protect. The state asks for proof of who you are, then loses it, then asks for more.

Here’s the latest in the Curren family saga with my Dad’s Estate:
Info sent by text from SIL…Estate Sale on Dad’s house July 20-27, “Sale date July 24th”–I don’t know what that means exactly. June 23 an “Estate company will walk through & take pictures of items to put online for sale. Please remove & document items you do not want listed for sale online.” Also “scheduling may be sooner if they have an opening”. We can take Mom’s piano if we want, for free since it likely won’t sell & cost $400 to remove. I’m trying to see if other Currens want to go through Dad’s house for items to get. I got a car full of mostly photo albums & the memorabilia that were used for Dad’s funeral. There’s another load in the Living Room that can be mine for $200.
There are a few other items I selected after others left the other day so I’ll have to “document” what they are & possibly pay to take possession–but I have to remove them from the house ASAP so they don’t get sold online apparently. It gets kind of confusing.
Michael crunched numbers from the documents the Executor presented at the business meeting after the funeral. He put together a very business-like proposal of how we are planning to address the purchase of both the Cottage AND the Hilton. The Cottage will pend funds from the sale of Dad’s house & contents. I sent a follow on email specifying that if it were financially possible to buy the Cottage & its contents outright that would be my preference. If there were further funds needed then a limited/mini Estate Sale of Cottage (or its garage) contents might be needed. I “respectfully requested” the right to designate things that would not be up for sale. Basically if there were some “big ticket” items that we could bear parting with to make ends meet that is what would be available.
Little bro & SIL are heading to Gaylord today to attend to/witness Dad’s burial–they were the only ones there for Mom’s burial too (it was right after Josiah got out of the hospital for Severe Pancreatitis & I was in no shape to travel, like now, as in completely spent). They intend to put a lockbox on the Cottage so that Estate affairs can be handled there.
I’m planning to go back to Dad’s house after a little more sleep & at least get my planned for items. I may try to get a bit more if room & time permits. I hope to encounter the young man down the block so that I might offer him one of Dad’s Bibles & maybe one of his hats that the sibs loaded into my car. I’d like to go through some Christmas items, but we’ll see, they’ll be harder to access & if I’m alone I might not attempt getting into attics. Man just thinking about it I know there are handmade ornaments from Dad’s mom, various ones of childhood including ones with All the family names on them from when the whole gang gathered at my parents but that’s been almost 2 decades ago now…
Brandon’s fiancée, a law student did a cursory review of the 65 page document & said that there was a Four Month Window to decide & Six Months to get the properties for sale. Obviously Bro & SIL are operating at a frenetic pace. It’s Wild. Oh also there is apparently a phrase within the Trust that allows the siblings to agree on pricing as they choose (which they’ve sort of been doing with items in Dad’s house, but Perhaps could apply to real properties as well).
Several Currens have been having trouble sleeping as they mull over various events, decisions, &/or communications. It’s been very hard on all of us.
DIL overheard SIL telling DIL’s mother at the funeral luncheon that she was really just trying to get everything done before the month was out. DIL’s mother was flabbergasted that this is how it’s going. I think there are some people that feel sorry for us now…
Hubby has decided that the only way he can cope w/ dynamics is to look at little bro & SIL not like family but people that you have to do business with. He keeps trying to remove himself from the equation so that he doesn’t lash out in sheer frustration & overload.
We definitely still need Lots of Prayer AND God’s Grace to help us get through (unscathed is no longer an option but eventually healed up w/ diminishing scars is). Blessings 💔

Well I eat & sleep when I can, & thankfully I can usually sleep a few hours before needing the bathroom at least. Regarding the online sales versus pulling items out – that’s people scamming [though they may not realize it].
When somebody highest bids an item in a public auction, there are several steps that must be taken before the item becomes ‘his/hers’.
The auction house has the risk of being able to legally transfer ownership of the item. Not the co-owner or co-beneficiary. [that would be you]
The auction house usually protects itself by contract with the owner.
Important note IMO – a dispute over the terms is described in dollars. The ownership is never involuntarily transferred as a remedy for a breach [primarily due to shared ownership]. By telling you that there’s a deadline for you to ‘claim’ what is already yours under penalty of losing it, you are being misled [at best].
Hypothetical – what if you had a traffic accident on the way over on the last day which prevented you from performing?

That’s an excellent idea. Give people space to partially regroup. I was paying some bills last night, something I usually do twice a month, & I kept making a Bunch of basic math errors. Hubby was playing some music videos kind of loud & it threw me off even more. This was Not like me at all & I think represents the level of stress that is allowing my mind to misfire. You don’t want to tackle big decisions when you’re that way, & you shouldn’t want others to be forced to do so either. We all need some degree of clear-headedness to handle Estate issues as it can be so heavy.
DW and I have taken and documented several things to prevent greed. Will. Letter to children.

This sounds like an excellent approach. In my dad’s case I think that while he & mom were still functional they put most of their assets into that Trust to protect them. They brought little bro on board about five years ago in business meetings w/ professionals & to train him. He also stepped in to help Dad get his taxes done, which were extended in 2025 to Oct for 2024 & then he helped again to get Dad’s 2025 taxes done just days before Dad’s fall & cascading health issues that lead them to taking Dad into their home. He had been managing Dad’s finances quite a bit for the last year or so, after Mom died, but not immediately.
What my parents did Not do was have discussions with all 3 kids about personal property items & who wants what etc. Dad at little bro’s home also said “it’s hard” when asked about what He wanted to happen with his stuff. He basically put little bro in charge of all of it as Trustee/Executor & this is now how Bro/SIL are operating. Some things are available for free to family, other things are supposed to be paid to the trust at “garage sale” value. It is what it is.
I think if nothing else is accomplished by this ongoing situation, as shared here in the Q-Tree, it represents a cautionary tale that even among “strong Christians” who I do not believe are intent on stealing from each other, there are many problematic pathways & lots of pain. That some Q-Treepers are contemplating putting guard rails in place for their own estates is a positive outcome from all of this turmoil in my family. May God bless all of our plans!

I don’t necessarily think either of my brothers or their wives are truly in the “love money” category, but more in the “don’t want more crap to clutter my life & space up”. My parents & I are all packrats, & I’m a sentimental packrat to boot. My brothers cleaned my parents basement up quite a few years back & Mom & Dad were deeply troubled by that, I mean for Years. Dad was troubled knowing that Mike & Sarah would do some “slash & burn” in his home to get things ready to move. At the end he would have been incapable of deciding on most things though he did say OK when I asked about having one of his 2 deer heads. He said wait when asked about a chair Hubby was interested in because little bro was also interested. So he didn’t just “give in” to whatever was requested, which seemed good to me. Neither bro wants the other deer head so we might have to pay up on that.

It’s NOT usual for a direct heir (for example, child) to have to PAY for items that are in the family home — even if the items would belong to the Estate of the owner (deceased parent.)
The “frenetic pace” of the sibling-Executor is NOT normal — especially since it appears that there is a months-long “window” in which to get certain things taken care of, as described in the documents you have.
IMO, there’s something else going on here. Either the sibling-Executor (by his own decision, or via being told what to do by “another person”) is abusing his authority as Executor; or, that he’s under pressure from “another person” to dispose of the Estate as quickly as possible; or, that the Executor is somehow reacting from the emotional stress and/or physical exhaustion from the round-the-clock caregiving that was provided during the last few months of your father’s life.
PLEASE — take detailed notes on ANY conversation you’re directly engaged in with sibling-Executor.
And, yes, it’s time to STEP AWAY from treating sibling-Executor as a relative. The Estate is now a BUSINESS SITUATION. This decision can sometimes be hard to do. But it needs to happen. Now.

All of one’s comments and replies are based on hard-learned lessons from Estates that one was either Executor of; or, assisted the Executor of.
Yours Truly has witnessed family cohesion among the heirs fall apart; decades-old feuds re-ignited; has discovered outright pillaging of Estate items before the Inventory was completed; heirs (and family friends and neighbors) claiming that the deceased had “promised” them certain things (and there was nothing in writing by the deceased about this); has had to deal with bitterness regarding one’s rights as Executor; has had to have the safety deposit box of the deceased drilled open on the demand of one heir who claimed that valuables were inside this box that were “promised” to them (the safety deposit box was empty — the deceased never used it); had to have Cease and Desist letters couriered to the next-door neighbor of my deceased father to stop the neighbor from cutting down trees on my family home property “because they blocked the view” from the neighbor’s house; and more.
These are difficult scenarios & I’m sorry you went through them & perhaps still have fallout. I deeply appreciate your wisdom & insights. They help me to deal with how our situation is shaking out too–Thank you!
We had a neighbor of the Cottage cut branches off one of our trees that was intruding on the alley between our two places & it was clearly on our property. Alleys used to be community use, like roads, but some years back the property lines were expanded so alleys were divided down the middle & the half adjacent to your property becomes your taxable property. This neighbor, different owners over the years, has always acted like the whole alley is theirs to use because they park there, they don’t have any parking on their property but we do on ours so we almost never use the alley for parking. The neighbor trimmed an evergreen so their cars wouldn’t get scratched while they parked on our property portion of the alley. Dad was Pissed & handled it w/ the then owner.
I used to do a lot of estate accounting stuff about 40 years ago, so I’m not a good reference for current practice….but I vaguely remember that there was a valuation at date of death plus an alternative valuation date about six months later, so the executor had little reason to rush the process before he knew what the alternative valuation might be (after which he could choose the more advantageous date).

He even listed his supposed fiancée, Maria Fatima Batres, on his official paperwork while serving as a city councilman.
But there’s just one problem: the whole thing was a pretend event. The vast majority of weddings held at Akiin Beach Tulum Weddings are symbolic.

“The two participated in a private commitment ceremony but were never legally married and eventually separated,” the spokesperson said.
Vasquez is now engaged to Nikki Santos, a divorced woman with Democratic political ties. Santos is a Biden-era political appointee who previously worked at the Center for Native American Youth, which is connected to the Aspen Institute.
The congressman’s relationship with Santos also raises some important questions. For example, she not only appeared on Vasquez’s FEC report, but it’s not clear when she first separated from her ex-husband.

1-6 Tumults or opposition may constrain a Christian to remove from his station or alter his purpose, but his work and his pleasure will be the same, wherever he goes. Paul thought it worth while to bestow five days in going to Troas, though it was but for seven days’ stay there; but he knew, and so should we, how to redeem even journeying time, and to make it turn to some good account.

The Army son of a friend of ours was stationed in Syria for a tour in #45’s term around 2017-18. The official explanation was they were there to protect the oil wells after ISIS was knocked out the various rebel groups were fighting with Assad’s military. Nobody much believed it. Most thought it was Assad’s chemical weapons, which may have been part of it. It appears it was much more.
It appears the primary reason has been revealed, which has been suspected for years.

My son’s friend who is here visiting with us to help with my laundry room rebuild has close relatives in the UK. His Dad was a British immigrant to America way back.
Today, he, me, and my son had this long conversation about the differences between living in America and living in the UK. My sons reaction to what his friend (and I) were saying, about being arrested for social media, about the crap food, about how small everything is compared to America, etc. was just hilarious. He was shocked, because all the media talks about is how GREAT Europe is.
This was sparked by my bringing up Freddy and the other Europeans visiting for the World Cup, and their experiences with Waffle House, Buc-Ees, barbecue, etc. It was a fantastic conversation, with someone who has relatives there, and has spent time over there, too.
So, a while back I was involved with Sarbanes-Oxley control testing at the UK sub of a California corporation. I showed up with my best auditor, a young Filipina who was maybe 90 pounds soaking wet. Looked like a kid.
We showed up at their front door, I’m hauling all our equipment and documents and audit cases. We get a half-height cube for her and I set her up in it (she almost had to sit on a telephone book to get enough height for the desk). I look at their filing system, and start gathering materials for her to test. I’d also wander around and discuss the concerns of the accounting staff. Soon, there were enough ledgers and reports surrounding her cube that you couldn’t see her any more, and you’d hear constant rapid keyboard input.
The staff wanted to have a progress report at the end of the day, so we got together at closing. My presentation went like — “we tested eight controls today. Out of a population of 1267 documents, we selected 102. Forty-eight of these showed deviations from documented control policies, causing six of the eight controls to not conform. I’ll be discussing remediations tomorrow — some of them might change the controls, others might change workflow, others might need renewed attention to operations.”
They probably thought I had brought some amusing cute kid along, but I had brought my BEST auditor. At the end of our multi-day stay there, they were clearly terrified of her (although I was writing the audit plans she executed). On our last day, the General Manager took her and me out to dinner. We discussed all sorts of things — his son’s desire to be an archeologist, historical topics, and the like. My auditor was trying to keep up with much of it with difficulty — California public school education.
At one point, we mentioned a recent local crime and how someone had to flee their residence rather than defend themselves. At first, she perked up and was full of questions. Both the GM and I explained how the homeowner could not use a knife or a cricket bat to defend themselves even if they had one in the same room, and had to flee or would have been arrested. She had been getting increasingly fidgety and upset and finally blurted out, “you have got to be fucking kidding me!” Fortunately, this wasn’t out in public, but the GM and I were laughing so hard…..
My little audit machine was flabbergasted to hear this about a country where she could understand the language, stand in queues, order dinner, walk the sidewalks [and where many curbs helpfully indicated the direction traffic would come from] and was feeling somewhat comfortable.
I went again the next quarter to document how all the faults had been cured, and then the quarter after that she went with my third best auditor. They had to haul the equipment and cases in relays, as the new auditor was only slightly larger.
As an aside, The Fiancee was unemployed at the time, so we were running a software application that I designed and The Fiancee coded in Microsoft Access. It was built around a thing called a Test Performance Sheet that identified the control, the population of transactions, the sample size, and results.
Accordingly, the information I provided at the end of that first day came right off the TPS Report.
And, yes, this was entirely intentional — the favorite movie of the owner of the company was “Office Space”.
Part of the humor of this situation was the scenario where someone broke into my auditor’s hotel room with thoughts of malice. She could not conceive of the local rules where she had to flee, and would probably have whacked him over the head with her laptop computer until she could stab him to death with a hairpin, even when the guy would likely have been at least twice her size.
That’s what made her excited utterance so funny — she was reading our explanations as “so I’m supposed to be helpless?” when she was anything but.

WHOLE PAGES are redacted.
WHOLE LISTS of email recipient names of emails from Fauci are redacted.
NAMES OF THE CIA OFFICERS INVOLVED in the COVID-19 coverup, etc., are redacted.
The ONLY name that appears over and over again (in a “facilitator” role in the WIV work, etc.) is: PETER DASZAK — who, as a British citizen, would be difficult to bring to justice here in the United States.
RALPH BARIC is not mentioned, as far as Yours Truly can see so far.
