On the subject of Steve’s choice to move on, I will simply say the following.

I respect his wishes. Having once been something of an atheist myself (albeit corrupted at an early age by a religious caregiver), I can appreciate his quandary. Moving among communities on the internet is a normal part of life, and we have to make choices about where we spend our time. I have left other communities for here, and I can envision having to leave here, too, although rather unlikely at the moment.

Steve is welcome to return here in the future, if he wishes, but no matter what, I will wish him well on his travels, and hope we meet again, if not here, then elsewhere on the internet.

For today’s header photo, SPRING was the keyword for my search. When the results popped up, I found this little guy staring curiously  at me.
I like how the Wolfmoon is centered within this bold creature as he stands perched between such vibrant blossoms. Much like we, the Q Treepers and other Patriots, are discovering that we have do a HUGE and VIBRANT spirit, often hidden deeply within our simple and somewhat ordinary lives.

The theme of tonight’s post is MOON PIES.

Moon Pies are a bit of hillbilly cuisine that some folks gain a certain love for, despite the fact that – if you really think about them – they are an absolute culinary FAIL.

  • taste like cardboard, shaving cream, unsweetened chocolate syrup that was barely dried on the stove, and 20-year-old ginger snaps that survived a flood and never dried out right
  • oddly dry yet not crisp
  • bad mouth-feel as you bite down, like inedible things balanced badly on polyurethane foam
  • they literally make one’s teeth cringe like nails on a blackboard
  • not enough chocolate
  • chocolate not sweet enough
  • chocolate too tacky and melty, gets on fingers easily, smears around
  • spices in breading are too weak
  • not enough bad cream
  • bad cream has creepy sponginess
  • non-optimal mix of bad components
  • crumbly in a bad way

And YET some of us gain an odd affection for them.

Yeah. You know you want one. 😉
