2021·02·20 Joe Biden Didn’t Win But Silver is Money Daily Thread

Scroll down for some info, some of it may be useful, some may be interesting, some might even be both, but more likely most is neither, about precious metals and what sorts of products are out there.

His Fraudulency

Joe Biteme, properly styled His Fraudulency, continues to infest the White House, we haven’t heard much from the person who should have been declared the victor, and hopium is still being dispensed even as our military appears to have joined the political establishment in knuckling under to the fraud.

One can hope that all is not as it seems.

I’d love to feast on that crow.

But we do have a nice little distraction at the moment. SCOTUS at least pretended to pay attention to a lot of election fraud cases on the 19th; as I write it’s 5PM ET and I have no idea how that went. It’ll be interesting to see how they weasel out…this time.

Justice Must Be Done.

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.

Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.

Lawyer Appeasement Section

OK now for the fine print.

This is the WQTH Daily Thread. You know the drill. There’s no Poltical correctness, but civility is a requirement. There are Important Guidelines,  here, with an addendum on 20191110.

We have a new board – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation.

And remember Wheatie’s Rules:

1. No food fights
2. No running with scissors.
3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
4. Zeroth rule of gun safety: Don’t let the government get your guns.
5. Rule one of gun safety: The gun is always loaded.
5a. If you actually want the gun to be loaded, like because you’re checking out a bump in the night, then it’s empty.
6. Rule two of gun safety: Never point the gun at anything you’re not willing to destroy.
7. Rule three: Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
8. Rule the fourth: Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

(Hmm a few extras seem to have crept in.)

Silver (and Other Bullion): The Basics

First thing: Bullion is not a coin collection, and a coin collection isn’t bullion. People I know who know I collect get the two mixed up a lot, and I suppose it’s understandable, because coin shops generally sell both rare coins and bullion.

The key difference is that collector coins are generally worth considerably more than the metal they contain, and even when they’re not, they’re being bought because of the date of issue, the design, the error made in producing it, or any of a number of issues that have nothing to do with what it’s made off. The value of the metal in the coin puts a floor on its value, though. For instance, there are plenty of “common” gold coins that collectors want (because they’re trying to put together a date set), that are worth barely more than “melt” (the term for the value of the gold or silver in the coin). Their prices move up and down whenever gold fluctuates. But they’re still being bought for their interest as collectibles; they’d be worth something even if the gold value dropped to zero (like that’s going to happen!).

Bullion, on the other hand, is being bought because it is made out of what it is, and other considerations are secondary. But not necessarily insignificant: People will buy precious metals in a form that makes it easier to sell. One of the issues is it being in a form that the buyer will trust to actually be made of silver (or gold) rather than somehow faked (e.g., gold or silver plated lead). If it has to be assayed, that has a cost, which will eat into how much you’ll be paid for your bullion. Which is why a struck coin (or coin-like) object is often trusted, and why some of this stuff comes in tamper-evident packaging.

To sort of drive home the difference, I was told this story by a coin dealer one time, and I’m sure it’s not a terribly uncommon occurrence. Someone offered him a gold coin. It looked to be a rare date, so it’d be worth a lot more than the gold content. On closer examination, though, it was counterfeit, but undeniably made out of real gold. He paid the customer what the gold in the coin was worth, then took a pair of pliers and bent the coin…and tossed it in a pot he was going to sell to the wholesale market, where it would no doubt be simply melted. He didn’t want anyone to mistake the coin for something rare…as opposed to just a lump of precious metal.

I’m going to assume here you want silver itself, not a piece of paper saying you’re entitled to it, not a futures contract, not mining stocks. You want the lump of metal in your hand.

History and Overview of the Metals Themselves

Some history, because why not? Copper, silver and gold (among other metals) were all discovered so long ago we have no idea who discovered them. When coinage was invented in the 600s BCE (at least in what we think of as the Western world, though that place–Lydia–was in present day Turkey) it started out as an alloy of gold and silver. These materials were known to be rare, and were valued as jewelry if nothing else. Gold, in particular, simply didn’t tarnish or corrode. Silver would tarnish, but once it did tarnish, that was the end, it didn’t turn to useless powder like iron did. Copper similarly. In fact, these metals are sometimes found free in nature, not needing to be extracted from ore: gold most commonly, then silver, then copper. (Because of this, in most ancient Egypt, gold was considered more common than silver and was less expensive. Once we figured out how to extract them from ores, the situation changed.)

Unsurprisingly, given their similar chemical properties, copper, silver and gold appear in the same column of the periodic table, and they’re known as the coinage metals, because once we started making coins, those were the metals that went into them. Gold, in particular, was difficult to convincingly fake, because it was denser than anything else known. Nothing else was as heavy on a per volume basis. If you gold plated a lead brick, that brick would be much, much too light! (Only in the 1700s did we discover other things, like platinum or tungsten, that could equal or exceed gold’s density.) Their chemical symbols are Cu (copper), Ag (silver) and Au (gold). But, when talking to someone whose interest is in historic coins, they’ll be abbreviated AE, AR, and AU, usually as ligatures (like Æ, but AU and AR don’t seem to exist in unicode as ligatures). I learned the chemical symbols long before the numismatic ones, and get twitted for writing Ag a lot.

Immediately to the left of these three, under iron/cobalt/nickel, are a group of six metals called the Platinum Group Metals. These are: ruthenium (Ru), rhodium (Rh), palladium (Pd), and osmium (Os), iridium (Ir), platinum (Pt). Platinum is quite famous, the others less so. Platinum was discovered about a century before the others, and they’re almost invariably found together in nature. You can buy platinum, palladium, and sometimes rhodium as bars and rounds (and even NCLT platinum and palladium, I’ll explain what that means below). At least in theory you can, for rhodium–you’d better bring about $25 grand to the table. But the others (ruthenium, osmium and iridium) are very specialty items, hard to find in solid as opposed to powder form, and available in 50 kilogram lots.

And to the left of osmium is rhenium (Re), an interesting metal in its own right, and the second to last stable element to be discovered, back in 1908. It’s sometimes used in spacecraft and jet engines, relatively cheap compared to the PGMs but more expensive than silver and considered the ninth precious metal, sometimes.

Anyhow: Once we started making coins, gold and silver began to be thought of as “money.” (Copper was good for making money out of too, but it had a number of other uses as well, and still does.)

Troy Ounces and Purity

The precious metals (but not copper) are commonly weighed out in either grams or troy ounces. Troy ounces, though are different from the grocery store ounces (avoirudupois onces); it’s a parallel weight system. Avoirdupois and troy both use the same “grain” (the grain you use at the reloading bench; the grain your ammo’s bullets are weighed in). But an avoirdupois ounce is 437.5 grains, where a troy ounce is 480 of them. Worse, a troy pound is twelve troy ounces, 5760 grains, whereas an avoirdupois pound is 16 avdp ounces, or 7000 grains. Fortunately, you will almost never hear about troy pounds except in some weird Parade magazine ads for silver weighing a quarter or a third of a pound (don’t do these–you’re paying their advertising budget). Pretty much, everyone in the US who deals in precious metals thinks in terms of troy ounces, and even multiples will be in ounces. There are ten ounce, hundred ounce, and even thousand ounce bars of silver out there, but I don’t recall ever seeing bars denominated in troy pounds. (Which doesn’t necessarily mean some eccentric guy isn’t doing that, somewhere.) Even overseas in the metric rest-of-the-world, the troy ounce clings to life, and foreign countries and companies make products in ounces, alongside their other products in grams.

You will sometimes see gold sold in kilogram bars. A kilogram is 32.15074657 troy ounces…if you can afford to buy that much gold in one lump, good for you! And those bars you see in videos of bank vaults? They’re typically about 400 ounces. They don’t make them precise, but they are marked with their precise weight. At that level, the institutions have no trouble whipping out their calculators and knowing what it’s worth.

Even a futures contract is for an approximate amount…you’ll be delivered about 100 ounces of gold, possibly in one big bar, but will be expected to pay a certain price per ounce. Just be prepared to buy a bit more or a bit less than that. I wasn’t planning to talk about futures, but there is one good thing about them from our standpoint; if a company can say that their bars are “good delivery,” that means the Big Boys trust that company and its bars, and therefore you can too.

[A troy ounce, by the way, is 31.1035 grams. That’s a number I have memorized. But I don’t remember other than “twenty eight point something” how many grams are in an avoirdupois ounce, which should tell you where my head is–precious metals, not groceries. [If I need to know I can grab a calculator and do the following: (437.5/480) x 31.1035.] And incidentally, since the mid 1900s the ounce (both of them) has been defined in terms of the metric system. (Aw, geez, now I have to look it up): one avoirdupois ounce is exactly 28.349523125 grams, by definition. And that also means the troy ounce is exactly  31.1034768 grams by definition, just in case the six digits of precision I have memorized isn’t enough.]

Purity is usually given as a decimal fraction; you will see notations like “.900 fine” which means ninety percent of whatever it is you’re looking at, is of the precious metal, the rest is some sort of alloy. Generally, when looking at a piece of bullion, you will be told how much pure metal is in it. A one ounce gold American Eagle, for instance, will weigh more than an ounce, but there will be a full ounce of gold in it plus some copper and silver. Our old silver coinage was .900 fine (this will become relevant below) and people call that “coin silver.” British silver was 0.925 fine in the good old days, that’s commonly known as “sterling silver.” In a way it really doesn’t matter, what matters is the net amount of silver or gold. (The other metals will generally be .999 fine in any product you will find.) Gold, by the way, is often given in karats, 24 karats is pure, 18 karats is .750 (common in European jewelry), 14 kt is common here in the US (and the Europeans wonder why we go gaga over it).

Your Choices for Silver

So how do you get into silver? There are three main methods–and the first two apply to the other metals to some extent or another.

1–Rounds and Bars

A lot of people produce “rounds” that look like coins; when you look at them closely, though, the writing says they contain so much silver (usually an ounce). There won’t be a denomination, and usually there’s no country name, but there will be a company name. In this same vein, there are one ounce bars (rare for silver) and larger bars (5, 10, 100 and even 1000 ounce). Sometimes the rounds are prized and even collected for the artwork; even I once bought a two ounce round that had a “Don’t Tread On Me” motif on it. In all cases, there is a marking on the rounds/bars indicating how much silver is in them, and they are usually 99.9% pure, better known as .999 fine. Gold purity will usually be given this way too, but sometimes, you will see it given in karats, 24 karat being pure. Back when I was buying lots of precious metals (when the price was a lot lower), I tended to buy silver in larger bars, with some rounds thrown in. I also had bars of other metals (but not gold).

If you get into more expensive metals’ bars, there are some big, internationally known companies whose one ounce (and higher) bars are considered trustworthy, such as Johnson Matthey, Hereaus, PAMP (formerly Credit Suisse and you’ll see plenty of bars marked as such), APMEX, and Engelhardt. Some of these come in a tamper proof plastic pack. Recently, I’ve seen gold come as a sort of wafer like a big chocolate bar, with individual blocks you can twist and break apart. Although this looks like a decent way to buy gold in one gram increments, I have no idea what the aftermarket is like once they’ve been broken apart.

1/2 ounce platinum bar from PAMP; they sell many different sizes in both metric and troy, the troy sizes being more common here, but 1 gram being conveniently small. They also do silver, gold, palladium and even rhodium.
Don’t be fooled, this bar is MUCH larger than the PAMP one above.
This is one of those break-apart-able chocolate bar style, I’ve seen them with little piece sizes of 1 g (like shown here) and 1/10th of an ounce. As I said I have no idea what the aftermarket is like for the pieces, but it might help you own gold (or platinum) in small pieces, which might be convenient for trade.

2–NCLT Bullion Coins

There are the current crop of coins–yes, legally coins because they have a denomination on them–that only an idiot would spend at face value. Because they don’t circulate, but are legal tender (to unmask idiots, maybe), they’re called “Non-circulating Legal Tender” or NCLT for short. These coins will have a government’s name on them, a denomination, and they will also give their content and purity. Generally even when the metal isn’t pure, there is a net ounce (or half ounce, or quarter ounce) of gold or silver or whatever in them.

Your choices are American eagles, Canadian maple leafs, Chicom Pandas (please don’t buy these!), and so on, often in ounces, sometimes in grams. Back in the 70s and 80s there was pretty much one country doing this, South Africa, and they were producing the krugerrand (the gold rand). If memory serves, they came in 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce and quarter ounce sizes. They were not pure gold, however: with copper alloyed they tended to be tan in color.

The Krugerrand, which started something…

Our gold eagle is also not pure gold but is alloyed with a mix of copper and silver, so it has a proper “gold” color to it. We also sell a “buffalo” that is very pure gold; but I don’t see those as often.

Canada, in particular, loves to make pure gold coins, one ounce and up, and they’ve even made manhole-cover sized 100 kilogram gold coins (I got to see one once) that were 99.999% pure. However, this isn’t necessarily a good thing. Because gold will dent easily, these “Maple Leaf” coins get beat up and generally won’t sell for as much as you would think they ought to.

Since the impure coins still contain an ounce of gold or silver (or whatever) in them, the alloy is extra and usually helps the coin’s physical durability.

This is actually my favorite way to hold gold–American eagles. They come in 1/10th, 1/4th, 1/2 and 1 ounce sizes, denominated 5, 10, 25, and 50 dollars (and yes, that $10 should be $12.50 to be consistent–but again no one is actually going to use these at face value!). In general the buy sell spread is narrow on them, but is significantly wider for the smaller sizes.

Silver eagles (they are only made in one ounce size, denominated a dollar) tend to sell at a huge premium…nevertheless I buy one each year, because…yes, well, I am collecting them by date. (So much for the great divide between bullion and collectible coins–but I consider them part of my collection, not my bullion stash.) Actually, since I’m not the only one collecting (rather than accumulating) these coins, that’s probably why they sell at such a premium.

Junk Silver

Finally…yes, you can buy old coins. There’s an entire market for what is called “junk silver.” Junk silver is real coinage that actually circulated, once, not like those NCLTs we were just talking about.

“Junk” silver. That 1964 quarter (and the dime next to it) is surprisingly worn…and 1964 is such a common date that any wear at all makes it worthless as a collectible. But it’s a bona fide piece of silver!

But, these are old coins that are common dates, or they worn so badly they have no numismatic value. (You will find a LOT of early 60s coins in junk silver, that are in pretty decent shape, and you will see the occasional very worn coin from before 1940 as well.) They’re worth their silver content, and that’s it. Prices will be quoted in terms of face value. Ask a coin dealer how much he’s selling junk silver for, and he’ll tell you something like, “26 times face.” (Kitco is selling hundred dollar bags for $2,596.24–so basically, 26 times face. But that includes quite a substantial volume discount!) That means he’ll sell you a silver dime out of his junk silver dime stock, for $2.60, a half dollar for $13.00…and a quarter for $6.50. In general, though, you buy several of these at a time. A dollar’s worth, face value, contains .72 ounces of silver in it. (It also contains copper; the silver is 90% pure.) With these coins, it will be a bit less because many of them are worn, but this is figured into both the buying and selling price. The Kitco bag I just mentioned, for example, claims to have 71.5 ounces of silver in it, not 72. If you are on a super-tight Biden-era budget, this is the only way to get into silver, because no one makes rounds or NCLTs with only 0.072 ounces of silver in them, but an old dime has that much.

When you go to sell these, you will be paid, again, some number times face value. The difference between what the dealer sells for and what he pays is how he makes his lunch money.

But now I need to tell you some things that are well known to the experienced, but probably won’t be obvious. First off, half dollars from 1965-1970 contain 40 percent silver, not 90 percent. You can buy those as junk too, and they’ll be cheaper, but there’s less of a market for them and the buy/sell spread is really bad. pricing and almost no demand. Second: Old silver dollars have .77 ounces in them (they’re different because the events of 1853 and 1873 left them alone–I’ve talked about this) and sell at more of a premium because too many people just like silver dollars. There are “junk” silver dollars, usually loose in a tray at the coin shop, but they will cost a lot more for what they are than junk dimes, quarters, and halves, because they’re popular as silver dollars–you’re edging into “numismatic” territory here. Finally: the part-silver “war nickels” from 1942-1945, identifiable from the fact that the manganese in them turned black AND the large letter over the dome of Monticello (that’s the mint mark) don’t trade in this market. At least, I haven’t ever seen them offered as bullion–but then I never really went looking, either. They contain 0.05626 ounces of silver in them, which is more than half as much as a silver dime…fancy that. (Silver was so cheap relative to gold at the time that none of our silver coinage at the time was worth even close to face value.)

Is there such a thing as “junk gold”? Sort of. There are plenty of US gold coins–some even desirable to a numismatist–that sell for just barely over their melt value, simply because that melt value is high. You could buy one of those. If you buy one that’s just barely of numismatic interest, you might not lose that much money if gold drops. You could go look up prices, figure out how much the gold is worth (gold was 20.67 an ounce back then, so a $20 gold piece that is “junk” should sell for a bit more than gold spot; proportionately so for the $2 1/2, $5, and $10), and if the coin isn’t priced that much more, you can go for it. I’d buy something with the highest grade manageable because those are least likely to drop in value; these coins will almost certainly come in a certified holder with a grade on it. You shouldn’t technically rely on that grade but use your own judgment (which if you are a beginner, you don’t have!) but in this case it doesn’t matter that much.

How about the other metals? Nope, no junk rhodium. No junk palladium. The only other precious metal that ever got used in a circulating coin (other than via fraud by Spain) was platinum, and that was by Russia in 1828-1845. Those coins came in 3, 6, and 12 ruble denominations, weighing almost exactly 1/3, 2/3, and 1 1/3 ounces. And the sixes and twelves are all scarce to rare, selling for far more than their weight in platinum (try five figures). You might luck into a three ruble piece that is beat to hell and gone not selling for too much over a thousand bucks…but that’s still far more than the platinum is worth.

Watch the Spread

However you choose to pursue this, be aware of the spread. Find out not just how much the dealer is selling it for, but also what he’s buying it for. These two numbers are different; this is how he pays for his lunch. And his mortgage. For example, gold eagles often sell for more money than other gold coins. But they also are bought for more money. The dealers have to make a living, and they do so based on that buy/sell spread. You want to pick a product that has the narrowest buy/sell spread possible, because that represents how far the price has to move before you can make your money back. For example, if they want $1850 for an eagle, but are willing to pay $1825, that’s a better deal than a Canadian Maple leaf selling for $1830…but they’re willing to pay you $1790 for it. Even though the Eagle is $20 more expensive. Because in the first case, you can make your money back after gold goes up $25, in the second, you have to wait for it to go up $40. The same sort of considerations apply to rounds, junk silver, and the like. (And this is why new jewelry is often a terrible buy for such purposes–though second hand might not be so bad–the first owner paid for the artist’s labor.) But, as with everything else, there is a caveat…the spreads themselves can change with time, and what’s true today can be not true five years down the line. But a really huge difference in spread between Major Well Known Refinery’s platinum bar versus Fly By Night Platinum Company’s bar probably won’t change all that much.

Junk silver has a wide spread and if you’re a major investor it sucks for that reason, but if you are expecting a huge price hike, or the end of the world, it has its advantages. If you find yourself in some post-apocalyptic market trying to buy a head of cabbage, a silver dime is the right size; a one ounce gold eagle will be a pain in the ass, if not impossible, to get change made for and you’ll probably not get all the change you should because of that (you’re paying them for the pain-in-the-ass factor). I’m sure I need not make snide remarks about moneychangers to this audience, though in this context, they have to make a living too. (The objections, in the Bible, were to them doing their business on Temple grounds.) Because of all of this, I do have a notable amount of junk silver–bought years ago when it was a lot cheaper. It’s part of the picture; I wouldn’t want it to be all of it…but if it’s what you can afford to do, it’s better than nothing!

In that mode, I have another combination coin collectiong/bullion story to tell. I went to a coin show with a couple of gold eagles just in case I found a coin I really wanted to buy (gold was a lot cheaper back then) but didn’t quite have the money for. Sure enough, there was something I didn’t have the cash for. “Can you take a trade for some of it?” I asked. The dealer asked me with some trepidation what it was I was offering to trade. After all, it could be something he’d have no use for, and he’d have to sell it to some other dealer and get less than it was worth so that dealer could make his lunch money–what a pain! I pulled out a gold eagle. His eyes showed his relief. One of those is instantly negotiable at a coin show as if it were a really odd-denominated piece of paper money. If nothing else he could walk over to the APMEX table and sell it. Of course so could I, so I basically got what it was worth in trade, just so he could save some time and not have to wait for me to run over there and make the deal. I even got some regular money back as change. Moneychanging, indeed!

Finally, there’s the issue of spot prices. Which by the way are now (Kitco Ask):

Gold $1785.60
Silver $27.36
Platinum $1276.00
Palladium $2412.00
Rhodium $23,000.00

(Rhodium is insanely rare stuff, and tends–in the long term–to go up and down a lot. I’ve seen it as low as $400…but that was 20 years ago. And back then you couldn’t buy it as bars, you had to buy it by the 50 kg lot as powder. Now PAMP makes bars and I don’t make nearly enough money. Gold bullion taste…chicken bullion budget!)

Anyhow, the issue of spot prices. You’ll never pay spot. You’ll invariably pay a bit over it, and that amount will fluctuate. And sometimes spot does something crazy, like taking a major dump, and no one will have any precious metals for you to buy. Sure, silver spot is fifteen bucks that day after the huge drop, but there’s no silver to be had. Some coin shops will have a tray full of miscellaneous silver rounds…and the price card on the tray will say something like $3 over spot. That means they’ll look at the spot price at that instant, and add three bucks to it, there’s your price. (And that implicitly means “per ounce” so if there’s a two ounce round in there it will cost you six bucks over the spot price of two ounces of silver.)

Spot prices tend to be a product, largely, of the futures market and doesn’t reflect what people will pay for physical metal that day, on Main Street.

I have deliberately given you no advice on whether to do this. That’s because I have no idea what’s going to happen in the market. Of late silver seems steadier than gold, which seems to be sliding. Even platinum (which has been ridiculously cheap lately compered to gold) seems to be doing well, going up mostly. But that could turn around at any time. I venture no predictions. I am not responsible if you run off and buy a bunch, and the price drops, because I haven’t told you to do so or even claimed it’s a good idea. All I’ve done is given you some pointers on how things work, and what kinds of products there are, and how you might evaluate them compared to each other. You can lose money on this. I know people who ran up their plastic buying gold and silver back in the early 2000s…and lost their shirts and ended up with monster credit card debt. I’ve been mauled and even eaten by that bear a few times myself (though never with plastic), and no one else was responsible for that.

If you want some notion of the bewildering array of different products out there, check out kitco.com and apmex.com But also check out your local coin shop(s), and price shop all of them and the internet, IF you decide to go forward with this.

He confirms that Biden is not flying with callsign AF1. Does not say it suggest anything, just that it is strange.

Also, still no active TFR over Mar-A-Lago.

I would not bet against this. China Joe was selected by the CCP because he will sell out anything and anybody.

Can you find the picture of Cocaine Mitch and Elaine with big smiles as JB is touching their daughter? That’s the one we need to take a long look at right now.

Yup! Found it!

I think that’s their daughters. They are really adorable. But Biden – wow. UGH!!!

I learned a new word today, for what this is.

Toucherism is sexual arousal based on grabbing or rubbing one’s hands against an unexpecting (and non-consenting) person. It usually involves touching breasts, buttocks or genital areas, often while quickly walking across the victim’s path.[1] Some psychologists consider toucherism a manifestation of frotteurism, while others distinguish the two.

This old man is disgusting.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yup. THAT’S OUR PEDOTUS.

Had to look up that “f” word. I file these under things that never occur to me and that I hope don’t occur again.😧 I think this does mesh with what Biden does.

“The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.

Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.”

My feelings exactly. This cannot be said enough. At this point, I don’t care who is running in 2024, or how to take back the Senate, yada yada yada! It doesn’t matter until the big elephant in the room is gone and all the poop is cleaned up.

I’ve got one antique Windows 8.1 system that I keep around exclusively for doing taxes. Unfortunately, it tends to be shoved aside during the many months I am not doing taxes.

And EVERY FARKIN’ TIME I try to start it up and make sure Windows Update completes, it has problems. And, of course, these are the sort of problems where it says it’s doing something, sits and spins for an hour, then confesses that it failed — and, unlike Linux, it won’t tell you what it tried to do, or why, and which parts worked and which parts failed.

I’m currently on hour six with this piece of #@$^@.

cthulhu

Just to be clear, of those six hours, I’ve only spent about 15 minutes online seeking solutions and and with my hands on a keyboard or mouse on the box — because it goes off into “spinning into nowhere” mode and won’t come back until it’s ready…

cthulhu

And, this time, I finally coaxed it to where it applied updates and wanted a reboot…..

I have this memory of sitting in on CS30 — assembler — and this other student is just starting to freak out. He’s going on about how cosmic rays can flip bits in memory or in processor registers, his voice is rising, and he’s clearly becoming hysterical….and the instructor, with a thick Germanic accent, starts going, “a computer is a fixed determinative device…..” like that’s supposed to bring this guy to ground.

I thought it was funny then, though I felt bad for the guy’s clear distress. It’s even funnier now when the constraints are so much wider.

cthulhu

….and….there’s more. Because, compared to apt, Microsoft update is stupid.

cthulhu

Hey, it takes a significant degree of self-organization to regenerate a head. Partial planaria are actually much smarter than apt. Microsoft update is in a completely different league of stupid — it does something, so it’s more than a rock; what it does fails more than it succeeds, so it’s less than a lichen.

piper567

Steve, that gave me a huge chuckle… haven’t thought ab planaria for decades!
I really enjoyed your opener today, and appreciate the amount of time spent in writing out all the information as you did.
I am very interested in silver in particular, although my interest, apart from Morgan Dollars, is more aligned with making jewelry.
But it’s v nice to have this info ab coinage. Much appreciated.
Thanks.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Very cool! Rugged, even!

cthulhu

And, then, there’s ECC memory and all that — which was commonly implemented back in the day and almost entirely blown-off now…..because weird radiation effects are about cross-section and time, and if your registers are under a water cooler and half the memory pages in your 128G DDR4 are tagged “old”, and will be refreshed in a few billionths of a second, who is going to care?

rayzorback

I remember when I bought 4 MEG of RAM to boost my home computer (DX466) past my computer at work (SX33?) (civil engineering – AutoCad R10).

Cost me $400 for those 4 MEGs. (circa early 1980’s)

They told me:
“It was more memory than I would EVER need or use”.

Yeah, that’s why the original IBMPC “gave away” its top 384K of address space for BS memory-mapped devices….Bill Gates thought that software would never need more than 640K to run.

cthulhu

So, I’m at that stage where I reboot, search for updates, apply the updates, reboot….and it’s been three cycles that were faster each cycle. I could go in there and find that the OS is up-to-date per Microsoft…..who recently had someone steal some of their source code. Poor hackers, I could have loaned them a Necronomicon for practice before they took a hit of the hard stuff…..

cthulhu

What kind of software are you running into that requires Win7SP1?

cthulhu

GIMP’s been able to handle CR3 files since 2.10.20, from June of last year. Maybe it’s time to look at Linux.

cthulhu

I didn’t forget, I meant in whatever application you’re preserving Win7 for.

And its dependencies.

And the horses they rode in on.

cthulhu

Yes, but it’s better still to get your data into the world of Linux so that it can be free.

As an example, I was down at the newsstand and I saw Linux Format magazine LXF272 — February 2021. Almost didn’t buy it. The cover disc was Ubuntu 20.04.1, which I’ve had for a while and even have running about 12″ from my left hand. Decided to get for (of all things) an article regarding pdf utilities (Linux allows you to do things to pdfs like nobody’s business — and if you can do it from the command line, you can do it in a loop).

Once you get any data in any format into Linux, you can find a utility to tweak it in any way you like — or a python application to do anything you want to it. Ain’t happenin’ in Windoze.

cthulhu

If you compose in Libre Office, it’s WYSIWYG.

BTW, did you know that LibreOffice Draw can directly edit pdf’s? I showed a local pizza shop founder how to do that when we got to talking about why his online menu sucked. “But they’re pdf’s….I’ll have to hire somebody or buy more software….”

Cuppa Covfefe

TechPowerUp has it as a download, KB976932-X64.exe (windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe
28D3932F714BF71D78E75D36AA2E0FB8 )(I suspect that’s the hash to verify it’s OK). It’s 903.2 MB, so that might not be helpful to your data budget…

Folks with MSDN or TechNet might have it, as it came in their downloads/DVDs a few times. M$haft have deprecated it off of their website (shafting as a service), sad to say.

Another possibility would be to look for WSUS Offline, if you can find an archived version of the Win7 database. I used that with the RyZen Win7 box I just built to put all the patches I need on without having to be on the internet. It also does Windoze8 and Windoze 1 0…. Office and other tools too (patches). You can pick and choose what you want to update, and leave out the nagware (win10 crud)… Again, it can be a bandwidth hog, so I don’t know if that would be OK.

michaelh

I had this problem with Windows 10 and ultimately I found there was a Windows Update Repair Tool or some such.

Why I need a repair tool to make Windows Update work I will never understand.

But I will say that after futzing with update, reboot, update tool, update, reboot, update tool for about 3 hours I was able to get the updates to apply.

In one case I suspect that an “old” version of VMware Workstation was incompatible with the driver updates and was causing it to fail. When I upgraded to a newer VMware Workstation release the problem seemed to disappear.

My wife’s machine typically will NOT restart after major updates and I will have to manually intervene to bring it back up, which was a major motivator for buying her a laptop.

Tax software is the “killer app”. I don’t need it, but there ain’t no way I’m doing it otherwise.

I refuse to use TurboTax. They gouged their prices and I will not use them.

cthulhu

The trick to both major tax programs (TurboTax and H&RBlock) is to buy them before the end of January. You can get advanced versions for <$30. If you wait until you have the majority of your stuff (March), you’ll pay >$50. You may have gotten gouged because you bought late.

Mind you, it may not be until you have most of your stuff that you can accurately determine what level of package you need…..but you can afford to overbuy a little bit, since the price will double before you are sure.

cthulhu

When you start hankerin’ for a quick death while barfing a system dump, it means you’re getting really, really, really, really, really irritated at the “I got this………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………I guess I didn’t” BS.

slowcreekno

Just read this long thread of woe… and I’ve been banging my head against the various editions of Windows for years myself. Might still be a t-shirt lying around here somewhere…

Thing is, after all this, of fixing things that shouldn’t need to be fixed if done right to begin with; we now see people expect to let the main man behind this charlie-foxtrot start pushing vaccines and «solutions» onto and into everyone. Like, what could go wrong?

(Epstein didn’t kill himself and Biden didn’t win.)

cthulhu

You do know that he can’t go to India, right? Introduced a vaccine that killed people and they want him in the dock.

slowcreekno

Yeah now that you mention it… that’s another good argument against. And if a computer is killed by a bad update, it can be re-formatted; the same thing doesn’t work on people. No subsequent chance there.

If I remember correctly, India also averted many covid-19 deaths by making hydrocloroquine and zink available to everyone. They don’t seem to have the same medical bureaucracy seen elsewhere. Good on them.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

And chicken bullion (LOL, good one) comes in gold foil cubes in a plastic jar at a fluctuating price. Precious only in my wife’s hands! 😉

Appreciate the advice! I already know the bare basics of coin collecting from my youth, when I “collected for fun”, but my PM buying is rather weak and scanty. Your point about owning some junk silver for barter is sage. I had been, in the back of my mind, thinking “Silver Eagles + necessity” will bring back “pieces of 8” very quickly, but just the thought of chopping up eagles into pie pieces is disturbing to a kid collector like me. So much more likely that the old silver coinage will immediately take real value.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

That’s why I like Eagles! People trust branding. My first gold was in fact the Krugerrand, and I remember that the “trust factor” was huge back then. As new gold coin denominations hit, opinions were everywhere about where trust should go. Now, people seem much happier with odd mintings, but I remember a lot of hesitancy about new offerings in those early days of gold’s return.

MAGA Mom

Unexpectedly snowed in on our hill for a week. We saw the weather coming and stopped by the store last Friday for a few extra things but never thought we would be homebound for over a week (we live on a steep hill so even though highways and main roads were fine we could go nowhere).

Had plenty of food but ran out of a few things. Salad mixed greens were gone several dsys ago so we started adding powdered kale to our morning smoothies for similar nutrition. Was an eye opener to have more of that on hand and some bags of frozen kale and spinach in the deep freeze.

Also ran out of nut butter. We don’t really eat that much nut butter but our dog had an issue for which he is still taking pills encased in nutbutter. My husband is giving him his meds and I had no idea we were low. We usually have an extra in the pantry but didn’t this time and wanted it for smoothies rather than just frozen fruit so as to help disguise the kale. Fruit is fine for the other things we put in our morning smoothies but the powdered kale, beets and broccoli need a strong flavor to hide them. Anyway, will make sure we always have more on hand and rotate through. Or maybe I will do that plus tuck 2 bottles of various nut butter away from the regular pantry as that is a good snack for son.

Other than that we were fine. Ran out of a few things we wanted but not needed. Had milk in the deep freeze so never missed a cup of coffee.

Had eggs in the deep freeze plus plenty of fresh on hand. We do have some dried powered eggs on hand but that is only if we really need them as I have not had good luck cooking them after I have dried them. The frozen eggs are fine to eat and we sometimes cook them just because we like the recipes but the dried eggs just don’t come back very well.

Had dried fruit from snacking when we ran out of fresh fruit.

Did learn that we go through veggies much faster than we realized so will keep more on hand in the deep freeze to rotate through + some more canned goods. Not even close to out but just surprised at the rate we ate through the veggies. (Hard to keep a 14 yr old boy full! ha)

Had 2 basic household items that we had let get low and just had to remember next day’s run to the store … and then the next day was suddenly a full week. No biggie but a good reminder to keep a back up and consider ourselves “out” when we use the back up just like we do for important items like pet food and bathroom tissue. Being out of dental floss isn’t earth shaking but it was inconvenient.

Lessons learned. One never knows when we may suddenly not have access to grocery stores as we have seen over and over again this past 12 months. Last spring, we were actually more prepared than for this past week as we saw that coming (to some extent only – had no idea it was going to be what it was). This last week was a good reminder to stay stocked and continue to rotate as we never know when there will be interruptions to access to our consumables.

The snow has been Beautiful and the ice in the trees makes the scenery look like a winter wonderland. But ready for the roads to open up and feel so badly for those in TX with all of their issues + the road conditions for those who must be out are so worrisome. Glad most roads are clear, at least in TN, now.

MAGA Mom

Ran out of bird food and that was upsetting as birds were stil coming to our station and we ran out just when they needed it the most. Almost sent my husband hiking into town for birdseed but I just closed my curtains instead. 🙁 We still had a little there but not nearly enough. Lesson learned! Always keep Plenty of pet food on hand and rotate the backs ups. Will do that for birdseed from here forward.

singingsoul1

Oh yes the birds. We buy 25lb bags and my husband is the man who has different types of bird food at hand. We have a 3 foot wall and then a slope toward the house. We grow old type of flours there English garden . Many flowers have seeds the birds like. We leave them during the winter looks also nice.
The birds are my cats entertainment. We have about six different bird feeders for different birds. The deer come up and sometimes eat bird food. They also if desperate did out flowers they eat. I do not mind just plant new in the spring.

MAGA Mom

Sounds lovely

singingsoul1

Somehow I stocked up well. Making green smoothy add frozen banana and dried blue berries.
I always have 3-5 doz organic egg in the house. My dogs get every morning in their food an raw egg yoke. Their fur is beautiful and does not shed that is a plus 🙂

MAGA Mom

We give our dog 2 eggs every morning as well + his regular dog food. He still sheds but is happy and has smooth soft fur.

MAGA Mom

Interesting that a Murdock owned news outlet is putting out this kind of video.
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/sky-news-australia/

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Excellent observation.

I have a theory.

Murdoch and Fox were experienced in their UniParty task of “upholding the right edge of the Overton Window – what people are allowed to believe.

Well, let’s play with that a bit. What people believe only really matters if it’s something where their perceptions matter – like their own country’s politics. Sure, there are always “fake elections” to correct the masses when they’re REALLY WRONG, but it’s easier and safer to control what they think about what they can actually vote about, or otherwise affect, and keep it all within tolerances.

SO – the strategy to make people fall into “Right Overton Traps” like Fox News would be to show them hideous right-wing admissions – but about THE OTHER GUY’S POLITICS. That way the audience can be baited in and outraged with “surely somebody is going to do something about this NOW!!!” – but it’s the WRONG AUDIENCE, so it never gets fixed.

Cunning how their schemes all work.

MAGA Mom

Interesting. I have no trust in them but wondered what they were up to. Why were they publishing/airing things in other countries they wouldn’t publish/air in the US?

If they are doing it there why not do it here for same purposes?

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

That’s what I’m saying – for THEIR purposes it’s counterproductive to say these things in OUR markets.

You have to understand – Fake News is not about “news” per se. It’s about controlling what we think, under the GUISE of news.

What is GREAT BAIT in their market, with no significant downside in Australian politics (meaning benefit to the right), is ACTUAL FOOD in ours. It would change what people think about Biden – and in the WRONG WAY from the Murdoch perspective.

Fox always had LIMITS – like “can’t say Soros”. Some of that is purely legal, but some of it is because Fox literally takes a position on things.

Things you never saw on Fox:

How Much of QAnon is Real?

Which Trump Team Members May be Involved In the QAnon Project?

Eric Holder’s Radical Past: An Investigation

Obama’s Communist Mentor – A History.

Questions About Obama’s Parentage

Loretta Lynch – Family Friend of the Holders

Nobody at Fox COULD touch this stuff.

JasonD

Plus, if they drive a wedge between Aus and the USA, then that weakens the West and plays into Chyna’s hands.

Central to their strategy is to weaken nation states in order to offer the Safe Haven of Globalism.

The plan is to sow chaos and rush in with the “solution” …..

This is their near term goal which DJT delayed ….

JasonD

Not sure how this ties into your theory, if at all. But here goes my 2c worth.

The universities have been pushing post modernism (questions everything about the modern world view -it deconstructs modernism) and has launched cultural relativism into the West. Every culture is a valid expression, because there is no such thing as objective truth – one of the “lies” of the modern world view according to PoMo.

Big Tech is now weaponizing this PoMo world view against the consumers of its products. It is mining us for our behavioural characteristics, floating little trial balloons against us to see in which ways we can be “nudged” – it is doing all this by deploying their AI algorithms to learn from what we pay attention to.

And it goes one level beyond this. They are using this tech to continually adjust the NARRATIVE that they are constructing. They are learning from us to enslave us by by cobbling together a Frankenstinain Monter Narrative that is a hybrid of all cultures. Object, and you are rayciss white nationalist cultural elitist Nazi – whatever slur works. And they are testing and adopting different slurs to see which are most effective. The MSM is a critical part of their armory.

They are doing this to control us and keep themselves in power. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate as many of us as they can, initially in a subtle manner, but then it will become overt, like the Uighurs in China. China is too overt for their current sensibilities, but they will soon see the necessity of this action as consistent with their world view. They are close to accepting this as their duty to save the planet from us, since they are the elite who were “chosen” for this moment to “save the planet”.

The Beast is finally fully awake and ready to crawl out of its hole to let us all have a good look at it.

The Christians are now the new Jews the way the left has labeled nationalists. I have seen results when speaking to Trump haters who rejected Christianity. The hate in their voice about Christians is as bad as their hate of Trump. I see their posture changes their eyes and then what comes out of their mouth. I feel the hate that energy is mind blowing.
The good thing is I do not react and just stare at them and then they become aware of themselves. I just smile and I can tell they feel like smocks.
The thing is reacting fuels their outrage. I refuse to feed it 🙂
I said to one person when they spouted off about Christians” if they are baptized ?” the person said “as little baby I was.” I then proceeded ” then you are a Christian.” I did not dare say “unless you denounce Christ.”
Anyone who is baptized is a Christian. 🙂 We need to remind them of that.

scott467

“I said to one person when they spouted off about Christians” if they are baptized ?” the person said “as little baby I was.” I then proceeded ” then you are a Christian.” I did not dare say “unless you denounce Christ.””

___________

I know this goes against hundreds of years of traditions (of Men) observed in some churches, but I am not aware of a single example of a baby being baptized in the Bible.

In every example of baptism in Scripture, the person was of an age old enough to hear and understand the gospel, recognize their lost condition, confess Christ, repent of their sins, and then they were baptized into Christ.

There was always knowledge and understanding. No one ever had baptism done to them, or performed on them, either against their will or without their knowledge.

If it was possible to baptize and save people and make them Christians against their will or without their knowledge, I would probably spend a lot of time in local jails for pushing people into swimming pools and ponds and such, and pronouncing them ‘baptized’ in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit before they could get out of the water.

Don’t think I wouldn’t do it… 😁

And I would expect all Christians to do the same…

Why isn’t that happening?

I mean, if the lost can be saved against their will or without their knowledge, and WE can make it happen, shouldn’t everybody be afraid to be near water without a swim suit on, whenever Christians might be around?

If infants can be baptized without knowledge or understanding, why can’t adults?

Where is the logical consistency?

scott467

Which should lead to the next logical question, because tens of millions of people around the world believe in the doctrine of infant baptism.

If infant baptism makes no sense and isn’t found anywhere in Scripture, then who invented it, and for what purpose?

I’m always fascinated that almost no one ever asks these immediately obvious questions, especially when the answers are usually obvious.

And it didn’t take long to figure out why so many people never ask. I call it the “Jenga Tower” principle.

If you ask questions, and there aren’t any good answers (or worse, the answers reveal religious error), it could topple the whole enchilada.

Because error never exists in a vacuum. It is almost always built upon some previous error.

And that error was built on the foundation of an earlier error. And so on, and so on.

So if you ask a question about any one of them, and error is exposed, it collapses everything ‘above’ it.

And unless people really love the truth, that’s usually not a good way to become popular in a congregation… 😂🤣😂

But at least they could rebuild, hopefully on a solid foundation of God’s Word. If they tear all the other error out, all the way down to the solid foundation of God’s Word.

Unless the church in question has bequeathed itself a doctrine of infallibility. That complicates things… as error always does. Some more than others, but that’s a BIG one.

Because if just one of their doctrines is ever shown to be false — and church doctrine is claimed to be infallible — that’s like taking off and nuking the entire site from orbit.

And obviously that can never be allowed to happen.

So the only thing they can do is create new doctrines of men to paper over the error discovered in old doctrines of men. And that’s exactly what men always do in that situation, because what else are they going to do?

Nobody has to be a prophet to see that coming from a millennium away. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

If a church’s doctrine is claimed to be infallible, and then someone points out obvious and undeniable error in one or more of that church’s infallible doctrines, that puts the lie to any claim of infallibility.

And if the supposed infallible church was wrong about any doctrine, and therefore wrong about being infallible in doctrine, then the next obvious question is — what else are they wrong about?

And that’s how the whole ball of yarn, all the doctrines, commandments and traditions of men, would come unraveled.

The leadership would be exposed, and held accountable, and lose their livelihoods and their privileges.

Their works would no longer be seen of men: they could no longer make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments.

No longer could the enjoy the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats, or greetings in the markets, and called of men by religious titles like ‘Father’ or ‘Priest’ or ‘Cardinal’, etc.

Obviously this can never be allowed to happen, at least not in any church that has a top-down pyramid power structure with one man at the top, and layers of middle and lower managers between themselves and the congregation.

In the history of Man, when have men in high places or with great wealth ever allowed either scandal or truth to dislodge them from their position or their place, if they could prevent it?

In earlier times it was much simpler to deal with people who asked questions. Church leadership could just ‘cancel’ someone. Brand them a ‘heretic’, ruin their standing in the local village or hamlet, turn everyone against them, and then murder them the old fashioned way, i.e., in the name of Christ.

Lucky for us, humanity has evolved a long way since then. Or to paraphrase the great Virginia Slim, we’ve come a long way, baby

So thankfully, nothing like that could ever happen today… 🙄 😂 🤣 😂

But one thing never changes.

People always hate truth, if it happens to be their ox which is being gored. And anything which is not truth will be gored, sooner or later.

Fortunately, there is a simple and easy solution to that problem.

Don’t have an ox… possess the truth instead 🙂

I have heard about that tradition, the first time was from a close and dear friend of our family, who I have no doubt meant very well.

I wasn’t cognizant enough at the time to ask the questions I would ask today, in Christian compassion and love.

Is there any example in Scripture of godparents (or ‘godfather’ or ‘godmother’) — or is this concept a creation of men?

Is there any example in Scripture of someone being baptized in infancy and then being confirmed at some later time — or is this concept a creation of men?

Is there any example in Scripture of denominations — or is this concept a creation of men?

Online Bibles make these things very easy to do a word search and check. I usually use this one: https://www.blueletterbible.org/

If it should turn out that these concepts are creations of men, and not of God, then of what use or value are they?

Is God bound by the doctrines, traditions or commandments of men?

If God’s Word says one thing, and men have told us something else, who (or Whom) are we to follow and obey — man, or God?

…………………….
“Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29, KJV)
…………………….

There is always a danger of taking a particular verse out of context.

Is there any context wherein that verse is not true and applicable?

cthulhu

My suspicion would be that these are indeed works of men and not of God, but are founded in compassion and Love.

If we are born tainted by Original Sin, but need to sincerely accept the Grace brought by Jesus in order to be saved……what, then, of the children? They can’t sincerely do anything since their morals — indeed, their very perceptions — are still forming.

I would expect these practices to have been dramatically accelerated around the time Dante’s Cosmos was taking shape — with Limbo, Purgatory, and maps of Heaven and Hell (which, for all I know, predate Dante by centuries — he merely provided a tour).

The idea that baptism of an infant might shelter them and shorten their path to Heaven, should they not be mature enough to fully take on Grace before their demise, would be immensely appealing.

“My suspicion would be that these are indeed works of men and not of God, but are founded in compassion and Love.”

__________

It would be nice to think that, it might at least somewhat let the inventors of these doctrines off the hook… but how can it ever be truthfully said that lies which deceive men into losing their souls are founded in compassion or love?

If we love someone as we should, and we want for them to be saved, why would we ever tell them to be saved in a way that God never said?

With the potential, maybe even likely result being that the person spends their life believing they are saved, only to find out differently at the Judgment?

Somehow I don’t think that soul will consider that whoever deceived him in life to take an errant path, did so as an act of love or compassion…

.

“If we are born tainted by Original Sin,”

_________

As “If’s” (assumptions) go, that’s a pretty big one, isn’t it?

There is a pattern in how I approach these things which the keen-eyed observer (😁) will eventually begin to notice, and that is to compare the things men say to what God’s Word says, to find out whether the things men say are so… or not.

Between reading the Bible at least a couple times, and using the word-search feature available on many online Bible websites, figuring out whether something is ‘in there’ or not is pretty easy to do.

And I can’t take credit for this approach, it was taught to me by a man of God:

………..
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11, KJV)
………..

Paul was teaching the Bereans. Not Paul from the block, Paul the Apostle… 😂

Even so, the Bereans weren’t about to just take Paul’s word for anything, they did the ancient equivalent of sportscaster Warner Wolf’s famous expression, “Let’s go to the tape!

They checked what Paul taught against what the Scriptures actually said, to see for themselves, whether the things Paul taught were so.

If everyone followed this one practice, I would guess at least 90% of the error would vanish from Christianity, and with it, at least 90% of the division would vanish, too.

But tribalism is a powerful force. Most people will cling stubbornly to their own particular group’s traditions and doctrines of men, and no amount of reason, or even God’s own Word, will dissuade them from it.

We are a stiffnecked people.

Was it not the same, even when Jesus taught men on earth?

.

“If we are born tainted by Original Sin,”

___________

Who, what, when, where and why?

Who says we are tainted by Original Sin? Where does that idea come from? When did this become a doctrine, and why did it develop? What is it really about?

We’ll get to the answers soon.

.

“If we are born tainted by Original Sin, but need to sincerely accept the Grace brought by Jesus in order to be saved……what, then, of the children? They can’t sincerely do anything since their morals — indeed, their very perceptions — are still forming.”

__________

Exactly. Children are innocent.

Normal people have always understood this, it takes a concerted effort of religious hokum to convince normal people to take leave of their senses on this matter.

And as you already deduced, infant baptism was the religious error created to solve the “new problem” created by the errant doctrine of ‘original sin’.

Why is it that people suddenly became so overwhelmed with concern about babies, that they created a whole new doctrine out of whole cloth, and began baptizing babies?

What caused this radical departure from God’s Word? Most error creeps in gradually, in small steps, otherwise it is easily spotted and stopped.

So what caused this new doctrine to come about?

A baby has committed no sin, doesn’t even understand sin, so what need has a baby to baptized and saved?

Did God forget about the babies?

What about all the babies who were born between the 1st century and whenever Men figured out and corrected God’s apparently forgetful mistake, and invented ‘infant baptism’ to fix God’s error?

All those children who died in infancy without being baptized… were all (or any) of those babies ‘lost’ and now destined for eternity in Hell?

When the souls who died in infancy are before Christ on Judgment Day, what sin is Jesus going to condemn them for?

Being born?

Crying?

Pooping in their diaper?

Would the Righteous, Just and Perfect King of Kings condemn an innocent baby?

How is it that this doctrine called ‘original sin’, in which people are taught to believe we are born ‘damned’, the moment we come out of the womb, came about?

Leading to the fear that precious babies would go to hell if they died, which in a straight-line progression, lead to MEN inventing ‘infant baptism’?

Who is responsible for this doctrine of ‘original sin’?

According to Wiki:

………………..
“It began to emerge in the 3rd century but only became fully formed with the writings of Augustine of Hippo (354–430), who was the first author to use the phrase “original sin” (Latin: peccatum originale). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_sin
…………………

Began “to emerge” from WHAT, exactly?

This is how they always get away with error, they try not to get caught assigning it to any particular individual.

It usually just sort of ’emerges’ from the murky mists of time, apparently from the primordial ooze of ‘the clergy’, bubbling up like some potion in a cauldron full of “Let’s see what we can mess with next“…

The website http://www.bible.ca has some helpful information on the subject, including information from Roman Catholic sources, which are always interesting.

……………………….
https://www.bible.ca/catholic-flip-flops-baptism-infant.htm

1) “There is no express mention of the baptism of infants in the New Testament” (Question Box, p. 23).

.

2) “It is difficult to give strict proof from the scriptures in favor of it. [infant baptism]” (Catholic Dictionary, p. 61).

.

3) “Ecclesiastical custom with regard to the administration of Baptism has undergone a change in the course of history. Whereas the early Church baptized adults only, the baptism of children soon became the usual practice.” (Sanford, Alexander E., MD, Pastoral Medicine: Handbook for the Catholic Clergy, 1904, p 32-33)

.

4) “Where in the fourth and fifth centuries the doctrine of original sin became better known, the practice of infant baptism progressed rapidly.” (Legislation on the Sacraments in the New Code of Canon Law, p. 72) (boldface emphasis mine)

Me: Note the ’cause and effect’ relationship, with one errant doctrine leading to the next one, to fix the ‘problem’ created by the first one.

.

5) “When all fear of persecution had passed away, and the empire had become almost entirely Christian, the necessity for a prolonged period of trial and instruction no longer existed, about the same time the fuller teaching on the subject of original sin, occasioned by the Pelagian heresy, gradually led to the administration of baptism of infants.” (Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. V, p. 78). (boldface emphasis mine)

.

6) Infant baptism by immersion commanded of all infants in the Council Of Mela in 416 AD.
…………………………

.

As always, when Men decide they know better than God and seek to add (or subtract) from His Word, the question to ask is, what could go wrong?

Well, for one thing, Who is the Author of the plan of Salvation — is it Man, or God?

What does God’s Word say?

……………
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6, KJV)
……………

Does anybody see Augustine of Hippo’s name, or anyone else, in that verse?

Who are we listening and paying attention to — men or God?

I only keep saying it over and over again because it (i.e., following after the doctrines, commandments and traditions of men, instead of God and His Word) must be the primary source of religious error and division in all the world.

.

So back to the question: what could go wrong?

With regard to infant baptism, what if an infant who was subjected to a baptism ceremony by well-intentioned parents hasn’t actually been baptized (according to God’s plan) into Christ at all?

What if that child then grows up believing he or she was baptized, and so he or she never sees the need to be baptized according to God’s Word, after reaching the age of being able to understand why they are being baptized and what for?

Could such a person not very easily live their whole lives, believing they are ‘saved’, when in fact, they are not?

Is that scenario not a whole lot more plausible than believing innocent babies are condemned to Hell if they aren’t baptized according to the doctrine of some man in the 4th century, at least 300+ years after the Scriptures were completed?

Whenever Men create some new doctrine, which by definition is not of God, it always creates new problems. In addition to the guaranteed drama, which I suspect many people are secretly enthralled by. The drama of conflict…

And then those problems, once they ‘begin to emerge‘, must be dealt with.

And as a practical matter, the only way they ever seem to be dealt with is by creating yet more new doctrines…

Because the only other option is to admit that Saint Bozo of Clownsburg got it wrong… and the leadership of the whole church followed him into error, right into the ditch…

No offense meant to Clownsburg or anyone who hails from there, I could just as easily have picked Saint Bupkis of Boondoggle — and just like Clownsburg, I’m sure the residents of Boondoggle are wonderful people.

The point is not to denigrate anyone, but to illustrate, hopefully with a little humor, that these are mortal, fallible men, just like all of us today.

But the ramifications of the church following an errant doctrine are millions of souls being lost between the creation of the doctrine, and when the problem with the doctrine ‘began to emerge’… but if they ever admit that, the membership of the church would likely kill them all… at least in ye olden times.

So presto change-o, there’s a new doctrine to cover up the error of the old doctrine.

And so it goes (and goes, and goes).

It might even be funny, if the consequences were not so serious.

And eternal.

And nobody ever wants to talk about that.

Because “muh doctrines“… and because it’s normal to not want to risk being hated for pointing out contradictions between what people have been taught to believe, and what God’s Word actually says.

The same foibles and social dynamics that cause so much trouble in the world are likewise present and wreaking havoc in the church, because the common denominator is people.

The only effective solution of which I am aware, to the continual errors of men, is to compare the things men say to what God’s Word says.

Not to what other men back in the murky mists of time have said, in some human daisy-chain of rationalization and justification.

Compare it to what God’s Word says.

Because even if the doctrine in question had the approval of Iraneus, or Chrysostom, or Aquinas, or Luther, or Knox, or Calvin, or even Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker — which of them, or anyone else, is a higher Authority than God?

None of them are, and nobody ever will be.

So why do people follow after the doctrines, commandments and traditions of men?

No matter how great any man is, he’s not greater than God, or even able to be mentioned in the same breath as God.

And no man can save us, only God can.

If a man — any man — says something, it’s either in God’s Word, or it isn’t.

And if it isn’t, then why would anyone practice it or believe it?

Baptism is symbolic of change of ownership. (Traditions of Jesus’s culture.)

Christian parents have their child baptized to seal them as belonging to God.

And nothing in God’s nature contradicts such an act.

“Baptism is symbolic of change of ownership. (Traditions of Jesus’s culture.)”

__________

Are we saved by following Jesus’ cultural traditions, or by grace through faith? (cf. Ephesians 2:8)
Faith in what?

In God?

Whose Word is Scripture?

Is it not God’s Word?

If we are saved by grace through faith in God and His Word, won’t we be obedient to God and His Word?

Does God’s Word not teach baptism, by both example and command?

Can an infant have faith?

Can a parent have faith for an infant?

Is there any example in God’s Word of an infant being baptized?

If the concept is not found in God’s Word, then is it not of men, by definition?

Can man — or the ideas of men — save us?

.

“Christian parents have their child baptized to seal them as belonging to God.”

___________

That may very well be their intent, I do not doubt that the act is well intentioned.

But by what reason of logic would any such sealing take place, if the idea is of men, and not of God?

Can God be conscripted into serving the designs of man?

Who is the Potter, and who is the clay?

Is the clay the Author of salvation, or the Potter?

.

“And nothing in God’s nature contradicts such an act.”

___________

Even if it were possible to prove that as true, how would the act accomplish man’s objective, if the act is not according to God’s plan of salvation?

If man cannot save himself, then by extension neither can man save anyone else, only God can save us.

Can we bind God to save us according to our ideas about salvation, or are we obliged to follow His plan?

What can we know about God’s nature, with any degree of certainty, which He has not revealed to us in His Word?

Thank you for raising an excellent point, is the modern practice of ‘sprinkling’ or ‘pouring’ for baptism Scriptural, or is it always by immersion in New Testament Christianity?

When did “sprinkling” or “pouring” for baptism begin?

By whose Authority?

If it was not God’s idea, then by definition, was it not the idea of some man?

And whoever that man was, does that person have the power to save you?

What does the underlying Koine Greek word ‘baptizō‘ mean?

Outline of Biblical usage:

1) to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk)

2) to cleanse by dipping or submerging, to wash, to make clean with water, to wash one’s self, bathe

3) to overwhelm

.

Strong’s Definitions:
baptízō, bap-tid’-zo; from a derivative of G911; to immerse, submerge; to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism:—Baptist, baptize, wash.

.

Vine’s Expository Dictionary:
101
Verb
Strong’s Number: g907
Greek: baptizo

Baptism, Baptist, Baptize:
“to baptize,” primarily a frequentative form of bapto, “to dip,” was used among the Greeks to signify the dyeing of a garment, or the drawing of water by dipping a vessel into another, etc. Plutarchus uses it of the drawing of wine by dipping the cup into the bowl (Alexis, 67) and Plato, metaphorically, of being overwhelmed with questions (Euthydemus, 277 D).

When ever sprinkling began have no clue.
Maybe some pope began that practice then Lutherans continued. I have never seem a person dunked into water in Europe. Have seen it here sometimes I wondered if they tried to drown the poor people 🙂 I am sure there was a reason to sprinkle.
Babies being baptized as explained to me was so if something happens to them like die that they too were Christians and could go to heaven. Christ did say to bring little children. Maybe we too would be at times better off to be like little children? 🙂
Personally I do not believe God carers if we are sprinkled or dunked into water when baptized. To me it is more in what spirit and with spirit a person is baptized young or adult. A lot of things we do as Christians are man made rituals and it is really not about the rituals dunked sprinkled we care but I doubt God carers.
I have known Presbyterians being dunked in a river and baptized again. They had a need after they were born again. I never had the need.

Biden was actually being honest, but apparently TRUTH is ‘rayciss’ now?

This guy is so concerned about NOT being perceived as rayciss that he feels compelled to virtue-signal his ‘unrayciss’ by embracing cultural blasphemy.

EVERYBODY should care about this kind of social manipulation by cultural Marxists you dipshit, it’s NOT rayciss to observe when Marxist cultural propaganda is being pumped down your throat through a fire hose.

It’s the same thing they do with the homosexual agenda.

If someone is homosexual, that’s their business, but it’s not ANY business of corporate America to promote homosexuality. Likewise if two people from different races fall in love and want to spend their lives together, that’s their business… WTH is corporate America so obsessed with portraying it as ubiquitous?!?

What is the cultural objective behind that massive propaganda push?

I mentioned it here just a week or so ago. I hardly see TV anymore, so when I do, the ‘messaging’ really stands out, because I’m not numb to it like I used to be.

Every other commercial is bi-racial or homosexual or anything but white. You’d think blacks make up 75% of the population and homosexuals were 50% of the population, going by the propagandamercials run back to back to back every 12 minutes in perpetuity.

WTH is going on?

That’s not an accident, it’s a coordinated and concentrated effort to ‘push’ a political agenda disguised as ‘advertising’.

It’s psychological warfare against a civilian population, who aren’t even allowed to know that a war is being waged against them.

Agree 100%

The most significant FACT, not understood even by many (in my personal experience) who notice the phenomenon and comment upon it, is how commercial advertisement has been 90% given over to propaganda and cultural manipulation with a political (communist) motivation.

This is part of the corollary FACT that American corporations have become platforms for communist indoctrination and coercion.

The NY Post (which I read online every day) has spent the past year or so promoting a human being by the name of Lizzo as sexy and beautiful, exactly the way for four years they promoted Big Mike as sexy, glamourous and a physical beauty.

Lizzo weighs over 400 pounds and is (IMO) not sexy or beautiful. Also IMO the poor woman is being exploited most cruelly.

Just a guess, but 92.5 % of those who even think about the matter, think Lizzo is physically repulsive. And “they” know that. That’s the point. The CCP masters must be laughing their posteriors off, mocking America and getting away with it, and knowing that the mocking is effective psychological manipulation/destruction to boot.

I am going to bet that in China morbid obesity is not promoted as sexy and glamorous, nor is transgenderism EVER promoted on a human rights-must believe basis, nor homosexuality, nor various other degradations.

Aubergine

What they are doing, Scott, is convincing white people that they are “lesser” for being born white.

And the reason they have to do that is America is over 70% white, and if white people ever wake the fuck up and realize that, the efforts of the establishment to put the minority in control of the majority is OVER.

White people can (and in my opinion, should) tribalize just like minority communities do. Why should we be oppressed for the color we were born with? I think this is coming, because more and more people are realizing what is happening with the “woke” culture.

There are more of us than there are of them in more ways than one. I don’t believe in any form of racism. The only way there is NO racism is for race to be irrelevant.

singingsoul1

That happens in a culture that only focuses on race. I like my whiteness and i like my neighbors blackness. I like big eyes and I like Asian eyes. That is all superficial to me what counts is the character. I have met white racists and black resists. I have cried with a black women who had never heard that she too was God’s beloved until that day in the retread I gave. God touched her and healed her soul.
I have a strange way of thinking I believe all experiences are for a purpose so God can use us for the good. What is the saying? “Unless we walk in the shoes of others we do not understand?” Something like that.
How much wisdom and truth is in that.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Much as I love seeing race carders in a tizzy, this just seems like the wrong thing to be banning, and if it’s part of a bill, I’ll bet it’s designed to be “given up”.

The thing that really needs removal is MAIL-OUT BALLOTS. The thing that needs adding on is ENFORCED CLOSE WITNESSES. Zero social distancing. Use people in bubble suits if you have to, but there can be no more of this closed-door tabulation crap – this “stand 10 feet away” – etc. In fact, I would love to see a requirement that EVERY poll worker be LIVE-STREAMED AND RECORDED, so that the entire tabulation – every single act – could be REVIEWED.

MAGA Mom

The Sunday voting is just one of many proposals. The point isn’t to stop Sunday voting per se. they are trying to make voting uniform across the state v. leaving so much up to the counties. More uniformaty = easier to moniter.

Other bills have been introduced and all contain many other reforms/changes. The Sunday voting is just the one that is getting the headlines the most.

“Like other bills making their way through the GOP-controlled legislature, there would be a new photo ID requirement for absentee ballots. The bill would require voters to include their driver’s license number, state ID number or a copy of an acceptable form of photo ID. The driver’s license number or state ID number is already required for a new online request portal for Georgia voters, and photo ID is required to vote in person.”

“One section appears to target mobile voting buses in Fulton County, which includes part of Atlanta. They were used during early voting to provide several pop-up polling locations in the Atlanta area under a recent Georgia law that allows early voting sites to be held at any location that is an Election Day polling place.

Some changes would give county elections workers more flexibility and greater staffing for polling locations, such as a tweak that would allow poll workers to operate sites in adjoining counties instead of just the county of their residence. Another would allow officials leeway in the requirement of voting equipment for typically lower-turnout primaries and runoffs.

However, the deadline for results to be counted and certified would move up four days sooner to the Monday after the election.”
https://www.npr.org/2021/02/19/969497398/georgia-republicans-file-sweeping-elections-bill-to-limit-early-and-absentee-vot

Fleming’s bill revives a measure supported by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger last year that would require precincts with over 2,000 voters and waiting times over one hour to add more workers, more machines or split the precinct.”

My two cents is to compromised on the Sunday voting and pass the rest – if the rest is good – I am not in GA and have not read it. Hopefully there are active MAGA conservatives who are reading it and are active in getting the word out. Watch dogging our state legislatures is so important and a big job. So thankful for those who do this imporant work!

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yeah, I agree – IF the rest is good.

The “driver’s license” thing immediately makes my hairs stand up, because actual printed-off drivers licenses were used by the thousands to generate fake votes in Texas by that BLM Democrat. I think it was Houston.

Somehow we have to get ahead of that kind of highly organized fraud which abuses state resources.

pgroup2

A simple computer check of the DL# should do the trick of getting ahead of that fraud. The pic of the DL and the supplying of the number (which should match the one on the pic of the licence AND match database records).

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

IIRC, the fraud in Texas involved insider Dems who knew the DLs were being carried by mules – no picture checking was performed. Drive-up operation.

Get the copy license, drive up, get the ballot, vote, repeat. Very slick operation.

Processes have to assume that one party will cheat the process from the inside, and thus allow for external public checking that cannot be defeated by crooked insiders.

On Driver licenses it indicates if one is a citizen or not. When I renewed my license after I became a citizen I had to show my citizen paper and only then they indicated on the license that I was legal.

I have a fundamental disagreement with these people who say that various viruses have not been isolated, and SARS2-COV in particular.

General principles of virus isolation:

This is a weird new kind of discrediting disinformation, IMO. It’s a lot like saying “Nobody has showed me pictures of Jupiter’s moons, and I will not accept anything that used a telescope, because that’s not a ‘real’ picture of the moons. You can use a camera, but not a magnifier. No pictures? No moons!”

Cellular amplification of the virus from a human sample into a cell line (human or otherwise) is a legitimate method of study, with all sorts of controls possible and the logic of the process is unassailable, IMHO.

Example:

Clever disinfo to create the next “conspiracy”, which then allows them to discredit all theories as “conspiracy theories”. This is their playbook.

>>”This is a weird new kind of discrediting disinformation, IMO.”<<

Perhaps you’re right, and yet I read on the CDC’s website itself – on July 13, 2020 – that they hadn’t yet isolated the SARS-2-COV.

Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that it HAS been isolated.

Still, with many institutions world-wide being so cagey about it, I suspect that they fear that even *admitting* to its isolation may cause a cascade effect (open a door of truth, and more truth may get out than they want).

Do any of the tests, whether antibody or viral load (PCR), test SPECIFICALLY for the isolated strain … or do they test SIMPLY for any strain of coronavirus, SARS-2-COV or not?

I suspect the latter. It coordinates nicely with all the other types of fraud …

Their disinfo schemes can only get traction while a large enough proportion of the populace remains oblivious. Once too many distrust – as a *default* position – the gov’t and the so-called “experts”, their goose will be cooked.

Hence the wait, IMO.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Testing is a can of worms, used to fish for a lot of money. Testing is generally not an either/or thing. And it IS a mess. And there are so many tests, and so many versions of tests, it is impossible to generalize about ALL of them.

Emeraldstar

>>”Testing is a can of worms”<<

Testing is for collecting DNA to sell, and to pump up the number of “positives”.

The positivity ratio was recently cut in HALF, simply by requiring *two* positives instead of just one.

It’s a mess on purpose, too – contradictory statements, changing rules in the middle, and plenty of “Oops! My bad!”, Keeps everyone guessing!

I’d call that a successful disinfo campaign … no one (well, almost) knows WTH is going on.

Good summary from anon:

“holy shit, if people are too dense to take a look around and see the decay, the degeneracy, all the tranny normalization, all the pedo normalization, all the marxist-influenced indoctrination through every single social media site you just posted, then maybe they deserve their enslavement.

“those are the type of people who go along to get along and won’t risk any of their personal income stream to stand up against it.

“they are the type that even when told what the elite’s agenda is, they’ll call you a crazy nutjob even though the writing has been on the wall for decades, and not realize that the bigger picture is a multi-generational battle for domination over the entire planet.

“that’s why they can’t fathom the “conspiracy” behind it because they’ve been TRAINED to have the “overnight success” mentality and instant gratification from doing something insignificant by getting a pat on the back and it’s why the average adult attention span is around 7 seconds long nowadays.

“it’s why the “elites” implement their plans incrementally and not all at once.”

MAGA and the Republican Party are incompatible.

https://accountability.gop/

Republican Accountability Project

If you’re a Republican politician who supported the Big Lie that there was widespread fraud in this election, if you objected to the certification of legitimate Electoral College votes, or otherwise pretended that Congress could overturn the will of the American people, you will be held accountable.

On January 6, 2021, the United States Capitol was attacked by radical Trump supporters who were attempting to overturn a fair election.

The attackers were directly incited by Trump and the overwhelming majority of Republicans in Congress who had been falsely claiming, for months—and in the immediate moments before the attack—that the election had been stolen from Trump.

Well, I suppose that depends on whether you think DJT is going to let Billy Kristol scare him out of the Republican Party.

If DJT so decides to take over the RP, I would be willing to place a sizable bet that he has the chops to do this.

So Billy Kristol serves in this role only so long as DJT decides NOT to engage with the specifics of little Billy’s activities. Once DJT turns his gaze in Billy’s direction, I would be inclined to invest in Depends futures ….

holley

Billy should be afraid of us as well.

Here’s an example of the garbage they are putting out.

JasonD

Yuck, what utter garbage!

So yeah, seeing as DJT leads a 75+ million strong MAGA army, Billy should really think hard about “poking the bear”!

But these ads work FOR you. The correct play would be to let these circulate a while yet, then drop the truth hammer and expose their garbage to a wider audience …

It will be interesting to see WHEN Trump engages this.

My husband prefers bullet point communication, very hard for me to comply with. Me, I revel in the details! I enjoyed what you shared but have minimal ability to act on your insights. I have a small box of old coins (or did, it’s “somewhere”) that if it is ever unearthed will be fun to look through. Given it was accumulated from various family members it’s unlikely it has much value over melt, but I love seeing & touching the old coins.

Just like when I’ve done on-site historical research, back when I was trying to unearth info on my mom’s birth family. Having the actual old documents to go through at libraries & archives, wearing cotton gloves for protection, there’s something exciting about Touching History that stirs the juices more than looking at scanned images online, even though the latter is obviously much simpler & convenient. Finding details pertaining to Your Family can be spine tingling, especially when you know next to nothing about any of them!

Your writing is Always an enjoyment!!! You present material in a systematic, detailed, & playful way–very interesting. Much appreciated by me!

Valerie Curren

A massive absurdity is making people who had nothing to do with atrocities accept responsibility for the actions of others, whether or not those people Might be their ancestors. The bible addresses this in that fathers are not to be punished for their son’s sins & sons not to be punished for their father’s sins. We have to take responsibility for our actions as individuals. Cultural or racial or social guilt is a massive deception.

More biblical wisdom, “owe no man any debt but the continuing debt of love”! Oh, & “speak the truth in love” & “love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, & strength. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

Those three laws could right nearly all wrongs in this world!

Ephesians 6:10-18:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

And much, mucn prayer.

Here is a different take from Patriots.win, someone named MAGA_Science:

“I don’t think you read the DOE document entirely.

Basically, they were told they must import power at exorbitant prices beforehand and the grid must already be failing before they are allowed to spin up extra production. And that production must be priced at a point that can bankrupt normal people. In addition to that, they gave them emission price, hours of operation to work under by unit, during a 100 year unpredictable storm.

Abbott most likely knew he could cause complete grid failure and massive damages without importing power. He knew if he broke the law and paid out the ass he could still fail and see longer term damages to the grid and loss of life.

Instead he stayed within their boundaries and prepared for the attack. He did what he could do.”

I think there were BLM/Antifa marchers in the Pacific NW marching through neighborhoods & demanding the homeowners relinquish their properties to the indigenous people they’d displaced. Of course none of the Current owners did anything but purchase existing property from previous owners & none of the indigenous descendants were there when their ancestral lands were “taken”.

Kind of like no Americans are/were slave-holders & no people demanding “reparations” were slaves themselves. Slavery ended nearly 160 years ago so it would be multiple generations back historically to even find an enslaved ancestor…

This guy gets it.

Our local “conservative” talk show guy, someone who was rightly celebrated here and other venues for other reasons, is amazingly, stunningly, puzzlingly willing to accept the underlying narratives. He is also a “let us reason together” and a “reach across the aisle” type of guy.

IMO if you are too stupid, clueless or corrupt as to have a “conservative” talk show with those themes or perspectives, you should just get a real job doing something productive and stop being a toady for the ruling class.

Valerie Curren

Sound like you’re pussy-footing around the issues there 😉 Love it!

Tonawanda

Valerie, I have gone through a lifetime of our side not getting it. We are too nice to get it. It is Shakespearian, our not getting it.

Getting it, on our side, has been psychologically nullified, and we do not get THAT.

The goal and deep understanding of getting it has been destroyed by exploitation of the conditions of getting it.

Generations of getting it has been undermined by generations of SADISTIC undermining, pandering to the sadistic inclinations of those who resist getting it.

Understanding how to defeat nihilism is what we need, but we do not understand nihilism.

Valerie Curren

Our side is too “good” to look into the horrifying face of evil & see if for what it is. We don’t realize the darkness of the pit of hell breaching the souls of the damned (by constant choice), for so many of us are glory bound.

The watchman on the wall is persona non grata in the comfortable church crowd. But they need us on that wall & actually want us on that wall but don’t you dare bother them with the details of security & warfare!

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but they are mighty, though God, to the pulling down of strongholds!

If we cannot get the church to see & deal with evil, perhaps we can get them to back Us up with prayer support as we do battle in the Kingdom & in this life taking back territory from the Enemy that we will permanently claim for Our Father & our forefathers!

GOOD MORNING…
february 20, 2021 the marshall report

https://themarshallreport.wordpress.com/author/spearofdestiny1/

It’s a great new day! I got up, grabbed some coffe and got right to work practicing note writing and edited a few reports.

Editing will be done next week…so reports concerning that will be out sometime then.

This should make the professional troll editors happy. After all, in this time of crisis…we all have to just sit back, complain and do things inside the literary art box rules made by the ones who control who gets to do what. You know, the rules made by the people who control the foundations who fund who gets to do what. These are the same ones who push all the propaganda, set the standards, and critique the lowly unknown starving artists, authors, musicians, and inventors while they are alive, and then after they die, profit off of their work. History is full of such a myriad of stories. So sad they say. So very sad. That’s what they say.

GA/FL

Good Morning to our Coin and Bullion and many other categories expert, Steve.

I am right with you in every single word of this:

His FraudulencyJoe Biteme, properly styled His Fraudulency, continues to infest the White House, we haven’t heard much from the person who shouldhave been declared the victor, and hopium is still being dispensed even as our military appears to have joined the political establishment in knuckling under to the fraud.

Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.”

While I love to read the conjectures, opinions, arguments, putative theories and hypotheses of Wictor and a couple others who are still touting the super-secret clandestine operation going on to save our country from the marauding perverts and globalists … so far, we haven’t seen a wisp or vapor of its existence.

It’s just hopium and hocus pocus.

UNLESS the massively fraudulent 2020 Election is exposed and overturned – and justice wroght – there ain’t no point in voting or even talking about MAGA, KAG, Save America, etc. – those in charge of operating and tabulating our elections will just tailor the results to the highest or most ruthless bidder.

With Øbastard’s justice department,

And Øbastard’s military in charge of justice,

And with Fauci, Bill Gates and Richard aka ‘Rachael’ Levine in charge of America’s health and medicine,

This country as we knew it,

The Republic our Founders designed is over and done.

GA/FL

HOWEVER…..

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26

For with God nothing will be impossible.” – Luke 1:37

Our nation’s prayers and true repentance can and will make a difference.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – II Chronicles 7:14

GA/FL

You are right as usual…. but a large consensus of fervent prayers and courageous outcry might make a difference on earth and in heaven.

GA/FL

I’m getting dizzy trying to untangle that. The Bible says to pray and GOD will hear. Maybe since HE is GOD and Sovereign, HE can/will/desire to change his plan. I don’t recall a Scripture that says prayer changes nothing.

GA/FL

Welp – Sir Steve – it’s the only plan that we can really count on – not the Trump, Q and/or Wictor plan/s.

Thy Will be done would be the best prayer….it’s part of the Lord’s directions.

GA/FL

Such are the divine mysteries that we will never parse out. Many of them.

Gudthots

When one is willing to consider reality as both interactive and multidimensional, meaningful questions are not as easy to formulate.

For myself, I start with a felt sense of a perfectly loving and perfectly good Creator.

Every other construct can be examined through that experiential lens.

When relationship holds an incredibly high value, we find interesting paths that are otherwise hidden.

singingsoul1

The way I see it God knows what is good for us therefore just because I ask does not mean I get what I ask for.
Yes he hears our prayers the one where we ask , the one where we thank , the one where we are accepting His Will , the one where we are grateful.

Grandmaintexas

“All times are my times.” –Aslan

That, and because God exists outside of time, He sees the Plan in ways we cannot.

So we can say that divine justice has come, is come, and will come.

wheatietoo

THIS right here:

Justice Must Be Done.

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.

Nothing else matters at this point.

Thank you for this, Steve.
You are absolutely right!

Because…𝐉𝐨𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐧.

This treachery…this widespread deceit and tyranny, will rot away at our country and destroy it.
We have a ChiCom puppet in our White House!

And you are right — until we fix this, nothing else matters.

RED ALERT: Food Supply Chain Shutting Down as Blackouts Spread – Grand Solar MinimumTexas’ Ag Commissioner has issued a RED ALERT as the power grid is down and our food supply is grinding to a halt. Agriculture is not “critical infrastructure,” and reports of blackouts tonight extend to ND, SD, NE — livestock producers unable to provide water to their animals, and farmers unable to deliver to grain elevators that are shut down. Welcome to the Grand Solar Minimum. Christian breaks down the latest on this developing situation.

All part of the DemCommunist plan in collusion with Dictator Xi:

*RobberJoe signs the EO written for him by his handlers that stops the Keystone Pipeline.
*HAARP manipulates the weather, resulting in unprecedented disaster from North Dakota/Wisconsin, through Texas. (is it a “coincidence” that Americans in these states almost overwhelmingly voted to re-elect REALPOTUS Donald Trump?)
*”Domino Effect” of misery of all kinds + shortages (food, fuel, medicines, electricity, water) + inability of farmers to get their work done, truckers to get deliveries done, etc.

Watch for a combination of rationing plus confiscation of fuel, supplies, etc., from “warmer states” (everything south of the Mason-Dixon Line and east of the Ohio / Mississippi rivers) to give to the affected states. (the start of the Marxist “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” application in this country).
Watch for an announcement that the federal government will buy fuel from other countries (at inflated prices that they set) to “assist” the affected states.
Watch the DemCommunists blame the whole mess on the Republican Party and on REALPOTUS Donald Trump.

“The former South Carolina governor and UN Ambassador seems genuinely baffled that former President Donald Trump refused to meet with her after Haley very publicly trashed Trump.Isn’t that simply how the game is played?

Well, yes. Haley is doing things correctly the way they used to be done. You posture for the media, distance yourself from any controversy, then later patch it up after the storm blows past. You cynically abandon your friends, hoping that the alligators will eat you last. Then you have a summit meeting and cut deals behind closed doors.

Republican voters want leaders who lead, not hide under their desks playing “duck and cover.” They want Republican politicians to decisively challenge and defeat Leftist lies, not run for the tall grass. Year after year, we watch easily-answered lies from the Left spread as truth because the Republican establishment has no stomach for robust debate.

The Republican base wants Winston Churchill, faults and all, not Neville Chamberlain. There was no guarantee that Churchill would defeat the Third Reich. But it was a sure bet Chamberlain wouldn’t even try. They want General Ulysses Grant, accused of being a drunk, not the dapper, preening General George B. McClellan who amassed a great army but wouldn’t attack the Confederacy.

The first Republican President Abraham Lincoln sided with the dishevelled General Grant with whiskey on his breath over the vain, do-nothing, respectable General McClellan.

The Republican base wants candidates with fire in their belly. Show me what you’re willing to fight for. Democrats fight like hell. Republicans cower in fear. Apparently they don’t really believe what they believe in.
….
So when candidates like John McCain, Mitt Romney, Nikki Haley, Liz Cheney, Sen. Ben Sasse, Lisa Murkowski wilt under the glare of criticism and agree with our opponents, we know they will never stand up to the left. We know they are going to let us down. And raised in the swamp, they probably don’t even understand why the base is furious.”

The lying, the cover up, is worse than the sin.

Dems/Media would give him a hard time either way but conservatives would have stood by him, laughed it off and ignorned it or at least would not have held it against him. However, the lying – that conservative voters will hold against him. Flat out lying is ugly, shows lack of character, poor judgement and poor performance under media/dem pressure.

Trump stole all the Cruz voters thanks to AUTHENTICITY. This is a key point in retrospect.

It was very telling when The Right Scoop started banning people for sticking up for Trump. They, too, were unmasked as part of the sleaze.

Cruz has this weird periodicity. Most of the time, he’s just normal conservative, but with the “oily” vibe you are talking about. Every once in a while, he seems to make a stand when it appears BRAVE, but nothing ever happens to him then. Those are the FOOLER MOMENTS. Those are the moments that make people forget the oily parts. I almost think that the Pelosicrats let those happen on purpose. But THEN there are these other UNMASKING moments when the VIBE is CONFIRMED.

RF121

Still not sure of the source.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

This is just WRONG. But most people cannot read scientific literature.

It took me all of 5 minutes to prove to myself that this is nonsense.

Very early in this thing, solid work was done – in NON-CHINESE LABS – demonstrating conclusively that they were dealing with a corona virus, amplified into *drumroll* VIRUS FREE *drumroll* cell lines, including some specifically designed like sensitive photography film to CATCH and amplify corona viruses.

Not only did these cell lines, infected with samples from the people, get filled with a classic corona virus following the infection curves we see for COVID-19 in people (virus appears heavily in cells in 3 days, which leads to symptoms on day 5), but the VIRUS ITSELF is clearly visible in the supernatant upon filtering, AND that virus under ELECTRON MICROSCOPE is the classic COVID-19 virus.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7036342/

https://www.pnas.org/content/117/13/7001

I trust this work. I would not trust this out of a Chinese lab, or Chinese authors in the United States. But THIS WORK I trust.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

NOW – this does not mean that we have a problem NOW with [some] tests that are either accidentally or [b/c MONEY] knowingly BI-SENSITIVE to both COVID-19 and influenza variants. That would be a GREAT WAY to both make money and satisfy Covid Communists.

We have a problem with politicized science, and self-deceiving science, but when practiced by honest people, science still works as advertised.

Henry

Wow..

I can’t just be sensitive.

I have to be BI-sensitive now.

ha

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

LOL!!!

Seriously, this is a great way to scam – a HIDDEN BACK END EFFECT.

All you have to do is make the sequences being tested for, match something ELSE that people won’t suspect. And there are INFINITE ways to hide that.

One of my professor’s was so smart – too smart. He gave me a SWORD that cuts past Occam’s razor when that is weaponized.

duchess01
Gingersmom2009

So if there is no covid “virus”, and I could believe this, then what IS the abnormal scourge that all the free-thinking HCQ/Ivermectin docs have been treating for a year, especially very early on? Is it just a “phase 1” that is completed by the “vaccine”?

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

“There is no virus” is the latest “super-hopium”. Do NOT fall for it.

The literature on early COVID isolation, identification, and sequencing is solid.

People are fooling us because they CAN.

marymorse

No, he did not. From his department page:

…”COVID-19 is real. Any Facebook post that suggests otherwise is a hoax and is not true. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, and get the vaccine when it becomes available.”…

https://www.vet.cornell.edu/research/faculty/robert-oswald-phd

duchess01

Very strange – with what we know now – none of those three initiatives are effective – and too much has come forward to the contrary – tests were compromised – stats are inaccurate – masks make people sicker – do not work – while it may be a disease – it is only deadly to those with compromised immune systems or other conditions.

Perhaps, he was threatened. his family was threatened – one article said he had gone into hiding – who knows?

Deplorable Patriot

Thanks.

XVII did ask what if there is no virus.

Let’s see….

Stake them out with an army of fire ants.
Toss them in a tank with a great white shark.

And then we can hang, and draw and quarter the people who pulled this $#!+ on us.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

OMG – I need to go check that. That would be a huge red flag on 17.

Deplorable Patriot

Wolf, you and I are going to disagree on this. That bug you had last year was most likely Influenza A. I had exactly the same thing and it was labelled that before any testing on COVID was done. The symptoms DO NOT match the original SARS-Coronavirus list which DOES match the bug I had in December 2019. That cough took 2 months to go away, and I really wasn’t that sick.

The researchers at Cornell and Stanford and the other places reported in December that the “positive” test samples, 1500 of them in a study, were all Influenza. THEY don’t believe there is a virus out there.

I’m of the belief that the test makers have a pile of positives, and a pile of negatives, shuffled them and put them in boxes.

Too many stories of people with raging fevers testing negative for me to believe a word of the official narrative any more.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Well, my symptoms not only match – I have permanent lung damage, which I’m reminded of constantly. My output here is halved because I am fighting low oxygen on a continuous basis.

I’ve had the flu. This was different. I will not speak for what YOU had, but I will speak for what I had.

As for this 1500 thing, I need a source. ANYTHING. Even something just slightly more believable than an image of a tweet. Science blog. Email. Anything.

What ARE the 1500 samples? More details. ANYTHING more than that tweet image.

Disinformation is so easy. Real science is NOT EASY.

Deplorable Patriot

It was originally posted by the Project Camelot lady in December.

https://projectcamelotportal.com/2020/12/31/covid-is-the-con-the-screen-covering-nano-ai-converting-your-cells/

Anything like that that would counter the narrative is going to get buried, and won’t end up in peer reviewed journals, I’m quite sure.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yeah, I think this lady got hoodwinked.

Here is an archive, because once she figures it out, she will likely edit out the alleged source.

Archive: https://archive.fo/tQzm4

The alleged author of the message now has modified his official bio in two places. You can see the FIRST in this archive:

Archive: https://archive.fo/j0KDd

It reads:

Department of Molecular Medicine
Professor
James Law Professor of Molecular Medicine

Please see comment below under Research Interest regarding COVID-19

I will copy the second, which is under an expanding click:

Research Interest

COVID-19 is real. Any Facebook post that suggests otherwise is a hoax and is not true. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, and get the vaccine when it becomes available.

Research in our laboratory focuses on the structure and function of neurotransmitter receptors, in particular glutamate receptors. These receptors are the primary excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the central nervous system and are implicated in the molecular basis of learning and memory as well as a variety of neurological disorders. The laboratory uses a variety of methods including NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, small-angle X-ray scattering, isothermal titration calorimetry, and electrophysiology to study the biophysics of drug binding. These multiple approaches provide a view of the binding site that includes both the structure and dynamics. This provides more detailed information for further drug development and understanding of the mechanism channel activation. Ongoing collaborative projects include work on protein recognition factors in leptospirosis, and experimental drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Note that the lady on the post has now said this:

BREAKING NEWS!!! The scientist in contact with DR. Oswald says that Dr. Oswald has “gone crab”…which means into hiding…The info below is TRUE AND REAL—my source is solid on this.
Kerry Cassidy, PROJECT CAMELOT

Sad, but that is how people are manipulated – by not checking and doubting sources.

The DAMAGE here is that the problems with testing – the REAL problems with testing – which the other side has used mercilessly against us – are hidden behind lies that THEY SEED INTO OUR MOVEMENT.

Quarantine Cafe: Blue is a Social Construct Edition—Ace
Weird thing: “Blue” is always the last of the main colors to be named in a language. The order goes Black, then white, then red, then green, then yellow (sometimes green and yellow are flipped), and only later — thousands and thousands of years later — blue.
Many cultures do not recognize blue as a separate color. Some call it a type of green, many call it a… shade of black.

This video about this phenomenon is interesting.

As is this one.

An interesting point is that it’s only after people develop the word for “blue” — or any other color — that they begin to actually recognize it. Having the word for a thing trains the brain to see the thing.

The Japanese didn’t call blue green. Instead, they called green blue, at least until they decided to invent a word for green.
Wikipedia on the gradual division of a broad color that covered everything from blue to green into separate colors:

In many languages, the colors described in English as “blue” and “green” are colexified, i.e. expressed using a single cover term. To describe this English lexical gap, linguists use the portmanteau word grue, from green and blue,[citation needed] a term coined by the philosopher Nelson Goodman–with a rather different meaning–in his 1955 Fact, Fiction, and Forecast to illustrate his “new riddle of induction”.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has released a trove of documents on Nancy Pelosi’s father Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr.. The files, disclosed quietly as America was fixated on the unfolding crisis in the nation’s capitol, show Pelosi’s father had deep, demonstrable ties to communists.

Among the revelations was that D’Alesandro Jr., who was a member of Congress and mayor of Baltimore, was shown to have ties to communist organizations, including a Soviet front group.
Investigative reporter John Solomon dug through the files and unearthed the most revealing passages on Just the News:
Elsewhere, the memo cites a “confidential source, who has furnished reliable information in the past,” reporting that D’Alesandro appeared onstage at a 1943 rally for the National Council of American-Soviet Friendship, which was formed in 1943 by the Coummunist Party USA as a Soviet front group, according to the FBI.
The following year, the memo notes, D’Alesandro was reported as the main speaker at an event for the International Workers Order, an insurance organization placed on a list of subversive organizations by the U.S. attorney general in 1947 and later disbanded by order of the New York State Insurance Department for being too closely aligned with the Communist Party, in violation of regulations prohibiting political activity in the industry.
The files also at times paint a picture of serious corruption:
In the same memo, which begins on page 38 of the collection, the agent summarizes allegations that a powerful D’Alesandro took payoffs from applicants to the police force, and that he helped to hinder the investigation and prosecution of crimes.

Good luck.

Rubles are still dependent on the petrodollar system.

The keyword being petro-DOLLAR.

Say what they will but until nations are moving money into Rubles no one will use them. No one has confidence in Russian currency stability.

One should never have an economic system which is dependent on America being run by Democrats to achieve your strategic goals.

I don’t think the point is so much ‘confidence’ in the Ruble, as it is a statement of Russia’s resistance to the corrupt CB system…

There are some strong indications that diabetes, heart disease, cancers, and yes, even obesity are all associated with retro-viral infections that can be most easily be transmitted via vaccine injections. Lifestyle choices DO matter, but I’ve known extremely well disciplined people that ate “right” and yet struggled with obesity.

This is the first real goal of the “1619 Project” — to pay “reparations” to every single Black person in the United States. Not just those who can “prove” that they are blood descendants of Africans who were brought here as slaves. The second real goal is to make sure that Blacks vote DemCommunist forever.
Of course, the other minority peoples in the United States — Native Americans and Latinos for a start —- will sue to also get “reparations”, due to “discrimination” and “unfair working conditions”.
And if the government can’t extort the full sum of “reparations” from “Joe Taxpayer”, there’s always the IMF to borrow from.

Via Grassroots America We The People:

I urge you to carefully read through this information from Senator Hall and watch his interviews on NewsMax and Economic War Room.  This will help you tell the difference between real action and political smoke and mirrors.  It will prepare you to ask plenty of questions of your state representative and state senator! If you have not called them – you must!  To a politician, your silence = your approval of what they do and don’t do!

Go get ’em! JoAnn

Fix the problem

The 87th Legislature marks the fourth legislature (that’s over six years) that a resilient electric grid has been one of my top legislative priorities. While we were successful in getting legislation out of the Texas Senate, the proposal repeatedly failed to make it through the process to become law. Legislators need look no further than the mirror for a scapegoat to place blame for our current situation.

Last session, in a report written to inform constituents about my proposed legislation, I said, “The very idea that a single event causing the loss of the electric grid could plunge the entire nation back into a time without electricity, cell phones, or the internet is so overpowering that it is easier to ignore the threat than to plan for it.”

So, we did.

Through participation in a series of conference calls with the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) for situation reports, it was obvious that everybody is looking for someone to blame.

Who was it that failed to have a reliable grid in a time of need? Why are areas with significant cold weather not having the same issues? Who made the decision which neighborhoods to cut power to and which ones to leave with power? Why are rolling power outages that are supposed to last 15 to 30 minutes lasting hours or days?

ERCOT blames the weather or the generation power companies who make the decision to cut the power. The generation companies are just doing what they are told. Some wind turbines are to blame for being frozen. The sun failed to shine during peak need hours, so solar shares some blame. Weather froze key instrumentation equipment preventing coal and natural gas plants from operating.

There is plenty of blame to go around, but the responsibility for the issue lies squarely with the Legislature which has failed to require a plan to protect against just such an event as we have had….

Very long discussion of the Texas power situation by Tommy Waller published by CSP:

Texas Blackouts Highlight Costs of Ignoring Resilience
February 17, 2021Tommy Waller

https://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/2021/02/17/texas-blackouts-highlight-costs-of-ignoring-resilience/

Millions of residents of Texas and bordering states -and even parts of Mexico– are without power this week facing freezing, life-threatening temperatures. This should be a wake-up call for the nation that “all-hazards resilience” must become a top priority for owners, operators, and regulators of electric power infrastructure at the federal, state, and local level.

Until resilience becomes as much of a priority as “clean” and “renewable” energy infrastructure, and until support for grid security overcomes partisan politics, blackouts will continue to threaten the lives of our citizens and even our national security.

Conservative pundits were quick to blame the Texas blackout on the state becoming “recklessly reliant on so-called alternative energy,” as Fox’s Tucker Carlson stated: “Running out of energy in Texas is like starving to death at the grocery store: You can only do it on purpose, and Texas did.” Similarly, Alex Epstein, founder of the Center for Industrial Progress, tweeted that “the root cause of the TX blackouts is a national and state policy that has prioritized the adoption of unreliable wind/solar energy over reliable energy.”

Meanwhile, Bloomberg Green cautioned, “Don’t point too many fingers at Texas wind turbines, because they’re not the main reason broad swaths of the state have been plunged into darkness,” rightfully warning that frozen instruments at power generation facilities – including coal, nuclear, and natural gas – were a significant concern, as pointed out by executives at Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which runs the Texas grid.

Ultimately, every form of power generation in Texas has been affected by the winter weather, much the same way that California’s power generators were affected by last year’ severe heat. According to its 2017 testimony before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Foundation for Resilient Societies warned, “Major blackouts for California and Texas in 2011 are warning signs of market failures—both of these blackouts were indirectly caused by insufficient local generation reserves.”

. . . there are immense market pressures for grid operators to move to “environmentally friendly” power generation and “just in time” capacity and away from resilient sources of base-load power.

. . . This is, in part, why the Trump Administration worked to establish incentives for shoring up the national grid –declaring a “a national emergency with respect to the threat to the United States bulk power system,” and warning “foreign adversaries are increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in the United States bulk-power system.” The measure was suspended by the Biden Administration.

. . . and much MORE . . .

Congress Escalates Pressure on Tech Giants to Censor More, Threatening the First Amendment
In their zeal for control over online speech, House Democrats are getting closer and closer to the constitutional line, if they have not already crossed it.

Glenn Greenwald

https://greenwald.substack.com/p/congress-escalates-pressure-on-tech

House Democrats have made no secret of their ultimate goal with this hearing: to exert control over the content on these online platforms. “Industry self-regulation has failed,” they said, and therefore “we must begin the work of changing incentives driving social media companies to allow and even promote misinformation and disinformation.” In other words, they intend to use state power to influence and coerce these companies to change which content they do and do not allow to be published.

I’ve written and spoken at length over the past several years about the dangers of vesting the power in the state, or in tech monopolies, to determine what is true and false, or what constitutes permissible opinion and what does not. I will not repeat those points here.

Instead, the key point raised by these last threats from House Democrats is an often-overlooked one: while the First Amendment does not apply to voluntary choices made by a private company about what speech to allow or prohibit, it does bar the U.S. Government from coercing or threatening such companies to censor. In other words, Congress violates the First Amendment when it attempts to require private companies to impose viewpoint-based speech restrictions which the government itself would be constitutionally barred from imposing.

This is a great point. Adam Schiff needs to be IN JAIL.

That’s not to say that the Church hasn’t been infiltrated with evil elements and that ugly architecture was pushed for quite a number of years so as to reduce the sense of the transcendence of the Church, but I don’t know that a serpent head is what the architect of the Audience Hall had in mind.

WEAPONIZING NETWORKS (PART ONE): VENEZUELA’S ASYMMETRIC ATTACK ON TEXAS

https://www.securefreesociety.org/research/weaponizing-networks-part-one-venezuelas-asymmetric-attack-on-texas/
comment image

Texas has the second largest GDP of any state in the union. It is home to some of America’s most critical warfighting capabilities and is the only state with a semi-independent electrical grid.[i] These facts alone make Texas critical to U.S. national security. These same facts make the Lone Star State a prime target for America’s adversaries – especially a less recognized, yet remarkably dangerous conglomeration of state and non-state actors in Latin America, known as the Bolivarian threat network.

Led by Cuba and Venezuela, the Bolivarian threat network unites a lengthy list of criminal groups, socialist non-governmental organizations (NGO), digital activists, media entities, political parties, terrorist organizations, and rogue regimes to wage asymmetric war against the United States. Asymmetric warfare is known conceptually as the use of non-state groups for surprise and subterfuge to achieve parity against superior opponents. The Bolivarian threat network relies on more than just non-state groups, though. It also enjoys the support of America’s near-peer adversaries in Russia and China, and from the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran.[ii]

The term “Bolivarian” is drawn from the late Hugo Chávez’s so-called Bolivarian revolution,[iii] which began as a socialist political movement that has transformed Venezuela into a criminalized state and the worst humanitarian crisis in the Western Hemisphere.[iv] Chávez exported his socialist revolutionary model to other nations in the region through a political power bloc formed in 2005 called the Bolivarian Alliance of the Americas (ALBA).[v] Although the once-powerful ALBA has lost much of its legitimacy in Latin America after the death of Chávez in 2013, it maintains an informal network of non-state actors and high-profile political figures who continue to shape political discourse in the region.

The ALBA survives through the Bolivarian threat network and Texas’ location and resources make it a chief target for this Latin American adversary. The Bolivarian threat network, as the name suggests, relies heavily on covert and overt networks that run through Texas. Whether its strategy to undermine U.S. power in the region and weaken the security of the homeland is effective hinges, in part, on its operations in the Lone Star State.

This article is the first of a three-part series where we will deconstruct how the Bolivarian threat network has penetrated Texas by utilizing Venezuelan illicit networks and legitimate oil networks to tap into the core of economic and political influence in the Lone Star State. This is part of a six-month research effort to understand how Venezuelan threat networks directly affect Texas security and prosperity. But first it is important to understand the purpose and capabilities of a modern threat network and recognize their design.

WHY TEXAS SHOULD BE WARY OF MEXICO’S AMLO
https://www.securefreesociety.org/research/why-texas-should-be-wary-of-mexicos-amlo/
comment image

For a region with 33 countries and more than 626 million people, Latin America and the Caribbean does not command the kind of attention it deserves in the United States. That is probably why a powerful political-criminal network has been able to organize without much attention.

The “Bolivarian Alliance,” once led by Hugo Chávez of Venezuela and now Nicolás Maduro, can be best understood as a transnational effort to achieve a 21st century socialism in the Americas. The alliance once consisted of eleven countries and three observers, to include Iran and Syria.[1] Its strength has since dwindled with the death of Chávez and the departure of member countries Bolivia, Ecuador, and most importantly with the 2018 election of Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil.

Today, however, the once-dominant alliance is reinvigorated with the ascent of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, or AMLO, to the presidency in Mexico in 2018. AMLO’s ideological affinities with the alliance will certainly influence Mexican policies. Anticipating the outcomes could position Texas businesses to better protect its relationships in Latin America in a post-pandemic world.

Deplorable Patriot

The Wiki article does not go into the types of weather modifications that we would be concerned with in reference to the recent storm (article talks about cloud seeding and agent orange) however it does not preclude such either so it would be interesting to see this treaty.

The link for the treaty itself on that page does not work.

The idea that such a treaty would speak in plain language as to capabilities in weather modification is unlikely or else it would be common knowledge so I’d assume any successful search would use ambiguous catch all language to limit the use of weather modification. Example there was a separate article recently, not sure if I read it here or elsewhere, that claimed the rule was “weather modification is only permissible in your country”, which can have a variety of meanings if true since weather does not know borders. So would that be originate from, impact only, impact primarily. Then to what are the rules for non border areas such as oceans? Would it be okay to steer a hurricane while in international waters? Would any such treaty address NGOs?

Anyway, I’m sure Anons are looking into it and we’ll hear more if there’s anything to be heard.

Personally I find the timing and severity of that storm event to be suspect.

I figured the messed-up fonts would get fixed in a future update but after 3 months, same unsolvable issue. So what, I could live with that. But then

In the Forum’s “Sandbox” section, only visible to forum members who are logged in, there was a thread about #Rush #Limbaugh, filled with hateful, nasty crap celebrating his death and berating his life and his followers. I stood up for Rush, said I was a fan, and that they should at least wait until he assumed room temperature before attacking his memory. Two other forum members agreed. But Tex, the lead developer, among others, resorted to an insulting barrage of hate against Rush, and I logged out, never to return.

I don’t care whether your #Linux distro is left or right politically, but when you use the distro’s official forum to launch a tirade of cruel and venomous hostility toward a public figure for his or her #political views, then you’re just an asshole and you’ve made the distro political as well. I would link to the thread, but the “Sandbox” (kind of a chatty, off-topic subforum) is not visible except to forum members who are logged in.

Once you make an #operating-system political, you’ve crossed a line I can’t abide. Time for a new distro, just because I won’t pollute my #computer with crap from a hostile #Leftist asshole who has made his distro political by posting such vitriol in the official forums.

Looking for a new systemd-free Linux distro. And no, not antix either because of this. I’ll revisit #SalixOS I guess.

Hate like that is demonic. How can one hate God’s creation? We might dislike someone or not listen to someone we do not agree with but this type of hate on the posts is void of character.
Even myself I have to watch it because I read and hear about hate so much that it does not cling on me and then easy it is usable.

Cuppa Covfefe

Just look at the “Greens” who, truth be told, have NO interest in conservation or nature…

“Thanks” to Schröder and Trittin, Gophers, Moles, Racoons, Siebenschläfer, various mice, Wasps, Hornets, and other pests (as well as some invasive plants!) are “protected”, and we can’t even trap them, let alone kill them (despite their ever-increasing numbers)….

Yet they don’t even bat an eye at a baby (or ill or elderly person) being killed… seems that’s “good for the planet”… Euthanasia is their next goal, followed by polyamory, bestiality, pederasty, and eventually “death for point of view”…..

Just hearing sirens down the hill…. probably someone isn’t wearing a mask…..
Funny how a year or two ago the Polizei were nowhere to be found and took 45 minutes to show up when some of our new “Fachkräfte” (read: refauxgee Moslems) stabbed some people at the train station….. priorities, priorities…….

singingsoul1

Germany has lost its way also. To me it seems the politicians do serve some one other than their citizens with the open borders and looking the other way when immigrants kill. The two cultures do not mix .
I am so sorry what is happening.
I think in the US is still hope.

“Lucifer” was God’s “creation”?

Cuppa Covfefe

Yes, he was. Indeed he was the highest created being (a Cherub, cf. Ezekiel 28:14), but, having free choice, he wanted not only to “be like the Most High”, but to raise his throne above GOD’S.

Ezekiel 13:19:

13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Deplorable Patriot

Lucifer was from the Choir of Principalities, I thought. St. Paul goes on about Principalities and Powers, none of the other choirs (Angels, Archangels, Dominions or Dominations, Crowns, Thrones, Cherubim and Seraphim).

We see Seraphim in Isaiah and the Apocalypse, and Archangels in the Gospels, Tobias or Tobit which is one of the Greek books Martin Luther took out of his version of the Bible, and in the Apocalypse.

suzyqster58

I cannot tolerate the hate word. My grandma told us kids that saying we hate someone is the same as murdering them in the eyes of the Lord. When we hate we are filled rage and murder is in our hearts. I detest and loathe certain politicians or people who are hateful inside and out. but we cannot carry hate in ourselves it warps us and turns us ugly like rabid dogs.

singingsoul1

You had a wise grandmother. These are good reminders. I do not hate but the word has recently slipped over my lips. I am trying to be more aware because words matter.

Valerie Curren

love the sinner & hate the sin–way easier to say than to do, like so many things!

Cuppa Covfefe

Chiefio has a lot about system-D. Seems he’s had more than a few “adventures” (maladventures?) with that…

Sad to say, some of the worst “hating” I’ve seen is on tech boards, and in the SillyCone Valley. I had to listen to a Wicca “Practitioner” vomit her vile opinions about Christians and Christianity (at a major computer firm, where both of the founders were Christians), knowing full well that if I posited my point of view, I’d end up in Personnel (as did a friend of mine there) getting an “attitude adjustment”.

Seems that some people are “more equal” than others… Sounds like a DIV0 “solution” to me…..

Cuppa Covfefe

Better yet, he can multiply by zero to correct for it 😀

And Tim Allen (as Tim “The Toolman” Taylor) paraphrases Ahhhhnold….

President, Other School Board Members Resign After Video of Them Mocking Parents Exposed
By Jack Davis
Published February 20, 2021 at 11:12am

https://www.westernjournal.com/president-school-board-members-resign-video-mocking-parents-exposed/

The entire school board of one California school district has quit after their comments trashing parents were captured on video.

The Oakley Union Elementary School District school board president, Lisa Brizendine, was the first to resign, followed by fellow board members Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito and Richie Masadas, according to Fox News.

The trustees were waiting for the official start of the meeting when talk turned to parents who had written letters or social media posts pushing for schools to reopen, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

“It’s easy to hide behind their screen but when you’re face to face with people, it’s a whole different ball game,” Masadas said, according to a YouTube video of the call taken by an anonymous listener.

Beede then pushed back against criticism from parents that she went to a party, even though she opposes putting students and teachers back in classrooms.

Warning: The following video contains vulgar language that some viewers will find offensive.

[see the 5:10 timestamp]

. . . “Bi—, if you’re going to call me out, I’m going to f— you up,” Beede continued, to the general laughter of her colleagues. “Sorry, that’s just me.”

. . . Masadas then said parents want alone time to enjoy [mari].

“My brother had a delivery service for medical [mari]. The high clientele were parents with their kids in school,” he said to laughter from the group.

“When you got your kids at home, no more puff-puff,” Masadas said.

A few moments later, board members learned they had been live the entire time, and the feed ended.

Once the video went viral, the members were deluged with calls to resign.

. . . “What are their true intentions,” Stalf wondered, “if they feel so freely that they can talk, you know, on a mic that may or may not be hot, what’s truly being said behind closed doors?”

North Texas is warming up and is pretty much melted out at this point.

In the last three hours even neighborhood streets have become 90% free of snow and ice.

There is still a lot of water and risk of re-freezing. As I’ve said elsewhere this is a risk because 1) too many local drivers are inexperienced in these conditions 2) too many vehicles are poorly maintained, especially with bald tires, and aren’t equipped with ice melt, ash, or even ice scrapers to be driving in icy conditions. Even if you are an experienced driver, I would not recommend being on the roads with other inexperienced drivers trying to get around.

That said, I did take a trip to our nearby taco shop via the neighborhood streets, and got a slew of bean burritos for lunch. People were out and about at about the same levels as a typical Saturday.

I haven’t spoken with many folks, but those I’ve talked to are out trying to recover from ice damage. One man was pullling off the 2 inch thick ice off the top of his coy pond hoping that his fish were still alive down there. (I don’t hold out much hope.) Others have the usual downed branches, vehicle damage, busted hoses. There have been many many reports of broken pipes, indoor waterfalls and icefalls. Some shocking (and eerily beautiful) frozen waterfalls pouring over balconies, stairs, down cieling fans, and over the lids of toilets.

My appliance guy was able to get to our house yesterday and completed the repairs to the dishwasher. The last problem was an old rubber hose that was deteriorating and blocking the water flow. It had not yet burst but was very much at risk. Fortunately we were able to get a stainless steel hose to replace it – they were not sold out (yet). He was very happy to save us having to call a plumber, particularly since all the plumbers (and other contracters) are much busier than normal right now.

Deplorable Patriot

From past experience, if you have an ice sheet on the top of a car, get it off before going too far. They WILL fly off and break windshields on other cars.

Deplorable Patriot

Well, we’ve been known to have solid ice storms.

Tonight, when I walked into Church to cantor…you should see the icicles hanging off the roof.

kalbokalbs

T M I…alert.

Last Wednesday afternoon, daughter in Iowa Colony, SSW Houston called me. She accepted my offer to deliver generators, electric heaters, fuel… Since IIRC, 6AM last Monday morning, she was without electricity. Except a brief 4 hour point early Wednesday, 3Am-7AM.

1,980 miles, ~30 hours nonstop, I.E., no fueling, tinkle, sleep, food… I guessed, I could do the drive under ideal circumstances in, <48 hours. Years ago I had completed a MD to CA drive in <72 hours.

El Paso on I-10 heading east, dozens of highway warning signs reporting severe fuel shortage east of Van Horn.

Somewhere east of Van Horn, TX, temps dropped below freezing. NOT a big deal.

Acceptable driving conditions through 6PM Thursday. Roughly five hours sleep at this point. ~1,380 miles in ~ 28 hours. Nearly all Interstate driving speed 70-75 MPH.
~ 500 miles to go. ~8 hours driving time to go. Toss in a nap, food, fuel… Called my daughter and told her noon Friday latest arrival.

Remainder of the evening temps dropped. Through Friday 6AM, low was 6F. Majority of the time in the 0-16F range. This not a big deal as truck is quite comfy.

After we left Fort Stockton, roads iced significantly. Driving a Ram, placed it in 4WD lock. Traction was good. Only noticed a slight slippage once. Speed typically 30-45 MPH. Initially few vehicles on the road, until we caught “the pack”.

~40 miles east of Fort Stockton “the pack” was single file semi’s…10-20 MPH. Another 20 miles the pack formed two lines, coming to, ALL S T O P. Literally 5 1/2 hours later, we started nudging forward.

Roughly 3AM Friday, we took the next exit. Roughly ~22 miles west of Odona on I-10. ~480 miles shy of Iowa colony.

The deal breaker for me was 2WD semis WITHOUT chains trying to drive on solid ice. Saw more than one semi without traction, blocking lanes. One semi, having lost traction, literally blocked both lanes.

Absolutely insane to drive on ice with2WD semi’s without chains. Would have been treacherous on I-10 dropping down to San Antonio. Iced roads. Significant long stretches of down hill.

Last night in a Tucson hotel. Tonight Vegas. Home tomorrow. It was an interesting adventure.

Note. Daughter’s electricity came back on a second time Thursday early morning. She call and text to say it was on. Cancel the drive if we wished. At the time we opted this far into the drive, let’s go see Grandson and Granddaughter. Probably leave generators and electric heaters with them. They lost a freezer and two fridges of food. They LEARNED a good lesson, GET PREPARED and STAY PREPARED.

Now to catch up with QTree news.

Grandmaintexas

You are a heroic father. That’s all I can say.

michaelh

Dang. That stretch through Fort Stockton is NOT fun under ideal conditions.

kalbokalbs

Yea. Have done three December crossings through Ft Stockton in the past two years, incident free. This deep freeze ya’ll are living this month is brutal.

Aubergine

One positive thing; I think your friend’s fish will be ok. They can survive under ice if they are getting oxygen, and a week or so should be ok. I hope so. I love the cool giant goldfish!

michaelh

I know that in 2012 the freeze killed all the Coy at the North Dallas Benihana, and it’s taken years for the stock to grow back. I used to take my wife there quite a bit when the kids were still really small, even though it was a bit of a drive to get there. Naturally the kids loved the coy.

cthulhu

Is that like a car with a wrap?

pgroup2

Nice!

cthulhu

The first time I really noticed a car wrap was when I was complimenting a woman on her car’s paint job. It was jet black with an 8-inch “beam” of magenta and an 8-inch “beam” of bright orange going across, bouncing off the undercarriage, and running off the hood. I said, “that sure doesn’t look like stock paint.”

She laughed, and said, “it isn’t. It’s not even paint. It’s a wrap.” So I walked over to it to see it more closely — the wrappers did a good job, I couldn’t tell, even when close. She continued, “this one’s pretty new — I only had it put on a month ago. It’s just something I decided to do every once in a while. The actual car is white.”

So, naturally, I thought a catfish masquerading as a koi would most likely be wearing a Sanke wrap.

https://www.koi.com/detail-koi.php?koiid=2452

cthulhu

They are slow-growing fish, which is one reason that good sized ones are $$$$$.

cthulhu

Unlike tropical fish, koi will live quite happily if their pond freezes over…..PROVIDED that there is sufficient residual oxygen in the water.

This can be provided by a small clear area (although with a 2″ covering, this doesn’t sound good), with underwater plants, with aeration, or through other means. If the pond is large and lightly stocked, the fish can even survive with no air for a while — they’re cold-blooded, and it’s not likely that they’ll be doing wind-sprints or jumping-jacks in subfreezing temperatures….likely, their metabolisms have been pretty inert.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Yes, I agree. Many abuses happening right now.

Aubergine

We have to band together and fight back. The best ways to do that are what Andrew Torba is advocating, and by getting the hell out of the blue-state shitholes. We have to build our own economies, force our red-state representatives to defend our way of life, and STOP doing anything for leftists. Left to fend for themselves, they will peter out like wet firewood. They don’t know how to do anything important. Gender studies and the like are not real-world skills.

We have made federal elections WAY too big a deal for far too long. We need states to take their powers back. That way, if you wanna live in a liberal shithole, you can move to one, but if I want to live in a sensible oasis of sanity, I have Montana. Or Idaho, or South Dakota. Or Florida if you like humidity and gators.

Most of the developed world BANS MAIL-IN VOTING and where it is allowed in limited fashion, one must produce a government ID to secure a ballot.

The USA by FAR has the most lax voting standards on earth despite the Media and Democrats assuring us this is VERY good for us.

So WHY does most of the world ban mail-in voting? Easy. FRAUD. Not because they worry there may be fraud but because there HAS BEEN massive fraud in the past.
When it comes to voting, the USA acts like a 3rd world Banana Republic. Does anyone doubt that if not for absentee ballots (resulting in over 90% turnout in blue districts that normally have under 60% turnout) Donald Trump would still be our President today?

….which means that DemChiCom leadership was in agreement PRIOR to the “pandemic” ever arriving in the USA. This wasn’t a surprise attack by China is asshoe.
If this was a true pandemic without any political overtones…many thousands of deaths would’ve been prevented..by HCQ,Invermectin, etc treatments and the use of the hospital ship and portable hospitals that Trump had provided.
It was 100% political from day one.

MIT has a degree in geoengineering.
Using small particles to seed clouds and cause cooling/downward activity or heating/rising motion is not all that complicated.

Gudthots

I’ve actually watched a video from a geoengineer explaining how it’s done. Complete with tables of materials that could be used. It has to do with an already established “line” going up off the coast of the pacific northwest that is driving warmer pacific ocean air up into the artic which is indeed having a huge effects on the ice thickness, among other things. I think he called that line a hook or candy cane pattern.

Texas Power Outages Explained—Jason Isaac | American Thought Leaders
What’s behind the devastating power outages in Texas? Some say the problem was freezing natural gas pipelines; some say it’s because wind turbines froze or mismanagement by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).

To find out what’s going on in Texas, I sat down with Jason Isaac, who predicted a power crisis in Texas months ago. He’s the director of Life:Powered, a national initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation seeking to “raise America’s energy IQ.”

This is American Thought Leaders, and I’m Jan Jekielek.

How Texas Can Secure Its Grid Against EMP Threats–Support SB 1398BY KEVIN FREEMAN BLOG APRIL 24, 2015

https://www.economicwarroom.com/how-texas-can-secure-its-grid-against-emp-threats-support-sb-1398

The following is shared from Secure the Grid’s website. Kevin Freeman and Frank Gaffney testify (video provided). In addition, you can hear the reasoning behind the Electric Utility opposition. It’s not very strong–the Utility industry representatives simply don’t want anyone looking over their shoulders addressing the problem and call it “another layer of bureaucracy.” Yet, they admit there’s a real problem and don’t seem to have any proactive plans to address it. SB 1398 is a great first step in holding the industry accountable for protecting citizens from a very real catastrophic threat. There is an “action item” at the conclusion for how you can help Texas protect the Grid. And, even if you are not in Texas, if Texas passes this legislation, it will help protect America. So, watch the videos, draw your conclusion and place calls if you agree with the need for this legislation. [Note, there is also a bill in the Texas House sponsored by Rep. Tan Parker. We will provide details on it as well soon.]

Texas Senator Bob Hall Makes Progress to Protect the Texas Grid

APRIL 24, 2015

Texas Senator Bob Hall hears testimony on Senate Bill 1398 from Kevin Freeman and Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy before the Natural Resources & Economic Development Committee of the Texas Senate. SB 1398 sets scientific and security based standards for electrical grid protection higher than the self-regulating industry standards. Under current regulations there is no goal to make the Texas grid withstand and recover from a catastrophic system wide event.

GREAT STUFF!!!

Deplorable Patriot

February 28. Hmm.

Won’t bring hopium here anymore for the cold shoulder it receives, but this date has come up recently. May not mean a darn thing, but HMMMMMM…..

That address will need to be watched, IMO.

Elizabeth Carter

DP, We are supposed to hope. I will be watching Trump’s address February 28.

Hebrews 1:11 Authorized KJV
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Romans 5:3-5 Authorized KJV
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

There are 133 Bible verses about hope. Bring all the hopium here you can. It is a good thing.

Yes, agreed.

TheseTruths

I think there is a broad spectrum of opinions here. Some will have nothing to do with hopium, and those tend to be pretty vocal. Others will examine most things to glean what they can, knowing that some of it is not true and that people can’t always be 100% accurate. Others want to bring every implausible theory and believe it, wholeheartedly. It is incumbent upon each of us to either indulge and learn, correct mistakes, or scroll by. So, IMO, you should post what you want.

I listened to the Robert David Steele video you posted yesterday. Some things he says seem very “out there,” but his point about sheriffs being so powerful and having power locally was spot on. When the Left tries to invade a county or an area with some outlandish and destructive scheme, sheriffs can stand up, and have stood up, to them and they have backed down. The people need to unite in this way. It’s one more way to fight.

Linda

Please keep the hope coming, DP. There are many of us here who have it and appreciate it. This is, after all, the Q Tree.

Deplorable Patriot

Yes, it is. I’m finding more hopium and better discussion of it at Marica’s.

Plus, there are those who don’t want to sift the reality from the disinformation and skewed “truths” that have morphed over the years from prejudices and hatred that is taught.

jamcooker

Hope is good, but sometimes reality is different than what is expected. I like to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. We also learn from what is hoped for, and battle plans sometimes don’t go as expected, but that doesn’t mean the war is over. Hope is moral boosting for some people and is needed. For some, they pin everything on a positive outcome, and when it suffers a setback, they get very negative and that’s not always in a beneficial way.

Some of the “hopium” that’s brought in may be just that, but sometimes, there’s some really good information that’s part of the “hopium”. It may be mis-interpreted, but still has value as information.

Valerie Curren

I’m pretty sure hopium is for the users discretion. Sharing your sources w/ notes on hopium can help those not wanting to imbibe to bypass. Some of the rest of us still appreciate the fact that hopium is accessible here, whether we imbibe or not!

TheseTruths

Yes! Trump News Network (TNN), Trump Social Media (MAGAMedia), Trump blogs, Trump spies, Trump 3-letter agencies….maybe I got a little carried away…. 😊

jamcooker

A variety of sources is good, and in this case, more is better.

Jaw-dropping on a lot of levels. Thank goodness people are waking up. This is a prime example.

Like 2001 with the monolith. Just. brilliant.

DP I spent a lot of time a few years ago studying the Spanish Flu. What you have linked here is very believable. It makes more sense than anything I have found over the years.

Deplorable Patriot

It does. My one grandmother lost a sister in the 1918 Influenza epidemic. They weren’t through puberty long if at all. I don’t think that sister was more than 3-4 years older than my grandmother and she was nine. Their mother was a nurse. Could she have had her kids all masked up? Did C really die of pneumonia?

Once some truth comes out, history is going to have to be rewritten.

“The fledgling pharmaceutical industry, sponsored by the ‘Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research’…”

Now I know he’s onto something there.

Deplorable Patriot

Exactly.

It should be noted that the reason that Troy and Avoirdupois grains are identical is for ease in casting silver bullets…..since time is likely to be critical when hunting werewolves.

TheseTruths

Good to know!

cthulhu

Do you imagine that casting bullets and reloading ammo takes place in the blink of an eye? Lycanthropes can change at any time, but suffer the full moon “as the other”. Speed is necessary.

Steve,

Sorry for the late comment, but I missed all day yesterday doing other stuff.
I wanted to offer you kudos on the metals tutorial. Very well explained, even a Wolf could understand.

I’ve got a pretty good collection of Silver with a few gold coins sprinkled in.

My gold consists of a ‘Buffalo” 1oz, Golden Eagle 1oz, and 10 Golden Eagle 1/10oz.

My silver collection is more hefty so to speak. Several tubes of Silver Eagles (20/tube) and Maple Leafs (25/tube). I also have at least one each of Australia’s Kangaroo, Koala, and Kookaberra. A Chinese Panda, a Bahamian, a handful of Buffalo rounds and a Washington and Jefferson Commemorative thrown in. A couple silver bars including a 10oz.

A modest collection of Morgan’s, approx 15 pieces..they are my favorite…along with my complete set of MS69 Silver Eagle certified by NGC updated this week with the arrival of my
2021 Heraldic Eagle.

My siblings think I’m crazy…..I say crazy like a fox…um I mean like a Wolf.
