As a 30+ year resident of this town, I know first hand the ineptitude of these “officers.” Disrespectful to peaceful people, thuggish attitude and general incompetence are their trademarks. The liberal courts have neutered the force into poverty managers, with racial and sexual setasides for the otherwise incapable applicants. Meanwhile enormous homade tents are erected on every public sidewalk while these “officers” ride on by, doing their community policing (ie fistbumping gangbangers).

Taxpayer-Funded Nonprofit Behind the Anti-ICE Riots in Los Angeles. Over the past two days, ICE agents have conducted targeted operations across the Los Angeles region, detaining more than 40 suspected illegal aliens.
These enforcement actions triggered large-scale demonstrations, some of which turned confrontational, with reports of vandalism, blocked traffic, and physical clashes with federal agents.
The unrest has prompted questions about who is organizing and funding these protests.
One of the organizations at the center of the resistance to ICE is the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), a Los Angeles nonprofit that has long provided legal and advocacy services to illegal aliens.
CHIRLA is known for radical positions on immigration—for example, it led a campaign to abolish ICE in 2018. Yesterday afternoon, as clashes with federal law enforcement were heating up, CHIRLA Executive Director Angelica Salas held a press conference during which she announced that the Los Angeles Rapid Response Network’s hotline had received more than 50 calls reporting ICE activity and sightings of “men in military garb.”
LARRN is organized by a coalition of nonprofits, and CHIRLA plays a central role, using its main phone line as the hotline number. LARRN’s hotline is one of the communication systems that allows legal observers, volunteers, and other activists to be quickly dispatched to the scene of immigration enforcement actions.
During her remarks, Salas referred to SEIU California President David Huerta as her “brother,” highlighting CHIRLA’s close ties to organized labor in California.
Huerta had been arrested during one of the protests for blocking the path of an ICE vehicle, as shown by video footage released by U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.
Governor Gavin Newsom expressed his unequivocal support for Huerta, claiming he was only “witnessing” the action, while Essayli announced his intention to file criminal charges.
For her part, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has defiantly opposed federal immigration enforcement in the city, stating on social media Friday, “We will not stand for this” and “No vamos a permitir estas acciones,” (“We are not going to permit these actions”).
She added that her office would collaborate with community-based organizations that serve immigrants. She has a long relationship with CHIRLA and bragged last year about obtaining federal funding for CHIRLA’s programs.
That grant is part of a broader stream of public dollars that the organization receives from government sources. In fact, according to a financial audit submitted to the state, the CHIRLA organization received nearly $34 million in revenue from government contracts during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, with 96% of that funding from the State of California.
That figure marks a sharp increase from the prior year, when it received around $12 million in government contract revenue. Agencies contributing to CHIRLA’s funding during this period included the California Department of Social Services, the California Arts Council, the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, and the Department of Homeland Security.
Notably, as mentioned above, a DHS contract funded CHIRLA to provide citizenship instruction and naturalization services.
With $100,000 remaining on CHIRLA’s contract, DHS froze the remaining funds in February.
CHIRLA responded by suing. The court denied their motion for a preliminary injunction on May 29.
This is one of two lawsuits CHIRLA filed against DHS this year. The other was dismissed for lack of standing and is on appeal. To sum up how this works:

I detest the lack of summaries on the home page.
Some are difficult for me to follow at times. This one kinda needed to be a comprehensive read.
Just click on the title. If it takes you to that post, you’re there. If it doesn’t, you’re already there.
On the notifier window I’ve learned that I can hover the cursor over the “comment” hyper link and then see in the status (bottom of the page) the address that the link goes to. If it’s the same page that I’m on, I click on it to get to it.
If it goes to a previous day, I click on that tab first (I have previous day tab open already since our tree does a lot of time travelling), drop down the notifier window and click on hyper link to reply there.
That’s a good idea, Gudthots!
Alternate, if it’s a previous day, I right click, since odds are good I won’t have that tab open. (I will leave MY saturday open through Monday so I can see comments–the new bell does not notify me of them, which on the whole is a good thing, once one adapts, improvises and overcomes.)
Also an alternate, mark comments as read as you scroll to them like you described above; that way you can just stay on one day’s tab for every comment that matches that date, then move on to the next.
I may try this! I’ve just been letting the days shift on the “current” tab, and while it’s a bit jarring, my lazy side has gotten used to it.

I found one workaround, but it will flip the sidebar to the other side, mess up the fonts for an indeterminate period of time, and many other changes. We would have to change themes. But the sidebar would be mostly intact.
Otherwise, I need to hack the current theme to create a new variation, something I have not done, and it can’t happen for several weeks.
I’ve hacked a WP theme before. You create a “child” of the theme you like and make the changes in the child version that inherits the main parts of the theme from the parent.
This allowed me to have things exactly the way I wanted it, but every time the parent theme was updated, I would have to test to be sure it didn’t break the child theme.
I wonder if it’s possible to clone the entire theme rather than to just make a child of it. The clone would be a complete copy of the theme and should be immune to changes to the clonee.

As long as you don’t want a fix they put into the new theme.
Yeah, well at that point you have to do some kind of merge.
We will never have to merge, because the current theme is deprecated and hasn’t changed in years. This would be a dead easy target for modification, provided I can make the system “play nice” with an unregistered theme.
On the other hand, our theme’s customization mechanism is also deprecated, and I suspect that at some point (possibly soon) will go from unsupported to broken, and won’t even work with the current WordPress of the future moment. If I could migrate us to a recent theme, the problem will go away for another decade.
One of the best possibilities is merging our current theme with the most closely associated theme, by the same programmer, which has support for controllable length of post excerpts on the main page. I just have to get set up for that work, which has additional complexities.

You are correct, in all respects. She is burnt toast, and it will be more apparent as the years go by.
At this point, she has no idea how much damage she has done to herself. A DD-214 dishonorable discharge closes any door that requires a security clearance; it negatively affects hiring decisions in general; it can prevent getting bonded or even getting insurance at the best rates.

Dallas Morning News ran a story saying she’s a veteran. In other words she’s not active duty but simply put on her old uniform and spoke to a crowd. That story is behind a pay wall so found it on yahoo.
So Article 15 talk or Court Martial Talk will not apply however there are still federal charges that are normally used in cases like this that lead to a felony charges and courts normally convict because it’s hard to tell the Military no. A felony charge would have the same effect as a Court Martial as that also results in a Federal Conviction and follows her through the rest of her life unless she can at some point get it appealed, something that is not normally allowed for 10’s of years later if in fact it occurred while she was on active duty.

About 10:20 AM CDT, Foley MO: I just observed what looked like an Army Chinook helicopter flying fairly low (perhaps 2,000 feet) just north of my rural Foley property going east and slightly northeast.
We are on the flight path from Ft Bragg. We got buzzed by a very loud plane/helicopter. It is the loudest I have heard in 30 years.
I was outside sometime in March and saw another Chinook. I was talking on the phone but am not multi-tasking well enough on the phone to snap a photo. It is reassuring to me to know someone is out there going where Hegseth and Trump believe they are needed.

In Cooth’s Happy House of Computer Chaos, I was down at my local computer store getting a thumbdrive, and I happened to see a “universal” laptop power brick with 11 tips. “Aha!”, thinks I, “I can finally resurrect my old laptops where I lost the power bricks over a year ago.”
Now these laptops are nothing to write home about for power or capability, but they do have 17″ screens on a laptop. I wouldn’t compile a kernel on either one, but they are handy when the time comes to write an email home to mother.
I just sorted through the tips and found one that plugged into laptop A, put it all together, attached it to the internet…..and discovered that it needed to upgrade nearly 700 files to be a current Xenial laptop. From there, it will need to be dist-upgraded through Bionic, Focal, and Jammy before becoming current at Noble. This may take a while.
I think I’m going to buy another brick for laptop B. It was less than $40, and they certainly had been out-of-action for long enough.

In Qubes Land 4.3 is in the works. I started with 4.1 and then the debian 12 template came out (so I rebuilt everything against it) then right after that 4.2. I wrung it out (it broke some of my customizations) on my poor overtaxed laptop, then took the plunge and upgraded my desktop.
Unfortunately, it’s only me who looks for these things, but I have help scrambling/hiding them. I have been actively looking for them for months to no avail.
No doubt I’ll find them once I get the laptops up to speed.
The other thing is I could just yank the home directory onto a thumbdrive and reinstall modern Ubuntu in one go…..and will if it glitches…..but it amuses me to set its little brain to sequentially update.
I have a computer that needs this.
I’m too busy with outside work on the home/land to even decide what to do.

You don’t get to cherry pick the Republic. You’re going to get all of it: the glory, the grief, the blood, the brilliance.
Because believe it or not, that’s how we heal this ridiculous divide. Not by erasing history. By facing it, whole.
Lee was mythic in his own time, and while still in uniform no less. I can count on one hand the number of military leaders in world history who held that kind of gravity.
His mere presence on the battlefield moved thousands. His men believed he rode with God. And his enemies feared he commanded the wind. Why?
Because Lee was the perfect storm of lethal factors, a man forged in pressure, faith, and brilliance: He possessed a battlefield mind that bent terrain, timing, and psychology to his will.

Half of you are begging for civil war now, without the faintest idea what that would mean. You think GWOT was bad? You cry over civilians killed in drone strikes?
That horror would pale next to a war of brother against brother, of neighborhoods torn apart by blood and belief. Because you end up hating someone exactly as much as you once loved them. And how much more do you love your fellow countryman than some stranger in a foreign land?
And here’s what you don’t see: Those archetypes, the Lees, the Shermans, the Grants? They already live among you. Quiet. Unknown. Watching.
You think they’re extinct? They’re not. They’re waiting.
And if the hate keeps boiling, they won’t stay unknown for long.

Why the secrecy? Why the conflicting statements. For many, many years now it has been bubbling under the surface that the government, especially in the United States, is in possession of technologies that are way beyond our wireless dreams. And the upside to that could be that maybe they can do things like eradicate climate change or make sure that we could all, all over the world, have clean sources of energy, which would mean that there’s no need to fight wars over it anymore, and all of that kind of stuff.
Are they withholding that information from us? That’s been a serious allegation for a very long period of time. A couple of years ago I mentioned my next door neighbor was a retired Army Ranger last stationed in Cali who then went to the LAPD as a weapons instructor before retiring from them a half dozen years ago. He could not wait to leave. Got out and moved with his Cali born wife back east to our area. He is originally from Alabama.
Several years or so ago he told me he felt like Cali was lost to the Mexicans. He did not even think PDT could turn it around if he got back in office. His wife and her side of the family are a quarter plus hispanic, although his wife does not identify that way. Since moving here she has become 100% hillbilly.
Going to check with him over the weekend to see how things are going with her family and that area (the couple work during the week with the Epilepsy Foundation).

Protesters SHOULD NOT be allowed in the streets. NOT EVER. I have the right to drive down those streets that my tax dollars paid for, unimpeded. Anytime.
The truth is, however, that if these leftist protests were somewhere out of the way, not causing chaos and violence, and not impeding decent humans travels and lives, NOBODY would give a shit. They know it. So they have to riot because that gets them attention. They block streets so somebody will have to pay attention to them. They’re like toddlers pitching a fit in the grocery store. Kids mostly tantrum in public because they know their poor parents can’t ignore it there. At home Mom can just walk away.
I have sent the above (slightly abridged) to President Trump. I also asked that he declare my second sentence and do what is necessary to enforce it. Enough is enough. I read that protesters can be charged with disorderly conduct for blocking roadways (and many other things). Maybe the laws vary from state to state, but this one seems to get ignored a lot.

I think a point can be made, however, that most of the United States population believes in the Judaeo-Christian Supreme Being (even if many people in the United States apparently do not worship or practice Judaism or Christianity as part of their life in general). There is also no “state religion” in the United States.

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Wade was an Air Force Veteran. He retired from Firestone after 31 years. For many years, he served as a Deacon and Choir member at Peace Church. Currently, he was an active member at Beyond the Cross Ministries. He had a passion for singing as a soloist as well as in quartets. More than anything, he was a devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

And I’m noticing. I’m peeking ahead in line, and I’m noticing that he’s having guys sign things, and then he’s handing them an envelope. I said, great, that must be the money.
So after I signed the papers and I grabbed the envelope, I now entered into the next dimension of the warehouse. Now, the next dimension of the warehouse, it looked like preparation for a peaceful protest. I mean, there’s sunscreen, there’s water bottles. But if you do a little further, you realize that this is gonna be anything but peaceful. So I look a little further past the water, past the sunscreen, and I see something that resembles rudimentary explosive making.
And, you know, I nudged my brother like, bro, look at this. Y’ all so chill. Don’t worry about that. Come on. So then we head to the back door where everyone was exiting out of.
And now they’re handing everybody a Mexican flag as they exit this building. And I grab it. I’m looking at him like, man, I’m a Republican. But I definitely can’t tell them that now. Like, I’m committed to the bit.

Thoughts on the Coomer v. Lindell trial. Today, a clip was played from the first Cyber Symposium and my presentation called “the vote trafficking parable.” I made a statement about who I thought were some the “hitmen” that “murdered our votes” during the 2020 election. Eric Coomer and John Poulos were named.
I stand by what I said. Both committed treason against our nation. Both destabilized our nation through their rigged [s]election devices. Both worked for a company that illegally deleted election records. One a perjurer that claimed under oath that their machines were not designed to hook up to the internet–proven to be such unbridled bullshit. The other is Satanic lying drunk and deviant. They have tried to bully anyone that dared investigate their actions.
When I served as a panelist and contributor to the first Cyber Symposium, I knew few of the other contributors. I met Mike Lindell for the first time. Like others, I had many questions about the claims that were made. As an investigator, it wasn’t my job to endorse all that was presented. Rather, it was to use my independent judgment, ask questions, and provide clarity where I could. I was satisfied that the forensic image out of Mesa County was authenticated. To this day, the reports generated from Mesa have not been debunked, and proved Dominion and other conspirators fraudulently altered and deleted election records.
Tina Peters emerged as a hero–yet now she is in prison. Every rational person can see how corrupt her treatment was. Joe Oltmann told the truth in 2020 about what he heard on an Antifa call, and his contemporaneous notes were corroborated by a sworn affidavit from a degenerate BLM activist that admitted there was a call, after Coomer’s attorneys protested there was no call. Joe’s life and businesses were turned upside down for refusing to endanger the source that got him on the call. The relevance of his courage looms large today, as Antifa has reemerged in many cities, burning cars, looting businesses, and operating as the radical left’s own terrorist militia.
On the other end of the spectrum, I, nor the experts I collaborated with could ever validate the claims or data produced by Dennis Montgomery and Mary Fanning. Rather, just a smokescreen of confusion and gaslighting when we pressed for answers. The testimony of Dennis Montgomery produced at trial today via a deposition just confirms what I already believed. He’s a spook sent to create chaos. An informant with a checkered past, that had an indictment hanging over his head that magically went away. The last time the legitimacy of a president was in question, Montgomery did the same exact thing by sabotaging the Obama birth certificate investigation by providing tainted data to investigators.
I believe Montgomery’s continued presence has presented problems in Mike securing many credible experts that don’t want their expert findings conflated with Montgomery’s work. This is a shame, as experts have provided proof that Dominion (and many other vendors) facilitate fraud. The election system is integrated and can be subverted a 1,000 different ways.
What does this mean concerning the trial? Coomer has to prove Mike acted with actual malice to prove defamation. In other words, anything published by Mike, Mike had to know it was false. I think with a fair jury, this standard is almost impossible to meet. But I haven’t seen too many fair juries these past 4 years.
Mike Lindell is a patriot, marketer, and entrepreneur. He’s not a computer wizard. He’s not a trained investigator. He has tried to make sense of 2020, and listened to every voice on the subject. Some of those voices, unfortunately, weren’t playing for the good guys and were laying landmines for Mike.
All this to say, as long as Mike had a reasonable belief that what he was hearing was plausible and then formed a belief that what he shared at the time was not false, Coomer should lose this trial.
Don’t lose sight of the dynamics at work here. Everyone can apply 20/20 hindsight and nitpick. Mike has given the country everything he has to secure elections.
Dominion, Coomer, and Poulos have done everything they could to decimate legitimate elections.
