At one time, DePat handled FOUR daily open threads here, in addition to taking care of her relatives, choir duties, and numerous other responsibilities. She was a powerhouse – a dynamo – a true force of nature.
DePat’s faith in Trump, Q, “The Plan”, the White Hats, and “the anons” in general, was legendary. Although I didn’t always agree with her quick acceptance of some sketchier evidence and fringier theories, I will gladly admit to “coming around” to numerous so-called “conspiracy theories” which she championed first. I was always careful to give her credit for being right, too, when I had been wrong.
It is impossible to overstate how much DePat did for not only this site, but for her country. I urge all to say a quick prayer of thanks, whenever you think of her, for the privilege of knowing, in life or after death, such an exemplary human being, and lover of God.
And thank you, Susie, for the firm foundation which you left us, when you were called to your true home!
Private Messaging – The Role of This Site in Keeping with the Gospel
I had a bit of a revelation today, as I read today’s verse.
“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone.”
Matthew 18:15
I feel that this has several levels of impact on this site.
One of those levels is how we criticize people OUTSIDE this blog, in our analysis of the news. I think we are reasonably safe there, because we are generally not well known. If we bring attention to our discussion on X or Gab, that gets a bit trickier, because that is very public. And while it can be very difficult to DM famous people on X, it isn’t hard to drop them a kind word or a courteous critique in the depths of their timeline, knowing that hardly anybody is going to see it. Sadly, however, that “hardly anybody” typically does not include the intended recipient.
Other times, I believe that public critique of public figures is more than permissible – it’s our duty. But where do we draw lines around this? I think that’s a valid question.
I do believe that much of what we say here gets looked at by anonymous “white hats” – and that’s a good thing! So if you think somebody in the administration made an error, and needs counsel, your stated opinion here may actually find its way to them.
Here on the blog, between ourselves, it’s a bit tougher, because our interactions are DESIGNED to be public, and I encourage public communication as a way to keep things honest and “sunlight-disinfected”. Courteous speech allows quite a bit of conflict to be resolved publicly, in a surprisingly low-key way, thankfully.
People here do PM me sometimes using PMTW, but conflicts with other members are – between public crises – surprisingly few. People can always approach each other on Gab, X, or through me as well, although in keeping with the Gospel, it is perhaps better if one approaches another party directly. Sometimes people just sharing a frustration with me fits directly into what the Gospel advises (since I may be the one in need of counsel on doing my duty to resolve a conflict), or it can be a “private” way to get me to hint to another person that there is a problem. No matter what, I strive to do what God would want, as best as I can tell, at all times.
I would love to hear other people’s thoughts on this, ranging from personal experience to theology, and that is why I chose that for today’s topic. Please keep the message of Christ in mind – particularly Matthew 18:15 – as you do this. I am seeking not to drum up conflict, but rather the opposite.

They are menaces here in the mountains. In TN, September through February in the national and state parks is the season and is unlimited. You need a permit. Private property is open season all year with no permit. You can even bait and trap.

Very intelligent method for trapping feral hogs. I will add, the video I was looking for used cameras to determine WHEN the entire sounder was in the trap before closing the gate. In this way the hogs did not learn to avoid the trap.

The Department of Justice just exposed another elite medical school for doing exactly what the Supreme Court banned three years ago. UC San Diego School of Medicine ran a deliberate racial preference scheme that lowered the bar for Black and Hispanic applicants while shutting out higher-scoring White and Asian ones. They called it “hardship.” The feds called it illegal.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon did not mince the reality. In a scathing findings letter released Monday, her Civil Rights Division declared that San Diego Med “intentionally discriminated against applicants by granting and denying admission based on their race.” The school’s own internal data and emails left little room for spin.
After the Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, race-based admissions became illegal under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. California already banned the practice decades earlier with Proposition 209. None of that stopped UC San Diego’s medical school from building a workaround.
The Shadow ProcessAdmissions staff sorted applicants into academic tiers based on MCAT scores and GPAs. Then they created “hardship” subgroups inside those tiers. Reviewers used the hardship answers—stories of overcoming disadvantages—as a racial proxy to identify and advance Black and Hispanic candidates. Those applicants were batched and steered toward interviews at higher rates.
The numbers tell the story. For the classes entering in 2023, 2024, and 2025, Black applicants were admitted at more than double the rate of White applicants. In one recent cycle the Black admission rate hit 5.25 percent while the White rate sat at 1.96 percent. Meanwhile, the median MCAT scores of admitted Black and Hispanic students lagged well behind their White and Asian classmates—sometimes by more than a dozen percentile points. GPAs showed the same pattern.
Internal emails obtained by the DOJ make the intent unmistakable. In June 2023 the director of admissions openly recommended pulling lower-scoring Group C applicants into the interview pool specifically “to include as many URM applicants as possible.” URM—underrepresented minorities in medicine—is the school’s preferred racial category for Black and Hispanic students. The goal was explicit: enroll more of them.
Merit Takes a Back SeatThis is not some abstract debate about fairness. These are future physicians. When a medical school systematically admits students with weaker academic preparation in the name of racial balance, patients eventually pay the price. Competence is not a social construct. Diagnostic skill does not care about an applicant’s skin color or childhood hardship essay.

Deliberate violations of law cannot claim immunity. Personal liability in a civil rights case means that the plaintiffs can take the defendants’ cars, houses, recreational vehicles, etc. AND bankruptcy won’t save them from financial ruin because BK court is for negligence, not deliberate immoral acts.

Brandon Ortiz-Vite, serving 39 to 102 years for the cold-blooded killing of Ruby Garcia, claims he was “humiliated” when Trump rightly used his case to illustrate the deadly consequences of open borders.
One almost has to admire the sheer gall. A man who entered this country illegally, got deported, snuck back in, and then executed a young American woman now demands the keys to the kingdom as compensation for being called what he is: America’s problem.
This is far worse than just another frivolous lawsuit. It is a window into the moral inversion that open-border advocates have spent years cultivating. The victim is forgotten. The killer is centered. Justice is recast as persecution. And the man who dared to speak the truth about the human cost of failed immigration enforcement becomes the defendant.
Ortiz-Vite, a 27-year-old Mexican national, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the March 2024 slaying of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia in Grand Rapids. After an argument, he shot her multiple times in the head, dragged her body from her car, and left her on the shoulder of U.S. 131.
He fled in her vehicle, later turning himself in and confessing. He had previously been deported in 2020 after a drunk-driving arrest. His DACA status had expired years earlier. He simply returned illegally, as so many do under policies that treat our laws as suggestions.
Trump seized on the case during a 2024 campaign stop in Grand Rapids, correctly labeling Ortiz-Vite as emblematic of the murderers, rapists, and drug traffickers flooding across the southern border under the previous administration. His mugshot appeared in campaign ads. The killer now whines that this publicity “shattered my dignity,” turned him into a “target,” and caused him to be mocked by fellow inmates.
At last, a conservative news aggregator that does not bow to the woke right.
In his handwritten pro se complaint filed in federal court against Trump and White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Steven Cheung, Ortiz-Vite frets that “what only mattered was my race” and “my case and immigration status.”
He insists he “took full responsibility” yet somehow believes the nation owes him naturalization to “this beautiful country” plus a small fortune for the inconvenience of being identified as a killer.
“I was put into a category. Who I was as a person no longer mattered! … The shame it brought to my family name is a reality I have to live with now,” Ortiz-Vite wrote. “I took full responsibility for my actions but for them to use my case for political gain on TV was unjust. Humiliating.”
Unjust? Humiliating? The man who put multiple bullets into a young woman’s head and left her discarded like trash now postures as the aggrieved party. Legal experts have already dismissed the suit as dead on arrival. Former federal prosecutor Matthew Borgula noted that prisoner complaints are screened for frivolity, presidential immunity covers official acts, and mere embarrassment from true statements does not create a constitutional claim.
“The statements were substantially true, and being publicly embarrassed by a politician isn’t a constitutional violation. This case should end before it begins,” Borgula said.
Tudor Dixon, the former Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate, said, “As long as we have Democrats jetting to other countries to coddle criminal illegal aliens over margaritas, this level of arrogance and entitlement from convicted murderers will continue. It’s time lawmakers stand with the Ruby Garcias of the world instead of her killer.”

Yours Truly is fighting the good fight — taking lots of electrolyte drinks, balancing those out with some plain water, taking some more salt on food, staying indoors with the AC on during this nasty Central NC summer weather.
Solas is doing much better. The urine sample that was sent out by his local vet to be cultured came back fine. So the issue is the elevated pancreas lipase level. That’s being treated symptomatically. He will have an ultrasound scan of his “innards” next week. Those results will provide more information.

Hope you saw I mentioned that a lady said her vet recommended pediolyte for her dog. For my friend’s dog we mixed it with some home made chicken bone broth and he drank it down. The dog was having problems with the heat. Very lethargic and would not eat.

Regarding Matthew 18:15-17
15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
In interactions here, my take is we here are in public. A pronouncement made here is similar to one made in any public place where others are present.
This came up for me not all that long ago in real life. I was at a Bible study where a woman made an assertion that was extremely against what Scripture says one should do, and it was actually spiritually dangerous. We were discussing Satan and how to deal with spiritual attacks, and she said “every day, the first thing I do in the morning is rebuke the devil!”
Even the Archangel Michael wouldn’t directly rebuke Satan! He instead said “the Lord rebuke you.”
In that moment, I made the wrong choice, and said nothing. The leader of the group, a very nice woman, said she “didn’t do that.” But no direct confrontation of the woman’s assertion was made. I’ve regretted not speaking up ever since. But I’m a “baby Christian,” and the speaker is a more “respected” person in the group, and I admit it, I was intimidated and unsure of myself and my understanding.
Since we were in a public forum, I’ve been reliably advised that I could have, within Matthew 18 guidelines, called out her error. At the time, I didn’t understand that. But her error could effect the spiritual well being of all the hearers in the room. That is the rationale, anyway.
Anyway, from all of that, it feels to me like when I or anyone posts here, we are already at “step three” of Matthew 18. Everybody here is “the church,” and the disagreement is being revealed to them. The disagreement is public when it starts, because the initial post is public. The reason I push hard on certain issues is not just because of me. It’s because of who knows how many people who are reading. I always post with those people in mind.
The “last step” of Matthew 18 then, is for the church itself to react to the disagreement. That rarely happens here, but sometimes it does. In some disagreements, I have noticed push-back from members here in various, usually mild ways. I have seen (and exercised) the strategy of ignoring the person (let them be to you as a heathen or tax collector). Sometimes I have argued hard against what the person is saying, because I see it as somehow harmful or important, and I have seen others do that, too (agreement is not always reached, either; sometimes it’s agree to disagree, let the reader decide). And in rare cases, the church “leader,” i.e. YOU, Wolf, have removed a person from the group.
It feels to me like we are “living out” Matthew 18 in the best way we can, given the “unusual” quality of our church. I would be interested in what others think about this.
Somehow, the United States government has got to get DR. PETER DASZAK to testify, under oath, about his knowledge and activities regarding the DEFUSE proposal, about his deep connections with Dr. Anthony Fauci, about Daszak’s money laundering of NIH grants to EcoHealth over to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, about Daszak’s connections with Dr. Ralph Baric, and many other things.
ALSO — it’s time to have ex-FBI director CHRISTOPHER WRAY arrested and interrogated regarding WHY he told the FBI to do the “hands off” on Daszak back in 2021.
