Dear MAGA: 20260723 ✾ TRUST THE PLAN ✾ Thursday Open Topic

Sometimes you have to have faith.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Plan!

We have created this site as a place for people to openly express their thoughts and opinions. This is a place where honest but civil discussion of all topics is encouraged. This particular thread is – for the moment – TRUST THE PLAN Thursday. You are welcome to say what you think, in a civil and courteous manner that loves your neighbor. Free speech matters! Courteous speech makes it happen.

Please label all AI-generated content as being such, unless it is patently obvious (e.g., humorous AI images). It is important that we as individuals not begin to pretend that socially derived artificial intelligence is actually our own, as this form of stealthy social information averaging and feedback would be one more pretense and deception between people, in service of stupid Marxist socialism, and of those who wish to substitute their communally protected lies for actual truth.

You are you. AI is AI. Keep your identity. Don’t “Borg Out” on us!

And yes, it’s THURSDAY…again.

That was stolen from Wheatie.

Let’s steal her rules, too.

  • No food fights.
  • No running with scissors.
  • If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

Other rules may be derivable from these, and that conjecture is left for discussion.

Evolution Favors Belief in God

Yeah, I thought that was rather interesting.

No, I’m not going to cite some researcher – some MSM publication – some “source”.

I don’t care what Margaret Brennan or Neil DeGrasse Tyson thinks about it. I’m fully prepared to do my own thinking, and (in my opinion) you should, too – whether you trust or believe evolutionary theory, or not.

You don’t need an authority to tell you to believe the obvious. Believe BACK at all authority.

Which is actually – very ironically – what this post is about. It’s WHY evolution favors religious belief – because – OMG – people obviously, by and large, believe, religiously, in God, or something like God.

What I am saying is that the default position of evolution – that “it’s there because it works” must be applied to mankind’s tendency toward religious belief – whether or not we choose to explain it – whether or not we like it.

Evolution’s first position is that it’s there because it works. And if it has been there a long time, even more so.

And by WORKS, we are saying – to varying but non-zero degrees – that it has some kind of advantage over both potential and actual alternatives.

This remarkable trivial truth is what I would classify as a “self-evident truth” – because anybody with common sense can see that evolutionary theory is in a complete paradox and hem-haw disarray otherwise. The obvious and nearly universal human tendency toward religious belief clearly outlasted millions of years of active Darwinian removal of problems. We don’t have to explain why. Science can do so if it chooses, or it can punt the ball. Doesn’t matter to the facts. Those facts simply ARE.

Evolution likes religion. DEAL.

Explanations of the (to them) annoying fact by materialists and atheists tend to try to paint the evolutionary truth into some corner of randomness or error, but that doesn’t even get to first base with me – a diehard evolutionist – and it should not cut it with you. Major features have alternatives, and when those alternatives are absent, or demonstrate obvious problems when they are not absent, it becomes too patently obvious that the existing feature is advantageous, and the alternatives are not.

Evolutionary mistakes are the exception, not the rule, and the longer something is conserved, the more likely it’s not a mistake, but actually favored. We have to look at Occam’s Razor – right? RIGHT? Because watch any evolutionary argument, and that’s what happens. Conservation through “big time” is always considered prima facie evidence of advantage, in evolution. One simply has to do work to find the advantage and convince others WHY.

Or just rest – for the moment – on the truth nobody wants to talk about. Evolution favored religious belief.

Here is the TL;DR –

Religious belief is one of the things that makes you human. Religion may say so, but evolution says so, too.

Religion says “because”. Evolution says “because it’s there”. And what do you know – religious belief is there.

Enjoy it. And don’t bother with external validation, because YOU are the validation. Your eyes, your ears, your brain, and your logic. Most of all, your belief.

No, I can’t moonwalk. But I can do the Grammar Nazi Polka.

But not very well.

Happy Thursday.

cthulhu

Is the Grammar Nazi Polka anything like this?

pgroup

I have no idea since I don’t dance.

cthulhu

Incidentally, “The Golden Age” is a Russian ballet about American football. It’s meant to be mocking.

Gail Combs

I do not want Hubby to hear that. He would probably want to polka…

When stationed in Germany, my Ex and I were sent to an Octoberfest party with the German military officers. My Ex did not dance. When the Germans found out I could actually polka, I never got a chance to sit down!

And yes, I could do a polka, polska, schottische, foxtrot and waltz. Just do not ask for a modern dance.🙃

Here’s the sport I would pick:

Lacrosse, also known as stickball or the Creator’s Game, is the oldest team sport in North America, originating over a thousand years ago among Indigenous peoples including the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy, Cherokee, and Choctaw nations.

“There’s a lot of talk about how Dems grabbed the affluent college-educated whites who used to be Republican voters, and that’s true, to an extent. But a lot of these are wine women, particularly single ones and including young ones, and they’re psychotic and will further alienate normal people (married women still prefer Republicans).”

_______________

That’s not how it works.

Young single women, left to their own devices, by a large majority, go hard Left.

And many of them do appear to be psychotic, if you watch some of the tens (hundreds?) of thousands of tik-tok or instagram or y/t video shorts they post about themselves.

They only become ‘conservative’ (or at least vote that way) if they marry one (i.e., a conservative). One who is strong enough to lead, instead of being led.

But no one is allowed to talk about that — including Kurt — because it breaks the feminist narrative spell of women in charge of everything, and no one — not even Kurt — is allowed to speak plain truth about it.

It’s like a third rail of politics, nobody will touch it.

Except me. I use that third rail like a carpool lane in a traffic jam, because it’s always empty 🤣

You should not assume that Kurt is a warrior. He was a JAG officer. In plain English, a military lawyer. He may have last used an M-16 in boot camp.

Sorry, but I disagree.

I started out as fairly liberal when I was young, mostly as a rebellion against my abusive conservative parents.

I became Conservative on my own, when 9/11 reality-checked the shit out of me. That’s what happened. I liken it to being sound asleep and awakening to gunfire and bombs dropped all around.

I don’t know if there will be a “9/11” awakening for this group of young liberal idiots. If not, we will just have to overwhelm them.

I like overwhelming the enemy. Better them than us.

Kurt: “But the big problem for Democrats is their biggest and most loyal constituency, blacks. We’re already seeing the fallout in Texas, where the darling of the faculty/Chardonnay set, heretical imp James Talarico, defeated noted particle physicist Jasmine Crockett in the Senate primary. Well, Jazzy C and black Texans aren’t taking that very well. They believe, not without merit, that they have been ripped off. And they have been.

Democrats take blacks for granted, which is the fault of blacks because they’ve allowed themselves, until now, to be taken for granted.”

___________

Now they’re victims of the d-Rat party? They got PAID. They always get paid. They’re not Barney Fife, and this ain’t Mayberry.

.

Kurt: “But a black woman just roasted Talarico at one of his rallies, bringing this to a head. He’s already a problem because, well, blacks tend to be religious, and this guy is a blasphemous demon in human form who spreads satanic lies that will lead the unwary to eternal damnation.

______________

Hard to believe they’re very religious, while simultaneously being the most violent demographic on earth 😂

.

Kurt: “Black folk aren’t down with that. And it’s only going to get worse for the Democrats because blacks across the country are going to demand their share of the power, power that the ascendant leftists want for themselves.”

______________

Their ‘share’ of power is equal to about 6%, or the percentage of the adult African population in America.

SIX PERCENT.

That’s their ‘fair share’.

Any more than that is overrepresentation.

You are equating all black people, and that’s not reality.

The demographic you are talking about are urban blacks.

Rural black people don’t behave the same. They ARE religious, deeply so. And family oriented.

Cities ruin people. All people. That is my contention, and has been for years. Human beings are not designed to live like ants. It makes them crazy in unpredictable ways.

Robert Baker

Cities ruin people.

On this point we are fellow travelers. We are walking the same direction. I know of some perspectives that view cities as the highest achievements of humanity. I see them as creative efforts and civilizational feats, but they suffer from the eventual decay of human vice.

pgroup

Sort of like hay.

If you cut hay when it’s too green, a pile of it can ignite itself.

Reminds me of the mice Utopia experiment. I escaped the madness by heading to my boarding stable every evening to ride. I opted to pay board instead of paying for a new car.

Sir ES

Cities enable anonymity – and when so many strangers are present, one may ‘get away’ without consequence for ones trangressions.

In smaller town, the knit of residents is much tighter, so that word gets around very quickly, even with disparate groups. There’s always *some* connections among these groups.

Large metropolises end up dehumanizing people – the ‘rot’ always ensues. Hitler came to power, among other motivation, to clean up Berlin when it became a ‘den of iniquity.’

It’s been said that individuals are smart … but *crowds* are stupid.

The book “Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds” is a staple for insights into the psychology of crowds / mobs / etc. Quite informative!

Gail Combs

I can certainly understand what you are saying.

Our current neighborhood thief has been told in no uncertain terms he is NOT welcome in the area and he is so scared of my very nice next door neighbor he scaddles when he sees his truck.

Way past any of the nonsense about using the existence of one good to excuse or explain away or dismiss the depravity and violence of the many.

The world can’t operate on anecdotes.

They clearly have no intention to police themselves, and when the majority does it for them, we’re called racists. So it’s a perfect Catch-22, where the minority is empowered to victimize, rape and murder the majority — with impunity.

And that’s exactly what has happened, to the shock and surprise of nobody with even an ounce of common sense.

.

“Rural black people don’t behave the same. They ARE religious, deeply so. And family oriented.”

________________

And yet 95% of blacks, including the ultra-religious ones, voted for Hussein Obama in 2008, the most hateful, racist and divisive politician in American history.

And then, to make sure nobody could ever mistake it for an accident, they did it again (93%) in 2012.

The d-Rat party, objectively and provably, is the God-hating, America-hating, Constitution-hating, Baby-murder loving Party of Sodom & Gomorrah.

It’s the party of crime, corruption and lawlessness.

They literally kicked God off of their Party Platform, and when they realized, with shock, that it was going to cost them votes, they had to ram God back onto the platform at the Convention, over the obvious and loud objection of their own delegates. Soviet style.

Anyone who claims to be “deeply religious” and votes for Hussein Obama and the d-Rats doesn’t need to waste their time trying to explain it to me.

They can explain it at the Judgment.

“The world can’t operate on anecdotes.”

It’s not anecdotal, it’s sociological.

And Barack Obama was about as effective a psy-op as was ever run on Americans.

Not only was he black, he was smooth enough to make a whole lot of white people vote for him, too. I myself said at the time that he would make it so a decent black would have no chance at the presidency for 50 years. I still think that’s true.

I believe it is true that black people tend to revert to tribalism more than other groups. I think that their marginalization for so long (remember; they were required to use different water fountains, lunch counters, hotels, etc. only sixty years ago. A lot of those people are still living) enhanced the tendency towards tribalism.

scott467

Make it so.

______________

Kurt: “Here’s another ka-boom that’s coming that only a few people are talking about right now. Cuba is about to go under. The clock is ticking, and the commie dictatorship has maybe got a year or so left. Here’s the Dems’ problem. The Dirección de Inteligencia (DI) has spent over 60 years infiltrating the left in the United States.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass went to Havana and trained with these communist bastards, but there are a lot more big names on the left of the party who are tied in with Cuban intelligence. Cuba is going to fall; Marco Rubio has that as one of his 87 jobs.

And when that grotesque regime’s collapse accelerates, a lot of DI officials are going to want to ensure that they don’t swing from a lamppost or worse. I married a Cuban–they’re not a forgiving people, and they’re going to make the people who oppressed them pay.

So, if you’re a high-ranking DI officer, you’re going to want to make American intelligence an offer it can’t refuse to save your worthless hide, and that means trading stolen records on the DI’s intelligence network in the United States that includes prominent Democrats.

That’s going to happen, and it’s going to be earth-shattering. People throw the word “treason” around a lot, but working with the communists to subvert the United States is literally treason, and it’s been happening.

Do not expect the Trump administration to forgive and forget, and even the regime media is going to be unable to hide the indictments. The Democrats will, correctly, be painted as the party of traitors.”

I am also going to add this:

“…Then there’s something they really can blame on the Jews. The Dems will have to deal with Jews’ sense of self-preservation as the Democrats fully embrace their new Hamas constituency and work to ensure Israel and the Israelis are annihilated…”

It is ALL about demographics.

Brave AI

The United States is home to the largest or second-largest Jewish community in the world, following Israel.

Core Population Estimates

  • Total Core Population: Approximately 7.5 million people (2.4% of the U.S. population) as of 2020.
  • Adults: About 5.8 million adults, including 4.2 million who identify as Jewish by religion and 1.5 million who are Jews of no religion.
  • Children: Roughly 1.8 million children living in Jewish households.
  • Demographics: 👉The median age is 49, with 49% of the population aged 50 or older.

>>>>>>>>>>

Now compare that to the Muslimes who breed like rabbits.

Brave AI

Estimates for the U.S. Muslim population in 2022 varied between 3.5 million and 4.5 million, representing approximately 1% to 1.3% of the total U.S. population.

  • The 2020 United States Religion Census (cited in 2022) reported approximately 4.45 million Muslims, or 1.34% of the population.
  • Islam remained the third-largest religion in the U.S. after Christianity and Judaism.
  • Demographic trends indicated rapid growth, with projections suggesting the population could reach 8.1 million by 2050
  • Young Adults:👉 Adults aged 18 to 39 comprised 60% of the Muslim American adult population, versus 38% of the overall U.S. adult population.

The DemonRats are banking on the Muslimes becoming Democrats.

She won’t back down.

Caitlin Clark did in the 2024 season, she bent the knee to the wokesters, and everybody was disappointed. In fairness, Caitlin was a rookie, and under the spotlight, but it was wrong and she shouldn’t have done it.

Brave Ai: In December 2024, Caitlin Clark sparked significant backlash and disappointment among her fan base after an interview with Time magazine, where she was named Athlete of the Year.

• The Comments: Clark stated that while she earned her success, she acknowledged her “white privilege” and emphasized that the WNBA was built by Black players, urging brands to invest more in elevating Black women in the league.

• The Backlash: Conservative commentators, including Megyn Kelly and outlets like OutKick, criticized her remarks as “bending the knee” to a “woke mob” and apologizing for being white.

• The Reaction: The comments were described by critics as condescending and insincere, leading to claims that she “lost thousands of fans” and that her fan base was “turning on her” for catering to political ideologies they felt were no longer mainstream.

Indiana Fever shooting guard and team enforcer Sophie Cunningham is making the rounds, first becoming a viral sensation with her pointing meme from a June 24 game against the Phoenix Mercury: she and DeWanna Bonner got into it in a tense fourth quarter filled with technical fouls and drama. Cunningham’s pointing and trolling of Bonner has become a fan favorite staple.

_______________

She’s not really an enforcer — just look at her, she’s no thug… it’s like calling Cheryl Tiegs or Farah Fawcett or Christie Brinkley an ‘enforcer’ 😂

From the fairly long ESPN article:

………………………..
“She has worked on perfecting her particular segment of the middle ground. As the feisty one, the protective one, maybe even the overprotective one. An enforcer, you might say, though Cunningham wouldn’t.

I am not the enforcer,” she says. “I am not a bodyguard. I am just going to do whatever the team needs. And if my teammates need me to stick up for them, I will do that.”

And so if Caitlin Clark is on the receiving end of an eye poke, after being on the receiving end of extra bumps and extra jawing and extra physicality that Cunningham thought should’ve warranted fouls but weren’t called as such all season long? That’s more than Cunningham’s call to action. By gawd, that’s Sophie Cunningham’s music.

And in part because Clark is who Clark is (the league’s most polarizing megastar), and Cunningham is who Cunningham is (the league’s most avid avenger), an end-of-game fight in a middle-of-the-season game became a thing. The thing. It’s still a thing a year later, when a finger point becomes its own cultural maelstrom. Now, Cunningham is a middle-of-the-pack player with leading-woman star power.

All for doing what she has done her entire life.”
……………………….

Long before Photoshop when I was in my 20s, there was a guy in the San Fernando Valley who altered that poster the old-fashioned way [don’t ask me because I don’t know how it’s done].

He made very few copies and I didn’t get one.

He did a very good job making that lovely Farrah poster into a nude poster. It was impossible to tell that it was an altered pic.

Speaking as an artist, Sophie Cunningham is objectively beautiful. Her features are symmetrical and just gorgeous. She could easily be a top model if she was so inclined.

I like that she is more inclined in the direction of speaking her mind and kicking ass, however.

I’m just about certain it was this performance, because Dave Brubeck, playing piano, is watching the sax player like a hawk.

The Mohammed Retirement Plan Won’t Save European Socialism. It Will Bury It

https://thewashingtonstandard.com/the-mohammed-retirement-plan-wont-save-european-socialism-it-will-bury-it/

Europe expects the Muslim world to bail out its shrinking birth rate by working and paying into the system so that its aging population can retire.

The Muslim migrants, however, expect Europe to subsidize their large families with its welfare state while they deal some drugs and chop off some heads on the side.

Why should 23-year-old Mohammed work for four decades so that Hans or Fritz across the way can retire at 61 and lie on a beach in Mallorca?

Mohammed is Fritz’s retirement plan. But Mohammed has a very different type of plan.

Fritz is counting on Mohammed to work while he relaxes.

Mohammed relaxes and expects Fritz to work. Fritz is not related to him and, therefore, Mohammed sees no reason why he should work to support him.

European social democracy reduces society to a giant insurance plan in which money is pooled together.

But insurance is forbidden in Islam, which considers it to be gambling. European social democracy expects him to bail it out, but to Mohammed, European values are a crime against Islam.

Mohammed’s Imam will tell him to work off the books because paying into the system is gambling.

However, taking money out of the system is just Jizya, the money non-Muslims are obligated to pay to Muslims. Under Islamic law, it’s better for Mohammed to sell drugs than to pay taxes.

That’s why drug dealing and petty crime are such popular occupations for Salafis in Europe. It’s preferable to steal from infidels than to participate in the great gamble of the European welfare state.

Mohammed isn’t staking his future on the shaky pensions of European socialism. He invests in what social scientists call social capital.

He plans his retirement by having a dozen kids.

If this lifestyle is subsidized by infidel social services, so much the better. And when social services collapse, those of his kids who aren’t in prison or in ISIS will be there to look after him in his golden years.

As retirement plans go, it’s older and better than the European model.

They can take there ethanol and shove it where the sun don’t shine and then LIGHT IT!

I already mentioned how bad corn is for the land yesterday and the fact corn EATS as much or more fuel than it ‘saves’

From my old notes I have 9 pages)
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1725975,00.html

The Clean Energy Scam – The U.S. quintupled its production of ethanol–ethyl alcohol, a fuel distilled from plant matter–in the past decade, and Washington has just mandated another fivefold increase in renewable fuels over the next decade. Europe has similarly aggressive biofuel mandates and subsidies, and Brazil’s filling stations no longer even offer plain gasoline. Worldwide investment in biofuels rose from $5 billion in 1995 to $38 billion in 2005 and is expected to top $100 billion by 2010, thanks to investors like Richard Branson and George Soros, GE and BP, Ford and Shell, Cargill and the Carlyle Group.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2008-04-14/biofuel-production-a-crime-against-humanity/2403402

Biofuels ‘crime against humanity’ – Massive production of biofuels is “a crime against humanity” because of its impact on global food prices, a UN official has told German radio. “Producing biofuels today is a crime against humanity,” UN Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food Jean Ziegler told Bayerischer Runfunk radio. Many observers have warned that using arable land to produce crops for biofuels has reduced surfaces available to grow food. Mr Ziegler called on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to change its policies on agricultural subsidies and to stop supporting only programs aimed at debt reduction. He says agriculture should also be subsidised in regions where it ensures the survival of local populations. Meanwhile, in response to a call by the IMF and World Bank over the weekend to a food crisis that is stoking violence and political instability, German Foreign Minister Peer Steinbrueck gave his tacit backing.

Huge amounts of western water is used to irrigate corn for biofuels.

a study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T) concludes that if every vehicle in the U.S. ran on ethanol-based fuel, the number of respiratory-related deaths and hospitalizations would likely increase.
You read that right, widespread use of E85 would likely result in an increase in respiratory-related deaths and hospitalizations.
Stanford University atmospheric chemist Mark Z. Jacobson, author of the study said (2):

“Ethanol is being promoted as a clean and renewable fuel that will reduce global warming and air pollution, but our results show that a high blend of ethanol poses an equal or greater risk to public health than gasoline, which already causes significant health damage.”

…Brazil is the only country in the world where a large-scale ethanol fuel program, introduced in 1979, has been implemented. By 1997, approximately 4 million Brazilian automobiles ran on neat ethanol (100% ethanol) and another 9 million ran on an ethanol-gasoline blend (22% ethanol) (4). Since the introduction of ethanol fuel in Brazil, several studies on air quality have been conducted that confirm Jacobson’s recent projections.
In 1990, the concentration of ambient acetaldehyde was determined to be the most abundant carbonyl in three major cities of Brazil (5). Indeed, acetaldehyde concentrations in urban areas of Brazil were substantially higher than concentrations measured elsewhere in the world, and was thought to be the result of large-scale ethanol fuel use. A more recent study measuring the ambient concentrations of up to 61 carbonyls in Rio de Janeiro found that the most abundant were formaldehyde and acetaldehyde (6). The authors ranked measured carbonyls with respect to ozone formation potential and reaction with OH and found that ozone formation is dominated by formaldehyde (43% of total) followed by acetaldehyde (32%)…

The size of the global seed market is estimated to be close to US$21 billion and the top

ten companies’ shares compose more than 51 per cent of the total market.85 Leading seed companies have a keen interest in production and marketing of pesticides. These companies control close to 70 per cent of the US$28 billion agrochemical market.86 Monsanto and DuPont alone now control 90 per cent of the corn seed market in the United States and 70 per cent of the Asian corn market, which are major energy crops in the region. Monsanto alone covers the market share of 59 to 97 per cent of GM crops, including GM soybean (91 per cent), GM maize (97 per cent), GM cotton (64 per cent) and GM canola (59 per cent)…. Furthermore, since the race is on for the identification of new varieties for better oil yields, there is a good possibility that the issues related to biopiracy may come back on the centre stage. There is a reported case of such a piracy from one of the Indian universities where a company collected germplasm from 18 local varieties of the oil-yielding jatropha plant, including the high-quality pendra variety.87 http://www.unapcaem.org/publication/Biofuel.pdf

Yesterday afternoon at walmart:

they’re remodeling the store–starting with the floor. the old one was very old, and this new shiny one is… weird. But they are moving everything around and creating l-o-n-g aisles and people are wandering around looking for stuff everywhere. SO much so, that the customer service reps are wearing t-shirts that say–what can i help you find…lol

Anyway, I was in the kitchen section looking for small cups (plastic or glass) to use when i make pudding. couldn’t find anything like that. I turned to see if my cart was blocking a small, older, oriental woman who was wandering around like me. I said–it’s tough to find anything in here now. She smiled and said she was looking for thread. My face lit up–I know where THAT is…lol and i told her how to get there.

She asked–what’s it doing in the middle of the clothes? how they expect us to find anything?

We chatted for 5 minutes about the changes in the store and how i missed Joannes*–She had never heard about it before. She stood there like I was describing heaven. It’s gone now? she asked. I nodded.

Then this sweet little lady simply said…bastards.

LOLOLOOLOLOL

*Joannes was a fabric/craft shop.

Sir ES

The fall of Joanne’s Fabrics was engineered by a private equity firm, lulling the upper management to receive millions, and even more for the PE firm.

The mgmt accepted the loan offer, and within a short time, interest rates went up significantly, and Joanne’s couldn’t pay.

So, the inventory went downhill, both in quality and quantity, and customers either had to wait for months, or simply never received them.

Joanne’s became behind the 8-ball, and within a few months their suppliers stopped supplying. It was an amazingly rapid destruction of a once healthy and profitable chain (~700 locations), and the PE got the majority of equity, and the upper mgmt did get millions, but nowhere near the profits of the PE.

I’m reminded of the movie “Goodfellas,’ when Paul Sorvino’s character (the boss) agreed to take over a restaurant, and quickly squeezed out every dollar he could – selling deliveries out the back door, paying no vendor invoices, and ultimately burning down the restaurant … for the insurance payout!

Destruction pays, when one can get away with it …

America is also in a situation very much like Joanne’s – but on a MUCH larger scale, and for a MUCH longer time.

patfrederick

we’ve lost a lot by losing physical fabric stores. places like walmart have limited options and hardly the best quality.
I could (and have) spent hours in Joanne’s finding what i needed and almost every time finding something i wasn’t looking for, but just by seeing it in personal made me buy it.
Buying on line doesn’t offer the same experience. I’ve already purchased a piece of fabric that looked perfect on line only to receive it and be disappointed.

Gail Combs

We made a trip to the Boston Area that included a trip to my favorite mill end shop and I returned home with a car filled to the brim with fabric I am still using. After the 1980s you could not get GOOD close tight weave fake fur any more. I have boxes of it stored for making saddle pads.

patfrederick

before Joann’s there was Cloth World around here. Mostly fabric–more so than even Joann’s. The Cloth World in the bigger town next to ours occupied the entire main floor of an old department store. you could get lost in the bolts!!

I’ve seen the cheaper knock offs of plaid fabrics–printed on–so you can never find the actual straight grain. that annoys me. and now there’s computer printed fabrics–$30 a yard. they’re gorgeous, but $30 a yard??? no thanks.

Gail Combs

I HATE the printed on fabrics.

patfrederick

me too!

Here is a bit about the ABA and its standards for accreditation of law schools. FYI the ABA has a monopoly.

If a law school doesn’t please the ABA then there’s no accreditation.

What’s the big deal about that?

Lots of states will not allow graduates from non-accredited law schools to take the Bar exam. No pass Bar exam, no get Bar license.

Knowledge of law and legal skills? Nope, gotta have DEI training.

President Trump had to threaten the ABA to get rid of its DEI requirement that it imposed on law schools seeking accreditation.

The ABA reluctantly folded.

Any bets that a bunch of lawyers isn’t currently working on a workaround, so they can keep the DEI horseshit?

I didn’t think so.

Aubergine

On evolution, here’s my thing:

If evolution, the kind where one creature who lives in the sea becomes a creature of land, where fins and gills become legs and a nose, exists; where is ANY example of that partial transition extant in the current world?

Because if evolution, the kind that resulted in US from the “primordial swamp,” exists, then it didn’t just “stop” when we resulted.

So where is it?

pgroup

If you keep asking pesky questions, you’re gonna become annoying.

Just saying.

Aubergine

Lol. Most people would say I’m already there!

barkerjim

Never!!!

patfrederick

we clearly misgendered it, and it crawled BACK into the ooze, offended.

Gail Combs

HERE!

Aubergine

Sure, but it’s doing it on FINS.

What I am looking for is a fish with a precursor limb. Like a “fin with toes,” or a fin that is halfway to a hand.

Because logically, if we came from a fish, at one time we were a fish with legs.

The human knee doesn’t function if you change one tiny thing about it. So how did the “fish with half a knee” get onto land and feed itself? If the fish developed the leg because the food was better on land, how did it take its first step out of water to catch the prey, without a functioning knee? Did a knee “spontaneously” grow all at once, so the fish could walk out and eat?

The answer is, of course, no it did not.

Aubergine

I am officially declaring a position on a thing today.

Promethean Action is NOT our friend.

Over on CTH, Promethean Action is an article again today. And I have seen it here, too. But here’s the thing; PA has some sketchy origins and associations. No bueno, in my opinion.

We, former collaborators of Lyndon LaRouche, many for 50 years or more, founded the Promethean Action organization in 2024, changing the name from LaRouche PAC Action. The Political Action Committee, LaRouchePAC, also changed its name, becoming Promethean PAC. “

https://www.prometheanaction.com/mission_statement/

THIS GUY? Are you shitting me? From GOOGLE AI (bold underlining is mine):

“Lyndon LaRouche began his political life as a member of the Socialist Workers Party, a prominent American Trotskyist group, before turning his movement into a far-right, eccentric political cult.

Early Trotskyist Years

  • Party Member: Joined the Socialist Workers Party (SWP) and its youth branch in 1948, identifying as a hardened Trotskyist.
  • Internal Faction: Spent years writing about Marxist and Trotskyist economic theory while working as a management consultant in New York City.
  • The Split: Left the SWP in 1963 following ideological disputes, moving through the New Left and Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) before forming his own distinct group, the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC).

Shift Away from Trotskyism

  • Violent Turn: In the early 1970s, LaRouche’s organization engaged in aggressive street fights and physical attacks against rival communist and leftist groups in New York.
  • Shift to the Right: By the late 1970s and 1980s, LaRouche completely abandoned orthodox Trotskyism and Marxism, pivoting toward extreme right-wing, nationalist, and bizarre conspiracy theories while occasionally attempting tactical alliances with conservative groups

—————–

Have we REALLY not learned by now that the “pivoting” is a TACTIC of these people? These kinds of leopards don’t actually change spots.

Promethean Action seems to be another “blame the Jews” and City of London” cult.

I believe, from all I have seen and read over the last years, that what we are really seeing in the EU and Canada is the result of collaboration between China and Islam to take over the West. Britain is a convenient pawn, City of London is a front for China, and Israel is a scapegoat.

We get tied up in “conspiracy theory” by way of the manipulation of people like Susan Kokinda, who appears to be quite persuasive to a lot of people. But not to me.

Calling it like I see. Let the games begin, I guess.

pgroup

You’re sounding like me. That can be good or bad, depending.

Aubergine

Lol, better than being all alone out here.

Update on the Arizona Medicaid Fraud Scam

Up to 2,000 Native Americans are feared dead or missing

The treatment centers would come into the are with white vans. They would feed people fentanyl pills, drugs and alcohol to get them into the vans

They would bring them to treatment centers and then lock them in rooms

“Once they’re in these homes, we found out that a lot of them were locked from the outside of the house, so they couldn’t get out — There was cameras all over these houses. There was wires all over the fences.
So, we’ve had our Native relatives literally have to jump over the fence and, you know, and escape, break a window and escape, jump through the second story window”

There were also reports of shootings of people who tried to leave, bodies were buried in unmarked graves. They stole up to $12 billion dollars with fraudulent claims

The reason they would lock these people in houses and fake treatment centers and feed them drugs was because the longer they could keep the patient, the longer they could bill Medicaid

Taxpayers paid for it all

The whistleblower says it’s still going on

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

Verse of the Day for Thursday, July 23, 2026

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.”

Psalms 5:11 (KJV)

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 5

God will certainly hear prayer: David gives to God the glory, and takes to himself the comfort. (1-6) He prayed for himself, that God would guide him, and for all the Lord’s people, that God would give them joy, and keep them safe. (7-12)

1-6 God is a prayer-hearing God. Such he has always been, and he is still as ready to hear prayer as ever. The most encouraging principle of prayer, and the most powerful plea in prayer, is, to look upon him as our King and our God. David also prays to a sin-hating God. sin is folly, and sinners are the greatest of all fools; fools of their own making. Wicked people hate God; justly are they hated of him, and this will be their endless misery and ruin. Let us learn the importance of truth and sincerity, in all the affairs of life. Liars and murderers resemble the devil, and are his children, therefore it may well be expected that God should abhor them. These were the characters of David’s enemies; and such as these are still the enemies of Christ and his people.

7-12 David prayed often alone, yet was very constant in attendance on public worship. The mercy of God should ever be the foundation both of our hope and of our joy, in every thing wherein we have to do with him. Let us learn to pray, not for ourselves only, but for others; grace be with all that love Christ in sincerity. The Divine blessing comes down upon us through Jesus Christ, the righteous or just One, as of old it did upon Israel through David, whom God protected, and placed upon the throne. Thou, O Christ, art the righteous Saviour, thou art the King of Israel, thou art the Fountain of blessing to all believers; thy favour is the defence and protection of thy church.

Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

TEACH US TO PRAY, LORD

Our hearts, minds, and souls are distressed
No wonder with daily life we are stressed
What the enemy has wrought upon us
Is nothing short of a binding truss

Whatever is sacred whatever is true
They have stripped and turned us blue
They have jailed the innocent and they beat
They have stoked the fire turned up the heat

And thus we come to Your Heavenly Throne
Begging for mercy Humbly to atone
We are drugged discouraged and drowned
While weak You are strong we cannot back down

Teach us to Pray, Lord – Teach us to Pray
Help us get through each troubling day
Raise up our spirits and Heal our bodies
Help us shake off these poorly clad shoddies

Give us the words pleasing to You
Help us speak victory out of the blue
Deliver us from all that is plaguing us
Break us free from this binding truss

Tether our words with the Word of God
Break our chains Let us not be flawed
Send us a prayer written by Your Scribe
Unite us together in Your Holy Tribe

We know not how to pray as we ought
The Spirit moans the battle is fought
Jesus gave us a prayer the best of all
Our Father in Heaven to Him we call

We pray on the Armor of God each day
To keep the enemy and his friends at bay
We feel protected by the Heavenly Host
The Army of Angels we need the most

Teach us to Pray, Lord – Teach us to Pray
Remind us to come to You ev’ry day
Help us to trust You with all of our hearts
Because it beckons to You and imparts

Our understanding is no match for Yours
Vengeance is Your way to fight the wars
Acknowledgement is critical as well
No one wants to end up in Hell

We thank You, Lord, for chatting with us
For clearing the air and silencing the fuss
To You, Lord, we give Honor and Praise
And Glory, Lord, for the rest of our days!

Mom takes both of those, Gail. They help a lot with the tremors and other Parkinson’s symptoms. But watch out for the dosage. They started mom out on so much that she was practically a zombie! I had to insist that it be lowered and that helped a lot. Also, strange as it sounds, people on those drugs often have a tendency to want to gamble or fall for scams.

Good morning, C&C, it’s Thursday! Today’s roundup includes: Washington’s most generous new debt-forgiveness program — up to $1.8 million wiped clean, one small condition attached, and somehow Democrats hate it; the Times’ heartbreaking profile of a woman seventeen years late for a court-ordered flight home; a freshman Congressman’s one-page bill that accomplishes what nine black robes couldn’t; House Republicans stapling the SAVE Act to everything that isn’t nailed down, then daring the Senate to keep peeling it off on camera; fourteen states running the most effective copy-and-paste operation since the invention of the college term paper; and Joe Biden’s bold legal theory that his words are public record on paper but classified in audio — an argument two D.C. judges declined to hear, in every sense.

Peace and Tranquility Prayers

Prayer for a Calm Heart

Lord of Peace, as evening falls, I seek the calmness only You can provide. Quell the storms of my mind and replace anxiety with Your peace. As the world quiets down, let my heart do the same. May Your presence envelop me so that I may know tranquility tonight and always. Amen.

Serenity at Day’s End

Heavenly Father, with the closing of this day, I ask for serenity. As the night sky displays its vast beauty, let my soul mirror its peacefulness. Help me to let go of the worries of the day and trust in Your loving care. May Your peace reign in my heart and home tonight. Amen.

Prayer for Restful Stillness

Dear God, in the stillness of this evening, I come to You seeking rest for my soul. Help me to lay down the burdens I’ve carried today and find comfort in Your arms. Grant me peace that passes understanding and a rest that restores my spirit. May my sleep be undisturbed and my dreams be sweet. Amen.

Nighttime Whisper for Peace

Creator of All, as I listen to the night’s gentle whisper, I ask for peace to settle over me. Let Your tranquility wash away the noise of the day. In this quiet hour, I lean on Your promise of peace, a heavenly balm to my weary soul. Keep me in perfect peace as I keep my mind stayed on You. Amen.

Prayer for Gentle Rest

Omnipotent and Gentle Lord, at the end of this day, I seek the gentle rest that You so lovingly provide. May my mind be at ease, my body relax, and my spirit find harmony. Help me to release every concern into Your capable hands and sleep in the assurance of Your protection and peace. Amen.
