Many parts of the Westworld series used Placerita Canyon [just off SR 14] for the western scenes. Used to hang out there.

I used to live in Bouquet Canyon, and also lived in Placerita Canyon (on Placerita Canyon Road, just down from the highway towards town).
Everyone and their mothers-in-law has filmed at Vasquez Rocks. Similarly, much has been filmed at The Huntington.
Since my dad built it, a surprising amount of film has been shot at the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant in the San Fernando Valley. They like the water gardens next to the futuristic administration building.

One memory I have from this worksite was my dad taking me along during one of his onsite walks. I was just gawking, ’cause I was a kid and didn’t understand much, but my dad was still on the job.

Late 80s. Osan AB, South Korea. Military air strips typically have roads near runways. Some around the entire runway. Seemingly always near taxi ways and hangers.
I assume the U-2 I saw had just left its hanger, heading out on a mission.

Our VQ-3 missions frequently made stopovers at Kadena. I saw an SR-71 take off once. As I recall, it was a fairly clear day with some distant high clouds. The SR-71 came down the runway, rotated to about 45 deg up, and held that angle until it disappeared as a tiny dot near the distant clouds. Nothing spectacular . . . all very routine . . . no doubt conserving fuel for the mission.

The attack, whether from whichever quarter, is using facts as their ammunition. It is hard to attribute duplicitous motives to those whose arguments are based on facts. The fact that the strategy of the Left would be to split the MAGA community, while against my interests, can hardly be unexpected. I am sure those who like to quote Sun Tzu would agree that attacking an enemies’ mistake is acceptable doctrine.
On another topic you address, I find that my position on a special prosecutor is similar to yours. That responsibility is, by job description, a function of the DOJ. I see punting the problem to a special prosecutor, not only expensive, but shirking the DOJ’s duty.

I have a strong suspicion that, at some point, or even more likely at multiple points, Epstein became somebody’s informant, very likely as a way to protect himself, and he was likely a double or triple asset, cheating every one of his masters whenever he needed.
Most of the people who are crying for Epstein’s client list (which was probably cataloged by CIA or FBI) do not have a good understanding of how bad this situation really was. Their emotions will not allow them to untangle the mess. Trump is way ahead of what is happening, IMO. He knows it’s an avoidable quagmire.

So I think he must be purposely pouring gasoline all over the Epstein thing, to create such a huge sh!tstorm, to get everyone’s attention (left, right and center), before revealing something.

Marco gained more power through the Economic Support Fund, and “permanent” was removed from “permanently rescinded,” now just “rescinded.”
Economic Support Fund cuts decreased by about $400 million (less money cut).
The Department of State (Marco) gained more power due to added language allowing the Secretary of State to waive rescissions for funds critical to U.S. national security. I believe they retained $400 million for this reason.
Seems to me that we should lock all these guys in a room and only feed them when they cut $1B. After a while, they’d get trained to cut three times a day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
And, mind you, I’m thinking of $1B in cuts on the President’s desk and ready for signature. They can cook the meal upwind of the chambers, but nobody is served until the package is on the desk.

Some good news to report around here. A family member works in the hospitality industry. ICE busts are well underway. Family member says the illegals are not aware or do not trust the self deport, collect $1000, apply for a worker visa opportunity to come back legally. They also believe having an anchor baby will allow them to stay.
If/when that later point is resolved in our favor at the SCOTUS level is when you will see even more of them headed south.
These are not just “criminal” busts, they are sweeps around here. Illegal is illegal – you are gone. Some are good workers who hope to fly under the radar or have business owner protection. Not happening. One local restaurant was completely shut down due to it last week in the middle of tourist season. SIL in LE, says they are holed up and not coming out of houses unless forced. He says some are self deporting or moving. Their official policy is to call ICE every time they determine somebody is here illegally as well as report observations that may lead to same.

Part of the problem that I’m going to toss on the table here is that interest rates are simple things with complicated ramifications. In particular, interest rates are very efficient ways of separating the reasonable from the moronic. Back in the “good old days”, many business decisions were evaluated using the “Internal Rate of Return” — even those associated with government. That has largely gone out the window since the Fed started to play fast and loose with interest rates as a device for manipulating the economy. ZIRP made every stupid, idiotic brain fart look like a scheme of geniuses.
But that is not to say that the way in will be the way out. Years and years of Fed abuse with low interest rates making dain-bramaged government initiatives like green energy and mass immigration look plausible might lead one to think that a solid round of high interest rates could slough off the malinvestment into the oblivion it deserves. That does, however, leave a bunch of government “full faith and credit” debt at risk. The current administration seems to be contemplating a different path.
Now, mind you, economic history suggests that there are only two ways of dealing with massive government debt — repudiation of the debt, or debasement of the currency. The current administration is full of scary-smart people who know this……but they all seem a bit giddy that this time might be different. Tariffs seem to be part of this.
And this leaves Powell standing alone. He’s not going to jam interest rates higher until the stupidity is squeezed out (see Volcker), and he’s not going to lower interest rates to give VSGPOTUSDJT some room to move……he’s going to maintain medium rates that will suck the life out of the Federal government like a vampire, until debt service causes the whole mess to collapse.
I’m as much a cynic as anyone on the national debt — and would hit the big, red “repudiate it all” button were I in charge…….but VSGPOTUSDJT is as tricky as they come, and I’m willing to see his scheme get a fair go.

As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

I have been thinking it seems the influences those who had access to Trump the WH are the worse right now concerning Epstein. They are dogs with an bone and not letting it go.

What is the reality of war fighting in the era of Drones?
I ran into these videos about drone attacks and production. The nature of war has changed dramatically in the era of drone warfare. Hiding in bunkers doesn’t work, nor does moving in vehicles. War from the air via cheap drones in huge numbers is what works now.

The Nature Of Drone Warfare
What is the reality of war fighting in the era of Drones?
I ran into these videos about drone attacks and production. The nature of war has changed dramatically in the era of drone warfare. Hiding in bunkers doesn’t work, nor does moving in vehicles. War from the air via cheap drones in huge numbers is what works now.
First off, a couple of terms defined:
FPV – First Person View. Drones where the operator sees through the camera on the drone, as also seen in the recorded video of the drone attack.
Overwatch – When there is someone (or now, some thing) assigned to keep surveillance on an operation, usually from above, for purposes of protecting the force and / or reporting on the success.
MIRV – Multiple Independently target-able Reentry Vehicle warhead.
ISR – Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The Wiki adds “target acquisition” but many others don’t state it, just imply it.
You may sometimes in some videos see what looks like CПH that is the abbreviation for Spetsnaz or Russiian Special Forces. Also what looks like TACC in a corner of a video is Cyrillic for TASS, the Russian news agency.
How Russia Uses Drones – their POV
This is a video with strong pro-Russia bias, but showing what Russia is doing with drone warfare. Key takeaways are:
The integrated use of low level fiber optic FPV attack drones with overwatch ISR drones at altitude.
The combined use of drones with precision artillery when an attack drone is unsuited to a target (no approach through dense trees or large area).
The precision of FPV attack drones – flying between nets and into small holes. ANY small hole is enough to get your hiding spot destroyed.
Using 1 drone to breach an obstruction (like a window) and a second to enter and destroy the structure.
Drones that sit on the ground near a road, watching but using minimal power, until a vehicle arrives – then takes to the air to destroy it. Essentially aerial “land mines” with intelligence at the other end of the fiber optic cable (that can be kilometers long).
ISR providing “no place to hide” eyes in the sky. Makes hiding in a building, hole in the ground (“bunkers”), armored vehicles, or even under nets, camouflage and trees a bit pointless.
Both daylight and infrared cameras – night is not cover.
“Fighting” is now being done person to person but at a distance. One drone operator vs a few or even a single opponent soldier.
Sometimes it is one drone against one Drone Radio Antenna (FPV control facilities) or one radar set.
Russian “mobility warfare” is more effective than Ukrainian “defensive warfare” in bunkers and trenches.
Units of Russian Infantry as low as 1 solder may have both overwatch and attack drones assisting him.
There’s more to observe, but you get the idea. IF you sit in a hole, a building, or a “defensive position” you get killed. IF you move, you get observed and either you or your vehicle or both get destroyed. The “Front line” can be many kilometers behind the line of contact of ground forces.
Artillery barrages have been replaced by precision artillery with drone based ISR and attack drones. As precise as targeting a single soldier.
Going after Production sites
This next video, somewhat less Russian Biased, covers how Russia is attacking Ukrainian native drone construction sites. Despite them being highly disbursed as cottage industry sites.
Note too the economic war aspect. A $Hundreds or $Thousands drone can force a choice between losing a valuable bit of infrastructure or launching a few $HUNDREDS_of_THOUSANDS missile interceptor rockets… Cheapest weapon wins.
Manufacture of weapons inside Ukraine is now off the table.
Russia is now going for Deep Strikes all across Ukraine to remove military production, infrastructure, storage, and transport facilities. I suspect this means they are entering the final take down of Ukraine phase. Any Western Military folks or materials inside Ukraine will be a target.
In conclusion
No place to hide. No place to manufacture. No place to store inventory or house troops (or even train them).
Air dominance now comes from $thousand drones, not $Millions or $Billions stealth aircraft. What use would a B2 Bomber be against a drone mob…
The Russians have achieved Air Dominance along with Escalation Dominance.
There is no way for Ukraine / NATO to win this war. At best, they can escalate it into W.W.III with both Europe and North America being bombed into the dark ages via Oreshnik and nuclear weapons. Our ability to “project force” via forward bases in Europe (and elsewhere) along with Carrier Battle Groups has been nullified by the MIRV Hypersonic Oreshnik. Going into a ground attrition war against Russia will end in disaster against their drone operations and artillery.

Not am MD, nor do I play one on TV. However, I have chronic venous insufficiency with my feet, which manifests as varicose veins. I go to a vascular surgeon for tests and consultations.
Per the suggestions of the vascular surgeon—I wear compression socks, drink lots of water, added more vegetables to the diet, cut way down on sugar, watch the salt intake, walk a lot every day, put the feet up for awhile in the afternoon. I had ultrasound tests on both legs and feet, no clots. The heart is in good shape, thank God.
My brother had some veins removed.
I understand that is excruciatingly painful.
No it’s not. Vascular surgery takes half an hour, unpleasant, yes, like going to the dentist. In by 8 am, home by 10 am

Welp. I’m at my folks to help them out for the weekend. Upon investigating this weird noise in the kitchen, I’ve found a bat in the vent of the range hood.
Not gonna lie, I taped the screen hoping to keep it secure until morning when I can call my brother to get over here and deal with it.

Gosh, I just saw a post about bats on FB. Can’t find it, but I did find a wikihow article with suggestions. I also saw that bats can eat up to 1,000 mosquitos in an hour so they are beneficial even though scary.
