When I was kid (many yrs ago), we moved into a house in MI.
My Dad did the finishing work on the house, and dug the septic and drilled for well water. Well he did everything on the cheap. That meant us kids helped dig the septic and leach lines.
He took the old Mercury sedan and put it up on blocks so he could use the drive wheel as the power for a pulley system to drive a big weight down onto the pipe we were driving into the ground.
Remember my mother was about ready to kill him because he never hit any water viens. We would take the old pickup down to the nearby lake and fill up 55 gallon drums of water to pour in the cistern he built in the garage so we’d have running water in the house.
Well anyway there was one old guy from the hills of Kentucky that lived nearby, and he came over and did the water witching with a forked branch from a willow tree.
Also have seen it and done with two L shaped pieces of coat hanger.

My father taught me that one.
The old coal miner surveying crews used the technique when scouting the terrain around the mines to detect water that might flood the shafts.They also used it to find where to drill wells for pumping water for the company towns.
At my home he took a small forked branch off of a beech tree, showed me how to hold it (lightly) and told me to walk across the yard. As soon as I approached the septic tank it moved and pointed down. I re-gripped and continued on. As soon as it came to the area of our utility district provided water line, it pointed down. It is uncanny how it works. i just know it does.
I learned water dowsing as a teen. It works, it is real.
I was taught by an old man in the South, using two willow twigs. He had me walk across his yard. Everywhere there was an irrigation line, the twigs crossed in my hands. True story.
My grandfather could dowse and so can I. I used a professional dowser to find out where to dig for our well in colorado. The water flow rates in our area were barely above 2 gpm. I borrowed the dowser’s brass rods and got the same location to dig as he did.
You measure a well flow rate by pumping out the well and then seeing how fast it replenishes itself. The flow rate in our well was so high, the testers couldn’t pump out the well.
I saw this demonstrated by a government utility guy who used it to precisely locate linear underground structures (pipes, sewers, storm drains, cables, etc.) down to +/- six inches. He finds it more reliable and precise than the electromagnetic devices that companies typically give to utility workers. The detection algorithm (looking for crossings) is actually similar to some OCR programs.
I view this as an open problem. I’m sure it works for a logical reason, and I have several theories as to how and why it works, but it appears to be more than what is noted in that USGS article (the fact that you’re pretty much going to hit water anywhere in an area that has water). That kind of thinking is dismissive, not investigative.
It should be possible to construct devices that can do this, before it’s fully understood. At the very least, the current electromagnetic devices could be improved by including a microgravitometric mode of some kind. Marry that capability with OCR-like crossing algorithms, looking for inflection points that somehow trigger a cascade, and it should be possible to put this in everybody’s hands someday, digitally, and without coat hangers! 😉

A key tied into a string can be used as a dowsing pendulum.
The practice of dowsing has been around for centuries.
Of course, dowsing is viewed by certain “official agencies” or “experts”, like the USGS, as sort of an “old wives’ tale.”
Part of the issue is that dowsing WILL NOT TELL “WHAT IS TO COME” (in other words, “fortune-telling.”) Dowsing will ONLY deal with WHAT IS. People who claim that dowsing will help them “find the future” are subverting the practice.
In addition to the town of Bremo Bluff, VA, having drinking water from a well that was dowsed by my late husband (after the “professional well driller” that the town hired came up with TWO dry wells), the Miller School (a private academy in Albemarle County, VA) had a new well dowsed by my husband that was very satisfactory.
It’s absolutely incredible that no one has figured out how or why this works.
It could lead to discoveries or uses much greater than finding water underground.

Spoke with a neighbor who is a local community college/tech school career counselor last week.
At least in our area the graduating high school kids may be smarter than their parents. She said it is off the charts the number of HS seniors who want to graduate early and go to tech schools or work on Associates degrees that lead directly into those type industries as well as law enforcement and fire departments. None want liberal arts or phoney baloney college educations. They do not want any school related debt. They are more than willing to apprentice into whatever they want to do. Forget the proms, extra curricular activities and graduation parties – they want to get on with life. She said that some literally hate the schools and what they had to put up with to get done and out of them.

WORSE is the coyote problem. About a decade ago, a neighbor took out a pack of FIFTY TWO coyotes using poison bait. Coyotes can easily carry rabies and they are found in urban areas as well as rural. An outbreak in the coyote population would be very very bad for children. (B-i-L’s friend had their daughter dragged off by a coyote just north of Boston MA.)

“I have to remind the audience of one thing. Everybody’s like, it’s seven months. What have you guys been doing? I’m asking you to look at the work the men and women of the FBI have done so far in these seven, eight months, and just imagine what we’re going to do come the year’s end.”
Unraveling the mysteries of Antifa
Patel said one area where the FBI has made rapid progress is the tracking of financing and command structures of anarchist groups like Antifa that have fomented unrest in American cities, attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents rounding up illegal immigrants and antisemitic movements on college campuses.
He said there are indications that some support may come from overseas enemies and U.S. nonprofit groups that have tax exemptions from the IRS.
“Look, the thing I can tell you is that money doesn’t lie, and the thing we’re doing at the FBI is following the money,” Patel explained. “And thanks to President Trump, we now have Antifa designated, rightfully so, as a domestic terror organization. And we have had multiple investigations going on.”
Patel said those probes are “mapping out the money, and we are using social media and the influencers that the President had here just this last week, because they’re the ones on the ground, getting us ground level intelligence, because law enforcement isn’t able to enter these spaces, and these people are brave enough to do it.”
Patel’s comments came as a federal grand jury on Wednesday night indicted two people allegedly tied to Antifa on terrorism charges for an attack in July on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Texas.
The two individuals, identified as Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts, were charged with providing material support for terrorism, attempting to murder federal and assisting officers and discharging firearms during attempted murders. You can read that indictment here: Antifa indictment
Entirely new program and division planned
That indictment undercut the argument made by many Democrats and even some journalists who have argued that Antifa is not a group, but rather just a mere ideology. Most notably, Keith Ellison, attorney general of Minnesota, recently said that “nobody even knows what it is,” but conservative pundits were quick to point to receipts, such as Powerlineblog.com, which published a photo of Ellison proudly holding a book in 2018 titled, “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook.”
Patel told Just the News that the effort tracking Antifa funding has become so important that “we’ve created an entire new program and division dedicated to rooting out the money that is funding these operations, whether it’s U.S. based or internationally.”
“Someone is paying for this. These are organized acts of violence, fully funded by people who don’t even live necessarily in these communities, showing up in the dozens with the same placards, the same helmets, the same riot gear. Someone’s paying for it, and we’re on the verge of finding that out next to these new authorities,” he added.
The FBI’s top boss detailed that these probes have found fascinating connections, including between traditional anarchist groups like Antifa and transgender activist groups that are incubating in places like social media platforms favored by gamers.
Patel: “Social media is wildly out of control”
“I think there’s going to be some crossover, for sure,” he said. “But what that raises in my mind is a problem that I’ve been trying to tackle for a long time: social media is wildly out of control. I mean our kids are allowed to go on these gaming platforms for fair purposes, gaming.”
“But then, unfortunately, you have the child predators that go on these gaming platforms. You have Antifa that goes on these gaming platforms and no one’s overseeing them, because our kids aren’t monitored while they’re on these platforms, and they’re taking advantage of lawful use of these mechanisms to make basically an anarchist system that wants to take down the United States government,” he said.
“And that’s why this threat is so real, and that’s why we in this White House and this administration are so fervently tackling it with every resource we have at the FBI,” he said.
Patel confirmed that he is similarly concerned that foreign enemies from Iran, China, Cuba and Venezuela may also be involved in creating a toxic brew of radicalization in this network. “I think they were, before President Trump sealed the border, they were coming in by the thousands, these criminals, and they were taking advantage of America and our resources that are supposed to be for our citizens who are lawfully here,” he said.”

Acting DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro reportedly confronted Jon Hooks, a longtime DOJ attorney and chief of a key unit in the office, last month for slow walking what she considered high-priority cases including an investigation into the Biden $20 billion money laundering “climate” scam right before the 2024 election; the doctoring of DC crime data; and Soros linked groups funding violent protests/domestic terrorism.
MSNBC: “The night after his confrontation with Pirro, Hooks gave notice that he would resign from the U.S. attorney’s office by the end of October, intending to stay on long enough to help hand off the reins and key cases to his replacement. But instead, days later, a Pirro deputy notified Hooks at a farewell party for fellow prosecutors in the D.C. office that he was being fired immediately,.” Sources tell me he was not allowed back into the building.
Given Hooks’ resume, it is very likely he was involved in the investigation into President Trump for the events of Jan 6. Hooks was one of JP Cooney’s deputies before he succeeded him as chief of the fraud, public corruption, and civil rights section.
Cooney helped lead the Trump J6 investigation at the DC US Attorney’s office; he also brought charges against Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro.
Hooks was promoted–presumably by then DC US Attorney Matt Graves–to succeed Cooney, who a few months later was detailed to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office.
What remains fascinating is how these “career” prosecutors never spoke up against the political prosecutions of Trump, his associates, and his voters on fake crimes but now REFUSE to proceed with pursuing charges for demonstrable crimes.

I just searched the web for information on the science behind dowsing. I only read a few articles, but they all basically said that dowsing was no better than random chance or it was a scam by the dowser. Here’s my earliest experience with dowsing.
When I was around 12 or 13, my mother mentioned that her father (from Denmark) could dowse. So, I went to a big, old apple tree we had in our back yard, and I cut a flexible, Y-shaped branch to use as a divining rod.
I went farther down our back yard to where there was a field before the woods started. As I walked down the field (basically East) I had no knowledge of where water might be. About halfway down the field, the rod started to point downward. As I continued to walk, the apple branch continued to point downward until it was pointing straight down.
I then chose another starting point farther to the North, and walked dow the field again. On this track, the apple stick pointed straight down again, but this time a bit sooner than on the first run. I repeated this process several more times with starting points that were farther to the north with the same result.
The points in the field made a straight line, with only a little variance. When I looked along this line to the southeast, I could see the neighbor’s artesean well. When I looked along the line to the northwest, I could see our other neighbor’s well. I figured that the multiple points in the field lay along the source of underground water for those wells.
I repeated that process many times for the next few years and got the same result. I even walked down the field several times with a blindfold on and got the same result.
I don’t think it’s a scam, and I don’t think it has anything to do with occult practices. In non-scientific terms, I suspect there is some energy field that we can’t normally sense.

The “force field”, in dowsing, is called the Universal Mind.

Dowsing IS NOT “FORTUNE-TELLING.”
Dowsing will ONLY tell WHAT IS.
So, for example, when dowsing for a wellsite, the dowser will ask questions of the Universal Mind (which will answer ONLY “Yes” or “No”) such as, “Is this the best place to drill the well?” Or, the Universal Mind will ONLY point to the correct direction of the thing being looked for, as in the dowser asking, “Please point in the direction of the nearest good water supply.”
My late husband taught scores of students how to dowse. He gave them each a pair of L-rods made from metal coat hangers and took them outside the classroom to learn. I can’t tell you how many dozens of metal coat hangers I helped him cut into L-rods for his students to learn with.
The thing about dowsing is that the person doing it MUST be asking questions in the correct way. Saying stuff like, “Will it rain tomorrow?” will get no answer from the dowsing implement used (L-rods, pendulum, etc.) The other thing is that the person dowsing MUST be in a “head-space” to accept that there IS a Universal Mind. People who are relentless and vocal skeptics (let alone downright “This is stupid”) about dowsing usually aren’t able to learn, let alone practice, this ancient form of finding water.
Although, Yours Truly has seen the faces of relentless and vocal skeptics about dowsing who then, after deciding to “try it just in order to show that it’s a scam” then SEE THE L-RODS IN THEIR HANDS POINT IN THE DIRECTION OF THE WATER PIPE THAT THEY’RE WALKING TOWARDS.
The town of Bremo Bluff, VA, may still be drinking water from the new “town well” that my late husband dowsed and found for them four decades ago. This was AFTER the town had hired a “professional well driller” who drilled TWO separate “dry wells” for the place, and Bremo Bluff got wind that my husband was a good dowser and hired him to find a producing water well.
I had not heard of the term “universal mind” in relation to it. It might be a matter of semantics.

It can also lead to trouble of various kinds, including lawsuits (which are not at issue in this case).
People don’t seem to be able to think empathetically about this. I doubt that most would want the world to be told they said something they didn’t say.

Since I don’t know the inner workings of federal jobs, much less those in the DOJ, I suspect there is more to the story. Demotion, rather than firing, might have avoided lawsuits that would have obstructed other things at the time. It’s possible the DOJ needed to gather evidence before firing, and demotion was what they could do in the meantime.

China’s recently announced export restrictions on rare earth highlighted, once again, the risks of dependency on China for these critical minerals. China is responsible for processing around 90 percent of rare earths despite the fact that rare earths can be found all around the world.
The key to Chinese dominance is that the state is willing to provide extraordinary support to its rare earth industry. This means that if a would-be competitor emerges, Chinese producers can sell rare earths at a loss for as long as necessary to bankrupt the rival. Chinese rare earths prices can stay irrationally predatory longer than any private sector business can stay solvent.
This doesn’t mean, however, that the rest of the world benefits from low prices. The credible threat of predatory dumping means that investors are unwilling to put money at risk with a competitor, which enables China to charge higher monopolist prices than they could in a genuinely competitive market. So, the rest of the world remains dependent on China without the benefit of lower prices.
This week the Trump administration floated the idea of a “price floor” for U.S. rare earths, where the government would step in to buy rare earths if the market price fell too far. The hope is that this would assuage fears of Chinese dumping, allowing U.S. production to attract investment. And the rare earths purchased by the U.S. government could provide the foundation for a strategic reserve of the minerals that could be used in a shortage.

Sounds good, but this is a long term investment scenario, which means if the criminals steal the next election, the next administration will just pull the plug to give chyna their advantage back, and the investors and companies who put up the money are left holding the bag.
