Doing those things in a state, especially a state with a Republican legislature, is not terribly difficult. All one has to do is have the thought to do it. And I believe it is entirely possible that the powers that be are whispering “do this” in DeSantis’ ear to convince people he would be a great President.
But would Putin listen to him, fear him, respect him? Would the Saudis stage a sword dance to flatter and honor him? Would he fearlessly step across the border into North Korea, having first labeled the leader he walked in with “Little Rocket Man?” For me, I highly, highly doubt it.
The President of the United States is not a governor-type job. Our President must be respected and feared on the WORLD stage. When he isn’t, well, we end up where we are right now. Or in Afghanistan and Iraq. Or Vietnam. You know the drill. I just hope the rest of America does. Wind Sock Ron would be a disaster as President. He is just another weak Repuke failure waiting to happen at that level. He doesn’t have the balls for the job.

For me, it’s not an emotional reaction to his style. It’s a visceral objection to what I feel is manipulation as I read. Regarding the piece we’re talking about here, you couldn’t find a better example of material that could be used in a demoralization campaign. It’s subtle enough that (I suppose) many don’t see it. But what that article leaves us with is that no one in our government, even the so-called good guys, has good motives, that they are all part of a money-making machine and are reporting their findings to us for that purpose only, and that none of it matters. He doesn’t state that last part outright, but that is the impression the article leaves.
Well, bummer. [Insert Eeyore here.] Nothing encouraging, nothing uplifting, no gratitude that finally someone is exposing the corruption (which would not be happening if Repubs did not have a House majority).
Most importantly, no analysis of what the revelation of the information that is coming out might have. Because, despite that fact that no law enforcement is going to do an early-morning raid on the JB family, it IS earth-shattering and IS having an effect on the political landscape, here and internationally. Phoenix – I’m going to say this as kindly as I can. I am not unemotional in our fight, but (whether it shows or not), I practice – when I choose to invoke it – complete control of my emotions. “Logical thinking”, as Q always advocated.
I can “go Spock” at any time I choose. And when I do, I can see other people’s emotional errors. This is extremely useful.
Take the Russia / Ukraine conflict. I choose this example because this is one of your most emotional topics.
It is incredibly useful to analyze materials related to it while being able to get past emotional attachments to one side or the other. I can call propaganda by either side exactly what it is – propaganda. People who can’t do that – who bristle at the mere calling of propaganda for what it is, when it is coming from “their” side – cannot see certain things. And I’m being very blunt in saying that many people on both “sides” can’t see certain things. They may be right about a subset of things, but IMO they cannot be correct about many things, that a purely logical position CAN be aware of.
I am utterly and completely aware of every criticism of Sundance that people make here. It’s not like I ignore their comments. EVERY comment that I “like”, has been READ and UNDERSTOOD, and usually agreed with, to some extent, from some perspective. I actually USE those thoughts and criticisms to carefully evaluate what Sundance says.
However – and it pains me to say this – I see SO MUCH uncontrolled emotion here, regarding Sundance, and I see it blinding people. Because of that emotion, I can see people “reacting badly” – ignoring things that favor their own viewpoints – or even more bizarrely, adopting positions that contradict their normal inclinations. And – as far as I can tell – it’s due to emotion.
I have also seen people (some of whom are no longer here) get very smart when they “got past” Sundance’s “triggering qualities”, and began to pay attention to his key points in spite of their feelings.
IMO, this is part of why Christ advocated forgiveness – to enable us to see more deeply into problems, where the enemy truly lies.
Sundance – like most of us – is a very flawed person. However, he does certain things well, if one digs past all the stuff that people criticize. I choose to dig past that stuff – just like I do with everybody who has an opinion.
Logical thinking helps me do that.
I’m not saying that anybody here has to be any less emotional, or more logical, than they are. I’m not even saying that they SHOULD be different in any way. Freedom means that people can be exactly the way they are, and nobody can legitimately tell them to change.
I’m just explaining why I see the importance in so much of what Sundance says, while utterly ignoring all the negatives that do exist for many people, and send those people into a rage.
I hope that explains why I’m neither “loyal” nor “disloyal” to Sundance.
I am in complete agreement. I go to SD’s site for information, not to ‘follow” him. Sometimes he is spot on with something I agree with or brings stuff I did not know about. Other times he sounds like a petulant child and will beat a dead horse into glue. He’s a guy with a keyboard and a following.
As an example I’m not particularly enthralled with his “silos” concept. It’s a cop out. Each alphabet and department knows what the others are doing. Some even share staff and operatives. All of the staff attorneys and IGs of each agency and department talk with each other because many of the duties overlap or otherwise connect. Many of the govt employees change jobs between departments frequently throughout their careers. They go to lunch ,dinner, parties ,etc. together. It’s a big club with smaller groups within the club performing functions that keep the club in power.
Been there, done that. He’s not going to sell me on the silos.
I disagree on the silos. On that, I am quite sure he is correct. It’s a turf war playing into the pissing contest concept. Basically, sand box level.

One example is the 2023-2024 Travel Catalog from National Geographic Expeditions.
The gist is that you go to places and use the National Geographic on-the-ground connections…..or can go full boat and have one of the National Geographic authors as your guide.
Mind you, I have my own connections to many of the places I might like to go. If I were going to Costa Rica, I might consult with Dr. Ron Coleman; if I were visiting the Zambian Coast of Lake Tanganyika, I’d want to coordinate with Ad Konings…..but NG has little trips to Costa Rica starting at $5,495 for nine days. This is far more reasonable than prior years.
Of course, they still do the prior year versions — e.g. “Cultural Wonders of Africa / A Journey by Private Jet” — 23 days starting at $99,995. How the blazes they tagged me as someone potentially willing and able to shell out a hundred grand for such a trek is a complete mystery. I don’t even subscribe to National Geographic anymore.
And, seriously, “Yosemite National Park / Private Expedition” — 7 days from $5,195? How can you possibly splurge over $700 per day in Yosemite? I have to suspect there is some toe-sucking involved…..

Recall that, last summer, the CDC began to exclude most foreign reports of COVID-19 “vaccine” adverse events from the VAERS database.
What shocks me is the phrase “heavily redacted”.
There is NO LEGITIMATE REASON that government health matters should be “heavily redacted”. IMO this is evidence of SECRET PROGRAMS – like BIOWEAPON CREATION and DEPOPULATION.

Yes, it appears that the emails in the FOIA request referenced above were “opaqued-out” with white squares and (b) markers.

The Interim Commissioner of the FDA in December, 2021, was Dr. Janet Woodcock.
The Director of the CDC in December, 2021, was Dr. Rochelle Walensky.
Wait a minute. The email of 7 December 2021 does have a faint (b)(5) marker on it.
(b)(5) redactions are ones that regard:
“Information that would be privileged in civil discovery, e.g. attorney client privilege or inter- or intra-agency documents that reveal deliberative process” (bolding mine)
