This is a demo of cognitive dissonance in action.

This is Jeranism, one of the Flerfs who went to Antarctica. He reports that the sun has not set, and furthermore that it sweeps right to left. He also noted that the sunspots are upside down in relation to what people back home (he’s Californian) are reporting.

(This is in part why I and many others are taking photographs of the Sun. I’m sending the full size files to The Final Experiment, Dave McKeegan, and McToon; posting them here is just a bonus. The other part is to show that the Sun does not change apparent size regardless of the time of day.)

He’s openly wondering how on Earth he’s going to reconcile this. He admits the AE map (the one they always show that looks like the UN logo) is toast. But he ranted about how much he hates the globe and the people who promote it.

He hasn’t quite gotten around to accepting that he is standing upside down with respect to his usual frame of reference–which would mean either he’s on a globe or he’s somehow walking around upside down on the underside of flat Earth. But by the physics they believe in, he’d simply fall off, head first, if that was where he was.

Another thing it proves is the great distance to the Sun.

If everyone sees the exact same thing without regard to where they are on Earth (other than rotation), you are not looking at either a close disk, nor a close sphere. It’s very distant in relation to the size of the Earth.

This is true whether the Earth is flat or spherical or donut shaped.

What shows the Earth is not flat is the different azimuth and elevation angles in different places on Earth at the same time. There are two explanations for that: the Sun is nearby and you’re dealing with parallax, or your horizon plane isn’t parallel to everyone else’s. But (see above), we’ve eliminated the first one already; and we’re stuck with a non-planar Earth. You then have to do the trigonometrical grunt work to establish what that shape would have to be in order to be consistent with the reported az-el angles and eventually find that the non-flat surface is a sphere.

Depending on who you talk to…the pizza world is either accelerating upward by 1G at all times (which means you wouldn’t stick to the underside) or “buoyancy” explains why heavy objects go down and light ones go up. I spent mine hiding from The Fiancee’s candy project. The highlight of my day today was cleaning rain gutters on the house. At times, I thought I was doing a Cirque du Soleil “unstable ladders” act.

Mine was a mixed bag. Hubby, 2 oldest son’s, & oldest son’s BIL were Supposed to have a hunting weekend, for muzzleloader season, for the weekend up at my dad’s hunting “cabin” in the Northwoods of MI. Well weather complications had them scratch the trip but Hubby hosted those guys at our place Saturday afternoon for the Steak Dinner he’d planned to provide Up North. The BIL went home but oldest son’s wife & 2 daughters then came over so we all hung out in the new basement “family room” Hubby put together a couple months back & watched A Christmas Story. Our oldest GD, 2 1/2 now, wanted to Immediately watch it again, having been intrigued by those boys LOL. They went home cause Mom & Dad had a party to go to (since son was now home instead of Up North he got roped into wifey’s plans LOL).

Anyway our middle son stayed over & we watched Another Christmas movie together in the less crowded “family room”. It was all a good time but we were pretty tired. Hubby was glad they’d cancelled their trip as he’d heard that the rain the blew in down here caused some bad icing conditions Up North. My dad had heard that there was anywhere from 1/2 to 2 feet of snow in Northern MI depending where you were.

My parents called late Sunday to tell me that Dad’s longtime, like 60 year, hunting buddy died yesterday. This friend had Really wanted my dad to take him Up North for one last hunting season just last month but it just wasn’t possible. My dad travelled to/from hunting camp w/ our middle son & stayed at the Hunting Shack w/ his longtime hunting buddy’s employee, who incidentally was the one to call my parents about this expected, though unfortunate, especially during the holidays, death.

This hunting buddy was given just months to live 2 years ago & rallied from his then supposed death bed to attend our son Josiah’s wedding. He had at least one autistic grandchild & the fact that our special needs son was able to get married give him great hope for his own challenged descendant. He was in the process of selling his business & they have properties in several states & even overseas as he was quite successful in his business ventures. His widow is quite infirm w/ Guianne Barre so the family is facing quite a lot of upheaval & challenges now that the dad is gone…

So anyway, a mixed bag weekend, joy, fellowship, great food, sorrow…kinda like life…

My uncle (the Marine) was given six months to live and managed to keep going for three years. I’m sure the disappointment of one less hunting trip was minor compared to two extra years of enjoying life. I hope the widow and family have good support through the coming period — I know of too many cases where predators have descended upon survivors in their time of weakness.

Their oldest daughter has been living with her parents & helping to take care of them for a while now so hopefully she’ll be able to protect her mom, who is still a very savvy woman, though physically depleted by years of that illness. My parents were going to visit the hunting buddy after Dad’s last hunting trip & hopefully share some photos & videos so that it would be a bit like his friend was there but then they came down with that junk running through the family for a few weeks now so postponed it until health returned, so now those adventures will just remain amongst those of us who are still this side of the veil 🙂

I’m glad your uncle was able to beat his diagnosis for so long. I was sharing FenBen & other protocols with the wife/widow & eldest daughter in hopes of them finding something that might help him live longer & better but I kind of doubt they dug into any of it. The wife/widow was an ER RN for many years so may have been too steeped in traditional approaches to be comfortable outside the chemo & radiation box he was fighting in, sigh.

His stamina was much diminished so he was no longer able to drive but he still got out on the water in his boat as long as someone was with him. He could drive the boat, at times, & even fish, but was too weak to reel any catches in without assistance. It sounds like he squeezed a lot out of life even up to the very end. He even was working at his business until a few months ago. He’ll be missed & it will be an adjustment for Dad…

I’m very glad that their daughter is in the picture. It is horrible to think that someone would take advantage in such a way, but there are those who specialize in doing so repeatedly.

It does sound like he made the most of every day here on this planet. While he didn’t get that one last trip, he had sixty years of fond memories to cherish.

As for your dad, maybe he could go and do that review with photos and videos in his friend’s study, to send extra memories past the veil behind his friend. Or maybe I’m just sentimental. At least your dad didn’t rush over there and give him the creeping crud to push him off faster.

I’m guessing that Dad will at least talk about that hunting trip w/ the employee, the widow, & the kids at the viewing. They were friends before the hunting Shack was part of the equation but that was the long-term glue now for many decades. The viewing is later this week so that hopefully leaves Christmas week “intact” in their future memories.

When my daughter was expecting their baby her due date was right around the time of my SIL’s mother’s death date. He kept praying that his baby wouldn’t be born on the anniversary of his mom’s death & God mercifully allowed the birth to be a day later. His mom’s death date coincides w/ my parents’ anniversary. I think it helps to have a bit of separation between holidays & painful days, but we don’t have choice in those matters, like so many things these too are in God’s hands.

IIRC, it was originally done as a radio program, then it was a book, then it was a BBC TV series, then it was another radio program, then it was a movie. Except for the characters and a vague outline, none of the versions exactly match. It doesn’t help that all versions consist of the main story with random interruptions.

So if you think of a specific character saying a specific thing at a specific time, it may be that character at another time in another version…..or someone else saying that thing at that time in yet another version, or it might not be said at all in a third alternative version.

It seems to be very tenacious, not entirely unlike the flat-earth nonsense which is being plenty exposed. And unlike the flat earth thing, the climate hoax has become cause for inconvenient, sometimes even dangerous, and always expensive, policies. FEMA has paid Strategic Security Corporation millions of dollars. Yet they let O’Keefe into the FEMA building without vetting him, and also his colleague who had no ID on her.

No one recognized O’Keefe or was familiar with his name.

The FEMA headquarters appears to be a self-protecting bureaucracy that is secretive and operating on a different plane than people who can see a need and implement ways to fulfill it. Watching the video, I saw a huge disconnect between people in the offices and the people who need help. Worst of all to me is that the office workers don’t seem to realize how inept and disconnected they appear. They say their people in the field have to be protected because there’s so much controversy about the relief effort. There’s a totally different vibe from when JD Vance or anyone who cares goes to the area. I think FEMA needs reform from top to bottom.

So, what did they come up with?

That’s it. Pretty much everything else the Feds do is unconstitutional. There’s nothing in there for research, for education, for health insurance, for massive landholdings, for deciding which drugs and treatments are useful, for banning light bulbs and automobiles, for secret police at home and empire-building overseas, for EVs and mileage diktats, for security for private concerns who could afford their own, for all the other things that have been “blessed” with Federal attention — because the smartest people in the US could foresee nearly 250 years ago that centralized idiots in Washington could completely screw these up.

Oh, and notice also another whole classification of laws that is not found in Article I, Section 8 — it’s found in the Second Amendment.

The US won its independence using cannons borrowed from private citizens. There should be no Federal restrictions on arms owned by private citizens, so as to have them ready for the next fight for Liberty.

Further, most modern firearms are based on the work of one John Moses Browning — who invented and built them in his private shop at his home in Utah. During the Revolutionary War, many regions were well-known for the skill of their local gunsmiths in local styles.

Restrictions on ownership, transfer, creation, modification, and capabilities of weapons are antithetical to the founding of our nation — because those who earned their Liberty by force of arms within living memory wanted no part of shoving that genie back into a bottle.

haha…hope hubby enjoyed it.

the dogs were just like spoiled children…sigh. they didn’t understand the difference between their house and ours so there was a learning curve. But they are snugglers–and they’re boxers–so not exactly lap dogs, but they act like it. hubby and i were sitting on the love seat and the younger one inserted herself between us –half sitting on me, half on hubby and fell asleep.
then the older one got jealous and tried to ALSO get on the loveseat with us and that just wasn’t happening…lol
most of the time they were well behaved.
thankfully it’s only once a year…lol

Wow. I try to keep dogs on the floor but ours sneaks onto “my” seat on the couch, where I usually use the laptop, when I’m sleeping. I can tell she’s done it by how she cowers & acts guilty when I come around. When our youngest son is here he often pulls the mattress off his bed & puts it on the floor & the dog sleeps there with him during the night & naps there during the day if he leaves his door open. Our middle son is our dog’s favorite person on the planet so if he’s over she goes crazy. When he lived here he used to fall asleep on her dog bed with her sometimes curled up facing her butt–I mean yikes! LOL
