I know this is somewhat tangential and coincidental (letter Q has relating linguistic and cultural meanings), but those familiar with the early history of the internet (things like Bitnet and other computer networks) may also be familiar with another converging medium which came from the television world – QUBE – an interactive television experiment. Although it ultimately died out just as it was hitting the big time, QUBE demonstrated that there was some kind of viability to interactive systems, and served as a precedent for things we have today.
