Discernment 101: Weak Acids, Strong Acids, and the Kind They Are Taking In Portland

I almost cannot believe that I am writing this.

Forty years ago, I would have been writing this as a letter to the editor of my favorite science association magazine, AFTER the president of that association would have ALREADY said something similar PUBLICLY to the President of the United States, BUT – well – times have changed, and the heads of science associations don’t say things about leftist groups that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer don’t approve first.

So today WE THE PEOPLE talk about one of my favorite sciences – CHEMISTRY.

Let’s talk about relative dangers – what is hype and what is not hype.

Remember the “Deplor-a-Ball” after the Trump inauguration, when those DNC-Creamer-Antifa types (whoever) were going to use BUTYRIC ACID to attack the ball?

It’s time for some BRUTAL honesty for the sake of DISCERNMENT.

People on our side made a big deal about butyric acid being “corrosive” at the time, but the truth is, butyric acid is a weaker acid than acetic acid, the main stuff of VINEGAR. Pure acetic acid is not bad stuff – one could actually wash their hands with it, as long as they washed their hands thoroughly afterwards with water. Acetic acid, like butyric acid, is a WEAK ACID.

Weak acids give you TIME – maybe even INFINITE TIME – to wash them off. If they’re going into your STOMACH, where it’s already even MORE acidic, it’s not even a big deal.

That is why we put acetic acid – whoops, I mean vinegar – on our salads. We enjoy the MILD SENSATION of its WEAK ACID NATURE on our TONGUES. On our MUCOUS MEMBRANES.

Are you starting to see this?

Even when acetic acid is BAD, like when you cough a bit from inhaling some salad dressing, or when we use acetic acid to make cute little lab animals COUGH (but not too badly!) in tests of COUGH SUPPRESSION, it just ain’t that bad.

By the way, they teach this stuff in universities. Or at least, they used to.

Butyric acid, like acetic acid, simply isn’t that bad. It STINKS really, really, really badly, and THAT is what the evil Democrats were going to do – STINK UP that fancy party of uber-hip, good-to-be-bad, Trump supporters.

That’s it. It was a STINK ATTACK. But many on our side tried to make it sound worse than it was, because they could, because the LOSERS and HATERS had basically made a really dumb error in using a stinky stuff with the name ACID in it. The Democrats didn’t respect the POWER of psychology and information over actual chemistry.

Yeah, I know the feeling – the Dems who plotted that attack are indeed evil punks who deserve to go to jail – but it was still just a STINK ATTACK – not a corrosive attack. Even if Democrats had thrown that stuff on people, it would have been like throwing a mixture of RANCID BUTTER AND VINEGAR.

Yes, it probably says “corrosive” and “danger” on the label. Today, everything is OVER-LABELED, and we don’t have much DISCERNMENT of true chemical dangers. Everything is deadly in California for a reason – so that nobody has discernment. They WANT people to be like babies, utterly dependent on “experts” like me.

BUT NOW FOR SOME DISCERNMENT. Now for something discernibly different.

Fast forward to ANTIFA, and their threats to throw water balloons filled with “muriatic acid and wax” at conservatives. THAT, my friends, is a whole nuther beast. THAT is where CHEMICAL DISCERNMENT comes in.

Muriatic acid is – as you can see here – as much as 28% hydrochloric acid.

28% Hydrochloric acid is, for lack of a better term, concentrated hydrochloric acid.

People quibble over concentrations here, but it is frigging MEANINGLESS. As I will explain.

Higher concentrations up to just over 40% are chemically possible, but the evaporation rate is then so high that storage and handling require extra precautions, such as pressurization and cooling. Even the toilet bowl cleaners based on HCl are shocking to me in their strength, and they are nowhere near 28% – more like 5-10%. I have ordered my wife NOT to buy those things. We had to air out the house the last time she used one. I smelled HCl everywhere and I did a MAJOR “WTF”.

I’m not saying this isn’t a damn good product. What I’m saying is that people need to be damn careful with it, and – well – my dear wife needs a more carefree product, let’s just say.

Note that the PRINCIPLE here is the same as what ANTIFA is doing with added “wax”. The “gel” is a way to make it STICK. They’re just talking about even stronger acids.

Trust me, these differences in high (>5%) concentrations only mean a few seconds MORE or LESS before it does the SAME NASTY STUFF TO YOUR BODY. These are all STRONG CONCENTRATIONS OF THE SAME ACID – a substance known as hydrogen chloride.

If we are brutally honest, then the reason that they CALL the commercial, industrial-grade stuff “muriatic acid” – an older name that NOBODY uses in the laboratory any more – is simply because it DOESN’T SOUND AS BAD.

Oh, they’ll give you some industry jargon history blah-blah-blah excuse, and technically it will be true, but FUCKIN’ A THIS SHIT IS JUST CONCENTRATED HYDROCHLORIC ACID.

AND CON HCL IS BAD SHIT.

I know this sounds harsh, but I personally think that police need to SHOOT anybody throwing balloons, once strong acid has been identified. They need to END THE THROWING IMMEDIATELY.

Here is why I feel this way.

I have DEALT with both butyric acid and muriatic/hydrochloric/whatever acid. I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

Hydrochloric is one of the ones they WARN PEOPLE ABOUT in the lab. Nobody warns you about butyric acid, even if you can find a bottle.

In contrast, chemistry students in laboratory are going to use concentrated HCl a LOT, and they need to respect it. Nothing will FREAK OUT a chemistry department head faster than hearing that some freshman spilled concentrated hydrochloric acid all over themselves.

The first thing that will be asked is HOW FAST the stuff was washed off. SECONDS COUNT.

Imagine a pint of the stuff in THE FACE.

Hydrochloric acid can blind, or if inhaled deeply as a liquid, mist, or concentrated vapors, KILL. A strike in the face, like Andy Ngo of Quillette got with the concrete “milkshake”, would likely blind or kill him, if it was con HCl instead of concrete.

He would have been in WAY worse shape than what you see below.

That, my friends, is the result of NORMAL weaponry. ROCKS, basically.

HCl in the hands of ANTIFA is a CHEMICAL WEAPON.

When we are in the laboratory, we ventilate butyric acid for STENCH, but we ventilate hydrochloric acid for DANGER.

Inhale a little bit of water, and you are on the ground coughing. Inhale concentrated hydrochloric acid, and your lungs are burned from the inside.

Are you starting to see why I am basically thinking the feds need to send in the troops and restore order to the whole bloody left coast? This stuff is ridiculous. This isn’t America. This is the frigging Russian Revolution.

It’s literally INSANE.

I think I’ve gotten every kind of concentrated acid on me. Every one of the “strong acids” is horrible in its own way. Sulfuric burns through clothing and skin, but it’s slow. Nitric is faster and oxidizing and does interesting things to clothing, but it’s not super-volatile. You can get a fuming version of either sulfuric or nitric acid. Those are a bit nastier. Nice, fresh, highly concentrated hydrochloric acid fumes on its own, just a bit, and the fumes have a very seductively pure but deadly look, kinda like the railroad crash above. Hydrochloric is the most like a chemical weapon. It’s volatile, searing, fast, and strong.

The idea that these ANTIFA people want to make it even worse – more like napalm on human skin by adding the wax – that is just sick. It’s like our “yippies” went from protesting ABOUT napalm to MAKING IT.

I’m pretty sure that ANTIFA is Robert Creamer’s work, because he said he likes to use mental patients, and these people sure seem like mental patients to me. They are – quite literally – criminally insane, thanks to PC and antisocial socialist brainwashing.

Antifa has gone too far with hydrochloric acid. In my opinion the plotters need to be arrested now, or the police need to use DEADLY FORCE once these people start throwing concentrated strong acid.

Have we ever had people like this in America before? Certainly not that I can remember. This is UNAMERICAN. What is WRONG with Oregon? What is WRONG with their governor? What is WRONG with Portland? What is WRONG with their mayor?

Are they taking LYSERGIC ACID DIETHYLAMIDE – a.k.a. LSD – a.k.a. “acid”? (Which is not even an “acid” at all, by the way.)

Or does PC actually have the power to make people mentally unbalanced?

Sharpening Our Discerning Sunday

The beauty of our design is that we are created to maximize our effectiveness in the context of meaningful relationships. This is especially important to remember in the community of faith. And in the community of Patriots.
In the hurricane of this communications battle we find ourselves in today, we need all of us working together in order to accurately discern what is important and map out strategies for getting to where we are going.
In the passage above, quoted from Luke 9, the Samaritans thought Jesus was their enemy because he seemed to be heading to Jerusalem. The disciples thought the Samaritans were their enemy because they rejected them. Neither were discerning what was afoot.
Being good students of the Torah, the disciples were ready to reenact an old testament prophet’s great moment of fame. Calling FIRE down on these filthy Samaritans!
Jesus has to rebuke his men. While I might not be able from the text to give a specific name to the spirit they were being deceived by, I’m pretty confident that we are dealing with the same spirit in spades right now. And we had better do both a head check and a heart check so that the Lord does not have rebuke us.
Discernment. We don’t have much of it. Those who are isolated from community are in the greatest danger of having our malicious enemy twist their perceptions of reality.
We MUST work together to grow the best possible perceptions of reality.

Why do you think free speech is under attack? Could it be that the open marketplace of ideas is an existential threat to those throwing up smoke and mirrors around their work of dismantling all that we hold near and dear. I think it is.
A newer term for what Wolf’s Q Treehouse operates in every day is “crowd-sourcing.” That is to say, a group of people with a common interest all contribute their viewpoint, observations, even work-products to build something bigger than themselves.
Each person has the potential to make a unique contribution to our emerging understanding.
This undoubtably poses a threat to those who want us in a fog of war. We can expect to see various “spirits” rise up and attempt to throw sand in the machinery. A spirit of offense here, a spirit of division there. Maybe even some deceiving spirits distracting our focus in the middle of a discussion that is about to unlock wisdom we truly need for this next season.
This calls for more discernment. May I suggest for those of us that walk with Jesus to ask him for a discerning heart and a willing mind to see with his eyes and think his thoughts about the world we find ourselves in?

Lynch Mobs – Modern Version

 
I’m having a hard time with the new lynch mobs. Doesn’t feel right. This looks all too familiar to me. How do you feel about the new model of “lynch mob” for 2019-2020 election season?
Note: The original term, “lynch” was a tool of the American Revolution. Charles and William Lynch were Virginia Quakers. Lynching became popular to HANG British Tories who mistreated blacks in America. In 1782, Charles wrote, he had administered “Lynch’s Law” against “British loyalists, who dealt with negroes.” in a malicious and foul manner. Hey, my family moved to Mississippi in the early 60’s. My grandfather, a local exec, personally stood at the precipice and stopped the old-fashioned version of a lynch mob (story for another day). Even today, here, no, we don’t like lynch mobs. We’re cautious when emotions run hot. Those with a little bit of common sense and the perspective of history understand what happens when a lynch mob spins out of control. ALL people suffer when the rule of law is cast aside.
Of course, the Black community does not like lynch mobs, with due cause, but neither do the white/Hispanic/Asian/Gay/ZEE communities. We can imagine the Chinese/Arab/Euro/Brazilian, etc. communities also hate lynch mobs. In fact, any civilized society should recoil at the possibility of adjudication via a lynch mob. It’s why we have legal systems. Right? We all claim to be rational and compassionate people. Right? We’re civilized, educated, and we’ve evolved.
Okay, so who DOES like lynch mobs? Answer = The new Democrat party LOVES the new version of a lynch mob.
The Obama Administration brought back the lynch mob and updated the idea. No tree and rope but similar results….. silence the opposition…… suppress and keep people “in line” with new norms (THEIR NORMS) sold as a modern version of Jim Crow laws…… eventually a few people will die……. innocent people….. but that’s okay…. it’s all for the cause. And do it all while shouting for “Justice”. It plays with your mind, doesn’t it? It’s the “new lynch mob”, the bright and shiny version, the community organizer version. They advocated publicly and quietly, for the public to “act”, embraced and mentored people like DeRay McKesson in the old Eisenhower Office Bldg, beginning in February of 2011. Well financed, too, by friendly NGO’s. No need to wait for proper adjudication in a civilized society. It started with Trayvon Martin and exploded in Ferguson, Baltimore, and NYC for the Eric Garner case.
The media immediately jumped on board, sometimes staging interviews with their own crew members as “concerned citizens”, and pushed dramatic shots of violence. Hey, anarchy is great for ratings. In this way, news outlets openly advocated for more lynch mobs….. pushing….. anarchy. CNN didn’t report “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” was a lie until at least a year after they knew it wasn’t true.

Police officers were assassinated. People who were innocent. How is the new version different than a old-fashioned lynch mob? Remember the Dallas Five? Remember the two NYPD officers, Ramos and Liu, an Hispanic and an Asian, who were executed as revenge for Mike Brown and Eric Garner. The perpetrator, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, drove all the way from Baltimore to kill police officers…….. and Brinsley was wrong about his facts. Brinsley was the leader of a new form of lynch mob. Hard to imagine any Dem leader would openly advocate for the killing of innocent police or anyone else…… That wouldn’t make sense. Yet, that’s what happens when a lynch mob gets out of control ……. that’s where we are…… that’s what happened. The “leader’s” hands stay clean but the goal is accomplished = intimidation.
The public cannot possibly know the all the details of each case to make sound judgement. We’re not experts in forensics, cross examination, and we don’t have access to the files. It’s why all countries have courts. The new lynch mob was wrong in the case of Trayvon, Ferguson, and Baltimore. So, why did we burn down the towns, trash local businesses, and loot a CVS which was needed in the community? The lynch mob ruined the reputations of innocent people. Yes, they did. Is it okay to falsely persecute the innocent? Apparently the Democrats think it’s a good idea. They are quietly and openly advocating for the new lynch mobs, demand immediate satisfaction regardless of facts, ignoring our process of adjudication, our legal system, in favor of…… anarchy?
Who does anarchy help? Answer = those who want to gain or maintain power. The people are being used in pursuit of power by a handful of “leaders” who maintain clean hands. We’re being used.
Yet, here’s the kicker, the really concerning part. We now have Presidential candidates openly advocating for new lynch mobs.
Swallwell
Take a look at what Eric Swalwell did last night. He’s a Presidential candidate, a vocal Congressman from California. Swalwell called for breaking the law, persecuting an innocent person, “You’re the Mayor, you should fire the (Police) Chief”. He did it. Swalwell eagerly stepped into the role of leader of a new lynch mob for political gain. ( Link )
Pete Buttigieg is the Mayor of South Bend. A black man was shot by a white police officer, which has led to an investigation. Buttigieg quickly faced “concerned citizens” in South Bend, who formed a new lynch mob, demanding satisfaction immediately……. ignoring the formal process of adjudication. In effect, they have NO time to wait for necessary facts, interviews, lawyers or juries, because the lynch mob wants an answer NOW. Do you suppose the concerned citizens of South Bend see themselves as a new lynch mob? It’s what they are. They’re not peacefully protesting or inquiring about the details of the case, …… they’re loud and threatening. Big difference.
At the Dem debate last night, Swalwell carried the flag as leader of the lynch mob and attacked Buttiieg for political purposes. Incredibly deviant behavior to attack an opponent, using the death of another man, while ignorant of the facts…… but Swalwell did it……. because Swalwell has no ethics, no integrity…… and Swalwell made a conscious decision that it was more advantageous for HIM to score a political point on a national stage…….. than respect the honor of a dead black man……
Oh my, how far the Dem party has fallen.
Swalwell demanded Buttigieg to fire the police chief…….. with no clear cause…… which would be illegal on its face. Again the lynch mob chooses to punish an innocent person, and certainly delay or obstruct the actual fact finding in the case. Swalwell didn’t care. He’s the leader of the lynch mob. Does anyone think Swalwell actually cares about a dead black man in South Bend? Nah…..
His name was Eric Logan and he was 53yrs old. I care, but I am a Republican. My small voice doesn’t matter to the media because I’m supposed to be racist. Yet, I will closely follow the legal case to see what happens. I respect the rule of law.
It’s interesting to note how the new lynch mobs of today have grown and morphed. In retrospect, take a look at the Kavanaugh hearing. A nominee for the highest court in our land was smeared with wild accusations and no proof. These were baseless charges. Later on, we learned most of the charges were completely false. Other accusations were unprovable. Kavanaugh was cleared  —– exonerated. Yet, Michael Avenatti led the charge and the media pushed the smear. MOAR lynch mobs! The lynch mob believed the smears and pounded on the door of our Supreme Court, demanding satisfaction. They were wrong, yet the irony is not lost. We were nominating a high judge……. and anarchy was the answer from our political opposition. Meaning, there was no legitimate argument to oppose Kavanaugh’s nomination. Again, the people were used to deliver power to a very few…… the Dems.
The tech revolution has also helped the lynch mobs of today. Now, we can have a virtual lynch mob. At the drop of a hat, 10K phone calls can be placed to an arbitrary CEO……. ensuring corporate America bends a knee and bows to the new lynch mob.
College students love the new lynch mob. It’s a perfect way to persecute professors at Evergreen College or other students, speakers, with whom they disagree. College Activists have developed their own Jim Crow laws…. you can only speak if you agree with the narrative. How is this different than the effort to keep southern blacks “in line” during the 1950’s? Looks eerily familiar to me.

Lynch mobs have been used throughout history to stoke fear, snowball the worst of human emotions, and the patterns are almost identical. Think of the women burned as witches in Salem, the Spanish Inquisition, Jews and gypsies in WW2, etc. I’m a redhead and many of my ancestors were burned at the stake for an irrational fear of their hair color….. is that so much different than an irrational fear of skin color? The Ox Bow Incident? The similarities to what the Dems are doing today, the patterns of irrational behavior and disregard for law, are striking to me, a common citizen.
Tell me again, who does this benefit? Oh yeah, those who seek power or who desire to maintain power. The ignorant public, consumed by emotion, driven by fear, provides the means to their end. And it always hurts the people the most.
When cooler heads prevail, the truth is, most of us prefer………

Why Liberals Are So Angry

Ahhhhh Conan. One of the most oft-repeated movie clips of all time.

But it begs the question…if we got to ask Conan what the next best thing in life is, what would he say?

Well, he might tell us that it’s triggering easily upset liberal snowflakes. After all, it’s devilishly fun, isn’t it?

For one thing, it take so little effort.

Moreover, POTUS has turned the trolling of liberal reactionaries into a national past-time! In fact, he is such a master of it that just his name ALONE reaps devastation amongst the sheeple of the left…

The amazing thing is, it’s been YEARS now and this still works! Which begs a lot of questions, like…

Why are “progressives” so angry?

Well, if you look past their stupidity, their gullibility, their lack of self-awareness, the hypocrisy of their fake outrage, and the make-up of what constitutes their minds, there IS an answer. And here it is….

They are politically, economically, and socially losing the war they are imposing on America and the rest of the world….and while they can’t “see” it, they do SENSE it at an animal level (which is their norm, btw)…

….and sensing it (but not understanding it) is precisely why they are increasingly afraid and angry. Like this little guy right here…only worse…

What you have to understand is the “arc of history” and how liberals “see” it vs. how normal people see it.

And to do that, we have to go all the way back to when today’s liberal leadership were in their formative years…

…which is to say the 60’s…and the Vietnam war era.

They and members of their leftist-minded, Marx-loving generation decided that THEY were the “enlightened” ones in America who would “lead” America into an “enlighten” (aka “woke”) future…

….whether America liked it or not.

This…the ‘60’s….is the time things began to change for the radical worse. Jimmy Carter was supposed to kick things off with a progressive bang, but all he managed to do is lead America into despair and despondency following the Vietnam war (which was started and escalated by democrats, btw).

Then Reagan was elected, turned the economy around, gave America hope for our future, delivered the final coup de gras to the Soviet Union, and became a national icon in the process…the first of MANY things that enraged the entitlement-minded left.

From here, dear reader, you know who was President and when, so let’s cut to the chase.

Ever since the 60’s….and ESPECIALLY after the Clinton hippies won the WH, the entitlement-minded left has believed that THEY were on the “right side of history” because of the “Vietnam protests” and the outcome there. Remember, they have always believed they were the SMAHT ones.

Thereafter, EACH GOP President was a “mistake” that needed correcting.

And after the Clintons, well THEN Bush “STOLE” the election from Al Gore, and he went to war. And this proved very key, because…

Bush 43 and the Iraq war ALLOWED THE LEFTIST HIPPIES TO RELIVE AND RE-CELEBRATE THEIR ANTI-WAR YOUTH. And it allowed the youth of the left to ideologically BRAND (and count) themselves as members of that tribe. Remember the comparisons? The daily news cast “body counts”?? The street protests? 2004-2007 was like the 60’s all over again.

Once again, liberals were “on the right side of history”. Then came Obummer and all of his corruption, and liberals felt they were back on track.

Ahhhhhhh, the Oblahblah years….the smooth-talking fake imposter formerly known as Barry Soetoro….

By the time this jackass (above) got elected, the entire liberal media had given up any pretense to objectivity. Their collective hatred for Bush 43 knew no bounds, and in the wake of that fiasco of an administration and the subsequent ascension of this POS, the leftist media LITERALLY worshipped this come-from-out-of-no-where Chicago marxist.

Now, I’m not gonna delve into all the things that were wrong about this commie-Muslim sock puppet, but I DO want to harken back to a reply I made to the Wolf yesterday in recounting the US electoral history from the time this America-hating poser was elected. QUOTE…

So when President Trump defeated Hillary…when they hadn’t even considered the possibility, not for even a MOMENT….

…..they went completely berserk. Insane. Unhinged!

Having been played for the stupid fools they are, they are now fully invested and cannot stop themselves from going over the electoral cliff. Their anger….which in part should rightfully be directed at their own media….(for, among other things, not pumping the brakes and setting some realistic expectations….ie. That Trump could win)…..and also themselves for being WHO they are (which is to say, total idiot FREAKS)…is instead directed at normal, sane America.

Remember….they are NOW saying Trump SUPPORTERS are what’s wrong with America!

If I’m right…..and I can assure you I am (…you know this yourself, dear reader, as you could very easily have written this had you set yourself down to do it….)…then POTUS’ re-election is all but assured.

Why?

Hey, I don’t have time to show you right now how the liberal media has lost most of it’s credibility and no one who matters is listening to them anymore. And the economy. And jobs. And unemployment rates. And global trade resets that will stretch out the US economic expansion until well after the 2020 cycle. And etc. And etc. etc. etc. etc etc ad naseum.

So for anyone who was wondering why today’s leftists are so angry and unhinged, the answer is 3 generations of them are seeing a lifetime of belief and hope crushed before their very eyes.

All that work, sacrifice, and effort is getting turned around and defeated. They suspect…but don’t realize…they have bought into an “arc of history” that is total bullshit…one which is unraveling for them as you read this. (Oh yeah….and they know that if AG Barr is for real…and he is….then most of their party leadership is headed for prison, and their national election hopes go into the shitter for a very, very long time right along with them.)

If they applauded when Obama went on his world tour apologizing for America…and they damn sure did…. then it’s easy to understand why they would be enraged by a genius who is Making America Great Again, crushing the leftist hopes of at least 4 decades +.
