Well I have some disappointing news, my dad has decided to Not pursue alternative treatments for his conditions (Esophageal Cancer & some type of Dementia w/ Sundowners). He wanted to call me yesterday to let me know & there was a speaker phone conversation w/ Bro & SIL w/ whom Dad has been living since Easter weekend.
I’m sad about this choice & contemplating trying to see if there is a healthcare provider that can practice in MI, even if by video call, who could provide a “second opinion” on the topic but I’m not sure if this could be taken as a form of disrespect for Dad’s decision.
Bro & SIL said that Dad’s primary care doc, who prescribed the Trazodone & Zoloft, & the Oncologist, have not responded to My Chart requests for further info, prescriptions, like for PT & his gout (they took him to Urgent Care last week when he couldn’t put weight on one foot due to gout pain) & seem to perhaps have “washed their hands” of Dad’s case since both of them suggested looking into Hospice.
Home Hospice did do a visit in Bro’s house & that seemed to go pretty well. It sounds like they (Dad, Bro, & SIL) are strongly leaning toward this Home Hospice approach but it’s not fully decided yet. Whatever diagnosis is the one that gets hospice approval will then no longer be able to get treatment but other conditions could apparently still be addressed. They might be leaning toward using the “Dementia” diagnosis so that Dad’s Eliquis can continue (he’s supposed to take it for the rest of his life, in part because of the Aortic Valve Replacement). Apparently the neurologist we saw only said “dementia” verbally & didn’t put it in writing. She ordered the MRI w/ & w/out contrast to delineate brain structures to get more diagnostic specificity but Dad decided to cancel further testing so maybe she too now won’t be available to provide further assistance…sigh…
My Daughter, GD, & I are planning to go out to visit Dad at Bro’s house later today so Maybe I can get a better feel for things during our time together.
I think that Dad or Bro/SIL may have mentioned the possibility of the alternative cancer treatment to the Urgent Care doc & that person pooh-poohed it. That reaction seems to be an expected response from someone locked into traditional medicine/Big pHarma 🙁 My dad has always been a sort of follow the rules kind of guy so it sounds like he more or less is going to defer to that other doc & not pursue treatment/cure alternatively…sigh…he even said something like “I need to keep my word”…hmmm

These are things to wrestle with in the daytime when he’s not too fatigued. The “dementia” is a very broad brush term, which is why the neurologist wanted him to get the MRI to help differentiate his condition.

I’m sorry all of this is happening Valerie.
I can understand why people might hesitate to try various experimental treatments, especially people who may not have the physical or psychological stamina to deal with strong side effects, like those which are often associated with chemo.
But I have wondered, especially since Ivermectin (and presumably Fen-Ben, which I know less about) has practically no negative side effects, and few if any interaction problems with other medications, and with such a wide safe range in dosage, why not try it?
It’s not expensive, and unlike chemo there is no stress on the body. There appears to be no downside to trying, only potential upside.
It’s almost like that’s the biggest threat to the medical industry, i.e., that there is no downside, so if it does work, they’re going to look stupid and/or cruel for not knowing about or prescribing the treatment.
Like the doctors don’t want to take the chance that it might work, because if it does, it will make them look bad. Or because if it works, they will have to deal with the consequences of discovering that it may have helped hundreds or even thousands of their previous patients.
Well guess what Doc, my family member’s survival is more important to me than your ego.
We know doctors have plenty of skepticism, what happened to their curiosity?
If there is no down side, then why not try it, even if it is just to satisfy the patient and/or family members, so they don’t have to wonder whether they didn’t try everything (within reason) that they could?
Even if doctors had evidence that it was completely unviable as a treatment, so long as it costs practically nothing and does no harm, why would any compassionate doctor try to prevent it? If the patient believes it could work, it might, even if it was just due to the placebo effect.
Far stranger things have happened.
So as long as there is no serious risk of harm, no risk of complications, no pain, no stress on the body system, no risk of making anything worse — and at the very least, a hypothetical potential that it may have a beneficial effect — why not give it a try?
What do you have to lose?
What is the rational, logical response to that question, which could withstand credible scrutiny?

Val – Wifey and i have taken IVM/Mebendazole from TWC for a parasite cleanse with zero side effects. Have an order with them in for this year as well. The dosage would probably need to be doubled to be effective for the cancer. But it clearly removes the parasites from the body as evidenced by what comes out. With all of the studies and testimonies of folks who have used it I fail to follow why anybody would object since our nation has a “right to try” EO in place. Why trust the traditional medical community who have failed to deliver healing?

My mom was in that position and if i had the opportunity to discuss alternate treatments with her, i would. but she passes over “what she has” and doesn’t want to talk to about it. Didn’t you say your Dad is 89? That’s a long life. I hope he’s had a good one.
In my opinion, it is best to accept his decision if he appears to be capable of making it. I know it’s hard to let go of loved ones, and sad to be left behind. But he has lived a long time, and he may be ready to go home.
Treatment is not only a positive. It has side effects only your Dad feels. It can make him sick and miserable. I personally would rather have three decent months on palliative care than to have six months of misery with the same end.
Always remember that he will be in Heaven with your Mom, waiting for you to show up for the reunion, when he leaves this Earthly plane.
Amen, beautifully said. Dad just hit 87 a week ago. He was doing pretty well 2 months ago but now it’s seemingly a steeper slide. After conversations today it’s Possible that Dad will accept daily IVM horse paste as SIL has given it to him on occasion without issue. We’ll see what happens but maybe it will help him a bit. I think he’s pretty accepting of the end but not trying to hasten it. He doesn’t expect to either visit his house or The Cottage again in this life & seems to accept this too.

IMO, in the end, among the pieces that are paramount:
Your father’s informed wishes and decisions are respected;
Consistent, adequate lines of communication are maintained between your father and his children, and among his children;
Understanding that a “middle path” will sort itself out and become visible. This “middle path” may be a combination of acceptance of what your father decides and wants, plus a recognition that those who will be left behind must also take care of themselves.

TY CV. Wise words & much appreciated. We were able to discuss a number of things today & I attempted to get possible decisions about possessions a bit out in the open, as in Dad should decide things that he wants while he can. He’s given me a number of small assignments to retrieve various items from his home for himself or others & I’m following through as best as possible. Maybe he mentions these different things as they come to mind for I haven’t pursued these but he ends up telling me things I’ve never heard about before so it’s an interesting process.
He seemed in reasonably good spirits today & appeared to enjoy our visit. We talked a bit about Mom & how some of her items were managed & this seemed just a bit therapeutic for all of us. It’s a complicated process & some days are easier than others. Both my daughter & I were quite tired by the time we got home. Some of the conversations were emotional, which can be quite draining, at least for me.
It looks like Dad Might be willing to take IVM horse paste, hopefully daily, as he’s had some doses before without issue. I’m thankful for that possibility & it seems like a fairly middle of the road approach that may help with some treatment of the cancer &/or dementia so that’s a small blessing that came out of today’s visit.
God’s helping each of us get through the process without too much damage PTL…
I don’t know your dad’s thoughts, but it can be so difficult to do things against the doctors’ orders and advice. I imagine that someone who is very ill and who might not be heavily attuned to alternative medicine would find the prospect overwhelming.
Something that I’ve not seen mentioned is that it’s possible that the alternative protocols would not work. It’s unpleasant to think about, but reality.
I’m praying for you, your dad, and your family as you navigate through this. You can get a read on what his thoughts and wishes are as you talk with and observe him.
I’m not saying to give up on alternative treatments, just to be open to its seeming too difficult in your dad’s opinion, and also possibly that he might wish to not fight. That is very hard to accept, I know. 🙏
TY TT these are great insights. I was talking w/ SIL to get clarification about when a doctor might have weighed in negatively on the alternatives. From her view such discussions never happened & none of us had planned to address alternatives like IVM & FenBen w/ doctors that we presumed would be biased against it…hmmm…
SIL told me about periodically giving Dad some IVM horse paste & he’s handled it quite well (some meds don’t go down easily). Per conversations it’s Possible that Dad might be willing to take daily IVM as a way to possibly address his conditions in a small way. SIL showed me many meds & supplements & other approaches that Dad has some times taken but often of late refuses, even when it might help directly. It’s all in God’s hands so we’ll see what happens.

COVID changed my worldview permanently.
Nearly six years after COVID began, not one world leader has seriously examined what the vaccines did to the people they harmed.
Not one investigation. Not one parliamentary inquiry with genuine teeth. Not one head of state who has stood at a podium and said, we owe the injured an honest accounting and we are going to provide it.
The silence is universal. And it is coordinated in a way that individual negligence cannot explain.

Genuine public health emergencies produce genuine review. What worked. What did not. Who was harmed and how. That is what accountable institutions do.

And on the other side of that wall, the vaccine injured, still without diagnostic codes, still without compensation, still without the basic acknowledgment that what happened to them was real.
While Long COVID is promoted heavily by the same governments and the same media that will not ask a single honest question about the injections. The parallel presentations. The overlapping symptoms. The convenient framing that points everywhere except at the product.

One thing really hit me about this. The French government is very centralized, to the point where buying a stapler for a government office in Tahiti has to be approved in Paris. Accordingly, you have French bureaucrats flying all over the world on short notice, including to areas with malaria. Previously, they’d pack their clothes in a suitcase and run by the drug store to get some packets of HCQ.
In addition, drugs for prophylaxis are normally very, very, very safe — because there’s only a chance that you’d be exposed, where a side-effect might be very common.
So when the French pulled HCQ, I immediately thought, “oh, no….this is bad.”
They ruined the world for money. ALL of them are complicit. They know what they did. They meet in backrooms and plot the coverup. They know what will happen if the truth is ever fully known. Even Trump knows. They killed millions, and maimed millions more.

From the fun world of medicine, here’s some information from my latest blood work that I found interesting.
I have been taking 10,000 i.u. per day of vitamin D, up until about a month and a half ago when I dropped it to 5000 i.u. since I was outside a lot. Remember I aim for 80 ng/mL? Well, it’s only at 66! Even taking as much as I do. So, it’s back to 10,000 i.u. per day all the time.
When the doctor called me with her assessment, she said my LDL cholesterol is “borderline.” She knows damned well I won’t take meds, so she didn’t suggest any. I got my copy today, and went and checked my ratios, which are the only thing that matters. Get this:
Total cholesterol: 190
Cholesterol / HDL ratio: 2.676 (Ideal: under 3.5)
Triglycerides / HDL ratio: .901 (Ideal: 2.0 or less)
LDL / HDL ratio: 1.496 (Ideal: below 2.0)
“Borderline high” my ass.
Check your numbers for yourself. Don’t let these pill-pushing so-called physicians tell you anything.

Slight quibble with the wording. Smith didn’t “admit” that Trump has no First Amendment right. He can’t “admit” that because it isn’t true. He only revealed that he, Smith, thinks that—even though in the video he firmly asserts that Trump does have First Amendment rights.
Smith tries to have it both ways. He says Trump absolutely has First Amendment rights, but at about 2:06 he says that Trump was “not allowed to violate federal law and use knowingly false statements about election fraud to target a lawful government function.” So Smith has taken Trump’s free speech rights and twisted them into a pretzel with false accusations about what Trump knew and what his motivation was. Under this way of thinking, anyone who contests an election could be said to be making “false statements to target a lawful government function.” This is a chilling abridgement of speech.
It’s reminiscent of what I posted earlier about Ketanji Jackson saying that the speech of those caring for children should be regulated. The Left plays fast and loose with our rights when they don’t like what we say and do. They don’t operate out of principle that consistently applies to everyone. That’s why they hate the Constitution.

If this is accurate, the shooters killed three men outside the center, including a security guard, left the scene of the Islamic center (maybe because the cops were coming), shot at a landscaper who was probably not affiated with the center, and within minutes got in their car and killed themselves. This doesn’t make sense to me, but we don’t have enough information.
Why shoot at the landscaper? Why kill themselves instead of taking off in their BMW?

Ground Report: we had a family reunion on Sunday. Not everyone could attend, but there were 40 people with perhaps a dozen kids who got to play together. We met at a nice shelter in our big park and early last week were concerned about possible rain. God gave us a beautiful day with no rain between big rains on Saturday and Monday (today). God is so good. I got 2.8 inches today. It was a very nice event and lots of people brought carry in, old photos, toys for the kids, and lots of set up and clean up efforts afterward. I took meat this time and my cousin John and his wife Tina came here, helped me load up the Rogue, and followed me to the nearby park. They don’t live too far away, which is so nice.
