Wanna Buy Greenland?

Kalaallit Nunaat – Start practicing how to say it. 

You have to admit, never, ever, in a million years, did you EVER think the Trump Presidency would be THIS GOOD. Admit it, come on, admit it, no one saw this coming.

Mid-afternoon yesterday, we were all getting ready for the Trump Rally in Manchester, NH. I checked Twitter for new pics from our supporters and noticed a WSJ article about President Trump trying to buy Greenland.  Link   Full Stop. Huh? He wants to buy a country?

Buying a country? Hehe, yeah baby – There’s your new GREEN Deal!!!!

The WSJ article went on to explain the idea is not as far-fetched as it sounds. Apparently, the USA tried to buy Greenland in 1867. Again, in 1946, Truman offered 100 million dollars for Greenland, but the Danes turned us down. Greenland is an
“autonomous region” owned by Denmark.

The WSJ continued. Apparently, President Trump was at a round table, meeting with leaders, somewhere, when the subject of Greenland came up. Denmark subsidizes the 50K+ residents of Greenland to the tune of 591 million dollars, annually. The drain on Denmark’s purse was causing strain. Someone asked Trump if he was interested. President Trump turned the question back to the table and replied, “What do you think?”

Well, if the largest island in the world is a distressed asset, a fixer-upper, and in a great location, who else but Donald Trump could put the deal together? One tidbit, the residents of Greenland are not allowed to buy land. They only have the use of the land, to build a home/biz, whatever. The land still belongs to Denmark, making such a transaction much easier.

Well, it may have been an offhand joke at the time, but the WSJ is reporting President Trump came home and asked his WH Counsel to look into the idea. Additionally, the WSJ reports President Trump has brought up the idea of purchasing Greenland several times in Cabinet meetings. The USA has a Treaty with Denmark giving the USA almost unlimited access and use of Greenland. Treaty has been updated and amended a few times take a look at latest revisions here. Link

By the time the Trump Rally was over, about 8:40pm Eastern time, CNBC posted an article about Greenland and also referred back to the WSJ article. Link

I woke up to let the dog out about 4:00am Eastern (bewitching hour for the east coast media), and was still thinking about how terrific the rally was last night. The first 9 tweets were all about Greenland, including this one.

Of course, the left is knee-jerk opposed to the idea………. but in a desperate kind of way. It’s hilarious to watch.

The MSM has clearly been caught with their pants down. Pundits can’t talk and they are stuttering without approved talking points from (whomever sends the talking points).

Meanwhile, others are looking at the idea seriously. This morning, suddenly, everyone is talking about GREENLAND. We want to know EVERYTHING about Greenland.

Good Motto, we need good information. Here is some basic background about Greenland from Rick.

The population of Greenland is 56,648 with 14,719 inhabitants living in the capital Nuuk (formerly Godthab). The majority of Greenland’s population live in towns along the fjords in the southwest of the country where the climate is relatively mild. The second largest city is Sisimiut, followed by Ilulissat and Qaqortoq.

Greenland has had “Self Rule” since June 21, 2009 (including control over minerals and petroleum) – which means that the country has assumed making the political decisions that previously come from Denmark.

Did Obama agree to giving away our stake in Greenland? Kangerlussuaq (Søndre Strønfjord) in the West or Narsarsuaq in the South, were American air bases. We still have Thule Air Base in Greenland. From the WSJ article, Pompeo was scheduled to visit Greenland in May, but the trip was canceled in because of tension with Iran. Hmmmm….

In Greenland, the story is all about minerals and natural resources. Yet, we might have another problem……. because of Greenland’s new autonomous rule, but owned by Denmark. Gee Whiz, might be why the WH Counsel is looking into it. Greenland’s constant reliance on Denmark for ‘grants’ and subsidies, is straining the relationship.

The BMP is the authoritative body for all administration in relation to the mineral resources industry in Greenland. Licensees only have to apply to one place to obtain all their necessary licenses – the BMP is very much a ‘one stop shop’ – ensuring efficient administration in the area of mineral resources. The BMP has the regulatory authority to review, evaluate and approve all SIA’s, licenses and facilitate public hearing processes.

Rare earth’s, coal, lead, zinc, silver, diamonds, and exploration of gas and oil makes Greenland very tempting.

*Greenland’s geology is continuous with that of Canada and Northern Europe. It includes:

  • Archaean cratons – potential for diamonds, gold, REE
  • Paleoproterozoic mobile belts – potential for base metals, PGE’s, gold and tantalum
  • Lower Palaeozoic sediments – potential for base metals
  • Carboniferous Cretaceous sediments – potential for coal
  • Lower Tertiary intrusive complexes, the Skýrgaard intrusion being the most important in terms of gold and PGE potential

Greenland’s offshore geology is highly prospective for petroleum. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) estimated, in 2007, that the East Greenland Rift Basins Province could hold over 31 billion barrels of oil, gas and natural gas liquids. The USGS also estimated that the waters off Greenland’s west coast could contain more than 110 billion barrels of oil (roughly 42% of Saudi Arabia’s reserves).

For anyone who thinks President Trump is crazy, take a look at what the CEO’s are doing. Yeah, they already know………

ExxonMobil, Chevron, Husky, Encana, the UK’s Cairn Energy and Denmark’s Dong Energy are among the companies that have either already won or applied for exploration licenses from Greenland’s Bureau of Minerals and Petroleum for acreage.

And finally, here is the hook, and probably why our VSG is pondering the idea.

But how will Greenland pay for the responsibilities it may eventually take over from the Danish state? The main challenge to securing greater self-government is overcoming the reliance on the annual grant Greenland receives from Denmark and replacing it with revenues generated from within the country. Mineral mining and oil and gas production would ease this dependence. Fortunately Greenland is highly prospective for minerals and is hugely underexplored – the country is a new, and one of the last, frontiers for mineral and petroleum exploration.

Greenland is still reliant on Denmark, and Denmark is tired of paying for Greenland….. enter……. President Trump.

It’s such a PRETTTyyyy country.

And development would make America WEALTHY again….. Hmmmm…..

It didn’t end there. Thursday night, I thought about doing ANOTHER “audio visual” production like it, using another great song. However, I stopped myself. I knew it WASN’T ENOUGH.

Yes, it would have been powerful, but it was not going to WIN. It was not getting DEEP ENOUGH on the problem. Not deep enough to MAKE THIS MOVEMENT SUCCEED. And I believe that each of us needs to FIND WHAT IT IS that we can do to make this movement WIN and WIN BIGLY.

Maybe I’ll come back and do that musical “meme-stream” someday. But not tonight.

There is something welling up in me – a kind of urge to scream FUCK YOU at the people who have screwed up this world by TAKING what was not theirs – who used not only RIDICULE, but DECEPTION and TRICKERY to grab the steering world of this planet and drive it into a kind of ongoing TRAIN WRECK, from which, instead of accepting their own mistakes, they merely demanded MORE POWER and MORE CONTROL.

Do you know what I’m saying? What I am feeling is RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION.

This isn’t merely an intellectual argument – it’s a CULTURAL ARGUMENT – an EMOTIONAL ARGUMENT – even a SELF-CRITICAL ARGUMENT – an argument grounded in our FAILURE to engage the enemy – an enemy which mocks us from the TRASH HEAP of their own mistakes.

These people deserve FAR WORSE than what we have the RIGHT to do – which is to THROW THEIR ASSES off of their trash heap of not just mistakes, but LIES, TRICKS, and CRIMES – and FORCE THEM to help us clean it all up.

THERE. Now that I’ve GOTTEN THAT OUT – it’s time for STORK to BITCHSLAP MY ASS.

Now – I could put that in the hilarious context of the original movie, and THAT is, indeed, part of the answer.

But let’s not go there yet. Someday, perhaps, in a full post. The cultural deconstruction of Animal House over time is a great way to look at both cultural Marxism and reaction to it, as BOTH are embodied in the film. And THAT is something we need to understand. But not right now.

Tonight, I was going through replies in my notifications, and thinkthinkthink pointed out a video which is, ultimately, the whole point of this post.

If there is NO OTHER 1-hour video that you watch this year, then I would recommend that THIS BE THE ONE.

This is possibly the SMARTEST discussion on the right since the 2016 primaries.

What you have here are two of the GREATEST intellects and culture warriors on our side not quite agreeing on things – maybe even not quite getting each other. What results is FAR, FAR BETTER than if they were just high-fiving each other in total understanding. They are trying to convince each other of two perspectives of the SAME THING, and what that paints is a STEREOSCOPIC PICTURE of a NEUTRON BOMB for WINNING THE CULTURE WAR.

What that thing is, is CORE ANDREW BREITBART. Eventually, Bannon actually brings up Breitbart, and recommends Righteous Indignation as the must-read book for this moment, and particularly for a deep understanding of cultural Marxism.

There was a film back in the day – My Dinner with Andre – that was one of those artworks you never forget. This was 1981 – three years after Animal House. The movie is just two people talking about things that have nothing to do with the setting, so you have to use your imagination to tap into the RICHNESS of what they are talking about. AND IT WORKS – in a huge way.

There is a person you never see – central to the discussion – who is like the THIRD STAR. Not exactly a new technique – both Shakespeare and Hitchcock loved it. But when the cast is this small, it has a wonderful effect. It is DEEPLY SATISFYING.

THIS video of Candace and Steve has the same effect. And what is even more wonderful, is that – along with the “stars” of this video, you get to “discover” that the je ne sais quoi they are trying to put their finger on actually IS Andrew Breitbart himself.

WE NEED ANDREW. And we need him NOW.

NOW – before I make everybody RUN AWAY in horror, thinking this video is merely some kind of “rightstream intellectual art flick bullshit“, let me confidently estimate that there are HUNDREDS of game-changing and actionable political ideas here, that will make a huge difference in winning not just 2020, but 2024 and 2028. So THIS NEEDS TO BE WATCHED. By as many people on our side as possible.

But savor it. You don’t see stuff like this every day.

It’s bizarre as hell. These two geniuses could be talking on a park bench in New York City, a dock in Florida, or a picnic table in Wyoming. The setting doesn’t matter. Yeah, the border figures into some of what they talk about, but ignore it. The TRUTH of what they’re saying – especially toward the END – is amazing.

In researching for the prayer post earlier this week, I came across the following story of a family returning to their home town in Iraq after ISIS was finally driven out. It is told from the perspective of the young daughter and includes video of earlier interviews from the time when her family was in exile in Egypt.
This is a beautiful story of resilience anchored in hope.

Assessing Situations

The lyrics from Kenny Rogers song, The Gambler, succinctly sum up the necessary task of discerning the right response to a high stakes environment. If you judge the situation correctly you can sometimes take in big winnings, just stay in the game for future wins, move on or live another day.

Jesus’ Parable About Investment

Jesus often taught principles of the Kingdom of Heaven using stories (parables). In the following parable, Jesus is gently directing his disciples attention away from their expectation of God’s immediate judgment coming to earth, wiping out their enemies, and the restoration of Paradise for the righteous among them.
As you read through it, consider your own expectations. What you expect from God. From the White Hats. And, most important of all, what do you expect from yourself?

11 While he had their attention, and because they were getting close to Jerusalem by this time and expectation was building that God’s kingdom would appear any minute, he told this story:

12-13 “There was once a man descended from a royal house who needed to make a long trip back to headquarters to get authorization for his rule and then return. But first he called ten servants together, gave them each a sum of money, and instructed them, ‘Operate with this until I return.’

And so we come to the very heart of this exploration.

How do we assess the appropriate response when the place where we live is in outright rebellion to our Heavenly King and His ways?

Whether it’s Baltimore or Broward County, Cleveland or California, the right move for you and your family will require discernment. We can all agree that these places come with a higher level of toxicity than other places.

What is a Toxic Environment?

Chernobyl comes to mind. But did you know that plant and animal life around the reactor is stronger and more diverse than before the accident? From an Institute for Creation Research article just published this week (emphasis added):

“Interestingly, in addition to this innate resilience to radiation, some plants in the Chernobyl exclusion zone seem to be using extra mechanisms to protect their DNA, changing its chemistry to make it more resistant to damage, and turning on systems to repair it if this doesn’t work [added emphasis].” His observations coincide with research on the progeny of Arabidopsis plants from Chernobyl.

Several Russian scientists discovered that when exposed to high radiation there was a resistance to mutations through a more than 10-fold decreased frequency of extrachromosomal homologous recombination, major differences in the expression of genes controlling DNA-repair and for proteins removing dangerous free radicals, and a higher level of global genome methylation.

Other research on several bird species at Chernobyl found that they also have internal mechanisms for detecting free radical molecules that are a byproduct of radiation exposure and then up-regulate mechanisms for DNA repair.

Because all DNA damage was repaired more quickly, radiation-exposed birds surprisingly “may even obtain beneficial hormetic effects following an adaptive response.”

It is now obvious that creatures have innate mechanisms that enable them to self-adjust to a higher range of radiation than anticipated. The existence of these systems precedes radiation exposure—Chernobyl was a unique radiation producing event—as there has not been enough time for them to have developed due to evolutionary “tinkering” via “trial-and-error” struggles to survive.

… [T]he Institute for Creation Research has been promoting an organism-focused, design-based model of adaptation called Continuous Environmental Tracking (CET). 

This model explains what organisms are doing when they adapt. The organism-focused arm of the framework hypothesizes that: organisms possess internal mechanisms that enable them to actively and continuously track environmental variables and respond by self-adjusting to changing environments—which results in their adaptation.

The other design-based arm assumes that these internal mechanisms utilize the same engineering principles that constrain how human-designed objects self-adjust to changes.

CET postulates that how organisms adapt is via innate systems with elements analogous to those within human-engineered tracking systems, namely: input sensors, internal logic mechanisms to select suitable responses, and actuators to execute responses. CET, therefore, expects that the creatures’ self-adjustments would be characterized as regulated, rapid, and targeted to specific challenges.

The Foolish Servant

In the parable above, the foolish servant was a complete failure at adaptation. Maybe he saw the rebellion fomenting and buried his master’s money in hopes of cashing in if the rebellion succeeded. Maybe he just was really afraid of loss and that’s why he hid it.
But look at the admonition of the King to this foolish servant, “Why didn’t you at least invest the money in securities so I would have gotten a little interest on it?”
Apparently, Jesus wants his followers to understand that He rewards smart risk taking for potential gain and will be more pleased with someone gaining a little in a very safe investment rather than not investing what they have been given at all.

Risky Investments: Exhibit A

If there is anyone out there putting the gifts he has been given into good use, Scott Pressler certainly makes the list!

His work reminds me of a story that takes place during the settling of the “promised land” by the Israelites. Certain tribes wanted to settle on the east side of the Jordan river which had already been conquered. This would be allowed, but the stipulation was that they had to agree to send their fighting men to the west side to help take the whole of the land for their nation before they could enjoy the peace of their own territory.

Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites. You are to help them until the Lord gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.” Then they answered Joshua, “Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.”

In Scott’s case, he is traveling around the country to invest his talents in whatever way benefits all patriotic Americans. He is fighting for us! May the Lord guide, protect and equip this young man for what lies ahead in his life.

Risky Investments: Exhibit B

Later in Israel’s history, their land was conquered and the people were carried away captive to Babylon. God gave their prophet, Jeremiah, instructions to help them know how to respond to this upheaval.

“This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease.”

Jeremiah 29:7Now imagine the risk of following these instructions. What if the situation changes and you are able to return to your homeland quickly? What if the Babylonians decide to relocate you and all your work is for nothing? Quite the risky investment.
And yet, they are told to pour their sweat equity into building houses, growing food and making big families. They are to seek the welfare of the city where they have been placed–while remaining in captivity!
As it turned out, they were there for some 70 years. Those that heeded the words of the prophet would be coming out of captivity strong and prosperous.

In the case of the Iraqi Christian family returning to Qaraqosh (mentioned at the top of this article), they are returning to their hometown which has been bombed, looted, nearly destroyed–with about half of the original residents choosing to not return to rebuild. A different set of risks, but certainly made the choice to return and invest in the community they came from instead of seeking refuge in another, perhaps safer, place.

So back to that pesky question…

How do we assess the appropriate response when the place where we live is in outright rebellion to our Heavenly King and His ways?

I don’t think there is a simple answer.
It’s true that for some people there comes a point in time when they just know in their hearts it is time to leave. And for others it is just as clear that they are to stay and “pray to the Lord” on the behalf of the city God has placed them in.
Many will spend a long time working out what is right for them. But that is the journey and no one else can tell anyone what is the right path for another. I have deep respect for anyone that takes that journey. A journey of truly seeking God’s highest and best purpose for them no matter the cost.
May God grant us all discernment, wisdom, and peace in the process.

The Second American Revolutionary/Civil War

When Jesus was asked about the signs of the end of the age in Matthew 24 and Luke 21, He described the general conditions that have now come upon us and gave us three things to do:
     1) stand up
     2) look up
     3) rejoice!
     These are the three main things that we should set our hearts to do each day. We must stand up for what we believe with courage and boldness. We do this by looking up to see the One who is on the throne above all rule, authority, and dominion. If we see Him as He is and where He sits, we will rejoice knowing with certainty that His kingdom is coming and His will is going to be done on earth as it is in heaven. This “joy of The Lord” will be our strength.
     It is our first duty to take a stand for The Lord and His truth. We must never retreat before the enemies of the cross. We must resolve that we will not stop fighting until the entire earth and all it contains serves The Lord. He has paid the full price for it, and it is His. As soldiers of the cross, it is our duty to stand resolutely for what belongs to our King.
     We have the strength and boldness to do this when we put our faith in Him, seeing Who He is and where He sits above all authority, power, and dominion. Those who live by seeing Him as He is live as He lived, and choose death over compromising what He paid such a price for. His truth is more precious than our temporary life in this world, and we must resolve that regardless of the cost we will stand for Him. We are here to preach the good news of His coming kingdom and to help prepare the way for His coming, building a highway that is His higher way.
     Knowing these things, how can we not rejoice regardless of how dark it may look for a time? The night gets the darkest and coldest just before the sun rises. It is during this darkest time that the stars shine the brightest. Throughout history, the brightest lights have appeared during the darkest times. We are told that the darkest times of all will be at the end of this age. So, it is then that we can expect some of the brightest stars of all, The Son of God and “the morning star,” a sure testimony that the day is about to dawn, will soon appear.
     So how do we stand up as one of those lights? We get engaged. “The future belongs to those who show up.” We get engaged where the darkness is. As we are faithful in engaging in even the small things, He will give us authority over bigger matters. We get engaged attending school board meetings and county and city board meetings. We get engaged in media, education, business, sports, and entertainment. We let our voices be heard clearly and often. We do not shrink back from confronting the darkness and resolutely standing up to it.
     We do not know how much longer the darkness will last until The Son appears, but let us resolve to embrace this opportunity to stand up for The King—to stand on His word and to make His Gospel known even against the greatest opposition. To stand against the greatest darkness is the greatest honor we could be given.
     At the same time, being a light in the darkness is not just about standing against the darkness; it is also having and being the answer to the greatest problems. We must be solution oriented people instead of just problem oriented people. Our message is how bright The Light is, not how dark the evil is.
     As racism rages, let us resolve to be the temple of The Lord that is a house of prayer for all races. Let us search our own hearts for any prejudice and resolve that we will not judge others by the color of their skin, but rather by the content of their character. Let us rise far above just tolerance of those who are different and determine that we will esteem these and rejoice to know them so that we can learn things we do not understand.
     As hatred rages, let us resolve to grow in love, even the ultimate love that loves our enemies. Let us determine to hold to the truth that people are never our enemy, and that we do not war against flesh and blood, but against evil spiritual forces of wickedness that have captivated people. We are sent to set the people free. Fear is the biggest demonic inroad, or “gate of hell.” Perfect love casts out fear, so let us resolve to grow in the love that casts out the fears by which the devil has bound people.
     We are told in Romans 16:20 that “the God of peace will soon crush Satan under our feet.” Two major takeaways from this is that 1) He wants to do this under our feet, and 2) it is the peace of God that crushes him. Do not ever lose His peace. Peace is the result of our faith in Him—who He is and where He sits above all rule and authority and dominion. As we go into battle, peace is a primary weapon and our primary strategy. So let us resolve to protect it and use it to the fullest effect. In these times of rising anxiety and fear, those who walk in the peace of God will stand out as the great lights of hope that the world so desperately needs. NEVER LOSE THE PEACE OF GOD.

The Great Awakening is Coming

We here, at Wolfmoon’s Q Tree House, like to watch for cues from the Q Team. That is, to ponder, discuss, consider, share, what the Q Team highlights for our consideration. One of the key phrases in the Q posts has been “Great Awakening.”
This is a well known term from the early days of our nation. There were times of “awakenings” where by the prayers of believers and by the sovereign mercies of God thousands of wayward souls were consumed by an uncharacteristic sense of the nearness of God through the Holy Spirit, with a correlating desire to be cleansed and restored to right relationship with their Heavenly Father through the redemptive work of His Son on the cross.
These awakenings seem to come at key times in our history when a course correction was needed. It is easy enough to see in our day that we have been long overdue for a course correction. And so it seems appropriate to open up this thread for prayer for those that are ready and willing to battle together for their King.

It is likely that we each will have our own way of participating. That’s good and right. Some have already said they are seeking God with fasting. Some are part of other groups that pray. Some have no words.
Maybe some will post a prayer meme or the text of a traditional prayer. Others might compose their own Spirit-breathed prayer for us to join in to pray with them. Everyone that wants to add their heart-felt prayers is very, very welcome.

6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 

7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. 

8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.

9 We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. 

10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 

11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 

13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 

14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

15 Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! 

16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. 

17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. 

18 Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.

19 Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.

20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. 

21 And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. 

22 But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. 

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Okay, I get it.
Spiritually, we are slaves to whatever we choose to obey.

According to Jesus, “… if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed.” And that’s pretty good news. When we cry out to God for mercy, there is an exchange. We are “redeemed” from slavery and adopted as sons. This is the Gospel, good news.

The founding fathers were pretty keen on throwing off the yoke of oppression they suffered at the hand of England to become free. And I believe that there was discussion about extending their emancipation to women and slaves.
Perhaps at the time they felt they could not raise the support for their efforts if they went that far. I don’t know. But in any case, full freedom for all people was not codified into American law until much later. And for the indigenous people, they were still being treated as “less than” into the 1940’s (at least as exemplified by their access to public education).

What about modern slavery?

In the last decade the public awareness of atrocities of modern slavery has finally gained traction. Even though I did not research the producers of the above video, I believe the 7 minute view is worthy of your time. Perhaps the economics of slavery can even explain recent political moves by countries such as Russia, China and India.

A CONDENSED 
ANTI-SLAVERY BIBLE ARGUMENT.

(excerpt from Chapter I)

IN order the better to understand the subject it is necessary here to introduce a few plain definitions. Slavery has two definitions–the direct and the indirect. The first of these is that it is the total deprivation of human rights; the other that it is the reducing of human beings to the condition of property, the same as other goods, wares, merchandise and chattels.

Either of these definitions will answer for the purpose of argument, though the latter is to be preferred, because it is the most familiar. There are a variety of other ways in which mankind hold control over each other, and sometimes unjustly and oppressively; but if the persons controlled be not held as property, they are not slaves.

A Right is defined to be, the privilege or liberty of being, doing, having or suffering something at our own pleasure and discretion without the interference, interruption or hindrance of others–and to this discretion neither the law of God, nor the common law, nor any other just law, sets any other bounds than that we so exercise our own rights as not to infringe the same rights in other human beings.

A Wrong is defined to be, any voluntary act which disturbs, interrupts, hinders, or destroys the free exercise of the rights of others–every such act being strictly forbidden by the law of God, and every other just law.

Right and Wrong are, therefore, the everlasting moral and political opposites and antagonists of each other. Mr. Weld, in his valuable “Bible Argument,” says, “ENSLAVING MEN IS REDUCING THEM TO ARTICLES OF PROPERTY — making free agents, chattels–converting persons into things–sinking immortality into merchandize.

A slave is one held in this condition. In law, he owns nothing and can acquire nothing.” His right to himself is abrogated. If he says my hands, my body, my mind, MYself, they are figures of speech. To use himself for his own good is a crime. To keep what he earns is stealing. To take his body into his own keeping is insurrection.

In a word, the profit of his master is made the END of his being, and he a mere means to that end–a mere means to an end into which his interests do not enter– of which they constitute no portion. MAN sunk to a thing! The intrinsic element, the principle of slavery.

MEN, bartered, leased, mortgaged, bequeathed, invoiced, shipped in cargoes, stored as goods, taken on executions, and knocked off at public outcry! Their rights, another’s conveniences; their interests, wares on sale; their happiness, a household utensil; their personal inalienable ownership, a serviceable article or a plaything, as best suits the humor of the hour; their deathless nature, conscience, social affections, sympathies, hopes–marketable commodities!

We repeat it, “THE REDUCTION OF PERSONS TO THINGS!” Not robbing a man of privileges, but of himself; not loading him with burdens, but making him a beast of burden; not restraining liberty, but subverting it; not curtailing rights, but abolishing them; not inflicting personal cruelty, but annihilating personality; not exacting involuntary labor, but sinking man into an implement of labor; not abridging human comforts, but abrogating human nature; not depriving an animal of immunities, but despoiling a rational being of attributes, uncreating A MAN to make room for a thing!

That this is American slavery is shown by the laws of the slave states. Judge Stroud, in his “Sketch of the Laws relating to Slavery,” says, “The cardinal principle of slavery, that the slave is not to be ranked among sentient beings but among things, obtains as undoubted law in all of these (the slave) states.”

The law of South Carolina says, “Slaves shall be deemed, held, taken, reputed and adjudged in law to be chattels personal in the hands of their owners and possessors, and their executors, administrators, and assigns, TO ALL INTENTS, CONSTRUCTIONS, AND PURPOSES WHATSOEVER.”

In Louisiana, “A slave is one who is in the power of a master, to whom he belongs; the master may sell him, dispose of his person, his industry and his labor; he can do nothing, possess nothing, nor acquire anything but what belongs to his master. Civ. Code, Art. 35.”

Tried by these definitions, human slavery is one of the greatest wrongs existing in the world.

In 1845, they used pamphlets, like this one written by “A Citizen of Virginia.”
Now the internet is the medium, but the goal is the same, to educate and motivate change.
Interestingly enough, authors in 1845 found it necessary to remain anonymous when advocating for change that would threaten the established power. And today we have the same dynamic as well-illustrated by the Q movement.
When I found this “condensed anti-slavery Bible argument” (of only 84 pages!) the reasoning was so fresh, I believe it bears repeating.
Note that the anonymous author starts with definitions (see above text in red), then launches into the main of his treatise. If you don’t have time to review the text, here is the sum-up: the treatment of PERSONS as THINGS is an affront and a crime.

“No people has lived in greater freedom” Sunday

In prepared remarks this week Representative Liz Cheney, in speaking about America stated “No people has lived in greater freedom.”  While this may, in fact, be true, in our current state we face daily reminders that our freedoms are under assault.
At the rally this week Vice President Mike Pence said, “When we have a choice between more freedom and more government, we’ll choose freedom every time.” Which highlights the source of many threats to our liberty in this nation.
Let’s take a step back and ask a few questions. What is freedom? What is subjection? What is slavery? … (and, to go all Q) … What really is freedom?
In the tradition of the Jewish people, the bondage of Egypt is an ever-present memory. It all began with jealousy on the part of Joseph’s brothers. They SOLD their BROTHER into slavery. Well, they probably were patting themselves on the back for being so nice since their original intention was to murder him!
While there is a happy turn of events when Joseph comes into favor with the Pharaoh, it is important to note that Joseph actually uses God’s revelation about the future to create an economy that leads to the enslavement of the ENTIRE NATION, including his own people. He’s probably patting himself on the back because he kept them from starvation!
This is the way of the world. First you leave the place given to you. Then some trouble comes and you give up some of your freedom. Eventually the ruler you gave your freedom to hands power to somebody who despises you and and oppresses you. And when you stay strong, they start killing off your babies, abuse you and your family and try to work you to death. What a way to live.
No need to explain to anybody what slavery is right? Or is that right?
What is slavery? Do you have to be in chains to be a slave?
What about victims of blackmail? Those struggling with drug addiction or heavy debt? Those living with the fear of violence or worse? Those with hidden secrets or promises that constrain their choices?
Who is really free? What does a free man or woman look like?
What do they have that makes them free?
You will have your own answers.

For me, freedom is an inner state of the heart. A clear conscience, an unshakable trust in the goodness of God, a life of making hard choices when necessary and being willing to surrender everything to stay true to what is right.

with his disciples.

Suddenly a terrible storm came up,
with waves higher than the boat.

But Jesus was asleep.

The disciples went to him and wakened him, shouting,
“Lord, save us! We’re sinking!”

But Jesus answered,
“O you men of little faith! Why are you so frightened?”

Then he stood up and rebuked the wind and waves,
and the storm subsided and all was calm.

The disciples just sat there, awed! “Who is this,”
they asked themselves, “that even the winds and the sea obey him?”

Sleeping Through the Storm Sunday

Talk about a wake up call. Can you imagine being in that boat? When you travel with Jesus, everything you thought you knew for sure is slated to be shattered into a 1,000 pieces at the moment you least expect it.
Let’s get into the scene. It’s been a very, very long day. The crowds are growing. Jesus instructs his disciples to get the boat ready so they can leave for the night. So far, so good.
As they get underway, Jesus falls asleep in the bottom of the boat. Perfectly normal. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
But then all hell breaks loose.
No, really. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a storm where a sense of evil purpose can be felt in the storm. Personally, I love a good storm. Driving rain, whirling winds, crazy skies. When a storm rolls in, you are likely going to find me throwing on my jacket with a smile on my face as I head out to deal with whatever needs to be secured.
But then, there are -those storms- where you just know the damage being done by a storm is personal. Something wants to bring destruction.
On this day, Jesus had been taking down the darkness in a big way.

That evening several demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus; and when he spoke a single word, all the demons fled; and all the sick were healed. This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, “He took our sicknesses and bore our diseases.”

Was this storm sent as pay back? Sure makes sense to me. It seems from the text that this storm carried a payload of intimidation based on the unusual response of the disciples. These are experienced fishermen. They’ve seen a few storms in their time. Why are they so terrified?
At this point, they cry out to Jesus, “Lord save us, we’re sinking!” Seems to me they had some faith in him. Typically, you don’t shout at the person sleeping through a storm to save you. And yet, Jesus seems to be wanting them to have an upgrade of their faith. He instructs them, before addressing the storm, asking them to see their condition. IIRC, he literally calls them “little faiths.”
And then he stands, rebukes the storm, and instantly, the storm is gone.
Talk about mind blown. The disciples thought they were on track. Thought they had faith. Thought they knew this man, Jesus.
So let’s turn this into a question for today. Do you know what kind of an upgrade the Lord is giving you in the storm set against you now?

Subversion (Latin subvertere: overthrow) refers to a process by which the values and principles of a system in place are contradicted or reversed, an attempt to transform the established social order and its structures of power, authority, hierarchy, and norm (social).

Seeing the Subversion Sunday

From the Garden of Eden to end of time as we know it, the constant of subversion will always be with us. In the book of Revelation there is a description of a war in Heaven where, in his rebellion, satan apparently brought one third of the angels over to his side.
Moses had his Korah. David had his Absalom. And Jesus had his Judas. We can train ourselves to see this pattern. Perhaps even catch it in action within the structures we find ourselves placed in during the seasons of our lives.
We’ve touched on the Lavender Mafia within the Catholic hierarchy. And the communist takeover of the Chinese church. There has been mention of the way the Russian Orthodox church works closely with the Soviet-communist flavor of totalitarianism. We’ve had some discussion about the marxist sympathizers recent moves within the leadership of the Southern Baptist Church.
And yet church structures are not the only organizations to be subverted by malicious infiltration. Government and non-government organizations have always been targets as well. Any influential voice can be expected to be a target.
As with any organized power-brokering enterprise, those best at subversion are going to be scanning the populace to identify anyone at any level that might have the power to influence others now, or in the future. Those will be targeted for recruitment or discrediting, depending on the response. The pawns of the mind control media are representative of those recruited for subversion. Both as subjects and perpetuators of it.

So, what is to be our response to seeing the subversion around us?
It’s a question that can be studied in the light of the character of God and examples found in the Scriptures. When Adam and Eve betrayed their Creator, the response was immediate loss of fellowship but with a clear path for restoration given. When the Israelites worshipped other gods in a drunken party while Moses was on Mt. Sinai (being given the 10 commandments!) a similar pattern of loss and reconciliation repeated.
Many Christians have suffered torture at the hands of communists because they would not betray others in the church. Others broke under torture and did betray.

The suffering church deeply understands the weakness of men and the reality of betrayal. Sometimes betrayal done willingly, sometimes betrayal in weakness, under threat of harm to loved ones or under actual torture.
Believers so betrayed have often found the grace to turn their hearts to God and learned to forgive and then live in the joy of the Lord, free from bitterness. This is beyond human ability and one of the more convincing proofs of the Divine.
Jesus gave us a parable to help us understand the divine timetable for dealing with evildoers.

Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer sowing good seed in his field; but one night as he slept, his enemy came and sowed thistles among the wheat. When the crop began to grow, the thistles grew too.

“The farmer’s men came and told him, ‘Sir, the field where you planted that choice seed is full of thistles!’

“‘An enemy has done it,’ he exclaimed.

“‘Shall we pull out the thistles?’ they asked.

‘No,’ he replied. ‘You’ll hurt the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest, and I will tell the reapers to sort out the thistles and burn them, and put the wheat in the barn.’”

Our eagerness to uproot the evil that we see is natural. And yet the example in scripture is for us to take our distress to the Lord and get His answers for how to proceed. To take matters in our own hands is to open ourselves up to the same spirit that created the evil in the first place.
The gift of sight must necessarily be paired with the gift of nearness to the heart of God lest we become the next tyrant that replaces the last tyrant.

I mean – a somewhat SIMILAR thought occurred to me in the past, when we discovered through Project Veritas, that many DSA members working in our federal government were actually SABOTAGING things, and proudly admitting to it on secret camera.

It occurred to me at that time, that people belonging to parties which ADVOCATE secret sabotage of “the system”, such as the DSA, should simply not be allowed to work in government.

But NOW it occurs to me, that rather than approaching these crimes PREEMPTIVELY, which is constitutionally questionable, we COULD simply prosecute PROCESS SABOTAGE – you know – like CLOWARD-PIVEN operations – as a CRIME.

In fact, wouldn’t it be wonderful the TROLL THE MEDIA into having to COVER the idea of Cloward-Piven – something they MUST call a “conspiracy theory” – but which every American can understand – WILL UNDERSTAND – and will BELIEVE?
