Charging the Ambush at Ubuntu 26.04.1
Alternate Title: Terrible Trash Panda Release Domesticated With Some Extra Effort
This is just to let you know that I am back in (meaning, I can publish easily on WordPress with all my lazy-ass hacks), after deciding to manually update my box to the latest Ubuntu (26), instead of giving up and going back to version 24 or 22.
I took a chance that most of the problems are with the update process and product thereof, and not the release per se, and that appears to be the case.
After an attempt to do a normal Ubuntu upgrade from 24 to 26 on a favorite box blew up VERY badly, I was prepared to go back to 24 or even the older (and superior) Ubuntu 22. However, in a form of “double or nothing”, I decided to see if a clean install to version 26 followed by “hand migration” might work as nicely as it usually does for me. If it didn’t work, I would know more about the future of Ubuntu, and whether I needed to look more closely at alternatives.
And yes. It did work. I’m back on my comfy ride, and already found several improvements that have paid me back for the effort. These were problems with version 24 that are now as GONE as they were in version 22.
So yeah. Version 26 is working nicely so far, by following default parameters and installing it cleanly, erasing everything.
That’s all. I’ll keep it short. My recommendation is that if you want Terrible Trash Panda 26.04.1 running on your machine, then do a clean install and migrate everything else by whatever usual methods you prefer.

I want data centers, just not in an uncontrolled demolition derby addition method. We do too much of that in this country as it is. It hurts the environment and quality of life. In some cases there has been total disregard to citizens who were already there. That’s wrong.
There are vast rural areas with small populations where they can be built using existing communities or even newly constructed as population centers to draw employment for them and support businesses/government. They could be improved by the tax revenues and provide a great quality of life for the workers and families.
This nation already had the blueprint from the Manhattan Project.
The first place to look is in states with those characteristics that can develop ample power and water resources with recycling ability on the latter. Instead of the federal government being the largest land owner in America – about 28% – how about selling or at least long term ground lease some of it for the purpose in many areas where it works best for all of us?
I prefer we use a thoughtful, measured pace that is more citizen friendly than going willy nilly crazy due to some fake Chyna fear porn. Chyna has great limitations and many incompetent boobs that are only revered by treasonous uniparty grifters, thieves, and murderers. You don’t see the world’s business and tech tycoons rushing to Chyna to invest trillions of dollars anymore, do you? PDT ended that insanity.

There’s no reason that a data center can’t blend into the landscape, with a living roof, and pleasing lines. It costs money, but Big Tech has plenty of that.
There are also areas where the land is not particularly useful for farming. It is too rocky, too hilly, too dry. Spend a few bucks more and use that land instead of fertile farmland.

COMMENTARY FOR 2 TIMOTHY 1
The first design of this epistle seems to have been, to apprize Timothy of what had occurred during the imprisonment of the apostle, and to request him to come to Rome. But being uncertain whether he should be suffered to live to see him, Paul gives a variety of advices and encouragements, for the faithful discharge of his ministerial duties. As this was a private epistle written to St. Paul’s most intimate friend, under the miseries of imprisonment, and in the near prospect of death, it shows the temper and character of the apostle, and contains convincing proofs that he sincerely believed the doctrines he preached.Paul expresses great affection for Timothy. (1-5) Exhorts him to improve his spiritual gifts. (6-14) Tells of many who basely deserted him; but speaks with affection of Onesiphorus. (15-18)1-5 The promise of eternal life to believers in Christ Jesus, is the leading subject of ministers who are employed according to the will of God. The blessings here named, are the best we can ask for our beloved friends, that they may have peace with God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. Whatever good we do, God must have the glory. True believers have in every age the same religion as to substance. Their faith is unfeigned; it will stand the trial, and it dwells in them as a living principle. Thus pious women may take encouragement from the success of Lois and Eunice with Timothy, who proved so excellent and useful a minister. Some of the most worthy and valuable ministers the church of Christ has been favoured with, have had to bless God for early religious impressions made upon their minds by the teaching of their mothers or other female relatives.

The apostle had trusted his life, his soul, and eternal interests, to the Lord Jesus. No one else could deliver and secure his soul through the trials of life and death. There is a day coming, when our souls will be inquired after. Thou hadst a soul committed to thee; how was it employed? in the service of sin, or in the service of Christ? The hope of the lowest real Christian rests on the same foundation as that of the great apostle. He also has learned the value and the danger of his soul; he also has believed in Christ; and the change wrought in his soul, convinces the believer that the Lord Jesus will keep him to his heavenly kingdom. Paul exhorts Timothy to hold fast the Holy Scriptures, the substance of solid gospel truth in them. It is not enough to assent to the sound words, but we must love them. The Christian doctrine is a trust committed to us; it is of unspeakable value in itself, and will be of unspeakable advantage to us. It is committed to us, to be preserved pure and entire, yet we must not think to keep it by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us; and it will not be gained by those who trust in their own hearts, and lean to their own understandings.
15-18 The apostle mentions the constancy of Onesiphorus; he oft refreshed him with his letters, and counsels, and comforts, and was not ashamed of him. A good man will seek to do good. The day of death and judgment is an awful day. And if we would have mercy then, we must seek for it now of the Lord. The best we can ask, for ourselves or our friends, is, that the Lord will grant that we and they may find mercy of the Lord, when called to pass out of time into eternity, and to appear before the judgment seat of Christ.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. This is another drive by comment/prayer request.
First of all a huge Praise the Lord on my Estate/Trust situation. I asked all of my family to weigh in on my draft email reply to my brother & that ended up resulting in hours of discussion yesterday including D & SIL coming over in person & SIL reading portions of the Trust document & Proposal for my Trustee Brother from my Estate Attorney. SIL was able to put together the fact, spelled out in the Trust paperwork but I guess kind of lost in the weeds to all of us (not my Trust Attorney) that the Trust spells out the mechanism where I can directly inherit the Entire Cottage (if my Trustee brother forgoes his 1/2 Cottage ownership option, which he has) from the Trust/Estate in the event the FMV is below the value of my 1/3 share of the Trust/Estate. The Only Purchase that Might be necessary would be if my Trust Share is insufficient to cover the entire FMV of the Cottage, then I am time-limited to pay for The Difference in the FMV & my Trust Share.
This is So Huge & potentially lifts an incredible weight off of my/our shoulders–PTL!!!
Anyway, I am currently reworking my reply to my brother to present this info in a way that he & his &/or the Trust’s attorney can understand & agree that I do not need to purchase the Cottage at all, as long as my portion of the Trust is sufficient to cover things.
My brother sent this to me recently “There is more than enough inheritance in an equal 1/3 of the estate to cover the costs of purchasing the cottage, cottage contents, and Hilton by the December 10, 2026 deadline.” So IF this is the case (& the Currens don’t still see the “more than enough” inheritance numbers unless it includes me having to tap into a Beneficiary IRA that we are hoping to leave untouched to aggressively grow for a number of years to provide a degree of retirement & safety net for us that we’ve never had). I hope that his assessment there is correct…we’ll see…
Anyway, please pray for me as I rework my reply to my brother that I can have clarity of focus & presentation & that he & his attorney would look up the info shared with favor. There are still ongoing negotiations about various matters but if we can lock up the Cottage as my direct inheritance that would lift such a burden from so many of us. It’s like our eyes were opened last night & SIL was a big factor in helping that happen! He actually spent some hours w/ me even after D & GD had walked home & we had a very enjoyable & productive conversation w/ each other & also w/ Josiah at some points. God is so good & seems to be in the process of healing the breach & binding up our broken hearts. May He continue to provide Grace, Strength, Peace, Comfort, Joy, & Hope!

His tone is conciliatory. He even seems to be leaving room for possibilities that the estate could work to make sure you got the cottage. Thus, I am actually a bit worried that you are worried, so to speak! 😂
Seriously, there doesn’t seem to be a problem, so if you are losing sleep over this stuff, that is more concerning! Do you feel like you are grieving properly? Just checking!

The “Hilton” is the “Luzerne Hilton”, the name the previous owners gave to the one room hunting “cabin” w/ an outhouse behind that my dad & his hunting buddy Clyde aquired about 2 decades ago & Dad intended to deed to my husband, 3 kids, & Hubby’s hunting buddy at no cost to any of us but my brother is now requiring $30,000 for us to obtain it.
I doubt that I am grieving “properly” whatever that might mean. There have been many layers of issues & “insults” that have both thwarted & magnified the grief. Solidifying my future Cottage ownership would allow me to physically move some of the items currently cluttering multiple places in my home, car, & garage (let alone my mind) & help us all have peace in this arena. On our family vacation there in July some were in tears wondering if this was the last time we’d ever gather there at that point. Now we are approaching the 1 year anniversary of my grandbaby’s death that happened Labor Day Weekend 2025 during my Dad’s last visit to the Cottage, so there are even more layers of grief & also now some more of hope…
The Cottage has been a Big Part of the upheaval starting the day of the Dad’s funeral which was followed immediately by a business meeting as OK bro was still in town. At that meeting I stated clearly that I wanted the Cottage & my Trustee little bro said he didn’t want it (there were provisions in the trust for us to jointly own it or for one to get it all through the Trust as a direct inheritance). Since then there have been curveballs thrown numerous times from Trustee bro related to the Cottage, even the latest email (that I’m still revising my reply to) where he quoted his/the estate’s attorney claiming that Trustee bro can list the Cottage to sell the other half once a certain time has passed, presumably an Oct 10 deadline.
It was Only Last Night as my family & I were wrestling with what & how to say needed info to my brother that my SIL made the leap, reading the actual Trust document section about the Cottage & how it may be inherited by me &/or my Trustee brother. The light bulb Finally Went On for all of us that I can own it 100% & inherit it Directly from the Trust/Estate without purchasing anything there, unless there is insufficient funding in my 1/3 of the Trust amount where I’d need to only pay to make up the difference between trust funding & the FMV of the Cottage. Up until now the pressure from my Trustee bro & his attorney is to force me into a purchase agreement instead of the prescribed method of direct inheritance. Every time we’ve thought the issue is somewhat resolved they throw a difficult wrench into things even rejecting most of what my Estate Attorney brought to the table.
I don’t believe the Cottage is an idol, per se. It is a treasured family legacy property that has been in my family about a century now. My dad’s sister, to be 90 in December, said that she prays “every day” that I am able to hold on to the Cottage. It matters to at least 4 generations of my family right now & I am the only one of the 3 beneficiary siblings who wants to retain it, but in a way, if possible, where I don’t continue to be “house poor” in order to do so, hence negotiations on terms.
This concern is colored by how the Hilton was handled where Trustee/bro said he would straight up honor our father’s many times stated desire of deeding it to the 5 people in question but because of how things have developed we are being required to pay/forfeit $30,000 of my inheritance to get what should have already been done for free. The fact that we uncovered the legal framework showing my father Never needed to get the deceased joint-tenant’s widow’s sign off of her (non-existant) dower rights, which was the mental/emotional impediment to him carrying out the deed changes himself, yet that holding no sway in the process now is causing us to be Even More Careful about terms with the Cottage as there is much more money on the line than the Hilton…

It sounds like this goes to the logical question of honoring the larger principle of the 1/3 split vs. “prior deductions” based on individual claims. If so, that is the ugliness of inheritance math.
It is both fortunate and unfortunate that your father didn’t sign off parts of his estate to specific individuals while living, b/c had he done so, the problem there is that all of this contention would have “preceded him”, so to speak, and that would not have been good, either.
I am no expert, but I take it to mean that you are feeling good but sometimes sad emotions about the departed, and experiencing positive mental transformation in that process.
The passing of both of my parents was completely unclouded by inheritance matters for our family, thank goodness, but I can’t really get into the why of that, so I won’t. I now realize that I was both lucky and wise to accept things as they were planned.
Clearly the cottage is most meaningful to you, of all possible recipients.

It might not have mattered if he had signed off parts of it before he died, unfortunately.
In real life, I am watching my daughter’s long term fella go through pure hell to keep the house and small property his father quit-claimed to him before he died. The father’s sister is fighting to kick him out of his home of 25 years because she wants it all. And there is a lot of stuff she got legally.
Families lose their minds over money sometimes. It’s infuriating and sad to me.

My son Brandon just spoke to me at length tonight about the emails I sent (I copied my kids for they are part of this process now too). He was actually fairly offended at how both of my brothers are acting knowing that we are wanting to retain a legacy property that will likely stay in our family for ongoing generations & not be treated as some type of asset to cash in. He was particularly offended because he recognizes that both bros are more well off than we are so the machinations that may put most/all of the liquid assets into their hands as I get the property, which will have ongoing costs going forward too. The biggest offence, in his mind, is the Hilton. My dad & his hunting buddy bought it for $6,000 & Dad repeatedly tried to buy his buddy out of his half to ensure it would come to our family (buddy’s family did not use that property virtually ever). Buddy wouldn’t budge, but he died first so Dad owned it free & clear but thoght Buddy’s widow had a legal dower’s right interest in that property & needed her signature release before he could deed it to those he intended.
Trustee bro put in writing how he clearly knew exactly what Dad’s wishes were here because they had spoken of it many times, even in those last couple months of Dad’s life when he lived in little bro’s home. But when it was discovered that Dad (or perhaps someone acting on his behalf) had redeeded the Hilton to himself after presenting buddy’s death certificate & placed that property also into the Trust that little bro decided that was Dad’s actual wish, based on actions taken a month after Mom had died a year before & not the numerous times Dad had verbalized his direct wishes ever since (which he also did with the rest of us many times). It actually makes my heart ache for what Dad went through mentally/emotionally as he tried to gear up to discuss the property issues w/ the hunting buddy’s widow, especially when he had become widowed himself about a half a year later. It also is very sad to me that Dad’s directly expressed wishes are not being carried out as he desired 🙁
Being “put on the deed” at hunting camp is a huge thing in our family clan hunting history. It has been an historical honor that very few people have been afforded. Dad’s hunting buddy even chose not to add his longtime guest/employee to hunting camp onto the deed even though he’s been a part of things up there for more than 2 decades. It’s an irony that now my name will presumably need to be on the deed as it is to be part of my (hopefully direct) inheritance. Dad just wanted my hubby, our 3 non-disabled kids, & Hubby’s hunting buddy, so I guess that God has a sense of humor in these matters a bit.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it now:

And you can’t explain why it matters to the money-lovers. They just have a blank space in their hearts where the memory-love lives.

I’m not trying to cauterize the emotions (like I normally do to just survive what life requires of me) & Hubby pointed out the other day how difficult it is to see me being more of a typical female w/ challenging emotions clouding my ability to do things or process stuff more logically, which is my usual approach.
I’m glad to hear that you are now at peace with how issues surrounding your parents’ death ended up & am sorry that you have lost both of them too. I was blessed to have both of mine as long as I did but am finding them having died less than 13 months apart to be challenging, & estate issues have been wounding & overwhelming, especially in the first few weeks–Dad’s only been gone about 10 weeks.
“Clearly the cottage is most meaningful to you, of all possible recipients.” OK bro said in the post-funeral business meeting that if he lived in MI he’d have “shared the Cottage in a heartbeat” w/ me. That was encouraging to me. Little bro’s wife has access to her parents’ long time time-share program, that they plan to continue, & that has enabled her extended clan to gather at various sites across the nation for special vacations at least annually, I believe. They enjoyed the Cottage when our kids were young but don’t want to deal with the hassles of managing it & have stepped away from it for nearly a decade now, to varying degrees.
“Is this the math of things?” It’s actually co-equal shares, each at 1/3 of all the items in the Trust, or at least 1/3 of the total value. The Cottage is clearly spelled out as potentially a directly inheritable asset from the Trust but only myself & little bro had the options, initially for 1/2 ownership each but if one declines or pre-deceased my parents’ then the other can allocate the entire value of the Cottage into their 1/3 share.
What it appears to be happening is that the Trust(ee) &/or his &/or the Trust’s attorney is wanting the highest FMV valuation & is ignoring the clause about allocating 100% of the Cottage into the share of the one who solely chooses the Cottage, which is now me. They even refused to consider offering a degree of grace, which my attorney had said had been acceptable in many other cases, in that they want me to in effect pay more than a stranger would end up netting to the estate, even in the event of a full price sale.
My attorney brought up “non-pro rata in-kind” distributions from the Trust as a way to avoid unnecessarily costly transaction fees, real estate agency fees, & even attorney fees to effect the property transfer directly as opposed to having to go through a purchasing process. It is unclear whether Trustee bro will accept the actual language of the Trust which allows me to directly inherit the proptery from the Trust as part of my 1/3 share of if they will continue to press for a more costly (to me) more typical real estate purchase.
The quote from my brother IS hopeful, but the other communications have been much less so. It remains to be seen how things will work out but at least now we have a stronger sense of hope that we can secure the Cottage & that Trustee bro &/or his attorney cannot just sell the Cottage out of the family. Of course my Estate Attorney had said that for me to overtly assert my 1/2 Cottage ownership or inheritance option should have stopped any movements to sell the Cottage out from under me but that is not how the other attorney who has the ear of the Trustee saw it. We’ll see how it goes moving forward as today I quoted chapter & verse from the Trust Documents & straight up used the Trust’s language to assert my desire for direct inheritance of 100% of the Cottage since little bro didn’t want even his 1/2 ownership option which he has said multiple times & even put in writing.
Because of how things have been handled over the last few months I am less certain about little bro’s approach so we have to watch, wait, & pray.
At least for the moment, after sending off the two needed emails today I felt a measure of peace, both in completing a complicated task & in doing so being able to conduct myself mostly dispassionately in what is often a pretty internally volatile process. I guess, at least as my immediate family perceives me, I am glorifying Christ here 🙂
Many of our immediate family & definitely a number of friends, especially of my son who just married, are wounded &/or angry w/ how Trustee bro has handled many things in their direct/indirect experience &/or are being quite upset on my behalf. My oldest son’s MIL literally wept at what we were going through as she said in her 2 decades of funeral work that she’d never seen such a dysfunctional way that a family handled things (Trustee bro & his wife) & it was most upsetting because we are known to be solid Christians. I won’t atribute motives here (though I very much appreciate your thoughts on the attorney, who gets $500/hour) but actions & words directed toward us have been very difficult to manage & process. So we’re still hanging in there AND most especially hanging on to Jesus!
I hope that relationships can survive “intact” but it remains to seen. My hubby mostly looks at Trustee bro as an enemy now & has to repeatedly restrain himself from intervening in protection & defense of me. I am of the mind that the love of money is a specific demon that uses grief and loss to swoop in and take people over. It appears to me that your brother is currently at least influenced, and possibly possessed by it. I hope it is temporary. This is a challenging concept to wrap my head around in relation to my brother so I won’t say that I agree in his particular case. He sometimes signs off on certain replies “to God be all the glory”. I think he is doing his best to pad the funds of the Trust in a way.
In my specific case counting the properties I’m trying to inherit w/ the highest possible FMVs means that I get a smaller portion (or even none & I have to buy the balance of the value from the Trust to get them) of the liquid inheritance to cover an unnecessarily higher valued property, even though they are both legacy properties that are planned to stay in the family indefinitely & not be converted to funds & will ultimately end up costing me & my family money on an ongoing basis.
There are clauses written into the Trust that allow the 3 siblings to “unanimously agree” on what the appropriate “value” of a property is so this could end up being moot but that is not currently how things are being handled.
What you need is an honest appraisal, or so it would seem.

It sounds like the cash value of the cottage and Hilton showed up as far less than he was thinking, probably because he thought they’d be valued at the same same level as the house was.
That’s an interesting thought that may have some merit. The house was always the most valuable real estate but has yet to recieve any offers though has had interest online & in open houses, he’s already dropped the asking price $30,000 hoping it will move more quickly. The Cottage’s alleged FMV is just over half of what the house was originally listed for. Those two items are the bulk of the Trust that are not part of the beneficiary IRAs. He has access to All the info & I get bits & pieces doled out so can only work with what I see in doing my own calculations. & pray, of course…

Actually the alleged FMV of the Cottage is showing up at about twice what Dad thought it was based on taxable value & SEV & the times people reached out to him offering to purchase it for various lower amounts. If the FMV was closer to what Dad thought there would likely be no issues going forward, I could inherit it, the Hilton, & the Cottage contents with some degree of liquid asset “nest egg” from the Trust that could help us manage ownership costs going forward.
As such my recently married son put together various financial options where our extended clan can help step up & assist in the financial aspects of ownership of these properties, if need be, to some degree.
We just paid off our house a couple months ago & I have been planning for that (theoretical) excess in our budget to enable us to pay taxes, insurance, & utilities on the Cottage going forward, but things will likely be pretty tight. Hubby wants me to lock in Social Security ASAP to at least give us a bit more of a “cushion” LOL
Whichever properties you end up with, you should eventually take the time to visit your county assessor(s).
Property taxes are supposed to be assessed on FMV, which is what the property should be expected to trade for in an arms’ length transaction. This is usually whatever it transfers for, but you have a splendid argument that the transfer from the estate is not “arms’ length”.
If your dad was paying taxes on a value of $18,000 and your brother transfers it to you claiming it’s worth $30,000, you may be able to convince the county assessor that $12,000 of that is sibling rivalry and you should only pay property taxes on $18,000.

I don’t know if this is exactly that concept but the Estate Attorney I consulted suggested I deal with the assessors, though I think they were at the Township level, to ensure that Property Taxes remain capped in the kind of Real Estate transaction anticipated, either being directly granted a property from my parents’ trust, or me purchasing it from the trust as a first degree relative. It looks like taxes remain capped for me & my family but if we add a friend to the deed of the Hilton then his portion (whatever percentage is not “owned” by my family) will be uncapped, so it would mean a partial uncapping it seems.
Same concept.
Flag it, but don’t worry about it until you have done the deed.

My initial partial reading of the Trust Documents were on the way to the Viewing & on the way to the Funeral the next day because Hubby had informed me of the business meeting that was scheduled just the day before it happened. These events were 3 & 4 days after Dad died & though I tried my best to concentrate I was in Zero Shape to process nor retain info. The Trust Document itself was 65 pages…I mean Yikes!
Well, praise the Lord! That is the kind of blessing that I love to see. God is very practical, I think. He certainly knows who in your family would want to be the “keeper of the memories.”

I told him about a local “family history center” (don’t know the new term) near my parents’ home & the HS where I took driver’s ed one Summer. We plan to make a trip there for some genealogical help in trying to unearth both his (my Hubby’s side) & his bride’s Caribbean lineage. It’s something to look forward to when things settle down a bit & when he is in town w/ enough free time for us to have this adventure. Maybe that genealogy bug will get both caught AND taught!

It really is a super program and #1 has a blast doing it, which makes it far more enjoyable for his parents and me. It also confirms that many American parents are waking up to better ways of educating their children.

I don’t know if you need to hear this, you might know it already, but President Trump can be quite dismissive of those of us who disagree with him. He thinks he has his base voters in his pocket. And he does have many of them. But me? I don’t appreciate being dismissed, at all.

It would help if he clarified what he means by tons of jobs, because I’m sure he knows that the data centers themselves, once completed, are largely automated and don’t require a lot of jobs.
The idea is that Ai makes people more productive, and the productivity increase leads to job creation throughout the economy, not so much at the data center buildings themselves.
For instance, look at all the different jobs that have either been created or expanded due to the Internet.
There are the physical construction jobs, like laying coax cable, optical fiber cable, and even data centers, along with manufacturing all of the various components for PCs, modems, routers, monitors, printers, scanners, etc.
Then there were all the software jobs, both making everything work together, and all the many productivity applications (Word, Excel, Wordperfect, Lotus 1 2 3, Adobe, graphics programs and photo editors, email, web browsers), online games, etc.
Then there are the businesses, either primarily Internet based businesses like Amazon, or expansions of existing brick and mortar businesses by having an Internet presence / website to facilitate greater customer interaction, and enlarge the population of potential customers to people all over the world.
So it is fairly easy to argue that the invention of the Internet created a lot of jobs, and the majority of those jobs were in the infrastructure build-out in the beginning, but then building and maintenance jobs became secondary to all the business being transacted because of the existence of the infrastructure.
Ai should follow a similar path, creating all kinds of jobs which are downstream from the physical infrastructure build-out.
But so far, DJT isn’t really making that argument, or providing good examples.
It may not be easy to provide good examples during the early stages of the infrastructure build-out, because a lot of the downstream jobs haven’t materialized yet, but it seems very reasonable to expect it to develop that way.
It took time for Amazon to become a viable business, and then to grow into the behemoth it is today, it didn’t happen immediately.
This should be similar with the development of Ai.

“Like many of you, I have been entertained by the unstoppable clown car that is Donald Trump. On the surface, and several layers deep as well, Trump appears to be a narcissistic blow-hard with inadequate credentials to lead a country.
The only problem with my analysis is that there is an eerie consistency to his success so far. Is there a method to it? Is there some sort of system at work under the hood?
Probably yes. Allow me to describe some of the hypnosis and persuasion methods Mr. Trump has employed on you. (Most of you know I am a trained hypnotist and this topic is a hobby of mine.)
For starters, Trump literally wrote the book on negotiating, called The Art of the Deal. So we know he is familiar with the finer points of persuasion. For our purposes today, persuasion, hypnosis, and negotiating all share a common set of tools, so I will conflate them.
Would Trump use his negotiation and persuasion skills in the campaign? Of course he would. And we expect him to do just that.
But where is the smoking gun of his persuasion? Where is his technique laid out for us to see.
Everywhere.
As I said in my How to Fail book, if you are not familiar with the dozens of methods of persuasion that are science-tested, there’s a good chance someone is using those techniques against you.
For example, when Trump says he is worth $10 billion, which causes his critics to say he is worth far less (but still billions) he is making all of us “think past the sale.” The sale he wants to make is “Remember that Donald Trump is a successful business person managing a vast empire mostly of his own making.” The exact amount of his wealth is irrelevant.
When a car salesperson trained in persuasion asks if you prefer the red Honda Civic or the Blue one, that is a trick called making you “think past the sale” and the idea is to make you engage on the question of color as if you have already decided to buy the car. That is Persuasion 101 and I have seen no one in the media point it out when Trump does it.
The $10 billion estimate Trump uses for his own net worth is also an “anchor” in your mind. That’s another classic negotiation/persuasion method. I remember the $10 billion estimate because it is big and round and a bit outrageous. And he keeps repeating it because repetition is persuasion too.
I don’t remember the smaller estimates of Trump’s wealth that critics provided. But I certainly remember the $10 billion estimate from Trump himself. Thanks to this disparity in my memory, my mind automatically floats toward Trump’s anchor of $10 billion being my reality. That is classic persuasion. And I would be amazed if any of this is an accident. Remember, Trump literally wrote the book on this stuff.
You might be concerned that exaggerating ones net worth is like lying, and the public will not like a liar. But keep in mind that Trump’s value proposition is that he will “Make America Great.” In other words, he wants to bring the same sort of persuasion to the question of America’s reputation in the world. That concept sounds appealing to me. The nation needs good brand management, whether you think Trump is the right person or not. (Obviously we need good execution as well, not just brand illusion. But a strong brand gives you better leverage for getting what you want. It is all connected.)
And what did you think of Trump’s famous “Rosie O’Donnell” quip at the first debate when asked about his comments on women? The interviewer’s questions were intended to paint Trump forever as a sexist pig. But Trump quickly and cleverly set the “anchor” as Rosie O’Donnell, a name he could be sure was not popular with his core Republican crowd. And then he casually admitted, without hesitation, that he was sure he had said other bad things about other people as well.
Now do you see how the anchor works? If the idea of “Trump insults women” had been allowed to pair in your mind with the nice women you know and love, you would hate Trump. That jerk is insulting my sister, my mother, and my wife! But Trump never let that happen. At the first moment (and you have to admit he thinks fast) he inserted the Rosie O’Donnell anchor and owned the conversation from that point on. Now he’s not the sexist who sometimes insults women; he’s the straight-talker who won’t hesitate to insult someone who has it coming (in his view).
But it gets better. You probably cringed when Trump kept saying his appearance gave FOX its biggest audience rating. That seemed totally off point for a politician, right? But see what happened.
Apparently FOX chief Roger Ailes called Trump and made peace. And by that I mean Trump owns FOX for the rest of the campaign because his willingness to appear on their network will determine their financial fate. BAM, Trump owns FOX and paid no money for it. See how this works? That’s what a strong brand gives you.
You probably also cringed when you heard Trump say Mexico was sending us their rapists and bad people. But if you have read this far, you now recognize that intentional exaggeration as an anchor, and a standard method of persuasion.
Trump also said he thinks Mexico should pay for the fence, which made most people scoff. But if your neighbor’s pit bull keeps escaping and eating your rosebushes, you tell the neighbor to pay for his own fence or you will shoot his dog next time you see it. Telling a neighbor to build his own wall for your benefit is not crazy talk. And I actually think Trump could pull it off.
On a recent TV interview, the host (I forget who) tried to label Trump a “whiner.” But instead of denying the label, Trump embraced it and said was the best whiner of all time, and the country needs just that. That’s a psychological trick I call “taking the high ground” and I wrote about it in a recent blog post. The low ground in this case is the unimportant question of whether “whiner” is a fair label for Trump. But Trump cleverly took the high ground, embraced the label, and used it to set an anchor in your mind that he is the loudest voice for change. That’s some clown genius for you.
Update: When Trump raised his hand at the debate as the only person who would not pledge to back the eventual Republican candidate, he sent a message to the party that the only way they can win is by nominating him. And people like to win. It is in their nature. And they sure don’t want to see a Clinton presidency.
Update 2: And what about Trump’s habit of bluster and self-complimenting? Every time he opens his mouth he is saying something about the Trump brand being fabulous or amazing or great. The rational part of your brain thinks this guy is an obnoxious, exaggerating braggart. But the subconscious parts of your brain (the parts that make most of your decisions) only remember that something about that guy was fabulous, amazing and great.
If you’re keeping score, in the past month Trump has bitch-slapped the entire Republican Party, redefined our expectations of politics, focused the national discussion on immigration, proposed the only new idea for handling ISIS, and taken functional control of FOX News. And I don’t think he put much effort into it. Imagine what he could do if he gave up golf.
As far as I can tell, Trump’s “crazy talk” is always in the correct direction for a skilled persuader. When Trump sets an “anchor” in your mind, it is never random. And it seems to work every time.
Now that Trump owns FOX, and I see how well his anchor trick works with the public, I’m going to predict he will be our next president. I think he will move to the center on social issues (already happening) and win against Clinton in a tight election.
I also saw some Internet chatter about the idea of picking Mark Cuban as Vice Presidential running mate. If that happens, Republicans win. And I think they like to win. There is no way Trump picks some desiccated Governor from an important state as his running mate. I think Cuban is a realistic possibility.
I don’t mean this post to look like support for a Trump presidency. I’m more interested in his methods. I’m not smart enough to know who would do the best job as president. There are a lot of capable people in the game.

If they are still on their Moms, they have passive immunity. Most are weaned at 2 to 3 months.
Goat kids in late July/early August should have been old enough to have been vaccinated.
Also herbivores have ‘dumb’ rabies, they do not go vicious like a carnivore does.
