Can somebody explain to me why Iran needs a new government? Even if we were to assume that the people running that place were the worst tyrants who ever lived, in terms of how the government treats Iranians, why exactly is that our problem? Despite all the consternation and hyperventilating from the kosher crowd (Loomer, Levin, Lady Lindsey) there is no evidence to suggest Iran poses a threat to the United States or even to Israel.

Not to mention that Iran, which was once geopolitically isolated, now has strong international relations with a number of world powers, most notably Russia and China. Iran has also become a geographic centerpiece of the North-South Transport Corridor, which is a trade route developed by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to compete with the Suez Canal.

The deep economic entanglement between these nations will actually keep Iran accountable as economic pressure from both inside and outside of the country will promote peace and deter kinetic conflict.

Put simply, there is absolutely no reason to believe that Iran wants to start a war with Israel or the US—even assuming that Iran harbors ill-will toward Israel and would prefer to see it somehow destroyed. The point is that Iran is not going to start or provoke such a war with Israel because it knows that it will end up fighting the US and Europe.

So why the hell are we allowing the Israel lobby to drag us into this situation?

Meanwhile, here is the opposition leader to Netanyahu’s government, Yair Lapid, declaring that he will stand with Bibi in a war against Iran. Because even this former news anchor turned “center-left” progressive politician wants a war with Iran, and is willing to give Bibi all the support he needs to carry it out. Lapid even went on (in Hebrew) to express empathy for the Greater Israel that Mike Huckabee conceptualized in his interview with Tucker.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced that he had evaded an assassination attempt when intelligence revealed a plot to fire on his helicopter, forcing an abrupt route change. During a government meeting broadcast live on the presidential administration’s YouTube channel, Petro stated that he had “avoided being killed” and described how the aircraft—carrying him along with his children—was rerouted to fly for four hours over the open sea before landing at an unplanned location.

Pentagon Says US Disabled Cartel-Linked Drones Near Texas Border — Badlands Team

The Trump Administration confirmed that “cartel drones” entered US airspace near El Paso, Texas, and were disabled by the FAA and the Department of War. Secretary Duffy (Transportation) posted on X:

“The FAA and DOW acted swiftly to address a cartel drone incursion. The threat has been neutralized, and there is no danger to commercial travel in the region. The restrictions have been lifted and normal flights are resuming.”

The FAA earlier issued a surprise notice shutting down the airspace above El Paso, a major city in west Texas on the US-Mexico border, and halting all flights up to 18,000 feet for 10 days due to “special security reasons.” The restricted area covered a 10-mile radius, and restrictions were lifted Wednesday night.

Business Insider cites anonymous officials claiming that the administration disabled the drones using counter-drone measures. The department did not publicly specify the exact technology used.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum rejected reports of the alleged drone incursion, stating, “There is no information about the use of drones on the border,” according to reporting by Newsweek. The same article reports that Representative Tony Gonzales responded to the drone news:

“For those of us who live and work along the border, daily drone incursions by criminal organizations are part of everyday life. It’s a Wednesday for us.”

If you’ve listened to the past few episodes of Breaking History, we have been discussing FINcen and the Egmont Group. While FINcen is the financial crimes intelligence unit in the US government, the Egmonth Group is an international network of over 170 of this type of intelligence unit from nearly every government on earth. The purpose being to share in this intelligence.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro was sanctioned by the Treasury Department last year, and in the sanctioning document Petro is accused of getting Colombia’s financial crimes intelligence unit suspended from Egmont for allegedly sharing information he collected from the Egmont servers.

It is fascinating that both Petro and Maduro have accused all of the most powerful banks in the US and Europe of literally being the cartels. Petro says that it is institutions like Egmont Group that allow the criminality to continue and prosper, because it covers for them.

Bessent’s strategy is brilliant because it creates a practical incentive structure and has a reliable source of reward money. It also inherently targets the core culprit in all organized crime syndicates: the financial institutions.

We are going to pay criminals to rat out their friends. We are going to pay bureaucrats and accountants to blow the whistle on shady stuff they see around the office. And we are going to pay them with the money collected from fines imposed on the guilty parties. The idea being that the investigations will lead to criminal referrals and indictments.

Scott Bessent is weaponizing the financial system against itself by tapping into base human instincts.

We’ve been speculating for months that Mexico would be the real target for a military operation. Here’s President Trump weeks ago explaining that the cartels control Mexico.

Yesterday, President Trump affirmed that he did offer to send in US troops to fight the cartels, but was turned down by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

This tracks, if the cartels do actually control Mexico.

However, two weeks ago it was reported that a Mexican Senate commission approved a proposal for SEAL Team 2 to go there and train Mexican special forces to fight the cartels.

Last week, Sheinbaum formally invited the SEALs—though this was only in a training capacity.

With all of this said, it is notable that the New York Post
reported that over 100 cartel bosses—including El Mencho’s brother—were quietly handed over to the Trump administration prior to the Jalisco raid where El Mencho was killed.

It could be that things are not what they seem. It could be kayfabe to keep the cartels guessing. We should continue to withhold belief (h/t: Chris Paul ) until we have enough data to adopt an informed opinion.

Personally, I do think this particular war against the cartels is real, and I think much of the cartels’ infrastructure has already been severely hampered by the efforts of Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, along with Bukele of El Salvador, among others.

As Petro is calling for Trump to lead a crusade against the bankers and financiers that support the cartels, the [Mexican] military is going after them in Mexico.

Ben Gurion Canal Project: The Real Reason Behind the Israel-Palestine Conflict?

Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas War on Oct. 7, rumors have circulated online about an alleged Israeli infrastructure project that would create an alternative to the Suez Canal, allowing Israel to control a waterway between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.

The new canal, supposedly called the “Ben Gurion Canal” after Israeli founding father and first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion, would be a financial boost for Israel, but it would also have to run directly through the Gaza Strip.

Reason Behind a ‘Ben Gurion Canal’

The Suez Canal Authority had a record revenue of $9.4 billion in Egypt’s 2022 Fiscal Year, up from $7 billion the year before. Some 25,800 ships passed through the canal in FY 2022, up from 23,800 the previous year.

But the Suez and its profits were not always owned by the state of Egypt. In October 1956, a conflict between Israelis and Egyptians cascaded into what historians refer to as “the Suez Crisis,” when the British and French lost control over the Suez Canal after the Egyptian government nationalized it.

The Suez Canal was created by a French diplomat in 1869 and was jointly administered by a British-French imperial corporation. By the 1950s, Egypt had already been rebuffing Britain’s military presence at the canal, and was unhappy with the existence of Israel. But when Israeli troops pushed Egyptian forces toward the canal, as the U.S. backed out on a promise to fund a dam in the Nile River, Egypt seized control over the highly important trade route….

Previous Consideration of ‘Ben Gurion Canal’

It was revealed in a document from the 1960s (declassified in 1996) that the United States considered using 520 nuclear bombs to blow through the Israeli landmass in order to create an alternative to the Suez Canal similar to the alleged Ben Gurion Canal. It was produced by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, an institution funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The document, entitled “Use of Nuclear Explosives for Excavation of Sea-Level Canal Across the Negev Desert,” proposes creating a 160 mile long canal across Israel to as a “strategically valuable alternative” to the Suez that would “probably contribute greatly to the economic development of the surrounding area.” The author also suggests using the hypothetical canal to power a hydro-electric dam.

To create the passageway connecting the Mediterranean with the Gulf of Aqaba through the Negev desert, the paper notes, “it appears that nuclear explosives could be profitably applied to this situation.” It suggests a route that would “pass by Beersheba and the Gaza Strip,” specifically Gaza’s “coastal plain” which is described as “the least difficult to excavate” as it is “fairly close to seal level.”

After discussing the economic feasibility of the project, which it argues would only be a fraction of the ultimate pay off, the document brushes up against its “political feasibility,” recognizing “it is likely that the Arab countries surrounding Israel would object strongly to the construction of such a canal.”…

Another Unique Exception

Contrary to ordinary U.S. policy, Israel has been and continues to be allowed to use approximately a quarter of U.S. military aid to purchase equipment from Israeli manufacturers. The MOU requires this Off-Shore Procurement (OSP) to phase out over time, ending entirely in FY2028. However, according to the CRS report, Israeli defense contractors are responding to the planned phase-out by merging with U.S. companies or opening U.S. subsidiaries to continue their elegibility for defense contracts financed through FMF.

Thanks in part to this indirect U.S. subsidy, Israel’s arms industry has become one of the strongest in the world, and competes with US companies. Should we believe Alan Hart and share his conviction that Mother Israel meant exactly what she said? Yes, because we have similar reports from other reliable sources. For instance, I remember reading Robert Fisk’s book The Great War for Civilisation in which Fisk, a keen-eyed and objective observer, mentioned watching high-ranking American diplomats like Colin Powell and Madeline Albright acting deferentially, even fearfully, around Israeli leaders. If we consider the normal operating mode of American politicians—hubris—that seems hard to believe, unless Israel was threatening to use nuclear weapons. When I put two and two together, it seems to me that Israel may have warned American diplomats, “Unless we are allowed to have our way with Arabs, and the world acquiesces to our brutal, unjust treatment of them, we are willing to unleash a nuclear Armageddon on the world.”

And it seems those American diplomats also believed the threat of the Samson Option.

Prelude to War

Israel’s development as a full-blown nuclear power by 1969 could not have come at a more fortuitous time, in terms of the American presidency. Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger approached inauguration day on January 20, 1969, convinced that Israel’s nuclear ambitions were justified and understandable. Once in office, they went a step further: they endorsed Israel’s nuclear ambitions.

The two American leaders also shared a contempt for the 1968 Nonproliferation Treaty, which had been so ardently endorsed in public by Lyndon Johnson. Nixon, midway in his campaign against Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, dismayed the arms control community by urging the Senate to delay ratification of the NPT until after the election. He went further a few days later, telling newsmen in Charlotte, North Carolina, that he specifically was concerned about the NPT’s failure to permit the transfer of “defensive nuclear weapons,” such as mines or anti-ballistic missile systems, to non-nuclear powers. Government arms controllers were hugely relieved in early February 1969 when Nixon formally requested the Senate to take up the treaty and then stated at a news conference that he would do all he could to urge France and West Germany— known to have reservations—to sign it: “I will make it clear that I believe that ratification of the treaty by all governments, nuclear and non-nuclear, is in the interest of peace and in the interest of reducing the possibility of nuclear proliferation.”

In the secrecy of their offices, however, as only a few in the government knew, Nixon and Kissinger had simultaneously issued a presidential order to the bureaucracy undercutting all that was said in public. The classified document, formally known as National Security Decision Memorandum (NSDM) No. 6, stated that “there should be no efforts by the United States government to pressure other nations, particularly the Federal Government of Germany, to follow suit [and ratify the NPT]. The government, in its public posture, should reflect a tone of optimism that other countries will sign or ratify, while clearly disassociating itself [in private] from any plan to bring pressure on these countries to sign or ratify.”

I realize that many on our side regard the exploding pagers as primarily a laughing matter, and secondarily as an object of admiration.

Part of that was explaining my own SARS-like symptoms, from a definite Corona infection that I picked up in mid-January at an “Iran-connected” meeting. Of course, at THAT time, we knew nothing about Iran.

But how could that be? It doesn’t fit the TIMELINE.

Good thing I stayed out of nursing homes for two weeks, thanks to a 5-day induction period, and having seen the DEADLY GRAPH of COVID morbidity vs. age, but it was close. My friend Suspicious Cat may have saved a few old veterans.
